Welcome all to another BrooklynnsMommy and MeMom trip report! We can't wait to share our latest Disney adventure with you all so on to the introductions!

Here is the whole crew (minus MeMom, of course) on New Years Eve!

http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f286/missjill5/Christmas%202012%20Disney%20Trip/IMG_8421.jpg

First, let's introduce the true stars of all of our reports! My sweet girls, Brooklynn and Bellarie.

http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f286/missjill5/Christmas%202012%20Disney%20Trip/413894_2621291484282_1015041877_2719144_1791179064 _o.jpg

http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f286/missjill5/Christmas%202012%20Disney%20Trip/IMG_6902.jpg

Brooklynn is my oldest. She is 5 and half. She is in Kindergarten and loving it. Her favorite subject is math. She loves the thrill rides and would have ridden Space Mountain all day long if we let her. She loves animals and it is because of this love that we got our title for this trip report. She wants to be a vet when she grows up. Aladdin asked her to come to the palace and be their vet, but I am hoping she finds her way to Animal Kingdom. This was her 17th trip.

http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f286/missjill5/Christmas%202012%20Disney%20Trip/IMG_8326.jpg

Bellarie is my pixie-sized almost 3 year old. She is extremely independent and extremely fast! She loves all things girly - purses, heels, and anything glittery and sparkly. She wants to do whatever her big sister is doing and got a little bummed out this time when she couldn't ride some of the rides. This trip she loved the characters and needed to see them all, especially the princesses, Minnie and Daisy. This was her 9th trip.

http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f286/missjill5/Christmas%202012%20Disney%20Trip/IMG_8189-1.jpg

Now for the supporting cast:

Me, Jill. I am the assistant director at Bellarie's school. It is a crazy job sometimes but I really love it. I love Disney World. It is my happy place. I love watching my girls immersed in the magic.

http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f286/missjill5/Christmas%202012%20Disney%20Trip/IMG_8064.jpg

John, my DH. He is an engineer and sees things very differently from me. He really does enjoy going to Disney, he just has a different touring style. He likes to take it slow and stick to a plan. He was very excited to eat at Ohana again this trip.

http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f286/missjill5/Christmas%202012%20Disney%20Trip/IMG_8200.jpg

MeMom, my mom. My cohort in Disney crime. We enable each other. Also known as the elusive Hidden MeMom. You'll have to look close but you might catch her reflection in a mirror as she takes a picture. She loves having her family together at any time, but especially in her favorite place.

Trent. My little brother. Also known as Uncle Bubby. He loves his nieces to death. He is a big guy with a big heart. He enjoys Disney and all the good eating he gets to do while he is there.

http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f286/missjill5/Christmas%202012%20Disney%20Trip/332835_2628778831461_1015041877_2723090_2004353895 _o.jpg

Jarvis - Trent's friend. Also adopted member of the family. This was his 3rd trip with us. My girls absolutely adore him and this trip chose him over Uncle Bubby a couple of times. :rotfl:

http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f286/missjill5/Christmas%202012%20Disney%20Trip/396810_282507025130275_100001129384233_714027_2432 10671_n.jpg

My littlest brother Drew had to stay behind and work.

So that is the crew, we hope you enjoy the trip as much as we did!

Here is the whole crew (minus MeMom, of course) on New Years Eve!

http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f286/missjill5/Christmas%202012%20Disney%20Trip/IMG_8421.jpg

Thanks, everyone, for stopping long enough to get the group picture. The lights were especially beautiful this year. I am glad Jarvis got to see them.

First, let's introduce the true stars of all of our reports! My sweet girls, Brooklynn and Bellarie.

http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f286/missjill5/Christmas%202012%20Disney%20Trip/413894_2621291484282_1015041877_2719144_1791179064 _o.jpg

Oh yeah, that is surely Bella right in the midst of the characters - not even having to hold Brooklynn's hand. She rocked it out this trip! :cool1:

http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f286/missjill5/Christmas%202012%20Disney%20Trip/IMG_6902.jpg

We had to pull her new shoes off. One was rubbing a blister on the side of her foot.

Brooklynn is my oldest. She wants to be a vet when she grows up. Aladdin asked her to come to the palace and be their vet, but I am hoping she finds her way to Animal Kingdom. This was her 17th trip.

She will be a fantastic Animal Kingdom worker. :thumbsup2

Bellarie is my pixie-sized almost 3 year old. She is extremely independent and extremely fast! This trip she loved the characters and needed to see them all, especially the princesses, Minnie and Daisy. This was her 9th trip.

Faster than lightning, that girl is!!!

Me, Jill. I love Disney World. It is my happy place. I love watching my girls immersed in the magic.

And I like to watch my girl and my girl's girls immersed in the magic. :lovestruc

Glad I got that picture of Bella holding the box Mingo was in as quickly as I did.

May he rest in peace. :sad1:

John, my DH. He is an engineer and sees things very differently from me. He really does enjoy going to Disney, he just has a different touring style. He likes to take it slow and stick to a plan. He was very excited to eat at Ohana again this trip.

When well-fed and well-rested, he is good for about 3-5 days on a Disney trip. After that, he gets himself a few time-outs. :rolleyes1

http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f286/missjill5/Christmas%202012%20Disney%20Trip/IMG_8200.jpg

After waiting fooooreeeeveeer to get up there and get some really great on top of the park footage, my memory card ran out of space!

Outta space on Astro Orbiter....shoulda known, huh? ;)

MeMom, my mom. My cohort in Disney crime. We enable each other. Also known as the elusive Hidden MeMom. You'll have to look close but you might catch her reflection in a mirror as she takes a picture. She loves having her family together at any time, but especially in her favorite place.

A criminal for a mother? That's not cool at all. :sad2:

I did try getting some floating head reflection pictures on purpose this time. We'll see how those turn out. :)

Yes, spending time with my family is the best, and spending time with them in Disney World is beyond the best!

Trent. My little brother. Also known as Uncle Bubby. He loves his nieces to death. He is a big guy with a big heart. He enjoys Disney and all the good eating he gets to do while he is there.

Our Bubby. He does love those girls, and he does love food. ::yes::

Jarvis - Trent's friend. Also adopted member of the family. This was his 3rd trip with us. My girls absolutely adore him and this trip chose him over Uncle Bubby a couple of times. :rotfl:

Jarvis is a good guy. He tolerates Trent's craziness. He enjoys being around our family. He was ready for a getaway on this trip. He and Trent are thinking about going back down for a few days when we go in June. Don't know if it will happen, but Anita and Marc said they would be happy to have them again, so we will see. I hope they do get to go for at least 3-4 days.

My littlest brother Drew had to stay behind and work.

Maybe by summertime he will be ready to go again and he can ride down with Trent and Jarvis.

So that is the crew, we hope you enjoy the trip as much as we did!

We had a good time. I loved my family time, and we all enjoyed seeing DIS friends.

It was fun :santa: I did not complete everything on my mental list, but I got most of it.

Yay for starting! Can't believe I made page one :faint: I'm in!

You have to let us know when your trip report starts. I'm not good at just realizing that they exist in signatures, so be sure and tell us. :)

You are back in the cold north now. Any snow yet?

Thanks for the FB heads up! My Daniel would take an okapi for Christmas too I think!

Will do my best to keep up

Brooklynn loves her animals. Loves, loves, loves them! You can watch her eyes light up and the wheels in her head start turning when she nears a store with animals of any kind in it.

Hope you get to visit us often throughout the report, dear friend. :thumbsup2

Thanks for the heads up on FB! I'm sure I won't be able to keep up, but I enjoy seeing your adventures!

Maybe Jill will have time to keep those links caught up occasionally to make it easier on you. I make no promises, because everybody is busy, but maybe she can catch it up every so often. Would putting it on FB when there is a major picture update and not just chit chat help? Maybe she can do that.

Made it over! Can't wait to read and follow along!

So glad you are with us. Hope I have enough non-fuzzy pictures to keep you around.

I have some serious Disney fever right now. It's been close to a year since our last trip and I am dying to go back! Hopefully, this new TR of yours will help alleviate the fever a bit.

Ever since we have gotten back, things have been so hectic that I haven't been able to miss it too much. I have a feeling February will be hard to get through. I can't say what kind of convulsions I might be having it had been a year since I had been.

I am glad you made it home safe and sound. :)

The DIS is giving me fits this afternoon. Finally over here.

There is a not so hidden Poolrat with Jill and Bella. I had to look twice.

Poor mingo.

I saw that they are doing something to the servers and there will be temporary lapses of service.

I was scrolling through the pictures while Jill was on the phone, and I noticed the Hidden Poolrat.

Poor Bella. She wanted to hold that mingo so tight - she didn't even want me to take a picture of it. Little did we know...:rolleyes1 I wish I had gotten a good picture.

I'm here! Saw the link on FB. Page 2 already.

Hi:wave: I'm here, and ready to follow along on your Christmas Disney adventure.

I think things have settled down enough for us to begin. I have another observation not this week, but next, so it may be iffy until after that.

Did I miss something about Mingo? What happened?

Yes, poor Mingo was with us such a short time, I am sad to say. Anita gave it to Bella, and she held it tightly in her arms. She would barely let me see it to get a picture, so what you see is about all the evidence we have of it.

We were going to leave, but some of the others were going up in the Treehouse, so we decided to do that with them on the way out. Jill told Bella to let her put it in her bag, but Bella 'needed' to hold it. At the top, as we looked out and saw the beauty of a nighttime Magic Kingdom, Bella held her arm out - to point to something or just to move or I don't know exactly why - and Mingo sprouted wings and flew off.

And
down
down
down.

There was a gasp or two among the group. I thought Jill had dropped her phone! :scared1:

Poor Bella's lip began to quiver instantly and to Jill she asked/said, "And you will put it in your bag?" :rotfl:

Yeah, it's a little too late for that, kiddo.

She cried and the whole gang was looking down into the treetops trying to find Mingo.

This picture of the back of the box is about all we have left of Mingo. :sad2:

http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f286/missjill5/Christmas%202012%20Disney%20Trip/IMG_8064.jpg

We stopped by Guest Relations and left the information, so maybe someday Mingo will be found and returned to the little girl who loves mingos. I sure hope so!

looking forward to your adventures!

We don't hear from you too often, Dad. So glad you made it by. I was thinking about you guys a few days ago, and of course I thought about you in Canada, Epcot. :)

Yah to another Jill and MeMom trip!!! I love seeing Disney through your eyes!!!!!

That's sweet of you to say. We sure do enjoy going, so to come back and share it with others is a real pleasure.

There's always an easy chair or couch for everyone in the DIStown Community Hall. Glad you are here.

I am enjoying seeing Brook's pictures from Disneyland right now. I think Jill and the girls will get to see that one of these days, since John's job sends him out there occasionally.

I like to have enough DIS friends so that someone is in Disney World almost all the time sending back good pictures and updates. :wizard:

Yeah, it's a little too late for that, kiddo.

She cried and the whole gang was looking down into the treetops trying to find Mingo.

This picture of the back of the box is about all we have left of Mingo. :sad2:

http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f286/missjill5/Christmas%202012%20Disney%20Trip/IMG_8064.jpg

We stopped by Guest Relations and left the information, so maybe someday Mingo will be found and returned to the little girl who loves mingos. I sure hope so!

I am enjoying seeing Brook's pictures from Disneyland right now. I think Jill and the girls will get to see that one of these days, since John's job sends him out there occasionally.

I like to have enough DIS friends so that someone is in Disney World almost all the time sending back good pictures and updates. :wizard:

Oh, that is so sad!!! Poor Bella - no wonder she looked so sad in that picture!

I am enjoying Brook's pics too! Makes me want to go west! Someday...

The absence of MeMom makes the picture much better for your eyes. :)

Excuse me? Are you MY mom? You guys are exactly alike with photos! :rotfl: I got to witness history in Epcot, though...my mother LOVES the pyramid in Mexico and the little Mayan dude in the front, and asked me to take a picture of her with "her Mayan." Granted, she did ask me to take another picture the next day, because she didn't like the other ones, but history was definitely made in our family! I think my dad made some comment like, "good, now people will believe you WERE on vacation with us."

You have to let us know when your trip report starts. I'm not good at just realizing that they exist in signatures, so be sure and tell us. :)

You are back in the cold north now. Any snow yet?

I absolutely will. I kinda feel bad because I realized that I uploaded a ton of pics to Facebook, so anyone who's friends with me on there will have seen most of them already. I do have several I didn't upload so I might dump all those into a private album on Facebook so there are at least some surprise photos. I usually have to fight with FB to upload my pics, but they all have to be on there instead of Photobucket because Photobucket and I get along even less. :upsidedow

You know what's weird...the answer is no! I cannot remember the last time we went all the way to January with no snow. We had some snow at the end of October, but it was a total non-event in my area; maybe an inch of slushy stuff that melted immediately. Western Mass is what got hit the hardest with that ("Snow-tober" as all the news stations called it.) Last year was horrible because we got storm after storm and the temperatures were never above freezing, so it didn't even begin to melt till mid-March. Some people are upset with the lack of snow but I am FINE with it after last year!

We were talking luaus and Hoop De Doo Revues and such. I guess I didn't think about it.

Ok, now I feel a bit better. I did not get my list done either but I did manage a good bit.

My biggest failure was not getting to Wilderness Lodge. :sad1: The day we were going to transfer from somewhere to somewhere else via WL, John thought it would take too long, so we did something different. I truthfully almost took a cab early the last morning just to go over there and get pictures, but I thought it was crazy to spend so much money to go in, take pictures, and pay for a cab right back to Pop.

Oh no, poor Mingo. I hope he is found and returned. I am so glad to see Bella enjoying the characters. She is such a big girl now.

I'm guessing Mingo is having quite the adventure in Adventureland. :goodvibes

Bella was a champ with the characters. There were only a couple of times she didn't want to see some, but other than that, she was great!

We won't be a bit surprised if Brooklynn does a Disney College Program and/or works in Animal Kingdom.

Making the ADR did make the wait for the summer trip more exciting. :cool1:

Jill loaded all the pictures on her computer, so I am hoping she will have time to put them on Photobucket tonight or tomorrow. If not, I will get Drew to get some off this computer onto the external hard drive, then load the new ones, then get them onto Photobucket. The first memory card has 1800+ pictures on it. The second one has around 800.

Wow, page 4 already. I'm in and I'll try to keep up this time.

Maybe we can keep up with the Links on post #2 to help. I will have to count on Jill for that, too, as I don't know how to do it. All caught up, but I'm so sad about the Mingo. We'll have a look around next month for her.

If you see a mingo in the top of a Swiss Family Treehouse tree, it is most assuredly Bella's. Some in the group said they heard a thump and not a splash, so we do not think he made it to water.

Ok, I'm dying to know....What or who is Mingo???

Jill in CO

Anita, the gift giver extraordinaire, had just given Bella, lover of mingos (flamingos, to the general populations) a Christmas ornament mingo. Bella did not want to part with it - not letting me even glance at it and not letting Jill put it in her bag. Mingo apparently felt that Bella was going to be quite the possessive type and flew the coop (or the Treehouse, in this case) within minutes. :sad2: Bella shed many tears over her new friend, and if he comes back, I think she has learned her lesson about letting Mommy hold things while Treehouse climbing. :thumbsup2

I would say at a regular attraction or ride, we might have a chance. At the Treehouse, who knows if we will ever see Mingo again. At least he has plenty of bird friends in Magic Kingdom to keep him company.

I'd like to get a bird's-eye view of the Treehouse right now to see if we could spot Sir Mingo. ;)

I couldn't remember the term, but yes, the lights were noticeably brighter and so beautiful this year.

So far, we have had only a few very cold days, and nothing like we had last year. Maybe Mother Nature is taking pity on me, knowing there is no spring break trip to revive me in a couple of months. ;) Mostly I will be happy for the heating bill not to be sucking up all of my Disney dollars. ::yes::

Yeah, I will be glad when all of the walls are down, mostly for people who are taking their once in a lifetime Disney trip. They are not getting the best Magic Kingdom experience.

From after next week (another observation and mountains of paperwork/prep to go with it) until spring break, we will keep ourselves busy with trying to narrow down the 1001 ideas we have for Bella's Disney Princesses party. Since one fair lady was not the clear winner, it has been decided that they will be represented. Fun, yet very challenging, methinks.

I heard the bells on Christmas Day....

In Alabama, where the whole family had gathered, we awoke early and enjoyed watching the girls get into the things Santa had left them. They like to inspect each thing before moving to the next, so we had to speed them along the way a couple of times. Bella took her time with her stocking, so she really didn't even see very well a lot of what Santa brought her before we left.

We ate a light breakfast of pastries. Things were quiet and going at a good pace.....

until....

I decided I would go ahead and get my license and put it in the front pocket of purse for easy access when we got to the airport.

This was about fifteen minutes before we were going to be pulling out of the driveway.

My little blue 'pouch' that I keep said license in, along with my annual pass and my credit card

was

not

there.

No,

make that :scared1:!

I verbalized this to the group, and in quiet panic, I began to wonder where in the world it could be.

Do you remember how things went when the Home Alone family realized they had overslept?

Jill's house had a similar scene going on as everyone began turning things inside out and upside down to find the little blue pouch.

Jill went out to my car and became the hero when she found that it had overshot my purse after I had gotten gas on the way to her house and had landed in the floor.

I am certainly glad I thought about moving it to a different spot before we left for the airport, because I absolutely would have assumed it to be in my purse, and the panic would have begun at the airport check-in station.

Right before we left, too, my laptop went kaput. I still took it, thinking John could fix it while we were there, but I should have left it home, because he could not. It took an IT friend of mine several days to get it to behave, and it is still a little shaky from time to time.

Anyway, we loaded up the car,

and I do mean loaded.

http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f286/missjill5/Christmas%202012%20Disney%20Trip/December%2025th/IMG_6138.jpg

Santa Claus brought Brooklynn her own camera for Christmas, which is hanging from her arm. I truly enjoyed watching her take pictures.

We had only a short wait,

http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f286/missjill5/Christmas%202012%20Disney%20Trip/December%2025th/IMG_6139.jpg

http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f286/missjill5/Christmas%202012%20Disney%20Trip/December%2025th/IMG_6141.jpg

We were too busy with bags and strollers and restroom stops to get good MCO pictures, but I did stop to get the girls with Santa, who was visiting Orlando after his big ride.

http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f286/missjill5/Christmas%202012%20Disney%20Trip/December%2025th/IMG_6142.jpg

http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f286/missjill5/Christmas%202012%20Disney%20Trip/December%2025th/IMG_6143.jpg

The little boy you can kind of see in the picture had been given the trip from Santa. The parents had not packed until after he found out, because they didn't want to let the secret out, so they had certainly had a busy morning. They had a nice big notebook to help them out along the way. They had a lot of good ADR's, as I recall. They were very nice people.

We didn't wait long for a bus, and before long, the magic had really begun.

This trip included an anniversary celebration and a birthday.

http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f286/missjill5/Christmas%202012%20Disney%20Trip/December%2025th/IMG_6155.jpg

I should mention here that the birthday boy was supposed to be watching the girls in the TV area while we were checking in. Brooklynn found the TV and was set for life, or at least good for an hour without blinking, but Bella, the escape artist, was spotted by her Mommy (from Gem's counter) making her way to Everything Pop at a leisurely pace.

The birthday boy had acquired his first strike of the trip. :rolleyes1

With Bella safely ensnared by Jill, we continued our check-in.
We were first assigned the Roger Rabbit building, but after I said I had been in that building twice, Gem asked if I would like a different area. I said, "Sure, see what else you have and we'll decide." She made a call and they offered second floor in the jukebox, so we took that.

After we got our paperwork, we went to check out my tree.

I'm glad the wallet was quickly found! What a scare.

I am impressed that you all fit into one car, even if you did have to share your seat with a stroller.

What a great Christmas!

I'm here! Actually, I was here yesterday, but didn't successfully post via my new smartphone, which, apparently, I still can't drive yet. Finally, life is settling down some after a crazy fall & holidays (travel, mom in & out of the hospital, computer & phone breakdowns, etc.). Throughout all that, the MeMom gang gave me periodic respite & reason to be thankful. :grouphug: I'm so glad to be back on board for the latest adventure.
Belated Happy New Year to all!

Scary thing when you think you lost something. I bet the feeling was similar to the one I had last year as I was laying in bed at our Fort Lauderdale hotel as I remembered I lerft my camera in the rental. A rental that we had returned 5 hours earlier at the airport. :scared1: Glad everything was quickly located and you were on your way.

Still love seeing those pictures of Pop.

That gingerbread castle looks AMAZING! I can't build gingerbread houses because I want to eat everything edible.

Ahhh, Pop Century. I was just there and I already want to be back! We were right near the Hippy Dippy pool. :goodvibes We were in building 4, the building to the left of the Play-Doh (if you were facing it), but kinda in the back. That area was a first for us and I loved it! It was awesome leaving the food court and walking past the pool every day.

I have my TR intro all typed up...just trying to figure out if I can get the pictures smaller. They show up normal, Facebook size on Facebook, but when I post them, they come up larger and it's driving me insane! I'm afraid the glasses pictures being that large will scare people :rotfl:

Some call it brave. More often, it is called crazy. :crazy2:

I'm glad the wallet was quickly found! What a scare.

I am impressed that you all fit into one car, even if you did have to share your seat with a stroller.

What a great Christmas!

Whew on finding that license! That was some drama I do not want to repeat. Ever.

It was a tight fit in that car, but we did it! Skinnybones Jill sat in between the two car seats.

Good to see ya! I was just over on your report a few minutes ago.

Yikes!! I remember commenting on facebook that the trip certainly got off to an eventful start between the license, laptop and escape artist Bella! I can just imagine the rising panic you felt thinking your license was lost. :scared1: thank goodness the drama didn't last too long!

I am not one for drama, period, but when it comes to Disney drama, I want nothing to do with it!!!

So which house did you vote for?

We never did vote. I am the world's worst decision maker. I felt bad voting for one hard worker over another. Brooklynn said she liked the Toy Story one.

I'm here! Actually, I was here yesterday, but didn't successfully post via my new smartphone, which, apparently, I still can't drive yet. Still love seeing those pictures of Pop.

I was not going to be making a flight if I didn't have a driver's license, so it was pretty scary for a few minutes.

Pop is doing some fun things around the pool now - lots of games and dance parties throughout the day and movies on a big screen at night.

Oh no! You really need wallet stuff to get off the ground! Hooray for making it home for Christmas!!!

I would have been SICK if I had gotten to the airport without a license!

I am so glad you found wallet. I am sure you enjoyed reading about muscle building. ;) I am sad you didn't make it to WL.:sad1:

The magazines stayed in the car. I had a Disney Celebrations magazine I had planned to read, but nooooooo.... :sad2:

I am sorry I did not get to WL, too, but I made wishes from afar. Maybe I'll send in my quarters and have a cast member throw them in so the wishes will be sure to come true. ;)

You made it! Glad Jill saw Bella trying to escape! Love the Christmas platter!

Doing a little trip scheming....I think I found my argument for going in Oct. 2013, Hannah will still be kids price if we waited till summer 2014 (like Ben wants to) she will be adult price.

I think that is a perfectly logical reason to back the trip up. ::yes::

However, our little Hannah cannot be anywhere near becoming a Disney adult!

:lmao: Those magazines that the boys gave you are so funny!!!

Poor Bella, she just wanted to check out the gift shop. Glad Jill saw her. That would have been so scary.

I love the girls suitcases.

I wanted Disney reading. Trent had muscle stuff. Drew had camera stuff. I passed on both. I enjoyed talking with Brooklynn and watching her do artwork.

Bella would have found her way to the food or the toys. It might have been interesting to trail her and see where she went.

That gingerbread castle looks AMAZING! I can't build gingerbread houses because I want to eat everything edible.

We have stayed in the Play-Doh building, too. We like anything 50's through 70's better than the 80's and 90's, but it easy to get to the bus stop from some of the 80's buildings, so that's a plus.

I wonder if we will come to love other resorts in the future and feel as much at home at them as we do at Pop?

I love Bella's Muppets shirt!!! So cool that they are making a comeback for this generation. I wore a Muppets shirt to DHS and the CM at TSMM liked it so much she gave me back our FP so we could ride again.

I would love to spend Christmas Day that way. My DH won't give in on that one though. He thinks we need to be at home on holidays. I can understand that because I am a traditionalist too, but sometimes it would be nice to skip all the family drama associated with the holidays and go to my happy place.

Interesting reading material you had there. I could probably entertain myself with the Shutterbug one, but the muscle mag would just make me depressed about how out of shape I am. I would have left that one behind.

We've stayed in the 80's and 90's, and stayed in the 70's the past couple times, and definitely liked the 70's locations better. This time, we requested preferred rooms again, but didn't request any specific location. And I am SO sentimental that I can't imagine feeling as much at home at another resort as I do at Pop. Thanks, everyone, for stopping long enough to get the group picture. The lights were especially beautiful this year. I am glad Jarvis got to see them.

The lights were really pretty this year! I love to look at them!!

And I like to watch my girl and my girl's girls immersed in the magic. :lovestruc

Glad I got that picture of Bella holding the box Mingo was in as quickly as I did.

May he rest in peace. :sad1:

I thought that was the Mingo!!! Poor Mingo!!

We had a good time. I loved my family time, and we all enjoyed seeing DIS friends.

It was nice seeing you too!

The DIS is giving me fits this afternoon. Finally over here.

There is a not so hidden Poolrat with Jill and Bella. I had to look twice. :lmao:

Poor mingo. :sad2:

I thought I saw a hidden Poolrat!!!

We love having our DIS buds come back again and again. :)

I can't say the report will be fabulous, but seeing Disney at Christmas again certainly was. I loved seing all the huge trees again.

I loved seeing all the trees too!

:thumbsup2

It was good to meet you. It was dark on NYE. I can't see in the dark. You guys were there, and then you weren't!

I am glad you got to spend some good old Marc and Anita throughout the trip. :thumbsup2

Poolrat, Lauren, Ricky, and I were sitting on the beach in the chairs watching the fireworks. I'm glad I got to meet you too! I should've talked to you more on NYE though! Next time!!!! It was good seeing Anita and Marc too!! :)

I decided to go to the gym, and do a bit of shopping today, even talked to a certain MeMom today and look how late I am!!!!

You didn't find any more charms, did you???:rotfl:

I did find another Mingo for Bella, when it gets here, I'll send it on, plus a little something I had for Brook. Now in the meantime there is the box on it's way as of today with the plushies that I forgot to pack in December and a little something for MeMom who doesn't tell her friend about the new TR...:rolleyes1

glad you found another mingo for Bella!! She will be excited!

Christmas in Disney World is fun when you bring your loved ones with you. :thumbsup2 We had a good Christmas Eve together and then had the morning, and we knew the guys were coming in a few days. I do wish Drew could have come, though.

I would have read the photography magazine before the muscle one, but I left them both in the car. I surely know how terribly out of shape I am. In DIStown, we would so have an awesome walking club, and we would all be in great shape! :thumbsup2

I'm here! And I made it just in time for the first installment. Glad you found your wallet and that Bella didn't get too far before you spotted her. That's two disasters avoided.....looks like you had some Christmas miracles happening there!

Yeah, I just mentioned that I had stayed there twice, and she asked if I wanted something different. Jill has not stayed in Roger Rabbit, so it would have been okay to stay there, but we seem to like 50's, 60's, and 70's better than the computer pool area.

I guess when you have comfy chairs, you better keep them. We'll have to bring a bunch of them up by the room next time.

I am glad you got to have the nice dinner(s) with Marc and Anita. They are good folks.

Oh, my! What a whirlwind departure! Thank goodness you were able to find your wallet before you left! Too funny about the reading material your boys offered to loan you. Somehow, I don't quite see you reading either one. LOL!

John, John, John...was he as engrossed in the television show as Brooklyn was when Bella sauntered off?

Hurray for heading to the Magic Kingdom!

He was testing out his new Christmas toy. He didn't have to worry about Brooklynn. She wasn't going to move. Bella watches TV for a minute, but then she's off to explore.

Oh, no! I can just picture it! She definitely needs to run track when she is older!

Go ahead and clear a spot on the mantle for trophies. ;)

Oh I HATE that feeling when you lose something! It's the worst!! I'm so glad it was found safe & sound!

And John, John....those kiddos are quick when they want to make a run for it!!

He learned his lesson, I bet.

The funny thing is, he was worried about me taking Brooklynn to WDW in October and losing her, so he had to swallow a little pride for a minute there.

In his defense, sometimes it takes all three of us to corral Bella, especially at bus stops. She darts, so we form a fence on all sides of her with our bodies, strollers, etc. :goodvibes

Glad your wallet was found MeMom! I remembered reading that on FB. I hate to lose something.

Whew, Bella is fast! Poor John playing with his phone. Thank goodness Jill diverted that disaster.

I was going to comment about how precious Bella was in the introduction photo with the characters when it dawned on me that all the characters was in it. I bet that means you had something special happen at Epcot that day!!! I can't wait to see if I am right. :rolleyes1

Yay for a Christmas/NY report! Can't wait to hear all about your adventures, the great shopping, and see those precious little girls that everyone has come to adore! :goodvibes

Our 2009 trip, the first for my husband and 6 year old and my first since high school, we stayed in the jukebox building on the backside. We were there for the week after Thanksgiving, and it was nothing short of a dream trip with all of the Christmas decor and magic. It will always hold a special place in our hearts. :lovestruc

Yikes on the lost pouch, I would have had a nervous breakdown right there!! :lmao:

So glad Bella was caught in the nick of time! What an independent little lady you have on your hands Jill!

Looking forward to more!

I'm always so terrified of losing something on a trip. I'm completely neurotic about checking to make sure I have everything. I probably check and re-check my bags about 5 times before we go to the airport. And then I check my park bag about a million times during the day to make sure nothing has jumped out.

Seeing those Magical Express pictures just got me all excited :hyper: I found the whole ME music loop on youtube the other day. This is part 1: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lauATHP1aAg

Poor Mingo... :sad2: I wouldn't be surprised if he shows up on your doorstep one day. When Tim lost his wallet, they found it a few days later when they did a big cleaning of the floor under RnRC. They mailed it to us right away... at their cost of course. :thumbsup2

I had one runner & one wanderer. Alex would bolt anywhere if we didn't keep cose tabs on him. We kept him strapped into a stroller as long as we possibly could. Zach was more of a wanderer, just following anything that interested him. I'm so glad those days are over! Glad you didn't lose Bella when she decided to go shopping!

Looks like you were off to a great start!

I'm so glad you have the first section up. It sounded like a very stressful morning before you left for the airport. Not a good start to a magical trip! I bet even though the girls didn't have long to undo their presents that they appreciated playing with them when they got home. I love their little travel cases. How sweet. It sounds like Bella had shopping on her mind when she was off on her solo trip to everything pop! Frazer was never that brave. He clung onto my hand for all he was worth when out and about. Even now,at ten years old he still won't be brave enough to go out of my sight when out in public. I kind of wish he had a bit of Bellas confidence:rolleyes:

I always put my little blue pouch in the same place in my purse, so not seeing it there immediately, I knew something was very wrong. I guess I tossed it at my purse rather than placed it carefully inside after I got gas. You cannot know how many times I will be checking it next time!!!

I have done the toss, and miss before. Most times when I have to stop suddenly, my purse will roll to the floor and then I have collect everything and hope I got it all.

I will say when we left the house we did not have to go back 3 times like the last trip. :rolleyes1

It was funny, because Jill said she thought that little kid looked like Bella, and then she realized it was Bella!

At least she did not dismiss her sighting because John was looking after the girls so it couldn't possibly be her.

Yeah, I just mentioned that I had stayed there twice, and she asked if I wanted something different. Jill has not stayed in Roger Rabbit, so it would have been okay to stay there, but we seem to like 50's, 60's, and 70's better than the computer pool area.

I have in been in the RR building and I agree about the 50's 60's and 70's. Those building just seem easier to navigate to and from. I like going through the food court to fill up my mug. When I stayed in RR it seems like I went around the building more and had to walk out of the way to get a drink.

It sure was a feeling of great relief when she walked in the front door holding up that blue pouch! :thumbsup2

I bet it was. I don't even want to think about how it would have gone if you didn't look until you reached the airport. :scared1:

I guess when you have comfy chairs, you better keep them. We'll have to bring a bunch of them up by the room next time.

Anita and Marc snagged the chairs when Elena and I got there. I just bounced back and forth. :)

He was testing out his new Christmas toy. He didn't have to worry about Brooklynn. She wasn't going to move. Bella watches TV for a minute, but then she's off to explore.

I think Bella was so comfortable at POP that she knew where she was going. She just didn't let anyone know or get permission. ;) Once she saw Jill chasing her she knew she was busted.

He learned his lesson, I bet.

The funny thing is, he was worried about me taking Brooklynn to WDW in October and losing her, so he had to swallow a little pride for a minute there.

Ihad one wanderer and a runner too. I told my runner to keep up with Bella since I thought if anyone could predict where she was going, it would be him.

On our first trip in '98 we thought we would lose the wanderer, but we lost the runner instead. Just for a minute, but we were so busy trying not to lose the wanderer, and the runner is a rule follower so he stuck with us but took his eye off us for a minute .....

I am so glad that Jill found your pouch. I can just imagine how you felt. My situation was a bit different, but I can relate. I lost my keys on a trip this summer. We were 4 hours from home without a spare key. We were just about to have the car towed to the dealer because they said they couldn't make the kind of key we needed without the car. Just as I was about to make the call, we found the keys! We had been looking for FIVE hours! I have now learned my lesson and have a spare key.

I got to see my girls for a couple of hours today. John had taken them to KY to pick Ben up and to give Jill the weekend alone to get some things done and to have some peace and quiet. They stopped here to eat lunch and take a break from the car. I was so glad to see them. :goodvibes

This was our second stay in the jukebox building. Once we were ground floor right at the pool, and that was really nice. In October, we were ground floor right by the computer pool right under Roger Rabbit, but I still like the bowling pin pool better. Really, anything from the Mickey Phone and Big Wheel over to the other side of the resort is okay by me.

I just like being there, though, so I will be happy with what I get if they can't offer anything else.

It makes me smile to know that you had a truly magical trip! :wizard:

Brooklynn sticks close by, and she always did. Bella is an explorer, and she doesn't yet comprehend the fear of losing us. It might do her some good to have a good 'scare' one of these days to keep her a little closer. It might be good for her to be in a spot where Jill can see her, but she can't see Jill, and let her get a little humbled about how far she can wander off.

The short time the license was 'lost', I was stressed, but I knew it was somewhere. I knew I had it when I got gas, and I had been nowhere else. I really thought it was in the house, though, and not in the car. I am glad Jill thought to go out there pretty quickly. I was spinning my wheels figuring out how I was going to get to Florida later in the day so that they could go on.

I needed Chris one day when the girls and I were going back to the room and Bella decided to take the stairs instead of the elevator. I was holding a tray of food when that little bolt of lightning took off. I had Brooklynn chase her down until I could get to a place to put the food down. I let her know in no uncertain terms that I was not happy with that! Anita said it would be fun for Bella to stay this summer with Brooklynn and me for the 4th, but Bella has to mature before I can have her alone. She's too fast and too implulsive still. I think when she is five she will have settled down a little and I will be able to take her on a 'big girl' trip, like I did with Brooklynn. If I don't feel like I can, I'll wait until she's 6 or 7. I would not want anything at all to happen to my girl!

The girls do feel comfortable at Pop. They know the way around the whole place. Maybe that made for some overconfidence on Bella's part this time.

I was lucky that Kathy had pulled their two chairs in, and then cast members brought them two more during the day. I was happy to have a great seat, but I would have loved to have had everyone up there with us.

I was trying to think of what I could come home and get - birth certificate or school ID or whatever could be put together so that I could get a later flight out. I knew the license had to be somewhere in the house, but with all of the people and suitcases and Christmas toys and such, I had no idea where. I didn't think for a second that it was in the car, because I thought I had put it back in my purse, of course.

We like the early flights so that we can get the most of our day. Had it not been Christmas morning, we would have been in WDW by the time we were leaving Huntsville, but the girls needed to have a little bit of a Christmas. They were super excited about the trip, though, and really were more into leaving than they were into their toys. They had Christmas again when they got home and had time to play with their new things.

I like it when we are saying, "We still have lots of days left to do such and such." I don't like it when we have to say, "There are only two days left, so we better get it in!"

AirTran is less forgiving than Southwest. Not sure how that would have played out had you had to go all the way home. Of course then you would have found it on your floorboards, when you got far enough away.

I am so glad Jill thought to look out in the car. :dance3:

The holiday stuff is fun to look at. I did a very good job of not spending much money on souvenirs this time, though. I'd love to have a bunch of the big ornaments to load a big, beautiful tree, but I think I have resigned myself to a small tree from here on out. It's much simpler to put it up and then put it away when it is all over. :santa:

It might be good for her to be in a spot where Jill can see her, but she can't see Jill, and let her get a little humbled about how far she can wander off.

That's what I did with Jamie. She used to hide in the cloths racks in stores and wouldn't answer when I called. So I hid where she couldn't see me. I waited until she got good and frantic because she couldn't find me before I came out. She never wandered off again!

Memom, I travel a good bit for business, and I thought that I knew of someone that had lost their ID right before a flight, and that they were still able to fly. So, I looked it up to see what the policy is.

If you lose your ID before boarding a domestic flight, you will still be able to travel on your flight, according to two recent articles siting a TSA source, and the TSA website. According to the articles, you show up for your flight early to allow extra time, and explain your situation to the TSA agent at the security checkpoint. They will have you fill out some paperwork, and then you may be subject to additional interviews and search / screening, but you will probably be on your way in a relatively short time.

It's good to know that all is not lost if it does happen to someone out there :thumbsup2

DD is also a runner. She thinks it is a really fun game to run down aisles and hide from me  She is still at the age though that if I pretend that I am going to leave her, she comes running. I know that is only going to last so long. I probably need to hide from her once and let her get a little paniced so maybe she will learn a lesson.

I did that with at least one of my kids, but I can't remember the exact circumstance. Possibly Drew. Jill liked shopping. Trent hated shopping. He wouldn't have hidden, though. He would have just found a seat and let me know how bored he was. Yeah, it was probably Drew. ::yes::

MeMom, how was AirTran? We have never flown with them before but are looking at them for after our March cruise.

We all agree we prefer Southwest. AirTran was not bad, but we're used to more space and no luggage charges on SW. There was very little leg room, I thought.

That is good to know, but I hope to never ever have a scare like that again! I might even have felt better if we were taking SW, since they have my flight history, thinking maybe they could identify me in some way, but this was the first time on AirTran. I am just really, really glad that the license and the credit card were found! :woohoo:

Charles does that, too, but with his house key! Before pulling the door shut behind him, he has to make sure he has the right set of keys at least twice. He and I both have a LOT of little quirks like that and agree that any future children of ours are gonna have a lot, too.

Glad Jill found your "pouch"!! My heart sank just reading about it. I get so nervous when I am trying to find my KTTW card or something & I do not find it right off.

Every time I see a "mingo" I think of Bella. So sorry she lost hers.:sad1: She looked so sad in that picture.

I was on the phone with Disney yesterday. I booked a villa at BC back in Oct. for our April trip this year. I booked it back in Oct. to be sure to get a room with the thought that when the AP discounts come out I can call & get the discount applied. Well they only take 5% off for BC villas because it is so popular. So I asked about a regular room & I could get 35% off. Well no rooms available. Yacht Club-no rooms available. We are now booked at Boardwalk (1 bedroom villa) & got the 35% off. I am bummed because I was so looking forward to staying at BC again because the boys have not stayed there yet. Oh well still lucky to be going again.

Have a great week!!

Charles does that, too, but with his house key! Before pulling the door shut behind him, he has to make sure he has the right set of keys at least twice. He and I both have a LOT of little quirks like that and agree that any future children of ours are gonna have a lot, too.

Better safe than sorry. I have said that to my kids a few million times. ;)

I am finally here!!

I love the suitcases for the girls.:goodvibes

Lucky to be going, and lucky to be staying at a beautiful resort right at the back door of Epcot. I would take any of the three over there, but I would admittedly like Beach Club best. Can't wait to see your April pictures! :cool1:

I think the mingo has to be the certain mascot of DIStown, doesn't it?

I'm late but I am in!!! So glad you have started this lovely Christmas trip. I followed along on Facebook and now cannot wait to hear all about it, MeMom and Jill. It's fun because I even got to speak to you on the phone one of those days MeMom. Again, thank you so much for picking that ornament up for me. I hope the check made it to you by now! Can't wait to read more!!

I was glad to find a rack that anything 2011 yet. That was the only one I found. I got the check today, as a matter of fact. :thumbsup2

Yay! I'm here and ready to read along!!

Looks like DIStown North (our Canada contingent) continues to grow! :dance3: Glad to have you along!

Ahhhhhh.....the castle lighting. So pretty! So glad I got to see that in 2008. It will be a few years before we get back down during the holidays, but it will happen again one day. Can't wait until Seth sees it! I'm thinking he'll be around 5 when we go for Christmas again. :goodvibes

Brooklynn is so cute with her camera bag! She looks very grown-up waiting for her bag. :thumbsup2

I LOVE the castle all lit up. There were still Christmas decorations last week too, so if anyone goes the first week or second week of January, it appears they still leave them up for a while.

I think the state bird of DisTown SHOULD be the Mingo, for sure!! That'd be perfect!!

Castle lighting is the #1 thing I would like to do / see at Disney. I have seen the lights, done the parties, and while I want to do Flower and Garden, I am sure that the Christmas lights and decorations I would enjoy more. Always loving your report... such fun to see after a school day.

I'd love to have a bunch of the big ornaments to load a big, beautiful tree, but I think I have resigned myself to a small tree from here on out. It's much simpler to put it up and then put it away when it is all over. :santa:

I kind of wish I could afford to have someone do set up and take down, although it probably wouldn't be nearly as fun. My MIL got up to 17 or 19 trees one year. They would start decorating trees in October, have a party for family and friends on Thanksgiving weekend to decorate the rest, and then it would be March or April before everything was put away again. It was crazy, but beautiful!

You are doing a good job of pulling in the Disney reins, Dawn. You have more willpower than I do. We only have two trips this year, and I am struggling with that number. Of course, the numbers in my bank account make the final decision, so there is not much I can do about it, willpower or not!

We made a big deal about Brooklynn's first bag check, and she felt like a grown girl. She really is maturing so much. I look at the pictures of both the girls and miss them so much. I get to see them pretty often, but every time I put pictures on the report, I want to go back to how it is on trips - seeing them daily. :lovestruc

I wonder what day the last decoration comes down. I saw someone's pictures, and Pop's Christmas tree came down about two days after we left, I think.

In DIStown, a plastic mingo on every lawn!

I love the castle lighting. We were lucky enough to sit at the rope in front of the castle with NO ONE in front of us and watch it. It is so pretty!

We got there late, so we were back pretty far, but we could still see, and we had seen it before, so it was all good. Making a show of the lighting is a cute idea. :)

Sometimes it takes that special person to think clearly and at that moment she was that person. :goodvibes

Jill's nice half was thinking of where the pouch was. Her mean half was thinking that she was going to kill me dead if it did turn up, I'm sure.

I'm glad her nice half won out. :goodvibes

I am glad you are getting to hang out with us again, Laura. Seems like you had a stretch where you didn't get to DIS hardly at all.

The kids will enjoy the castle lighting show, too. It's a cute little play, and then the castle is just breathtaking as it lights up little by little.

I hope you get to a Flower & Garden Festival, too. There is something really special about Epcot in the spring after a cold winter back at home.

Wowser on the trees! I bet they are beautiful! I have Jill my big tree a long time ago. It is a full, pretty tree, and it looks great at her house. I close my big family room off in the winter, because it's downstairs and not on the central air sytem. The baseboard heat costs too much to run down there, so I don't have a place for a big tree. I have a maybe 3-4 foot one that I set up on a table, so it gives an illusion of being taller. It's perfect for all of my small ornaments. I enjoy putting it up, but I don't enjoy taking the ornaments off. Makes me sad. When I look at the huge ornaments on the Disney trees, it makes me want a big tree with lots of big stuff on it, but I know realistically I am better off with the little one.

Ahhh....love the arrival pics.
I can put myself right back at POP in the lobby seeing the tree for the first time.
With the holiday music in the background, it was awesome.

I don't blame Bella for wanting to get into Everything POP cause that was my first stop too. First purchases were 2012 tees and ears for NYE.

Our next stop was food, so we passed by those gingerbread houses. I enjoyed them all too. Lexi liked the Jack marshmallow.

First meal was Chicken Penne....yummy perfection!

We were lucky enough to have Gem check us in too! Our room was ready and in a perfect spot. Ground floor, building 4 Play Doh, third room down on the first wing. We couldn't have asked for better.
Very short walk to the hall, bus and right around the corner from the pool. :woohoo:
And yes Lexi did swim...it was lovely the first few days and even when it was freezing and the life guards were in full track suits complete with hats...she swam too. :lmao:
Bus driver made jokes that he could tell who the Canadians were by how we dressed. :)
In all the times we have been to POP we have never gotten a room in the 50's. You are very lucky.

We had lounge chairs while we waited on NYE...wish I knew you could move them up by the room. Oh well, we made someone happy when we gave them up.
I had no idea Poolrat & Wig'd were right behind us that whole time on the beach.

I have to say that I have never seen anything more stunning than the castle all lit up and twinkling. Amazing!
Lexi was in awe of how you barely see them during the day but at night...WOW!
I was teary seeing it for the first time.
Later, when I saw "Memories and You" I actually got all misty. Loved it!

Have a great day all! We are on day two of freezing rain & snow. Doesn't make for an easy drive to work.

So Disney every single year just isn't in our financial picture right now. But we have both agreed to try our best to go as often as we can when Seth starts asking us specifically for it. Our next trip is planned for May 2013, when he will be 2.5. Then we're thinking we'll go back in December 2015 when he's 5. But that's way off so we'll just have to see about that. I'm a little neurotic, too. I check to be sure I have my keys in my hand 2-3 times before I lock the car door. That's why I was getting my driver's license ready that morning. I am glad I was neurotic in time to do something about the following catastrophe!!!

I watch Disney youtube videos at least twice a month. :)

I do that too!!! My mom's car has the lock button on her key so she just uses that so she can't lock her keys in the car. I wish mine had that. I'm always so afraid of locking my keys in my car.

Brooklynn's face and body language tell the story. She thought she was a pretty big deal with her camera, and then to be big enough to be bag checked - her reaction was pretty cute.

I wonder how many years they will keep the castle lights like that before they change to something else. I have heard rumors that they may move to a more high-tech decoration kin to what they do with Magic, Memories, and You.

I found it interesting that Gem didn't know that there were tables and chairs out by the Bowling Pin Pool. I guess she had not taken a tour of the entire resort. We were conversing about the nice room we had had poolside one year and just being able to walk right out the door and sit at 'our' table. I really do love it. The initial startup fee with my agency was no fun (like $300 I think, but that was in 2009) but I just used some of my tax refund that year to pay for it. And I love that my clients don't have to pay me a nickel - Disney pays my commission so it costs them exactly the same to book through me as it does through Disney. And I like that I don't have to advertise - almost all of my business comes through client referrals and word of mouth, so I don't have to "bug" people about booking vacations. I have a Facebook page and that's pretty much it. And the big bonus is you get paid for it! It's not much, but it can contribute to a Disney fund or whatever else you want to use it for. :)

Brooklynn looks so cute and proud getting her camera inspected. LOVE IT!!!!

I also have no reason when it comes to Disney trips. Spend it and start saving to do it again is the name of the game. :upsidedow. And I wouldn't have it any other way. Unless of course I were just independently wealthy and could visit any old time.

:lovestruc

She is so proud of having to get her bag checked. A right of passage for sure. :thumbsup2

I'm late but I finally made it over!
I remember reading about John getting in trouble on Facebook! Good thing Jill is quick! My youngest was the same way! He could get away from ya in the blink of an eye!
I love the castle at Christmas time! Last time I was there to see it was in 2007! Can't wait to see it again!
Looking forward to more!

I'm a little late but I've found you all! :)

I love the shot of MeMom in the car with all the bags/strollers on top! I've been there-done that!

Brooklyn looks soo cute waiting for her bag to be checked!

My DS has been asking about every week to go back to Disney. He always gets this really sad face and asks if we can go back. It breaks my heart cause that's how I feel too! :rotfl: I tell him we have to save our money (and it's not like we didn't just go in September!) and then we'll go.

Just popping in to say 'hi' and glad to say I'll be following along again.
I've been away from the Dis for such a long time - almost since our own trip last August - I've missed so much of your previous TR but hoping to find a bit more time again and keep up with this one. I love reading your TRs!

Ah, that Big Girl Brooklyn!! She's too cute!

I LOVE the castle lights!!! I had it on my desktop on my old PC for so long - not even just during Christmas season. It's just too pretty!

Boy, Main Street looked pretty darn busy!! I'm anxious to hear how it was and what you did on Christmas.

Magic Kingdom was most certainly busy that night. We did not stay long. We just wanted to be there for a short time, and we had plans to meet Wigd and crew before their Crystal Palace meal, as well.

The lit up castle is nice to look at for more than just the Christmas season. :thumbsup2

Brooklynn getting her bag inspected is SO cute! She looks very happy to be in that line. :cutie:

We didn't get to see the actual castle lighting show, because I think they might have stopped that by the time we got there. The lights were on, though, and that was all I cared about. I am thrilled that I finally got to see them in person!

You can youtube it. It's cute. Very short, too, so standing in the crowd is not a big deal for that length of time.

I just don't know when I would make calls for people. I'm tied up all day, so I don't know if I could only do that at night or not. It's on the back burner for now, although it does seem like a lot of DISers are doing it. Extra Disney money does sound very tempting!

I love how proud and happy Brooklynn is to have her camera inspected! She is so adorable! MK looks beautiful for Christmas....I love the castle lighting show! I got goosebumps just looking at your pictures!:thumbsup2

Soon Brooklynn will be wanting her own Bagallini. ;)

Yay for being at Pop!! I didn't realize the pool is open 24 hours/day. Is that year round?

Look at big stuff Brooklynn! :thumbsup2

Was the park really, really crowded? I think Cindy sure has a pretty castle. Do you think she would let us live there with her? :goodvibes

I think you can swim any time, as long as there is no sign out and you are quiet, but the lifeguard hours are limited. We've seen people swimming as late (early) as 2 in the morning. I've seen people swimming at 6 a.m., too. For me to swim, I need there to be no one around, so I guess from maybe 3-5 a.m. would be my time, right? :goodvibes

YAY for your first picture of Magic Kingdom at Christmas!!! I can't imagine anything more delightful to begin a trip than seeing the Christmas Lights come on Cinderella's castle! Someday I will make it there!!!! For now I will happily live through your pictures!!!

We are happy to share the pictures, but you need to see it all for yourself, as well. Have you never been during the Christmas to New Year's week?

Oh I miss that beautiful castle! :lovestruc

Shore was purty, wasn't it? :goofy:

What a great start on Christmas day! I can only imagine the excitement all over again. I agree, the first couple of steps in MK are wonderful!!!

I have too much junk to carry, so I have to have a bag. I really have come to just like a backback, which frees up both hands. I have my 'seeing' glasses for if I want to see a faraway show in detail, my sunglasses, if I am not wearing them, ponchos, wet wipes, moleskin, bandaids, ziplock bags, snacks, and sometimes an extra pair of shoes.

Making the first walk down Main Street and just basking in the glory that we are there again is such a good feeling!

Wealthy sounds good. Maybe I could get us some DVC points and Jill could stay at Boardwalk like she wants to. :)

I have a retirement plan, so I am hoping that between that, what I get out of my house when it is sold, whatever part-time (or new full-time) job I have, and the kindness of my children, I will able to live a semi-comfortable life and still make a couple of Disney trips a year. We'll see, if I ever get to retirement.

She is so proud of having to get her bag checked. A right of passage for sure. :thumbsup2

Yep. She had no idea why he was checking it. She probably thought he was just admiring her new camera.

Did you notice her with it in the ME line a few pages back? ;)

Subbing in so I don't lose the link. I have to say that I'm jealous of little Brooklyn and all of her visits! :thumbsup2 She is one lucky girl!!

She is a lucky girl. I hope she will always love the experience and not think it gets old or boring after a while. When I was talking to Jill this morning, Bella was in the backseat saying she was ready to go to Dizhy Wuhld today. :lovestruc

Jill did tell the girls we were eating in the castle this summer, and she said they were both quite excited, especially Brooklynn, since she has a little better grasp on the meaning of that.

I love the pictures you capture. Brroklyn at bag check is so cute.

Thanks. I just shoot the pictures to try to make everyone who sees them be able to feel like they are right there in that spot. Some of the pictures are silly, but I might think it's a place where the viewer can use his/her senses to add to the picture to 'be there'.

Brooklyn certainly looks like she thinks she is big stuff having her bag inspected. :rotfl: I wish standing in that line was still a thrill for me.

Bag check is so iffy. I try to put all the little things in a gallon bag. I open the zipper, pull the bag up where they can see the bottom, and I am usually through it pretty quickly. There is not consistency at all in the checkers.

It will happen for you. :goodvibes

We have a warming trend on the way. We are supposed to have highs in the 50's for most of the next ten days, but there will be some rain. Those temperatures are wonderful for us for January. Even though I won't be so thrilled with the rain, I will be happy that the heater won't be running ovetime like it was in our frigid temperatures last winter.

I might move to Florida, too, if I could get my entire family to go. I really do like the seasons here in TN, and I would probably miss that. I think some of the northerners have it right - stay up north for the summer and go to Florida in the winter. :thumbsup2

Your TR is off to a great start! I'd love, love, love to go at Christmas, by my DH is against it. We've gone the last week of January both times and the crowds are so low, he can't imagine going when it is busy. However, as the kids get older, it is more difficult for them to miss school. I'm also considering trying to get a full time teaching job, so a school year trip will be out for sure.

Big news for your area with a new theme park! How exciting! My parents have a cabin in Pigeon Forge and love going to Dollywood. I'm sure the new park will be very nice!

It would be easy to get spoiled to going during the off-season. I really like going when everything is not so blazing hot, too, like in October or December or March, but summer is the time when we can take the most days, so we deal with the heat and the afternoon thunderstorms and the crowds for those trips. With the way so many schools are spreading out the calendars now, there are not too many weeks in a year, I bet, that Disney World is really, really slow.

What grade or subject do you want to teach?

I have been wanting to go to Dollywood for several years. I guess Dolly figured out we were never gonna get there and decided to bring the park to us! ;) If this place really does get built, I know the girls will really enjoy it.

I was going to put up new pictures tonight, but I went to bed last night coughing, and I woke up coughing, stuffed up, and with a sore throat. Had I not already had such a choppy couple of weeks, I would have stayed home, but I went on, knowing I could crash tonight.

Which is what I am going to do.

My eyes hurt, ears hurt, head hurts, throat is raw - just sinusy crud, I guess, so I am going to put away the computer and fall asleep to HGTV in a short while. I took some Nyquil, so that will knock me out and hopefully take care of all my issues while I am sleeping.

Hope you all have a good evening, and I will put up the next set of pictures tomorrow.

I have been fortunate not to get sick very often. Maybe twice a year I have a spell where I lose my voice. I don't necessarily feel bad, but my voice goes raspy. I think that might be more allergy related than anything. This feels like an old-fashioned cold with lots of symptoms. I can't stop coughing, and that is making me choke and making my ribs hurt.

I will get to the next batch of pictures in a little while. I am going to go fix some Cream of Wheat for breakfast. I barely ate anything yesterday, so I am feeling a bit hungry. I probably need to keep this cold long enough to help me shed off about 60 pounds. :rolleyes1

I'm not sure what I would want to teach. I have been subbing at my son's elementary school (almost full time) for the last 5 years. Hopefully that experience will help me land a job should I choose to look for one. Maybe I'll just keep subbing--I know from my long term jobs that full time teaching is a ton of work!

Disney on Ice will be a lot of fun. Maybe Harper can choose one favorite outfit for the day. I'm guessing there will be enough football, basketball, baseball, or something on TV to occupy Baylor while he's not at Disney on Ice.

Sorry to hear that you"re still feeling cruddy. I hope you can take it easy all weekend and feel better very soon.:goodvibes

I booked our trip for next Christmas this morning.:yay: John gave me the ok to book it a few weeks ago but I was still contemplating it. Then I saw your pictures of that castle and couldn't wait for it to be today so my 11 month window would open! We are going the 21st-27th. I'm loving that we will be there Christmas morning and still have 5 days off once we come home.:cloud9:

I turned my shower into a temporary sauna - just stood there with hot water pouring down to try to open up my head. It felt so good! I've been sleeping in between my coughing and snorting.

Christmas will be so much fun for you! Having the time after the trip will be nice. I wish it had worked out for us to do it that way. I got my relaxing time before the trip, but if I could have had it exactly how I wanted, I would have reversed that.

Oh MeMom, feel better. Boo. :(

It's been a crummy couple of days, but it reminds me to appreciate the good ones. ;)

Hope you woke up this morning feel much better than you did when you went to bed!!!

Feeling cruddy is no fun at all!!!!!!

Coughing my head off right now. It's annoying. :sad2:
At least I don't have to be around anyone right now and annoy them, too.

I guess it depends on the difference in pay and benefits vs. the extra effort/paperwork/headaches of full-time teaching. Subbing sounds good to me right now, if I had that option. Your district is probably a lot different than mine, though.

It was sure fun seeing you all that evening! Most of our crew had that Disney glaze in their eyes since it was several of their first trips and there we were right by the castle getting ready for our first sit-down dining experience. One thing I noticed right away was that Bella had lost her shyness towards me, finally!!! Brook was her normal cheerful self!:cutie:

Since I won't get around to writing a report on our trip since I am buried under homework on my master's program, if you don't mind I'd love to share our family video over here if folks haven't had the chance to see it on FB...

I just realized that will be getting a Disney fix on Friday when we take Harper and Megan to Disney live! http://disney.go.com/disneylive/.

Hi Wig'd, we saw this in December and it was great!
I know Harper will enjoy it! There were lots of little princesses around so I say bring all of the dresses!
Don't forget your wallet...there's lots to spend money on...frozen ice, popcorn buckets, cotton candy w/crown and of course souvies of all kinds.

I would love for you (or Jill) to share some of Brooklynn's pictures from her camera. It would be great to see Disney from her eyes. Her posing John is hilarious!! :rotfl:

On a side note: We are moving to Alabama in August. Most likely Huntsville. Doesn't Jill live there? I know she is busy, but maybe she can give me some areas to look for houses. My in laws live about an hour or two from there but they have never been. Bella really enjoyed this trip. It was very sweet of you to bring them glow things. Always a hit, of course. I have already talked to Jill about them being up here on June 12th. If Jill can't be, the girls will be. Depending on how late you guys arrive, maybe they can swim in the hotel pool. I still owe you dinner, so I might have to pack it up and bring it down there so we can eat poolside, if that is allowed.

You can absolutely show your video here. I know everyone will enjoy it.

Oh MeMom I hope you feel better!! That winter crud is no fun!!!

I loved your Christmas Day pictures - love! :lovestruc it'd be a dream to be at WDW on Christmas Day!

My ribs hurt so much from coughing. :headache: I am trying to cough out all the ick. So gross!

This was the second time Jill and I had had the privilege of being in Magic Kingdom on Christmas Day. We didn't really do anything either time, but it was still neat to be there on 'the day'.

Sounds like the perfect way to spend Christmas Day!

Anita - I saw your video on facebook - loved it!!

Feel better MeMom!

We thought about doing a ride or two, but after having traveled all day, we thought it was best just to head on back, get some good sleep, and start fresh the next day. I took a short walk around Pop after the girls had turned in.

I hope to feel a lot better by this time tomorrow so that I can face my crazy young'uns at school. ;)

I am so glad you guys get to hook up for lunch sometimes. DIS friendships are fun. :goodvibes

I got a call from WDW Friday on the way home from school. I always write a quick thank you when we get home and note good things (and rarely a bad thing) about our trips. The guy asked about our stay and wanted to know if we had heard anything on Mingo. I told him I guessed Mingo was living happily in the Treehouse.

Love your Christmas day update!!! I am sorry that you are sick. Being sick is absolutely awful...Hope tonight's rest helps.

Um....that Tiana doll is adorable and I want one.

Hope you're feeling better by the time you read this!

He's been there a while. I guess he's got a pretty good deal going with WDW. Is his name Bill?

Tiana is cute. I watched Princess and the Frog yesterday - for research purposes for Bella's party. I slept through most of it. :sad2:

Take a few days off and I am 14 pages behind! I'm going back to catch up now!

Can't wait to read all about Christmas adventures!

We've only done two sets of pictures, so you didn't miss much. One more post and we'll be done with Day One.

We had a lot of fun being there during the holiday season. It was so pretty everywhere, and the weather was wonderful.

So when I finally caught up on the summer trip, guess what I found??!!

I am happy to report that our weather has been unusually warm. :thumbsup2 Although, the thought of sitting by the fireplace in your lovely home sounds very nice. :)

A February cruise will be incredible. I doubt February will be as nice to us as January has been.

I love your castle, castle reflection picture. It looks like Brooklynn knows how to pose someone for a one of a kind shot.

She got Jill on the first night - before he was tired and after he had been fed, so he was very cooperative with her antics.

Once again looking at your shopping pictures was dangerous. I want the Disney Monorail and the Parking Lot Tram. Plus I know playing the Disney version of Clue Game would be alot of fun.

I couldn't afford the real monorail, so I went for this. The girls were fascinated with seeing the trams this time, so I got that, too. They were less than twenty dollars each.

I have Splash Mountain Sorry and we have some other Disney version board games.

The movies are a nice addition - a nice family activity that doesn't require being in a park. The one night we thought about going down to watch, it was too cold. Jill also thought of going to Fantasmic that same night, but it was the coldest night of the trip, so we ended up staying in.

Hope you feel better soon, MeMom!

Ah, yes, Nyquil dreams. Years ago, I made the mistake of taking Nyquil and watching Nightmare Before Christmas. Not sure why, but I was sick and bored and I am obsessed. I cannot remember the dreams I had, but I know I woke up horrified and decided I would never make THAT mistake again!

I forgot to tell you, when I was out with my friend last night, we drove by a street called - I kid you not - "Mingo Street." I wanted to take a picture so badly, but unfortunately, it was my friend driving, not me, and it was only 5:30, but already pitch dark, of course. It was also really bitterly cold. I am pretty sure I could find that street again. If I do, I will totally take a picture.

Hope you're feeling better

That castle picture with the reflection is a beautiful shot. Nice work, Memom! :thumbsup2

My MIL is not doing to well and Mike wants to be closer to her so she can spend time with Creighton, but I don't want to be too close. ;)

I can definitely give you some good areas if you end up down here. I totally understand being close but not too close to the in-laws.

Some big news for the summer trip. MeMom is booking our rooms tomorrow. She is booking John, Bella, and I from Saturday, June 23rd until Sunday, July 1st. She and Brooklynn will be booked Saturday, June 23rd until July 5th. Since they both have no commitments at home they can stay longer than us and meet up with all the Disers on the 4th. I'm a little jealous that I will be missing the fireworks, but I have to come back to the real world and work to pay for our October Disney trip.

This summer I get to accomplish two firsts:

1. We are eating breakfast at Cinderella's Royal Table which the girls are super excited about.

and number 2...

I will be experiencing the Disney World 28 weeks pregnant in the heat of the summer.

Brooklynn and Bella will be big sisters in September!!!!!!!!

This is still under wraps so if you are friends with me on facebook please don't mention it on there yet.

This baby was already with us on the Christmas trip. He/She set a record for youngest on a Disney trip, I believe, and if not, one will be set in October when 'it' goes at about three weeks old. I looked up articles about young babies flying, and one lady flew with a two week old to Hawaii and did just fine. We will be sure to spoil Jill on the summer trip. :thumbsup2

All of your good thoughts and prayers are coveted for a healthy baby and an easy pregnancy for Jill. :)

Great news Jill!! Congratulations!!

MeMom I hope you are feeling better.

Thanks, all for the good wishes. My prayer is that Jill has a very easy time, as she has had before, and that we are blessed with a beautiful, healthy baby to add to the madness that is our family.

She has mentioned having another baby in passing to the girls, but neither of them know about this particular one yet. She wants to wait a little while until she tells John's parents, so she's not pushing it so that the girls don't mention it.

As for the date, declansdad, we will be hoping for earlier in September rather than later, since we plan to go to WDW on Jill's birthday, October 5th. Maybe it can be born on Trent's birthday - September 4th.

I would love to stay home tomorrow and finish out this cold, but I am going to go on. I'm through the worst of it. Everything has lessened a little. Definitely not gone, but less pain, less gunk, less coughing. I think by Tuesday it will be almost done. Early to bed again tonight and hopefully more sleep (and more silly dreams?) will help.

How very cool to be in the MK on Christmas Day! And even cooler to have a DIS meet.

Take care of yourself and hope you feel better soon!!!:goodvibes

DIS meets are fun! It's always fun to see Wigd and crew again. This was the first time we had met several of her family members.

If I am not in them. ;)

That's great that you will be close by for some future DIS meets. I'm sure Jill can help you out with looking at the area.

Mingo Street? Fun! :woohoo:

One of my dreams involved Jill sending Brooklynn off to boarding school. One was about my cat, who was a crocodile in the dream, and another crocodile that was after him. I grabbed the visiting crocodile with my bare hands. Another was about me mixing some yogurt in a cake mix, only I was throwing the little individual packs of yogurt in the batter, plastic and all.

More Nyquil dreams tonight! :dance3:

I'm starting to feel it, yes, I do.....
A sick day for you tomorrow.
Better get those sub plans in order!

Magic Kingdom is the best place to be on any part of Christmas Day!

I wanted to share the video but it's been removed from youtube....
Wow, I don't know what happened to it.:confused3

I'd love to take a sick day, but I'll save it. I think I can get through okay. I'll be puny, but I think I can tough it out.

We need to find your video.

Those animator dolls are very cute. I got my neice the Ariel and Mulan ones for Christmas (great Black Friday deal! :)) and the Tiana one for her birthday! She loves them. I also brough home the monorail and one of the trains for my nephew for Christmas and they were a big hit! I am sure they will sucker Auntie Stacy into buying them all kinds of stuff when we go in October! And I'm sure I'll get roped into some lovely poses for pictures like John's!:rotfl: That was very cute! And how nice to see Dis friends on Christmas!

Hope the dayquil and nyquil are helping you get some rest.

Those dolls are all so cute. We need to have them all. ::yes::

The girls will enjoy playing with the Disney transportation. I will love watching them. ;)

That is SO exciting!!! Congratulations on your newest little one on the way! I pray that you and he/she will continue to be healthy. :cutie:

I didn't know she was announcing today. She surprised me with that.

Congratulations to both of you!!! :goodvibes

The girls don't really know yet, but I guess we'll give John some credit. For all of his quirks, he does make some sweet babies. ;)

Congratulations Jill! I hope you have an easy pregnancy and another beautiful, healthy baby.

Congrats!!!!! I'm so excited for you guys! :cool1:

You are one brave woman, both for braving Disney pregnant in the summer and for having a third child! :lmao: I'm totally kidding. The more the merrier. Although I'm happy with managing one but more power to you for being so brave. :worship:

So the questions begin.....

Do you know when you're due? How long have you known? Seth was due on 9/20 (although he came early on 9/4) and I found out I was preggo on January 9th, but I found out really early since we were trying. So I'm assuming you just found out pretty recently. Did you know while you were at Disney, or were you even preggo then? I may be being too nosey!

Do you want a girl or a boy? I'd guess a boy but who knows....you might want to out-number John by 4!!! :rotfl:

Hope you're feeling well. :goodvibes

Lana and Caren, I did some research on the video and found that Matt had made a few changes to it.
Here's the new edited version.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dbCOm4AzNCM

If you have a few minutes please take a look, the two littlest ones are my grands Harper and Hunter. The other cute kids are cousins on the other side of the family.
We went with all of my kids & significant others and my son in law's sister, her three children and their mom.
So it was a group of 15!

Congrats to Jill, John, MeMom, Brooklynn & Bella! New life is such a wonderful blessing! I'll be saying prayers for a healthy baby and easy pregnancy.

Christmas Day at the Magic Kingdom is just perfect. I'm glad you made it there. I've never been there for Christmas but we did go for New Year's Eve. Back when we went they didn't have those beautiful lights. Thank you so much for giving us the play by play. I felt like I was there. You picture of the lights and the reflection is just gorgeous!

I'm so glad you got to meet up with Anita and crew. I just loved the video. We went with a group of 15 family members once. It was fun!

I hope you're feeling better MeMom and if you're not I hope you do soon.
