Hello all my wonderful readers!!! I hope you enjoyed reading our PTR and will enjoy our TR :goodvibes

We visited WDW from October 16th to October 23rd. We stayed at POP Century resort...its by far our favorite Value resort. This was our first time checking out MNSSHP and Tim's first time doing Food & Wine festival...plus his first time there during fall. I have two favorite times at Disney...Fall time and Christmas time..so I was very excited to return during October :goodvibes

Let me introduce the characters of this TR in case you haven't read my PTR (If you want to read that there is a link in my signature, check it out :goodvibes)

Here is a picture before vacation

http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff238/shans4184/2011-06-26_00-03-32_537.jpg

My name is Shannon...27 years old...working for the state of VA. LOVE all things Disney!! After this trip HM has become my new favorite ride, I used to be terrified of it when I was younger!!

Tim is the cute guy in the picture :lovestruc ....26 years old...works in Child Protective Services for the state of VA. Which means he has a ton of patience. His favorite ride changes every couple minutes :rotfl: but one of his favorites all the time is HM which works out great :goodvibes

We met right here on the DISboards and this was our first trip to WDW together so we were so excited planning, doing theme nights, etc. :goodvibes I think we almost passed out from excitement when we actually made it to Disney property :rotfl:

Our trip was full of fun, but there was one moment that stuck out way above the rest, and that was the fact that Tim is no longer my DBF....but my DF!!!! :cool1:

http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff238/shans4184/2011-10-21_08-17-04_960.jpg

http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff238/shans4184/2011-10-21_08-17-09_23.jpg

Sorry its really difficult to take a picture of the ring and it was with my phone...so not the best quality (dont know why it looks like there some random black dot but there isnt :rotfl:) ....in person its beautiful and sparkly and just perfect (ok sorry I just couldn't believe what a good job Tim did picking it out and surprising me during the trip!!)

But anyway...I am getting ahead of myself, but honestly I couldn't wait until later in the TR to share the great news :goodvibes I will tell all about the proposal later on :goodvibes

We had such a hard time picking out a title for this TR...there were so many funny stories but difficult to translate into a title. The Vinylmation stalking was one that carried throughout the week and kept us laughing....also the side of sparkle is the engagement :goodvibes

I feel like this vacation was one we were super prepared for. Everything was packed and ready to go and I laid down in bed at 7 pm...and watched tv...and rolled around. I was exhausted from running 10 miles that morning...but could not fall asleep :confused3 Tim fell asleep right away when he went to bed a few hours later. I am not sure if I ever fell asleep or just laid there with my eyes closed :headache: Either way our alarm went off at 3 am

As tired as we were, once that alarm went off we were up and getting ready right away :thumbsup2 We left our condo and hit the road to Tim's parents house. We changed cars and Tim's dad drove us to the airport super early (I just like to get through security as soon as possible)

I swear we were the first people at our gate waiting

http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff238/shans4184/Trip%20Report%202011/SAM_0495.jpg

Very excited to get to Orlando :goodvibes

Our flight was quick and ordinary which is always a good thing for flying :goodvibes I slept a tiny bit and tried reading. We were landing before I knew it and racing off to our ME bus!!

This was the first time I have ever had a real wait for a bus, but about 15 or 20 minutes later we were on board and in the very first set of seats :rotfl:

http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff238/shans4184/Trip%20Report%202011/SAM_0496.jpg

http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff238/shans4184/Trip%20Report%202011/SAM_0497.jpg

Usually my ME bus ride is pretty boring, but this time around we were SOOOO excited and had some random guy behind us that kept us entertained.

Once the video started and it explained the check in process...the guy behind us started getting a little irritated (he was speaking to his wife during these conversations) about the fact that he didn't know about online check in. So he proceeds to call people back home to get his confirmation number and attempt to do online check in from his phone about 40 minutes away from arriving at his resort :rotfl: He became even more irritated once the characters in the video announced check in time is 3 pm :rotfl: He was so angry he couldn't get in his room earlier (which of course just depends on the room availability)

I don't know why, but we found this hilarious...I mean at that point theres really no use for online check in...but not according to this guy!!

Because we grabbed the first seat I got some great pictures of the entrance sign which made me very happy

http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff238/shans4184/Trip%20Report%202011/SAM_0500.jpg

http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff238/shans4184/Trip%20Report%202011/SAM_0501.jpg

Random guy's wife starts taking pictures and he says "We've been here 4 times the last 3 years and now you want a picture of the sign" How come idiots like this get to go that often (plus he was staying at AKL which I was jealous of :lmao:)

We stopped at Caribbean Beach to drop off a few guests, during which the guy became irritated for some reason and mumbled something to himself. We both started laughing...Tim was certain he said "Jesus Walt" but I disagree I am pretty sure he said "Eagle Vault" Neither make sense but I was crying I was laughing so hard :rotfl2:

We were off to POP! and I was in a great mood :thumbsup2

Four visits in three years and no idea about on-line check-in?:confused3 I'd hate to see how much that guy and his wife are missing at the parks if they are unaware about something as basic as check-in. :rotfl:

From everything I've been reading on here, I am so excited to go during the Fall! It looks like so much fun!!

Wedding planning can be completely stressful, but it always works itself out, and the end product is truly wonderful!:wizard: I hope you have a great time planning everything out!

Congratulations on the engagement! Now the fun part of planning the wedding begins.

You know some people just need to feel the magic. Why start complaining as soon as you get on the bus? It's vacation for goodness sake. I guess the guy behind you really needed a sprinkling of pixie dust.

Either way our alarm went off at 3 am

A trip to WDW is the ONLY reason to ever get up that early! :thumbsup2

Do I dare tell this guy that my online check-in took longer than the people who were in the regular line? :rotfl2:

Random guy's wife starts taking pictures and he says "We've been here 4 times the last 3 years and now you want a picture of the sign"

Come on, dude. It's pretty much a law that you have to take pictures of the sign. You might not know this, but there's a pretty big castle in the Magic Kingdom, and we're gonna take pictures of that too.

Tim was certain he said "Jesus Walt"

He was just talking about 2 of my favorite people! :thumbsup2

I really want to do Christmas again at WDW...but I think fall has to be my favorite time of year there

So far it has been fun planning, but I am sure there were be plenty of stressful moments...thankfully Tim is patient :rotfl:

I know he needed a little pixie dust to get him in the right mood...maybe when he got to AKL he was ok :goodvibes

Well after our fun adventures on the ME bus we pulled into POP! and Tim was the first one off the bus…I was second! :rotfl: I took my time with our bags and Tim went straight to the Online Check In line to get us all set…we were the first people in the line and no one was waiting there when we came into the lobby, just a few people in the regular check in line. I wish I could remember the name of the CM who helped us, because he was so sweet. He went out of his way to get us a room that was ready right then and one with a King bed…we were very excited and didn’t expect to have a room ready this early!

He gave me a carnation too and I was so excited!! Off we were to find our room…which sadly was one of the farthest rooms from most of the resort :rotfl: but that’s ok, we were so excited!! We were in the 90’s section…I made Tim take a picture of me with my flower and our room number

http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff238/shans4184/Trip%20Report%202011/SAM_0503.jpg

We dropped our carry on bags in the room and were very excited to see a very clean and nice room at our home away from home..ahhh arriving at Disney is awesome!!:goodvibes

Next stop DTD!! I was starving and ready to eat!! We brought a few Vinylmations with us as well, this was our first trip with trading Vinylmations and were excited to see if it lived up to our excitement!

We traded our Vinylmations for the very first time at the pin store thats at DTD...I dont remember each and every one we got during our trading...but there were some great ones we kept and some ones that we saw over and over again...I do know one thing for sure we were hooked on trading!!

I stopped along the way and took a picture of the Lego store...I was excited to see new Lego characters that were not there last time I visited

http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff238/shans4184/Trip%20Report%202011/SAM_0504.jpg

We ate at Pollo Campero and it was yummmmmy :goodvibes

I of course forgot to take pictures of the food...I got fried chicken with tortilla chips as my side and Tim got chicken strips and I cannot for the life of me remember what he had for his side. They had tons of dipping sauces and a salsa bar (I LOVEEEEE to try different sauces its weird but Tim understands :rotfl:)

After we ate our lunch we walked over to D Street to check out more Vinylmations!

Cool big pumpkin at DTD

http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff238/shans4184/Trip%20Report%202011/SAM_0505.jpg

After checking out awesome D Street we took a bus back to POP! When we arrived back to our room our luggage was there! I was very excited...Disney magic was hitting me already we had a room ready when we arrived and our bags were quick!!

I unpacked the signs my mom helped me make and hung them in our window

Who could it be?

Sounds like a great time at DTD. It only takes one trade to be hooked on Vinylmations, and D Street is a perfect spot.
I love your window decorations, especially your Mickey head border.

Can't wait to hear about MNSSHP.

Coming over from archdandy's PTR. I love engagement/disneymoon trip reports. Your signs are so cute!

I didn't know they gave out flowers! Is that normal at Pop (never been there)? Or just a random thing?

The Lego statues are probably my favorite thing about Downtown Disney.

I have no idea HOW I missed your first updates -- the ride on the ME bus. I have to tell you I was cracking up and rolling my eyes at the same time. I think the guy was full of himself and obviously had never been on the DIS to know all that we know.

I love that your room was ready for you when you arrived and you were able to head over to DTD. How sweet they gave you a flower. :goodvibes

Ok, I typed up a reply earlier and lost it when our internet went out:headache:, so let's try this again....

I love Pop, and actually we've stayed at the far reaches in the 90's on the third floor... Probably not a room I'd request, but it was actually kind of nice being all the way out there. It was preaceful at least. I'll always be a little less picky if they're going to put me in an available room right away.:thumbsup2

DTD looks like it was fun. I still haven't bought any vinylmations, but that may be an investment I'll have to make in a couple of weeks.:rolleyes1

I'm looking forward to the MNSSHP update and I have no idea who was at the door, so I'll go with the safest guess and say mousekeeping.:confused3

I probably built up the knock at the door to be a lot more exciting than it was :rotfl:

It was the Disney Florist with a delivery!! For Tim :goodvibes I picked out a nice Halloween gift to surprise him with! We are terrible with surprises so I did catch him off guard with this one which was very fun :thumbsup2 I ordered him a Halloween Mickey - he is decked out in RnR gear

http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff238/shans4184/2011-11-11_11-39-36_425.jpg

Plus the Hidden Mickey book and a set of ears (not pictured here) and Halloween rice crispy treats in the shape of candy corn and mickey ears (not pictured - we snacked on these early in the trip and I forgot to get a picture :headache:)

I was so happy that I was able to surprise Tim I was pretty proud of myself (little did I know at that time he had a surprise of his own) :rotfl:

I forgot to mention while we were at DTD we spotted a guest services area and went in to get our MNSSHP tickets which we paid for and had waiting at will call. I also upgraded my ticket to an Annual Pass :cool1: I was so excited!! Plus we purchased the Tables in Wonderland card to save money on our food :thumbsup2

After our surprise we finished getting ready and were off to MK for the party...we were there right before 4 and there was a line to get in. Once we were in we noticed right away that Mickey had no line for his meet and greet area..we went to say hello :goodvibes

I really want to do Christmas again at WDW...but I think fall has to be my favorite time of year there

So far it has been fun planning, but I am sure there were be plenty of stressful moments...thankfully Tim is patient :rotfl:

I would absolutely LOVE to go to WDW around Christmas time!! I think that's what DH and I are planning to do in 2013!! I've heard nothing but good things about it, and it would just be even more magical that DW already is!:wizard:

It is a whole lot of fun planning out your wedding! My favorite part was picking out the cake!:thumbsup2 haha (and of course the honeymoon destination! lol) I hope your planning continues to go well!

Thank you :goodvibes I was trying so hard to surprise him, the gift didn't really matter, just the fact that he was surprised was awesome!!

The shirts are adorable!

Presents are exciting! Especially when they include books and food :) I didn't realize the Florists delivered such un-flower-y gifts! Were they the regular ears or halloween themed as well?

The ears were just the standard Mickey ones...but they have soooo many different options on their webpage and can personalize it by switching out things or adding things...really cool stuff!! :goodvibes

That was so sweet of you to get a surprise present for Tim. Very thoughtful!

What better way to start the Halloween Party than to see the man of the hour, himself? And you guys both look so excited and happy in the picture. Now I can't wait to hear how the party went.

It was so nice to have shirts instead of full out costumes, though I really admired the costumes people put together!!

Looks like a nice gift for Tim...and I'm glad you pulled off the surprise! He'd better get his act together if he's going to top that. :rolleyes1:rotfl:

I figured hey why not do a mini life update...we have been having lots of fun lately so why not share that - plus most of it is Disney related :thumbsup2

Our friends took us out recently wine tasting around different vineyards in VA to celebrate our engagement

http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff238/shans4184/373773_2254319168895_1575780043_32411957_543803009 _n.jpg

Last weekend I ran a half marathon in Richmond and Tim was nice enough to brave the cold to take pictures and cheer me on!! I am training for the marathon in WDW in January :goodvibes

http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff238/shans4184/383333_10100507377114672_68107414_50139496_9063776 70_n.jpg

After the half marathon...we went to a DISmeet here in Virginia and got to meet Pete Werner - the host of Disunplugged Podcast and such a sweet man in person!! He took time to talk with us about our wedding and his recent trip to Aulani, plus we got to meet other DIS people in our area :thumbsup2 Also the meet was to raise money for Give Kids the World :goodvibes

Pete holds a special place in our heart, because his podcast talked about the singles threads here on the DISboards, which Tim heard and in turn posted something. Which I found a few months later...and thats how we ended up together. Plus during the podcast 5th anniversary show they read Tim's email about his plan to propose :goodvibes he played it for me during our trip after the proposal of course :rotfl: and it was so sweet it made me cry!!

Heres a pic of us with Pete:

http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff238/shans4184/dis.jpg

We have actually been having a lot of fun planning our wedding. We decided against a traditional wedding, so next September we are getting married here (with different decor)

http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff238/shans4184/pic_beach.jpg

The beach area of Swan and Dolphin :goodvibes

We knew right away a Disney Cruise was our honeymoon choice. So that brought us to Florida :goodvibes We looked at Disney weddings and they are restrictive about the number of people for small weddings...so even though their venues are beautiful it didn't work for us....plus I have always wanted to get married on the beach...so there you have it, still Disney property and a beach all together!:goodvibes

We are only inviting some immediate family and close friends trying to stay under 50 people total ..very laid back!

I am SO excited...plus while we are on the cruise our family and friends are taking this opportunity to have vacations after the wedding in Disney World :goodvibes

...I promise I will do a trip update asap :goodvibes

I can't believe you're training for the marathon in January! :scared1: I still haven't completed the Couch to 5K! My goal for next year is to complete it and run a 5K in Disney World. I'd really love to do the Royal Family 5K, since it's in Epcot, but I'm not sure I'll be able to get down there in Feb. :sad2:

That's so cool that you got to meet the Podcast guy! I admit, I know nothing about the podcasts! :rolleyes1 I love that you and Tim met on the DISboards! :thumbsup2

AHHH I'm so jealous you're getting married in Disney! Aren't the actual Disney weddings ridiculous? I was thinking of doing an Escape wedding, and I looked into it and priced it and everything, but it was just way too much money for like 10 people. :sad2: I looked into the Swan and Dolphin too, it looks like you're going to have a beautiful location! :woohoo:

Shannon, that is so cool that you got to meet Pete and that you're planning to marry at the Swan and Dolphin. It's such a beautiful resort, and DFTWs are ridiculously expensive! Especially if you have to invite more than 10-20 people. Besides, at the Swan, you and Tim are still going to be getting that Disney feel. A cruise is such a nice honeymoon choice. Perfect way to follow up a wedding at WDW. :thumbsup2

I'm cheering you on (mentally) for your WDW marathon in January. That just seems like such a long distance; I always have instant respect for anyone who's competed in one. Being an amateur runner, you guys have such a strong dedication and personal motivation to train and prepare for something like that. :worship:

We will be arriving Thur. September 20th and the wedding itself is Friday September 21st :goodvibes We would love to meet you and say hello, when are you guys going to be down there?

Ugh, I have to start the Couch to 5K soon, too. and, hey, if you need more time to train, there's always the Expedition Everst 5K in May...:rolleyes1

I'm cheering you on (mentally) for your WDW marathon in January. That just seems like such a long distance; I always have instant respect for anyone who's competed in one. Being an amateur runner, you guys have such a strong dedication and personal motivation to train and prepare for something like that. :worship:

Thank you so much :goodvibes Really though I need to stop and start fresh with the couch to 5k plan or something, because I swear most people can walk faster than I run :lmao: I usually do a walk/run, because I can't actually run longer than 6 or 7 miles without a walk break.

I have been having so much fun planning the wedding so far, but now I am impatient waiting for the year to go by :rotfl:

That's nice of your friends to take you wine tasting - looks like you had a great day! :thumbsup2

Wow at running a half marathon!! :worship: I did a 5k a while ago and that was enough!

Love that you got to meet Pete and he took time out to speak to the both of you about the wedding :goodvibes

Having the wedding at the beach area of Swan and Dolphin sounds like an excellent idea! It looks so pretty :lovestruc

I said the same thing after my first 5k...so you never know!! :goodvibes

Thank you, we are very excited about our location...fingers crossed it won't rain, if it does we have a nice back up location inside the resort

I love the location for the wedding! That is just so beautiful. What a great idea. It's going to be awesome. :lovestruc

That's the kind of wedding that I would like too. Laid back, small, not too much fuss. Just perfect. And a Disney Cruise for the honeymoon?

Thank you :goodvibes we are a very laid back couple and I get a little flustered when there are too many variables so this is perfect!

I like your idea for the wedding location. :thumbsup2 Plans look great!

That's cool that you got to go to the Dis meet and meet Pete. I'm sure he probably appreciated the story of how his podcast tied into the two of you meeting and getting engaged.

Thank you :goodvibes its been fun planning!!

He was such a nice guy and it was fun to meet DIS people in our area!

We actually have set a date already, I know that was pretty quick lol but we decided on next September 21st 2012...I cannot wait!!

I'm subbing in. Your TR looks great so far! I'm pretty new at DIS, but I already love it and am totally hooked :thumbsup2

Love your wedding date....we were married Sept 21, 2002. So we will be celebrating our 10th anniversary in Disney while you are getting married :cool1:

Your ring is gorgeous! Even though it was a very long time ago, I still remember days of just sitting there watching the sunlight glitter off my new ring

Congrats and can't wait to hear more about the trip and the wedding!

When I left off Tim was blinded by the flash of 25 pictures in 5 seconds...so I decided it was probably time to ride some rides...but not before I snapped a few pictures on our way

http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff238/shans4184/Trip%20Report%202011/SAM_0516.jpg

Of course I have to have a new castle pic each year

http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff238/shans4184/Trip%20Report%202011/SAM_0517.jpg

With Space Mountain fastpasses in hand we walked towards HM. We got caught up checking out all different details and looking at the Fantasyland construction. We rode Snow Whites ride and went to check out the castle up close

Somehow we ended up back in the hub and walking towards Liberty Square finally...but someone caught my eye with no line

http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff238/shans4184/Trip%20Report%202011/Photo0067FourBySix.jpg

http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff238/shans4184/Trip%20Report%202011/Photo0069FourBySix.jpg

He said Princess Tiana would be returning soon...I wish we had seen them together, but by himself Naveen was very charming and spent a while just talking with us since there was no one else in line

Here he is cracking us up, I wish I remember what he was saying

http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff238/shans4184/Trip%20Report%202011/Photo0064FourBySix.jpg

Finally we made it to HM :goodvibes
We were so excited to check out the new interactive queue and it did not disappoint!! I loved all the additions, it was so fun to walk through that area!! It seemed like most people were walking that line too so it was a little crowded, but thats ok

http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff238/shans4184/Trip%20Report%202011/SAM_0525.jpg

Tim was yelling at me to put the camera away and just play with the interative things :rotfl:

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this ride...since Tim enjoys reading books about WDW Imagineering he pointed out details I had always overlooked and we really enjoyed the new ending, very cool!

When we exited the ride it was starting to get dark out

http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff238/shans4184/Trip%20Report%202011/SAM_0527.jpg

We found Mr. Toad in the back of the pet cemetary, though hes too far back to see in my picture

These were photos I told Tim I had to have from seeing others reports, I love the ghosts added in :goodvibes

I dont need to take up acting any time soon, Tim has it down way better than me as seen in the pictures!! When the photographer told us to do the scared faces, she said "Look scared theres ghosts" and this little kid screamed right behind her...I think he was screaming at something else but he sounded truly terrified and the timing was hilarious

Off we went to use our Space Mountain fastpasses!!

First off: CONGRATS! How exciting... and such a lovely ring!!!!:lovestruc

As for the 'overheard' conversation, that is absolutely hilarious. I am grateful every time I hear something like that for my DH, who loves Disney and doesn't feel that it is 'beneath' him.

(You totally know that guy ended up cracking a smile at some point... probably came home wearing a set of Mickey Ears!!!)

I was really bummed on our trip that we didn't get to check out D Street, apparently they had a massive power outage in DTD the day we went, and all the shops along the waterfront were closed! Boo.

I swear there is something about a picture of the Virginia Piedmont that you just KNOW what you're looking at. Which wineries did you go to? We're actually heading down tomorrow for a weekend at Barboursville and are thinking about trying some new places in C'vill / south this weekend. Any suggestions?:goodvibes

I love when you're able to spend one-on-one time with the characters; it makes you feel special and adds a little pixie dust to your night.

I agree, the new HM queue is very cool. However, I've only been through it once, because Alex is always anxious to get on the ride. Since the hitchhiking ghosts have been added at the end, it's become his favorite dark ride at WDW.

I don't think you made bad scary faces, and besides, it just gives you something to build on for future MNSSHPs!

I love the Haunted Mansion magic pictures. They're kinda cool, kinda scary.

How odd that they left Naveen out there by his lonesome! I always wonder how the characters act differently when they meet children vs. adults, is it sometimes nice to talk with adults more one-on-one instead of a huge long line of kids? It must be very exhausting to be that perky to all those kids! But I guess some adults would be more nit-picky about the character?

Castle and balloon pictures are classics. New ones are imperative. :)

I guess my scared face is just putting my hands up to my face :rotfl:

I love when you're able to spend one-on-one time with the characters; it makes you feel special and adds a little pixie dust to your night.

I agree, the new HM queue is very cool. However, I've only been through it once, because Alex is always anxious to get on the ride. Since the hitchhiking ghosts have been added at the end, it's become his favorite dark ride at WDW.

I don't think you made bad scary faces, and besides, it just gives you something to build on for future MNSSHPs!

It really was nice to not be rushed through a picture with Naveen, instead we got the full experience!

I was really anxious to get on it at first, but it was fun to check out the different features!

I need to practice scared faces for next time!! :rotfl:

Nice pictures! I can't wait to see the new HM additions.

I have to agree--Tim is a very good actor! :thumbsup2

He may have a new career to look into if he gets sick of social work!

Shannon, I love the latest update. The pictures at the HM are terrific. You look great, but Tim's reactions are outstanding!

Thank you :goodvibes I can imagine his ego growing reading all these compliments :rotfl:

Those PP are so good!! I love the ones with the ghosts in them...they are too cute!

I forgot to mention in my last post how much I loved your shirts!!

Thank you :goodvibes I wish we had a reason to wear them again here!!

Great pictures! That's great that you guys get so into the spirit of the pictures. It looks like you're really having a lot of fun.

Thank you :goodvibes we had such a good time at the party, but the travel and lack of sleep started to creep up on us that night!

Thank you!! I feel like Sleeping Beauty is one I have a hard time interacting with, but Naveen was awesome!

I love you HM Photopass pics! They look awesome! I'm bummed though because I didn't know about the hitchhiking ghosts one! I so wish I would have gotten that one too!

Also, how far into the trip is the engagement? I'm getting so anxious waiting to here how he proposed!

Thank you :goodvibes when I decided to pre purchase the photopass cd I did major research where the magic shots would be!

Its pretty far into the trip, but I did start a wedding planning report on the wedding section of the Disboards that tells all about it if you want a peek!!

We went over to Tomorrowland to use our Space Mountain fastpasses. There was no line at all on the fastpass side:goodvibes

When we got up to the CM telling you which spot to go into they were just amazed by our Mike and Sulley shirts, I felt so cool getting extra attention for tshirts! We got the 2 first seats and Tim was nice enough to let me sit in the very first seat. This was the first time I have ridden very first on Space Mountain!! It was AWESOME!! I think there is not other seat than the first after you have been in that one its hard to ride further back!

Once we left Tomorrowland we made our way to Big Thunder Mountain Railroad...there was only a couple minute line so of course we had to ride! I have never been on this ride during the night time. It is a whole different ride at night! All of the extra things are animated and lit up during the dark, it really comes to life! I wish I had taken some pictures, but I promised Tim that I would just enjoy the rides, I am glad that I did! :goodvibes

I convinced Tim that you never really get wet on Splash Mountain, just a splash of water! Well of course we get a log pretty much to ourselves and of course we are in the front seat. I LOVE that ride, I just wish there was no splash at all (I know I know thats the purpose of the ride :rotfl:), well anyway we ended up SOAKED!:headache: I have never had such a tidle wave on that ride! We took a peek at the seven dwarfs out meeting guests, they looked so cool!! Too bad the line was over an hour long to meet them!

As we were leaving Splash we saw the parade was starting soon. We shoved our way into the large crowd (don't worry not in front of others, just had to make our way through strollers left empty in the way) We found a pretty good spot right where the parade begins. We were able to see the headless horseman ride, which was something Tim really was looking forward to. He moves too quickly and honestly I just wanted to enjoy it, so again no pictures – sorry!!

I did snap a few pictures of floats that went by…sorry not great quality

This was one of my favorite parades ever, I LOVED the music and kept singing it throughout our trip. We were well into the parade and watching the villains pass by…when something peculiar happened…something that even surprised the CMs working the parade..

Back to the parade...we were dancing along to "Boo to you" enjoying the different floats...we loved the Hauned Mansion ghosts and villains :thumbsup2

Just as Goofy's candy truck was coming from off stage (what I believe is the last float)...the parade well...just stopped abruptly :confused3

We kept hearing the same music loop over and over again...then we noticed villains from several floats gone by were walking back towards us, waving and heading off stage. As well there were non costumed cast members heading on stage down the parade route past us

The non costumed cast members tried to distract the crowd with clapping and singing to the music...but there was obviously something unusual happening!

Without any true ending to the parade...the floats were moved back off stage and cast members informed us the parade was over. We later found out the brakes had gone out on one of the floats and some costumed cast members had to jump off their float and walk back past us (hence the villains coming past us) This is the first time either of us have ever heard of something like this happening during a parade...it was really random!!

Since we pretty much saw 99% of the parade we did not return to the see the second parade later in the evening...we still really enjoyed it as well!!

Once all that excitement was over we headed over (still soaked) to Pirates!!!

I thought this was a pretty cool picture spot

http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff238/shans4184/Trip%20Report%202011/Photo0083FourBySix.jpg

After our fun ride visiting pirates...we headed to the hub area to check out the Villain's Mix and Mingle show...we ended up getting a spot very close to the stage. It was a good spot, plus we were first in line to meet one of the villains!! :goodvibes

The best part is we were stuck in the middle of a large crowd when the parade stopped..so we didn't know what to do :rotfl:

Rides like Big Thunder are so fun at night! I think it's because it's harder to see the tracks and everything; though I love that they light up the fossil, etc.

How neat to get so close to the stage. I hope you met Facilier, he's my favorite of the ones that were available to meet (also, no weird mask).

I loved Dr. Facilier in person!! We had watched Princess and the Frog during one of our theme nights and both loved it :thumbsup2 He was larger than life in person and I am so glad we were able to meet him!!

We didn’t have time to get in line and meet any of the other villains from the show…but since we were already in the hub area we found some more awesome characters to meet.

I LOVED Gaston he was so funny, when Tim said it was great to meet him, he replied “The pleasure is all yours” :lmao:
Since Beauty and the Beast is my favorite princess movie this was one of my favorites to meet

http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff238/shans4184/Trip%20Report%202011/Photo0096FourBySix.jpg

Love the expressions!!

We started to wait in line for another set of characters when they had to leave for a break. Since we were already in a great spot we stayed there to watch HalloWishes. I didn’t take any firework pictures, because I promised this year I would just take in the moments and also our camera does not take great night time or fireworks pictures. I really enjoyed this version of the fireworks and the music

Right after the fireworks ended some of Tim’s favorite gals showed back up...someone walked through our picture and Lady Tremaine yelled out "No, no don't worry we aren't taking pictures here"

http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff238/shans4184/Trip%20Report%202011/SAM_0546.jpg

http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff238/shans4184/Trip%20Report%202011/SAM_0547.jpg

After we had met our share of villains we returned to Tomorrowland...we didn't go in this attraction...but I made Tim stop for a picture just because of our shirts

http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff238/shans4184/Trip%20Report%202011/SAM_0548.jpg

We made it on Buzz after waiting a while, something was wrong with some of the vehicles and they had to cycle the ride a few times...luckily our ride went smoothly and we were very into it obviously...

http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff238/shans4184/Trip%20Report%202011/SAM_0550.jpg

This poor ride...I tried to convince Tim it was awesome but it could seriously use a rehab on the ride vehicles especially

We rode Space Mountain again...the CM was the same one from earlier and was excited to see our shirts again...he made us feel special...Tim got to ride in the front this time and loved it :thumbsup2 After we left that ride we stumbled into a dance party with Stitch and Chip and Dale...we danced with them and had a great time :goodvibes

http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff238/shans4184/Trip%20Report%202011/SAM_0551-1.jpg

At this point we were both exhausted from the long day and running around the party...we saw that Tiana was out with Naveen and I just stared for a few minutes before Tim realized I was just out of it and staring off into space :rotfl:

We took a few more pictures on our way out and headed back to POP and I had to show off all the border options :goodvibes

http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff238/shans4184/Trip%20Report%202011/Photo0102FourBySix.jpg

At some point we decided to check out some of the empty candy lines during the night...I just remembered when Tim reminded me to add that in, plus you can see Tim was carrying around a bag with candy for us :thumbsup2 There were tons of great candy options...I have read some complaints in the boards about the candy...but there were name brands and they gave us plenty even though we were adults alone. On our way out for the night they give you more candy :goodvibes

I know it was busy in the bus area...but didn't take us too long to get back to the resort and we fell asleep right away

Yay for Facilier! Definitely my favorite out of the ones available to meet, though Gaston or the Tremaines (but they're available other places..) would be fun. I think that, over all, Princess and the Frog has some of the best meet and greets (followed closely by Tangled and Peter Pan, but they have fewer characters out).

I love the Buzz Lightyear ride so much, even the slight disrepair is forgivable because it evens the playing field between my boyfriend and I (he's a way better marksman so slightly wonky cars means we're both aiming blindly!).

Space Stitch! For all that people complain about Stitch being everywhere, I didn't see him at all on our trip. I was sad since he looks so plush and huggable! :)

Ahhh Gaston! *swoons* :lovestruc Beauty and the Beast is one of my favorite movies as well and I love Gastons song in it! It sounds like you guys had a great time at the party. I can't wait to go for the first time next fall.

That would be fun to get to meet with some of the villains like that. MNSSHP looks like a great experience. It is on the bucket list! :thumbsup2 :rotfl2:

How much candy did you end up getting???

You must do MNSSHP...I think we may try and do it again next year!!

We only hit up 2 candy lines and then the people on the way out..and we ended up with a half full bag of candy...I bet on busier nights its tougher to get more candy but we had enough for each of us to eat a couple pieces every night before bed :thumbsup2

Looks like alot of fun! Do they always do the villains show, or is it just for Halloween? Would love to meet some of them :)

The villains show is just during the halloween party...I think they have certain villains like the evil step sisters out during different times

The Princess and the Frog does have great meet and greets...all the characters from the movie have really big personalities!!

Tim kept spinning the cars to throw me off...he didnt need to try that hard I dont have good aim :rotfl: I LOVE stitch...we did see him a lot during our trip

Even after being up since 4 am or however early we decided to get up for the airport..traveling..DTD and MNSSHP...we still were up bright and early for EPCOT the next day! We were excited to have our first full day at the parks. We had breakfast at POP and headed out to get there for rope drop...they did a sort of countdown and confetti and let us through the entrance. We headed over to Soarin' first...it was a mess of people since there wasn't a rope drop inside the park. We got fastpasses for later and went right into the stand by entrance.

This was Tim's first time on the ride and we got second row...I was really hoping for first row. Tim really enjoyed it a lot and I was happy to hear that because that ride just makes me smile...it really just relaxes me and makes me happy!! After Soarin' we headed over to Test Track and ended up riding that stand by without much of a wait. This was Tim's first time on this ride...ok well thats pretty much the truth for all of EPCOT...he has never really toured EPCOT before...shocking!! We LOVED our ride on Test Track in the front row...though our picture looks like we are bored

We decided to head over to the Food and Wine festival which opened up at 11 a.m.

On our way to the World Showcase we saw this huge cranberry bog...so cool!! There was always someone in there working and answering questions

http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff238/shans4184/Trip%20Report%202011/SAM_0552.jpg

I also made Tim check out Club Cool...which he had never been to before! Of course he does lots of Disney research so he has heard of Beverly :headache: but he still was a good sport and tried it :thumbsup2

http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff238/shans4184/Trip%20Report%202011/SAM_0554.jpg

The first thing we tried at the Food and Wine festival was at the Hawaii booth, the Kalua Pork Slider with Sweet and Sour Dole Pineapple Chutney and Spicy Mayonnaise. We enjoyed it SOOO much that we forgot to take a picture...it was sooooo good!! probably my favorite item from the entire festival!

After the pork slider we made our way to Ireland where I ordered the Kerrygold Cheese Selection and Tim ordered the Lobster and Scallop Fisherman's pie...both were so yummy!! I was so excited we were picking such great items to try!

http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff238/shans4184/Trip%20Report%202011/SAM_0555.jpg

In France Tim tried the escargot which he LOVED and I got us slushies - grand marnier and cosmo -they melted quickly...but we handled that well :thumbsup2 I think I liked the Grand Marnier the best and Tim liked the Cosmo a little better

http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff238/shans4184/Trip%20Report%202011/SAM_0556.jpg

Here is Tim being cheesy in Japan

http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff238/shans4184/Trip%20Report%202011/SAM_0557.jpg

Tim ordered the spicy Tuna sushi in Japan...I ordered the Tuna sensation there was tuna and salmon with avocado with a soy sauce yum again!

http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff238/shans4184/Trip%20Report%202011/SAM_0558.jpg

Up next- MORE food and wine...plus more EPCOT!! And our dinner at Le Cellier :thumbsup2

Please note Tim is wearing a shirt that says Friday on this day even though it was Monday because he thought that would be funny, but I didn't want to confuse you guys :rotfl:

Hmm, not sure how I missed your Christmas eve update...anyway

GASP! DR. FACILIER!!! That's amazing! I had no idea he was in the parks! And I love that Gaston was out too. That's my hubbby's favorite villian. In fact, his DIS member name is Gaston something...can't remember he only posted like 3 times :lmao:

Glad to hear he liked Soarin'. I completely understand what you mean by relaxing. The sights and smells of the ride is so comforting and it gives you a break from all the rushing about in the park. It's a good breather ride.

Mmm, the tuna sensation looks SENSATIONAL!....bear with me, i'm tired :rotfl:

I'd be exhausted after that first day. I'd definitely still make myself get up and be at rope drop but I'd be tired. I hope it doesn't catch up with you later in the week.

The front row on Test Track is the best. Though I was kind of disappointed that they took away the brick wall (I think? I seem to remember a brick wall and it wasn't there when we rode).

We didn't do Club Cool; we've gone to the Coke place in Atlanta and have heard that Club Cool doesn't really compare at all. Is there other things in there besides the soda machines? Maybe I'll just save it for a Food and Wine trip to truly get the international snack experience :rotfl:

So Tim didn't like the Beverly? :rotfl: Glad he tried it for you, even knowing it wouldn't be good!

Dr. Facilier was really spooky in person, loved him!! I think he is only out during MNSSHP...not sure though. Gaston is hilarious in person...Tim and I actually met through the disboards but he mostly lurks and doesn't post :rotfl:

I know I really hit him with the good stuff right away that morning!! I don't know why but I tried Beverly again too..ick!!

It really caught up with us later in the week...but the crowds grew as the week went on, so it was a good decision to do all the big stuff first thing in the trip

The front row on Test Track is the best. Though I was kind of disappointed that they took away the brick wall (I think? I seem to remember a brick wall and it wasn't there when we rode).

So it seems like I have fallen off the face of the Earth, but I am ready to kick this TR back in gear and hope I still have readers :thumbsup2

I wanted to do a quick update or two on my most recent trip and then get back into my trip with Tim :goodvibes

My mom and I arrived in WDW on Friday January 6th and I was greeted at POP Century by a wonderful friend I have made through the disboards wedding section. We have become great friends over text messages, phone calls, etc. and it was so great to meet her in person!! MrsDuck (Faith)

http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff238/shans4184/marathon%20trip/SAM_0350.jpg

We chatted for a while, our moms got along great as well! Its nerve racking meeting someone for the first time after talking online or on the phone, but it was like we had known each other for years :goodvibes

After we sadly had to say goodbye to Faith and her mom...we checked in and the CM was awesome. She helped my mom purchase an AP :goodvibes since we will be back in September for the wedding it made the most sense. They offered us a room with a king bed (of course when you dont want it) but we asked for two double beds. We were in building 1 in room 1234, gotta love it :thumbsup2

We were watched over every night by Lady

http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff238/shans4184/marathon%20trip/SAM_0504.jpg

I really liked the 50's section, we were close to the lobby and food and busses...also it was very quiet where we were. The housekeeping was sub par, but thats ok we dealt fine with it

After we were settled in, we headed over to WWoS to get my race packet at the expo. Holy craziness it was PACKED!! very hectic, but I got my packet, saw my running hero Jeff Galloway (far right) and bought a ton of gear including a vinylmation and t shirt

http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff238/shans4184/marathon%20trip/SAM_0353.jpg

Finally after stopping at the resort again we were on our way to AK, by this time it was around 3 pm. I was excited to see the Christmas decorations still up

http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff238/shans4184/marathon%20trip/SAM_0359.jpg

http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff238/shans4184/marathon%20trip/SAM_0360.jpg

http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff238/shans4184/marathon%20trip/SAM_0361.jpg

We headed straight to the safari, because even though AK was open until 7 all the animal related things were only open until 445 pm :headache:

It was an awesome safari, I got to see the hippos outside of the water, and the lion was pacing waiting for dinner. It was cool doing the safari at that time, because usually I do it first thing in the morning

http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff238/shans4184/marathon%20trip/SAM_0366.jpg

http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff238/shans4184/marathon%20trip/SAM_0376.jpg

Once we made it through the safari they were closing most of the other animal areas :sad2: but we were fine with it, we knew we would be back soon in September. We walked around and enjoyed the park

We got to meet some awesome friends, my mom loves Eeyore

http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff238/shans4184/marathon%20trip/SAM_0385.jpg

I got her to go on Dinosaur too!!! My mom hates anything rollercoaster related or anything too crazy...she hates drops so this was a tough sell because what feels like tiny drops to me bother her and this has little ones. We were in the front and she loved it!! She thought the ride was well designed, a lot of fun, and she was so proud of herself and said she would do it again!! Success!!

Our second day was DHS...I didnt realize when planning there was EMH that morning starting at 8 am...we arrived around 8:30 and there was hardly a line for TSM so we got fastpasses and rode that standby.

http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff238/shans4184/marathon%20trip/SAM_0391.jpg

http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff238/shans4184/marathon%20trip/SAM_0392.jpg

My mom said this her favorite ride out of every Disney ride :goodvibes we were laughing so hard trying to win the games and having a great time! It made me so happy to see her having so much fun. This was my first EVER vacation just the two of us and it was an amazing experience for both of us :goodvibes

I got to meet some of my favorite guys, my shirt was very appropriate for this meet and greet

http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff238/shans4184/marathon%20trip/SAM_0395.jpg

Then my mom and I stumbled upon no line to meet these guys...what luck!!

http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff238/shans4184/marathon%20trip/383163_3092137022642_1240521937_33343365_886868765 _n.jpg

We were able to grab a bench and see a performance...I truly LOVE stuff like this and its something that sets Disney apart :goodvibes

http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff238/shans4184/marathon%20trip/SAM_0397.jpg

We had a lunch ADR at 50's primetime...the food was delicious as always, but they don't really play around with the guests at all anymore..such a disappointment to us. Honestly we probably won't be back anytime soon unless they bring that back, because we usually went for the experience.

After that we shopped some and walked around and headed to DTD to do some real shopping!! The next day was my big race day :scared1:

Can't wait to hear how the marathon went! Alex had a few coworkers who participated in it, and he's been telling me what they thought of the whole thing.

It's cool that all the Christmas decorations were still up for you and your mom to see. Reading about how much fun your mom had on TSM makes me super excited to take mine on it in May. :goodvibes

The 50s section of Pop really is quiet!

Cute with Eeyore! I love that your mom loved Dinosaur! I love how that ride feels but the dinosaurs freak me out!

I LOVE the decorations on the AK tree! How pretty and in depth!

We've never been to 50's Primetime Diner before but heard the food was really good. So they don't act like you're family anymore? That's unfortunate. That's exactly why I wanted to go!

Shannon, sorry I missed the update (we were in Iowa for the weekend visiting our youngest son and his girlfriend).

I'm so glad that you and your Mom had a great start to your mini-trip. It sounds like she was really enjoying herself and trying out some new things.

How cool that you saw the hippo out of the water and the lion roaming around. :thumbsup2

Yay I was hoping you would do a little TR for your marathon trip!

I really liked the 50's section of Pop! I have nothing to compare it to, of course, but it was nice, and so close to the food court! :thumbsup2

Your pictures from AK are great, I love that tree!

I'm not really a big P&F fan, but I do like that platypus! Your shirt is adorable!

Oh, and yay for your DIS meet!

I was going to do a seperate report, but I can't even keep up with this one :rotfl:

When Tim and I stayed at POP I was more willing to go thirsty than to trek to the food court, this time around it was so nice to be close to everything!!

We left WDW the day of the marathon! You may have been running past the Poly when we were leaving. Glad that you're posting about it, I'd love to hear about how it went.

I was so happy to see the Christmas decorations...it was a nice surprise!! You will have SO much with your mom I am sure. It was just so nice to spend quality time together, this trip made me realize we don't do enough of that!! And I loved seeing her getting excited over things like TSM

I am loving your TR. Can't wait to read more. I hope you will do. TR for your wedding so w can all see. I love a good Disneymoon.

Thank you :goodvibes Since we are doing a Disney Cruise/Disney World honeymoon, I am positive I will do a TR for all of that including wedding :thumbsup2

Hi  I am SO happy that we met up for the marathon!! I seriously don't know what I would have done without you, it made it so much less nerve racking!! I felt so bad about your watch though (not too bad since you finished WAY before me :rotfl:)

I am kicking myself for not having someone take our picture together!! I hope we can keep in touch!

Great update and how nice that you got to meet your new friend! I love a good Dis-meet...wonderful people frequent these boards that's for sure! Great pics too by the way and congratulations on the marathon!

I was so happy to meet Faith!! I actually got to meet a couple more DISers during the rest of my trip too!

I think the AK tree was my favorite of the different trees at the parks, the decorations on it were just so unique and beautiful!! :goodvibes

So the morning of the marathon came VERY quickly...I felt like I didnt even sleep at all!!

I had purchased a banana and muffin the night before so I ate those while I got dressed quietly and my mom slept. I snuck out of the room around 315 am :scared1:

I got on a bus with other racers and chatted with the lady next to me on our way over to EPCOT. We were dropped off in the parking lot area and there was a DJ, place to purchase more food, bathrooms, etc. After a while I got in line to use the bathroom and made my way in a HUGE crowd towards the starting area. Most races such as this one use waves or corrals to start the runners so that everyone just doesnt start out at once. You are grouped according to your expected finish time. I was in Corral G, so mine was second to last.

One of my friends from college was running, but he was in the very first corral...he is super fast...the jerk!! :rotfl: I had been on the DISboards running threads and talking back and forth with others. I had found another marathon newbie and she was in my corral :cool1: We exchanged some text messages and luckily found each other in a sea of thousands!! Thank goodness I had Amanda (DrMomof3) to wait with...otherwise I would have been beyond nervous. We were in our corrals I am guessing around 5 am, the race started at 5:30, our corral didnt start until 6 am, LOTS of waiting!!

When it came time for the race to start, I told Amanda to just go, she is way faster than me so I didnt want to hold her back. She finished way before me and hopefully had a great race :thumbsup2

When the race started we went running toward EPCOT...forgive me but I have forgotten parts of the course and I get lost easily :rotfl:

Heres a picture of the EPCOT ball as we ran under

http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff238/shans4184/marathon%20trip/SAM_0409.jpg

we headed towards the Mexico side of WS and already I was WAY behind my pace due to seeing this guy

http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff238/shans4184/marathon%20trip/SAM_0413.jpg

Then we headed back stage and I saw these guys...hello childhood favorites!!

http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff238/shans4184/marathon%20trip/SAM_0414.jpg

I was beginning to think someone working at Run Disney did not want me to finish this race!!

You know how this sign seems so far away from the actual park...thats because it is...SO far :rotfl:

http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff238/shans4184/marathon%20trip/SAM_0415.jpg

After what felt like FOREVER of running highways...I was keeping a great pace..until I had to use the bathroom for the third time..maybe I had too much water..it added a ton of time and energy to use a port o pottie

The sun really started to come up and finally I saw this come into sight

http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff238/shans4184/marathon%20trip/SAM_0416.jpg

http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff238/shans4184/marathon%20trip/SAM_0418.jpg

It was starting to get very warm out (projected weather for the day was 80, I had been training in around 30 to 40 degrees - huge difference)

We came around towards the entrance of MK and went backstage for a brief time, I was so excited to tell Tim, because he loves the idea of being able to explore backstage. We came on stage on the little street thats between where Tony's is and the hat shop...hope that makes sense...this picture might help

http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff238/shans4184/marathon%20trip/SAM_0421.jpg

I was beyond happy to see spectators...everyone was cheering and shouting names out (they were on our race bibs which helped make you feel special because people were yelling "go shannon" and such)

I started to tear up coming down Main Street...this was the part of the race I was most looking forward to (besides the finish!!)

http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff238/shans4184/marathon%20trip/SAM_0422.jpg

I had a CM snap my picture

http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff238/shans4184/marathon%20trip/SAM_0424.jpg

We went through Tomorrowland and headed towards Fantasyland...so many characters I really wanted to stop but if there was a line I didnt do it...I didnt want to get swept (not finish in the time limit and get taken off the course and not finish)

http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff238/shans4184/marathon%20trip/SAM_0427.jpg

snapped this pic since its closing soon

I was thrilled to come around the corner and run through the castle...such a GREAT feeling

http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff238/shans4184/marathon%20trip/SAM_0430.jpg

http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff238/shans4184/marathon%20trip/SAM_0431.jpg

One of my favorite pictures from the whole day

http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff238/shans4184/marathon%20trip/SAM_0432.jpg

More awesome characters as we made our way through the different lands...so sad I couldnt stop

http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff238/shans4184/marathon%20trip/SAM_0434.jpg

Then I saw some with no line...two people I was very happy to meet

http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff238/shans4184/marathon%20trip/SAM_0435.jpg

this is just proof I wasnt the only one still out there plugging along slowly :rotfl:

http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff238/shans4184/marathon%20trip/SAM_0437.jpg

And this is when I started to slowly die...I had been doing my run/walk just fine...after this it turned into all fast walk...ugh!! Its my fault I injured my knee and never really bounced back in my training..the farthest I had ever trained to was 16 miles...thats right 10.2 miles less than what I was trying and do :headache:

More cool things to see and distract myself with

http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff238/shans4184/marathon%20trip/SAM_0438.jpg

http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff238/shans4184/marathon%20trip/SAM_0441.jpg

We were out on some highway (sorry at this point it was all a little foggy for me :rotfl:)

So wishing I stopped for a picture with them, but the line was LONG

http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff238/shans4184/marathon%20trip/SAM_0443.jpg

I made it to the backstage area of AK and we were heading towards the park...they had all kinds of animals out to see, you only see this stuff at Disney races I swear!!

http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff238/shans4184/marathon%20trip/SAM_0444.jpg

http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff238/shans4184/marathon%20trip/SAM_0445.jpg

http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff238/shans4184/marathon%20trip/SAM_0448.jpg

We made our way into AK...around the Tree of Life from Africa to Asia...on to Dinoland...nope I didnt take one picture. The park was open by this point and I was lucky I was still moving!!

We headed out to more highway

http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff238/shans4184/marathon%20trip/SAM_0450.jpg

This was so cool...people were lying in the graveyard area for pictures...I promise you if I had sat or laid down I wouldn't have finished the race :rotfl:

SO much highway

heres a link to the map since I have poor skills in describing this

http://espnwwos.disney.go.com/media/ewwos/pdf/rundisney/wdwmarathon/2012-WDWMarathonMap.pdf

Some cruel person decided to put an out and back loop on the highway here of one mile...just when you think you might be at DHS...you run down highway to run right back where you came from...you can at least see the other people behind you so I knew I wasn't last..I also saw the pacers about a mile behind me :scared1:

http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff238/shans4184/marathon%20trip/SAM_0451.jpg

I saw this sign and knew I was so close to DHS...I honestly think the only way I was moving at this point was the grace of god...my body HURT...my feet the most

We made our way into DHS...through the costume tunnel of the backlot tour...very cool!!

I saw these guys and there was no line, I picked my outfit to match their colors so this was a great picture for me

http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff238/shans4184/marathon%20trip/SAM_0453.jpg

We went down the main street in DHS, we went to the left out backstage, and then back around towards right outside the bag check and entrance to the park. I knew my mom was waiting here to see me!!

She snapped this picture of me

http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff238/shans4184/marathon%20trip/402082_3092140742735_1240521937_33343377_541922682 _n.jpg

I was SO happy to see her!! I couldnt believe I only had 3.2 miles left (it felt like FOREVER!)

We went down the sidewalks and towards the Boardwalk resort...all around that area and down by the Yacht and Beach Club...the crazy spectators were still out there cheering thank goodness!

We came into EPCOT through the UK...through France...wait a minute I have to run all the rest of WS and Future World out to the parking lot!! Yup!!

The park was open by this point and tons of people were cheering, it felt good and my body felt horrible!! Way to not train for this I kept thinking :rotfl:

I FINALLY made it out by the ball and we went back stage towards the parking lot. At mile 26 there was the gospel choir...I started to cry a little it was just what I needed to finish

My mom was waiting for me right near the finish...please note how exhausted everyone looks around me and please note there are still people behind me!!

http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff238/shans4184/marathon%20trip/387667_3092144062818_1240521937_33343384_397244081 _n.jpg

I ran the last tiny bit and high fived Donald on my way over the finish line

I burst into tears after I got my medal and then when I saw my mom I cried again!! I did it!! I finished a marathon!!

http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff238/shans4184/marathon%20trip/406533_3092144862838_1240521937_33343386_999449535 _n.jpg

Shannon, you have totally inspired me to do a marathon. You're awesome! I showed DH the map that you linked up, and as soon as this baby comes out, i'm going to be training for this for 2014 (since I obviously won't be ready for 2013 when the baby comes out this October). Shannon, you have totally inspired me to do a marathon. You're awesome! I showed DH the map that you linked up, and as soon as this baby comes out, i'm going to be training for this for 2014 (since I obviously won't be ready for 2013 when the baby comes out this October). But thank you SO much for posting this. I'm now determined to say that I completed a marathon.:goodvibes

Thank you so much :goodvibes
You should totally train and run in 2014!! You will love every minute of it!! Plus the baby will be at least one then making it a little easier to train and travel :thumbsup2 PS so excited you guys are having a baby!!

After I met up with my mom at the finish line area, I hobbled my way to the EPCOT bus area (of course POP is way at the end) and we made our way back to the room. I tried an ice bath, yes it’s just like it sounds!! I was SO sore and this is a little gross, but my feet were covered in blisters. Painful to walk on and just plain gross!!

I talked my mom into calling a cab for our next destination. I am so glad we made this decision, we were off to have afternoon tea at the GF!! My mom loves all things tea related and I thought this was a perfect idea for our trip. We made our way over to GF and were greeted by the sweetest older man, I want to say his name is Richard…correct me if you know who I am talking about because he seems to be a little famous over there!! I explained to Tim this man is exactly what you expect in a Disney CM…just made me smile talking to him :goodvibes

I have not been to the GF since I was much younger and my mom has never been there, at least not that she remembers. We were both in awe when we walked in the lobby…it is just beautiful in there, everything about it was beautiful.

http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff238/shans4184/marathon%20trip/SAM_0454.jpg

We checked in for tea and were seated fairly quickly. We decided to each order a tea, plus we ordered a cheese & fruit plate, and my mom ordered scones. I wish I had taken pictures of our tea and our table and such, I was just having a great time with mom :goodvibes

After our tea we took the monorail to MK and a bus back to POP. I kid you not any person that would even look like they wanted to talk my mom told them I just finished the marathon that morning…and if they seemed even slightly interested at that fact, she proudly announced it was 26 miles…etc. I embarrass fairly easily, but I knew she was just so proud of me, which made me very happy. We were in bed early that night, I felt bad but my mom was very understanding and she paid for internet at the hotel to entertain herself on her laptop.

The next morning we woke up and were off to EPCOT for the day! I was very excited to see if I could get my mom on Soarin or Test Track…she passed on both last time.

These guys greeted us at the entrance

http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff238/shans4184/marathon%20trip/SAM_0455.jpg
http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff238/shans4184/marathon%20trip/SAM_0456.jpg

We went straight to The Land building and I waited outside as my mom offered to grab us fastpasses for Soarin. I felt bad because she is a new to using fastpass, but my feet were killing me and plus it was good practice for her for the September trip when she would be without my help

She came back and did a great job getting those fastpasses…somehow I just started walking to Test Track and convinced her to get in line with me. I think we waited 15 to 20 minutes for it. My mom seemed very nervous about it, but the lady who was put in our car in the front row was also nervous, which in turn made my mom feel better for some reason. A nice girl probably around my age was placed on the other side of my mom in the back of the car. She was so sweet and said afterwards “I’m that crazy random uncle in your family photo now” this cracked my mom up!!

My mom really enjoyed test track, she liked that the cars sat low she felt very secure and she was very proud of herself. After our wedding my parents, aunt, and 9 year old cousin are staying at WDW for a few days…my little cousin she is not scared of any ride and usually I go with her on rides…but my mom is so happy she can at least take her on a few herself and be ok.

We walked around Future World some more, rode Imagination and Finding Nemo…seems like it was getting a little crowded in EPCOT this day. Spaceship Earth had a huge line so we skipped over and were going to try it later on in the day.

We went back to use our Soarin' fastpasses and only waited about 10 minutes. We were put in front row middle, so excited, best seats!! My mom is afraid of heights, but she LOVED it. She loved each scene and the smells and didn't mind the "heights" at all!

We headed towards WS and passed by Club Cool…my mom had never been there before so we stopped inside. It was a little crazy in there, but we tried all the different sodas…she didn’t really flinch at the Beverly and I told her I was a little concerned her taste buds might be off :rotfl:

The Christmas tree was up and beautifully decorated

http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff238/shans4184/marathon%20trip/SAM_0459.jpg

We started in Mexico around WS…we didn’t ride any of the rides…we just wandered and were trying to decide on where to get lunch. We just couldn’t decide on something, so we headed towards Japan to try that out. On the way we purchased caramel corn from Germany..so good!! :goodvibes

When we reached Japan we spotted the candy maker and had to watch…so impressive!! We ate at Katsura Grill for lunch. I got the teriyaki steak and my mom got the chicken. We both had the green tea. The food was ok..it tasted a little like what you would get at the mall food court honestly and the green tea well didn’t really taste like anything.

http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff238/shans4184/marathon%20trip/SAM_0460.jpg

We headed towards France where I just had to get Grand Marnier slush…yummm!!

http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff238/shans4184/marathon%20trip/SAM_0461.jpg

While I was waiting for my mom to get an ice cream I was enjoying my slushie on a bench when I saw a familiar DIS face and started waving like a crazy lady. Of course Jenny (dismagiclover) and her husband didn’t know who the heck I was, but I couldn’t get words out :lmao:

I introduced myself and we chatted for a while about marathon weekend, her trip report from last year about running her first marathon got me thinking about the Disney marathon and well I ended up doing it!! Of course we had to get a picture together, I was so excited I ran into her (and excited she spoke with me after waving like a lunatic)

http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff238/shans4184/marathon%20trip/SAM_0462.jpg

My mom and I stayed to watch the French acrobatic show and then we were off to the Swan and Dolphin hotel via boat to check out my wedding location

On our way over to the Swan and Dolphin, I spotted a really cute character that I have never met before. I pretty much ran over to her and was second in line to meet her

http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff238/shans4184/marathon%20trip/SAM_0464.jpg http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff238/shans4184/marathon%20trip/SAM_0465.jpg

After a nice leisurely boat ride over to the Swan and Dolphin we made our way over to the beach area where Tim and I are getting married. So excited!

http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff238/shans4184/marathon%20trip/SAM_0466.jpg

It’s a little less private than I expected, but we are going to make it work :goodvibes

After checking out the wedding location, back to EPCOT we went and did some shopping. We also checked out Spaceship Earth on our way out of the park.

http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff238/shans4184/marathon%20trip/SAM_0472.jpg

Except for someone taking flash photography it was a great ride as usual!!

We hung around POP that evening…had a nice dinner and POP has lots of good food choices that I never knew about! We got this little beauty as dessert to share

http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff238/shans4184/marathon%20trip/SAM_0477.jpg

The next morning was we woke up and headed to MK for our last full day at WDW…so happy to see Christmas decorations again

http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff238/shans4184/marathon%20trip/SAM_0478.jpg http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff238/shans4184/marathon%20trip/SAM_0480.jpg

What do you think, can I make it big in show business?

http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff238/shans4184/marathon%20trip/SAM_0481.jpg

Had to get our castle picture

http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff238/shans4184/marathon%20trip/SAM_0482.jpg

We rode Peter Pan, Philarmagic, I rode Space Mtn alone, TTA, Pirates, and more. We also ran into a CM dressed in plain clothing testing out the new Sorcerer game in MK :cool1:

I was pretty excited about my Buzz score…highest for me ever

http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff238/shans4184/marathon%20trip/SAM_0485.jpg

We had a blast on this ride, but TSM is still mom’s favorite, we call this picture crazy ladies

http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff238/shans4184/marathon%20trip/SAM_0488.jpg

We ate at Cosmic Ray’s for our lunch…very yummy

http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff238/shans4184/marathon%20trip/SAM_0489.jpg

Cool views from the treehouse

http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff238/shans4184/marathon%20trip/SAM_0491.jpg http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff238/shans4184/marathon%20trip/SAM_0492.jpg

We had the BEST Jungle Cruise skipper…only us 2 and 2 others on our ride spoke English, so we were the only ones laughing!! But it was still so much fun!!

http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff238/shans4184/marathon%20trip/SAM_0493.jpg

After LOTS of great shopping on Main Street we bumped into the afternoon parade, how fun!!

http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff238/shans4184/marathon%20trip/SAM_0495.jpg

We were right where the parade started and entered onto Main Street

http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff238/shans4184/marathon%20trip/SAM_0497.jpg

http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff238/shans4184/marathon%20trip/SAM_0500.jpg

We headed back to POP, we had a great dinner again, relaxed around the room and packed our things up for our flight out the next morning. It was odd we had all day to spend at the park, but even taking it slow we did everything we wanted to before dinner time most days. It was nice to just spend time together

When we woke up, we decided to both book bounceback offers for my wedding trip in September. Anything that helps to save money!! After checking our baggage, I had a CM take a picture of us, my mom thought this was a cool ride

http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff238/shans4184/marathon%20trip/SAM_0505.jpg

We had a great ME ride back and flight home…I had a hard time getting adjusted…but wedding planning has been keeping me busy!! All in all it was amazing spending that time with my mom just the two of us!!

Up Next: Back to my trip with Tim…do you remember him? I’ll help you remember with the next update haha

Great update, Shannon. I am sorry about the blisters, but sounds like mom took care of you. What fun days in Epcot ( I love Marie and the Grand Mariner slush) and MK. So glad your mom liked Test Track. Did she end up doing Soarin'?

She really did, I felt so bad making her wait on me, but she was so great about it :goodvibes

I just added something to my post about Soarin', I totally forgot, thank you for reminding me :goodvibes She LOVED it...the music and different scenes with the smells, she is afraid of heights but that didn't bother her at all!

I now understand why some people carefully plan out their footwear for Disney!! it was so painful to walk..and feet gross me out to begin with :rotfl:

I actually got that EPCOT shirt on my trip with Tim...which I need to go back to :rotfl: but CMs were even complimenting me on it . I am surprised you don't have an EPCOT shirt!!

Glad you enjoyed the Afternoon Tea - sounds like something I wouldn't mind trying :goodvibes

So do you recommend the tea for couples? It sounds like something i'd like to partake in, but not sure if DH would do it...

BTW, your mom is so stinkin cute!:cutie:

I see what you say about the privacy of the beach, but I think once everything is set up it will feel much more intimate.

The picture of you and your mom on Buzz Lightyear is AWESOME!:thumbsup2

I was spacing that day. Anyway, I love having unplanned DIS meets! It was great meeting you and fun to hear about your race. Marie was so adorable, I love cats to begin with so she won me over!!

I did see couples really enjoying the tea as well! They had some drinks besides tea, I saw some enjoying wine I believe and champagne as well. DF just can't stand to sit still at WDW thats why he probably wouldn't like it, but I think it was a great break

I am so sorry it has taken me so long to work on this report, I really hope I still have people interested in reading!!

Ok so remember Tim…yeah he’s this guy I met over a year ago and we went on a trip back in October to WDW for a week :goodvibes

We were working on our second day at the parks. Our first day we flew in super early, went to DTD, and stayed up all night at MNSSHP. On our second day we were up bright and early for EPCOT rope drop.

At this point we had made our way to WS after riding some rides. We were making our way around the F&W festival. We had already tried some amazing foods and were on to more!

I forgot to share before, we snapped a picture before heading to the WS

http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff238/shans4184/Trip%20Report%202011/Photo0123FourBySix.jpg

I don't remember when we took those, but some of my favorite photopass pics during our trip came from Morocco, it was quiet and such a pretty area

http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff238/shans4184/Trip%20Report%202011/Photo0111FourBySix.jpg
http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff238/shans4184/Trip%20Report%202011/Photo0115FourBySix.jpg

I saw Jasmine while we were taking our pictures and I was following her, because I thought she was going to a spot to take photos, but she was going on break..whoops :rotfl: She did take a second to correct Tim and tell him it was only Monday and his shirt was wrong!

We stopped at Singapore’s booth and we found a bench in front of the American pavilion. I could tell something was up with Tim, he seemed grumpy. I finally dragged it out of him. He was just really tired and it was pretty hot out that day. So we took some time to rest and relax. Plus he didn’t really enjoy the food from Singapore either, he had the coconut braised beef with jasmine rice.

We made our way through WS heading towards Norway where we rode Malestrom. It was around a 15 minute wait and it moved slow, but it was nice and cool inside. Tim had never been on this ride and we had fun with it. We stopped in the store on our way out to take a couple pictures

http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff238/shans4184/Trip%20Report%202011/SAM_0559.jpg

http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff238/shans4184/Trip%20Report%202011/SAM_0561.jpg

We made our way to Mexico, I requested a margarita stop! I love all of the different drinks around WS, but have a hard time drinking alcohol during the day it really hits me harder than during the night. But I LOVE the pineapple margarita. Tim ordered the blue one. I asked if they had a margarita flight and they let me order it. I wasn’t sure if it was on the menu, it was fun to try all the different flavors

I still loved pineapple the best and Tim liked the blue one best but agreed pineapple was very yummy

http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff238/shans4184/Trip%20Report%202011/SAM_0562.jpg

Tim never gets very tipsy, I mean we have tried to test his limit and he is always fine, but this margarita really did a number on him :lmao: We boarded the boat ride…Tim barely remembers it if you ask him now, so it’s like he has never been on it still! I really enjoy the ride I think it’s nice and relaxing. This is the first time I have seen it with a line though!

After our margarita mishap or adventure depending on your opinion, we had some time to kill before our dinner reservation at Le Cellier!! We decided to do a Kim Possible mission, we completed one in the UK. We had a ton of fun doing it; the only problem was other groups doing the same mission so we had to wait our turn on different things and could see what was happening

We checked in at Le Cellier and it was packed. We waited at least 20 minutes, we took a photopass picture but we don’t look ready in it :rotfl: I was hoping it would come out better those gardens are beautiful!

http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff238/shans4184/Trip%20Report%202011/Photo0126FourBySix-1.jpg

We were seated at a small table by the entrance ramp, I was hoping we would be in the dining room more, but I was still very excited! It was our first time at Le Cellier. I had tried the cheese soup before during F&W festival and we got two bowls to start. I swear this could have been my meal alone with the pretzel bread and I would have been SO happy! Soooo yummy! We also ordered the martini sampler to share

http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff238/shans4184/Trip%20Report%202011/SAM_0564.jpg

Tim ordered the ribeye with parmesan potato wedges and I ordered the mushroom filet, except I asked for mashed potatoes instead of the risotto

I LOVE my steak still rare, but this was still VERY rare for me so my only regret is that. Otherwise both of our meals were just delicious! It was worth the price and wait and I would definitely go again. It was very yummy!

I love your Photopass pics! I never see PP photographers at the countries, maybe I'm there at the wrong times?

UGH wasn't the food at Singapore disgusting??? I mean, it wasn't like "eh, this isn't very good" it was HORRIBLE! Like, so bad that it actually made you a little angry! (Well, me anyway!)

Just joining in and I'm all caught up! I love your Monsters Inc. shirts and reading about MNSSHP is getting me so excited for our upcoming trip. Christmas is my favorite time of year at WDW, but I've never been in the fall before and I think it may top it! It sounds like your wedding will be very similar to how mine was - our's was at Crescent Terrace, but very casual and only 35 guests. I can't wait to see your's on the beach! Oh and HM is my fav ride, too! ...I could go on and on! lol

I considered doing what you did and ordering mashed potatos with my filet instead of the risoto, but I decided to try it. I have to be honest, I enjoyed the risoto almost as much as the steak. I was pleasantly surprised. Can't wait to go back.

Yum on the margarita flight! I agree, that Blue one does pack a whallop!:lmao:

It seems the general opinion on Singapore coconut beef thing is run like heck if you see it. Will make a note of that for our next trip......

The picture of you two in front of Morocco is fantastic! I hope one day we run into a PP there, we haven't been so lucky yet, and it's my favorite pavilion visually. :good vibes

:lmao: on Jasmine "correcting" Tim.

I LOVE the cheese soup from le cellier! In fact, back in late January, I was missing it so much that I decided to print the recipe off of Allears and decided to make it with a side of bruschetta. I know, not pretzel bread, but it was a surprisingly good match. And boy was it fantastic! So if there's ever a day you're just wanting some good ol' le cellier soup, just get the recipe!

So I must ask, what does Tim's shirt mean??

Love all the pictures of you two...you look so happy!

Glad you enjoyed your meal at Le Cellier! How was the martini flight? I was thinking of trying it the next time!

Thank you :goodvibes

The martini flight was great for Tim and I to share, because he didnt like the chocolate one which I LOVED and I didnt like the one with the glow cube and he LOVED it :thumbsup2 but it was fun to try different ones

Wow, an update!

That margarita flight looks awesome!

Yum, Le Cellier! I love that place!!!

That was my first time seeing a PP photographer there and I was so excited. Maybe since it was a slow morning there (but picked up later)

SO gross, Tim felt the need to eat half of it because he spent money on it, but I would have just tossed it :headache:

Just joining in and I'm all caught up! I love your Monsters Inc. shirts and reading about MNSSHP is getting me so excited for our upcoming trip. Christmas is my favorite time of year at WDW, but I've never been in the fall before and I think it may top it! It sounds like your wedding will be very similar to how mine was - our's was at Crescent Terrace, but very casual and only 35 guests. I can't wait to see your's on the beach! Oh and HM is my fav ride, too! ...I could go on and on! lol

Thank you :goodvibes MNSSHP was a blast!! I can't wait to do it again this year. I was trying ton convince Tim to go 2 nights last trip

I am so excited to see other swan and dolphin weddings, it gets me so excited for ours!! I don't want to wish the summer away but I am excited for the wedding :rotfl:

It was so good I would love to have that margarita flight right now :thumbsup2

I don't really like mushroom so I skipped on the risoto, but I think next time I might order the same thing and just give it a try, live a little maybe :rotfl:

Oh man I am going to have to look that up and make it!! I am not the best cook but I would try for that soup!!

He just has some shirts from Old Navy I think it was that have days of the week on them. He usually wears them under other shirts but he thought he was funny by wearing it on a different day than it said...yeah thats my guy :rotfl:

I'm still here (just crazy busy with emails, phone calls, etc., since the big engagement).

Love the photopass pictures. I'm so glad you and tim had a great dinner at LeCellier (we were so disappointed in ours and won't be going back anytime soon); they wouldn't let us substitute at dinner which really upset me.

I forgot to mention that on our way to our room at POP we stopped and traded one of our vinylmations (we made so many trades I can’t keep track of them all). We traded in our vinylmation and were presented with this guy

http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff238/shans4184/Trip%20Report%202011/SAM_0508.jpg

This was just the beginning of Phil stalking us our entire trip (hence the TR title), before we had even left for our trip we had a vinylmation of him which I was dying to trade, because he just looks so angry. I had gotten rid of him, but he was back for vengeance :rotfl:

We went right to bed, because Day 3 was our first day at DHS…I was pretty excited about this one, because the last 2 trips I had to ride all of the thrill rides by myself!! I finally had someone with me who loved them too!!

We made sure to wake up super early to make rope drop so we would be able to rush with the masses to TSM. I completely panic in crowds, so I gave Tim my ticket so he could get our fastpasses for us. It also called for rain that day so we made sure to bring jackets just in case (it drizzled some but we didn't them)

We waited with the crowd for the opening, but since we weren’t in the very front we couldn’t hear or see what was going on. Tim ran ahead with the group of people and I lingered behind waiting by the standby entrance. We were able to grab fastpasses and go right into standby. We waited about 10 minutes, I was so sad Potato Head wasn’t out and working!! I have never been in the standby line before so I was hoping to see him

http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff238/shans4184/Trip%20Report%202011/SAM_0572.jpg

Boo Mr. Potato Head hiding

http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff238/shans4184/Trip%20Report%202011/SAM_0573.jpg

Once we got to the first CM, he let us go up to the right where there was no line at all. Seems like if you are a single rider or party of two they sometimes put you in this line. It was nice we got on right away and got some dirty looks from others but hey who cares :goodvibes It was TSM time!! Of course Tim beat me, he is awesome at pretty much any game!

http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff238/shans4184/Trip%20Report%202011/SAM_0575.jpg

Once we were done our turn on TSM we headed towards Star Tours, Tim was insanely excited about riding it after its refurb. I have never seen a Star Wars movie, but I know who most of the characters are (the main ones at least) and LOVED the refurb. This ride used to make me sick, but now I could truly enjoy it!!

http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff238/shans4184/Trip%20Report%202011/SAM_0576.jpg

http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff238/shans4184/Trip%20Report%202011/SAM_0580.jpg

Once we were done visiting far off places we returned to TSM to use our fastpasses

http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff238/shans4184/Trip%20Report%202011/SAM_0581.jpg

Great ride yet again, I think Tim beat me again though. I actually had a melt down one time at home because he ALWAYS wins games…:lmao:

We started to head over to ToT and RnR. Of course on our way I had to stop for pictures

I’m cheap what can I say haha wish I had purchased this Tim looks crazy

http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff238/shans4184/Trip%20Report%202011/SAM_0584.jpg

I love the launch of RnR but I always feel like I am getting a headache at the end of it

ToT was awesome as usual!! We kept our eyes open for all of the different things we spotted in episodes of the Twilight Zone during one of our theme nights!

It was getting close to lunch time and we had an ADR for 50’s prime time…we started to head that way so we could hit some of the shops in that area before lunch

Your shirts are great! I'm probably biased because I LOVE the Hercules movie, but I think Vinylmation Phil is cute. Especially his angry eyes! ;)

I love that they hid Mr. Potato Head behind a bedsheet - sheet forts are the best and totally something that would be in a little kid's room! And cowboy sheets are so neat, especially the little guitars.

We hit a few shops in DHS before making our way over to 50’s PT. Of course we loved a million things in the shops, but we didn’t purchase anything. We took a picture in front of everyones favorite giant hat

http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff238/shans4184/Trip%20Report%202011/Photo0168FourBySix.jpg

We found our way over to 50’s PT and checked in, it was very crowded. We stood around in the waiting area and stalked out some seats. We waited around 15 to 20 minutes, we made sure to get a photo op with one of our vinylmations we picked up that day

http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff238/shans4184/Trip%20Report%202011/SAM_0585.jpg

Once we were seated our server came over to take our drink order and we told her ahead of time we have TIW card. We were sort of wedged in a small table in a corner, pretty close to other diners. I love the feel of 50’s PT and I always have a great meal in there. For some reason we didn’t take pictures of our food…idiots!

We both had the fried chicken and we shared the 50's Boston Cream Parfait for dessert. Everything was really tasty! Tim had the PB&J shake!! It was SOOO good!! Our server was super sweet and friendly, but honestly we (mainly me) were really sad there were no antics except maybe a tiny comment about forgetting to give her the TIW card when we got the check. One of my favorites parts of dining there is the antics, so I was sad to see that not happening with anyone really in the restaurant.

After a yummy lunch we took a couple more pictures in front of that giant hat

That alien kept popping up everywhere...

http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff238/shans4184/Trip%20Report%202011/Photo0201FourBySix.jpg

I know at some point we did Muppets 3D…great as usual and Tim showed me the key under the carpet when you first walk in, very cool!

On our way out I got the chance to see some of my favorite guys…I don't have children, but I do watch the show sometimes :rotfl:

http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff238/shans4184/Trip%20Report%202011/Photo0182FourBySix.jpg

http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff238/shans4184/Trip%20Report%202011/SAM_0587.jpg

I love that they put on a little show with guests while you are waiting in line, very fun experience and I felt like even though we waited it moved pretty quickly

We made our way around DHS checking out Great Movie Ride and we walked around the display area that usually comes at the end of the Backlot Tour, we didn’t feel like riding the actual ride

For some reason we both agreed we thought the Honey I Shrunk the Kids playground used to be bigger, but maybe that was because we were smaller :rotfl: Just for fun here is a picture of me on the playground as a kid

http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff238/shans4184/ps_2011_12_18___16_47_29.jpg

And Tim as a kid in the same spot (now check out the outfits around him – and no none of Tim’s family just tons of random people in his picture :rotfl2:)

http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff238/shans4184/ps_2011_12_08___13_54_16.jpg

We hit the Animation Building and did the animation class…we were able to draw Woody :) We tried our best, but he was a tough one to draw! Tim had read before that if you ask sometimes you can have the instructor’s drawing from that class, and it was true, at least for us he let us have his drawing which of course which very nice

http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff238/shans4184/IMG956079.jpg

Once the class was over we wandered around a little and waited to see if characters would come out. Here is a picture I took of the Cars 2 display

http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff238/shans4184/Trip%20Report%202011/SAM_0592.jpg

Winnie the Pooh was there since his movie had just come out or was coming out soon I couldn't remember which. He has always been a favorite of mine

http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff238/shans4184/Trip%20Report%202011/Photo0186FourBySix.jpg

We waited some more to see if other characters would come out and our waiting paid off…we got too meet a ton of characters and mostly ones I have never met before. They don’t stay out for very long but we got to meet most of them

http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff238/shans4184/Trip%20Report%202011/SAM_0593.jpg

http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff238/shans4184/Trip%20Report%202011/SAM_0594.jpg

Tim’s favorite Disney movie is Aladdin and he was BEYOND excited we were able to meet this guy:

We rode Star Tours one more time before heading out for the night. We were both pretty exhausted from the long days we had so far, we ate at POP and I didn’t even take any pictures. We did make a vinylmation trade and guess who it was

Phil! I am thinking everyone was getting rid of Phil while we were there lol

I can't believe there were no antics at PT?! That's odd.. I always remember them being "mom" or "dad" and being pretty pushy  That's disappointing! Glad the food was yummy!

Love your hat pictures; too cute! Plus, I love that you're both wearing green and that you're both wearing Muppet shirts. You know how I feel about matching...

Whoa whoa-- what is the key under the carpet for Muppets 3D?

LOL-- I watch Phineas and Ferb all the time. Best show ever. Twins 4life.

OMG.. I love little Shannon and little Tim on the SAME bug wearing the same color. You two were just destined.

So nice you got the instructor's drawing! I bet Woody would be tough to draw. But, then again, I can't draw anything.

You got a TON of character photos- Awesome!! Love them all!!

YAY for a wonderful update!! pixiedust:

Love the pics of you guys when you were little! :cutie:

I just found out on another TR too that you can ask for the picture that the animator drew! That is way cool. Why didn't you post your drawings of Woody? :rolleyes1

Tons of characters to meet with, how awesome!

I could not stop laughing at that lady in Tim's throwback Honey I Shrunk the Audience Playset picture that's just leaning on the ant, chillin', while they take the picture. :lmao:

The antics are the only reason we ever book at 50's:confused3

I love the pictures of you two when you were younger...those outfits:rotfl2:

That's disappointing that the servers weren't in a playful mood at 50's. I guess that's the nature of a restaurant that relies on the servers to make the atmosphere. They're going to have an off day from time to time.:sad2:

On our way out I got the chance to see some of my favorite guys…I don't have children, but I do watch the show sometimes :rotfl:

That is a great show. :worship: It's kind of like an "older" cartoon. It really has the same feel to it as a lot of the ones I watched when I was growing up. Unlike the millions of other newer cartoons out there.

For some reason we both agreed we thought the Honey I Shrunk the Kids playground used to be bigger, but maybe that was because we were smaller :rotfl: Just for fun here is a picture of me on the playground as a kid

So where is the now picture of the 2 of you on the ant?:confused3

I've always wanted to try 50's PT but I'm too afraid, maybe if they stopped the antics, I'd go! I just don't feel like being yelled at while I'm eating, which is why I always avoid it, but the food looks so good!

Awww, I love the old pics of you and Tim! :goodvibes

Wow, you got so many character pics, I'm never in the Animation building when they do that! :(

Wow you guys were good for not purchasing anything!

Am glad your food at 50s PTC was good but it is a shame about the antics - I didn't get any either :(

Yay on meeting P&F! :thumbsup2

Lol at the kid photos and the people surrounding Tim! Wow at all the characters you met - that is one lucky spot.

Wow, I can't believe how many characters you and Tim were able to take pictures with! I think being able to see Jafar and Meeko in on stop would be wonderful!:thumbsup2

Man, that Phil Vinylmation just keeps popping up! :rotfl2:

I've put off going to to 50's PT, because I didn't want to deal with the antics, but I went ahead and booked a dinner there for our trip in 2 weeks. It stinks that you guys didn't get to experience that while you were there, I'm secretly hoping that is the case for my mom and I.:lmao:
