OMG MOM...is that Paris?? Our girls trip to Disney 4/1 LUAU UPDATE

Yes...FINALLY!! I have a title for my TR. Now, that means I can start it!! Woo hoo!!!

Hi! This is me and my oldest daughter! My name is Heather and I loooovvvveeee Disney! I am lucky in that I have a husband who loves it almost as much as I do. I have a 7 year old sassy-lassy daughter and a 18 month old daughter who stayed home with daddy on this trip!

Oh wait, let me back up! This trip came about after my mom decided she wanted to head down to Disney for a girls trip! So, the trip includes me, DD Hollie, my mom, my sister, and my niece.

The specifics!

We were in Disney from October 6th through the 11th. (Yay, we were there on my birthday the 8th)
We stayed at Pop Century..love that place!

This was an alright trip, not the best but definitely not the worst (heh...you should read past ones! lol) The weather was probably the worst I have ever seen it in Disney. Lots and lots of rain. Boo! But, all in all it was a good trip!

I was hoping to get an update in before tomorrow. But, I Have been so busy today. Chad and I are going to Gatlinburg in the morning so I have been running around trying to get packing and all that fun stuff done!

Hi everyone!! I have not forgotten about this TR. Just life has been crazy the past couple of months. I finally have all mh pictures uploaded and ready so I will be starting on this.

Well, I think its about time I started this TR!! What about your guys??

My sister and I were planning on leaving around 2 or 3 am, but my mom planned for us to leave around 7 am that Thursday morning. I told her that if we were planning on going to the luau that night, we really needed to leave earlier so we could get checked in and rest a little. So....she took my advice and we were gonna get on the road at 4 am and NO EARLIER. Notice I said gonna!
I actually got up that morning and did my normal I-am-gonna-be-riding-a-good-ways routine which consisted of getting a bath and then packing up stuff I couldn't pack yet. Chad got Hollie up and in my car while I went and snuggled up with Hannah. Hollie and I were on the road around 3:30 am. My parents don't live very far from us so we got there around 3:40.
We had brought over all our big luggage the night before so all I really had to pack was my camera, purse, and Hollie's back pack.
In case your wondering, I had already packed up my makeup lol

We visited with my dad for a couple of minutes and then we were on the road!

This is actually where the trip name came into play. Hollie and Shelby were wide awake, and I mean awake!! As we were going past Atlanta, Hollie said..."OH MY GOSH!!!! Is that Paris???" I informed her that no, it was not Paris. She then said, "Well, is it Hollywood??? Um....no! Its Atlanta!!! She loves the Barbie movies and the new one she has just happens to take place in Paris. ha ha My silly girl!

We stopped for breakfast at IHOP and Hollie and Shelby thought it was really cool that the waitress brought them out this pancake!

I took the girls to the restroom and to get some OJ. I have to admit, this next set of pictures are funny! In the age where we have cell phones, Hollie and Shelby thought these "phones that are outside with a blue cover over them" are really cool lol

We got back on the road and really had no problems at all on the drive down! My sister started out driving and then about a couple of hours later got tired so I switched with her and drove the rest of the way!

I pulled up to the front so we could go and check in. I told my sister to stay with the girls and I would go in and get the check in started! I snapped this of the sweet girls! They were already having a ball!

My mom and I went to check us in. We had asked for the 50's Lady building, (oh how I love it!) and also to have adjoining rooms. Well, there seemed to be a mix up. They said they could put is in rooms close together but we really needed an adjoining room. The guy checking us in looked through the computer and finally after we stood there about 10 minutes and he made several phone calls, we were put in the 70's Mickey Phone building directly facing mirror lake. It was a pretty good walk from the parking area to our room. I don't think I have ever parked that far in all the years we have stayed at Disney. It didn't bother me, I love to walk!! So we finally got to our rooms and believe it or not. I didn't take one picture as soon as we walked in. We wanted to get in, get unpacked and get ready for the luau. So my sister, Hollie, and my niece all got one room while my mom got the other. I unpacked all my stuff and then started on Hollie's. I ended up putting some of her stuff in my moms room because we knew they would end up in there at some point.

We finally got ready for the luau and off we went! We took these pictures walking to the car:

Now, this is pretty much where the pictures stop. Shelby got a little whiny. Nope, not a little whiny but a LOT whiny. She was tired and iller than a hornets nest that was just hit with a broom, and needed sleep. She turned into her nickname, "Sponge Shelby WHINY Pants!!" That kid can pitch a fit and start screaming better than any kid I know! lol So, my mom said we should just go on back to the room and go to bed early. Now, knowing I have been here a ton of times, I suggested that Hollie and I watch the rest of the show, ride the monorail to the MK, then catch a bus back to the room. She didn't like this idea at all!! She tends to worry and didn't want Hollie and I to be by ourselves. Hollie was a little upset and wanted to watch the "Fire Guy" but I promised her we would be back very soon. So, we got up just after dessert was served. I mean, who leaves the luau early!!! ;)

Oh man!!! You need to put your foot down girl! I hate when Moms get al lmotherly. I think my Mom has learned somewhat, but other times she drives me insane. At least on vacation she is now better. But at home she still likes to tel lme how things should be done. :rotfl2:

That child can scream and cry with the best of them. We knew when she started whining it was time to go!! haha

Awww too bad for a sick little one and that you had to leave early. It's nice that Hollie was still smiling after having to leave early. What a nice cousin!

That little one was just iller than a hornet! haha When she is tired and ill, its best to make her go to sleep!
Hollie wasn't so nice at first...she told me that she really didn't want to leave but then she guessed she would! lol

That's a whole big bunch of kids. Looks like much fun! Sorry you had to call it an early night. You'll do it again and again in years ahead, though, with your two sweet girls. :lovestruc

I am looking forward to seeing many more pictures. We didn't do MNSSHP last year (actually, I think for the last two years), but we are doing it again this October. Definitely looking forward to seeing your pictures of that. :thumbsup2

That is one of my favorite parts of the luau when they bring the kids on stage. Its so cute!

Oh yes! We plan on doing it this December when we take Hollie for a "surprise" birthday trip that she has no idea about! ;)

Oh man!!! You need to put your foot down girl! I hate when Moms get al lmotherly. I think my Mom has learned somewhat, but other times she drives me insane. At least on vacation she is now better. But at home she still likes to tel lme how things should be done. :rotfl2:

I am considering this show in the future. I hear mixed reviews, but we have now seen Hoop Dee Doo 3 times, so we need a change.

LOL! I told my mom that believe me, I didn't think anyone would snatch me or try to kidnap me in Disney. Besides, if they did I am sure I would be released the moment that they realized I would not stop talking!! haha

We have always loved the luau. But I love anything that has to do with Islands and anything tropical. We definitely enjoy it! I think you should try it at least once! :)

Brooklynn went through a stage where she whined everything she said. It was a bad, bad habit, and it drove us crazy!
