Day 1) Sunday Oct. 16th
On our way…
It actually wasn’t that hard to get up at 3:00 am…I am pretty sure I was already awake prior to the alarm going off. It was pretty dark out, but I quickly got cleaned up, and then had a yogurt, banana, and cup of OJ in the kitchen and said good-bye to you all on the DIS…while Matt took a shower. I was glad that NR didn’t hear us and wake up.
We got the last minute toiletries and other times in the suitcases and then I broke the clip to latch the garment bag (whoops), so Matt tied it shut. I got all the suitcases out by the front door and then said good bye to my Mom just after 4 am.
I loaded up the bags into the back of Matt’s car, as he ran back in as he almost forgot his sunglass clip and extra contacts. We were on the road about 4:25 am…a bit behind schedule, but we had no traffic all the way to my Sister and BIL’s house. I drove, I can’t remember what we talked about in the car, but were happy to be on our way. As I arrived to their house, I guess my BIL was sitting on their front stoop and he was wondering who this “drunk” was turning around in the neighbor’s drive.
He took the wheel and got us to the airport 5:15 am.
It was pretty empty and had no line thru security or any issues. We had our first experience w/ the body scan too. Matt almost had some difficulty raising his left arm above his head. We also noticed a family sitting to the side having all their bags checked through.
Once we were situated we headed down to our gate and the plane was scheduled to leave on time! The gate area was already pretty full, but we took 2 seats near a group of elderly ladies. This group of ladies kept having more arrive via wheelchairs too. I felt like we were part of some private party, but also was worried w/ all these wheelchairs and a lot of children on our flight meant early and pre boarding how were we going to get two seats together?
Matt grabbed us some drinks (3 btw and it was just over $10) and we ate some muffins I brought from home. As Matt went to use the restroom, I chatted w/ one of these ladies about where they were going (a cruise).
Boarding began about 20 minutes to 7 am and I was even more nervous now…
As B group was called we got in line w/ the some 13 people between us and I kept my fingers crossed it would work out. Once I got on the plane I was just about to pass the 2nd row and I saw that nice lady I was chatting w/ and said “Have a wonderful trip” when she says to me “Where’s your husband?...here you two sit here by me”
THANK YOU! :worship:
I couldn’t believe our luck…it pays to be nice I tell you and the first bit of MAGIC occurred for this trip!
The flight took off right on time at 7:05 am and was a pleasant flight. We both tried to rest a bit, I also read and journaled. We watched part of a movie on Matt’s laptop…a Halloween one but of course! Jack Sparrow err I mean Johnny Depp in Sleepy Hollow.
We arrived early to Orlando (SWEET!) at 10:10 am. After a quick rest stop (which I by passed the first one and went to the 2nd one we saw, no line)
we made into the mini-monorail
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/100_1405.jpg
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/100_1406.jpg
(Matt wondered why I took this pix and I said I need something for travel day in the TR)
And were on the DME bus by 10:50 am after a short wait for the bus. Boy it was packed down there, a ton of guests arriving today. Our bus was packed full!
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/100_1408-1.jpg
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/100_1410.jpg
We got to WDW property that some 28 minutes later, and had a fun bus driver telling jokes and having fun w/ the guests. In particular some children up front wearing Yankees hats. They were staying at the Poly and he joked he’d let them off first since that would be the only thing they would finish first at. ;)
He also asked us non newbies if the first timers (which mostly the whole bus were) if they would get any rest…you know what Matt and I yelled “NONE”
I was able to catch the edge of the Welcome Sign:
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/100_1411.jpg
CR for BLT was going to be the last stop after Poly, GF and WL and we were getting anxious so decided to jump bus at the Poly. I needed a restroom (I should have kept track how many I actually went into) and then we hopped on the monorail and went around to CR. Here’s our first look at MK and BLT:
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/100_1412.jpg
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/100_1413.jpg
Did we beat the bus? Who knows, but we were enjoying ourselves.
Check-in went super smooth w/ hardly anyone there. As we checked in, I was checking my BLT room #/view cheat sheet:
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/100_1414.jpg
And doing a little “even # chant/dance” I wonder if it worked I couldn’t wait to receive the room ready text!
We received our two Anniversary pins
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/100_2104.jpg
I wonder how much fun they would have?
No room was ready for us, so we checked our carry-ons w/ bell services out front and then headed up to the Contempo Café to grab some food…our first Disney food of the trip. "Happy Anniversary" "Thank you" this was one of many exchanges to come for our happy pins...
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/100_1415.jpg
We flaked a bit at those ordering screens, but then remembered the drill.
For our first meal we had:
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/100_1416.jpg
Matt (um nice face) a hot turkey sandwich w/ fries and a soda, He said it was pretty good, but the cheese was a bit sweeter than he thought it would be.
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/100_1417.jpg
And I had my new usual the turkey BLT w/ fries and a sprite which I later refilled w/ lemonade and poured into my water bottle. Mine was good, but needed less turkey and more bacon.
Our first meal grand total was $24.88
From there we headed to the Magic Kingdom for the first time on this trip!
Up NEXT: meeting Mickey, my new boyfriend…

You guys look so happy to be together in WDW! What a blessing it was to go on that trip together right before Matt's surgery, huh? I will say a prayer for him for a great recovery. :) I get sad just thinking about you going on your trip without him! It will all work out in the end, though.
It was probably good that you were running a bit behind schedule. The SW counter at Midway doesn't open until 430am. :confused3 It was VERY hectic for our flight. We've always made it to the gate with plenty of time to spare but this time I was able to use the rest room, get us some McD's quickly and by the time we were done scarfing it down it was time to board! :scared1: Didn't help that Greg's carry-on got flagged and TSA had to go through it. It ended up being my Nasal Spray (prescribed) that I forgot to take out to go through the scanner. :rolleyes1

Some much needed DIS time right now :crazy2: :faint: it has been one of those days and I feel like that is my new phrase in life...remember long ago when all I had to complain about was burnt bagels :rotfl: but for those of you NEW to my little island on the Dis (not that I am painting some sad sob story because it's not, just the waves are very choppy right now) days after our return, Matt had a major setback w/ his spinal condition and was immediately scheduled for surgery and placed on disability from work...surgery was on the 10th of Nov. and today was a huge setback w/ a rushed return back to the ER, he's better now but not out of the woods yet :sad2:...besides that our life is generally filled w/ many crazy ups and downs as we raise 4 children, 3 of which have special needs, including Autism...so needless to say I am a very busy lady and need my DIS fix like one needs a coffee fix...so as I recall this trip it will be bittersweet w/ where our road has turned since our return back to the non Disney life...but still filled w/ a sweet joy of the fun and knowing we'll be back if not in 2 months all together, soon enough :lovestruc
Joining in!! Glad your trip down went smooth! I laughed at you guys "abandoning bus" and monorailing from the Poly...that's SO something I would do!

Day 1) 10-16 cont. MK fun…
As we left CR we passed by our “welcome home doors”
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/100_1418.jpg
And another “welcome sign” to the party we couldn’t wait to attend, but were already watching the weather and getting nervous for Tues…
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/100_1419.jpg
We arrived to MK, I believe right before 1 pm and the first thing we did was go see Mickey! The queue area was EMPTY, just a few people ahead of us. They listed the wait at 10 minutes, if we waited that long. Be good to note the Princesses queue was listed at the usual 45 minute, where they were all standing, unknown to me. We took some pictures in the line:
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/100_1420.jpg
It appeared that most of the pictures were “magical” if you were standing right under them.

http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/100_1422.jpg
Once in the little room, there was even more cool things to look at:

This new area is very well done; I know my kids will like it!
We got a sneak peek of the main Mouse:
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/100_1428.jpg
It was our turn and the handlers were telling Mickey how it’s our anniversary and He thought he wanted me all to himself instead of sharing w/ Matt.

It was very cute and we had some great grins and giggles too!

After Mickey gave me back to Matt and we bid our farewells, we headed out for some fun. We marveled at the wonderful Fall decorations along Main Street:

Pirates of the Caribbean but of course, no we didn’t skip down the entry, but were all smiles.
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/100_1440.jpg
Happy Anniversary “thank you”
It wasn't quite a walk on, but didn’t take long at all. We got the front row and noticed it looked a bit wet…hmmm
We snapped an illegal flash shot of Nathan’s favorite Pirate in the ride, not Jack but Bill. Don’t ask me how he knows this
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/100_1441.jpg
Up next was the Carrousel:
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/100_1447-1.jpg
We saw this neat Brass Band playing near SWSA:
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/100_1448.jpg
Happy Anniversary "thank you"
We then had our first DISmeet of the trip w/ Parla and her family…two Pirates, a mermaid and one nice Diser. We had a short chat outside the back of the castle before their CRT lunch, they were already a bit wiped from the morning and in need of a break, but I was glad to meet her and chat a bit w/ her son Alex.

We said our goodbyes and then headed to the Tea Cups, not before I noticed this:
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/100_1451.jpg
Ok I know I am so bad…Matt snagged another shot of this ladies lovely Halloween hair-do, no one can say she wasn’t festive ;)
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/100_1452.jpg
Once again the line wasn’t that bad, and we got on pretty quickly. We snagged a purple or maybe green (OR blue that’s how it looks in the picture LOL) cup and got ready to spin!

This was fun and no one saying “too fast”…Ok maybe I did once
We next headed over to see Mickey’s PhilharMagic. This had quite the crowd, but the next show was just about to begin. We followed the rule of going all the way down the aisle…unlike some bad guests…This show is so fun; I love the music and clips. A great sit down break.
More construction underway:

Next up was one of my favorite rides: IASW
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/100_1457.jpg
…this was probably our 2nd longest wait of the day (the longest hadn’t happened yet) and we yet again encountered a few rude guests doing their own version of line cutting…but we had a merry ride and noticed something we had never seen before entering the ride area:
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/100_1460.jpg
Hmmm interesting? I noticed one boat doing it and was pretty sure if those crazy Spectrum Moms were w/ us we would have.

It's always fun to try to snap shots of crazy costumes or hair or clothes, isn't it? :rotfl: But I have to admit, I have always had a fear of someone snapping a picture of me and it ending up on a "do's and don't' list and I would be a don't! :lmao:
I also wanted to say I am praying for you and Matt and your family during his recovery. I hoping for lots of pixie dust for your upcoming trip as well:wizard:

Day 1) cont. finishing up our MK time …
Sometime during all this riding I think even before our meet w/ Parla I had received that room ready text w/ a room # 7914…I was giddy as a school girl and just knew we’d be able to see the castle little did I know how awesome it actually would be…
I last left off w/ us coming off IASW and we next headed to the ride we would ride the most this trip…Haunted Mansion of course!
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/100_1464.jpg
We checked out the new queue, the line wasn't too crowded, but crowded enough you couldn’t really mill, and maybe that’s why I wasn’t overly impressed.

We got our spook on and I attempted to snag a pix of my alter ego for the week:
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/100_1476.jpg
We also got stuck on the ride for a few minutes w/ the new hitchhiking ghosts…now that was cool!
Next up was the Tiki Room. I haven‘t been to this in years, but Matt has always enjoyed it and was eager to see it w/out the pestering Iago and Zazoo.
Happy Anniversary “thank you”
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/100_1482.jpg
He liked it, but for me it’s like Ellen’s Energy, can skip that for the next 5 trips…sorry
It was getting late (as in park closing soon for MNSHHP) and we knew we had time for just a few more things…one of which is a new trip MUST…getting Dole Whips! This WAS the longest line we stood in today and maybe for the rest of the week…it was actually a bit HOT so it was well worth the wait. And as we waited we got to see several guests walking by dressed up for the party that evening. I wish I snagged some more pictures, we saw some good ones, like one family of little green alien men!
With our Dole Whips (Floats) in hand ($9.57) we walked back toward Fantasyland and took a break and did a bit of guest watching where I snagged this shot:
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/100_1483.jpg
Then off to SWSA…where we saw a bit of competition:
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/100_1484.jpg
And on the ride:
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/100_1486.jpg
One last ride for the day, a restful spin around Tomorrowland:
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/100_1488-1.jpg
It was nice to put our feet up…the Happy Anniversary Feet shot
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/100_1489.jpg
We made our way out of the park but not before getting some PP pictures:

Happy Anniversary “thank you”
And we did a little shopping too. I was looking for Halloween Stuff, but unfortunately a lot was already picked over. We also had a bite to eat at Casey’s Corner, a first for us. I wasn’t real hungry so just got the corn dog nuggets and water. Matt got the hot dog meal w/ fries and used the topping bar ($15.52). The best part was the hot cheese sauce. Here’s some food porn for ya:
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/100_1493.jpg

http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/100_1492.jpg
We saw this group of party guests:
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/100_1495.jpg
And we were able to listen to a few songs from the Ivory Tickler:
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/100_1494.jpg
He noticed our pins Happy Anniversary “thank you”and played us "It's a Jolly Holiday" from Mary Poppins
It was now time to say good-bye and head to BLT…
Up NEXT: our room w/ a view…

Day 1) cont…our room w/ a VIEW!
We bid our farewells to the Magic Kingdom for now
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/100_1496.jpg
And walked back over to BLT w/ eager anticipation to see our room and check out the view! As we made our way over there, we saw many guests on their way to MK for the Halloween Party, we saw some great costumes, like Snow White and Dopey (adults), more pirates, and more. We couldn’t wait till Tues night!
We got to BLT and up the elevator to the 9th floor and just over past the service elevator awaited room 7914. As we opened the door, we noticed that our luggage had arrived and it appeared we may have a refurbed room…but none of that mattered, I needed to see our view. We made a bee-line to the balcony and opened the doors to see:
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/100_1497.jpg

http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/100_1499.jpg
THE CASTLE!
We didn’t even need to crane our necks, it was right there in front of us! No we didn’t get an upgrade from lake View to MK view, it was pure MAGIC!
The Lake was there to our right:
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/100_1501.jpg
Which was an interesting view too, as we’d see the boats come in each morning in the early sunlight, and some other odd things like billowing smoke (never figured that out) and the Endor Station out in the trees…don’t think we have a pix of it, but that’s what this building popping out of the trees looked like
Now there was one sore to this amazing view:
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/100_1500.jpg
Yep, that is what was directly under us, so we didn’t look down much
So let’s look at this again:
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/Roomview-1.jpg
We also could hear the train chugging around MK, it was a great ambience noise. Oh how I love BLT! Now that we were thoroughly excited by our view it was time to unpack and settle in to the room, but first some pictures inside our Studio, that actually wasn’t refurbed but a accessible room.
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/100_1503.jpg
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/100_1504.jpg

http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/100_1506.jpg
The accessible shower
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/100_1507.jpg
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/100_1508.jpg
The other shower/tub was right next to the sink. This helped getting ready in the morning be a breeze as we each had our own shower! The downsides of the room were, the bed had no box spring and was a bit soft for me, as well the mirror in the bathroom was low for Matt, he had to lower down to see the top of his head. The bathroom counter was minimal so good thing it was just the two us and our toiletries.
Lastly there was one closet, but oddly set up so there was no long hanging. Good thing MacGyver Matt was here, he rigged up some string hooks on the drapery rod for our costumes:
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/100_1520.jpg
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/100_1521.jpg
We finished up the unpacking and then rest a bit while watching Stacy of course. Then decided to put on our swimsuits and head down to the pool area for a dip in the Hot Tub. I didn’t take my camera. :headache:
Before heading out I put up our sign which would later have a surprise greeting on it:
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/100_1524.jpg
I love the art work at BLT, here was the poster art outside our elevator:
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/100_1528.jpg
The pool area wasn’t too crowded so that was good, some other couple was already in the hot tub and I felt a bit weird joining them, having odd movie flashbacks from something
So we checked out the fire pit nearby that we don’t remember being on in November. Then the tub was empty so we enjoyed a few moments of quiet together…but me the big dork couldn’t find a spot to sit right that the jets weren’t pushing me off the bench. Our solitude lasted only a bit, as a hoard of kids joined us…oh well.
We headed back up to the room and got jammies on and awaited Hallo-Wishes to begin. We no longer needed to head up to the Top of the World Lounge as we had our own private viewing area!
Fireworks cont next post…

We tuned in the TV for Hallo-Wishes to begin at 9:30pm and awaited the first pop and color burst…we were not disappointed at all! The show was absolutely amazing, I kept saying “wow” “ooh” “Awesome” it really was! I couldn’t wait to see it in person in the park in just a couple days…here are some shots Matt captured on his camera:

What a way to end our 1st day at Disney on this trip!
The TOP 3 Magical Moments of Day 1) were:
* The nice lady offering us seats at the front of the plane
* Meeting Mickey and having some fun joking around
* Our room view with the Hallo-wishes finale
Coming up (hopefully) a video recap of day 1) and then onto Day 2)!

Loving all the pics so far and WOW on your view. I know you said it was good, but it is amazing. So happy you got to enjoy a magical view! I can't wait to see more pics of the costumes others had on. I didn't think to take any, but I know you did and I know you were in many photos by request too on party night. ;)
it was pretty impressive i tell ya, I still can't believe our awesome luck! MNSSHP was beyond great...I can't wait to see it again w/ you and all :thumbsup2
Can't wait to hear how the rest goes.

So I don’t have that Day 1 video working yet…so let’s move forward…but first a special message that awaited us on Day 1) in our room:

Day 2) Monday Oct. 17th
We started out our morning w/ breakfast in the room:
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/100_1523.jpg
And then headed out of our room about 8:15/20 am and made our way over to CR to catch the Monorail to the TTC to make our way to Epcot!
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/100_1529.jpg
First thing on the day’s agenda was a DISmeet w/ Stephanie (Pixiedust) and her family. The plan was to meet in the lines pre RD and then head over to Soarin together. I texted her to say we had arrived and they had just made their way thru bag check, we walked toward the line area she said they were in to look for them…we I hear this lovely southern accent call out “Are you Matt?”
We all introduced ourselves and I gave her son Caden his DISgift, which he loved and they all thought was so sweet of us. We immediately all clicked and spent the next several minutes chatting away. Matt and Grandpa had a nice time talking. Once entering the park we made our way to the land Pavilion, we didn’t run, but got there pretty quickly and headed down to the ride. The CM’s greeted us w/ waves and music from the Thriller! Now that’s a way to start your day…I tried to snag a picture of them, but I guess my booty shakin distracted me from turning the flash on.
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/100_1530.jpg
It didn’t take long making in through the stand-by line, I think the wait time was listed for about 20 min but we made it through in less time. We enjoyed talking and getting to know each other. I snapped a few pixs of Stephanie and I:

http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/100_1533.jpg
The ride was awesome as usual (except I noticed the film must have been dirty which was a bit distracting)
Before we headed our separate ways after the ride we took a few more group pictures, Caden was so sweet.

Next Matt and I grabbed FP’s for TT and then walked over to the old Pavilion of Life which now housed the F&W F Welcome Center

not much happening in here yet, but I wanted to purchase a festival cookbook for my sister and a pin for myself, plus get two F&W gift card wristlets for use later in the day…but DOH! I couldn’t purchase a gift card w/ a gift card. Before leaving on the trip I put the $ we planned to use for F&W on a gift card and couldn’t transfer over. GRR! Oh well.
We backtracked to the front to get some pictures:

We next went to Mouse Gear the first of two times and did a bunch of shopping before heading back over to TT for our ride.

Trying to take pictures on here is a trick…
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/100_1550.jpg
Yes we did the kiss picture…I think I was a bit embarrassed LOL

It was just after 11 am so we made our way up to the World Showcase, stopping along the way for some FREE Craisins (YUM!) and had a guest take our picture too:

http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/100_1554-1.jpg
Our first booth stop was Australia, and after a bit confused on the ordering process we got our first tempting sensations of the day. They hit the spot.

http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/100_1558.jpg
We got Shrimp on the Barbie, Grilled Lambchop and the Lamington Cake…all were finger lickin good and freshly prepared and HOT too. I was impressed and ready for more! Matt said the little lamb sacrifice was worth it. I made a note to myself, bring wetnaps and breath mints….
We followed the order toward Mexico and stopped at Brazil next for the Seared Mahi Mahi, which was equally good. I noted how tender it was and loved the sauce.
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/100_1559.jpg
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/100_1560.jpg
I had to create a system of ordering, grabbing plastic wear, napkins then finding a table, curb or bench to sit and eat our food. We’d take a picture, share and eat, then make some notes in the little food review booklet I made. We definitely took our time stopping, eating and talking at each stop which is quite a departure from the normal touring routine. We thought to ourselves, how could you do this w/ kids in tow, be tough making this many stops and the COST e-gad that would be tough considering what we spent of the course of 2 days…
Up next was a stop for drinks at the Caribbean Booth. These frozen delights sounded so good, but unfortunately like most of the “drinks” we got didn’t always match up… I tried the Frozen Rock Coconut Mojito and Matt got the Dragon Berry Colada
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/100_1561.jpg
It was ok, maybe I took too long drinking it, but didn’t taste like much. Matt liked his, but a bit sweet for his liking.
I took a few scenic shots, it was a bit overcast this morning, but wasn’t cold and never rained:

http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/100_1563.jpg
We stopped to sit down outside Mexico and then moved up to Scandinavia to try the Swedish Meatballs w/ Lingonberries…where they much different than the Ikea version…no not so much, but they were still good w/ a nice rich sauce.
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/100_1566.jpg
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/100_1565.jpg
We decided to go on the Maelstrom next, I can always pass on this ride, but Matt enjoys it, so it had been awhile since I rode it.

The next stop was China where we tried the Pork Pot Stickers and the Xinjiang Barbecue Chicken Stick.

http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/100_1570.jpg
The Pot Stickers were great, but seemed pretty similar to the frozen kind I can get at the store. I wasn’t in love w/ the chicken stick…it was ok, a bit dry for my taste. We also re-ran into Parla and her family too. The kids came and chatted w/ Matt and I a bit while she was in line getting food for them.
After eating we walked back to check out the new China main shopping area and looked around for awhile. We admired the tea sets and “picked” out one. This is where I bought my new wallet too.

http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/100_1576.jpg
On our way out of China, we saw a PP photographer and got some really nice pictures:

http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/Photo0740FourBySix.jpg
We continued onward w/ our dining experience and stopped in Germany. This was one of the longer lines of the day w/ of course the beer options, but neither of us got any yet. We tried the Nuernberger Sausage in a Pretzel Roll and the Apple Strudel w/ Karamel/Vanilla Sauce.
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/100_1577.jpg
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/100_1578.jpg
They had a nice seating area set up back here w/ tables and benches and I noticed an older couple sitting at a table w/ one side open so I asked if we could join them. We had a lovely 20 min conversation w/ this retired couple from I believe the Pennsylvania area who now lived outside of Orlando and were in for the day. It was fun to chat w/ them and dream about us retiring down here some day.
We now wandered a bit looking around at things. I had read once that the cookoo clocks were all suppose to go off together on the hour so we attempted to catch that, but no luck, guess that doesn’t happen. Bummer
I’m not sure what the order was for the next items, but we went to Italy and got the Cannoli and a Smoothie. We found a bench in the shade to rest a bit

http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/100_1579.jpg
when what luck we were able to watch the Sergio show for a bit. He is a great performer; we really enjoyed seeing this again and were reminded of when Rebekah was chosen to be his assistant in the show 2 years ago.
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/100_1581.jpg
We also stopped in Belgium for one more treat of the day the Belgium Waffle w/ Berry compote and Matt tried the Leffe beer. The waffle was freshly prepared and topping was good, could have used 1 each. Matt liked the beer, but said was a bit heavy tasty. I recall talking to another couple while we sat on a bench and ate, they were newlyweds on their Honeymoon :goodvibes

We also stopped in France
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/100_1585.jpg
and saw the Impressions de France movie. I think I had seen this once before? We tried to guess when it was filmed, we think in the 80’s…I hate to admit but sitting down for almost 20 minutes in a semi comfy chair I started dozing off…whoops. :rolleyes1
We also got some PP pictures here too:

Included a stop in the tea shop (which was surprisingly VERY busy) and we got some pumpkin chai tea for back in the room.
The last thing we did before heading out for the day was to stop in Canada

To see the Canada circle vision movie. We must have arrived just after a show had stated and we had a bit of a wait. I’m not sure if have ever seen this one, it was amusing and interesting. I loved the area walking back to get to the theatre, it really is quite pretty back there.
I don’t have a time written down when we left EP, but I think it was just before 5 pm. We had a relaxing and nicely filled EP day w/ just taking our time and doing several things we normally wouldn’t do if the kids were w/ us.
Up NEXT: Our anniversary dinner…

What an incredible view from your room! And who needs to look down when you have that to look at? :thumbsup2
That voice message from Minnie and Mickey is adorable! :lovestruc
Food and Wine Festival looks awesome! I'm sure our budget would be shot with all that great food available. (Not to mention with 2 teenage boys!) LOL...definitely a good idea to do it without the kids in tow!
Your trip so far seems so relaxing and romantic! Can't wait to hear more!

Cont. Day 2) Mon Oct 17th…
We last left off, with Matt and I leaving Epcot for a small break back at our room, at BLT before getting ready to go out for dinner for our anniversary. I can’t quite remember what we did, but I think we rested, checked the weather channel, and I know Matt took a nap.
We got ready for our Anniversary Dinner at Narccoossee’s at the Grand Floridian. We had never been there and were really looking forward to it. We had a 7 pm ADR and arrived w/ time to spare.
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/IMG_2962.jpg
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/IMG_2964.jpg
We checked in at the podium, and received a pager and knew we’d have a wait. So we walked around a bit. I really wanted to just sit down, but there weren’t many places to sit in or outside. I felt pretty odd walking on the veranda in front of people eating (but I guess you can as many did throughout the evening)
We did walk down toward the boat dock and asked a guest to take out picture, it turned out wonderfully:
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/IMG_2966-1.jpg
Look at that sky…beautiful!
And Matt took this pic of me:
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/IMG_2965.jpg
And we took in a few nighttime shots, here’s one:
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/IMG_2967.jpg
We wandered back over to the front, and sat inside for a while and noted how many more people were coming in and those w/ little kids. I was really surprised, this place is pricey, and not what I’d call a kid place either. I was getting anxious and hoping for a great table considering it was our anniversary. Other guests coming in after us were getting seated before us, I was getting annoyed. :headache: Finally our buzzer went off and we were plopped at the first table
Matt caught this dim shot of our castle view
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/IMG_2970.jpg
Oh well, we can’t have everything…we received our menus which were customized for us, now that was a sweet touch!
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/100_1597.jpg
And we placed our order. We received the comp bread basket and shared a salad:
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/100_1599.jpg

http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/100_1603.jpg
And I ordered the crab crusted fish

http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/100_1604.jpg
We had a lovely meal, I didn’t finish all of mine, but Matt loved his dish. I was getting excitingly anxious to see the cake and couldn’t wait. I don’t know what I was expecting but I was expecting something awesome…like the Sultan’s castle in the clouds or a flying carpet…something really special. I guess my expectations didn’t match what was discussed. I’m not saying it was horrible, but sadly it was a letdown for me. :guilty:
The waitress brought us out the cake and some plates and a comp champagne toast w/ strawberries. I cut into the cake and we enjoyed it.

http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/100_1613.jpg
But sadly for me, it was not over the top good, it tasted like it had been made at least a day in advance and sitting in the fridge
I know I sound like a party pooper, but it just wasn’t what I had hoped for. We each had another piece and then the comedy hour began as I attempted cutting this thing into chunks to put in carry-out containers so we could get it in our little fridge back in the room.

After a serious wash-up of my hands in the restroom, we headed down toward the boat dock again to watch Wishes. We had a decent view and a nice perspective. There were a lot of people down there (probably from the resort and restaurants). As well as a ton of Florida mosquitoes. Matt took some nice distance pictures:

After the fireworks, I had to use the ladies room something fierce, and walking back up to the main building was a trek for me…
We sat down in the lobby for a bit to take a little rest and enjoy the music being played up above.

I had originally wanted to go to MK to get a few pictures in front of the castle dressed up, but Matt didn’t think it was a good idea w/ the cake in tow. On the way back to our resort, I asked him if he’d like to change and go back to MK for EMH and a few rides. But he was tired and sore so we opted to stay in the room and get an early night’s sleep. I had slept awful the night before and I guess I too needed some sleep before our long day on Tues.
So overall the Anniversary dinner was lovely, but not as big of a highlight for me as I had hoped.
The Magical Moments of day 2)
* our first food and wine tasting in Australia YUM!
* the sweet custom menu at Narcoossee’s
* watching Wishes together on the boat dock at the GF
Stay tuned for Day 3) our DHS morning and lunch ADR at HBD popcorn::

Aww, I'm sorry your cake wasn't quite what you had hoped :( Other than that it looks like you had a lovely evening! Love that picture of you both in front of the sunset, it's a framer!

I'm sorry to hear that the cake wasn't everything that you had hoped it would be! I always have lofty expectations of desserts, so I know how it stinks when you're disappointed!
But you guys did get gorgeous photos that night! I love that one of you guys on the dock! :goodvibes

Wow mega updates! I got a whole day at once! :thumbsup2
I'm so jealous of your anniversary message! We didn't get one of those! :confused3 Wait... was that your wake up call? Maybe the kids listened to it & we never heard it? Or did one of you have to request that?
Looks like it was a great day exploring F&W at Epcot! I love that you got to slow things down & take in a couple movies. I still haven't seen the Canada movie!
Narcoossee's looks yummy! Sorry the cake didn't live up to what you wanted. I'm not a huge fan of those pictures sprayed on a chunk of chocolate... is that what it was?
Can't wait to see what's next!!

Sorry to hear you didn't get a great seat and the cake was just so-so. Was that just a plastic picture plopped on the top? I do like all the Mickey heads on it, though. Very cute as were the personalized menus.

it was a bit of a bummer, but it's ok...no not plastic but a "screen printed" piece of chocolate. I swear i had said i didn't want the chocolate flowers and something special Aladdin inspired on the top for decoaration...guess you win some and lose some

Day 3) Tues 10-18 Star Quality at DHS…
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/100_1626.jpg
We started out our day w/ running a way behind schedule (why does this seem to always happen on Studio days? We got out of the room basically at the time I had wanted to BE at DHS…oh well. We walked as quickly as we could upon arrival to TSM and were watching the FP return time continue to go further into the afternoon as the minutes ticked past 9 am…we got in a line that started almost at the entry to One man’s dream and slowly made out way closer to the FP machines…It must have been about 15 past 9 am and our return was for 11:40 am UGH…well so much for going on twice.
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/100_1627.jpg
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/100_1628.jpg
We next wandered the back way toward Star Tours and first stopped along the NY backdrop and asked a guest to take our picture:
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/100_1629.jpg
We also noticed the inside of this interesting shop window, too bad the keeper was out to lunch:
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/100_1631.jpg
We basically walked on ST and got ready for our Galactic Tour, matt requested the front row. I hadn’t been on this ride in a long time, so it was kind of fun. Matt was feeling stiff afterwards, but enjoyed himself. We look around in the gift shop then wandered over by the speedracer in hopes to find a guest who would take our picture.
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/100_1637.jpg
We asked a family who was taking pictures of their kids and I was clearly not thinking when I chose this skirt today because A) I needed to sit side saddle and B) it was quite the challenge to get on it like that and hold on w/out slipping off LOL
We then entered the nonexistent queue for ST and I snapped a few shots along the way:
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/100_1632.jpg

http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/100_1636.jpg
Matt requested the front row (someone here on the DIS gave us that suggestion) for less bumps and jerks…who wants to sit by a jerk anyways (sorry couldn’t resist)
We had a good tour until we ended in the middle of saw Inner Galactic shootout, but we survived and brought the “only hope” message from Princess Lei to the Federation or is it the Republic? safely.

Up next we decided to hang out w/ our Muppet friends…we haven’t seen this show in a long time and no I didn’t look under the mat to see if the key was there. There was a small line to go in, but I think that was just to let the group ahead of us to move into the actual theatre. We snapped some pictures outside first:

http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/100_1647.jpg
I tried to get a picture of the grumpy men, but didn’t have much luck before the show began and I think got the attendant’s unwanted attention w/ the “no flash photography” repeated whoops…
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/100_1648.jpg
After we had some good 3D laughs, we headed back to One Man’s Dream and wandered around in here for a bit and then watched the wonderful little movie at the end (why do I always get a little teary during this?)
Here are some pictures for your enjoyment:

It was now time for our lunch ADR at the Hollywood Brown Derby…we have only eaten here once before back in ’98 w/ friends and were both looking forward to it. The place was still basically empty it probably just opened and we didn’t have a wait.

http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/100_1674.jpg
And I had the Cobb Salad, I should have taken the before pix better, but it was tasty I asked for the blue cheese on the side and tried a bit in there and then was “ick icking away”
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/100_1673.jpg
I wonder how many times this picture gets taken?
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/100_1675.jpg
We shared a champagne toast on the house w/ our dessert, a berry cobbler…

When Matt and I were first dating we used to go to Baker’s Square the restaurant and share a berry cobbler there, so this was extra sweet. It was a great lunch and really was a relaxing meal. We enjoyed our waiter and looking around at the pictures and spotting the duplicates.
We now returned back to TSM for our ride…

Even with the late start, it looks like you had a great day at DHS. :thumbsup2 I really need to make a point to drag Tim & the boys into OMD. The only time I've ever been in there was on the Spectrum Mom's trip in January.
I'm glad you enjoyed your meal at the BD. We have yet to try that one. Tim is the adventurous eater but every time I suggest new restaurants, he steers me back to the old favorites.

oh you really should try some new places...I tend to go to the same ones too  but generally we don't budget enough for the TS places...this was real nice, not overly busy and even though it's not what you'd consider a kid place, it's a great low key option for DHS...despite the extra dining credit
I'm sorry you didn't like your cake... we thought about ordering one last trip and now I'm kinda glad we didn't.

Day 3) Tues 10-18 continued…all dressed and nowhere to go?
We last left off, with us leaving DHS and heading back to BLT for a break and then get ready for MNSSHP later that night…when we arrived back at CR I had realized I never picked up our tickets for the party from concierges, so I stopped there first. I can’t remember the exact explanation anymore, but they were unable to print our tickets there, but assured me there would be no issues in stopping at the Guest Service counter at MK to get them…ok.
After a rest, a snack (pizza from Contempo café) and a quick DISmeet w/ Michelle exwdwcm, whom I’d later meet up w/ again at the party… Matt and I starting getting ready. We were quite worried about the pending rain that loomed in the forcast…100% chance of rain is not something you want to hear…but we moved on getting spooky!

And After, my nearly dead husband:

We headed down to the lobby to walk over to the party and stopped first for a photo…it was so hard to keep a straight face. I wasn’t quite sure what the CM’s and quests that saw us were thinking…I think some got it and others were strangely spookified by our wonderful full out costumes!
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/100_1694.jpg
I made the dreary walk up the sidewalk to MK:

http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/100_1696.jpg
Can you just hear some hauntingly creepy version of “Here Comes the Bride” in your head …
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/100_1699.jpg
And my reluctant groom ;) yes his eyes are closed...maybe I looked to scary for him
And we made it in the turnstiles, as Matt stepped on my train a few times (I hadn’t bustled it yet) and walked over to GS. When to my dismay I am told you bought tickets for the Sun 10-16 party not tonight’s!
:scared1:  :scared1: !!!!
I could feel the sweat beading up along my brow and my hands start to shake and my heart was beating so fast (the real one not my light up one)…it was quite a sight and not just because I looked like that either. It was hard to be so serious when I all I could think of was are you kidding we are all dressed up and we can’t even go in!
*
*
*
*
Ok I seriously thought of letting you hang...but then nah...
This was a terrible nightmare as the CM checked the screen, got another CM and then finally a manger as they began to adjust our tickets…I seriously thought there for a mere moment she was going to turn us away.
I know when I bought the tickets over the phone I said 10-18 and that we were checking in on 10-16 :headache:
But whether they took pity on us (I mean after all we were dead) or they were getting scared by my bloody axe? They issued us new tickets for the price I had originally paid (which almost didn’t look like that was going to happen either) and we were on our way. Whew! Crisis diverted!
We headed over to the front area before entering the park and got a lot of good looks…and stopped to have the first of many PP pictures taken. The PP photographer was awesome…he was in awe of our costumes and look and was laughing cause he loved it so much, which of course made us laugh too and we were trying to be dead here…

I wish you could have seen more of my train out in these..but this are still such nice pictures
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/Photo0834FourBySix.jpg
thinking "his head will be in my hands soon” Chop...
A CM looking in charge person stopped us as were about to head into the park…at first I was hoping he wanted to treat us to some magic and then got scared he was going to eject part of our costume…he didn’t like my train down (not that I planned on having it down the whole time) and made us bustle it, now he didn’t like the first hook, so we had to go one higher which I didn’t like cause it looked funky from the back but oh well…and on we went…
As soon as we passed under the train a guest ran up to us and exclaimed “OMG I love it can I take your picture!” and of course we said yes and then she got in the picture w/ us…cool we have groupies already!
I gave her one of the MNSSHP DIS'd by Scrappie pins I made (later I saw her again and she still had it on :thumbsup2)
The rest of the evening, CM’s guests alike would stop us and say how much they loved our costumes and wanted to take our picture or get in a picture w/ us…I was personally hoping we went viral on the internet but never did find us…some people knew exactly who we were and would make jokes at Matt he better watch his neck (hmmm maybe that was future insight we didn’t know about at the time?) and others I think were highly confused and would say things like “are you really married?” “Congratulations” like we just got married and one guest said to me “um your dress is all wet in the back” like this was my real Wedding dress…
It was a blast and we loved every minute of it! :goodvibes

First thing first were some pictures in front of the castle…
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/Photo0840FourBySix.jpg
can you believe we both blinked at the exact same time in this one...

http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/Photo0843FourBySix.jpg
Don’t we look so “happy” LOL
We then went straight over to our home away from home for the night and greeted the help out front:
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/100_1700.jpg
This picture cracks me up, as another CM took this shot (not the dressed up help)…a bunch of other guests stopped and starting taking our picture too! This by far besides the PP pictures is my favorite of the night!
As we were walking up the queue line, the other guests were just loving us…we kept to the act perfectly as we dragged our dead bodies to the center of the room and as it was dark in there I handed matt my bouquet so I could turn on my heart so it would beat in the dark stretching room…I may have freaked a guest or two!
We took one of many turns on the HM attraction…we had hoped a CM would snap our picture in the Doom Buggy but they were quite unwilling…so we snapped ourselves
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/100_1703.jpg
AHHHH!
And a guest took our picture outside too:
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/100_1704.jpg
We snagged a PP person to take our picture, this one didn’t turn out that great but luckily we’d come back later in the night…
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/Photo0844FourBySix.jpg
We walked over to the Carousel next, since I thought we’d look quite out of place riding this ride. If it was hard getting up side saddle on the SW speedracer, well this was even trickier:
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/100_1705.jpg
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/100_1706.jpg
We asked a guest to take our picture together, but she was flustered and it didn’t come out oh well.
SWSA seemed like an appropriate ride for the night, so Matt snagged a pix of us on it (even though you can’t totally tell)
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/100_1708.jpg
Next we headed over to where the Dwarfs were going to be so we’d be sure to be in line before 7 pm when the party officially started. We got there about 6:30 ish and there were about 10 groups maybe ahead of us. The party in front of us was all dressed up as the 7 Dwarfs, Snow White, and the evil Queen. They looked wonderful and I’m sad I don’t have a picture to share.
About 10 minutes into waiting it began to drizzle and then rain and then pour and then was a complete monsoon for about 30 minutes…we did our best to stay dry under the huge golf umbrella we borrowed from Anne Marie irishdancer (TG). But where better to be when the rain happened…
The line began to move quickly and they had the Dwarfs set up under the awning near the restrooms and helped guests across w/ additional umbrellas, I was originally going to take the picture of those other guests now, but because of the rain it didn’t work out. Here’s our picture:
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/Photo0857FourBySix.jpg
Matt and I would always pre decide if we were smiling or looking dead. We smiled with these guys!
After a washroom break and trying to recompose myself after getting a bit wet mostly the bottom of my dress…we sat under the train area as we waited for our first DISmeet of the night w/ Sheresa. We had a while to wait since they got caught in the downpour and had a stroller w/ them. But they eventually made it over to us and we had a wonderful time talking, laughing and taking some fun pictures. They were so sweet and fun!
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/100_1712.jpg
They said they had already gotten ton of compliments on their costumes too and just had dinner over at the CP…now that would have been a riot to see!

http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/100_1713.jpg
After saying our goodbyes we headed back down toward MS I really wanted to see WTP and gang dressed up, but they already were backstage getting ready for the parade. The first parade was delayed by almost 30 minutes because of the wet pavement and downpour that happened earlier. We decided to go see Mickey and Minnie dressed up instead. There wasn’t a wait at all and we walked right in. If they could have talked I just know they would have told us how much they loved our costumes! They were jumping up and down and giving up big thumbs up! The handlers just loved it.

http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/Photo0884FourBySix.jpg
We went out and back around to see which Villains were out next…they said the wait was very short so we gave it a go. I think they must have just went on a coffee break because our wait was a bit longer, but we ended up talking to another fun couple who were vacationing on their Disneymoon and it was the Bride’s first time ever here. It was so fun chatting w/ them. Finally it was our turn and we were a bit disappointed w/ our villain choice but still had some fun w/ them.

At this point I needed a restroom fast and we dodged around the crowds watching the tail end of the 1st parade at the end of MS then we headed up MS via the shops to grab a spot in front of the castle to wait for Hallo-Wishes to begin. I couldn’t wait for this!
We had about ½ hr till the show and got a great spot dead in front [wink] we probably didn’t need to arrive so soon, but we wanted an awesome spot. While we waited, Matt went in search of something to drink but the wait at Casey’s Corner was too long, so we took turns at the nearby drinking fountains. He also snapped a couple pictures of me in front of the castle:

These are a few of the only pictures of my beating heart…it was so very cool! Matt did an awesome job making this part of my costume!
and now "This is Halloween...!"

We were not disappointed the Fireworks were the BEST we have yet to see in the park…we loved every minute of this show! It was so fun…the displays on the castle, the colors and the music and soundtrack were all so good. It’s definitely worth the admission price! Matt got some great pictures of the castle and fireworks, plus I threw in one of the photos from the PP CD too!
After the show we decided to go on a ride before meeting up w/ Michelle for the Boo to You Parade. We headed for POC and stopped for another PP opp:
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/Photo0907FourBySix.jpg
We saw this cute couple dressed as gnomes and asked to take their picture for Nathan he is obsessed w/ gnomes and has quite the growing collection.
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/IMG_3524.jpg
Once again guests stopped us and the CM’s working the ride made some fun jokes at poor Matt’s dead expense…
We stopped in Pecos Bill for some drinks and I grabbed some paper towels to try and dry my feet and shoes, despite the fact it wasn’t raining anymore, the pavement was still wet and the inner lining in my dress just soaked up the water and was making it a bit slick in my shoes.
While inside we spotted some great guests dressed like this Sally:
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/100_1716.jpg
Now the funny story is I said hello to her as we walked by her table as “Hi Sally” and commented her costume looked great, she passed along the same compliment…I then wanted to get my pix w/ her and when I went up to her she didn’t quite see me and when she turned to me I apparently scared the carp out of her…whoops…well at least she was still a good sport and took the picture.
We made it over to the parade spot w/ just a few minutes to spare, good thing we had seats waiting for us. Michelle was so sweet and laid a plastic tarp down for me to sit on too.

The parade was so fun, I loved seeing so many cool things and the music was fun and pretty catchy too…we had a hard time taking pictures but here are just a few plus some from the PP CD again:

After the parade we hit some more rides, I think PPF, and maybe one more? We also stopped finally at some of the trick or treats stops to get some candy.
I also spotted another character from the HM and asked to take my picture w/ her too:
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/IMG_3582.jpg
Doesn’t she look AWESOME!
I know we backtracked over to the HM to see if the PP photographers were out and we were able to get the special affect shot:
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/Photo0877FourBySix.jpg
We didn’t act afraid, cause I mean hey were ghost too [wink]
While we were in line, guests coming off the attractions would point to us. As we headed out of the area, the Spirit of the Mansion was out talking to guests and we went up to her…she and I had a bit of a stare down, she was none too pleased w/ me that I never invited her to any of my weddings. She also warned Matt to watch out for me…
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/100_1717.jpg
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/100_1718.jpg
We stopped at Cinderella’s carriage and took a pretty nice “Wedding Photo” there:
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/Photo0911FourBySix.jpg
The rest of the evening is a bit of a blur at this point, but we headed over to catch the last showing of the Villain’s Show at 11:15 pm to arrive to hear the show was canceled…BOO! So we went over to ride Buzz and snagged this goofy photo:
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/IMG_3581-1.jpg
We stopped along the bridge to get yet another PP picture…we were all dressed up and castle looked awesome so why not huh?
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/Photo0879FourBySix.jpg
We backtracked over to the HM for one last turn and to take a few more photos, we were hoping to find more of the servants out front but no luck so we took one w/ a maid:
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/IMG_3583.jpg
The ride was practically deserted so Matt was able to get this shot of me in the waiting room before you enter the stretching room:
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/IMG_3584.jpg
We now headed out of the park but stopped to take some final PP pictures in front of the Castle and along Main Street:

Overall the night was just wonderful, despite missing a few characters due to timing and the weather, we had a blast and couldn’t have asked for anything more special for our first MNSSHP. I loved dressing up and interacting w/ other guests and CM’s…we had so much fun.
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/IMG_3591.jpg
Walking back to the resort, Matt snapped this picture of me..he says I look really scary…
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/100_1719.jpg
We were quite tired when we got back and were ready for bed…zonk!
Good thing we had that accessible shower cause I needed to hose off the bottom of my dress it was covered in grime from the wet pavement and hung it to dry in the shower then…

Love the updates. I can't imagine how much fun it was having all those folks stop and ask you for pics- that must have been a blast! I felt like a star just sitting with you at the parade! lol
Seriously, the costumes were amazing! It was terrible it rained, but we still had a great time too, so much so that Alan considered doing a second party, but we passed on it. We didn't get to see many characters and wish we had. We did hit every trick or treat spot though, which Will loved.
Love the pics with the HM cast members too! What a special night for you guys. Glad you made it to the end of the night too- you got some amazing shots in front of the castle with hardly anyone else there. Simply awesome!!!! It was so nice meeting you!!!!:thumbsup2:hug:

Awesome Mega-MNSSHP-update! I'm glad you got the ticket thing worked out! That would have stunk!!
some people knew exactly who we were and would make jokes at Matt he better watch his neck (hmmm maybe that was future insight we didn’t know about at the time?)
That comment cracked me up! (But only now that he's on the mend!)
Your potty breaks reminded me of a funny story... I was watching something on tv with Zach & a commercial came on for some prostate drug... It said something about, "Do you get a sudden urge?" or "Do you visit the bathroom too frequently?" Something like that... and Zach told me I should get some of that medicine! :rotfl:

very late to your party but what a wonderful trip you are having! I love love love the party pics, so many wonderful ones. Thank goodness they adjusted your ticket without any upcharge, talk about a stressful moment. Bummer the cake didn't quite meet your expectations but the custom menu was very sweet.

Wow, what an awesome party experience! I love love love the costumes, you guys looked so good!
thank you so much, I am so happy w/ the final "product" we had a BLAST!
Love the updates. I can't imagine how much fun it was having all those folks stop and ask you for pics- that must have been a blast! I felt like a star just sitting with you at the parade! lol
too funny...thanks for the royal treatment ;)
Seriously, the costumes were amazing! It was terrible it rained, but we still had a great time too, so much so that Alan considered doing a second party, but we passed on it. We didn't get to see many characters and wish we had. We did hit every trick or treat spot though, which Will loved.
yes the rain was a bummer but SO GLAD it wasn't a total wash out...can't believe you hit every trick or treat spot you must have had a hoard of candy!
Love the pics with the HM cast members too! What a special night for you guys. Glad you made it to the end of the night too- you got some amazing shots in front of the castle with hardly anyone else there. Simply awesome!!!! It was so nice meeting you!!!!:thumbsup2:hug:
those are the best ones w/ the CM's wish we could have gotten a better group shot, and yes the end pictures look great w/ no one around us!
You guys looked AWESOME!!! It's a good thing you got into the party, it looks like you had a great time! I love all of the great pictures you got!
I know! it would have been horrible we really did and thanks!
All caught up !!!! What a wonderful trip so far.
thanks H
Awesome Mega-MNSSHP-update! I'm glad you got the ticket thing worked out! That would have stunk!!
no kidding
That comment cracked me up! (But only now that he's on the mend!)
I was trying to be somewhat comical ;)
Your potty breaks reminded me of a funny story... I was watching something on tv with Zach & a commercial came on for some prostate drug... It said something about, "Do you get a sudden urge?" or "Do you visit the bathroom too frequently?" Something like that... and Zach told me I should get some of that medicine! :rotfl:
:rotfl: I need it too
Great party update, I love the PP pic of you two at the end of the night with the castle and partners statue
us too...the colors turned out great
WOW!!! Wow Wow!!! What a GREAT update.
LOVE your costumes, and what an amazing night it sounds like you two had. You got some really great pictures throughout the night, should make for some great lifelong memories. So fun.
I'm so glad you two had so much fun and had a fun time at the party and that you were able to get in.
Can't wait to see whats next.
thanks Jess, we really did it was the best part of the whole trip I think...we may just have to ressurect those costumes another time
Wow! The party sounds AMAZING! And, of course, you two looked incredible! Great job on the costumes. :thumbsup2
Love the special effects shot outside HM...so cool.
thank you so much, it was a ton of fun!...yes the picture w/ the ghost is very cool!

Day 4) Wednesday Oct. 19th 2011
Plans for the day:
*Sleep in
*ADR at the Wave
*AK and EP
Another Disney Day…what will we do? [wink]
Our day began quietly as we awoke and got ready for our final full day of Disney fun and we were looking forward to starting out w/ eating at the Wave for the first time. I was looking forward to a nice breakfast buffet and it was actually OK there would be no characters…well besides us.
Our breakfast was scheduled for 9:45 and we promptly arrived at 9:30 and were seated immediately…there were not a lot of people in here at all, which was nice for this relaxing morning. I immediately began to like this place and the décor. When you first entered on the right were like this blue caves, w/ big semi circle cushions surrounding a table…wouldn’t that be fun to hang out in w/ a few pals and have a drink?
But we were seated in the main dining area which was spacious and lovely. Sorry that I didn’t take any pictures…duh? But I have plenty of food porn for your liking…
My plates:

Oh and a picture of moi
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/100_1748.jpg
We both went up to the buffet two times and had plenty to eat…we both enjoyed the muti-grain waffles and sweet potato pancakes, I especially liked the grits w/ cheese too! Everything was very tasty. We certainly took our time eating and I was hoping it would work out to meet jenjolt and some other fellow DISers who were also dining there that morning…we did end up saying hello, but unfortunately Jen was having some travel issues and we didn’t really have time to chat. It was nice to meet her and we texted a few times later in the morning.
Matt also ordered tea and I couldn’t believe the size of the box they bring out for you to choose from:

After we had our fill, we walked back over to our room (w/ a possible stop in the gift shop again?) and gathered our stuff and then headed out to the TTC to head over to AK for the afternoon.

According to my notes, we arrived around noon and stopped along the path and got some really nice pictures in front of the tree:

As we wondered further in we stopped to see this roaming musician:
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/100_1751.jpg
And Matt stopped to watch the wood carver:

I went to get us some FP’s for the Safari, we next went to the Maharajah Jungle Trek and really enjoyed walking around in here, I think this was our first time and it really wasn’t that crowded. We snapped a bunch of pictures of the beautiful scenery and animals too.

In here we chatted w/ a wonderful CM who was retired down in FL and has for many years been a Disney fan and been to both DL and here many times before starting to work here. We had a fun time talking about both parks and the joy of working at WDW…I want that some day
We moved on to see the Majestic Tigers…

We kept wandering through and I began to take pictures of the photographer at work trying to capture pictures of the various birds and animals
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/100_1768.jpg
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/100_1765.jpg
When some girls passing by commented on how low the birds fly and what if one pooped on you and I starting laughing out loud as DISer Kathy’s story of her Poor Aunt Rae and the “dirty bird” pooped in my head…I of course had to share to explain myself.

http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/IMG_3637.jpg
We made our way out and went over to the Safari as it was now time for our return. Matt got our cart:
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/100_1771.jpg
The area was more crowded now, but still not that bad. We lucked out w/ the front row and had the most amazing Safari ever…the driver was great (he must have trained over on the Jungle Cruise first) and the Animals were out in forces today.
I don’t know if it was the weather (as it seemed a bit of chill was rising in the air and clouds rolling in) or something in the food…but they were active…
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/IMG_3645.jpg
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/IMG_3647.jpg
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/IMG_3655.jpg
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/IMG_3657.jpg
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/IMG_3659.jpg
A few highlights came when you know that ‘ol rickety bridge you have to cross that never seems to be repaired correctly well he called on the “Happy Anniversary Couple” and good thoughts to guide us over…take a listen:
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/th_VID00050.jpg (http://s1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/?action=view¤t=VID00050.mp4)
Then the second best part was when we stopped to take a look at the elephants and out of now where the whole heard comes charging up and through the area..badum badum badum…it was something to see, I caught a bit on video:
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/th_VID00051.jpg (http://s1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/?action=view¤t=VID00051.mp4)
That got our attention for sure, even the driver went off script as he called it in to the “real” park rangers…up next was the lions…now you know they are mostly always sleeping and sure enough this was no exception until we got stuck in the road due to animal passing in front of another tour and from behind the majestic king of the jungle just stands up…people are getting up to turn around to see it… too bad we don’t have a picture…
After the Safari, we decided to get a drink and a snack we still had our popcorn voucher from day 1) when we bought the Mickey popcorn bucket. We decided as well to catch the 1:45 show of the Tam Tam Congo. I grabbed us a great sit right in front by the large planters. The show begin and we were enjoying ourselves…it filled up fast after that and we kind of got squished in by some not so nice guests…
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/100_1774.jpg
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/100_1773.jpg
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/100_1777.jpg
But then as one of men in the group began grabbing guests to join the show he grabbed Matt and I…this was most fun, too bad we have no pictures or videos of it. After the show we were able to get this picture:
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/100_1778.jpg
That was so much fun and definitely not something normal for us, it was a bit out of Matt’s comfort zone but he said he enjoyed it. When we went over to our seat we noticed our popcorn got knocked over…I was quite bummed, I love popcorn…grr

At some point we stopped in the gift shops to look around and Matt played along w/ his wife’s corny humor:
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/100_1772.jpg
We decided to beeline it over to the 2:30 showing of the festival of the Lion King and made out great, w/ not that bad of a crowd and not that long of a wait either. I have all but two pictures of the show as I wasn’t planning on taking too many but mostly because I dropped my camera and I couldn’t get the lens to close…
So here are my lone two shots:
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/100_1779.jpg
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/100_1780.jpg
We of course loved the show and had a good time watching it.
I wanted to take Matt thru the tree of Life trail but couldn’t find the entrance, where do they hide it? :confused3 And then it starting get late and we really needed to find a spot for the parade, unfortunately we couldn’t find a good one not in the sun…as we debated on what to do, we just popped a squat on the pavement while Matt attempted fixing my camera. In the end we decided not to wait as Matt was getting uncomfortable plus those clouds still loomed overhead and of course I didn’t bring the ponchos this day…
I tempted the thought of him waiting somewhere for me while I made a mad dash to ride EE in the single rider line but I just wasn’t to sure he was actually ok w/ it so we passed on it and made our final way out of the park and went back to BLT for a short break before heading to EP for the night…
So up NEXT our final night at WDW…more food, wine and a little Sugar Ray too!

Loving the updates! We had dinner at HBD on our November trip and really liked it. Clay said that was the best meal of the whole trip. I'm thinking that one will stay on the list of "must-do".
I am sooooo glad ya'll were able to get into the party! Did anyone other than me get a kick out of the "Let The Memories Begin" in the background of your first PP pics?! Lots of great pictures and interaction that night!
Lots more great pictures in the AK...especially of the tiger! Looking forward to hearing about Epcot!

And a very fun AK adventure, love that you go pulled from the audience for the one performance and that the driver mentions you on safari. How cool.

I got the Chicken Souvlaki (think gyro) and Matt got the Greek Salad and wine Skouras St. George

The crowds were pretty thick already, but the lines not too bad…we enjoyed eating and doing a little people watching too, and then moved onto our next booth at Canada. I couldn’t wait to try that famous cheese soup. This booth was packed and they were a bit backed up on orders already. So I don’t have pictures of everything. At this point I regretted not bringing a water bottle from the room and bought one for $2.39 or something like that. :headache: The cheese soup I ate (almost all…whoops) while waiting on the sausage and salmon.
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/100_1790.jpg
We must have gotten the salmon first and sausage last, since that’s all I have a picture of. Our reviews for the soup, was that it was YUM tasty, different than what I thought it would be, very light. The salmon was a bit dry for me, and the sausage Matt really enjoyed, but too spicy for me.
As we rounded the corner, we checked the times for the Off Kilter show and decided to stand back and watch…the drunkards were out in force already at before 7 pm…it was a bit sad and crazy…how can anyone afford to get that toasted here? :confused3
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/100_1791.jpg
We enjoyed the show and I think I texted Tracy (Mickey_Mom) from Canada hat we were rocking w/ them. They were pretty good; we enjoyed the Celtic stuff more.
Next stop was Ireland for some dessert. This was also a very crowded booth w/ many guests waiting on their food orders. Since we only ordered the lava cake, the CM waved us around to the front and as I was trying to squeeze through a rude guest thought I was cutting…geesh
I don’t have a picture of this gooey delight, it was gobbled down to quick, mostly by Matt, he LOVES chocolate cake. It was served warm too, so that was even better.
The next booth stop was in France for me to get my Grey Goose Slushie and Matt got a $6.95 shot of Grand Mariner…the drinking began ;) But sadly I was disappointed this time around w/ the Goose, it didn’t taste very Boozy LOL for that price you should at least be able to taste it…
We next stopped in Morocco
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/100_1792.jpg
Where Matt ordered the baklava and a drink, but unfortunately I don’t have it written down, maybe the Sangria?
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/100_1793.jpg
I don’t really care for Baklava so he ate most of it.
We next stopped at the Hops and Barely Booth for some more drinks and dessert…

http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/100_1797.jpg
I ordered the Sam Adams Cherry Wheat and Matt got the souvie pilsner of the Sam Adams Boston Lager (which I shared a few sips), plus we got the Pumpkin Mousse. I tried hard to keep this tasty treat to myself, but no luck.
While we drank our beers we grabbed some seats to catch the last showing of the Sugar Ray Eat to the Beat concert.:rockband:

The concert was AWESOME! :cool1: We loved it, it was so fun…he was a great performer and the crowd was totally into it, we had the most fun (the several kicked back drinks probably helped too)
At the end I had to pee something fierce (sorry) and I think I barely made it above the mad dash to the American pav restrooms…why are they so far away?

We now rounded our way back around toward Mexico and stopped in just a few more booths along the way. We went to the Brewers Collection and got Beer Flight 1 which included Radeberger Pilsner, Schofferhofer Weizen and Braufactum Roog…I can’t remember which was which at this point…but 1 was a dark ale, one was a bit paler and one was similar to a light ale. Matt took the darkest ale, which was too bitter for him and I took the lightest ale which I enjoyed. We semi shared the 3rd one, but I mostly drank it…yes I’m the beer gal and Matt is the classy wine man LOL :rotfl2:

http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/100_1811.jpg
We stopped along the way to take some pictures of the World Showcase all lit up and a PP picture too:

We made it around to our last booth in just the nick of time right before 9 pm as the booths were closing up for the night and we got our only repeats of the trip from Australia the Shrimp and Lamington Cake!
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/100_1815.jpg
As we found a curb to sit on and eat, we decided it would be too difficult at this point to find a good spot to watch Illuminations and I think I was getting a beer buzz ;) so we headed into Mouse Gear to do some last minute shopping…was this a good idea?
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/IMG_3683.jpg
No I didn’t buy that, but we did find some good things to take home. We had a fun conversation w/ a CM at the checkout too…I do recommend shopping in here during the fireworks it was EMPTY in here…great for shopping!
It was now EMH time, so we headed out to get on some rides. We did Soarin again and Living w/ the Land:

I’m not sure what time we got back to the room, but ended up being pretty luckily w/ the bus back to CR (since the monorails were done for the night) and I said good night to my castle and was greeted w/ a special surprise:

what a fun night! I wanted to try that Cherry Wheat and never got to. It is on the list for this year though. Sounds like such a great adults only night.
I agree, i don't know how they afford to get so toasted there. I swear we probably spent like $200 on stuff at the F&W booths, but we mostly got food. My $50 gift card thing didn't last long and then we just paid cash. ouch! Some of those drinks are pricey!

Last day at Disney…
Thursday October 20th, 2011
Plan for the day:
* Check out
* Get to MK as early as possible
* KTTK tour
* Last minute MK touring
* DME back to airport
“home”
I started out the morning by getting up before the alarm and Matt and into the shower before 6:30 am. I woke up Matt and said let’s try and get moving…
We said good-bye and thanks to our amazing view and room:

http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/100_1885.jpg
After a quick breakfast and final packing we managed to get ourselves out the door and down to the empty airline check-in area before 8 am. It was a breeze taking care of that, we left our carry-on’s w/ bell services and headed over to MK.
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/100_1886.jpg
Till next time Bay Lake Tower…
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/100_1887.jpg
The park was already open w/ a morning EMH and it was a cool morning. We got into the nearly empty park and had about an hour before we needed to check in for our 9:30 am Keys to the Kingdom Tour.
We headed up Main Street and stopped for some final PP pictures, which actually turned out to be our favorites:

We had some time for a few rides and since the line for Dumbo was super short, we hitched a ride on a flying elephant:

This was Matt’s first and only time ever on the original Dumbo, I am glad he joined me. We enjoyed getting some sneak peeks of the construction over the walls:

We also took another spin on Snow White’s Scary Adventures:
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/100_1894.jpg
(apparently the guest sitting behind us was excited too)
We headed back down Main Street to City Hall to check in for the tour. Of course I was a nervous that something screwy was going to occur after the fiasco w/ the MNSSHP tickets, but no problems at all.
We got checked in and received a name badge and listening device. We picked out our lunch entrée and drink for later in the tour at CHH. We had some time to wait. I was regretting not bringing my scarf into the park this morning as my neck was chilly…so a last minute souvie purchase was made in a fashion lime green scarf (I’m a getting obsessed w/ my new favorite color)
Some of you may know that my dream WDW job is to be one of the tour guides and wear their swanky outfit. I decided to ask the Tour Hostess if she would pose w/ me for a picture and told her why. She had quite the chuckle and was flattered…no one has ever asked to pose w/ her before.
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/100_1897.jpg
Matt took some more of the festive MK decorations while we waited for the tour to begin:

I rushed to use the washroom one more time and the group had gathered to meet our guide and get to know each other…Everyone was getting their earpiece set and I was having the most difficult time trying to get it to fit comfortably around my ear…it’s kind of freaky but the top of my ears never quite developed right and trying to slip that curved plastic piece around it just wasn’t working…I had to hold it half the time w/ my hand or lay my sunglasses arm over it to hold it in place…
After the introductions and questions, which included “what is one of your earliest memories of WDW or favorite moment”
I shared how I remembered the World of Motion from EP as a child and loved that attraction. Matt shared how the first trip w/ our kids in 2005 was so special to him.
We headed up MS and the tour began…now I have a few pictures and a few tid bits to share…but I don’t want to spoil the fun for those who have never taken this tour and would like to some day. Let me say it was informative and interesting to a Disney fan like me…some things I knew and some things were told to me in a way I hadn’t heard before. Our guide was very good and we had a pretty good group of people who asked questions.
The tour did take up that full allotted time of just over 4 hours. We walked around MS, and a few other areas in the park, went on a few attractions and also got to go backstage and down in the utilidors. Of course you are sworn to secrecy and an oath you will not share any of the behind the scenes things we saw or take pictures…let me tell you it was quite tempting a few times to snap a picture a too.
One of the first things we talked about was how MK is set up like a show in a theatre as you stand outside and see the Train Station to entering the theatre and see the main star ahead of you…
We looked at several of the windows that pay homage to the people behind getting this park off the ground:
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/100_1898.jpg
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/100_1899.jpg
One of the first attractions we went on was the Jungle Cruise as our guide had worked as a skipper on this attraction for many years. He shared some personal stories and other secret behind the scene tidbits about the ride.

http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/100_1904.jpg
We talked a lot about official and unofficial Mickey’s throughout our tour and he basically said “if you think it’s a Hidden Mickey, then it’s a Hidden Mickey” some our real that were placed by the Imaginers and others are ones that the cast members have placed (like the set of 3 plates on the dining table in the Haunted Mansion) others are fan speculation…like this one as you exit the caverns on the JC…people say it’s a profile image of Mickey or Minnie:
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/100_1906.jpg
We also talked a lot about staging and how well the details are done, that you may notice it but aren’t always meant to. Like changes in pavement, music, lighting, etc from land to land…here is an example as we cross over from the hub into Adventureland…look closely(I wasn’t taking a picture of the garbage cans):
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/100_1910.jpg
One really cool thing he pointed out has to do w/ the Tiki Room building…I won’t tell you what it is, but next time your there reach up and touch it:
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/100_1909.jpg
At this point we went backstage for the first time:
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/100_1911.jpg
We got to see behind Splash Mountain and where they keep a lot of the floats. We also saw some CM’s rehearsing for the parades…so that was cool!
We wondered around into Liberty Square and chatted about this area for how the Imaginers really tried to keep the authenticity of the period accurate:
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/100_1912.jpg

http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/100_1918.jpg
He told us a secret about this window that during the evening parades a speaker is pushed out…I meant to check for it when we were just there in Jan. but forgot…
I had never noticed this detail before either:

Later in the tour it was time for our lunch break at CHH:
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/100_1915.jpg
As we were waiting for another tour group to finish up inside, I spotted these guests figuring out what to do next:
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/100_1914.jpg
I couldn’t help myself…but have a bit of giggle.
At lunch we all received our own Key to the Kingdom:
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/100_1916.jpg
I also had the Anchors Aweigh sandwich:
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/100_1917.jpg
We had a nice time chatting w/ some of the other guests and talking about our trips. I showed them some pictures from the Halloween Party of us dressed up too; they got a kick out of that. Plus the Tour Hostess was here helping w/ lunch and I showed her. She loved it.
One of the last pictures I took on the tour was of the windows from the Cinderella castle Suite:
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/100_1920.jpg
Wouldn’t it be so cool to look out on the park from up there. The end of tour included going in the ultidoors and a few other backstage areas. No we didn’t really see anything that blew your mind, but it was cool to go down there and see some of the areas and ways the CM’s get from to and from.
Overall the tour was really nice and I would definitely do it again once all our kids were old enough to go w/ us. It was a great way to finish up the main portion of our trip. For one final note about the tour…Matt wrote a pretend commentary about it…have a chuckle w/ this:;)
What I learned on the keys to the kingdom tour
Everyone who has been to the magic kingdom has seen the cable that runs from Cinderella’s castle towards tomorrowland. We have all heard the stories from cast members about how it is Cinderella’s laundry line or Prince Charming’s cable TV hook up. I’ve even heard the ridicules tale that Tinker Bell can’t really fly, but rides down this cable each night at the start of wishes!
But now I know the truth. The first hint comes from the direction the cable runs, right towards tomorrowland. But what is it for? The answer to that question, like many of the other secrets of the Magic Kingdom, lies underneath the part of the park that the guests ever see.
The next time you are at MK, cross the bridge into tomorrowland and right before you get your fast pass for Buzz Lightyear stop and take a look to your left. There is a ride there called “Stich’s Great Escape.” Yes, it really is still there. I didn’t believe it either until I saw it with my own eyes. You are probably asking the same question I did, “With great future based Disney properties like Wall-E, TRON, and Meet the Robinsons, which lend themselves so easily to interactive rides why are they wasting such prime real estate on such a stinker?
The answer, like any good Disney story, involves a handsome prince and a mad scientist. You see underneath this building that no one notices is the perfect location for Dr. Jumba to continue his ground breaking genetic research. His state of the art lab, which he was able to build with surprisingly little interference from crowds in the ride above, is staffed by a small group of Imagineers who he kidnapped and brainwashed (Strictly for convenience sake. Not because he is evil.) requires a massive amount of power to run, Which brings us back to the cable.
Because some galactic agencies insist on calling Jumba’s methods “Insane” and his experiments “Dangerously Unstable”, he needs to maintain a low profile. He needed to find a power source that would not be noticed. He figured Wishes uses massive amounts of power and they only really need it for about a half hour each night. He could use the power all day as long as he shut down for the night before the show. He just needed to run a power line from the castle. For that he was going to need a little help.
He went to the prince and told him that he could provide a top notch security system for the castle so that he would never worry about Cinderella’s safety again and that he would need to run a system control cable to his office to ensure proper operation. Fortunately for Jumba the prince was so excited to be doing something to protect his beloved that he didn’t run the idea by her before giving Him the OK. Cinderella is much quicker on the uptake and would have certainly pointed out the Disney World has more than enough security to keep them safe and even if they didn’t Jumba would probably not be the best choice for their security expert. There is a reason they call him Prince Charming and not Prince Brilliant.
So Jumba ran his cable and began work and no one is the wiser, although one of these days that attraction in the building above might suddenly get much more exciting.
Now that you know the truth let me leave you with two pieces of advice. First, if you happen to run into Jumba tell him you know about the lab but will not say anything if he buys you lunch. And second, if you go to lunch with Prince Charming, just pick up the tab. If you offer to go Dutch you will be there all afternoon while he tries to figure out what his portion of the bill is.
Word to this tale…ummm Matt wrote this tale after our trip while he was on some pretty good pain medication prior to his neck/spinal surgery…:rolleyes1

We finished up our day w/ going on a trip around the park on the train. We boarded at the MS station which is something I think we rarely ever do. We went up to the front car, not quite the first bench but pretty close and then some people sit right in front of us grrr

http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/IMG_3768.jpg
We circled around toward Frontierland, as we passed the one backstage area (street) we got to see a bunch of characters and CM’s getting ready for the afternoon parade:

http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/IMG_3767.jpg
We got off at the stop so I could go on BTMRR (I can’t remember if I had snagged a FP earlier in the day, but it wasn’t very busy at all w/ the crowds lining the streets for the parade. Matt had went to go grab a drink and we had missed each other as I came off before him…bummer he was waiting w/ his camera to get a picture of me on the train.
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/IMG_3817.jpg
We re-boarded a new train at the same station and rode the rest of the way around w/ still stopping at the now closed Toontown station, we snapped a few pictures:

http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/IMG_3772.jpg
As we made it back to MS, the parade was coming down toward us so we were able to grab a viewing spot from up there and watched most of the parade. We probably haven’t seen this parade since 2005, so it was fun to see the new floats and additions:

Almost at the end of the parade we headed back up MS to the Confectionery so we could grab some treats to go and a thank-you gift for my BIL for driving us to and from the airport.
The line for the fresh goodies was a little long and we didn’t want to be rushing back to CR to catch our DME bus around 5 (something?)…so we grabbed some pre wrapped goodies and said our final farewells to the Magic Kingdom…
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/100_1933-1.jpg
We had a nice walk back to the resorts and grabbed our carry-on luggage and sat in the comfy couches in the CR lobby till I’ll bus arrived. We each took a restroom break to freshen up and I got our bags organized better for the trip home.
The bus arrived on time and we headed back to MCO…we rested and just enjoyed the trip back. At the airport we dumbly remembered you don’t enter security straight away and we shouldn’t have thrown away that last DP or water bottle…oh well…
We grabbed some dinner in the food court area and chatted about our trip, going home and our future pipe dream of someday moving down here and wondering if we did retire and get a job would the allure of the Disney magic lose its affect? Or if any circumstances ever changed in our current living situation would we pack up and come down here? Hmmm not that we are but one never knows huh?
Our flight home was uneventful and we were glad we managed to get two seats together albeit they were in the last row w/ no leg room for Matt…but before we boarded and then part of the way home we looked at most of our vacation pictures that Matt had downloaded to his laptop…
We made it home early despite what they had originally thought and I snapped this last shot of Matt w/ our bags as we awaited our ride…

After years of dreaming and months of planning our 5 day romantic and fun getaway it was really just what we needed… :goodvibes
I loved planning this trip for just Matt and I and finding some new ways to do Disney!
It was a ton of fun meeting so many wonderful Disers this trip too.
Going down in the fall was just wonderful and we can’t wait to do it again. :thumbsup2
Some of our favorite moments were:
* Watching Hallo-wishes from our room
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/IMG_2947.jpg
* Enjoying some nice meals together at Narccoossee’s and the Derby
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/100_1605.jpg
* Leisurely spending time at Epcot
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/100_1554-1.jpg
* The tour

* Eating our way around the World at Food and Wine
http://i1102.photobucket.com/albums/g460/DizMama4/Anniversary%20trip%202011/100_1556-1.jpg
But I think our most favorite Memory of the whole trip just has to be the Halloween Party
We had a blast getting ready for it. We knew long before we even decided to go that the HM bride and groom would be the best costumes. It was such a wonderful, magical night for us, walking around and taking it all in, from the lights, sounds, fireworks and parade to all the guests’ reactions and enjoying being part of the magic in our own special way.

I just found your TR and read the whole thing in one sitting! We are taking our first October trip in several years and I've been looking all over for October TRs to get us ready. Absolutely loved this one, especially your MNSSHP costumes! How was the heat at night? We are thinking of doing the party this year but don't want to pick any costumes that will have us sweating all night. Your costumes were amazing! So funny that so many guests wanted pictures with you. :rotfl:
