I'm quite sure those of who ordered more than one order will be getting an email shortly telling us that the promotion is good for only one order.
Which is o.k. by me, even though it would sure be nice to actually get a deal from Disney for once. :)
Hey Snoopy...Can they do that? I mean they already have your money. I wish you guys luck..fingers crossed...I agree, it would be nice if for once someone got a Disney deal... Good luck.

Which is o.k. by me, even though it would sure be nice to actually get a deal from Disney for once.
Those of us who use the reward programs have long figured out not to use promotions that arent intended for us. Disney was giving a "deal" to their customers who had done quite a bit of business with them. All it takes is one person to start passing on a code that was only intended for them (thats why they received the card) and it ruins it for everyone. The same thing used to happen to people that received the postcards for a % off their stays at certain WDW resorts.....only the people with the card were entitled to the deal but others tried to take advantage. Thats why prices on things go up and in the long run will cost you more money. Do you really think Disney can afford to give away $15 worth of merchandise everytime you order? Basically you took advantage of a business you supposedly like.....but consider putting the shoe on the other foot.....what if at your next stay at WDW you were overcharged for something...wouldnt you demand to be given your money back immediately? How do you justify this to yourself and come away with a clear conscious? How do you think the employees of the Disney Store are going to feel when they dont get a payraise because they lost so much money yesterday? And for those with children how do you explain that you took advantage of a mistake another person made with a clear conscious?
I wont be holding my breath waiting for Disney to give anyone any more "deals" in the near future.
Seems people were quite offended yesterday when C. Ann asked what people thought about a child saying OMG. Well I'd rather my child say OMG than to take advantage of someone else's mistake.
Now if you'll excuse me I'll be slipping into my fireproof jacket. ;)

Uh oh!! Was it a mistake? Has anyone found out if it is or was? I haven't checked my email yet. I haven't even checked to see if I have confirmation emails. Certainly if it was mistake, I would not feel right benifiting from it, especialy since two purchases I made were gifts. I would do my best to make sure I straightened everything out (but that's just me, just who I am, it has nothing to do with what you said CajunDixie, or nothing to do with what others should do). If it was a mistake, I'm sure Disney will make sure we all know about it and give us a chance to either continue with our purchases or cancel them.
I for one will purchase everything I ordered, discount or not. Oh, except for one thing which I only ordered only because of the discount *gasp* ;) (Monsters, Inc DVD). I have a Holiday Gift card I'll use and when they bundle my orders, I'll get free shipping and handling. :p
Please don't lecture or judge others CajunDixie. Everyone wasn't trying to get over on Disney or cause them hardship. As far as I know, people were just making puchases with a discount code. As far as promotional codes go, Disney gives them out often enough that they know what, when, where, how and why to use them. They've used them enough over the years. If we were not supposed to use the code, I'm sure Disney will let us know.

there's no such word as "irregardless". you meant "regardless".
disney puts a lot of time and effort into its marketing strategy. they got a lot of people to make purchaes yesterday. they may lose a few $$ because of what happened with the code, but by keeping the customers happy they'll gain in back over the long run.

One entry found for irregardless.
Main Entry: ir·re·gard·less
Pronunciation: "ir-i-'gärd-l&s
Function: adverb
Etymology: probably blend of irrespective and regardless
Date: circa 1912
nonstandard : REGARDLESS
usage Irregardless originated in dialectal American speech in the early 20th century. Its fairly widespread use in speech called it to the attention of usage commentators as early as 1927. The most frequently repeated remark about it is that "there is no such word." There is such a word, however. It is still used primarily in speech, although it can be found from time to time in edited prose. Its reputation has not risen over the years, and it is still a long way from general acceptance. Use regardless instead.
No, I meant irregardless.;)
And for the record, I didn't get the code. However, if I did, I would've used it-however I would've used it minimally. Not because of guilt, but because I don't want to max out my visa.;)

Oh, I was just WAITING for this kind of thing to happen. Nobody had anything to say yesterday when people were doing it, but now that it's been pulled, people have plenty to say?
I also hope none of the people who usually have so much to say about refillable mugs, 5 in a room, etc, etc, etc, didn't "unfairly take advantage" of this promotion. That would kind of make them hypocrites, wouldn't it? ;)
now everyone...let's play nice...I do not want to have to close my own thread   :p :)

BR, that would be Disney with a capital D. ;)
CajunDixie, no flames, but I disagree. Disney has been doing promotions and marketing for a very long time. When I moderated the Resort Board, the biggest frustration I had was when people shared resort codes from postcards, that were not meant for others. Then I started thinking that a corporation like Disney surely could afford to hire Marketing people who realize the power of the internet and would be able to figure out a promotion that could only be used by those it was intended for. If they haven't figured it out yet.......
And I wouldn't blame something like this for retail CMs not getting a raise. There are LOTS of places blame could be put for that! :)
Just my 2 cents.

Irregardless is a double-negative. It is a one-word grammatical error! The last line of your quote says to use "regardless."
Sorry, one of my biggest grammar/spelling pet peeves.
As for the code, I felt dishonest using it. But, I will leave it up to Disney whether or not they want to honor it, and I won't get mad if they don't.

I didn't take advantage of the code yesterday because I needed to keep my Visa clear for other uses this week.
I don't begrudge anyone else for using it. If you were able to purchase more than you normally would and your kids will have an even nicer holiday because of the deals you got, then all the power to you.
To tell people that they are stealing is awfully judgemental and quite frankly none of your business.
And as far as being the reason why TDS employees won't get a raise. Well, there are LOTS of us not getting raises this year and haven't for quite a while. To try and make people here feel responsible if TDS employees don't get a raise is pretty low. There is, afterall, a recession going on.

I didn't use the code, but I can tell you if Disney only wanted you to use if for one purchase they would have made it impossible to use it more than once. These aren't dummies we're dealing with. They have an entire crew of lawyers that look over ever tiny detail to make sure they don't lose money. For any person to act like others were stealing from Disney is just ludicrous.

What's up Doc? I here ya on that grammer n' spelling stuff. Ain't nothin worse then when peoples use the wrong words to get there point across.
Personally, I try not to use irregardless unless I want people to hear what I am saying. That must be why they put an "ear" sound at the beginning, you think? Hey I am curious, what kind of pet do you have that peeves grammar and spelling? Please tell me it isn't a "bee". that would just be odd. Unless of course you had two of them, then it would be even I guess.
In closing, I leave you with the immortal (not to be confused with immoral or mortal which both sound very similar but aren't the words I want want to use in this context) words of Simon and Garfunkel:
Don't know much about history
Don't know much about biology
Don't know much about science books (I am curious, would conscience be scientists gone bad?)
Don't know much about the French I took (I am assuming here he was talking about a class and not an actual person)
But I do know that I love you
And I know that if you loved me too (note the extra "o", you gotta love a guy with enough money to buy an extra vowel)
What a wonderful world this would be

I am curious would sage advice come from a sage bush? Do different species of flora (not the place your feet go Briar Rose, this is a fancy word for plant) advise each other? Like would a rose ask a sage to conjugate verbs? (Don't worry, that sounds worse than it really is. It is relatively painless unless you are speaking French which contains some verbs that will tie your tongue in knots requiring you to visit the clinique. So unless you are a professional, kids don't try this at home.) I was wondering if by proper you were implying the mathematical definition, you know "Of or relating to a subset of a given set when the set has at least one element not in the subset." If that was the definition you were using, I would just further clarify that the subset of a given set is only applicable if the subset of the set is defined at sunset. Otherwise, it is irproper to use that word. Oh wait, I meant improper which is kind of a funny word don't you think? It almost looks like "I'm proper" but if you say it that way in English class, it makes people snort milk out their noses. Life would be so much easier if we went back to grunting like cave men and women, don't you think?

You know, if we were writing college essays, being nitpicky about grammar would be understandable, but this is an internet message board. On the internet -- in chat rooms and on message boards -- most people type the way they speak and it's not always grammatically correct. I know I do.
It's an informal forum and people want to be relaxed. Many times I use "y'all" in chat or in posts. Would I use "y'all" if I were writing a letter to the editor of the New York Times or writing a graduate thesis? Of course not.
Besides, in the 7 years I've been online, I've always thought it was rude to criticize someone openly for using informal language in an informal forum.

Me and you need to stick together on this stuff Briar. Nothing is worse then a bunch of people talking not good. If we start letting people talk any old way they feel like it than before you know it, we can't understand a word anybody is saying. Don't let them get to you, I got your back on this whole wordsmith thing. Hey wordsmith is kind of interesting don't you think? I wonder if there is a wordjones too? And who would name their kid "word" anyway? Probably the same bunch who use those "ir" words. Hey, I got one for you too,
sage
Function: noun
Etymology: Middle English, from Middle French sauge, from Latin salvia, from salvus healthy; from its use as a medicinal herb -- more at SAFE
Date: 14th century
1 : a mint (Salvia officinalis) with grayish green aromatic leaves used especially in flavoring meats; broadly : SALVIA
2 : SAGEBRUSH
I guess you told them, huh! They'll think twice before coming around again with their unflavored meats and stuff. I don't care if that herb (oh the "H" is silent here, thought you might want to know that so people don't make fun of you) is medicinal or not, there is just no place for it in proper language. Did you notice that "sage" comes from France? I told you to watch out for them French words, they can be a bugger. Hey, my definition is from the 14th century, how old is yours? Don't you love guys like Webster? Oh, I was going to tell you that Webster isn't that little kid on television that used to have his own show, it's a different guy. I know that can be confusing sometimes. I always got that kid confused with Gary Coleman didn't you? And whatever happened to Punky Brewster?

Jeff
Wow, this is refreshing, someone with a great sense of humor! Something fun to read on the community board for a change, lol!:p
Just my two cents, not two sense, lol! ;)
