I know this has been discussed here previously, but I haven't seen it lately. I called DVC and asked about buying 4 day Park Hoppers at a DS locally with my DVC discount. She said that the only place that I could buy a pass was at the front desk at (in my case) BW. She also said that the discount then is ONLY for a length of stay Park Hopper Plus pass. This doesn't sound correct to me. Did something change without me knowing it?

She is absolutely correct and this is the way it has always been.
BUT!!!! Many have reported local Disney stores giving the discount any way. We have had reports of an incorrect bar code being scanned and people getting the discount that way. We had a report from someone who sounded very credible who said that there was a DVC discount bar code in their book and she insisted that it was correct for her to be giving the discount.....I still tend to think that the bar code was mislabeled and any discount ever gotten in a Disney Store was actually a mistake.

I think some Disney Stores get Disney Vacation Club confused with Disney Club and give the Disney Club discount. Disney Club is no longer discounting 4 or 5 day hoppers anyway.

Thanks Rich & Deb,
That clears it up. I knew my sister, also a DVC member, bought passes at a DS, so I couldn't understand how what the CM said could be true.
Now, the next question -- we're staying for 4 nights, and will be in the park 4 days; since we have an early a.m. flight home. Will they sell us a 3 night 4 day park hopper plus, or would it have to be 4 night, 5 day one? (Actually, I have an AP, this is for my husband, who doesn't go to DW quite as often as me.)
Thanks again!

They will drop a day at check in without a problem.
Wouldn't a four day hopper actually be cheaper?
If you won't be using the plus options, water parks, pleasure island, etc, be sure to actually compare the prices and realize that an unused day on the hopper lnever expires.
