Hi gang,

Trying to get some opinions here as Disney doesn't seem to have in writting the suggested tip amounts for a
Three day DCL cruise. So how much do you tip-

The stateroom Host/Hostess?

Server?

Assistant Server?

Head Server?

Thanks...will be interesting to see the different opinions!

check out the great website www.***************** for guidelines and opinions on tipping...

the guidelines I believe for 3 day are, pp:

server-$11.00
Asst server - $32.00
Head waiter - $2.75
Stateroom Host - $10.75

Again, these are just suggested guidelines...

DCL does have the information on their site. These are PER PERSON for the ENTIRE CRUISE:

Server - $11.00
Asst. server - $8.00
Head server - $2.75
Stateroom host - $10.75

So if you have TWO people in your cabin, you would tip the server $22, asst. server $16, head server $5.5 and the stateroom host $21.50.

That seemed like way too little for us on our 3-day cruise and we tipped the servers and stateroom host (but not the head server) about double the recommended amount. You don't have to do that, we just felt like it was warranted. :)

OMG!!!! I realized we made a HUGE error in our tip calculation on our trip. No wonder everyone was so nice to us after we handed out the tip envelopes. We took the recomended amount and mulitiplied it by the number of people in the cabin, and then again by the seven days. So the recommended tip is actually per person for the whole trip? Not per person, per day?

Yikes!!!!! I've got to double check with dh. Surely we didn't really do that!!!

Maybe someone can clarify something for me.

When we cruised 2 years ago we tipped reccomended amounts... but i was very confused as to the roll of the 'head waiter'. We never saw him except one night in AP when he greeted us (as he was greeting everyone) at the door. What is his purpose? What are we tipping him for?

Thanks... :)

Hi gang,

Along with Jodielyn's question.... what about the restaurant/dining manger?

PS
Jodielyn....I tip the head waiter based on how much atttention he actually gives us and how much Pixie Dust he shares with the crew. For instance, the first time I cruised I saw this guy once (the first night...he introduced himself and I never saw him again). Then, the last time I cruised we had this wonderful guy that stopped by to crack a joke or give our waiter's a hardtime (all in fun) just about every night. We never need the help of these guys, but I really thought it was above and beyound just to make sure everyone was having a good time....problems or no problems.
