I will do a TR when I get home but wanted to relay some quick thoughts.

- Kidani GV was beautiful, but the walking was ponderous. The unit was great though, my only criticism is a small one: There should be some sort of curtain or divider to close off the upper level at night. Otherwise any socializing downstairs can be heard upstairs. Also, I wish there were more animals (not one giraffe in 4 days and literally about 4 animals), not sure if it's b/c we were so far out. Not sure we would book again, with small kids and a large group the distance to the room was really annoying. Beautiful resort though, a counter service option would be great.

- Ate at Sanaa, in my opinion it was average at best. Yes, I'm jaded; I was a restaurant reviewer for 5 years. But the Tandoori lamb was tough and chewy, and just about everything I tried was average. Three portions of basmati rice were not cooked. Food came out room temperature. The bread service was great.

- Went to F&W on Saturday, we were shocked at the level of depravity. I'll expand later, but if you find it an acceptable part of the Disney experience to have to leave in order to protect the safety of your children, then we disagree. Here's a sampler of what we saw: A shirtless dad holding a stroller while vomiting in the bushes, two girls standing on the fountains in Italy FLASHING a group of guys, a mosh pit of about 40 U of F students in Japan during the drum performance that effectively trampled a small, screaming boy. I also spoke with two 18 year old boys who were drinking 22 oz beers. So underage drinking, flashing girls, vomiting & mosh pits: A typical day at Disney!

- We got to BCV yesterday and while our medical room request was thoroughly dismissed (we asked for a 1st floor room or close to elevator b/c we have a child in a wheelchair, we ended up in the last room 551 on the 5th floor!), we did get a surprise call today and are moving rooms. We love it here.

-The weather is amazing, warm and sunny. We had one cold day (11/11), since then it's been great.

- MK crowds on Sunday were low, a pleasant surprise.

- Had a great b-day dinner on Sunday at Ohana that turned into a horror show after 4 members of our party spent their last night and day vomiting due to food poisoning. The only 4 who ate the pork.

-After staying in the GV, the 2 BR at BCV feels like a closet! The GV feels like it's 4 times the size.

-Everybody on the pool side at BCV just uses the patio as an exit. Sitting at the villa pool yesterday, I watched people just come and go, climbing over the bushes and trampling shrubbery. I know this is not allowed. Either enforce this rule, or get rid of the shrubs and let people walk out. Also, the smokers are out in force, sitting around the pool or sitting on their porches. Nobody seems to be care. One guy was smoking in the hot tub when I walked by last night.

-Did I mention that we love BCV?

Report your concerns to resort management - especiall the issues with smokers and people trampling the shrubbery. Make sure you e-mail DVC as well.

I agree, and keep that cell phone camera handy to record the evidence.

Last year's Food and Wine was our last one. The behavior was not pleasant and I am not a prude, I love New Orleans.

But I don't want to see Bourbon St type behavior at Epcot. :sad2:

that's dreadful news about F&W! We were there on Friday - while it was packed, most folks seemed fairly well-behaved and lines moved quickly.

I was at MK on Saturday, also absolutely packed - whew! But the weather was gorgeous. Glad it wasn't as crowded for y'all on Sunday.

I hate that you were disappointed by the view at the GV - I had a savannah view for one night in a studio and had the same experience, but spent far fewer points. On another night, we had a savannah view much closer to the lobby and saw many more animals, even at night - beautiful! I wonder if GVs are generally farther away from the lobby. And you were right about all of that walking - my studio was at the very end of the hall and, of course, I needed to go to the lobby for something - must have been a half-mile round trip!

Other than the disappointing view and the long walk, Kidani was wonderful, though.

I met lots of nice people from New Jersey - funny how theirs was the predominant accent I heard most of the week.

Hope your big family trip is getting better - you sure have gone to a lot of trouble to pull it all together! How is your wife feeling?
