Has anyone else seen this film?

Wow wow wow. My kids (9,13,16) have been talking about for a week now since we saw it, and I would put it up against some of the best films that I have ever seen. It's touching, funny, and takes time to tell a story. Every scene seems to have a hidden meaning which you find out about later.

It was lovingly dubbed and slightly "americanized" by animators from Pixar and Disney. Voice work is superb.....I could go on and on. My daughter pestered me until we saw it a second time. She has never asked me to see a film twice at the theater.

It reminded me, a bit, of the Nintendo Game series, Zelda, in that unusual, strange characters populate a world, within which an ordinary girl is forced to make her way.

The point is, that it is only in about 150 theaters and you have to find it. It's appropriate for just about any age. Released by Disney, it is a wonderful film for the whole family.

Hopefully it will have a nice little run and then be available on DVD. I will be first in line.

I agree with everything you said. I would like to see it again, but it was too far of a drive to see more than once. I will definitely be picking this one up on DVD.

It is at AMC Downtown Disney right now if anyone is headed to WDW. I hope it is still there next week as I would love to see it.

Spirited Away is an execptional movie. Its the best thing Miyazaki has done since Totoro. Make the effort to find and see this film!

We're stuck waiting for DVD here.....the only theaters showing it are over an hour away. Can't wait. I'm guessing there's probably no chance that it will still be in a Downtown Disney at Thanksgiving. I'd actually take time out of our vacation to see it.

Hey, are they still selling the plush Totoro at Epcot? We saw them there in July. We almost bought one. (but didn't, because we've vowed to buy no more plush...after a while they seem to take over the house! We've evicted most of the ones who lived here previously...)

You may not be stuck waiting for it on DVD - they are gradually releasing it into more theatres each week. It is supposed to be released on a large scale in the next couple of weeks.

(I haven't seen it yet, but I think I'm going tonight!)

I all of a sudden started seeing reviews for the film a month ago and all stated it to be one of the best films in a long time. Then i tried to find out when it came out or where it was playing and it wasn't any where near me. Its a shame with some of the junk out there that i couldn't find a well rated family film like this to take the kids too. Sounds like a blockbuster rental now.
