Hi folks!
I don't normally post on this board, but I thought I'd share.
The DisneyStore website is running a promo where if you enter the code "HOLIDAY", you get $15 off your order regardless the amount you spend! "A Bug's Life", "Toy Story" and "Toy Story 2" are all on sale for $14.99...after the discount, all you pay is for shipping!! the discount can only be used once per order so if you order more than one item, order them seperately and use the discount each time!

Thank you Mal :) Is there a web site that tells you all of that quickly, or do you just know it? Or maybe you've looked it up before?

I forgot too. I just started with mypoints a few weeks ago, so I keep forgetting that I can get points going through them at dsineystore.com
I just purchased two orders. One a $12.50 item, the other $19.99 Santa Clause DVD, both using the holiday code for $15 off.

dizneenut,
Do you have mypoints alert installed on your computer? It keeps you from missing those points and you get 25 pts. for installing it!

cfbarker, I d/l'ed it for the points, but after a month or so took it off the computer. Guess I should have left it alone, huh? :teeth:

Is there anything that will tell you that you earned the points after making a purchase on the Disney site? I went through mypoints to get there, but nothing came up after I placed the order. I don't make many purchases with mypoints and I know on the tupperware offer they was a thing you had to click to get the points credited.

Thank you so much for posting this! I am working on my Christmas shopping now!
There's something fishy at Disneystore.com. I tried ordering the Toy Story 2 DVD. Its says "in stock" when I add it to my cart. Then I applied the HOLIDAY discount. That went fine. Then when I clicked to checkout, I got a message stating that the DVD is no longer available and was removed from my cart. This has happended with 2 different DVD that I tried.

I made two back-to-back purchases - had to enter the HOLIDAY code each time and "apply" it to the order. Now the store is temporarily unavailable - most likely they are working the code so each user may only use the code one time....
Try again in a few minutes!
Ok I got it to work on something else. I bought the bronze-tone Mickey stocking holder for the mantle. I had seen this earlier in the catalog and liked it. The price is $14.50. I was able to complete 2 orders and apply the discount, but now the site "momentarily down." I hope I'm able to complete my 3rd order. It really makes these a deal at only $6 each (shipping).

I'm not saying they won't pull this code abruptly, they probably will at some point. But I think the problem we're seeing now may be due to the number of hits the site is taking. I've had it go down several times today only for it to come back up and still have the code available. I think I'm finally done! Hope it lasts till everyone gets their shopping done!:D
Yup. Its gone down a couple of times in the last 20 minutes or so, but I was able to order 3 stocking holders and a sweatshirt.

I'm not sure if it's because I already ordered 3 things or if they just disabled it, but on my 4th purchase (which I decided to get anyway), the HOLIDAY code was disabled. (that was at about 7:50pm eastern time)
BUT, thank you, thank you, thank you to Mr.MouseFan for the great tip! For the 4 items I purchased, I paid $36.80 with tax and shipping. I did use $20 in GC's from when I purchased Monsters, Inc and Beauty&the Beast, but 4 gifts for less than $40 is GREAT!

Despite what others are saying on other boards, I thank you Mr. Mouse Fan for posting this code...I saved alot of money on things for Christmas...I think we all have been around Reward Programs/Deal boards to realize that if Disney had really wanted only "certain" people to be able to use this code, they would have made it that way instead of a free for all for anyone...I feel they maybe were doing Fall Cleaning and wanted to get rid of stuff for the Holiday merchandise coming in...but who knows...I am certainly not going to be upset if they cancel my orders...:)

I'm glad I was able to help. According to some, we're theives, but I agree with your statement about a fall clearance. I guess only time will tell. Even if they do cancel the orders, it was a blast being able to do all that shopping yesterday! :teeth:

Well I wont post another long post here.....did that already on the Com. board. But I would think after what happened with the Ebay points thing and the Shared Greetings....and people that used codes that were emailed to other people that rewards people would have learned to not take advantage of a code that wasn't sent directly to them. Fall clearance? LOL Justify in your own mind anyway you can but its still comes down to people taking advantage of a mistake a computer programmer made in not requiring that the code on the postcard be needed to complete the one time offer.

so why post at all?
I don't mean to be rude(yes I do) but I can not for the life of me see DEBATE Board in the title of this board.
If you want to debate go to the debate board. If you want to contribute to the rewards boards your posts are welcome.
Judge not .....

Its not the Com. board either but people post off topic things here too. Sorry that I cant bow down and always agree with the "regulars" here. I realize you hate for people to disagree with you Mal but you arent always right and since this is America people are allowed to have their own opinion.
BTW is this a rewards post? Your post (http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=285317)
Or this? (http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=275871)
I didnt see anyone jumping you for those posts so why be rude to me?
People wonder why reward programs dont stick around....well after seeing how many orders people placed yesterday I can see why many dont survive. Fall clearance? LOL how is pre-ordering Lilo and Stitch a clearance when it has not even been stocked yet?
How would you feel if everyone took advantage of a mistake made by the owner of Click to the Magic? Wouldnt like that now would you? Why you ask? Because she's a DIS regular and we know she worked long and hard to make that program work. The Disney store is operated by regular people too...just because we dont personally know the person who made the mistake on the card promotion doesnt make him or her any less human.

Sorry CajunDixie but I do not mind if people disagree with me they do it all the time your post was not a disagreement but just plain rude.
And I am not debating with you now or later on this board or another.

Okay, people...let's just agree to disagree here...some think it was wrong to do it, others feel it was fine...It is your OWN opinion and we all have stated it now...let's just move on now....
and just for the record, I don't have to justify anything in my own mind, if my orders are cancelled, so what?? I will not be upset about it one bit, I will end up buying the stuff I ordered for christmas anyway...

and I would like to apoloqize to anyone that I have ever made feel that they could not disagree with me.
I admit that I can be bull headed but please if you disagree with me on anything say so I am not always right.

Mal, How dare you wish us good tidings and try to feed the hungry...who do you think you are? (that in reference to your 2 way off topic posts)
Wait let me take a guess as to who you are:
considerate
helpful
charming
humorous
honest
supportive
cheerful
charitable
blah, blah, blah
Let's see if I can find anyone else that can linger on these boards for 3 years, write only 25 posts and find a post so important that you must make a few of them negative.
By the way, I fail to see where the error is in the offering of the code. Where does it say not to share the code? Just because they pulled the offer doesn't mean that there was any wrong doing. I bet someone was a little too upset when they got to the store a few days late and didn't get a Tickle Me Elmo.

Wow! I never realized there were so many rules to post here. Lets see if I have it right so others dont make the same mistake I did
1. I cant be rude but Mal and jdads2 can
2. I cant post because I dont have very many past posts.
3. I cant post off topic but Mal can
4. I cant say that I think the Holiday code was a mistake on Disney's part since they sent out cards to specific customers who had spent a certain amount of money with them a few months ago. Hence the removal of the code without proof of the card.
I miss the days of when there was only 1 board and Pete monitored it himself.

Guess I've missed lots around here the last few days. Wish I had read my faithful DIS board before I went on the DS site this morning. That way I would have known what was going on-lol!
I actually have one of the little cards in my hands right now since we spent over $65 and were told we could use it on an order after 11/1 and save $15. It does say to type in the code HOLIDAY and it would be taken off. Imagine my surprise when it was coming up with a page showing that I need to mail it in and get reimbursed for my card now instead of it removing it from my order.
I'm not mad or upset that anyone got in on the deal, I know how much we all spend on disney items and at WDW. I'm just aggravated that I have the card and now I have to mail it in to prove it. Kinda stinks if you ask me---but what can you do? :)
Have a great day everyone!

Actually there's a simple one that you could follow that would pretty much solve your problem.
If you want to debate, take it to the debate board.

Look people, I have already stated once now that we have all expressed our opinions...If you want to Debate what is right and wrong, take it to the Debate Board, where another post on this same subject has already been started!
