Hi again!:goodvibes I'm back with another TR- this time our trip took place November 9-14th, 2011, we were staying in a 1 BDRM villa at BCV, and all five of us were going! That would be me, podsnel (Ellen), my DH, Pods (ok, his name is really Ken, but I've been calling him Pods since we met in college in 1980, because that's what we all called him, so there's no changing it NOW!! :rotfl:), and our 3 handsome sons- Timmy, 12, Tyler, 14, and Sean, 17. Our oldest son, Sean, is autistic, and as of late has been having a bit of a tough time dealing with the world- largely due to the fact his meds are not really working for him anymore, and are currently being changed. :sad2: Sooo...we had our work cut out for us on this vacation! But we had a wonderful time nonetheless! I hope you'll join me as I relive all the happy moments with you....:)

Prior to any trip, WDW or elsewhere, we have to prepare Sean for what's coming- so for a good month and a half, Sean reviewed a social story decribing exactly what to expect on our upcoming vacation. By November 8th, he was ready! ANd saying he was excited to go to WDW the next day.:yay:

On November 9th, not so much. :sad2:

On the morning we were to leave, he was having a hard time thinking about leaving home...and with 11:45 am quickly approaching, we knew we had limited time to get him out the door and into the minivan my dear friend, Evie, was going to drive us in to the airport. Even though he was tantrumming like crazy (would have made any 2 year old proud!) we KNEW he loves WDW, and once we got him there, he would be a very happy young man. But change is tough for him, so going somewhere he doesn't go to everyday (although I'd REALLY like to work on making THAT happen for him! WDW everyday...) is a BIG change. After hours of pleading, begging and cajoling, as Evie pulled into our driveway, I grabbed the one thing i knew he would follow to the ends of the earth, no matter how scary it was for him- his GIANT Green Eggs and Ham book! I said, "Sean! If you want this book you'd better follow me, because Dr. Seuss is going to Disney!"

And Dr. Seuss and I marched out the door with Sean following close behind.:thumbsup2

20 minutes later, we were being dropped off at Newark liberty Airport (yes, we do live that close to that part of NJ, and NO, my backyard does NOT overlook an oil refinery- we back up to acres of woods filled with deer and foxes and hawks and wild turkeys and...well, you get the idea. I just hate that everyone thinks my state is a cess pool and I like to take every opportunity I can to set the record straight that it is NOT!:snooty: :rotfl:). After a near disaster in the security line (where Sean was raising his hand to go to the bathroom, please) we were at the gate, waiting to board, us and a Dr. Seuss book of epic proportions-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/IMG_2971.jpg

Being that this was NJEA Teachers Convention week, flights are all filled and seats are hard to come by- as a matter of fact, even though I booked our flight 11 months prior (a 2:30 flight so they would only miss half a day of school), we had LOST OUR SEATS (thank-you Continental & United! :headache:) and were subsequently switched to an earlier 1:30 flight with seats all over the plane- except for 2, which were next to each other, so I could sit with Sean. Where he promptly fell asleep about 10 minutes after boarding.

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/IMG_2973.jpg

A couple of hours later, we were in MCO!!

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/IMG_2974.jpg

Congratulations, Sean & Sam-I-Am!! YOU DID IT!!!!:woohoo:

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/IMG_2977.jpg

The first thrill ride of the trip-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/IMG_2982.jpg

Soon it was time for for everyone's favorite bus ride-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/IMG_2985.jpg

NOOOOO!!!!! Not the icky yellow Mears bus!!!

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/IMG_2986.jpg

Aaahhhhh...THAT's better! :goodvibes

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/IMG_2991.jpg

 Until we pulled into the BC! (Ahead of the YC- isn't that weird? But ya won't hear us complaining!) Check-in was easy....

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/IMG_2992.jpg

Bless you, Ellen! I love how positive you are, even with a 17YO throwing a tantrum of epic proportions! I've seen those kinds of meltdowns and they aren't pretty. I'm so glad Sean followed his book to the van and made it to Orlando!! =)

We were anxious to go up and check out our 1bdrm- when I booked it 11 months before, I had requested to be in the same location as we had just had that October- Villa 438 had a HUGE balcony overlooking the quiet pool as well as the excellent location of being across the hall from the ice and the trash & recycling. I believe the CM asked me if I wanted the same room- and I said, sure! It was great!

Well, I don't know what that CM put in the notes of room request...but once we were in the villa, and we all saw the view we had, it became clear- we had the EXACT SAME VILLA we had stayed in the year before! How amazing!! And how wonderful!! Welcome to BCV 1 bdrm villa #438-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/Disney%2011%2011%20DSLR/IMG_5431.jpg

Sean was comfortable RIGHT away, even though this was his first time here- all those 1 bdrm villas have such a similar layout throughout DVC that he feels (I'm guessing) right at home as soon as he steps in.

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/Disney%2011%2011%20DSLR/IMG_5432.jpg

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/Disney%2011%2011%20DSLR/IMG_5433.jpg

I raced around taking pics- I really should have turned on more lights or waited a bit for them to warm up, but my boys can create a disaster area in seconds, so my goal was to get the room pics taken as fast as possible before they messed the place up!

The bell hop had walked us up, bringing our OL with her-

I love that BCV villas have that little entry way when you come in- nice place to store the OL.

Actually, it was T&T who knew we had the same villa as the year before- I kept saying that was impossible, what were the odds? But I checked last year's TR, and yep! They were right!! The balcony view-

Sean came to check it out, too-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/Disney%2011%2011%20DSLR/IMG_5455.jpg

I think he liked the looks of that pool, and he was already planning the rest of his night....I had packed our swimsuits in our carryon in case we wanted to swim before the luggage arrived, but everyone was hungry, so we opted to go have dinner at B&C first instead. Up next!

Man I wish our schools had fall break. I love traveling in the fall. Now that Sarah is in a traditional format public school we can not longer just up and go during the school year. Through 5th grade Sarah attended a Montessori school and with their format it was no big deal to take a week off for "educational vacations". Once Montessori was no longer an option for us I tried to talk Sarah into home schooling but she wants nothing to do with having Mom teach her. Oh well, at least we have Ellen to share her vacations with us. And because our traveling has decreased I save a lot of money. Yea for Ellen and her love of travel!!! :cool1:

Yeah. What a lovely picture Ellen.

Happy Thanksgiving. I hope you're having a wonderful day.

I'm starting to get a little turkey envy here. :goodvibes

ANd saying he was excited to go to WDW the next day.:yay:

On November 9th, not so much. :sad2:

:surfweb: Sighing in a "of course" way. :goodvibes

And Dr. Seuss and I marched out the door with Sean following close behind.:thumbsup2

:thumbsup2 for Sean - for you - and for Dr. Seuss.

First - being nosy - I would love to see a picture. :rotfl2:

And secondly - do I understand sister. I'm forever reminding people (um Americans) that Toronto sits SOUTH of quite a few US states - and parts of many -and we don't live in igloos. ;) Actually get less snow than Chicago. And then there are my own people - who HATE Toronto - Canadians love to hate it. It's a national past time. Tnink it's the devil so to speak.

So I get you. :goodvibes

The first thrill ride of the trip-

It IS a thrill ride. The first "yeah I'm here!" moment. How I love to fly. And MCO is a gorgeous airport. Ours - well before some revitalization -looks like a prison. :rotfl2:

Isn't the quiet pool/canal area underrated? It is - I love it.

So glad you started your November trip report. It did start a little rocky for you but so glad you were able to get Sean down there with you all. Looks like he is enjoying himself so far.

The view from your room is gorgeous. It looks so relaxing.

And I love your family picture from B&C. Tyler's expression just cracks me up. ;) So did you really get the kitchen sink? Would love to try one some day but I don't think the four of us could do it.

Hope you and your family had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Hi Kate! We are limited as to when we can go away by school now, too- we realized after last year's cruise (they missed 4 days and it was IMPOSSIBLE for them to catch up when we got back) that we can't pull them out- this year missing 1 day was easier (but STILL Timmy had a TON of work!! From ONE DAY!!) Well, at least he had a nice break over Thanksgiving (said with MUCH sarcasm and disgust)- this year we were thankful for ANOTHER Italian project (his third in 4 weeks), a science project, social studies homework and English & math homework. :headache: He probably has Health homework, too- but I don't even want to ask. Well, at least the Band didn't ask him to write a simple little symphony over the 4 day weekend! BTW- Tyler, a freshman, had no homework this weekend. Imagine that.

Sorry- the whole thing REALLY makes me crazy. Anyway.....hope YOU had a happy Thanksgiving with less homework than us!

I love TR's with Pics! Glad your trip is going smoothly so far.

Thanks arthur06! That's a wonderful thing to say! I'm so glad you are following along!:)

Yeah. What a lovely picture Ellen.

Happy Thanksgiving. I hope you're having a wonderful day.

Hi Lisa!!! Thanks for the Thanksgiving wishes! And our turkey was yummy, BTW! :rotfl:

Yea- that book was key to our success...

Well, not today, that's actually from last year, right after Christmas when we got 30 inches of snow. :scared1: Here's this year, when it snowed in October- CRAZEE!!!!!

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/IMG_5375.jpg

And here's an 8 pt buck who likes to hang out behind my house...or in our front yard-

I have pics of the hawks etc, but they're not on my computer so you'll just have to take my word! :rotfl:

I visited Toronto when I was in High School- we had a choir trip there- an exchange program with a band in one of the high schools there. First they came and stayed with us, then we went up and stayed with them- it was great!! We went to a park on an island, went to the top of the needle....I thought it was gorgeous there! :thumbsup2

Signing on for another one of your great TR's! And to make it even more special you are at my home away from home BCV! :lovestruc What a great room/view you got!!

So proud/in awe of you for soldiering on and drafting Dr. Seuss in the name of getting your family to Disney. :worship:

Not sure if I've mentioned this before but when I was growing up, my grandparents lived in Scotch Plains by a forest area they called "the reservation." Their address was Glenside Ave... I wonder if that is anywhere near you? No need to post your address on the internet.... just curious if it's the same general area. :upsidedow

Looking forward to hearing/seeing more and am grateful for the virtual trip "home." :goodvibes

Not sure if I've mentioned this before but when I was growing up, my grandparents lived in Scotch Plains by a forest area they called "the reservation." Their address was Glenside Ave... I wonder if that is anywhere near you? No need to post your address on the internet.... just curious if it's the same general area. :upsidedow

Oh! Of course I know where that is! But the Watchung Reservation is on the other side of town from me- I'm on the south side of town. The reservation is huge, it's in the Watchung Mountains (which are really more hills than mountains, but I digress.....) and is very pretty-

Looking forward to hearing/seeing more and am grateful for the virtual trip "home." :goodvibes

Thanks- I'm grateful for you saying hello on the virtual trip!:thumbsup2

Have I missed something at the Beach Cub--did they add a sleeper chair there? If not, where did you all sleep? Those look like tall boys you've got there!

No- no sleeper chairs- we brought an air mattress and a sheet and Sean's blankets from home. He slept next to our bed. :goodvibes He likes sleeping on it, as long as we bring the blankets he's familiar with. I set it up after dinner, and I took a pic, so you'll be able to see how it fits in the bdrm.:)

We walked over to B&C....

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/IMG_2996.jpg

Through here....

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/IMG_2998.jpg

It felt so good to be home! By the time we arrived at B&C, it was probably just before 6pm. We put our names in for a table- and the two CMs at the podium had a little debate over whether or not we could sit at a table right away (something about not putting 2 tables of 5 next to each other). They did offer us the counter right away, which we would have taken, but WOW am I happy we didn't- it would have been CRAZY trying to eat a kitchen sink all lined up in a row! :rotfl:

We placed our orders, and were quickly served

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/IMG_3004.jpg

I got a vanilla diet coke, Pods got a regular one-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/IMG_3006.jpg

Gee, they really look alike! Tyler got a rasberry coke (which looked the same, too- SHOCKER!!), and he loved it, but it was too sweet for me. Timmy, apparently not intimidated by the coming sink, ordered a vanilla milkshake, brave boy...

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/IMG_3008.jpg

Our server was Brian, and he was wonderful-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/IMG_3012.jpg

Sean was having a kids cheeseburger and french fries- ALL of them from all of us-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/IMG_3014.jpg

Pods & I had regular cheeseburgers with a side of onion rings to share- which we put on the burgers-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/IMG_3015.jpg

They were Yummmy.....Timmy got a hot dog topped with bacon and cheese-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/IMG_3016.jpg

According to Tim, this was the best hot dog in the world! Tyler got the same, minus the cheese-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/IMG_3017.jpg

Those earbuds make me NUTS! We were cutting everyone a little break this night, because the morning had been so challenging, but after tonight, no earbuds at the table- or in many other places.

We did enjoy our meal, it was simple and delish....but we REALLy came for-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/IMG_3018.jpg

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/IMG_3019.jpg

That thing is NO JOKE!!!

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/IMG_3022.jpg

I had told Brian that I was making the ultimate sacrifice for my family- I bypassed a No Way Jose (which is OMG my FAVORITE ice cream concoction in the world- and I mean on earth, not just WDW!) to help the family team devour every bite possible! He shared with me that the fudge & peanut butter are in the bottom of the sink- but I could barely find them!! OMG, that's a LOT of ice cream and toppings!! :scared1: We had asked for the banana to be left off (Pods & Timmy hate nanas) and the coffee ice cream was replaced witha scoop of some other flavor (I'm the only coffee drinker/eater in my house). Time to get to work!!

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/IMG_3023.jpg

Tyler's personal pile of dead soldiers....

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/IMG_3027.jpg

There had been quite a few of these sold while we were there- and several families walked by and commented on how we had kicked their butts on the thing. well, DUH! That's cuz we have a secret weapon- named Tyler, human garbage disposal of bottomless pitness...

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/IMG_3024.jpg

Sean was starting to get fidgety, so I decided to leave with him- they did tell me they couldn't finish it all, though. ALMOST...but not quite.

We really enjoyed having our first dinner here- it just felt so easy and relaxed since we were staying at BCV.

Up next- BCV...BW...BCV....BW....BCV....BW....BCV......

My boys just got a glimpse of your kitchen sink and we had one for the first time in october and they loved it. My youngest looked at the pic and said it looked my my oldest son. Actually your timmy and tyler remind me of my 2 boys in looks also. Glad Sean got his fries. Did he venture much from fries this trip?

Does that kitchen sink look good or what???? I couldn't even imagine trying to tackle that thing. Just seeing it I know that we would need at least 3-4 others to eat on it with us.

And the Beach Club is so relaxing. We have never been able to stay there, yet - we keep trying, but we have walked around it and toured it and would love to be able to get a room there some day.

Hi old friend! :cheer2: Don't worry- I'll continue to post over here-:goodvibes

Yes, Sean actually DID venture from the fries (but he never ate that cheeseburger although he is eating them now at home). That was one of the most exciting things for me during the trip- whenever Sean would eat something other than fries. :yay: He has made a lot of progress with new foods this past year- but with his medication issue, we didn't want to push him too much in WDW, because he was often so tense to begin with.

And you KNOW I need to see pics of your boys now! Please? :goodvibes

We once saw 2 couples each with THEIR OWN kitchen sinks (per couple) and they FINISHED!!!! :scared1: :worship: They didn't eat burgers and onion rings first though, so maybe that was the key.

I hope you do get to stay at BCV someday- I think it's doable at 7 months as long as it's not a super busy time of year- good luck!! pixiedust:

I love wildlife in the backyard, too- although I was not crazy about the dead fox in the street a month ago, and those wild turkeys were VERY agressive- but it was CRAZY to see them fly to the tops of trees 75 feet high! :scared1:

I'm hungry - and planning our Jan Boardwalk Villa week -

I guess every time I look at your pictures, I know I've got to have that cheeseburger and onion rings :rotfl2: I've never wanted to "wait" but the more reports I'm reading, the waits arent as bad as I'd imagine - I may just put this on our list!! :goodvibes

Last week we found a fox using our backyard as a 'shortcut' for her and her twin cubs! Then the dog discovered a squirrel, dh thinks it (the squirrel) expired from a heart attack. The dog was fascinated! The turkeys have stayed down the way - they are fascinating, who knew they did fly!

Glad you are sharing your adventure! Love that Dr. Suess book!

I will be back to post replies in a bit, just wanted to get a quick update in before I attempt to straighten my "Christmas has thrown up all over the place" house....

Sean & I walked back to the villa, and on the way we stopped in the Marketplace- I wanted to pick up butter & milk so I could make mac & cheese for Sean over the vacay (I brought a few boxes from home). Took a few pics of what they were offering that Wednesday night-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/IMG_3030.jpg

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/IMG_3028.jpg

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/IMG_3029.jpg

And one of a shop window-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/IMG_3031.jpg

Back in 438, our luggage had arrived :goodvibes so I was able to do some unpacking and bed-making for Sean. Since they allow 5 in a 1BDRM at BCV, but don't provide bedding for #5, we had packed one of our suitcases with an aerobed, his blankets, and a sheet. (Sean likes sleeping in this bed- we bought it last year for Thanksgiving in Tennesee, and I think this bed was the only thing he LIKED about that holiday...:sad2:) Anyway, here is how a single aerobed fits in the villa-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/Disney%2011%2011%20DSLR/IMG_5459.jpg

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/Disney%2011%2011%20DSLR/IMG_5461.jpg

Of course, we always have to bring his favorite stuffed pals-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/Disney%2011%2011%20DSLR/IMG_5460.jpg

When he sees everything familiar on that bed, he is VERY happy to sleep there. :cloud9: (and sorry thumper looks like he has seen better days- that is the cleanest he gets, and Sean won't accept ANY of the new ones we've tried.) Sean really wanted to go swimming, he kept asking the whole way back. Which is kind of weird, because he NEVER wants to swim at home. :confused3 No complaints from us- we are THRILLED, of course, when he wants to swim!! So when the rest of the family returned, we decided Pods would go in the pool for a bit with Sean, and I would take T&T over to the BW to see the entertainment and shoot some hoops. So Sean & Pods decided on the quiet pool-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/Disney%2011%2011%20DSLR/IMG_5465.jpg

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/Disney%2011%2011%20DSLR/IMG_5467.jpg

Which was REALLY quiet, because it was a bit chilly out there, everyone! So they moved over to the hot tub-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/Disney%2011%2011%20DSLR/IMG_5469.jpg

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/Disney%2011%2011%20DSLR/IMG_5470.jpg

T&T&I headed over to the BW via the BC quiet pool-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/IMG_3033.jpg

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/IMG_3036.jpg

About two steps before we got to the basketball kiosk, I realized I had messed up.

No cash. DUH. :headache:

So back we went to BCV to get some. But on the way, I remembered that a little bird on the DIS had told me to get a Sangria at the window for the walk over to EPCOT from BWV- well, I figured the Sangria would work for a walk to BCV, too, so I got one.

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/IMG_3039.jpg

So....back to BCV via the outside walkway, got the cash, then back to BW-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/IMG_3044.jpg

Where BOTH boys got one of their shots, so they pooled their winnings and instead of two little balls, got one BIG ball-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/IMG_3045.jpg

Yippee. Always fun to bring a basketball home on the plane. Actually, this was the ONE time I was actually a little sad we were staying at BCV- no basketball court like at AKV, SSR & OKW. Oh well- I'm sure they'll figure out some other way to play with it at BCV...:rolleyes1

The magician was JUST beginning his act- I was SUPER excited, because T&T have NEVER seen the entertainment on the BW- really, Pods & I never had before last year, either, I guess we just never hit it right.

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/IMG_3046.jpg

It was really, really funny (of course!) and so good, in fact, Tyler took those plugs out of his head to listen! Both kids enjoyed this, which speaks VOLUMES as to how wonderful the BW entertainment is- every child, teenager and adult in the audience were equally enthralled. Well, with the exception of that boy who was up there entertaining us, too- I'm pretty sure his family might have been slightly more excited- but only slightly. During the show, Illuminations went off over in EPCOT- here is the terrible awful photo I took-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/IMG_3047.jpg

Sorry, but my pics are just not the greatest when I'm on vacation with my family- I'm just too focused on my kids! Silly Mommy!

After the show, we walked back to BCV....via the outside back path that we wore down totally on this vacation. The boys were all going to hang in the villa- Pods had put Sean to bed already (well, honestly, Sean puts himself to bed when he is tired and on this day, WOW, was he ever tired!), and we were going to go back to the BW because I really, really wanted to have that tuna appetizer at FF....even if I wasn't hungry AT ALL...but this was the only night I could figure it in, so off we went! After, of course, strict instructions that there was NO ball bouncing in the villa on floor #4- which both boys understood would be HORRIBLE for the family below us, and they promised not to do. :thumbsup2

We arrived at 9:45 and were seated at the bar, which was where we requested (we did not have an ADR, something to keep in mind if you really want to come here and can't get in)-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/IMG_3048.jpg

I wanted to try the pumpkin cocktail that was on the menu- I do love me some pumpkin!!

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/IMG_3053.jpg

Well....I do love me some pumpkin, but this drink? Umm...not so much. It tasted more like eggnog to me than pumpkin- but the bartender was a DOLL- as she made it for me, she said I could have something else if it wasn't to my liking. SO...onto drink #2, a Grape Martini-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/IMG_3054.jpg

See the garnish? Frozen grapes- LOVE THAT!! I am soooo doing that the next time I serve grapetinis!

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/IMG_3055.jpg

Then it was time for tuna! Yellowfin Tuna Tartare and crispy tempura tuna vegetable Sushi roll - Hijiki and wakame seaweed, yuzu, tobiko, and wasabi foam, with a sweet and spicy sauce - $16.00

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/IMG_3056.jpg

I don't know if you have ever tried this, but...if you like sushi, you should. It's AWESOME!!

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/IMG_3057.jpg

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/IMG_3059.jpg

We asked for the check, and Lorna the lovely bartender at FF advised us we could get a 10% DVC discount at the bar- we explained we were 1 day shy of our TIW, since we were all getting new APs in the morning. Love that Lorna!

On our walk back to BVC, we saw that the magician had just finished his final act of the night (which had begun at 10 right outside of FF). We also saw a huge line of people waiting at Boardwalk Joe's, no doubt because of this menu-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/IMG_3061.jpg

On the way, i noticed this HORRID sign at ESPN-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/IMG_3062.jpg

which I was NOT a fan of AT ALL since we were leaving on Monday night, and I certainly didn't need any reminders of THAT fact.

At home we watched a little tv before calling it a night- in the morning, we were having breakfast at Kona and breaking in some APs at MK!

Nice quick update, huh? Nothing like stalling cleaning by an hour and a half! :rotfl:

:rotfl2: stalling cleaning? Well, thank you for your sacrifice - ALL for me!!

I was so looking for an update! and you have indulged me!! :worship: I do truly thank you for including the menus! When we first started planning our trip, we both had jobs, and I had visions of the chefs table at FF - now that we are scaling back our trip (and keep in mind it is our 30th wedding anniversary!) seeing the pictures and the tip about seating at the bar - :rotfl2: I cant wait for dh to come home so I can show him your pictures and say - we're so going to do this!!

Thank you for including all those pictures - I cant believe we're going to Disney!

just went back to page 2 - missed part 1!! DD 14 surprises me that everywhere she goes she always packs her "squishy" pillow (it is one that was popular a few years ago, filled with some kind of styrofoam beans - we cant seem to locate any anywhere!) that is held together in parts with duct tape - and a bear her brother got her on his first camping trip away from the family! I keep thinking she wont bring those on this trip or that trip - nope, she brought them on a High School Trip last weekend!

What a GREAT TR! I'm totally in! You have awesome food porn, that roll at FF looks awesome, we have to try that some time (which probably means 2013 becuase I have my 2012 trips already planned! :rotfl2:) Unless we do like you and hit it as a late night snack during our F&W trip next year!

Weve never eaten at Beaches and Cream and it looks fabulous. With just two of us we would never attempt a Kitchen Sink.

I loved all your pictures of the 1 BR villa, we just closed on a contract at BCV in February and had planned a stay there last October, but due to severe illness we had to cancel the whole trip. The last time I stayed there was when they were tearing up the tennis courts to build the Villas. I can't wait to get back there next year to try and recreate my trip from this year for next year.

Thanks for showing my what an awesome place that I can look forward to staying at for years to come!

I love the photo of Sean curled on the bed reading his book lying on the floor.

:lovestruc He is always very focused on his reading material, I have to say. :lovestruc

Hi there!! :wave2: Glad you like the food porn- as I recall, you take some mouthwatering pics yourself! That tuna is really fabulous- definitely worth the trip. They also make the BEST espresso martini, which I would have had, too, if it had not been after 9pm (I really can't do caffeine at night, I'll never get to bed). So, sorry you had to cancel your BCV trip, but congrats on your contract! I hope you have a fabulous recreated trip!! pixiedust: We feel so relaxed there, it's just wonderful. :cloud9:

On Thursday, I got up before everyone else to go take care of some business- we needed APs for all of us, and we needed a new TIW card as well. I thought I would just get my own AP right now, and we could get the rest of the family's when we went to MK later that morning. I wanted to try getting the AP from the BC Concierge desk with the hope that maybe things had changed and they would also be able to issue my TIW card- but, no such luck. I did get my AP though- and was handed the plastic card that looks just like a KTTW card. The concierge said that this was all they were able to issue at the hotels, they were not set up to print the tyvek cards. After that, I strolled over to the IG to get my TIW card- and asked the CM if I could get a tyvek AP from him to replace the plastic one I had just gotten moments before- I was worried that I might throw it out at some point after the trip, thinking it was an old room key.

I am so, SO glad I wanted a tyvek card and I said something.

The CM at the IG (International Gateway- the back entrance to EPCOT) shook his head and said, "I can't believe they are still doing this."

:confused3

He went on to tell me that the problem with getting an AP at the hotel is that their system is not interfaced with the parks' system, and if you lose an AP issued at BCV or any other hotel on property- they have no way of tracking it, and you are out of luck. :scared1: WOW- is THAT good to know!! Lesson learned- I will ALWAYS buy my AP at the park!

Back at the room, everyone was just about ready to go- we had a breakfast ADR at Kona. So off we went, and our very most excellent transportation mojo followed us to the bus stop, where we walked up, and a MK bus pulled in-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/IMG_3063.jpg

When we got off and were walking to the monorail at MK, the most excellent transpotation mojo follwed us AGAIN as a boat pulled right up and we got on her instead-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/IMG_3065.jpg

First we stopped at-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/IMG_3066.jpg

So excited they are building a DVC there!! I LOVE having options of trying more resorts (hopefully)! I wish it was being built at the Poly, though- I think I would have to add on a few of those points....anyway, we were arriving...

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/IMG_3074.jpg

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/IMG_3076.jpg

Look MEK!!

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/IMG_3078.jpg

We checked in and were handed our pager. Meanwhile, we perused the pastry selection at the sushi bar-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/IMG_3079.jpg

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/IMG_3080.jpg

After about a 15 minute wait, we were seated.

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/IMG_3081.jpg

This is tied for my favorite breakfast at WDW- with Kouzzina, and wait- there's a new contender (for me) WPE- but for Tyler THIS is the one place he HAD to come to on vacation- Tonga Toast may just be his favorite brekkie of all time!!! First things first- even though it was only me drinking coffee, I HAD to have-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/IMG_3082.jpg

We placed our order, and waited VERY PATIENTLY to be served. The food is really, really yummy here, but I can promise you Kona will NEVER be confused with any fast food type of restaurant. Good thing the food is worth the wait.

We had asked Sean what he wanted when looking at the menu, and he said french toast- so we had him order the kids portion.

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/IMG_3083.jpg

As you may have heard, Sean really only eats french fries when we are in WDW restaurants. So we weren't expecting him to actually eat this when it came out. But guess what? Sean LOVES french toast! Surprise surprise!!! He gobbled up every bite!

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/IMG_3088.jpg

We were ecstatic- and also mad at ourselves for getting the kids portion (we would know better next time!). After reading Mickiniki's recent food report, I had been in a dilemma for weeks over whether or not to get the Pumpkin Pancakes that was a special when she was at Kona, or the Macadamia nut pancakes I had been craving all year. Well, I had worried for nothing, because they were not being offered the day we were dining at Kona. So I convinced the hubby to split our breakfasts. :thumbsup2 I had The Samoan - Poached eggs with Hollandaise served over smoked pulled pork hash - $9.99

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/IMG_3084.jpg

And umm, yea, in case you were wondering, this is very, VERY delicious- although I would have liked for it to be a little hotter. Pods got Macadamia Pineapple Pancakes - Served with Macadamia nut butter, pineapple sauce, and your choice of ham, bacon or sausage. - $9.99

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/IMG_3086.jpg

We split our entrees right down the middle and shared- OMG, those pancakes are the BEST!!! I can't WAIT to get to Hawaii this summer, I am going to OD on Mac Nut pancakes while I am there! Tyler couldn't wait to have Tonga Toast - Banana-stuffed sourdough bread, rolled in cinnamon sugar with your choice of ham, bacon or sausage. - $10.99

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/IMG_3085.jpg

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/IMG_3089.jpg

He was moaning the whole time he was eating!! He really loves that stuff!! Timmy went with Pancakes - Served with your choice of ham, bacon, or sausage. - $8.99

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/IMG_3087.jpg

Which he couldn't pick which of the meats to have, he wanted them all, so we all shared ours with him. We all loved our breakfasts, and we will be back, most definitely, next year for more. :goodvibes

Up next- it's a beautiful day in MK!

Sorry for the delay, everyone- life has been nuttier than usual around here! But now back to our regularly scheduled program....

We left the Poly (which is STILL the one resort both Pods & I have wanted to stay at our whole lives but never have...I'm going to have to do something about that someday when one of those codes comes out...anyway...)and hopped on the monorail to MK

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/IMG_3090.jpg

We went straight over to Guest services to purchase 4 more DVC APs so we would all be covered not only for this trip, but also next year's BIG 9 night one. Very happy to save $100 per person with DVC, but yikes! Those passes are still expensive! Good thing most of it was covered by a Disney Visa rewards card. Anyway....it was time to go have some fun!

Ahhh...all decorated for Christmas on November 10th-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/IMG_3092.jpg

And look who welcomed us on Main St!

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/IMG_3095.jpg

When talking with Sean about our trip for months beforehand, he made it very clear which ride he was most looking forward to- and T&T were very happy to make his wish come true-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/IMG_3096.jpg

This was actually the first time we couldn't all fit in one cup together as a family. :sad1: Anywho...here's my happy boy-

I was having some tummy issues on this trip, and this was the one and only time the tea cups made me feel :crazy2:. I had to really make sure I kept my head up or else it was vertigo vomit city.

Sean's next favorite ride is Buzz, so that's where we headed to next. We passed an old friend on the way-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/IMG_3104.jpg

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/IMG_3105.jpg

Now, I don't know exactly what Timmy hit, but about 10 seconds after being able to play, this is what our scores were-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/IMG_3110.jpg

I think Timmy won! And apparently I lost it!

Pods was as exciting as ever-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/IMG_3113.jpg

At this point, Pods, T&T went on Space Mountain, and Sean and I went in search of some regular (as in not caramel) popcorn- which took us all the way to Frontierland to find-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/IMG_3114.jpg

But gave us a chance to see the progress over there in Fantasyland-

Next, it was time to go to the Barbershop- I had made an appointment (before we left home) for both Sean & Timmy to get haircuts while we were there. Did I mention how AWESOME it is that you can book appointments now? Put us right to the front of the long line- we still had to wait, but not as long as we would have had to. On the way there we passed-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/IMG_3127.jpg

But before long they had to move, because it was time for Move it Shake it!

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/IMG_3136.jpg

Thrilling, huh? Sean was in desperate need of a trim, but Timmy? He was just getting cut because - he really likes it there. LOVES to get all Pirate dusted up! Even though he won't EVER admit it in front of Tyler.

I am the opposite of you- I have never been there for anything but breakfast- I have had ADRs for it, but always they have ended up cancelled. What do you like for dinner? I can tell you that Tonga Toast is VERY sweet, being coated in sugar- but it is Tyler's favorite breakfast of all time. :thumbsup2 Can't wait to hear what you think of it when you go!

Thank-you! We LOVE HHI- we've been 3 times, and are trying to figure out when we can go back- maybe in 2014. Although I might be able to convince my hubby to go sometime for a quick golf trip-if we can ever get a decent airfare (we have always driven in the past). Thanks for reading! :goodvibes

Next, Sean wanted to ride Winnie the Pooh- I have to say we tried before the haircuts, but even with the GAC, the line was just not moving at all. Sean was thrilled we were finally going on-

I have to say- his smiles were such a wonderful gift to all of us- there had not been alot of Sean smiles before this trip, we had been having a rough fall. To see him so happy was GLORIOUS!!

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/IMG_3161.jpg

We were on the FP line with our GAC, but we noticed all the new activities that were set up on the stand-by line. I LOVE that Disney seems to be doing this for so many rides across the parks- really helps pass the time while you wait.

Sean is such a good boy- he walked right over when I asked him to- the other boys sure didn't! Poor White rabbit- he had no line- I told him i guess everyone ELSE was late, this time! We noticed that the building was now gone-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/IMG_3190.jpg

And we passed some pretty birds-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/IMG_3191.jpg

Sean and I went to get him some fries at Pecos bill's while the others went on the mountains.

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/IMG_3192.jpg

I have to say, the park was feeling very crowded, so once the boys were back, we all decided to return to BCV and go for a swim. Next!

I am laughing at Tyler's ear buds, not at Tyler but at my spouse. Rob bought Sarah "one of those machines" for one of her holiday gifts. Poor man, he does not know what he has done. :rotfl2: I see many battles ahead regarding her new "earrings".

Love Timmy's blue hair and Sean's enjoyment at being at Disney. Does Sean normally like rides that spin or involve wind? Just curious.

And secondly - do I understand sister. I'm forever reminding people (um Americans) that Toronto sits SOUTH of quite a few US states - and parts of many -and we don't live in igloos. Actually get less snow than Chicago. And then there are my own people - who HATE Toronto - Canadians love to hate it. It's a national past time. Tnink it's the devil so to speak.

Everyone gets less snow that Chicago, except maybe Buffalo... and that depends on the year. I grew up there, left about 34 yrs ago and haven't missed it at all, not even the CUBS but I have WGN and go see them in other cities.

Loved your TR! Great tip about the Sangria! We stayed 4 nights in Oct at BWV and never noticed you could get it at the Pizza window! Now we know

Also loved your pics of your BCV room. We've never stayed there, and look forward to it. :goodvibes

DD got her first haircut at Harmony Barbershop this past fall. We had such a great time at that place! Your boys look like they did too. Love the blue hair!

Hi Sandy! I am so, SO very sorry I missed your post somehow! I just read it this morning while trying to figure out where I left off so I could start again.

First off, Happy Anniversary and congratulations on your upcoming trip!:yay: There were several couples sitting at the bar eating, as well as several empty seats- I hope you like sitting there! :goodvibes FWIW, any restaurant that has a bar will allow you to order from the menu- including places like California Grille- so it's always an option to keep in mind if you can't get an ADR.

And your daughter's squishy pillow? Sounds very loved. :lovestruc

Thanks for reading-

So how is it going with the new earrings? UGH. We all love our ipods, but the earring thing is the worst- He does take them out more than it looks, though-

And yes, Sean loves spinning, not sure what you mean by wind- he used to go on all the rides, but then stopped when he was 11 or so- right when puberty kicked in- no more Space Mountain or BTMRR, no more heights. What's wrong with Toronto? I had a great time threre in a music exchange program when I was in high school- the band came to NJ for a week and stayed with our families, then our choir went up and stayed with their's- it was the BEST!!!! We all made so many great friends, and saw so much of your city- isn't there a park on an island? We went there one of the days- loved it!:lovestruc And very happy you like the TR, too-

It looks like you also got Push's handler in the picture, too! See the guy in the khaki shorts and plaid shirt? Pretty sure that's him!

Thanks! You know, I tried to look around for the handler, but honestly I was so fascinated by the garbage can I didn't give it much of an effort! :rotfl2:

Happy 2012 everyone! Here's to hoping for a FABULOUS year for us all!

We were back at BCV, and going for a swim- what was really interesting about that was this request came from Sean- who, in nearly all other circumstances, does not really like to swim. But in Disney? Seems he can't get enough! :goodvibes We all were happy to be hanging in SB, though, not just sean-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/IMG_3197.jpg

We took turns watching Sean and going down the slide- which, unfortunately, was shut down pretty quickly- the lazy river was also closed until 5pm (I'm guessing due to some bio problem, but what do I know. Other than MY kids wore SWIM DIAPERS until they were potty trained- and I really don't understand the parents who are ok with their wee little poopers swimming sans mars bar pool protection, but maybe that's just ME). Sorry- but I seriously think these people should be tossed out for LIFE!

Anyway.....there were games going on at the pool-

an UPDATE

Sorry you were in a funk. I do hope the meds will work for Sean. I love that you are sharing your pictures and your experiences, the snapshot of love! You can just tell the love from that one pool picture of your dh and the boys!

Its not easy day to day - but having the snapshot moments... helps!

Its been 2 years since we were at BCV - and it was too darn cold to talk about! (2010 Jan. epic cold - destroyed so many plants) We havent been able to take advantage of the swimming! 2 more sleeps till we fly to BWV!!

Thanks for reminding me about the Sangria! and since dh is running 39.3 miles in 2 days, I really havent that many reservations. We'll just be together. :wizard: But if he's up to it, we'll hit the bars up! :rotfl2:

We were looking forward to an early dinner tonight at YS. Originally, we had planned on kicking off our vacation with dinner here, but when we realized we would be getting our new TIW the next day....well, no question- YS had to MOVE!!! :rotfl: 20% off there is no chump chnge, KWIM? What was available for a party of 5 was a 5pm ADR- so, although MUCH earlier than we usually like to eat, we just skipped lunch & had a snack- so by 5pm, we were FAMISHED!!!!

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/Disney%2011%2011%20DSLR/IMG_5483.jpg

O.M.Geeeeeeeeeee!!!!!! Best drink EVAAAARRRRRRRR!!!!! I do love me some Gran Marnier, and rarely have I seen any cocktails where it is the main attraction- so I was a VERY happy girl! The other thing making me happy that night?

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/Disney%2011%2011%20DSLR/IMG_5485.jpg

Those amazing onion pull-apart rolls. I soooo love them- actually, THEY were the main reason I was so insistent on coming back here. I think I may have had 2....or possibly...3. And I am not usually one to load up on bread and butter (even WITH the sea salt on top)- but there was no stopping me at YS!

For Sean, we asked to have fries sent out asap, to keep him happy-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/Disney%2011%2011%20DSLR/IMG_5486.jpg

Uh-oh. Looks like we're going to go broke tonight buying potatoes! :rotfl: Tyler ordered a lobster salad which I don't see on the menu-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/Disney%2011%2011%20DSLR/IMG_5487.jpg

Tyler is a VERY good eater, but this was a little too sophisticated for my DS14. I chose the scallops (which were a different preparation than what I see listed online-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/Disney%2011%2011%20DSLR/IMG_5488.jpg

Sorry about my big head- I just couldn't get it out of the photo- but those scallops were fantastic! My only complaint would be that they were small for diver scallops, but they were an appetizer portion, I suppose. Pods had Charcuterie Board - $15.00

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/Disney%2011%2011%20DSLR/IMG_5489.jpg

The offerings are different from what is now offered- but it was a great starter- and lots of fun to try so many things! They gave me a menu, since it was my birthday that month- would be nice if I had that NOW, huh?

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/Disney%2011%2011%20DSLR/IMG_5491.jpg

On to the main courses- next post-

podsnel
01-03-2012, 10:03 AM
For my main course, i decided to try Deconstructed Beef Wellington - 8 oz. filet, trio of wild mushroom Duxelles, puff pastry. parsnips, potatoes, carrots and red wine sauce - $47.00

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/Disney%2011%2011%20DSLR/IMG_5494.jpg

This was good, but over-salted (like someone forgot they had already seasoned it or they salted the duxelles & sauce before reducing). We convinced T&T to split a steak- telling them it was a steak for 2, not 1. Porterhouse - 24 oz. Center cut porterhouse with Smoked Paprika fries and roasted garlic butter - $44.00

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/Disney%2011%2011%20DSLR/IMG_5495.jpg

They both loved the steak. Pods had 12-oz "Prime" New York Strip Steak - Carmody potato gratin and peppercorn bandy sauce $42.00

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/Disney%2011%2011%20DSLR/IMG_5496.jpg

This was delicious. For Sean, in addition to all the fries (which the server kept coming, as we had asked) Sean had some mac & cheese-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/Disney%2011%2011%20DSLR/IMG_5497.jpg

We were happy he gobbled it up, it was not elbow mac, and that could have been an issue in the world of Sean. But, thankfully, was not! With dinner, Pods had a glass of the house Merlot, and while I normally am a wine drinker, I HAD to have another-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/Disney%2011%2011%20DSLR/IMG_5498.jpg

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/Disney%2011%2011%20DSLR/IMG_5499.jpg

And...I am sorry to say, not ONE of us had room for dessert. Darn those onion rolls! :rotfl:

All in all, a very good meal- we do have better steakhouses at home (with all Prime meats, like Peter Leuger- yummmmmmmmmmmm.......), but we did enjoy ourselves and would go back, if we were staying at BCV. A quick pic of the meat man before we left-

I am so far behind with trip reports. Classes start today at our college and the week or two before they start is pure chaos for faculty and staff alike. Since half of my assigned classes are online, everything has to be up and ready before classes are open to the students (which was 8 am this morning).

So far we have been lucky with the new Ipod earrings. Sarah kept the Ipod in her hand for the first few days but never put the buds in her ears. Now she has lost interest in it and tends to turn it on for just an hour or two a day, still not using the buds. I am sure her interest will ebb and flow according to her activity level. I am afraid school keeps Sarah really, really busy. She is in the Jazz club and they meet at 6:50 AM twice a week and she tutors oboe after school on Mondays, she has Irish dance club for two hours each Sunday (and they dance the entire time), art classes on Monday nights, plus her normal school work and homework – so she is a busy, busy young lady. Oh and she has discovered boys:scared1:. By the way, she thinks your boys are cute :ssst: (don't tell her I told you).

When I mentioned wind and Sean, I meant rides that go fast enough that you can feel the wind flow through your hair.

Puberty does weird things to all children. It is a rough time for children even when they do not have extra issues to deal with, then throw in atypical physical, psychological or intellectual challenges which a child may deal with on a daily basis and you increase the stress level massively (for both child, siblings and parents). I hope all goes well with Sean’s new meds. My fingers are crossed also.

Hi everyone! Sorry I have been MIA- I went to Punta Cana last week with girlfriends, and tomorrow I leave for Riviera Maya in Mexico with Pods! :yay::love::yay: Anyway, I just had to say.....

I am so EXCITED!!!!! I just booked Aulani for August!!!!!!!!!:banana::banana::banana:

I have been stressing soooooooo much over this, because we were using points at the 7 month window in the summer, when there might be higher demand- I had already booked our airfare via mileage points, and already booked 4 nights in Kauai pre- Aulani, so it was a missing piece of the Hawaii puzzle that i REALLY needed to fit. I used the online booking, which for DVC JUST began on the 19th, and THAT combined with having to book 2 days first with one contract and then 4 days 2 days later with my other contract REALLY made it stressful.

But we're REALLY GOING!!!!!! YIPPEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!:)

Anyway....here are a few pics from last week in Punta Cana. We stayed at Majestic Elegance which REALLY gives you a bang for your buck- beautiful accomodations, lots of restaurants to try, GORGEOUS beach that was not too crowded (especially to a few others we saw). The staff were all excellent- they were all so friendly and helpful! Four nights cost LESS than the flight, and that was all inclusive- drinks and food. :worship: We went to celebrate my friend Fiona's 50th Bday- what a great time we had! We would all definitely go back. Here's a few pics-

After our lovely dinner (remember that? A million years ago??) at Yachtsman, we were headed over to EPCOT. On our last trip with Sean, he was NEVER able to ride Test Track. It was just down every single time we went with him. SO SAD!!! Sean LOVES Test Track- a LOT. So we were, of course, headed straight there-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/IMG_3209.jpg

Sean was complaining he wanted to go to bed, but since it was before 8pm, we made him soldier on- Sean in bed before 8 means everyone gets up before 4! :scared1: Besides...we were going to Test Track!

When Sean says, "Daddy, pick me up"...well, that brings back a lot of memories- he's been saying it his whole life when he's tired and wants to be carried. Very cute when he was 6. Very hard to do when he is 17!!! :rotfl:

I can honestly say, when we got to the ride and it was actually running, there were four of us breathing a HUGE sigh of relief! I don't have many pics from the ride, because I just kept taking video of Sean- I could NOT STOP!!

SEAN WAS ECSTATIC!!! :yay: We were all so happy for him- he was in heaven! So much so, we went right back and rode again!

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/IMG_3220.jpg

Once that was done, we decided to ride SE...but Sean was done. Not wanting to push him any further, Pods took him back to BCV, while T&T&me stayed in the park. Since we lost Sean, we decided to hit Mission Space-

We have this thing about Seinfeld- so the "Go Time" thing really cracks me up! The boys? Well...they have never seen Seinfeld, so they just think I'm acting like a weirdo- pretty much, they're used to it. :rotfl:

After landing semi safely on Mars, we went on SE-welcome to our future!

When we came out of the golf ball, it was Illuminations time- but we did not waste any time looking for seats, because it was so late and we knew (well, I knew) we had primo seats later in the trip. Instead, we took a few bad pics-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/IMG_3238.jpg

And a traditional pic, which was minus Sean, but plus multiple random body parts. What the heck?????

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/IMG_3240.jpg

We did a little window shopping in England-

Before exiting the park opur favorite way, through the IG. :cloud9:

Minutes later, back in the villa, Sean was snoring and Pods was watching tv....we called it a night and floated off to sweet dreams.

In the morning...Golf for some, wanderlust for others! Next!

I just wanted to say I've been reading along to your trip report and enjoying the adventures. My brother-in-law is very similar to your oldest and I know the patience that is required, especially during trips (or anything outside of home). My brother-in-law only eats plain pasta with butter when we do trips to Disney. Now that he is 16, he can eat a LOT of plain pasta ;) Quite different than when he was 5. Just know you and your family get extra .

In the morning, I was the first to rise (I was on DISNEY time!! No sleeping in for me!), so while the boys were all getting ready for a day of golf, I went over to the Marketplace to get breakfast for everyone.

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/IMG_3244.jpg

I knew they all wanted egg/ham sandwiches, so that's what I brought back for them. And that was when i found out for sure that there were no more freshly made yogurt parfaits- CURSES, DISNEY DINING NAZI!!! :headache: That was one of my favorite things at the BC, has been for YEARS!!!! They do have the pre-made (read- SOGGY ones) in the case, but I was not ready to give in and try one of those yet. Besides, I had some other breakfast plans that morning with my handsome Shawnee....

Anyway, the boys really liked their brekkies-

Pods was taking Tim & Ty over to the Magnolia Course for 18 holes of golf this morning, they were teeing off after 10 so they could take advantage of the great discount on the course with our DVC golf membership. I would be having a day alone with Sean first at DTD, and then on to MK- much as we had done our last visit. But this post is all about golf, so....here are the golf pics Pods ACTUALLY took HIMSELF!!! :scared1:

The Mickey trap is on this course-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/IMG_3251.jpg

Pods says that course is beautiful- so perfectly manicured! When they finished up, they were surprised to see---for the first time EVER (to any of us)- that the Mickey cart was there! How cool!

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/IMG_3253.jpg

I give MAJOR kudos to Pods for all the pics- I was thrilled he took so many, especially the last 3!! :goodvibes That guy is allllllllllright! :lovestruc

Up next- how Sean & I spent our time together.

OMG, I nearly ate my laptop screen looking at this steak. :worship:

Those onion rolls didn't look half bad either ... :rolleyes1

:rotfl:That was a very good steak- but the rolls are truly my favorite.
Last night I was scoping out Kapolei restaurants on Yelp- did you mention Thai Lao or Pho & Co to me? Both look like they would be good for takeout to bring back to our ocean view villa to eat while we enjoy the sunset- what do you think? I also was looking at the Fia Fia Luau- I still haven't decided whether or not to do a luau, to be honest. But that one seems much smaller and more intimate. When we were on Hawaii for our honeymoon, we did the luau at our resort, Kona Village- it was EXCELLENT, because it was small and (they told us) authentic. Have you ever heard of the Fia Fia one?

Your photos are making me drool! Yes, those onion rolls are so yummy with that butter and sea salt. I'm happy for you that Sean is eating more of a variety while you are down there. That must make you very glad.

We are going back to WDW for the weekend. Will be staying at one of our home resorts of SSR. Tried to get in to BW but no luck. We love the BW! But that is ok. Just so long as we are there we really don't care where we stay. ;)

Have fun at the Beach!

Sean eating a variety of foods makes me ECSTATIC!!!

How was your recent SSR visit? I really like SSR- Timmy loved it there- and I am like you- I would stay at any of them and be quite happy to!:thumbsup2

I am so far behind with trip reports. Classes start today at our college and the week or two before they start is pure chaos for faculty and staff alike. Since half of my assigned classes are online, everything has to be up and ready before classes are open to the students (which was 8 am this morning).

How is the semester going?

She has such great activities! And also great taste in young men! :rotfl:

When I mentioned wind and Sean, I meant rides that go fast enough that you can feel the wind flow through your hair.

That makes sense- yes, i do believe he does enjoy the wind, but not a windy day- just a fast and windy ride.:thumbsup2

Yes- puberty is certainly a wild ride! Having all 3 at some point of it at once is a joy and a pleasure (why did I come back from Mexico again????). :upsidedow Sean's medicine is kicking in, but he is still not where I would like him to be. Ugh. Why did I come home from Mexico again?? :rotfl:

Know the stress of hoping to get Aluani. We booked for our June trip at 7 months to the day and got everything I wanted.

Have fun on your trip and looking forward to the next update.

That's no problem- I accept late readers VERY happily! :goodvibes

Congrats on Aulani to you, too- June was when people were getting closed out- but I'm thinking that was because of the point difference between earlier June and the remainder of the summer (we are paying Top Point for August 21-27). I hope you will report back on your Aulani adventures!!

Hi Pumpkinfish! Thank-you for the insight- and it's true- a 5 year old plate of pasta or french fries is a whole lot smaller (and less expensive!!) than a 16 or 17 year old one! :rotfl: I'm glad to hear that your BiL still enjoys Disney, though- it is a wonderful thing, as a family. Thank-you for the extra hugs- same back to you- and double to your Bil-:hug:

Once the golfers had left, Sean and I headed for the bus to DTD. Today was a beautiful, but quite chilly, day.

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/Disney%2011%2011%20DSLR/IMG_5501.jpg

Our AWESOME transportation mojo was still with us, and we were quickly picked up by the bus-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/Disney%2011%2011%20DSLR/IMG_5502.jpg

After reading about Karin's love of the breakfast pizza at WPE, I knew where we were headed for our first meal of the day- fortunately for us, we walked in with a huge line of patrons who were ALL behind us. I was also feeling optimistic with Sean, and hoped for the best as we ordered some cornflake french toast for him. We went over to grab a seat- Sean must have been pretty hungry, he was getting VERY anxious for the food.

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/Disney%2011%2011%20DSLR/IMG_5503.jpg

Finally, (just in time, I might add) here it was-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/Disney%2011%2011%20DSLR/IMG_5504.jpg

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/Disney%2011%2011%20DSLR/IMG_5505.jpg

O.M.G. Karin! That pizza was soooooooooooooooooooooooo delicious!! And HUGE!!! I ate two slices and wrapped up the rest (and ate it during the rest of the week). I cannot WAIT to have this pizza again! As for Sean and that crazy cornflake french toast-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/Disney%2011%2011%20DSLR/IMG_5507.jpg

He ate EVERY BITE!! Well, not the banana (maybe that's why the banana's dancing!) or the strawberry, but I considered it a HUGE deal that he ate that toast- it was not like anything else he has ever had before, I can tell ya that!

When we were finished, we went for a walk. Of course, Sean had to give Buzz a hug-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/Disney%2011%2011%20DSLR/IMG_5509.jpg

This was the opening day of the Festival of the Masters, and DTD was quickly filling up (but still VERY manageable)- there was soooo much to see! And, there was also alot of interactive craft stuff everywhere.

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/Disney%2011%2011%20DSLR/IMG_5510.jpg

Loads of crafting opportunities- but we were headed for the Lego store. At home, I had asked Sean if he would like to buy a new Lego kit when were in Disney- and many times, he had said yes. So off we went!

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/Disney%2011%2011%20DSLR/IMG_5511.jpg

I just LOVE the new displays-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/Disney%2011%2011%20DSLR/IMG_5516.jpg

Well, we walked in the Lego store....and we walked out of the lego store. Sean was not interested in ANYTHING other than getting out of there. Sigh...

So we walked outside, where I tried to get him to interact with some of the activities....

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/Disney%2011%2011%20DSLR/IMG_5520.jpg

This was cool- people were coloring in squares-
http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/Disney%2011%2011%20DSLR/IMG_5521.jpg

Which then were applied to this board as and became a mural.

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/Disney%2011%2011%20DSLR/IMG_5524.jpg

But Sean was not interested in coloring (and he loves art!). There was even a Lego one, with the same principle. I don't know why, but Sean had an agenda- and that agenda was to return to the Beach Club. He really wanted to spend as little time as possible here- maybe because it looked so different? Or maybe because...who knows? But I was determined to keep trying anyway-

I do hope to have another opportunity to see this festival- there really was a LOT to get involved in, and a ton of amazing arts & crafts- there were some very talented artists in attendance! The first morning was the PERFECT time to go, too- I would HIGHLY recommend it!:thumbsup2

Sean & I hopped on the bus, and, having lost our mojo, waited about 1/2 an hour for it to arrive. :sad2: Back to BCV for us. Which took close to an hour with detours, stops, and traffic. Up next- a nice relaxing day at the Beach Club with Sean. :)

Yay, another update!

Wow, Sean is really branching out in his food choices. Hooray!:banana:

He IS branching out with the food- what is HUGE for us here at home is that everyone BUT us has been able to get him to eat pretty much anything. Until this week. It occured to me that if I dangle the carrot (which in his case is french fries) and tell him to eat x first, get french fries second...well, he does it!! This week he has eaten salmon twice, tilapia and a cheeseburger- not to mention string beans, broccoli, edamame, carrots... YIPPEE!!!!!

Yay for all the new foods and textures!! That's huge! I am loving your pictures and videos!

YES, it IS!! :lovestruc See what I wrote above-:thumbsup2

That french toast looks amazing! What was on the pizza? That looked delicious, too. Really enjoying your report.

The pizza had scrambled eggs, Niman ranch bacon bits, tomatoes, cheddar cheese and ranch dressing. It was fantastic!:worship:

When I saw Dr. Seuss and BCV in the same title I knew I needed to read this thread - and I am glad I did !
Love your TR, BCV, pics, food porn and your family !
Looking forward to more...

Awww...thank-you!! I am going to post today- I did an update a few days ago, but it didn't "take". :sad2: Hopefully I'll have more luck today. :thumbsup2

dvc at last !

We were finally back to BCV, per Sean's adament request-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/Disney%2011%2011%20DSLR/IMG_5537.jpg

Where all he wanted to do was go up to the room. I drew a bubble bath for him, hoping it would comfort and relax him. Which it did, somewhat (who doesn't love a jacuzzi?), but he still was not ready to leave the room. So I popped some popcorn for him, and he read his book-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/Disney%2011%2011%20DSLR/IMG_5543.jpg

And then I, once again, shamelessy dangled the carrot.

We were on our way to a french fry lunch at the restaurant I was DYING to try, Captain's Grille!

Why was I looking forward to Captain's Grille? The great mystery of it, I suppose. I mean, think about it- EVERYONE knows B&C, EVERYONE knows Cape May Cafe, EVERYONE knows the Yachtsman Steakhouse....but what the heck is that other space for??? :confused3 Time to find out!

As you can see, it's VERY empty here at lunchtime- no ADR was neccessary. Of course it was empty. Other than people who frequent BC/YC, who knows it's here??? I was still full from the pizza, but I wanted to try some clam chowder. And, of course, order some carrots- aka, fries- for Sean.

Cont'd next post-

My New England Clam Chowder, which cost a whopping $6.99:scared1:, less my TIW, was...SPECTACULAR!

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/Disney%2011%2011%20DSLR/IMG_5559.jpg

Sorry I couldn't get my big head shadow out of the pic, but in the bowl are actual whole clams in the shell- I've NEVER seen that before! There were also 3 of these hard "biscuits" which I think were supposed to be like oyster crackers- but I don't like any crackers in my soup, so after one bite, I took them out. This chowder was as good, if not better than, any NE Clam Chowder I have ever had- and I have had plenty! Sean got a BIG bowl of "carrots"-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/Disney%2011%2011%20DSLR/IMG_5560.jpg

Ahhh...so happy! Pretty good for a mystery restaurant that most people walk by thinking what's in that room with all the empty chairs???? Can't wait to try it again when I'm much hungrier!

When we were finished, we walked through Fittings and Fairings, the gift shop, as I needed some sudafed. WOW- that gift shop KICKS BUTT over the little Atlantic gift shop at the BC- the clothing selection ALONE is outstanding- there is a MUCH better variety there.

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/Disney%2011%2011%20DSLR/IMG_5564.jpg

Soon, we were on our way back to the BC side of things-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/Disney%2011%2011%20DSLR/IMG_5563.jpg

But I was NOT about to go back to the villa, lovely as it was. I asked Sean to follow me to the beach.

GREAT choice. He could not have been happier! We spent a good hour and a half out there by the lake, and I think it was the PERFECT way to spend a chilly day at BCV with Sean.

I sure did think that! And I hope so too- last night we ate at Chili's, and they made the mistake of putting the fries down before his pizza- it did not even matter. He ate the whole pizza, and THEN the fries. :thumbsup2

Sean looks like he really enjoys feeling the sand on his feet. I am glad you guys had a happy day with one another. I really enjoy the times when Sarah and I spend one-on-one time together.

Yum on the clam chowder. I will need to stop by there and try it. When I was younger we would go clamming. I do miss living near a coast and having access to fresh seafood.

Pods & boys came back from golf, and we all went back to hang in the villa for a bit. I got a text from a good friend of mine, who happened to be on vacation at the same time- and staying just across the lake at BWV. Would I like to meet her for a drink? Of course!! We decided to meet at Crew's Cup because of this-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/Disney%2011%2011%20DSLR/IMG_5498.jpg

That yummy delicious Gran Marnier cocktail I had tried last night at YS. :thumbsup2 I was meeting Cammie, a lately occasional DISer (so occasional, in fact, I can't recall her screen name!) and a current forever original DISmom! :goodvibes Cammie loves her some Gran Marnier, and she and her family were in the area, so- we all met up. It was really nice to meet her sister, and to see her daughter Lauren again. Her sister mentioned she had been having a hard time finding sweatshirts for the cold outside- I mentioned checking out the Yacht Club's gift shop-and I saw them all later in their new stuff! That YC store is IT!! :rotfl: Here's a quick pic we took before we all went our seperate ways-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/IMG_3254.jpg

Back at the villa, everyone was ready to head over to DHS. Of course. we arrived at the dock and the first boat was full, so we had to wait. And wait. And wait.

Wheeeeeeeeeeere's the boat?

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/IMG_3269.jpg

Seriously.

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/IMG_3272.jpg

The boat pulls up. And allllllllll the people who got to the dock after us get on the boat....and we get shut out AGAIN!

Pods was a little...ummmm...upset.

We really should have just stood right by the boat entrance the whole time, but it was a LONG time between boats, so we had wandered. Not far, just not right on top of the boat ramp.

Really, in all the times I have ever stayed at BC or BW, I have never had this issue before. What the heck?

Clearly, we were not going to wait for another boat. So...we hoofed it.

'Cuz I've done that once or twice before.

Once Tyler got past "All the way to DHS?????????" we were on our way.

Piece of cake. Don't know why we didn't do it sooner. :rotfl:

Sorry, Ellen - lost my subscription to your thread (not sure how that happened??) In any case, I hadn't mentioned Thai Lao or Pho & Co because i haven't been to those 2 restaurants - they came up after I stopped working in Kapolei. But a former co-worker that's in the area states that Thai Lao is pretty yummy so I'm sure that it'd be a great take out option! The Evil Jungle Curry is a Hawaii thing apparently so I'd recommend getting that as one of your choices - choose mild spiciness unless you really like heat! http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys/smiley-merv/chilli.gif (http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys.php)

Have heard of the Fia Fia luau - the big attraction seems to be the Samoan fire knife dancing. Authentic in the sense that it's Polynesian, not authentic in the sense of Hawaiian. You may want to wait and see how you like the Starlit Hui before deciding on a luau. I generally don't think that luaus are something that people have to do ... food generally isn't all that great and you'll get the majority of the entertainment from the free Starlight Hui. If you really want Hawaiian food, I can direct you to a couple of places that would do it better than any luau would ... :rotfl:

Back on topic for this thread - glad to hear that Sean liked his fries at Captain's Grille. Too bad about the Lego store though ... that looked cool! We weren't planning on going to DTD during our upcoming WDW trip but now we may have to go :thumbsup2

Ok, I am not usually one for PTRs, but this time I am just SO super excited with my planning that I have to share!! Last night I booked the final piece to our airfare puzzle- the flights between Oahu and Kauai. I am happy to say I used ALL miles to book everything, including First Class for the 4 of us on the way home to NJ. Which is great, because it's a red eye. So we actually might sleep on the plane. :thumbsup2 The miles saved us BIG bucks- just coach round trip on our flights would have cost us over $4000. :scared1: We fly direct to HNL on the way out, so that flight will be a challenge- 10 hrs 40 min! :scared1: I think we're all going to have some Benedryl and hopefully take a nap! We'll have dinner in the airport before hopping over to Kauai, arriving at 8pm. After we pick up our luggage and get our rental car, we'll head directly to the hotel (for just the first night)-Kauai Beach Resort in Lihue-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/Hawaii%20teaser/imagesCA445WC1.jpg

It is close to the airport, and it gets good reviews on Trip Advisor- plus it's CHEAP! Less than $200 a night including the tax (and that's REALLY good for Kauai!). I remember from our last visit to Hawaii...when we were in our early 20's and had just gotten married, that we were completely thrown off by the time change- for us, it will be the middle of the night, so I'm anticipating we might be a little zombie-ish for a couple of days. Hopefully that means we will be up VERY early on our first full day, when we'll head over to Waimea Canyon (after having great big yummy Mac nut pancakes at Ono Family Restaurant)

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/Hawaii%20teaser/onomacnut.jpg

I hope to do some hiking there on one of the many trails- one that is rated family friendly and doesn't require camping equipment or put us on top of a trail with imminent death by falling down a cliff and rappeling. :scared: Afterwards, we may walk around Waimea town for a bit, or check out some of the South Shore beaches...but I have a feeling we may just be stopping somewhere for lunch and one of THESE-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/Hawaii%20teaser/1202251109_dsc_0170_med.jpg

-our first shave-ice, before heading to our destination for the rest of our stay- the North Shore of Kauai. We have a studio rented at Hanalei Bay Resort, and THIS is our lanai view-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/Hawaii%20teaser/4303-1.jpg

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/Hawaii%20teaser/imagesCA3ZYKEB.jpg

We rented unit #4303 and the woman who owns it has been lovely to deal with! Originally, we were planning to rent a 1 bdrm condo from her, unit 4302, but we decided to save some cash because we are going to be so busy all over beautiful Kauai that I don't know how much we would use it. But let me just say, if we were staying longer, I would have rented that space hands down- it is GORGEOUS!! This rental also comes in well under $200 per day.

That night, we may choose to have dinner at Tahiti Nui-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/Hawaii%20teaser/tahiti20nui.jpg

which has local entertainment and has been there forever. It was in the movie The Descendants- it's the bar where George Clooney finds his uncle.

On Sunday, we're going kayaking down the Hanalei River and into Hanalei Bay, with some snorkeling and a little morning beach time-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/Hawaii%20teaser/prod_bluelagoon.jpg

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/Hawaii%20teaser/hanalei-bay.jpg

OMG, can you even stand how incredibly beautiful that is??? After our kayak adventure, we'll spend the day in Hanalei- maybe we'll have a plate lunch here-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/Hawaii%20teaser/imagesCAMKOP39.jpg

at a lunch truck called Hanalei Taro & Juice Co. that overlooks the taro fields. I'm sure someone will try kahlua pork-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/Hawaii%20teaser/imagesCASV38A2.jpg

or maybe one of their specials-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/Hawaii%20teaser/imagesCA54UEO5.jpg

Then we'll explore around Hanalei and hit some north shore beaches-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/Hawaii%20teaser/copy006.jpg

That night, we might go next door to Makana Terrace (at the Ritz Carlton, which we share a beach with) for happy hour and the sunset- I hear they have reduced $ Mai Tais as well as a not too shabby view-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/Hawaii%20teaser/str189re_83004_md.jpg

On our next morning we are taking a cruise out of hanalei on the boat called UFO and checking out the Napali Coast-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/Hawaii%20teaser/01_sail-1.jpg

Afterwards, we will rent bikes from Coconut Coasters and go for a nice ride on the Coconut Coast, stopping occasionally to hang on the beach-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/Hawaii%20teaser/21.jpg

I'm sure we'll make time for another one of THESE-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/Hawaii%20teaser/moreshave.jpg

That day will be busier than most, but I was so excited when I saw there was a bike path that is nice and flat AND runs along the beaches, I just can't pass it up! Still haven't figured out what we're doing for dinner that night, can you imagine? It's lass than 6 months away!!! :rotfl: The next day is our last on Kauai, but we are not leaving until an 8:30 pm flight, which means....we can do LOTS before we head on over to Oahu! Like.... go ziplining and hiking to a waterfall at Princeville Ranch-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/Hawaii%20teaser/zip.jpg

I am sure if you open your windows that day you will be able to hear my terror filled screams, wherever you are....

We will probably hang at a beach for the rest of that day before going back to Lihue, where we'll have our last dinner at Duke's- because I REALLY need to try some Hula Pie!

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/Hawaii%20teaser/hulapie-1.jpg

We won't be arriving on Oahu until 9pm, but that's ok- I think we'll be a little more used to the time zone difference by then.

I'll be back in a minute with Aulani plans!

podsnel

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/Hawaii%20teaser/imagesCA133KA3.jpg

On Wednesday morning, we are going to take it easy and enjoy Aulani. We will probably have breakfast at Makahiki's buffet-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/Hawaii%20teaser/MAKAHIKI-BUFFET-RESTAURANT-Aulani.jpg

before enjoying the resort-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/Hawaii%20teaser/imagesCALVI0BC.jpg

We will also probably go to the ABC store across the street to get a few things, too. I think it will help to have breakfast items and sandwich supplies on hand (as well as some bottles of wine!). We may golf at Ko Olina's course after 3, when I believe they have a great deal for families- 1 free kid for each paying adult.

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/Hawaii%20teaser/golf.jpg

We'll also check out other beaches and Haleiwa and eat some shrimp and more of THIS-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/Hawaii%20teaser/shaveicekauai.jpg

I sure do hope we like this shave ice stuff, because it looks like it's a BIG part of our vacation! Hopefully the line won't be too long at Matsumoto's that day.

Since Thursday will be the only Starlit Hui of our vacation (although I know the schedule keeps changing) we'll be sure to be back in plenty of time for it. Maybe we'll pick up some take-out from Thai Lao or Pho & Co.

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/Hawaii%20teaser/imagesCATJIM2E.jpg

Friday will be Hanauma Bay for snorkeling-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/Hawaii%20teaser/imagesCAJWHUH9.jpg

And if I don't lose my nerve, all of us will take surfing lessons from Hawaiian Fire that afternoon.

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/Hawaii%20teaser/imagesCA8JMQ2E.jpg

To reward myself for all that bravery, I may have to try malasadas-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/Hawaii%20teaser/imagesCAL8U72V.jpg

Friday night might be a good one to order a pizza for the kids and go have a nice dinner alone with Pods- maybe at Ama Ama, if reviews continue to improve-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/Hawaii%20teaser/imagesCALC1IDH.jpg

Saturday is going to be a Spa day. We are also planning to horseback ride at Kuoloa Ranch- not sure which will come first, but maybe a Lomi Lomi massage would be REALLY nice AFTER 2 hours of riding.

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/Hawaii%20teaser/imagesCAUR2ZGS.jpg

I still need to decide what to do for dinner on these nights, but I am sure to use Spleen's awesome advice for that! We also might go next door to the Marriot for Happy Hour Mai Tais-

Sunday, we will visit Pearl Harbor. I thinkl we will get the audio tour for this.

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/Hawaii%20teaser/pearl_harbor_memorial.png

Following PH, we will either go back to Aulani or go to Byodo In Temple-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/Hawaii%20teaser/byodo-in.jpg

Which brings us to Monday, check-out day, and flying home to reality day. Also when we stop hemmorraghing cash day. :rotfl: We will most likely spend it at Aulani, our flight leaves at 7:30pm. That morning, if we haven't been already, we'll make sure we go to KOA Pancake house. We'll have either or first or last Loco Moco of the trip-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/Hawaii%20teaser/LocoMocoHawaii.jpg

We'll also hit whatever we have missed at Aulani- including snorkeling in their fish tank.

Thanks for letting me blabber on and on- it's kind of nice to see it all written out like this, and will also make it easier to show Pods- when I just talk about Hawaii, he can't absorb ANY of it, because he is ensconced in tax season and his brain is all numbers and tax laws lately!

Ooooooo.....two updates! :thumbsup2 Looks chilly but oh so beautiful.

French fries are Chloe's carrot too. :goodvibes

That's funny- I think french fries might work as a carrot for a lot of people!

I'm so glad you're back!!!! I need your help!!! :goodvibes Glad to hear that Evil Jungle Curry is good- I saw it on Yelp, and it looks soooo good!! :worship: And I do like spice- so how spicy are we talkin'? Pho & Co is Vietnamese- I LOVE Vietnamese food, and there really aren't any V restaurants nearby at home, so I will definitely be going there, too. I have to look up your post from that other thread with your restaurant recs- I had saved them all in my favorites, but my DELL computer crashed and I lost everything in January. I really hate Dell. A lot. Even if they were REALLY nice to me and helpful last week. Just can't justify a bad harddrive in Sept 10, they sent me a new laptop in Oct 10, and then that one's harddrive is shot in Jan 12. Kind of hoping for more from a $2K computer, KWIM??????? :headache: Oops! Sorry for the rant!

:rotfl:

We decided against the luau- thanks for the advice. I am not big on super-touristy stuff, anyway. What are the Hawaiian restaurants you speak of???

Back on topic for this thread - glad to hear that Sean liked his fries at Captain's Grille. Too bad about the Lego store though ... that looked cool! We weren't planning on going to DTD during our upcoming WDW trip but now we may have to go :thumbsup2

We NEVER used to go to DTD when we were going as a family every 2 years- just didn't fit into our schedule. But since we have gotten DVC, we go pretty much every time, because we can slow down and enjoy more off-beat attractions at WDW. There are some good restaurants over there- I especially like Raglan Road, Earl of Sandwich and WPE- sometimes I enjoy Fulton's (I always enjoy their bar, but that's a different vacation than what you'll be doing anytime soon, I think! :)). It's fun to walk around, and there is a great variety of shops (I LOVE Basin and TrenD).

I always think Tyler is so lucky to have those eyelashes and how it seems that gorgeous lashes like that are always given to boys instead of girls who would REALLY appreciate them- so I am THRILLED to hear your daughter has them too!! LUCKY girl!!! :cutie:

Your Hawaii trip looks amazing, but I already tired just reading about it! :rotfl2: Hope you all have a blast!

Yes, we do have alot planned- but we also have a ton of down time in there- lots of time on the beach and at the pool, I think! All of our excursions last 3 hours or less- except for the Napali coast cruise- I think that's maybe 5 hours. If we get tired, we'll have all day to recover before the next event! :thumbsup2

I am SOOO excited for this trip, because it involves so MUCH planning! Going to the Caribbean is really nice and very relaxing- but it's a completely different thing somehow. Hawaii just has SOOO much more to see and do! Can't WAIT!!!!

Tyler, Timmy & I arrived at DHS ahead of Pods & Sean because they had stopped at the BW to use the facilities- I texted Pods, and he said to go ahead in, and we would meet up at some point- if not before, then at our dinner at Brown Derby. So the first thing T&T wanted to do was hit Star Tours, since they still hadn't seen the update-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/IMG_3279.jpg

We took turns, Pods & I, riding with T&T-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/IMG_3280.jpg

LOVE that ride, it's my absolute FAVORITE!! Now it was time to go over for our ADR at BD-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/IMG_3282.jpg

We checked in, and waited about 5 or 10 minutes for our ADR-

Brown Derby is a restaurant we have always enjoyed- I feel like it often gets a bad rap, and I can't understand it. My meals there have always been delicious, and this one was to be no exception! I started with The Fabulous Mariness -Absolut Pears Vodka, Patrón Silver, Lime Juice, Muddled Strawberries, and
Cilantro

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/IMG_3288.jpg

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/IMG_3290.jpg

It was lovely- but I think next time I will try one of the MANY flights they offer- this is a GREAT cocktail restaurant!

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/IMG_3291.jpg

Sean was being very sweet- he wanted me to "do" Blue (you know- make the noises Blue makes)-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/IMG_3294.jpg

Sean has these jokes- he likes to say "Steve" and then we say "Daddy" then he says "Mommy" and we say "Blue". :goodvibes I guess he likes the male/female correlation and he finds it VERY amusing.

Pods started with Blue Lump Crab Spring Rolls, Snow Crab Claw, and an Asian Slaw with spicy Miso Aďoli 13.00

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/IMG_3295.jpg

He really enjoyed them. I was in the mood for salad, so I bucked tradition and nixed the BD Salad in favor of Bibb Lettuce Salad drizzled with a Peppercorn-Sweet Onion Dressing, Cherry Tomatoes,
Shaved Radishes, and Parmesan-Seed Frico 10.00

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/IMG_3296.jpg

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/IMG_3299.jpg

Wow- was that delicious! Pods & I both thought it was perfection! Tyler had Portsmouth Lobster Bisque, Tarragon Oil, and a Sweet Corn-Lobster Relish 10.00

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/IMG_3297.jpg

How fortunate for our wallet he was on a lobster diet this vacation. :rolleyes2 He did love this soup, though! French fries were brought out for Sean immediately, and they kept coming. We had such a nice server here! For my entree, I was DYING to try Coriander-dusted Grouper, Cauliflower Risotto, Pea Tendrils, crunchy Sunchokes, and a Yellow Tomato Coulis 33.00

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/IMG_3300.jpg

Actually, looking at it, I also see purple cauliflower- anyway, whatever was on that plate, it was magnificent- I thoroughly enjoyed my entree! I encouraged Pods to have Sterling Silver Pan-seared Pork Tenderloin, Herb and Four-Cheese Spaetzle with Applewood-smoked Bacon,
Shallots, Sweet Peppers, Braised Red Cabbage, and an Apple Cider Jus 33.00

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/IMG_3301.jpg

Tyler had it too-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/IMG_3303.jpg

Both of them thoroughly enjoyed their meals. The menu here was a little overwhelming for Tim, so he ordered from the children's menu and had Grilled Chicken Breast - with red potatoes, and broccoli $9.00

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/IMG_3304.jpg

It was perfect for him. We had our dinner with these famous faces-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/IMG_3305.jpg

Sean, having finished his fries, decided he would help me finish my plate as well-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/IMG_3307.jpg

Sorry, but we once again skipped dessert! Oh well...one day, I'll try that grapefruit cake! Maybe my best shot is at Starring Roles...Naaah...I have to have a cupcake when I go there!! HBD is my favorite in-Park restaurant. That includes ALL of WDW and also Universal.

So there! :)

Up next- Osbourne Lights!!!

Here's (http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?p=43720502#post43720502) the link to one of my latest food recommendation posts. Mild spicy for Thai would be Tabasco level spiciness. I'm sure that the highest levels of spiciness would approach ghost chili level of spiciness so adjust accordingly :goodvibes

As for Vietnamese, my favorite place to eat pho on that side of the island is Cuu Long (http://www.yelp.com/biz/cuu-long-vietnamese-restaurant-aiea) in the Pearl Kai Shopping Center. It'd be relatively close to Pearl Harbor so it might be good for a stop after visiting the Arizona Memorial for lunch. Parking is sort of bad despite it being in a strip mall and there tends to be a line (moves pretty quickly though) at popular meal times though. It really is a hole in the wall but the food is really good.

We decided against the luau- thanks for the advice. I am not big on super-touristy stuff, anyway. What are the Hawaiian restaurants you speak of???

The closest one to Aulani is going to be Highway Inn (http://www.myhighwayinn.com/) in Waipahu. Great food, excellent pipi kaula. But portions are kind of small and prices are high (there's a reason why my friends and I also nicknamed it "Highway Robbery" :lmao: ). Farther away, good places are Young's Fish Market (http://youngsfishmarket.com/) in Kalihi (one of my favorites) and Yama's Fish Market (http://www.yamasfishmarket.com/) in Honolulu (more of a take-out place in town) - used to go here all the time when I used to live nearby. The classic places are Helena's Hawaiian Foods (http://helenashawaiianfood.com/) on North School Street (in town near Pali Highway) and Ono's Hawaiian Foods (http://www.yelp.com/biz/ono-hawaiian-foods-honolulu) in Kaimuki (near Waikiki).

My guess is that Young's will be your best option if you're driving back from town, or visiting some place like the Byodo-In (if you're coming back from the Windward side, taking the Likelike Highway (lee-KAY-lee-KAY) will plop you into Kalihi at the end of it, close to Young's) or if you're coming back on Pali Highway, you'll end up close to Helena's. Most likely will need GPS to find any of these places though.

I agree- many do tend to be overly cautious with pork, so many people think it has to be completely overcooked to be safe- when in reality, trichanosis has not been an issue for many, many years.

We use everything in Hawaii - AT&T, Verizon, Sprint, T-Mobile are all well represented here. There's even a home grown cell phone service called Mobi that's pretty popular too. Luckily, streets don't change very much in Hawaii so you don't need to worry about GPS maps being out of date too much.

Embarrassingly I have yet to go to Molokai or Lanai myself. They're both on the list of places to go but we somehow always end up going to another island or to the mainland on vacation! Many locals have done the tour though so no worries that it's too "touristy". :) And not to burst your bubble, Ellen, but I'm nowhere near native Hawaiian, in case you were thinking I was :rotfl: Those of us that are born / raised in Hawaii call ourselves locals or kama'aina, as opposed to people who actually have native Hawaiian blood (the kanaka maoli).

Let me know if you have any other questions!

Ok.....where were we....ah yes, We had just finished a lovely meal at HBD. Sean was getting antsy, so Pods left with him to go back, while the rest of us went over to see the Osbourne Lights. Hopefully. The official park closing time was 8pm, and we were past that. But I made the boys hustle over, not even slowing down to take a decent pic of-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/IMG_3308.jpg

I was hoping for at least a glimpse of the lights- we had not seen them for several years due to them being turned on later and later in the year- I think on our last visit, we JUST missed them. So imagine our joy and wonder when, even after park closing, they were still in full swing!

Our touring plans for this vacation were to come and enjoy the lights on our last night...so this was just a bonus. So I took some photos, but nothing great because I didn't have my DSLR with me- so this is just with my water camera. Still, they are sooo beautiful!!

We hopped on the looooong line for the boat back...and as I recall, we were some of the last to board.

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/IMG_3336.jpg

We definitely breathed a HUGE sigh of relief after our earlier evening's experience.

It was the floor for the boys-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/IMG_3337.jpg

WDW DOES wear you out, apparently even more so if you went golfing in the morning. Those kids were TIRED!!

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/IMG_3339.jpg

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/IMG_3341.jpg

After the first stop, we were able to actually grab a seat outside-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/IMG_3343.jpg

And walk back to the villa-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/IMG_3344.jpg

The boys threw themselves right onto the bed- I mean, pull out couch- and Sean was already snoring away blissfully back in the bedroom. Seeing things were secure, Pods and I decided to step out for a bit- and do one of my FAVORITE things- we headed over to EPCOT, to have a quiet and romantic glass of champagne (or two) in Paris....

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/30770800000.jpg

I had done this with the DISmoms in May- we had discovered that even though EPCOT closes (tonight that was at 10), you can stay and hang out for a looooong time if you'd like, absorbing and enjoying the deserted park.

Which is especially nice back in France with a glass of champagne. Or two. ;)

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/IMG_3347.jpg

There were two girls sitting at the table next to us, and- I know, shock and surprise- we struck up a conversation.

OK- I struck up a conversation. Pods just sits and observes. Actually, he may have thrown a word or two in that night- I guess he was feeling chatty. :rotfl2:

Really, the girls were alot of fun- they were staying at the GF for a wedding the next day. Their friend who was getting married (they were friends of the groom) had been told- along with the entire wedding party- that they were to be in bed early and sans alcohol so as not to mess up the pics the next day by the Bridezilla.

They, however, were rule breakers and not in the wedding party anyway, so they were living on the edge finishing their gran marnier slushies at 10 pm, waaaay past the admonished bedtime.

They were REALLY funny- especially the one from NJ (of course!). :rotfl2: As the evening went on, the cleaning crew came out. And we were privaleged to meet the MOST charming and wonderful CM....he was ADORABLE. ESPECIALLY because he gave me a flower, obviously, he has AMAZING taste in women! I took his pic with our two new friends-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/IMG_3349.jpg

What a super way to end a day in Disney. :cloud9:

We were back in the villa before 11, and in bed watching the Big Salad on Seinfeld by 11-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/IMG_3353.jpg

Great update. :thumbsup2 The drinks look amazing!

Thanks! How the heck did you have enough letters to make turkois on WWF??? I had 4 "I"s and a space! :rotfl::worship:

We use everything in Hawaii - AT&T, Verizon, Sprint, T-Mobile are all well represented here. There's even a home grown cell phone service called Mobi that's pretty popular too. Luckily, streets don't change very much in Hawaii so you don't need to worry about GPS maps being out of date too much.

Great! In the Caribbean they favor ATT&T and it can be VERY challenging to use your cell phone.

OK- so then I won't feel too bad not heading over to Molokai myself! Great book, though- I just downloaded "Honolulu" on my Kindle- it's by the same author. The books are making Hawaii's history come alive to me. :thumbsup2

And thanks, once again, for all your help!

Yes, I DO!! :lovestruc I love that I forget it's there- I'm a fan of the wristlets, too- but they don't fit my :lovestruclittle camera- well, one does, but it's Coach, and for fancier stuff than park touring. :snooty:
Yes, that is funny that's what you saw in all the pics! You must be a huge fan of those bags! :goodvibes

Our fourth day at WDW began with breakfast at Kouzzina. And, I have to warn you, I don't have alot of pics- for alot of this day, actually. Because my Dell hard drive crashed. On my computer that was a little over a year old. Which I should have expected, because they had already replaced my laptop once, when the same thing happened at 3 months. Shame on me for not backing up more of the photos. :guilty: But....all of my water camera pics were already uploaded to photobucket, so it's just pics from this day that are missing (unless I had already put them on FB, etc). ANYWAY.....

I really wanted to go here again because we had had an UNBELIEVABLE breakfast on our DISmoms trip, and I wanted Pods to try it. We checked in just before our 9:20 ADR, and were seated probably at 9:30. Sean was not all that happy about being here this morning, but he dealt with it once he knew there was French Toast to be had. :) I'm going to use some food porn from that other breakfast here....

I had a glass of white sangria- it is very light on alcohol, and very yummy!

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/DISmoms%203%202011/IMG_3496.jpg

I also had to order what I had eaten before, which was Stacked Kouzzina Breakfast - Two Poached Eggs, Kalamata Olive toast, Artichoke Spread and Sweet potato Hash with choice of Bacon or Chicken Sausage - $11.99

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/DISmoms%203%202011/IMG_3498.jpg

It is just SUCH a yummy, yummy brekkie! I was also having the pressed pot-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/DISmoms%203%202011/IMG_3495.jpg

Although, sadly, Joan was not sitting across from me as I drank it. I was able to find some pics of food online, so here's whatelse we had-

Sean had a double order of kids french toast, which he devoured-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/Disney%2011%2011%20saved%20pics/DSC04687-500x375.jpg

Tyler was more adventurous, and chose French Toast Baklava - Grilled Fig and Anise country bread with honey, walnuts and cinnamon with your choice of Bacon or Chicken Sausage $11.99

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/Disney%2011%2011%20saved%20pics/8876_c_img.jpg

He loved it- but I think he prefers Tonga Toast just a little bit, since that is hands down his favorite breakfast of all time.

I told Pods to order Breakfast Skillet - served with eggs, Pequillo peppers, Nueske's bacon, onions, and Greek cheese on Sweet potato hash and topped with arugula $13.99 (I'm just SO bossy, LOL! Really, it's that he can never make up his mind and I hit it 99% of the time when it comes to getting him fed, so...yea, that. :rotfl2:)

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/Disney%2011%2011%20saved%20pics/2012-02-23Kouzzina-13.jpg

My 99% success rate remains! He really liked this! Timmy ordered a generic kids breakast I think, so no pics of that. ANYWAY....since it was noted on the ADR that it was my birthday at some point this year, lucky me, I got a cupcake and an OPAH song!

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/Disney%2011%2011%20saved%20pics/319162_2378647142822_1149955473_32237008_106703811 8_n.jpg

I'm definitely looking forward to going back here with the DISmoms in just over 6 weeks from today! We have a breakfast ADR set for the morning we go on the Dream. :lovestruc

We left Kouzzina and walked over to the BW bus stop. And for who knows what reason, Sean became extremely agitated. My only guess would be that he was expecting to go to the BC bus stop. :confused3 Pods once again volunteered to take him back to BCV and meet us once he calmed down.

It made all of us feel pretty bad, and stressed, I have to say. FWIW- I can tell you that NOW he is doing GREAT! :cloud9: But then? When his meds weren't working to help him cope? Not so good.

Well, T&T & I headed for the rides we knew Sean doesn't like, to get them out of the way. First, we went on the Safari ride, since we had not done that in a couple of years and saw this hippo-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/Disney%2011%2011%20saved%20pics/393728_2378649542882_1149955473_32237011_992428536 _n.jpg

The safari CM explained it was unusual to see hippos out of the water, so, lucky us! Then we walked over to EE, and on the way detoured for-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/Disney%2011%2011%20saved%20pics/307770_2378651462930_1149955473_32237013_150682911 4_n.jpg

I think we rode EE twice-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/Disney%2011%2011%20saved%20pics/375773_2378654102996_1149955473_32237015_163740239 3_n.jpg

Before we got a text from Pods saying they were in the park! So we headed over to Dinoland and all took a spin on-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/Disney%2011%2011%20saved%20pics/392671_2378656543057_1149955473_32237016_27349891_ n.jpg

I think Pods & T&T rode Primeval Whirl, and then the boys and I rode Dinosaur. After which we went in search of french fries for Sean, who was still not happy- I think we got some at Flame Tree BBQ. We also walked by this band at some point-

click to play-

which was either before or after Pods & T & T got soaked on Kali...after which we went in search of Kusafiri Bakery, so that Tyler could have a cupcake. Can I just say, he was in HEAVEN over this one!

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/Disney%2011%2011%20water/Disney%2011%2011%20saved%20pics/5098006038_893548f509.jpg

Tim had a HUGE chocolate chip cookie.

Of course they thanked me profusely for knowing this even existed. And i said, Thank the DISboards, because that's why we're here. :goodvibes

We all decided enough was enough, and it would be a good idea to go back to BCV and take a break. Not our best day in AK ever, but certainly we made sure to have some fun!

Up next- tennis anyone?

podsnel
03-27-2012, 02:32 PM
We were enjoying a little down time in our villa- Sean was in desperate need of a break, and we had some time before our ADR at The Wave. Timmy decided he didn't need any down time- and wanted to go play tennis. Which cracks me up- because the only time Timmy EVER plays tennis is on vacation. EVER. He just likes to experience EVERYTHING (when he is away) that is being offered. He is SOOOO my kid- :rotfl: Actually, of all 3 boys, he is the one who (although he looks just like Pods) IS most like me- both in good and bad ways. Not that there's really ANY bad to speak of. Anywho, we decided Pods would take him, while I hung out with Sean, and off they went.

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/IMG_3355.jpg

Once they were back, we got ready for dinner, then headed to the bus stop (an hour before our ADR) to begin our journey to The Contemporary.

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/IMG_3358.jpg

I KNEW we should have hoofed it through EPCOT and taken the monorail, but somehow we chose the bus instead. BIG mistake. Buses were not very timely to MK from BCV that night, and we ended up about 20 minutes late for our ADR. And the Wave was PACKED! There were TONS of people waiting to be seated when we arrived.

Uh-Oh......

When the CM handed me my pager, she said that they were running about 30- 45 minutes behind. :scared1:

Uh-OH....

Sean was ok for a while......I walked him around the lobby, went up and down the escalator, went over by the coffee....

Then, Pods started to get antsy. Largely due to the fact that he was worried Sean was going to start freaking out.

How perceptive of him.

Pods told me to go to the bar and order some fries or something- so, that's what I did, kind of-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/IMG_3359.jpg

I did go to the bar, and I did order the closest thing they had to french fries, which were potato wedges.

While I was waiting there for that, Pods was walking Sean around. Except...that was when Sean started freaking out. It was ENOUGH. He wanted fries, and he wanted OUT!

By the time the wedges were delivered-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/IMG_3361.jpg

Sean was beyond reason- and he was soooooo done. We were all going to leave, and Pods just said I'll go back, I'll see you later. And ran out of there in search of the BC bus at MK, I guess.

Soon after that....the pager flashed.

T&T& I went in, and I can honestly say- at this point we were TAPPED OUT. We all felt horrible about Sean, and it was quite sometime before Pods was able to calm him down, get him back to BCV, and get fries etc from somewhere for their dinner and then let us know all of that. Pods was fine with Sean- but the rest of us had what I guess you would call "survivors Guilt". But, here's the thing- we HAD to make the best of it. So...we did.

Anyway....we all placed our orders, and Tyler started with a Mega-Berry Smoothie - Raspberry Purée and Nonfat Yogurt blended with Odwalla Berries GoMega, an excellent source of Omega-3 $4.69

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/IMG_3362.jpg

We all shared The Wave Appetizer for Two (or three, for us!) - sauteed sea scallops with rock shrimp and lump crab cakes $15.99

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/IMG_3363.jpg

Here are the crabcakes a little closer-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/IMG_3364.jpg

Pods made sure to let us know Sean was happy as a clam back in the villa, and he was equally happy to put up his feet and have a beer in the room. :thumbsup2 That made things MUCH MUCH better for ALL of us! :goodvibes It certainly made that appetizer a WHOLE lot more appealing, that's for sure!
Our dinners came out- Tyler had ordered Whole Grain Penne Pasta - with Florida White Shrimp, Cedar Key Clams, Prince Edward Island Mussels, and Roasted Fennel-Tomato Broth $25.99 (although this looks more like a sauce than a broth to me...)

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/IMG_3365.jpg

He said it was very, very good. I had Chili-Soy Marinated Flat Iron Steak - Thai-Chili-Ginger Long Beans and Udon Noodles $21.99

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/IMG_3366.jpg

It was very tasty, and I especially enjoyed the long beans. Tim had some kind of steak, I think-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/IMG_3367.jpg

I don't see it on the current menu, and I am at a loss as to what it exactly was! But he seemed pretty happy about it-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/IMG_3368.jpg

To be continued- we actually ate DESSERT!!! :scared1:

podsnel
03-27-2012, 06:20 PM
We ordered dessert, and had something....no longer on the menu! Sorry about that! It was good, though- especially because it allowed us to share three yummy things! :goodvibes

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/IMG_3370.jpg

We did all enjoy The Wave- I would not say it was my favorite meal of all time, but I would say it was a nice change from the usual and I would not hesitate to go back again.

As we were waiting for the check, Tyler said, "Alright. I'm tired. I'm goin back."

HUH??? No MK??? In the dark?? Nope- he was EXHAUSTED. And at 14, I VERY nervously let him go on his own- after I drilled him and made him tell me EXACTLY how he would go- he was off. Kinda scary for Mom, but he was fine- he has certainly been to WDW enough to know his way around. Nice, that we have been so often this is the result.

I do LOVE my DVC! :lovestruc

Timmy and I, however, were ready for some fun!

So....I'm goping to update and then go back for replies, ok?

Tim and I got a BURST of energy when we entered the Magic Kingdom (see? It really IS magical!). My boys always want to ride Space Mountain first, so we headed there-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/IMG_3379.jpg

We did not have much of a wait, which I often find to be the case on these nightime excursions-

Looks like you were able to have a nice day despite the meltdown, and so nice of him to update you that all was well, so that you could relax and enjoy the rest of your meal!

Yea- that Pods- he's alllll right! :lovestruc :)

I've been busy lately, but wanted to let you know that I'm so happy to read your trip report! I'm having awful withdrawal and your TRs always have the enough pics, DVC, food, and magic to tide me over for awhile :goodvibes

I can't WAIT for your Aulani report!

Aww....you're so sweet- welcome back! I am also having withdrawals right now. Good thing I'll be back there in just 3 weeks and a day!

And I personally CAN wait for the TR from Aulani- looking forward to MAKING it, just not looking forward to writing it. :upsidedow

Just found your trip report. You are one of the best TR authors. The first TR I ever read was one of your HHI trips. Glad to read that Sean came along and had such a good time. Looking forward to reading the rest.

Wow- that's a HUGE compliment- thanks!:woohoo: It's really nice to hear, tho- because this trip was different from most we take. It was slightly draining because we were so worried about Sean the whole time. KWIM?

Wow- HHI- that seems so long ago- I really miss it- I seriously need to figure out how to get in a mini-trip there, maybe with Pods in the fall for golf (not this year tho-). A trip to Hawaii kind of puts other trips on hold, at least for us.

Anyway, thank-you for the kind words- you truly made my day!

Hey! You'll be there right about the same time that we'll be back too!

Cool! We go 3 weeks from today- staying at BCV for just 2 nights before the Dream. Are you planning on goingn to the Ditch for Cinco de Mayo? I have a feeling we might be there once or twice... :rotfl:

Yea- Disney is magnificent for holidays- especially December holidays! :goodvibes Next year Pods & I are going for my bday (which is the very end of November) JUST because I want to see the decorations. Kind of flip-flopping, though, between WDW & DL....it's REALLY bothering me that I have not been out to DL yet!! WHat do you think?

On our last full day, we ALL slept in. It was wonderful!
Today we had an 11:30 ADR at 50's Prime Time Cafe, so when we finally got our act together, that's where we headed off to- hopefully, we would have better luck this morning taking the boat over!

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/IMG_3424.jpg

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/IMG_3425.jpg

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/IMG_3426.jpg

The pics are getting me excited for my upcoming trip in less than 2 weeks! :woohoo:

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/IMG_3427.jpg

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/IMG_3428.jpg

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/IMG_3431.jpg

Well, it was looking good- only 10 people were waiting for the boat, so I think we'd get to ride today- woohoo!! Timmy was hanging in here-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/IMG_3433.jpg

Not that long ago, when the boys were little, and we were waiting on the dock, they would play cops and robbers in here- only place they ever played that game, too. Time goes too fast with kids sometimes.

We arrived to a show when we entered DHS-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/IMG_3436.jpg

Tyler, my metalhead, was less than thrilled about it. He is just sooooo cool, that kid! ANYWAY....the boys and I rode StarWars before heading over to the restaurant-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/IMG_3437.jpg

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/IMG_3438.jpg

I was hoping, hoping, hoping that we would get a great server- the last time ours was ok, but I wanted someone who would REALLY get in my kids' faces about...well, pretty much anything!! :rotfl:

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/IMG_3439.jpg

As usual, we were seated at a table with no tv- not a big deal, we could see the tvs at other nearby tables perfectly well, it's just funny that the last time we had a tv table was when Pods & I came here on MGM opening day- and that was a loooooomg time ago! We were seated with a minimum wait, though, which I'm guessing had to do with us having the 11:30 ADR. Usually we wait 45 minutes for our tv-less table.

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/IMG_3440.jpg

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/IMG_3441.jpg

It must be our size of 5.

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/IMG_3443.jpg

Well, we may not have scored a tv dinner (lunch), but we scored BIG on a CM, Theresa, who would mess with us. LOVED HER!!!!! She had some choice words for too-cool-Tyler-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/IMG_3444.jpg

She started right in on Timmy- called him Abercrombie (still now when he wears that shirt, I giggle!).

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/IMG_3445.jpg

She even started in on Pods, but he said something nice, and she became his fan for life-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/IMG_3446.jpg

Of course, I, as the Mom, was treated like a queen. And she was so sweet to Sean-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/IMG_3447.jpg

See, I think what happens with alot of the servers, is that they see we have a special needs situation, so they go overboard with kindness- which is absolutely WONDERFUL- except when you are looking to be abused HERE. :) But THIS CM was the perfect combo of abuse and kindness! SCORE!

Cont'd next post-

We were skipping apps today and went straight for the main meal. I had Caesar Salad - Romaine lettuce tossed with caesar dressing, grated parmesan, and garlic croutons. With Salmon $15.49

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/IMG_3448.jpg

I definitely enjoyed it. Both Pods & Tyler ordered A Sampling of Mom's Favorite Recipes - Crispy-fried Chicken, Fork Tender Pot Roast, and Traditional Meatloaf with all the fixings $19.99

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/IMG_3449.jpg

Both of them said my meatloaf is better (DUH!) :snooty: but the rest they enjoyed. Timmy was going for Aunt Liz's Golden Fried Chicken - served with mashed potatoes, chicken gravy and southern greens (although we subbed green beans) $16.99

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/IMG_3451.jpg

Which, of course, he loved- what's not to love about a great big plate of fried chicken?! Sean had the kid's Macaroni & cheese- a couple of bowls full-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/IMG_3453.jpg

Tyler also ordered a PB&J shake.

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/IMG_3454.jpg

SOMEBODY needed help eating their green beans-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/IMG_3455.jpg

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/IMG_3456.jpg

Someone else needed help finishinng their yummy shake (although he really didn't WANT any help, but Pods insisted)

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/IMG_3457.jpg

Tyler also needed help finishing veggies- notice the look of terror on Sean's face- I think he was thinkin, "Oh NO! She'd better not be coming for me next!" :rotfl:

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/IMG_3458.jpg

Impressive that he ate them- he LOVES veggies, but NOT any kind of greens. Way to go Theresa!!

Still not our table-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/IMG_3459.jpg

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/IMG_3461.jpg

Theresa asked what we would like for dessert, and reflexively we said, "Just the check please" which Timmy was NOT at ALL in favor of. It turns out one of his fave WDW desserts is here- S'mores $4.79

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/IMG_3463.jpg

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/IMG_3465.jpg

He was a happy camper! We said goodbye to Theresa- when we return this November, I hope we are fortunate enough to have lunch with her again. :goodvibes

Up next- a really fun day at DHS!!

So fun! The server really does make all the difference, especially at 50's. So happy you got a good one! I don't have an ADR there for the upcoming trip but am hoping to "sneak" into the bar for the onion rings and a beverage. YUM!

Your pictures are making me excited for my trip too! So anxious to get back "home!" :yay:

I just found this report. It will take me awhile to catch up, so I'll comment as I go.

I didn't realize you have an Autistic son. My nephew is as well and I laughed when you used DR. Seuss to lure him to the van. My nephew is 15 and he's all about the muppets.....and straws in his hand. He can't go anywhere without the straws. He has to put them away at school and as soon as he gets home he holds them like it's his first smoke of the day! :rotfl2:

I LOVE the No Way Jose too. I agree, there is nothing better on earth. I introduced it to Claire about a month ago and she agrees, it's pure heaven!

Well, I am back from my latest adventure (TR soon to be started) with the DISmoms, and OF COURSE, we had a blast! But let me get on with the rest of this one for now...

Bellies full, we made a beeline over to TSM. Which...Sean would not ride. But he has never gone on that ride- which is so sad to me, because the Toy Story characters are by FAR his favorite. Oh well. (On a brighter note, this new med that has been added, buspar, seems to be helping. So maybe in November....I have my fingers crossed!). So while Pods & T&T rode that, Sean and I strolled....

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/IMG_3469.jpg

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/IMG_3470.jpg

Ok- this just posted on me, no idea why, but back to more in an edit....

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/IMG_3471.jpg

Looks like they had some cute drinks for the upcoming holidays...

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/IMG_3472.jpg

Sean was happy, so life was GOOD!

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/IMG_3473.jpg

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/IMG_3474.jpg

He was even willing to visit OMD, although very briefly. What can I say...but baby steps are treasured even at 17....

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/IMG_3475.jpg

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/IMG_3476.jpg

I got a text that the boys were out, and we were all going to meet near Animation. It seems Pods was the big LOSER in their game, and was giving push-ups to his kids as a prize-

Drop and give me TWENTY!!
http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/IMG_3478.jpg

We were going in to draw, but had a bit of a wait, so Sean tried some of the interactives-

Looks like he is Tarzan-
http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/IMG_3481.jpg

He really enjoyed this-
http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/IMG_3482.jpg

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/IMG_3484.jpg

It was then time for drawing class, so Pods & Sean went back to BCV for a swim while the boys and I headed in to draw....Daisy Duck!

We had two more things to accomplish over at DHS before we called it a day. We needed to ride RnRC, that was first- we rode once on the FP line, and then twice more Single rider. Single rider (on this day) was much faster than FP.

While we waited for our first ride, I chatted with a retired Army man who was waiting by himself. You can see him in the first pic seated next to me, taking his glasses off-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/IMG_3496.jpg

He had no idea about the single rider line, and so we filled him in- it was GREAT for him, ESPECIALLY because he was alone. Wow, was he ever grateful for THAT little tip!

Two more rides for all of us-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/IMG_3497.jpg

Love this one-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/IMG_3498.jpg

The next thing we did was not-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/IMG_3499.jpg

Timmy isn't crazy about it, and I can do it, but not running to. Instead, I was running to THIS-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/IMG_3501.jpg

OK, actually, I was running to a PB cupcake, which is my all-time fave, but...they were out! This was the red velvet- very good, but I still wish they would have had that PB one. I like that the PB one is kind of filled, while this is just straight cake with frosting and candy on top-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/IMG_3504.jpg

Tyler DID get his fave-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/IMG_3500.jpg

A marble CC.

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/IMG_3506.jpg

And Timmy chose some humungo cookies for his treat-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/IMG_3502.jpg

Then it was back to the boat, with a brief stop for a pic-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/IMG_3507.jpg

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/IMG_3510.jpg

At BCV, I noticed the Mermaid on the bow of the ship. Isn't she pretty? I wonder what she's trying to say....

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/IMG_3512.jpg

Probably head back to your villa, your family is freakin exhausted!

Up next- my quickie trip to F&W-

So- straws, huh? I think autistic people need one constant they can rely on to get through the day. So, straws it is! It probably IS like his first smoke of the day, LOL! :rotfl: Good thing it's much healthier!

We are going to hit B&C in November with DH's family- I'm hoping there will be enough people splitting the kitchen sink that I can share a No Way Jose with someone- I really missed having it this last trip, even if all the ingredients were in there somewhere- I sure couldn't find them!

Well....since it seems some people just don't have the same stamina as some other people in Disney, my family stayed in the villa watching a game while I went off by myself to peruse F&W (which we had not partaked in at all on this trip). So...off I went-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/IMG_3513.jpg

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/IMG_3514.jpg

And my first stop was something I could really have anytime, but I wanted one THIS time, all the same! A citron Slushie-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/IMG_3515.jpg

Then it was time to hit some food! I tried to limit myself to some Must Dos that I read read about on here as being well received. First was New Zealand- Seared scallop with Kumara-Red Curry Puree and apple radish salad-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/IMG_3516.jpg

Next was Singapore- Shrimpcake on Sugarcane Skewer with Singapore Noodles-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/IMG_3517.jpg

I do remember enjoying both of those. Next, I stopped at Hops & Barley in the USA- for Pumpkin Mousse with Ocean Spray Craisins and Orange Sauce-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/IMG_3519.jpg

THAT was AMAZING!!!! :cheer2: I enjoyed it so much, in fact, I prepared it myself for dessert at a friend's house on Thanksgiving. It is TDF, if you enjoy pumpkin at ALL. In case you are interested, here is a link to the recipe- http://www.oceanspray.com/Recipes/Corporate/Desserts---Snacks/Pumpkin-Mousse-Trifle-with-Cranberries-and-Apricot.aspx. Come to think of it, I made this again another time. YUMMMMMM!!

My next stop was in Poland for Kielbasa and Potato Pierogi with Carmelized Onions and sour cream-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/IMG_3520.jpg

I am half Hungarian, so Kielbasa is near and dear to me- this was all delicious!

Next was China for Black Pepper Shrimp with Sichuan Noodles-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/IMG_3521.jpg

Wow, am I a pig, or what?? :rotfl: At this point, I was you-know-where on my little solo trip around the world, so I went to say hi to my favorite Mexican friend, Bulmaro-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/IMG_3522.jpg

So, I walk into the Ditch and yell "Hey! Hola Bulmaro!" to which he replies-

"Hey! Where have you been?!"

Ummm...I live in Nj? And it's a little hard for me to get here for happy hour on Fridays (even though I do my BEST, it just a little too much of a hike, even for the world's best Rita)?

:rotfl2::rotfl2:

Hellloooooooo, Rita!

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/IMG_3523.jpg

I told him I'd be back in May with the Moms (although it turned out we barely saw him that day- it was Cinco de Mayo- no standing at the bar, Amigo!), and went out-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/IMG_3525.jpg

To stuff 2 more things into my face- and I was already full- but, I REALLY wanted to try them, so I stuffed them in-

In Mexico, a Rib Eye taco-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/IMG_3526.jpg

And in Hawaii, I took a pic of the tuna poke- so this was Tuna Poke with seaweed salad and lotus chip-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/IMG_3530.jpg

And then this was the straw that broke the camel's back- or pig's belly (me being said pig)- also in Hawaii, Kalua Pork Slider with Sweet and Sour Dole pineapple chutney and spicy mayonnaise-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/IMG_3531.jpg

Ireally wanted to try it, because in planning Hawaii, I kept on seeing Kalua Pork EVERYWHERE...but, UGH. That one I can STILL taste- it was very good, it was just the slider too far, ya know?

I waddled over to Canada, and spent a little time checking out Off Kilter-

http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg113/podsnel/IMG_3534.jpg

Before rejoining my family at Rose & Crown for WHAT???? :scared1: DINNER???!!!! :scared:
