I am planning a trip for late October. My question is this.

I am wanting to stay on Disney property. This will be the first time for me!! Is it too early to book my room yet? What are the payment policies? Do I have to pay for my room in advance? Sorry for all the questions. Just figured you all could help me out!!

No, it's not too early to book, but be sure you get a reasonable cancellation policy should you come across a code that will give you a much better rate.

You may apply for Fall Special's in October.

Good Luck!

We got the $99 newspaper code from Missouri for CSR in June (but we would need 2 rooms there!), and the Boardwalk Inn for $209 for the same dates. Really have been trying to get the Beach Club, but June must be pretty full, because they haven't come up with a discount for me there!
We will be at the AKL with the AP rate, then moving to wither CSR or BWI for the remainder of our trip.

Thanks, Mary, for all your hard work. :)

We got ASMu for the $49 rate in Oct. Mary is the best! By the way, anyone wondering about what the qualifications are for the different codes are... I didn't even mention a code, I didn't have too. I only asked if they could find me the best rate they had because I had heard that some people were getting rates of $49. The lady from CRO said, well lets see what we've got here, it'll take a minute and came back with the rate...no code asked for.:bounce:

I called tonight for the $49 AS rate and I was told that it was unavailable and that I should call back. I had trouble getting her to give me an idea of when or how often I should call. She finally said to try in about 2 weeks. Anybody have the same experience? any suggestions? Is this unusual?

Dizzy-Disney4
05-22-2001, 04:28 AM
Doesn't sound like she was very helpful. From what I've been told here on the boards, if you call CRO and get someone who isn't willing to help, call back until you do. Who's gonna know but you that you've called three times in one afternoon? It is totally worth it. I was a big chicken about it, but I got some encouragement from some people here and called...even though its the third or fourth reservation I've made...to see if I could get that lower rate. Good Luck and keep trying.

Thanks, Kathy! I'm wondering if the fact that I want the ASMo rather than the other 2 (where most people seem to be successful with the discount) could be the problem. I promised my niece that she could stay in the Dalmations building and my daughter and I haven't tried that resort yet so...... I'll be brave and keep trying. I guess was afraid that there'd be a record of every time I nagged them and I'd get Mickey demerits or something! :D

Ann, We wanted Movies too and had reservations for it for the $99 rate. CRO said that Movies was sold out of that particular rate but I could keep calling back with the reservation that I have and try to see if Movies has opened up any rooms with that rate. Our DS is a little disappointed, but I think once he's in Disney he won't really care where we stay. Dh on the other hand is extremely happy about saving so much money.:earsgirl: :earsboy: Good luck.

I've been on Mary's site and it is wonderful. We are going in Jan. 2002, does anyone know how far in advance these codes come out for booking? We have six people and usually get two rooms and are considering staying offsite unless we can get a discount. Any help from Disney board experts would be a great help! Thanks!!:jester: :pinkbounc :bounce:

Deputy Disney, I wish I knew! I'm sure Disney will wait as late as possible to make a decision about further discounts. Right now my advice to anyone traveling October 4-December 31 is to use Disney Club or AAA to get the best available discount, and then cross your fingers and hope for some additional codes or discounts eventually.

Code discounts are completely unpredictable. Only Disney knows when (or if) the next ones will come out. It's been a while since the last set, which might mean anything. The new MKC discounts for the next year always used to come out in late September or October, so that might be a good guess as to when DC discounts will appear for 2002. As for the next round of AP discounts, who knows? Maybe around the time the next Mickey Monitor is released (August), but that's a guess.

I need help planning our trip to WDW Dec. 9-16. This is our first trip and we are very excited !!

We plan to stay in a Mod or Deluxe resort and want to get the best rate possible. If I make res. now and discounts are announced later, can I change my res. and get the discount or do I need to make a new res? If so, is this hard to do? I guess I just don't know how the Disney CRO works.

Should I just wait a few months to see what comes out for Dec. or do I run the risk of the resorts filling up?

Any help is GREATLY appreciated !!

Book your room now thru CRO. Make sure you can pay the deposit, one room nite + tax in ten days and the balance on arrival. Watch this board and mousesavers for the discount. Planning is half the fun getting discounts is thrilling!!!!

The change over from your desposited room to a discount is just call back CRO and change the ressie to the discounted price!!!!! Easy as fallin' off my horse!!!

It'w worth the wait ...
Mary saved me over $1200 on my trip. I had booked 3 rooms at Port Orleans for 6 nights in late August. The normal rate is $149/night. So, I made my reservation, and started to write the check out.

Then, I saw Mary's site on this forum (THANKS GUYS!). I sheepishly called the reservation desk, and gave them one of the codes, and viola, my daily rate dropped from $149 to $89/night. When you figure out the taxes and all, the savings was $1,199.80. Not too shabby for a 10 minute phone call!!

I hope she keeps running this site for years and years. She's done a fine job of helping people out, and I hope her site makes her a ton of money, cause she saved me a ton of it.

Yaaaaaaaah! I love when people save money.

I just called this afternoon and was quoted prices for several resorts at the rates posted on Mousesavers just by asking if there were any "really good" deals I might qualify for.

Surprisingly enough, he "checked the computer" & said instead of the $279/night he had just quoted for BC, I could have it for $169 - a savings of $880 for eight nights (or approx. $1350 Canadian Dollars). No code required.

If I hadn't been successful getting that rate with that call I was going to call back and try the code from Mousesavers. So thanks again to this board. Don't know how I'd do any planning without it.

Just got back from WDW on 6/24. Had no plans to return til January of 2002 then the airfare dropped! Next thing ya know hubby & I have plane tickets for 9/13 to 16. Called my parents who live about 2 hours from Orlando and arranged to have them drive up to meet us for the weekend. Since this was a spur of the moment trip we were just looking for a cheap hotel or 2 bedroom suite off property. We made ressies for 2 rooms @ Amerisuites for 59.00 a night and were thrilled. Then I discovered mousesavers.com. Now have 2 rooms at ASMu for 49.00 a night. My parents absolutely could not believe it. They checked out the site and discovered they could receive a discount on Cirque De Soleil since they have AP's. So they decided to treat DH & I to and got tickets for the 4 of us to go the day we arrive. Thanks Mary!!!!!!

Hi batchler!

The discounts in December do not have a "code" associated with them. These discounts are for Annual Pass Holders. You don't have to own the pass to make the reservation, but if you book the room, you (should) have to present the Annual Pass at check-in to receive the discounted rate.

Thanks to Mary, we saved money on La Nouba tickets for our trip in September! We'd been thinking about going, but the $70+ per person pricetag made us think twice. Especially since DH never expressed an interest in going.

HOWEVER, when I just casually mentioned that as AP holders, we could get a $20 discount on each ticket- he became enthused REALLY quickly. We made our ticket arrangements a couple of days ago, and all due to Mary posting the AP perks where we could find them.

THANKS SO MUCH MARY!!!! And thanks to the DIS for reposting the Mousesavers link after upgrading the software for the forums!!

I kept watching Mary's site, and got the cost down to $249/night, then $225/night, then $199/night, and finally I am paying $169/night. DH says that if I keep this up, they're going to be paying US to stay there!!!! I think at this point, $169/night for a deluxe with a view is about as good as it gets! I will keep looking though, just in case;)

I have found so much useful info on Mary's
site. I ordered an Entertainment Book for
Orlando and saved $10.00 in June. I got my
res. at The Swan for half price of $155.00 a
day with the Ent. card. The book has so many
good coupons for the local Orlando restaurants
and these will help save on expenses. I am so
glad that I found Mary's site. Thanks Mary, I
appreciate the hard work that you do to help
us WDW fans.

I was all set for offsite, price was just to high to stay on. Then bam...Mary comes up on a search. $49.00 ASMu here we come. I asked for specifics on the room, and building. The first CRO said no, I called back and they did it for me. The requests at least.

Thanks Mary!:D :D :D

Thanks to Pete Weber for this site. Thanks to Mary Waring for the Code info at
http://www.mousesavers.com/index.html.

And a special thanks to all the DISsers out there who shared their knowledge and tips.

I saved $487 on my savannah view room at AKL and $40 dollars on my car in May.

My next trip in Sept. is at ASMo saving $282.24 on room and $64 on car.

The savings in May & Sept. will almost pay for Sept. trip with AP and SouthWest Airlines......give or take $0.24.

I'm goin' to Disney World! :earseek:

So who else has gotten a discount and/or saved money with mousesavers!!!!!!!

Add me to the list!!!

If I hadn't checked Mary's site I wouldn't have know about the AP rate for concierge at the AKL in October. DS (5) wanted bunk beds and DS (2) loves animals. If we hadn't gotten the rate of $229 a night we'd be in two rooms at FQ at $89ea a night. MIL is going with, but we can handle three nights all in one room for concierge and the AKL!

Thanks Mary!!!

I used a state code (Texas) for Port Orleans Riverside for end of Sept 01. 5 Nights for $99. Its standard view but I'm excited!!!

I also used all the links on her airfare page to keep track of air fare prices out of DFW. I finally got 2 roundtrip tickets for $100.76!!!

I checked on the Offical Disney page and the trip (room, air and tickets) would cost me 2070.92 (rack rate) but doing it myself with the help of Mary and DIS I'm paying only $1300! Thats almost 1/3 off ~ $700!!! Thats alot of money to me!!!!!!

Thanks a million!!
Shari

PS... I"m already thinking that with these great prices I might go again next year instead of waiting 5 years!!!!!

Shari2shop,
This is one of the greatest aspects of this community. We all share the common interest in WDW and help each other maximize our vacations by learning about exciting things to experience that most people never hear about and help each other get the most "bang for our buck". Welcome to the Dis!

LisaRex

Shari2Shop, if you're serious about going next year, I'd strongly encourage you to think about buying the Annual Pass. Then you can plan your trip for 2 weeks earlier, right before the pass expires, and save a bundle on park admission. Plus you can usually get great rates on Disney hotels using these rates, as Mary points out on her site.

Food for thought!

Unfortunately, I had to give up our discounted room at POFQ. We had to change our dates. But I think it might change again, but this time, the codes are no longer available. I am just glad that a lot of you have taken advantage of the codes that Mary has provided for us!! Codes or no codes, I'm still happy that we are still going to Disney!! No matter on-sight or off-sight, as long as I get to see Mickey and the Castle, we're happy!! :D :bounce:

Deputy Disney. How did you get a $55 dollar rate for All Star Movies in September. I called and asked if they had an Annual Passholder rate and they said no, they had it for Sports and Music but not Movies. I am staying at Movies. Did you ask for AP rate or was it something else?

First I booked the ASM on Sept 7&8 for $49.00. Then I fell in love with the AKL after reading about it on these boards. So, I booked the same code I got for the ASM at the AKL it gave me a savannah room for $198. Then a few weeks later she posted a AP rate so I tried again I was able to rebook the AKL under the AP rate for $169.00. I can't wait ...less than a month to go.

I gave the codes to a friend and she was able to book the ASM for $59 in Oct. They were all out of the $49 rate.

Anyhow I love Mousesavers!!!!!!!:bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

Mousesavers gave me the info some months ago regarding National Rental Car Emerald Aisle program and how to obtain it for free. Then the detailed instructions on how to use this feature as well as the Disney Club discount code etc. saved me at least $200.00.

I love Mary's site, she does an amazing job. I know many of us probably owe her a debt of gratitude, if not a 10 percent finders fee! Even though our upcoming trip is reserved and paid for I check out her site weekly.

Do not give up.............If you have a room at the Movies convert it to an AP rate by calling CRO 1800828-0228!

Presently ASMovies is full, but keep calling CRO, someone may cancel and you might get in. I call at least three times a day when I'm on a mission. There are "thousands" of codes according to some very nice CM's I've spoken with.... all will try to help. Some find the codes better than others.

Hit it with the "Pixie Dust," Tink. We need an ASMovie w/ discount room in Sept. for Terry, please!

Thanks Deputy Disney. I do have a room reserved at All Star Movies for 8 nights at the end of September, but not at the AP rate. I called to try and convert it to the AP rate which would save me $22 dollars a night but they did not have any more AP rooms left. Apparantly they only leave open a certain number of rooms for the AP rate and they are all booked so I can't convert mine. I will do as you suggest and try and call back daily to see if someone cancels. Thanks for the pixie dust. I will try right now, maybe it will work.

Keep trying to convert your room to the AP. Make sure you are speaking to CRO!

Never give up, never surrender. Check around 8 am or 7:30 pm est. .....Did you know that CRO is in Orlando!..... Cancellation happen at close of business after 8 pm,(cancelled rooms become available), but I have had luck real early and real late on the hard to get discounts.

I have used Mary's site for our last two trips and WOW have we saved money over what I spent before I knew about this site and hers....eeek 149.00 a night rack rate. Because of her fabulous site I managed to get CBR on our last trip (Aug) for 99.00 a night and on our November trip I got a rate of 84.00 a night (Fla Resident rate) I asked CRO about December too and she said the rate was still good for the time I was thinking of. Can we say FIVE Disney trips in a year?? ROFL My coworker thinks Im nuts....well I am but that's beside the point.....to be going five times in a year but we LOVE Disney!!!
