If you didn't follow along with my PTR, I will reintroduce the cast!
http://i263.photobucket.com/albums/ii122/lilpixiebabe101/Disney%202011/IMG_0107.jpg
Left to right: My little 3 year old princess Alexa, my childhood crush Peter Pan.. although this one was not very um masculine... more to come later on that one.. and me, Ashley.. 23 year old mom and Licensed Massage Therapist. Tinkerbell and all things Disney lover! I've been to the World I think 26 times. (About 8 years ago a CM asked if it was our first visit, when she looked it up it said 27 times.. I know my mom and dad had been on about 2 trips without us and 2 trips that Joseph went on that I couldn't miss school for. So I'm guessing 25-27 times? We do Disney like some families go to the beach.)
http://i263.photobucket.com/albums/ii122/lilpixiebabe101/Disney%202011/IMG_0097.jpg
Mom wonderful mom. (She hates taking pictures by the way.) Everyone thinks she's my sister, so I'll just let you guess how old she really is! Her favorite character is Dopey! She needed this trip. Well come to find out she has a new friend that we didn't find out about till almost the end of the trip!
http://i263.photobucket.com/albums/ii122/lilpixiebabe101/Disney%202011/IMG_0047.jpg
My 18 year old Big Little Brother. He's a senior this year. He took the ASVAB last year and got a 86/90. Set a record for his school. This year with the new scoring he got in the 91/100 % or however the new scoring is. More on par with the ACT scoring. The shop score was a 43% tell you what his score would have been without that loveliness. He's the Executive Officer in ROTC. He has been contacted by every branch of the service for scholarships and to pay for his schooling to go be an orthopedic surgeon and be in special forces. He just has to decide where he is going.
and last and most importantly. The little Princess! Erm.. Warrior Princess?
http://i263.photobucket.com/albums/ii122/lilpixiebabe101/Disney%202011/016.jpg
This is my precocious 3 year old who thinks she is 13. She has the attitude already.. She is my world. She might not have gotten her at the opportune time, but she has been a blessing every day since she came into our lives! She loves all the princesses, Cluto (We all know him as Pluto!), and Winnie the Pooh and Tigger!
And my DF. http://photos-g.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/382899_3856246643731_1205280038_102417245_12220973 97_a.jpg
Who is a silent member of our trip, but sacrificed a lot to be able to let us go with my mom during one of my busiest work times of the year.

I love the intros! I can't believe how many times you have been to WDW!!!!
I am very impressed by your brother. WOW! I wish my ds had more opportunity in his military career.
Alexa is so cute...warrior princess or regular.;)
Your mom.. I have to laugh at people thinking she is your sister. I DEFINITELY would think that...but also, I would guess she is my age. You see... my dd is about your age..and we get the whole "we must be sisters thing" all the time. And sadly, she is the one often mistaken for Zoe's mom. I think the two of you would hit it off since she is now married and thinking of having kids AND is in her early 20's. Funny how so many people are just getting married and having families at such an old age. I don't' think I would have the family I do have had it not been for me starting as young as I did.
I love the Christmas pic of the three of you! AND..Your hair!!! I did mention how cute it is. I need to get a hair cut.... thinking I need a cute do:rolleyes:

WOW congrats to your brother! They are trying to take away the ROTC here in our school district (one of the very few on Long Island that still have it), but I believe that it brings great opportunity to kids! Your brother is proof!
Awww... Alexa the warrior princess I love it!
And your mom.... Hmm... your not that much younger than I am so I am going to guess that she's around 45-50 like my mom? But from what you can see of her she does look young!
I think that's the same Peter Pan that we saw (didn't get pictures or signature's), but K says "Oh look we're skipping the real dudes" :lmao: I started to think of you and wonder if you were going to see the same one and I guess that you did--- at least they look similar!
Can't wait to hear more about your trip! So how are we doing this? Slow and steady or fast? Does it matter?

I told you we had been a lot! (My PTR title lol.)
Yeah, we've pretty much known since he was little that he was going to be something with the military.
I've read her PTR's TR's. She and I probably would hit it off very well. And your right, y'all are probably close in age! Makes me feel kinda weird sometimes talking to you all since I'm the youngest!

Yeah he's excited and loves the ROTC program. Has been in it since Junior High.
And she's right in the middle there. She really really hates pictures... Y'all will get to see the procession of pictures that took place trying to get that one! lol
Yeah I told Joseph he looked and sounded just like the young guy out of Glee!
I'm doing mine as I can make myself update. Having everything already there and just putting it all back together is going to be easier for me that the PTR was. Waiting or thinking up things to post about and me apparently didn't get along as slow as my PTR moved! I know Ann has the goal to do a "day" a week. My photopass CD is on the way right now.. turned 120 pics into 206 lol!

You shouldn't feel odd. I think at some point, age stops really mattering. I mean...Kira is one of my favorite people to hang out with (now a few years ago :rolleyes1) And besides... you have a lot in common with all of us since you have a little girl and you love Disney :goodvibes

My dad's dad's dad (my great grandpa) died before my grandpa was even born. Was driving an ambulance in the war and had a shell dropped on it. So my grandpa has always been very military obsessed. Did any and all research he could find about his dad before and during the service. He has hundreds of books on everything military. My dad's only brother has been in the Airforce since he graduated high school. So my brother kind of grew up around all that, and really loves it. (He likes making the cadets cry when they don't know right from left in drill.) He actually told a freshman that had to run laps for the 3rd time when he turned the wrong way again. (come on right and left? I know some ppl have problems with it, but when this is half way through the school year already, and you've been doing these drills all that time.. You should have the R and L down. lol) Joseph told him laps again and the kid started crying. Joseph (who has played football for Central since 6 grade and they were out on the field) told him there was "no crying in ROTC and no crying on my football field". :rotfl2:
I'm glad y'all don't think I'm out of place. Maybe not out of place, but maybe like 5th wheelish? Since I don't have all the experiences that come as someone goes through life. Yeah I'm a mom and I've been working since I was 12 years old, but I don't have the older kid experience yet (well besides from my own which weren't a very long time ago lol) or the school drama with kids, etc. Maybe that's what I was trying to convey? But yes... I fit right along with y'all in the obsessing about our happy place!

:rotfl:It's seems to take longer to get him on the bus when I want to come back and read- like today the bus never came so I had to drive him in!
From what I see the ROTC is really good for the men/boys that I have met from there or heard from their parents! It also brings them a lot of opportunities! I would have loved to be part of something like that-- but then again I may have not been able to meet K and have a monkey if I did!
In K's culture there is this thing about taking pictures and how it ages you.. if your mom doesn't like them and looks young maybe that holds some truth! Just kidding!
I'm waiting for my PP CD too since those will be most of the only pictures that I am going to have:eek:! I'll never repeat this to Kaung, but I should have listened to him:headache:

Honestly though, I think the point has already been made pretty clear. Everybody here is here because they love Disney. It's always great to read TR's to see it from someone else's perspective. It seems like every one I read opens my eyes to something I've always just walked past or never thought about before. TR's have also been a great tool to get tips and ideas for traveling with a toddler. Talk about a life changing experience... no matter how old you are.:rotfl2:

WEll of course. That's how it always works out. Just like when there's stuff I absolutely have to get up early to do, either the power blips and my alarm doesnt go off. Or Alexa is up half the night so I sleep through the alarm!
I went to a private school, so we didn't have ROTC either. Joseph left after the school district incorporated my Junior year. DF always says how much he hated the 4 years he spent at our school, ( I had 14 years there) but I remind him that if he hadn't gone there then there's probably no way he and I ever would have met!
Might be true!
We'll here's the deal with our Photopass... My mom videod on her phone or on the camera while the photopass ppl took all the pictures. So we don't have still shots unless there just wasn't a photopass person.

And yes the toddler on a trip was a real eye opener for us. Keeping up with her wore us out. We only closed the park one night, where we used to close one, and go to another and close it!

Plus Ashley I don't see you or hear about you acting like some of the people we went to school with--- I had a high school friend write on her facebook last night that she was upset about how someone IMPLIED she should be home with her sick twins instead of watching the rangers game in the bar down the road with friends! I mean I feel more at ease and comfortable with older parents because they act and dress more like I do! And who cares about having the older kid experiences... that just means that they can help prep us to what will happen!

We lived off of Cane Market Rd, when we were in Watson. I'm terrible with names of roads, etc. in Central. My aunt & uncle live in an older neighborhood, but I don't the name of it. It's off of Hooper Rd.

Heather you just made me feel infinitely more okay about all that!
And I would have implied the same thing to her! If my child's sick and it's not something I can't get out of the commitment of, then my butt is going to be at home with her watching the game! Now IF the friend was at the bar drinking watching the game with say a REALLY good friend who was going to live over seas or all the way across the country, and your child comes up sick that the last minute.. That's a different story.

Haha.. I only see/hang out with two people from high school/college. One is my best friend who I didn't even graduate with because she left our Junior year. We didn't hook back up until over a year after high school! And the other I just can't seem to get rid of... Buddy just keeps sticking around! Must like me or something! :rotfl2:

Yeah I don't see anyone from high school I have them on my face book! That's the extent of that friendship! I have been dating K since I was a junior in high school and we have been dating since I was a senior and then married a month after I graduated... we still see people we went to high school with, but they are off doing other things with their lives and I don't have much in common with them to talk. The sad thing is that my closest friend is 12 years older than me! We laugh because someone thought that she was my sister and in the same conversation said "mom?" But I click with her the best so it's good! Plus our son's have the same "issues" we go through so that helps to talk to someone that knows!

Okay, so I apologize in advance because this update will have few pictures! (And this is another apology for how long and rambly I've realized this post is now that I'm half way through it.)
A little background to our departure week.
My mom always takes off two weeks before, during, after Christmas, so she was trying to get a lot of stuff done to be able to leave and take her usual holiday time off.
Monday - I work 10am - 10pm (holiday hours remember). Any time to pack or Christmas shop? Nope
Tuesday- My aunt (my mom's sister) decided we need to take family pictures for my Grandfather less than a week before Christmas.. So I work the salon all day, go to the grandparents house, and we take pictures till almost 9pm. Get home late. Again was there time to pack or Christmas shop? No (I think your starting to see the trend here...
Wednesday- Salon day again. What are the plans tonight? Why for the salon ladies to get dressed up and go out to eat and be merry all together for Christmas! Again the question.. shopping or packing? Nope... (This day I also did my Continuing Education Booklet for my MT license... and of course with everything going on I forget it at the salon!)
Thursday - Ok so this is December 15.. which means the next day is December 16... which is Buddy and Alexa's birthday.. Now everyone has had the last two weeks to see her to give her her birthday presents. I had been telling everyone for a month that we weren't doing a party because we were leaving for Disney. So this is how Thursday went down (on top of Buddy moving into the new townhouse, so we could stay with him his first night there). I get to work and get a call from my future DFIL.. tells me they need to see Alexa for a few minutes tonight to give her her gift. Then I get a phone call from Buddy saying his Grandma is cooking, and we have to eat with her first. So I get off from work late. I rush to get to the bank before they close, get to his grandma's and help him finish packing because of course he hasn't finished. We eat, and his aunt calls and says they are bringing her present too. To wait for them... 45 minutes later they show up with her present and their new 10 week old puppy... Now I have a day away from 3 year old that has other places to be, and I'm still not packed for my "happy place. I was not a happy camper. 30 minutes later after I beg Alexa to leave the puppy alone.. :headache:. We head to my house to pack. My dad is there and they have a cake... So instead of him spending time while I'm spazing out packing.. We spend 20 minutes doing cake, ice cream, etc. Do we see a pattern here? Ok packing done.. Thank goodness I had been "throwing things AT our suitcases" for the last two weeks. We head to future DFIL's house.. Buddy has called me like 3 times by now asking where we are. "Um you know where we are? You could have gone and gotten YOUR daughter earlier and already gone to all the houses because no one really needed to see me!" Was not a good time to test my nerves! We get there and his dad and step mom aren't even home yet! We spend a little while with his grandmother and then go to his dad's in the backyard after they finally got home! (I don't think I've mentioned since he was moving in to the townhouse while I was packing that this means we still have a walmart trip to make tonight for the necessities?) They had gotten her a portable DVD player.. My dad had already gotten her one of the trip, complete with a hook up for the back of the passenger seat! I just thanked them very nicely and now she has her own mini-tv at her Daddy's house! We finally get to the townhouse, and go to walmart, and get home and go to sleep for 2am...
Friday - Since I had to be at the mall bright and early today for 8am.. I live 45 minutes away lol. I was not a bright happy camper. It was one of those "t-minus 6 hours, 58 minutes, and 30 seconds till I can leave this hellish place for Disney" type moods. And the day went by sooooooooo slow.. To be the 2nd to last friday before Christmas... I didn't even make quota for the day. So Mom went to work, my brother went and took his last exam, Alexa was at school seeing "Ho Ho" at their Christmas party and I was at work. Mom and I kept texting how long we had left! Apparently My boss and coworker had planned for the coworker to come in like 30 minutes early to let me leave early. No one told me, and since we were busy and my boss was there I asked the boss to call me if we got busy and walked to Macy's to Christmas shop for a few minutes. Get back and the coworker is there early?!?! They were like we planned for you to be able to leave early... and of course the boss didn't tell me this and it's 3:30.. when I was suppose to leave anyway.
I get to my dad's office and load the stuff from my car into my mom's. Put my dad's business card into my windshield, so my car didn't get towed from his "no overnight parking" lot. And we hit the road... finally!
No traffic on the way out of BR! We started doing our trivia books. We had 4 of them! We quickly realize that the first one is very old.. Talking about things that haven't been in Disney since the 80's... Switched to another book... Little know questions about all the classic Disney Movies! Another no go because my brother is clueless and my mom doesn't pay a lot of attention to details. Book 3 time! This one was a keeper.. then again it was the newest Disney trivia book to hit the market. Found out about it from the "Celebration" magazine.

It was about 10 minutes before we stopped to eat that I looked at my mom and asked "Did you put the Pull-Ups in the trunk?" (They had been in my car when I transferred my stuff to her car) "No. Did you?" "No. Yes. Idk??" At Wendy's we checked the trunk for the Pull-Ups.. no dice! Yes.. Yes.. I had left the Pull-Ups in my car... We had no Pull-Ups and only a #1 trained 3 year old. So we decided to wing it and stop at the next Target we saw. (I needed another pair of jeans in case it was cold on the trip, and I can only fight right into Mossimo Jeans [Target only brand]). Normally we would have extra Pull-Ups in one of our vehicles... but Mom had gotten her new car a week before we left, so there was no day to day type things in the car yet.

We get our food and get back in the car to eat as we drive. This is where the driving hit a snag.. We start driving through the middle of NOWHERE Florida (because we were suppose to be staying in Tallahassee). There would be cell service for 5 minutes and then none for 20 minutes. Or Joseph would have it and I wouldn't and vice versa. (This would be a trend in Disney as well). So my car entertainment of talking to various people in skype was put on hold. Sad Ashley.
We finally made it to Tallahassee around 11 pm. Thank goodness mom had called the week before to make a reservation because when she called they only had like 5 rooms left. All the universities were doing their December graduations that Friday night! We stayed here...

Wow! What a hectic week! I'm tired just reading about it.
Glad y'all were able to finally get going to Disney. Although, that must've been a horrible feeling to realize you'd left the pull-ups in your car.
Hope y'all were able to make it to a Target before any accidents happened. :scared1:
Was the hotel you stayed in overnight nice? We'll be doing our 1st Disney road trip this coming December (I'm sick of all the hassle with flying) and we're going to drive halfway there the 1st night. We're thinking of stopping somewhere around Tallahassee.

Well of course LIFE interfered! You know how crazy my work schedule is! I thought "Oh, its January. It'll be slow when I get to work. Nope never slowed down!
Buddy and I dated on and off Sophomore year of high school until we started college. We didn't have much contact the summer between high school and college... until I got another boyfriend.. and he FLIPPED! Needless to say it only took till that Christmas to make him get his butt in gear and we've been together the last 5 years straight now :)

When I sat down in my mom's car to hit the road, I felt like I lost a huge weight off my shoulders. I can't say a lot though. I work Thursday thru Monday at the mall, and then I work at a brand new hair salon, The Looking Glass Beauty Lounge, off Hooper Road on Tuesday's and Wednesdays! And starting this week every other Saturday morning will be spent at the Lounge and the other evening at the mall! I feel exhausted every week. But it's called building my clientele!
The hotel was GORGEOUS! If you want I can get the contact info from my mom and PM it to you! They even had a gorgeous indoor heated pool!

It sounds like you're well on your way to building up your clientele! :thumbsup2 I'm sure it's a lot of hard work on top of being a mother as well. But, what a great example you are to your little girl to go after what you want.

I would love the info, if you don't mind. No rush on it - just whenever youd' get a chance - I still have a LONG time until our next trip. Even though we'd only be staying 1 night, I still like a nice place in order to sleep easy. Thank you! :goodvibes

Well, hello from another Baton Rougean! I live close to the mall and we even had a Dis meet there a couple of months ago! I will look for you to say hello next time I am there. :love:Your mom's new car...traveling in style! Congrats to your brother...I think ROTC is a great thing and will open so many doors and opportunites, although it sounds like he is one smart guy!

Yeah. It just takes a while. Our teachers always told us to push it for 2 years, and you should have your clientele. I have a mall clientele built up, but the mall is 45 minutes from my house... so most don't want to drive that far. I've only been "building" it since October, so I'm not stressing too much.
Mom says that the "Courtyard by Mariott" was kinda on the higher end. So if you are looking for a more budget hotel there was a Holiday Inn Express, Cabbott's Lodge, etc at the Tallahassee exit. I thought it was the only room in our hotel... No it was the only room in all of Tallahassee. She apparently had called all the others before she called that one! But it was very very nice! She said your good staying anywhere right off the Tallahassee exits. We only had about a 4 or 4 1/2 hour drive the next morning.
Wow what and exacting adventure this is turning up to be can't wait to read the rest
haha. I'm trying to spread the updates out to every few days since it was only a 6 day trip and two days were travel.

I did my shopping in Disney. A bit on the 23rd and even some on the 24th.. because someone couldn't figure out where he had put two of the presents, so he wouldn't lose them.. go figure!!
No I was freaking out a bit. I was actually more worried that I had maybe left them sitting next to my car. One of the boxes - the almost 60 count boxes - unopened. That's what I was more worried about. So my dad went and checked, and they were indeed in my backseat. :headache:

Definitely stop by and do that! Only two females work there. The other is a Disney nut too... She might be lurking on my TR as I type this! She's a Disney nut too and wants to jump in on our ladies trip in 2013 lol

Oh yeah! Like I told Ann ^^^ there. I was more worried that I had left them outside my car than inside my car! A brand new box :sad2:
I hope she just doesn't come to resent how much I have worked and been away from home. I'm trying to get through it now to build my clientele while she is so young, so maybe she won't remember that I'm hardly ever home now. I'll be able to be home more when I counts. Packing was a nightmare. Not only was a packing for the trip, but for staying overnight that night at Buddy's! And then making sure all the day to day stuff that I needed for there and to get ready for work made the shift to my suitcase the next afternoon lol
She absolutely loves her car. I love the heated seats. They were great on the trip for the sore lower back from sitting so long! We have always known he would do something military. Even when he was little he was completely into it all!
The townhouse is great. (My grandfather is a parapalegic (spelling?) He was shot in the war. Had to use a cane to walk, then a leg brace when he was younger, then a wheelchair. He has a stint in his left leg because his circulation is so poor, he has a stint in the artery. Every few years he has to have it looked at and re-expanded. A week ago this past wednesday he had to have it redone and they ended up doing a bypass on his whole leg instead. So either my mom or aunt or someone has been staying in the hospital with him every night.) So we have actually been able to stay with him quite a bit there! I don't like staying at my mom's when she isn't home. Just doesn't feel right? They are still trying to figure out a system for who does dishes when. And he lives with another couple.. and the girl doesn't eat leftovers... I cook Buddy two big pots of stuff during the week normally that he eats on all week. So they are still trying to figure out how to handle the food situation too, besides everyone doing their own shopping and labeling everything.

Oh my you work like my DH!! He's never home because he takes these crazy hour side jobs and extra hours! I guess that when you have things that you have to buy/pay for (like pull ups:lmao:) you have to though! Your schedule just tires me though and I'm not sure how you do it while keeping up with our TR's and your family and everything else you do that we don't know about! Before I got down to the part about that being the book I thought that was your daughter on the cover of something that you made..... is it just me or does it kinda look like your Alexa? That's a nice car! We all have Nissan's here too! It's a Nissan Altima?
Oh my I hope that the whole situation gets worked out with the living arrangements! Doesn't she know that there are starving kids in America that would love to have leftovers? What about making something basic and then using the meat for something else? Like chicken cutlets can also be chicken parm or shred it and make chicken tacos/quesadillas/enchiladas!

It tires me out too believe me! I'm burnt out a bit right now. Not with my job. Just all the back and forth.
It does look a lot like her. Back in the november issue of parents magazine, there was a photography advertisment and the little girl in it could have been Lexa's twin. Cept her hair was little darker and she looked maybe a year older. But half the teachers in her school were telling me how good her pictures had come out. I was so confused till someone told me!
Yeah its and altima. She loves it!
She won't reheat anything. I offered to just brown a 5lb thing of ground meat, and they could each pull a little out to do something with.. tacos? spagetti? etc. She wouldn't even do that!

I am so amazed by the small world we live in. I am also from Louisiana, Southeast. My mom lived in BR after her and my father divorced to attend nursing school until I was in 11th grade. I lived there for a short time, but moved back home. I couldn't get used to city life. Anyway, I would visit most weekends and all holidays and summers. I dated a guy from Central. He attended Central Private School. Sorry for the rambling.

Wow, what a hectic start to your trip! I hope you were able to rest the night in Tallahassee. Sounds like you needed this vacation!
I agree with Ann that the week before Christmas may not be the best time. But I guess it was the best time that worked for all of us.
Yes Yes I did need the trip away!
Yep, we would have had to wait until Mardi Gras or Spring break for another time to go.

Sooo sorry for my long absence.
A.) RL took hold. Plus I guess still in post Disney funk a bit as well. At least Wednesday I'll have my first unscheduled day off in I don't even wanna think about how long.. probably September? October? Excluding Holidays that I had no option but to be off days I took part of the day off because something had to be done that day.
B.) My laptop got a real awesome virus. Yeah wouldn't even let me CTRL + ALT + DEL to get to task manager. It was even hiding task manager from me. So Buddy restored it back in December to a previous restore in November. Thought everything was good. About two weeks ago it stopped letting me open programs. Not even Skype or Mozilla would open. Needless to say, Buddy looked at me and asked if there was anything on here I couldn't replace.. My reply "Not really. It just might take hours, days, weeks to get it all back to the laptop I've put information on for over 2 years." Buddy just rolled his eyes at me and got work. Him and his roommate wiped it and started putting windows back on it... The roommate and I decided to go to MacDonald's for everyone... The two remaining at the house didn't notice the laptop was not plugged in and died in the middle of recovery mode... So needless to say I thought my computer was going to be gone and dead for about 2 hours until they figured out how to get it all to fix and reset up and rerun the install. :woohoo: Then the recovery of all my favorites, passwords, etc started. And just last night at like 2am figured out how to get my pictures back on. On accident I might add. (Phone is jailbroken, so to resynce I needed the pictures off it just in case wiping the jailbreak when I resynce wipes everything.)
So now on to the update!
We last left off in the hotel in Tallahassee. With a very small supply of pullups :scared1:. So we decided to eat breakfast in the hotel. It was a sit down pay for buffet. So we figured it would be pretty good right?.......... SOOO wrong.. Worst meal we had all trip by far. It was all greasy and most of the food was undercooked. Mom said for the money she paid for the room night and what the breakfast alone cost the food should have been about 20 times better.
So we load up the car and hit the road with one objective in mind.. Walmart or Target scouting! I could live without a 2nd pair of jeans, but we had to have those pull ups, so we weren't being picky! 100 miles go by... 200 miles go by... Road Ninja app is working overtime trying to find someplace right off an exit to get pullups!
Finally Road Ninja is successful! 2 exits ahead is suppose to be a Target! Mom drops me off at the door, so I can run in while they are filling up. I go grab a raspberry lemonaide, a can of cashews, a pair of amazing mossimo jeans, and a small pack of pull ups. Keep in mind I have an unopened 56 count box back home and she's #1 potty trained... usually.. so I didn't think we would need but a handful for the 4-5 days we'd be gone.
So on to more driving.
http://i263.photobucket.com/albums/ii122/lilpixiebabe101/Disney%202011/001.jpg
Alexa had slept through all of this, so after they pick me up she wakes up... and proceeds to steal my drink and my cashews. Gotta love being a mom .
Finally after what seems like forever we see my second favorite sight on the planet!
http://i263.photobucket.com/albums/ii122/lilpixiebabe101/Disney%202011/003-1.jpg
And then...
http://i263.photobucket.com/albums/ii122/lilpixiebabe101/Disney%202011/006-1.jpg
And then...
http://i263.photobucket.com/albums/ii122/lilpixiebabe101/Disney%202011/007.jpg
I'm literally bouncing around on the seat, so excited.. Alexa is going nuts cause I'm going nuts.
We get out of the car by the lobby to check in, and my mom looks at me and says "Your home. Are you happy now, baby?." I nod yes and give her the biggest hug. She tells me "Even if Alexa doesn't enjoy anything (yeah right), the smile on your face right now was worth the trip." Love my mom (who by the way, I had to go bring to the dentist the morning cause she was drugged out on valium for her dental work to be done. Haha.. I had to drag her away from watching Full House).
We got checked in and of course I forgot to get Alexa's first visit button. And forgot to take a picture of our room number. But we were in the building to the left of the Hippy Dippy pool. In the Baloo and Mogli building.
So think about the amount of stuff that we have for two adult women, a 6'2" 210 two Under Armor shifts under every regular shirt wearing 18 year old guy, and a drama queen princess 3 year old..... It was a lot. And Joseph decided we were only making one trip from the car to the room. He regretted this later.. but not enough to decide the same thing when we were carrying everything back out to the car a few days later. I held his arms out and said "load me up."
We finally get everything hauled to the room. It's 1:45 PM and we are now starving and dinner ADR's aren't until 6:15.
Where do we end up? Do we starve until 6:15? Do we really end up popping open a glow stick within 10 minutes of walking into our first Disney park?

She was ridiculous. I was like Mom come on, I have to come back and get ready for work. And she'd take another step away from the TV. And I'd tell her again and she'd back up another step. I told her she could watch all the full house she wanted after she got back home lol!

You are so lucky that Buddy does computers because it costs us $150 to wipe out the comp and reprogram and you have to pay extra for certain programs!
I love your mom's comments... I am honestly on edge to see if that was enough pull ups by the end of the trip! I am always a buy more now and give the extras away type girl! Ok I will jump back in. I'll go back and do a RL update after for those of you who I'm not in everyday contact with on FB.
So we dropped our bags in the room... Sadly I didn't take a room number picture. We were in the Mogli and Baloo Building. Very close access to Everything Pop!
So we head off to the bus stop for...
http://i263.photobucket.com/albums/ii122/lilpixiebabe101/Disney%202011/IMG_0031.jpg
EPCOT! We get there with no problems.
First Disney Park Picture... and the sun is in our eyes!!
http://i263.photobucket.com/albums/ii122/lilpixiebabe101/Disney%202011/Photo0001FourBySix-3.jpg
It was all smiles....
.. until I realize I've left the booklet with our dining confirmation numbers in the room!!!! Small melt down ensues. I couldn't pull it up on my phone, so I text my best friend Lindsay and Buddy's roommates girlfriend Nicole. "Can you get online for me?" The girlfriends calls me to get exact directions to get to the page and get logged in. We proceed to get in line for SE. My brother wanted to do this one first with her. I didn't argue, but I'm on the phone walking Nicole through the log in process and how to get to the ADR stuff.
We load onto the ride, me and Alexa in the back and Mom and Joseph in the front. Nicole finally got it and is going to take a picture and send it to me, and she is still on the phone with me as we are going up the incline. Alexa starts SCREAMING because its in the dark. I quickly get off the phone and proceed to spaz out looking in the princess booksack to find a glowstick. Finally find and pop one. Crisis averted. Well, she is on my lap clutching the glowstick for dear life... but there was no more screaming. The touch screen was nice... except when she was screaming, I was looking for the glow stick, so we were both below the camera level.
So since crisis averted we decided it was time to use some CS credits and see how that all worked...
http://ts3.mm.bing.net/images/thumbnail.aspx?q=1617483533278&id=4db7e4f710cd9144242d66caecd4e884
So we went to the Sunshine Seasons Food Court area of the land.
We had a little issue with not realizing we needed to have desserts to use the CS credits. So we went and picked out 3 things.
Joseph and Mom got the Ginger Mongolian Beef (not my picture.)
http://ts1.mm.bing.net/images/thumbnail.aspx?q=1625902099640&id=38d6334fad68285a73cbaef8a2db6e57
I got the Turkey and Monterrey Sandwich. (I had forgotten to take pics before we started eating.)
http://i263.photobucket.com/albums/ii122/lilpixiebabe101/Disney%202011/008.jpg
Alexa ate one bite of mine. A lot of rice and some of the beef. And then..
http://i263.photobucket.com/albums/ii122/lilpixiebabe101/Disney%202011/009.jpg
Yes.. Joseph is petting the Rice Krispie. Even though he got a cookie for his dessert! Mom got an Eclair.
Then its off to Living with the Land...
http://ts2.mm.bing.net/images/thumbnail.aspx?q=1620526894329&id=3bd3b94c40562be8e942632523b6d746
We had to convince Alexa that it was okay. That it wasn't going to be dark.... as she still clutches her glowstick.
We get on the boat and for some reason every man decides to sit on the right side.. and the boat almost tips over... This apparently becomes a tread with Joseph being in the boat. So after some scooting around, we are off.
Alexa loved this ride. Seeing all the fruit and veggie plants/trees. Loved seeing the fish and alligators. So YAY we aren't scared of every ride.
Off we go to
http://i263.photobucket.com/albums/ii122/lilpixiebabe101/Disney%202011/011.jpg
the Seas with Nemo. As we get in line, Alexa is given the red lanyard to do the ride timer. We bob and weave until we get to the actual little bit of a line. And Alexa decides its time to hide behind me, and do what 2 and 3 year olds do when they hide :sad2:. I apologize to everyone standing around us. We hand the attendant the lanyard, get in our clam, and Joseph and Mom get in a clam with one in between us... Must have been Joseph's doing to not catch anymore whiffs. So they head off to see the wait for Crush and we head to the bathroom. We wait for a little baby to get changed. Maybe a year old. I think Alexa got a little embarrassed to be put up on the changing table like that baby.
We walked back out to find Mom and Joseph. A Turtle Talk had just let in so it would be like a 20 minute wait, so we walked around a bit. She found Dory and Nemo and Marlin in the tanks.
Then we went to wait on Crush! We get in the auditorium, and Alexa loved getting to sit by herself.
http://i263.photobucket.com/albums/ii122/lilpixiebabe101/Disney%202011/012.jpg
http://i263.photobucket.com/albums/ii122/lilpixiebabe101/Disney%202011/013.jpg (With the glow stick of course.)
Well here we see a very sad Disney Memory for a family. They are waiting for a last family to come down the walk through, and the little girl (probably between 20-24 months) was on her daddy's shoulders... I'm sure you all can see where this is going... :scared:
He was going to just clear her head under the doorway. I think he thought she was going to hit her head, so at the last second he lifts her up to lift her off and WHAM. I'm talking one of those slow motion things where you hear everyone in the room gasp. Poor baby didn't even make a sound. A CM rushed them back the way they had come to go handle the situation. We never saw them or heard her when we came back out, so we can only hope she was okay.
We all loved Crush. Alexa held her hand up the last two times, but didn't get picked. She comes up crying after the show because she didn't get to ask Crush her question. She couldn't even tell us what her question was going to be. She just said she had wanted to talk to him, poor thing.
After Nemo, we decided to go explore our imaginations with Figment. Alexa was okay with everything but the Stinky part and the train thing. But she was cool cause she had her glow stick!
Next we decided to off to the WS to start exploring until our ADR...
We also had the biggest melt down of the entire trip...... What could it have possibly have been over?

I hadn't thought to use them either until I saw some a got a few for Lexa to just play with in the dark at home. And the idea struck that night. I told Buddy "I'm going get a ton of these for our trip." We ended up throwing a ton of the bracelets/necklaces away cause some didnt work/we forgot about them so we had a ton to bring back home. But we took the rest of the actual sticks home to use later.
I'm sorry she didn't get to talk to Crush either... cute that she wanted to so much! :goodvibes

A very nice update! Good thing you brought the glow sticks and I am sorry that she didn't get her question answered! That happened to Damien too- there was a school group there and maybe 10-12 kids in it and they were brought in and allowed to be in the front and most of them were chosen. After the show I saw a few moms stay to complain but we just went! And oh my poor baby! I hope that she was okay!

OH my gosh!! that poor baby and dad. I am sure he felt horrible. I hope that they were both ok.
Sorry that Alexa didn't get to talk to Crush. Zoe got picked once and then didn't know what she wanted to ask. It was just as frustrating for her as the times she didn't get picked.:sad2:

We still had over an hour to kill before our ADR time at Nine Dragons, so we started into the Mexico side first. We get into the building, and Alexa is loving everything!

We go on the Gran Fiesta Tour ride first. Alexa loved trying to find Donald! We get out of the ride... and to this day I don't know why this ride exits into the blown glass shop. In this shop, surrounded by expensive glass pieces, is where the melt down happens. Now remember she took a very early nap in the car. Her normal nap time is closer to 1-2pm. I wouldn't let her hold a little figurine, and you would have thought I told her she couldn't meet Mickey Mouse or something! She starts screaming and kicking at me. I carry her little butt out of there and spanked her booty right outside the doorway. Then she saw the long swirly lollipops and starts screaming for one. We made a beeline for the door.
Let's just say we found a bathroom and Alexa and I had a chat about to behave and not behave in Disney!
We head off farther into the world to explore!
We found some things to play with!

Poor Alexa... and mommy. Public tantrums are not fun. You handled it well though. my dd often pitched fits when in stores. I usually was telling her not to touch things and she of course only wanted to.. touch things. When she was old enough to articulate her issue well, she pointed out that I touch everything I come in contact with when shopping. It really opened my eyes a bit. Not that she had any right... I was mom and I was shopping and thus I COULD touch things, but it helped me to understand her perspective and approach the problem a bit differently. I had not thought about this.. but for little ones, I wonder if the same type of confusion sets in when in disney. I mean... don't touch the breakables... but touch this hat or that doll. Bottom line...when the parent says no..it is no regardless of how confusing it could be...but I wonder if between this confusion and all the over stimulation...if it helps to prompt those meltdowns.:scratchin:

I think it was the lack of real nap time and all the over stimulation. Because she knows the "don't touch the glass" rule very well usually!

Hooray! I'm officially caught up with your trip report! I'm sorry about Alexa's meltdown! Totally understand! She seemed to handle it well because it looks like you had her distracted and playing in Norway smiling again in no time! :)
We use "come to Jesus" here, too... it's right up there with "Bless their heart." Not offensive - totally gets the point across if you think about it - and I think that's what causes the upset - people don't like for their toes to be stepped on. :scared:

Okay so I left y'all as we were heading off to China for dinner. We had a little time to kill, so we went off into the shops.
Now before I go any further, a little background work. Its the week before Christmas, and I have yet to Christmas shop. I work at a mall 4-5 days a week, and no presents yet. So my family, my mom shops for enough, so I didnt need to find anything. Buddy's family does a "Ladies/Man's" Chinese Christmas Swap for all the adults over 18. And then everyone shops for everyone else's kid. I have one kid. All the other familys have 2-3-4 type kids. We were expected to spend 25$ on each of these gifts. I'm sorry, I'm not a cheap person normally. But we don't have the money to spend 200$ on our own child for Christmas let alone 200$ on everyone else's when we only have one to there 2-3-4. (Okay rant over.) So I decided since I was in Disney I would find each of the kids something smaller less expensive from WDW. Ya know the thought of it being from Disney when none of these kids have been before being part of the gift, and it turns out it was a great idea.
Second background. Alexa turned 3 on our drive down day. The day before my dad gave her a purse and wallet with her own spending money. $100 in 1's and 5's... so she could buy anything we told her she couldn't have. This will bring on a melt down later.
Okay on to shopping in China. Sad day I can't find the picture of Alexa and Joseph trying on Panda hats. If I can, I will post the later.
Alexa's first purchase with her money was the most adorable huge eyed little panda!
On to dinner. After spending like an hour trying to get our reservation number sent to us, they didn't even need it at Nine Dragons.. :lmao: Seriously I went to all this trouble, and you don't even want to look at it? Oh well... On to yummy food!
I didn't get a picture of the Wanton's. We ate them wayyyy too fast, because they were way to good. Mom ended up ordering a second plate of those.. again they were eaten way too fast for a picture!

I don't remember the names. I didn't keep a notebook like you ladies did! But I remember one was a spicy chicken and beef plate, one was a shrimp thingy, and the fried rice had too many onions for my liking.
Overall it was a good meal. Not the best of our trip, but not the worst. Joseph enjoyed it, and that's what mattered!
So on to more Epcot enjoyment. And Alexa's first character meet! Who do you think she will see?!?!

Okay color change. It was too light for the last post. I had the wrong color!
Off we start wandering. I texted Amy to see if they were done with dinner at Akasheurs (spelling?) yet. She said that her crew was exhausted and was already lounging back in the hotel room! No biggie we had a meet planned in the morning!
About this time, we were almost to.. the Caramel shop... and who do we see??? Someone who's going on a ten minute bathroom break!
Alexa waited patiently!

She loved that autograph book. She wanted to hold it at all times, but we didn't want it to get lost. We had actually intended to let her use my old autograph book, but of course we left it at home! So we bought her a new one on the way into Epcot as we were having the early reservation melt down!
She loved Snow White. I'm really glad she had her first character interaction with one of the live characters first! She didn't want to leave Snow White!
We took a picture of this to come back later and visit, but never got back over here.
http://i263.photobucket.com/albums/ii122/lilpixiebabe101/Disney%202011/IMG_0773.jpg
Instead we played with pennies in Italy!
http://i263.photobucket.com/albums/ii122/lilpixiebabe101/Disney%202011/IMG_0059.jpg
(Oh by the way speaking of pennies... I know some of you know, but I forgot Buddy's M&M's penny press tube. So all trip we were saving quarters and shiny pennies. I'll take a picture of all his pennies and post them at the end!)
More playing in the shops. I think these are all a bit out of order, but who knows lol!

and Alexa's Mommy went off to find...
http://i263.photobucket.com/albums/ii122/lilpixiebabe101/Disney%202011/IMG_0774.jpg
Which was AMAZING!
After this, watched Reflections. We were kind of on the edge of one of the bridges. Not a bad viewing spot. Alexa was flipped out by all the noise. Andy had the right idea with the headphones. We will know for next time! I don't know IF we took any pictures. I'm sure we did!
We finally toddled off to Pop! To get a good night sleep to be up super early the next morning!
A picture of course with the Pop Tree!
http://i263.photobucket.com/albums/ii122/lilpixiebabe101/Disney%202011/IMG_0061.jpg
And one more bus picture that I missed from our first day. He's such a good BrUncle to her! (BrUncle- Uncle but practically a big Brother)
http://i263.photobucket.com/albums/ii122/lilpixiebabe101/Disney%202011/IMG_0031.jpg
Now on to upload to photobucket! Coming up Alexa's first glimpse of my castle... Did I build up the moment too much? or was it everything I hoped it would be for her!?!?!

Up we get, bright and early! Why?!?!
It's off to Magic Kingdom we go for the moment I've been dreaming of since we decided to go!
Alexa seeing Cinderella Castle for the first time!
We get up early and head straight out. No stopping for breakfast because we have 8am ADR's at Crystal Palace! I text Amy as we get on the bus to see how they are making it for time. Apparently not so good, got a late start and then either bus or monorail trouble I believe?
We forgo the Rope Drop ceremony and slip in the early ADR admittance walk through. I'm continuously texting Amy at this point cause she's worried they won't make it before rope drop to run for the left side when they get in, so they didn't have to spend the time asking/looking for where to go once they arrived.
We get in through the tunnel, and Alexa is looking at everything. Joseph has her up on his shoulders at this point for some reason? We get to the corner of the first store on the left side of Main Street just out of sight of the castle. Mom gets the actual video camera out instead of her phone, so I will see if I can find away to transfer that few minutes of film onto my computer to show y'all.
We turn the corner onto Main Street and at first she just kind of stares, and then she starts to smile a little. And I asked her if she knew who's castle that was, and she got all excited and started smiling really big and whispered "Cinderella's"! She was huge smiles all the way down the way! Definitely worth the extra planning to be able to let her see it without all the people!
Joseph complained cause he didn't get to see her face full since she was on his head... Silly boy could have put her down at any time!
So we head up Main Street to get some Photopass pictures in before we dig in at CP!

Don't Stop me Now... Having such a good time... I'm having a ball...
Oh wait.. Back to the TR. I'm on a roll today! With two hours left to go of work! I might finish day 2 and start day 3. Who know with all this craziness!
After our photo shoot with the castle, we head over the CP. We had just gotten back over there when I get a text from Amy saying they are skirting around the entrance lines and are booking it down Main Street! A few moments later I look up to see a frazzled looking Amy hurrying her kids past Casey's Corner! I shout her name, and we hug and start talking like old friends!
Alexa of course was being shy. Her kids were so sweet and polite. I can get over how much her boys look alike. I would swear they were twins if one wasn't just a tiny bit taller!
http://i263.photobucket.com/albums/ii122/lilpixiebabe101/Disney%202011/IMG_0617.jpg
We all get checked in and wait to be seated. We all continued to talk and chit chat until we are called inside. (My mom by the way thinks this is nuts. She just doesn't understand the bond we have all formed! She couldn't not understand why I wanted to meet up with "these random people you have never met and will never meet again" while we are on vacation. Little does she know :scratchin + :surfweb: + :teacher: = party: gets all of us at Disney together! )
I digress though from my entertaining smiley faces!
CP was amazing as always. Alexa was a little to preoccupied with Winnie and friends and didn't eat much!
http://i263.photobucket.com/albums/ii122/lilpixiebabe101/Disney%202011/IMG_0623.jpg
Okay so as I'm looking apparently my mom only took video with these characters? I'll have to see if Joseph has some on his phone.
But she loved them! She was a little stand offish at first, but she got all of them to sign her book. Plus she gave them all a hug and kiss on the nose!
And the video that I will hopefully be posting next.. is um one of my more interesting of the trip. Alexa sees and does her thing wity Eeyore, and then as I'm putting her back in her seat and getting ready to sit down, he pulls me back up for a hug and makes a kissing noise in my ear. So apparently Eeyore's CM thought I was cute!
http://i263.photobucket.com/albums/ii122/lilpixiebabe101/Disney%202011/th_IMG_0790.jpg (http://s263.photobucket.com/albums/ii122/lilpixiebabe101/Disney%202011/?action=view¤t=IMG_0790.mp4)
After breakfast, we headed off to walk through Cinderella Castle and see what we wanted to ride.
We found some rides and some very entertaining characters! Who do you think we found right outside the back arches of Cinderella Castle?!?!
