Are there any discount codes for the Universal hotels?
Can't seem to use the search facility at the moment.

Not sure if they are any discount codes for HRH or any of the Universal Hotels. Previous threads all imply that discounts are obtained by holding one or more of a variety of cards/memberships.

AAA (AA memebrship gets you this)
Entertainment Card
Lowes Card (the hotel group)
Hard Rock All Access Card

....all get you discounts of some sort. I think a Universal AP also qualifies for some sort discount.

I've just booked for next July using an Entertainment Card bought from Entertainment.com - cost $35 but saved over $315 for the HRH for 3 nights !

There are no discount codes that I know of, but if you check out the thread "whats your date and rate" at the top of the Universal board it will give you more of an idea on rates and how people got them ie entertainment card, HR All Access.

The three times I have been to the HRH, I used Virgin twice and Expedia once on the first trip. I also used my HR All access card to book a room for my sister and the rate for October '02 was $142.00/night (garden view room), but there are cheaper rates out there for the HRH, sometimes as low as $99.00/night.

To get an All Access card, go over to www.hardrock.com. I think they are $29.95, but you get $20.00 credit on the card to spend in the HR Cafe.

The entertainment card is available at www.entertainment.com. Usually this card gives the best rates.

You can also get some great rates using the Fan Club card. Its supposed to be available to U.S. citizens only but , some UK ers have been able to get one.

Hope this helps

Garry, when you say an "entertainment card", do you mean the coupon book, or is there an actual card you can apply for?

Paul, is there a set discount using the all access card or does it depend on time of the year?

Thanks for your help.

Both - when you purchase the entertainment book you get a book of discount coupons and a card.

From what I've been told you need to show the card at HRH when finalising the bill - assuming, of course, you already managed to secure the room on the discounted rate because there are only a limited number of discounted rooms available.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Garry, $35 isn't too bad when you see what you could save just on the hotel and I assume there's plenty of other discounts available in the book.

Hi,

I have just come back from HRH and I used a Universal Studios Fan Club card to get a better rate.

If you haven't got one, Nanci at http://yourmagicaljourneys.com/biography.htm
will sort one out for you and make the booking (saving you any expensive phone calls).
It worked out the best way for me.

Hope this helps,
