freezer so that you won't eat too much of it all at once, but then when the "urge for sweets" entices you, you make a mad dash to the freezer and eat the candy anyway -- FROZEN and all?!!!
Guess what? I do! Anyone else do this?

LOL Marie :teeth: We don't do that but you gave me a great idea... we have tons of Snickers left and I love them frozen! I'll have to go put a few in the freezer now ;)
We just keep the rest of ours in a bowl and munch away until it is all gone

I try to give it all away but sometimes I freeze it. Goodness knows, I sure don't need to be eating it :)

I don't need the extra candy either, but it sure is fun having it around at Halloween time. Thank goodness it only comes once a year!:D

I've never done that but I guess even freezing them isn't a deterrent. ;)
I do get a smaller bowl than necessary on the day and keep a few of my faves in the bag...and then, oops! Halloween's over and look at all the goodies leftover.

Marie,
John's favorite candy in the world is frozen Snickers bars. We keep them in the freezer almost all the time for him. Frozen Kit Kats are good too though:D

Dorothy, we had the beggers come tonight... our city never does it on Halloween anymore for a bunch of reasons :)

Frozen Snickers are the best! Haven't tried the frozen Kit Kats though, Beauty. I'll have to buy some of those and give it a try this year!
:p :p :p

:p Marie,
I equate eating frozen chocolates right out of the freezer with drinking out of the carton!! ;) :teeth:
Sorry, I couldn't resist. Good to see you. I've missed seeing your posts of late. :)

You know, in theory, I am supposed to buy the stuff DH and I don't like, so we will not be tempted. We did that last year, and then brought the 2 unopened bags to Catholic Charities for the kids in the battered women's shelter (figured they needed a little sweetness in their lives).
Well, this year, DH comes home with all the good stuff (Kit Kat, Snickers, Skittles, etc)
I think I am going to try to restrain myself and give the leftovers to Catholic Charities again. Might be a nice tradition to start sharing with DS (5YO)
So, to bring it back to Lady M's original thread, ours never makes it to the freezer! lol

We've been known to do that! :teeth:
I think that Kit Kats are better frozen than any other way! I much prefer a frozen Kit Kat to a thawed one. (Oh great... now I'm craving a frozen Kit Kat but all we have is a whole pile of room-temperature ones by the front door ;) )
And I agree, it sure is great to see you around and posting again Marie. I was just thinking of you. :)
The chocolate never makes it there...:o ..
DW knows she can put it there & I'd never look for it....
I never look for anything unless it's in the fridge..

We used to do that to try and keep us from eating the candy before Halloween. However, it did not work because we would eat it frozen. LOL

Hate to bust everyone's chocolate fix but, I will actually have to EMPTY DD's Halloween bucket from last year before she goes out again on Thursday. Neither of my kids are big candy eaters.
I did freeze some last year and, refrigerate some more but, eventually I threw it away. :(
I DID send an unopened bag of Snickers to PatrickIL last year so, I know who can use those again this year!!! :p
I myself, like the 'fun size' bars tho, at least at 1 a day, you're not doing TOO bad, right?!?!? ;)
(Elaine, you confused me, too!! :o )

Leftover candy from Halloween, stays out and becomes candy for Thanksgiving. :p It never makes it though. :p

Yup I love them frozen....with Milk!:p I think I polished off your bag in a week or so Kim :) I have two personal bags frozen in the freezer at home, another dear friend just sent me a whole box that I now have in in my little refrigerator at work for when I need my fix! Frozen is the best and with some luck we will not get many trick or treaters and I can stash even more!:p

Yeah Columbus is freaky like that. (Halloween on the 30th - Independence Day Fireworks on the 3rd)
Ok...I will admit to stashing some Snickers and Kit Kats in the Freezer, JR Mints too....SO when I need a chocolate fix, I can have just a little bit instead on a whole bar.

So far, so good. I think the trick or treaters have quit for the evening, and we have "tons" of leftover candy.
Now the question is......"to freeze or not to freeze"??!!
That is the big decision for tonight.
So much candy.......so little time to eat it all! :D

Ummm.. with my DH in the house it never even MAKES it to the freezer..
I'm not much of a candy lover myself - just a few things I like and most are hard to find now..

YUP!! I even taught my kids to weed out the chocolate and put it in the freezer on Halloween night. They never knew how many times Mommy snitched a little here and a little there!! I still love frozen Snickers and the only way I eat Reese's Cups is frozen! We ended up with no trick or treaters tonight, so we now have a whole bag of Reese's and another of Butterfingers for the freezer. If I can keep Dave away from them, they'll last till summer!!!! But, I bet it will all be gone before T-giving.:(
