Iíd love to start the report the day we left. But alas nothing in my life or my family is without a certain aspect of drama!

So, Thursday evening our 4 1/2 month old English bulldog puppy, Minnie, came over to visit me.

http://inlinethumb32.webshots.com/49503/2490878010098269115S500x500Q85.jpg (http://family.webshots.com/photo/2490878010098269115qkRqUx)
Sorry the picture is blurry!! She's a little energetic ;)

I looked at her, in all her cuteness and thought, ďWow, why is her
neck so dirty?Ē

A second look left me in horror when I realized it was dried blood, not dirt!

I just about freaked out!

I sat down on the floor with her and removed her pretty pink collar that is complete with a pretty pink flower with rhinestones! I discovered that the whole left side of her neck was either bleeding, raw or crusted with dried blood!!!!!! Not to mention, it smelled terrible!!!

I wasnít like that several hours earlier when Miss Minnie and I had a little cuddle together on the couch!!!

So, I cleaned it was warm, soapy water and put Neosporin on it.

I was soooooooooooooooooooooooooo upset! I hate to leave my puppies! I hated to leave little Miss Minnie at only 4 1/2 months old. Now I was about to have an anxiety attack about leaving her, even though I knew she would be well taken care of because the kennel is at the vet. I knew she would be rooming with her big brother Pluto,

http://inlinethumb64.webshots.com/47679/2712756620098269115S500x500Q85.jpg (http://family.webshots.com/photo/2712756620098269115RHSUAf)

who is the best big brother dog in the whole world and loves his little sister to death! It still broke my heart and made me sick with worry!!

Bright and early Friday morning I was on the phone with the vet! Luckily, they were able to see her early in the afternoon!

So, DH took Pluto, who is 120 lbs of yellow lab energy and love, to the kennel around 12:30 and DS4 and I took Minnie to the be seen and kenneled at 1!

Now, Iíll tell you, I LOVE all the people who work at our vets office! Theyíre all fabulous and soooo nice! They knew how upset and worried I was about her because I wouldnít be around to take care of my baby! The all reassured me that everything would be fine and she would get the very best care!

Of course, my luck, Minnie was seen by the crazy vet!! They have 3 or 4 different vets in the office and this dude is a complete wack job!! I honestly think he thinks heís a dog! He talks to them in funny little voices, hugs, kisses them and just goes crazy over them. I really think that if he could he would sniff their rear ends! I will say he knows what heís doing and is a great vet! Just a tad weird!

He assured me that it was just a hot spot caused my an irritation or allergy and he promised to take very good care of her! He told me he would take her in the back, clean it up, shave it so it got air, put steroid powder on it to reduce the inflammation and start her on antibiotics. He also asked me if it was ok to give her a mild sedative because it was going hurt when he shaved it and he didnít want her to be too uncomfortable. I assured him that it was fine with me because I didnít want my baby to be in pain!

So, Ryan, DS4, and I bid Miss Minnie farewell and went to the front desk. It was there that Ryan realized that this was goodbye for now and had a breakdown!!! He was sooooooo upset!!! Almost hysterical crying!!!! The ladies at the desk thought it was so cute that he loves his puppy so much that he didnít want to leave her, even to go to Disney World! Poor baby!

Finally Ryan, with his cheeks wet from tears, and I, with a giant headache from stress and worry, were able to make our way back home to finish up last minute stuff!

Upon arriving home I found another baby awaiting me on the front porch! This was a baby I was waiting for and was super excited about!

No, it wasnít a real baby or another dog!

What was it? We shall seeÖ

Here!! Can't wait to follow along. And soooooo jealous you will be back in 35 days!

Totally relate to the angst leaving a fur baby. I got daily reports from my folks who were watching my furry princess.

I think I know what baby was on your porch....

I'm here, Melissa; thanks for the heads up.

I'm sorry you had all that stress with the puppy before you left. We had a hard time leaving our puppy -- who will be 14 years old next month. She was diagnosed with cancer in May and there are days I just dread coming home because of what I might find. She was miserable while we were gone -- but only from sadness that we weren't there to spoil her.

Your pups are adorable, and I'm glad it was only a hot spot.

Can't wait to read more.

I love my dog, but really hate all that drama that comes with him. It's so hard when they are sick, or ailing. (not to mention expensive!) I'm glad that Minnie got taken care of before you left, but how stressful!!! Your son is too cute- poor guy, all worried.

Woo hoo!!! I'm so excited about the December trip!! Especially because it's like winter outside already! :lmao:

I think the vets office got sick of MIL and I calling to check on Minnie, Pluto and their puppy Casey! LOL! Oh well!

I bet you're right about what was on the porch!! ;)

Oh Kat! I'm soooo sorry about your baby!!! I hate to see a sick animal! At least the kids can tell me what's wrong! The dogs can't!

I was happy it was only a hot spot too!! The vets office keeps reminding me that Bullies are high maintenance! :lmao: I knew that before we got her but holy cow!! She really is!!! We got her in August and I've already had to treat her for a tummy parasite from eating poop (gross I know, she ate poop from another animal a rabbit or something!) an ear infection and now the hot spot!

I'm here Melissa!!

I know!!!! I hate to see them sick or hurt!! Minnie is WAY more take care of then Pluto!!! The vets office keeps reminding me that bullies are high maintenance!!

I felt so bad for Ryan!! The kids love the dogs so much!! He said goodbye to Pluto no big deal! He hated to leave Minnie though!!! And he didn't forget about it either ;)

More poor puppy!! SIL did offer to check in on them. But, I thought seeing someone they know would make the stay at the kennel that much worse!

I hope Ziggy is ok!!! I think smaller dogs are more work then larger dogs! Pluto is good as long as you feed him, give him water, let him out, and give him love! We've only had to take him to the vet for something other then a check up once when he hurt his paw! Minnie is way more work!!

Poor Minnie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And Ryan too

I'm here :)

So, back home after the vet I was soooo excited to see my new little baby on the front porch!

What was it?

Queue angels singing!! Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

This little baby!!!

http://inlinethumb60.webshots.com/48635/2461127240098269115S500x500Q85.jpg (http://family.webshots.com/photo/2461127240098269115lzInrE)

In all of itís beautiful whiteness!

Iíll admit, Iím a bit of an apple geek! When I got an email from AT&T that I was eligible to upgrade I wasnít going to argue!! Nope! The fact that it would arrive the day before we left was a plus! Not to mention, it meant DH could have my old 4! Heís been drooling over it for awhile ;)

So I quick take it inside and careful open the box!

As any good apple geek would do, I immediately started setting it up. I went through the stuff that needs to be done. Choice a language, a country, blah, blah, blah, a few other nonsense things and it should be wham, bam thank you! All done, thank you for shopping with Apple and being a valued AT&T costumer please enjoy your shiny new iphone 4s! Right?!

NOT!!

Something goes wrong!

Son of a &(%@#!!

ďYouíre set up could not be completed at this time, please try again laterĒ

Again, Son of a &(%@#!!

I found myself thinking, ďListen, phone! I canít wait until later!! Iíve got stuff to do! Iím leaving for Disney at 5 am!! Vacation is TOMORROW!Ē

So, I decide that perhaps it was a user defective error kind of deal. I try again!

ďYouíre set up could not be completed at this time, please try again laterĒ

Really phone?! Now your just messing with me!!

I try to remain calm!

I attend to Ryanís needs, novel idea for a mom ;) and get him all set for a snack and a little short TV time.

Then I call AT&T! Iím on hold for a good long time and so I decide to bust out the laptop and search online for info. As it turns out AT&Tís system is completely overloaded with every apple geek in the world trying to activate their 4s all at the same time! FABULOUS!!! All the geeks need to get out of MY way! I need this dang phone to WORK!

So, I decide to play dumb when the customer service lady answers my call! We go through all this ridiculous garbage that isnít going to help including taking the sim cards out of both my old phone and new phone and giving her the numbers! OK! Well, at least learned how to take the sim card out of an iphone! I didnít know you could! Did a few more pointless things, chatted a little bit (she was super nice) and then she told me ďwell, the system is backed up and your in the queue to be activated you just have to wait until itís your turn now!Ē

Really?!

Are you sure?!

Cause I really want to cut the line!!! Normally I would wait my turn! I may pout a little, but I would wait!

Given the fact that I was like 15 hours away leaving on vacation I really want to cut the line!!! Just cancel a few million activations and let me go first!!!

No! Booo! :snooty:

Ack!

So, I safely put the baby down for a little nap on the shelf and decide now, at like 3 in the afternoon, I should finally start getting the last minute stuff done!

Luckily, I was mostly packed! I just needed to throw a few more things in and wait for the stuff that needed to go in the morning!

A little cleaning, a few odds and ends. Got the big kiddos off the school bus and it was time to relax!

All the while the new baby was resting on the shelf!

We had our normal Friday night dinner of pizza and laughed and giggled excitedly about the week to come.

After dinner, still nervous about what when my phone would actually be activated and if I would have a phone the first day of our trip, I went over to the shelf and picked that baby up!!

Low,

And

Behold

(queue angels singing again, ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh)

It working!!! Thank you iphone gods!!

Very relieved and thankful, I changed a few settings and hooked her up to my computer to begin transfer my stuff!

It didnít take nearly as long as I thought it would! I have A LOT of songs and apps, etc.

With that done and the kiddos showered and pjíd it was time for bed nice and early!!

Tomorrow would be an early morning!!

I was happy it started working!! :cool1: What a good mom you are, that's a fabulous christmas gift!

Yay on having a new iphone waiting for you!! :thumbsup2 I want to upgrade but am not sure I will know how to use the darn thing properly!! :lmao:

Wow at the hassle of getting it set up - am glad it all worked out in the end.

You'll figure it out! I promise!!

It was a pain in the rear to get it set up! It shouldn't be that big of a hassle!!!

She took me to my meeting yesterday, she reminds me when I need to make a call or something, she sets the alarm for me. She hasn't figured out how to clean my house or anything, but I'm working on it!

Well - congrats to both of you for getting your new babies operational. I,too, will have my 4 for quite awhile. I don't even want to know when my next upgrade is. My next purchase will be a new mac since my first one was a used one - sort of a trial computer. Love it and can't wait to get a new one!

Glad your phone was ready to go to florida with you!

Hi everyone! I just wanted to let know that I'm having a tiny bit of computer issue!! My MacBook won't charge! I think it's just the power cord! If today weren't Halloween I would throw the kiddos in the car after they get home from school and go get a new one. But, not today!

I'll br going tomorrow!!

I just wanted you to know that I'm not ignoring you!! I'll be back ASAP!!

Welcome Kristin!!!

I bought a new power cord at best buy yesterday and everything seems to be fine!

I like BLT. I love to proximity to MK, you can't beat that! It's fabulous to be able to walk back and forth, especially after MNSSHP! No waiting for a bus!! Woo too!! That being said, I'm not a huge fan of the theming. I actually feel like it's lacking a theme. The pictures on the wall don't make it disney. But, that's just my opinion!

I left off with an early bedtime the night before we left on our magical Disney adventure!

I set the alarm on my fancy dancy new phone for something like 3:30 am! Yup, bright and early!

But, true to form, I woke up at 2:45ish! I lay in bed for a little bit, dozed a little, played with the fancy dancy new phone and then decided to just get my butt out of bed. No sense in staying there, I surely wasnít going to go back to sleep!

So, I got up, had some coffee, showered, had some coffee, got ready, had some more coffee, went on about a few things around the house, decided that if I drank anymore coffee there would be an unpleasant side effect, and then woke the family!

No one in my family, except me, is a morning person on a usual day. On Disney day they suddenly and miraculously become morning people!! Letís get up, get dressed, in the car, letís go kinda people!!!!

So soon we were off to the airport!

We got to the airport quick and easy! Curb side check in was a breeze as was going through security! I was super glad that we go there when we did because by the time we got through security the line was out of the queue ridiculously long!!!

We settled in for a short wait at the gate and got a little breakfast!

Soon it was time to board!! I absolutely despise Southwest boarding! Itís so stressful to me! But, we were in the A boarding group, so we were soon on the plane, seated and comfy!

The flight was uneventful and the kids, although they didnít sleep, kept themselves occupied and happy!

We landed and soon found our way to claim our luggage! We also found our fabulous limo driver! Honestly, I canít remember his name but he was super nice and helpful!

And we were soon whisked away in a stretch navigator! Sorry no pics for the car or of the car for that matter, I was too busy being overwhelmed with actually being at WDW!

We arrived at the Contemporary quickly and made our way to check-in.

Now, I didnít do online check-in. Mostly because last year when DH and I stayed at BLT I did and I had a horrible time checking in! Something got messed up somewhere along the way and it took like 40 minutes to check in!

So, I was hoping that not doing online check-in would make the check-in process a lot smoother and easier!

Yup, dreams and wishes!!!

That were soon dashed! Ho hum!!!

The girl who attempted to check us in was Kristine, she was super nice and helpful. But, the issues were not only beyond her control, they also were beyond her knowledge.

I had with me my confirmation letter with all 7 people, listed correctly. But, something, somewhere along the way had gotten messed up. They had 9 people listed. The extra three where actually DH, DS8 and FIL listed again and slightly differently!

Grrrrrr! I told DH it would be too confusing to have all 3 of them named John. But noooooooooo! He had to have a son named after him! Yeah, I just carried the kid for 9 months, the last of which was hell on earth, and pushed him out without pain meds because the kid wouldnít wait for them to give me any! Yeah, I shouldnít have a say in naming him. I guess Iíll be dealing with this until the end of time!!

But, I digress!

It should be simple enough and she can just delete the extra 3 names, right?!

Yeah, dreams and wishes that were again, soon dashed! Ho hum!

The system wouldnít let her delete. She tried, and they would just reappear.

She finally, after struggling for 20 minutes called a manager over!

He looked at it and tried to delete the names and did a little diddy on the computer they have on the rolling table in the back.

Yeah, he was having trouble too!

And it turned out that not only was there 3 extra clones in our room but some one, somewhere had MIL and FIL in an extra studio! Say what buttercup?!

My immediate first thought was my precious DVC points! I had just recently been in my DVC account online and everything had looked fine with the points. But I was slightly freaked that I would be charged the points for 8 nights in a Lake View Studio at BLT! But, he assured me that everything would be fine!! My thought, you had better be telling me the truth there bucko!

He tried and tried and tried some more to fix it!

I tried and tried and tried some more to remain patient and not annoyed, although I had now been trying to check-in for 40 minutes.

He made a phone call, to whom I donít know. Perhaps Mickey, maybe Robert Iger himself! I really donít know.

But, after the phone call. He came over and told me, and Kristine, that he was going to have to cancel our room reservation and the phantom reservation and re-book it the way ! Fabulous! Just make sure that everything stays the way itís supposed to and my points donít get messed up, capiche?!

So, a fiddle and a foddle and soon it seemed that the reservation was fixed, well actually re-booked!

Now, we could re-start the process of actually checking in!

In the meantime the family had been sacked out over by the lobby tv being very patient. Which is something my family doesnít do all that well!

Kristine, checked us in and felt so bad she offered to call housekeeping to see if any rooms were clean for us even though it was only around 11:30. She asked if I had any special requests for the room.

My immediate thought was ďyeah, after all this, a week in the castle suite!!Ē Then I thought, ďyeah, one of those fabulous magic kingdom view suites in the contemporary!Ē

But, I was a good girl and said, ďyes, an even numbered room on the north end of the building!Ē I think she thought I was little looney for that request. But, being somewhat of an expert, I knew that the rooms on the outside of the building, the ones that face the monorail and MK are even numbered, also knew that the rooms on the north end of the building are closest to Space Mountain. Therefore, a room on with an even # on the north end of the building is likeliest to be one of those fabulous rooms in BLT that is considered lake view, but actually lake and MK view!!

Well, there were no rooms clean, let alone one that meet my requests. So she hung up and said at least if there are no clean rooms sheíll make sure we get a ďgoodĒ room. So, she made another call. I assume to the person who assigns rooms. She explained that there had been a lot of trouble trying to get us checked in and she wanted to make sure that we got a good room. They talked for a minute and hung up! She told me that we would really like the room we assigned to! She couldnít give me the number because it wasnít cleaned yet and hadnít been marked as such in the system. But she hoped it would make up for some of the inconvenience!

So, an hour and 15 minutes after starting the check in process we were finally checked in and ready to go!!

Off to MK we go!!

Ack!! It was CRAZY!!!

Honestly, we stay in a MK view last october, it really wasn't that great of a view! I am definitely spoiled by having stayed MK view at Poly twice but this was kinda parking lot and MK view. We were right above the porte cochere. I actually called the front desk and asked if we could be moved. Unfortunately they didn't have anything else. If the wait list comes through definitely request a room on a high floor!!!!

I definitely agree that the 1 bedrooms, which is what DH and I stayed in last october are huge!!!

I think you'll enjoy BLT, there are a lot good things about it! I would, if it were up to me, have your friend book BLT when the 11 month window opens up and then try for a place you might like better when the 7 month window opens, on that exact date, right at 9 am!

Our check in was ridiculous!!! But, I tired to remain nice and patient!!

Yay, an update! :thumbsup2 I can relate to the 'family being grouchy in the morning thing', only it's not my family, it's me. I try not to be TOO grouchy when I wake up but sometimes you just can't help it... but on Disney days I LEAP out of bed.
Looks like your son was able to entertain himself on the flight! Too funny.
Oh good Lord, I think I would have gone completely crazy in the situation. Way to keep your cool! Can't wait to see how awesome the room is!

P.S. Thanks for the welcome! I'm still very new and everyone so far has been very friendly and lovely. My kind of people!

I'm usually more grouchy at the end of the day :lmao: My kiddos and DH are not at all morning people!!! DD is super crabby and so hard to wake up! But, on Disney day she's out of bed lickity split!!

Ryan is such a goofy ball! I told him to make a funny face and he went with it! :lmao:

I'm glad you're having a good Dis experience so far!!! A word of advice, if anyone is not welcome try to take it with a grain of salt. Dis is a pretty big community. Like any large group there is bound to be a few bad apple ;)

I love the photos of DS on the flight - he looks so excited to be going to Disney World!! :cool1:

Wow an hour and 15 minute wait! That is unheard of! After that wait I would be wanting the best room available! :lmao:

He's such a goofy :lmao:

The wait was ridiculous! I hope they were glad they got me and not some cranky jerk!!!

Oh good....I'm not too far behind on your TR.

I love the photos of your son on the plane -- he's obviously happy he's going to DW.

That is a horrible amount of time to get checked-in. We've never even visited the BLT, but I'm not a big fan of "contemporary" and the rooms just don't appeal to me. But the convenience factor, I am sure, is a huge plus.

Ryan is so silly!! He was definitely excited that's for sure!!

It was a crazy check-in. Something I care never to repeat!

I'm not big on contemporary or modern either, but the fact that we could walk to Mk was a huge plus!!! Especially after MNSSHP!!!

Wow, what a horrible check in. Glad it all got worked out and the points were the same.

Glad to know about the room request for lake view. That would be great!

We loved BLT this summer. It was so nice to be so close to the MK.

WOW that is definitely one of the worst check in stories I have ever heard! I have never had issues like that before!!! Unreal!! I really hope that you did end up in a good room after all of that!!

I'm with Anita an you on this one! I really really enjoy BLT!!! I love the location, you just can't beat that!!

It was ridiculous!!!! Crazy too!! I'm just glad everything worked out!!!

From a location stand point BLT can't be beat! Especially for a family!!

Definitely keep the room request in mind for future use! I swear she thought I nuts! But I learned that little piece of info from the BLT room/pic thread!!

I love the location of BLT! I want to love the resort, but I still don't feel it!

That is a terrible check-in story! Oh my goodness. Even your happiness at being at Disney must have been wearing off at that point. :sad2:

I do think the rooms look cool at BLT and seeing the castle from my bed (or one of those lovely jacuzzi tubs!) would be awesome but otherwise can't say the resort holds much appeal for me. Although now that I think about it, the Top of the World lounge sounds awfully cool too...

Totally agree BCV rooms could use a refurb!

Yup!!! It was terrible!!! I kept trying to remind myself that everything would be fine and the poor girl behind the counter wasn't at fault! I am, however in the process of writing an email for DVC.

I only wish BLT had more of a disney personality! The views are fabulous, but a lot of the MK view is over a parking lot. I like the view from Poly sooo much better! Of course, you know I'm a resort snob ;)

I really, really love BC! But, I admit my room in May could have used a little sprucing up!

So, I left off after the most awful check in ever! And we were off to MK!! I must confess, I didnít take very many pictures on the first day. I think it was a combo of being exhausted from getting up so early, travel and the check in and the fact that itís hard to wrangle 6 other people and take pictures.

A quick walk and we were soon at MK walking through the gates.

First stop was lunch! Hot Dogs at Caseyís here we come!! MK was quiet crowded but we were lucky enough to get food quickly and find a table.

Lunch was yummy as usual and soon it was time to get our ride on! I got up and threw the garbage away. A lady came over and asked if we were done and I told her yes. She wanted our table, fine. I told her to follow me over. But when I got to the table the lady wasnít there and I didnít see her anywhere. We collected up all our stuff and she still wasnít around. So we left. Well, a man came over and took the table at the same time the lady approached, the man happened to get to the table first. You can only imagine what happened next!! There was almost a fist fight! Way to feel the magic people!!!

And we were off to our first ride!! Ryan got to pick the first ride this trip so IASW it was!

Fantasyland was a crazy mess of people, but luckily the wait for IASW was posted at 20 minutes. I think we waited 10!

The kiddos had a great time as usual!

Then it was decision time! Fantasyland was so crowded I didnít even want to think about go back through toward the castle! I suggested HM and the kiddos thought that was a fabulous idea!!

Remember that Pixie Dust and Wishes in my PTR!? Yeah, this was one of the times I really needed it during the trip! I told the family I had to go park Ryanís stroller. For some reason stroller parking was over next to CHH at the time so DH and I went to park the stroller, MIL and DD waited by the entrance of the queue. DS8 had been with FIL. FIL, being to impatient to wait while we parked the stroller, got online!

Really?!

I explained to DH that the line is different now and if the line was moving fast we would have no idea which way they went! Not to mention, how were we to know that they really were together!?!

I was not a happy camper!! FIL was increasing his odds of becoming a permanent resident of the ride! GRRRRRRRR!

We found them inside the queue, and FIL wanted us to climb over the chain and join them! Iím a line cutter!!! I HATE that!! But DH just jumped over like it was no big deal and so did DD and DS4. Grrrrrrrrr!!! I really had no other choice so over I went with MIL!

We thoroughly enjoyed our romp through the graveyard! The kids loved it and DH was very impressed!

We waited a little while longer and soon boarded our doom buggies!! DH, Ryan and I, Johnny and Grandpa, Dorothy and Grandma!

http://inlinethumb26.webshots.com/15257/2417497870098269115S500x500Q85.jpg (http://family.webshots.com/photo/2417497870098269115uDwLSz)

Everyone was impressed with the new hitchhiking ghosts at the end! Especially DH! Our heads got switched!!!

After HM Dorothy and Johnny decided that they must ride BTMRR! So we were off to the wildest ride in the wilderness!! I tired to hard to convince Ryan that he wanted to ride it on our way over. But, little mister fussy pant wouldnít go for it! Boo to you!

So MIL, Ryan and I waited while DH, FIL, Dorothy and Johnny went for a ride!! The posted wait was 50 minutes, I was hoping it wasnít!

So we waited and waited! There was really no place to sit, but at one point MIL said, ďUmm, I need to sit down!Ē She got really, really pale!!! She had gotten really dizzy and she scared the cr@p out of me! MIL has a lot of problems with her stomach, so she hadnít eaten dinner the night before and hadnít really eaten anything yet that day for fear of having an issue on the plane! No wonder!!

Ryan and I got her a pretzel and water and she seemed to get better. Her color returned which made me feel better!

While we waited some more the Celebrate a Dream Come True Parade headed our way. Ryan really wanted to see it so I took him over on the bridge by splash. It was a crazy sea of people and there was absolutely no way he was going to be able to see!

So, I picked him up! He still couldnít really see, so I put him on my shoulders! He loved it!! He was so excited to see the parade!!!

When the parade was over, much to the relief of my neck and back, I put him down and we head back to MIL. I was little of what I was going to find after her dizzy spell but she was fine!

Soon the wild bunch arrived back!! I was really hoping the room would have been ready, but it wasnít! So, it was time to decide what to do next!

No one was feeling splash too much, especially because the posted wait was 90 minutes!

http://inlinethumb13.webshots.com/12748/2225359890098269115S500x500Q85.jpg (http://family.webshots.com/photo/2225359890098269115TDTeqV)

The kiddos, especially Ryan, decided POTC was a must!!

Posted wait was 30 minutes, it turned out to be 15ish! Everyone, especially my littlest scurvy pirate, really enjoyed the ride!

Luckily, as I climbed out of the boat my fancy dancy new phone buzzed to let me know that our room was ready!

Woo hooo!!!

We walked toward Main Street and rounded corner to head out. Move it, Shake it, Celebrate it was going on!

Iím fairly famous for impromptu bouts of silliness so I started dancing to the music as I pushed Ryanís stroller down the sidewalk!

Flotsam and Jetsam, opps, I mean Dorothy and Johnny, thought I was hysterical so Ryan turned around to see what they were laughing at!

He said, ďMom! What are you? Lady GaGa or something?!Ē

I nearly died laughing!!!! First of all, I didnít even know that my 4 year old knew who Lady GaGa is!! Not to mention that he would compare me to Lady GaGa was too dang funny!!!!! It also became a thing! It still is a thing!! Everytime I did, or do, something he thinks is silly or funny, he says ďWhat are you? Lady GaGa or something?Ē Iíve actually started telling him ďYes, I am!Ē at this point!!!! ;)

The thought of Casey's hotdogs is making my mouth water as we speak! Yummmm! I don't like the idea of us only being there for 4/5 days on our next trip because that means we need to choose between several really delicious CS places in the MK!

:lmao: He says it at least once a day now!! Funny kid!

It was crowded but we really had success getting on rides!

I was so worried about MIL! I had visions of her being carted out of MK on a stretcher!

I'm glad you all enjoyed the HM graveyard - it sure is a lot of fun! :cool1:

Oh no on MIL not feeling well...am glad she felt better after some food and a sit down.

:lmao: :lmao: at Ryan's comments on your dancing!! It's hilarious how you got this title and I love that he still says it to you as well.

LOVE the new HM queue!!!!

MIL scared me half to death!!

Ryan is too darn funny! Crazy kid!!

Agree with Tracy that your Lady Gaga dance would be most welcome at the Dawa bar. While we sit, sip margaritas and laugh... with you... not at you. ;)

I definitely found this Oct far more crowded than in the past. Guess word is getting out that it is such a fun time of year to go. :sad2:

Can't wait to see your room!

A drink or 2 and I'll be busting a move ;)

It really was a lot more crowded! Boo!!! I'm interested to see what it's like in a few weeks! It's supposed to be light, but we shall see!

I love that picture of the walkway to the MK sign. That's the greatest thing about staying at BLT.

Nice HM queue pics and you got madame and the bride all in one try. Strong work there! :worship: Cute pics of the kids, too.

Isn't it?!

:lmao: I took both of those pics with my phone!!!! I was very proud!!!

My kiddos are definitely cute, but I'm a little biased!

We switched our June trip to BLT, lake view. :goodvibes We're not going to tell the kids and surprise them with the resort change, they think we're staying at our home resort AKV. ;) We've never stayed at BLT, the decor does nothing for me but you can't beat the location. Can't wait to walk to MK! Have some research to do on the resort though. Will definitely be adding your room request tip and hope for the best.

MK looked busy. :headache: You got a few good ones in though. :thumbsup2

Glad MIL was better with a snack and drink, that would have scared me too!

You will LOVE walking to MK! It's so convenient!! There is a BLT rooms thread, I'll find it and post a link for you! Lots of good info!

MK was definitely busy but we did pretty good! Actually, I think this is the first time we've ever waited an hour for a ride!

Poor MIL! I'm just glad she got better!

ok so seriously. After all of the crud, between the stress of SW boarding (Which I am SO with you, stresses me out), the NIGHTMARE check in, the MIL on the verge of passing out, line cutting and all...you bursting into spontaneous silly dance and being called Lady Gaga by your 4 year old is..

why we love you.

Seriously.

:worship:

:lmao::rotfl2: I just try to go with the flow! Most of the time ;)

So, I left off with us headed back to our room! The text I had received said we were in room 8002! Score! It was an even number so I knew that at the very least we were on the outside of the building, facing the monorail, MK, etc!

Once we arrived at BLT and headed toward the elevator I had to try to explain to DH and Fil that our room wasnít going to be on the 8th floor! In fact it was going to be on the 10th floor! I tired to explain to them that at BLT you subtract 70 from the first 2 numbers of the room number to get the floor number. Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dumb didnít believe me! Ho hum! Honestly, I think the first rule of traveling to WDW with a Diser should be ďthou shall not question anything the expert says!Ē Just sayinÖ:snooty:

They learned their lesson when they saw the handy dandy floor guide on the inside of the elevator! Yup!! I, of course, was right!

We got to the 10th floor and went left! Left was good! Left was going north! We walked, and walked some more!

Then I realized our room was the very last room at the end of the hallway!

Iíll admit that I was somewhat concerned that we would actually be too far down to get the lake/mk view.

So with baited breath I opened the door!

I swear I must have run from the door to the balcony!!! LOL!!

Of course, I immediately looked left!!!

When what to my wondering eyes should appear but a vision ofÖ..

MAGIC KINGDOM!!!!

Queue the angels singing!!! Yes, Virginia there is a Santa Claus and we got a lake/MK view room! Wooo hoo, woo hoo, woo hooo!!!

I must take this opportunity to apologize for not taking 1 single picture of the inside of our room! I think the excitement of finally being in our room, it was at least 4:45 by this time, the excitement of the view and sheer exhaustion clouded my judgement!

So, I called for the luggage, our 2 owners lockers, the box I shipped and the groceries I ordered. The bellmen arrived quickly and I was soon unpacking!

After getting up at an ungodly hour of the morning it felt great to settle in and relax!!!

We hung out for awhile, the kids played and watched TV, the grownups enjoyed the balconies!

Soon it was time to head off for a fabulous dinner and a fantastic surprise!!!

But, this book fair volunteering PTA Mom is pooped and needs to head off to bed! So you have to wait for the rest ;) Be back tomorrow!

What I wouldn't give for that view in March!
Like I've said, we are on a waitlist for a MK view...
I doubt very seriously that it will come through because there are so few MK view rooms anyway and even less when it's a 1br MK view room.

Your dogs are adorable, I always feel the same. Sort of like my heart breaking when I leave my dogs at the Kennel. But we know the ladies at our vets office take much care for our animals. That's why we've been with them for 15 years. Also that view is AMAZING! prime viewing for Wishes, eh?

Just remember, even #, north end of the building and ask at check-in again!!!! A reminder can't hurt ;)

Wow! Amazing view!! You definitely earned it after the check-in ordeal! What is up with the math equation to figure out what floor your room is on? :confused3 There must be a reason they can't be traditional in the numbering?

My view was definitely amazing!! I think the weird numbering system must have something to do with the numbering at the main building of the contemporary. Although I forgot to check how the main building is numbered! Maybe they didn'tvwant to duplicate numbers?

Hello Dis Friends! Sorry I havenít been around to much lately! I got roped into crazy book fair duty at the kiddos school and have spent an insane amount of time at the school over the past week and a half! So much so that DH was starting to get annoyed at me!

Before I get started I wanted add something I forgot to put in my last update! Remember me mentioning that I was afraid our room would be to far down to get the MK view. Well, in a 2 bedroom you have 2 balconies! One off the master bedroom, that also had a door from the living room and a 2nd off the 2nd bedroom. DH and I were in the master bedroom. The view I showed you was from that balcony. The balcony off the bedroom with 2 queen beds was indeed too far down to get that view! That balcony was a true lake view.

I also should mention that my dang ticker is off by 1 day! Boo! We leave in 8 days, not 7!! I will be back soon with a PTR kind of update

Anyway, moving on!

Off to dinner we went! Luckily, we didnít have to go far! Dinner for the night was Chef Mickeyís!

We checked in, got our pager and got our picture taken!

Excuse the exhaustion in my face and whatever funky thing is going on with my hair! ;)

We had a good, uneventfully dinner with a fabulous waitress. With, of course, lots of characters!

He LOVED his cake and was sooooo surprised!! I love the ear to ear grin he gets when heís happy and surprised!!

After dinner it was back to the room to get ready for bed! After waking up very early that morning we were definitely tired!

But, we werenít too tired to skip Wishes on the balcony!!!!!! Wooo hooo!!!

Didnít take any pictures!! Sorry! I was too busy soaking it in!!! I did take a few pics later in the week though ;) So stay tuned!!!!

After Wishes it was time for me to make use of the Jacuzzi tub while DH got the kids ready for bed!!! I LOVE that tub!!! Honestly, being able to soak in that tub after a day at the parks is like heaven on earth!!!!

Then it was off to bed for us!!!!

:cool1: Day 2!!!

The plan for today was sleeping late, pool, rest, MNSSHP. DH and FIL were heading to ESPN Zone at Boardwalk to watch the Giants game!

On a usual Sunday in our house DH makes the family bacon, eggs and pancakes for breakfast. Of course, I had ordered all of those things from Garden Grocer in an effort to get DH to do the same thing!

But, as usual I was up way earlier then anyone else and by 7 was showered and dressed and drinking my coffee on the balcony!!!

I decided to treat DH and make breakfast myself! So, at about 7:30 I ventured into the kitchen to start breakfast. Both DSís were sleeping in the living room but they had started to stir, so I figured it was safe.

Soon enough the smell of cooking bacon had everyone stirring ;)

Everyone had a yummy breakfast and a nice slow morning!!!

Then it was time for MIL, the kids and I to get ready for the pool!

DH and FIL had their plans to head to Boardwalk to watch the Giants game. The game started at 1 and DH had this grand plan that they should be at ESPN before they open at 11. Okey Dokey!

I told him several time to take a taxi. But noooooooooooo Smarty McSmarty Pants wanted to take the monorail to TTC, take the monorail to Epcot and walk to Boardwalk. Fine, it Ďs a good plan but I figured taking a taxi would take a lot less time! But, who listens to me.

So, they were soon ready to leave and I asked DH a few times if he had everything he needed, park ticket (which I had purchased from undercover tourist), room key, phone, etc.

Yup, he had everything!

So, DH and FIL headed off and MIL and I and the kiddos finished getting ready for the pool and straightened up the room a little. Then we were off the to the pool around 10ish!

When we got out the back door of BLT and headed toward to pool my phone started buzzing because I a text!

Can you guess who it was from?!

Yup, bingo, your right, it was DH telling me to answer my phone in a manor I canít share on a family forum such as Dis! I was rather annoyed that he was not nice in his text but I called him and immediately explained that I didnít answer because in the elevator and I didnít appreciate him being rude to me.

Well, it turns out Smarty McSmarty Pants really didnít have everything he needed! In fact, he had forgotten his park ticket!! Kinda hard to get into Epcot to walk over to Boardwalk without that, huh? :rolleyes1

If I had purchased the tickets from Disney it would have been easy enough to have guest services print him a new card, but I had purchased them from UCT right before they raised ticket prices knowing they would be used! UGH! Should have taken a darn taxi!!!! Remember, donít question the expert! No?!

I had DHís ticket in my wallet which was in my pool bag! So, luckily for DH, I was able to read to guy at guest services the info on the ticket and have a new printed. Crisis averted, kinda! DH and FIL were off through Epcot, MIL, the kiddos and I were at the pool!

Ahhh, time to relax!

The kiddos had a grand time playing and going down the slide 9,000,000 times!

Well, not Ryan. Iím just glad he goes in the pool now! This past summer he spent a lot of time HATING the water! That kinda stinks when you literally live at the beach and you were born into a family that LOVES the water and anything to do with it! Luckily, I found a fantastic swimming teacher who got him in and got him over his fear!

Blowing bubbles!

We stayed at the pool until 1:30ish or so and then headed up to the room to rest, wash up and get ready for an evening at MK and MNSSHP!!!!

We left for MK about 10 minutes before 4 or so. Figuring weíd use out MNSSHP tickets to get at 4 and still make our ADR at LTT at 4:20! And that plan worked out fine!

Soon enough we found ourselves headed into MK, up Main Street and off to LTT!

We checked in and were seated within 2 minutes!

Dinner was yummy!!! The kids enjoyed it too! Well, Dorothy and Johnny enjoyed it, shortly after dinner started Ryan made himself comfy on my lap and fell asleep! LOL! I guess all the fun in the pool tuckered him out!

http://inlinethumb32.webshots.com/47711/2611309760098269115S500x500Q85.jpg (http://family.webshots.com/photo/2611309760098269115wYuWje)

I truly loved the dessert at LTT!!! It was some sort of craisin cobbler thing. WDW is big on craisin (dried cranberry, if youíre wondering) now, Iím not sure if it was just for F&W. But, we actually got bags of them at epcot for free. We didnít eat them, I admit. But the dessert was YUMMY! Iím not afraid to admit that I pretty much ate the whole thing myself!!! It was that yummy!!

Johnny also got some birthday ice cream!!! Video of the singing...

After dinner it was time to get our MNSSHP groove on!!! Kind of, the party hadnít started yet because it was only about 6 ish.

We had to stop for this picture;

http://inlinethumb36.webshots.com/50083/2405892870098269115S500x500Q85.jpg (http://family.webshots.com/photo/2405892870098269115iivJCf)

I really took no pictures at all that night!!!! Iím super sorry!! I found that wrangling Dorothy and Johnny, pushing Ryanís stroller and making sure MIL was with us was a lot to keep track of and there was no way I was going to get pics in as well! Boo!! I assure you, I learned a lesson that night though and took quite a few during our second attendance at MNSSHP!!!

From there we moved on into Fantasyland!

First stop was PhilHarMagic, which is my very favorite thing!!! Love it!!! We got lucky too! We didnít have to wait! The doors opened as we walked in! Woo hoo!!!

After PhilHarMagic we moved onto Pooh!!!! The kiddos loved playing with all the interactive features!

http://inlinethumb14.webshots.com/46605/2642670790098269115S500x500Q85.jpg (http://family.webshots.com/photo/2642670790098269115QMePSc)

I did manage to snag these pics on pooh...

Then we headed off to the teacups! I wasnít to keen on the idea of spinning in a cup at that point! But, I went with it to be a good Mommy!!! The kids, of course, enjoyed it! I felt I tad bit wobbly after, but it was all good!

The kiddos decided they wanted to go on buzz so we headed into Tomorrowland! We stopped at Mickeyís Star Traders to see about buying some Halloween swag! But, I donít think we bought anything!

We moved onto Buzz, but there was a long line so we decided to skip it!

Ryan wanted to ride Pirates again so we headed off to visit Captain Jack again!

While we were walking over to Pirates it was nearing 7 and the 10 minute announcement sounded! Woo hooo!!!

I believe we wait 10 minutes or so to get on Pirates and by the time we got off it was officially MNSSHP!!! Wooo hooo again! LOVE getting in all this good stuff in a short amount of time!

The kiddos decided they wanted to trick or treat!

So we headed into Frontierland to hit the trick or treat trail by Splash! It took a good long while to get through the trail with 9,000 other candy hungry fools! But we made it through with a good amount of candy to show for it!

Then we headed off to the trick or treat stop by the riverboat! We wait there again, but not too long! We also waited with Bernard and Bianca from The Rescuers! These costumes were too darn cute for words!! They loved that I knew right away who they were!!

Once we were done collecting more sugary loot Dorothy and Johnny decided they wanted to ride HM again! I was all for that but Stinky Pants Ryan decided there was no way he was getting on that scary ride! So, MIL volunteered to take the big, non-chicken, kiddos while I waited outside for them.

While we waited I got a text from DH and he was on his over to MK! Without FIL! Ok!

Up next, why was FIL in the room, what would the rest of the night bring, what crisis would pop up next?

Great updates, Melissa. I love the photos from Chef Mickey's. And you can tell how much fun the kiddos are having at the pool -- very cool looking slide.

Excellent update!
You are ninja mom getting up to cook breakfast like that!
I thought we were the only family that had members that took off for parks without their tickets.:rolleyes1

Now I am reminded of the birthday cake that I need to order for December 30th. I have no idea how to go about it.
We are eating at Ohana that night.
Any suggestions?

Well, we know with you that there IS always a crisis. I just hope its nothing serious.

I love those pictures from Chef Mickeys. The kids all look so cute, even though they are looking in different directions. :rotfl:

That cake is gorgeous!

Yum for breakfast in the room. Great way to start the day.

So much for having everything ready to go to ESPN, although THAT crisis was averted.

Love the few party pictures you did get. Looks like a great evening for the party.

We had such a great time at Chef Mickey's and the pool! The kids LOVED that slide!

We definitely had a good time at MNSSHP! I love that party!! Thanks about the costumes! I made DD's skirt and embellished the top to match! She really wanted to be minnie and all the costumes she found were to "babyish!" UGH!

Hope you had a great Thanksgiving!!

Ninja mom!!! I LOVE that!! :lmao::cool1: I tell you, I never thought you'd find me cooking on vacation!!!

No, your not the only family who goes to the park without tickets! We've done it before!! But, this was the first time it was done with tickets from Undercover Tourist! Grr!!!

Call Poly private dining for the cake! They should be able to help you! Explain to them that you want a special cake, not the standard (crappy) cake you get from ordering it at the podium!

Good update!!

The cake came out sooooooo good!! I was very impressed!!

The treats were kind of a mix of good and not so great! They definitely mix in the generic stuff and raisins! We got quite a bit each time, we actually still have some in bowl in the kitchen that needs to be tossed when the kids aren't looking ;)

Well, we know with you that there IS always a crisis. I just hope its nothing serious.

:lmao::rotfl2: You know me all too well! There really always is some sort of crisis! Honestly, just this morning I thought our heat was broken! I almost had a heart attack as I suddenly saw all the trip money going to fix it! Luckily it was something stupid and DH fixed it!

They did such a good job with the cake! I was very, very pleased! Our waitress said that all the CM's were talking about it!

We had a very nice evening at the party!

PTR update!

This trip was born from after our trip in December of 2010! That trip was a different kind of trip. A trip that I care not to repeat! Ever!

It was the whole family, DH, the kids and I, MIL, FIL, SIL, her DH and their little one. Letís just say that certain family members caused problem after problem and it was, at times, less then magical!

Christmas is my time of year! I love it! I love the happiness and whimsy!! The love and giving!!

The only part of the Christmas season that I dislike is the 28th, which is my birthday. Iíve always kinda felt like it was a let down after a big exciting Christmas. So I decided a long time ago to take my birthday for what it is and pore myself into Christmas!

The point of the trip last December was to enjoy all the fabulous Christmas things WDW has to offer! It didnít work out that way!

I missed the Candlelight Processional, we didnít get to see any of the storytellers in Epcot, we missed the decorations at Boardwalk and Beach Club, I ended up soooo annoyed at MVMCP I thought I may lose it!!!

So, DH promised me a re-do! Woo hooo!!

Originally it was going to be a family trip, just DH and I and the kiddos but plans changed and we ended up doing the family trip, including MIL and FIL, in October! So, December became just DH and I, Christmas and an early birthday for me!!! Woo hooo again!

I originally book the trip back in the early summer, I think. I reallllllllllllllllly wanted to stay at VWL. I love WL and couldnít imagine staying someplace else during the holiday season! I waitlisted VWL but was concerned the waitlist wouldnít come through.

Then I had a genius idea, if I do say so myself!

I would rent the points I would have used for the VWL stay and use the money to pay for a room at WL!!! Woo hoo!!!

So, I cancelled the DVC reservation, listed the points for rent on Dis, and booked a room at WL! Yes, once again, Wooo hooo!!!

When the free dining offer came out I asked the very best travel agent, Brook (brookelizabeth), I know to take over the reservation for me! This was before I went into the business myself! Brook did and we had a room at WL with free dining!!!! One more, woo hoo!!!

Of course, along the way I made my ADRís and got my CP package!! The ADRís have changed numerous times!! NUMEROUS!!! LOL! The CP package was a rather painless process this year! I spent maybe 20 minutes on hold and was able to get Le Cellier! Not like last year when I couldnít even get through and was on hold for 90 minutes!

As of now our trip looks like this;

Thursday, December 1st
7:05 am Flight to MCO
Check into WL!
Head to DHS!
3:30 pm Mama Melrose
Osborne Lights

Friday, December 2nd
Resort Hopping! Monorail Resorts!
12:50 Grand Floridian Cafť
Mickeyís Very Merry Christmas Party

Saturday, December 3rd
Epcot!!
DTD!
6:45 Raglan Roads

Sunday, December 4th
Resort Hopping!! Beach Club, Boardwalk, etc
ESPN Zone for lunch and football
Mickeyís Very Merry Christmas Party 2!

Monday, December 5th
Epcot!
World Showcase! Brook came up with a fabulous touring plan to try and ensure that we get to see all the storytellers I listed on my itinerary with out spending too much time running back and forth!
1:45 Le Cellier lunch with CP package!!
5 pm CP!!!

Tuesday, December 6th
Animal Kingdom!
Visit AKL
5:30 Sleigh Ride at Fort Wilderness!
7:30 Artist Point!

Wednesday, December 7th
MK, for an hour or 2
2:05 Flight home!

The plan could change numerous times over the next 5 days! LOL! Iíve been changing and tweaking like a crazy women! It could also change once at WDW! It may be hard to get me out of WL!!!! Do you think they would set up a bed under the tree for me? Probably not!

This will be the first time weíre renting a car! I figured it would be handy for the resort hoping and I wanted to see what it was like to have a car at WDW! I joined National Rent A Carís Emerald Club for free last year via Mousesavers. I got a great price of the car with that membership! So weíll see how it goes!

I canít wait for this trip! I am a bit nervous, as I usually am, about leaving the kiddos! But I know theyíll be having fun with Grandma and Grandpa! Iím also not nearly as ahead of the game as I usually am! I havenít packed the kids clothes to take to Grandmas yet, I havenít even begun to pack my clothes or DHís clothes, not to mention decorating the house for Christmas, doing our Christmas cards etc!!! Yikes!!! But, I vow not to stress ;)

It will all be good and the trip will go off without a hitch!!!

OH, I wish I was doing a trip like you have next week!! DH would never go without the kids at this point in their lives (although I would for a short trip!). Someday! Brook rocks!!! What great plans you have! You will have so much fun!!!

I love this time of year - everywhere, but especially at WDW! We are listening to Holiday Wishes now, baking cookies (well I am) and we decorated our Disney tree this morning. I'm getting in the spirit!!! Just have to ignore my checkbook and credit card statements! That's a downer!!

SO - You LOVE your iPhone 4S? Looks like we are upgrading from our 3Gs. DH's won't hold a battery charge for the day and he doesn't have an office phone (he's on the road) so he NEEDS a new one. He thinks I should get one too so we are on the same 2 year renewal schedule. Do you have AT&T or Verizon? We are AT&T and plan to stay because they have grandfathered our unlimited data plan to continue. If we switch, it will cost so much more!

Okay - now you better go pack somebody's something!!!

Melissa - I must say - renting the points and using the $ for a regular room with free dining is really a stroke of genius. I never thought of doing that and the dining plan these days is so darn expensive.

So how did it work out? You must fill me in. If/when you get a chance let me know how it translated out money wise. Send me an email because I think that is something I would like to try in the future.

How lovely that you have such a nice long trip. I can't believe you are doing two Xmas parties. I am not even doing one. Should I feel bad about that? :rotfl: I liked the party, but I went on a sold out night and it was just way too crowded for me. My house is clean, although I'll have to clean 5 or 6 more times between now and when we leave, the house is decorated, aside for the tree (which DH won't let us put up until the 15th for some reason!), our christmas cards are written!

Yup, you are going to love that car. It could even ruin you.
We are going to use Disney transportation on our Christmas trip until we send the kids home THEN we get the rental.
The trouble would have been there was no way we could have fit 9 people with 2 car seats into a rental and kept everyone happy.

The Sleigh Ride, we did it last year. SO MUCH FUN!!!!:thumbsup2

When I call about the cake, do I quote you one the crappy part?:rotfl2:

We can totally do a car when it's me, DH and the kids but if we start adding more people we have to get a bigger car!

Yeah, 9 people with 2 car seats you'll need a bus!!!! :lmao:

I can't wait for the sleigh ride! I'm keeping my fingers crossed because of as now there's rain in the forecast for that day! I'll cry if it's cancelled! It's one of the things I'm looking forward to the most!!

Yes my dear, you may quote on the crappy part! :rotfl2: Tell them "my Dis friend Melissa said..." they charge like $50 for a podium cake and you get a cake like I could get at the awful grocery store up the street from my house! Of course, the cake chatter thread has enabled me to order fancy, expensive cakes! It's all good though!

Oh gosh! I forgot to comment on Raglan Rd!
I hope you are going after 7pm. The dancing and music is fantabulous!
It has inspired me to seek out Irish Step Dancing lessons. I plan to start after my Master's program...:rolleyes1
I even purchased a CD. love the music there, especially when they take requests and someone asks for "Danny Boy".

If you think it might rain for your sleigh ride, I would take along an umbrella. Unless it's pouring, I'm not so sure they rain out.

We love Raglan Road!!! We've been there a several times! But, usually with a larger group! So, we've always ended up not really being able to see! Boo! I'm hoping to have a seat we can really see from! Our reservation is for 6:45! I'm hoping that's a perfect time! Enough time to get in, get some drinks and an appy and see the show!!!

Our family is very irish so the music and entertainment there is perfect! SIL did irish step dancing when she was a kid! She even marched in the St Patricks Day Parade in Manhattan once!

Your very ambitious taking step dancing lessons after you finish your masters! I'm not sure I could do that and not break an ankle or something!

The weather now looks a lot more promising! There is no rain at all in todays forecast!

I'm not sure who our narrator is going to be! I'm a little nervous about that! They have Edward James Olmos listed for the 2 later shows in the 5th but not the 5 pm show! I'm not sure what that means!!!

I'll definitely text you ;)

We're home! We had a fabulous trip! The weather was perfect! We ate, we drank, we toured, we rode rides and just had a great time!

I'll be back very soon with a TR update here and a link to my new TR, but first I need a title for it ;)

Welcome Back! Glad you had a great time! Title for your TR hmmmmmm.....How about.....

How many times can my kids call and text me on one trip?

How much fun can I have with my DH without getting salt on my ****?

How many drink pictures does it really take to torture my DIS friends who are home working (or stuck in rush hour traffic)?

I've got more, if you're interested. :rotfl:

Ok, so I'm getting back in the groove after our trip last week! Not to mention I just started my TR! Come over and join in!! You can find it here; Joy From the World! (http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2845250)

I left off with us at MNSSHP! Actually with DS4 and I waiting outside HM for MIL and the 2 big kiddos! While Ryan and I waited I got a text from DH that he was on his way to MK!

I also texted Tracy (manntra) and Christine (2xcited2sleep) to find out if they were in MK and where they were! It turns out that they were at HM as well and waiting in the queue! I told them that we would wait outside to say hi to them after! I also texted Jen (jenjolt) and made plans to meet for the later parade!

DH soon arrived and explained that FIL had been a bit, ummm inebriated, and needed to go to bed. Ok! Apparently they had a lot of fun at ESPN!

It also turns out that DH had a bit of a headache himself. He kept saying that he didnít know why he had a headache, blah, blah, blah! Until I explained to him that it wasnít a headache! Itís called a hangover!!! HELLO!!!! :lmao:

MIL and the kiddos returned and the kids wanted to go to the HM kiosk shop. MIL bought them cute light up necklaces.

We waited a few minutes and soon Tracy, her niece and Christine arrived! We said a quick hello and chatted a bit! Then we were off again! The kids decided they wanted to ride IASW again. It was pretty much a walk on! We did a trick or treating and the kiddos decided they wanted to go on Buzz!

After a quick adventure on Buzz I mentioned being tired and Johnny decided he wanted to go back to the room. Which meant Ryan wanted to go to! We talked for a few minutes about what to do. Dorothy wanted to stay so DH volunteered to stay in MK with her.

We headed toward Main Street to discover that there was 9,000,000 there waiting for HalloWishes! I told DH that the boys and I would stay to watch it because there was no way I would be able to fight the crowd out!!

I love HalloWishes!!! Of course, I skipped the pics ;)

Then the boys, MIL and I headed out!

We got back to BLT quickly and soon we were headed to bed!!! Of course, DH and DD weren't far behind! It couldn't have been more then 45 minutes before they returned!

Day 3!!!

We slept in a little, me too!!! We had breakfast in the room. Nothing special that morning, just fruit and yogurt for me, donuts for the kids and bagels for DH, MIL and FIL!

Soon we were off to Epcot, leaving MIL and FIL in the room!

We took the monorail to TTC and then transferred to the Epcot Monorail. While we were walking up the ramp we found this guy waiting to greet us!

http://inlinethumb19.webshots.com/21394/2304296250098269115S500x500Q85.jpg (http://family.webshots.com/photo/2304296250098269115WTQWZK)

The monorail ride was enjoyable and we soon found our way through security and turnstiles and into Epcot!

http://inlinethumb47.webshots.com/49326/2394622500098269115S500x500Q85.jpg (http://family.webshots.com/photo/2394622500098269115XctJBx)

For some reason I was again a giant failure at picture taking, boo!! I promise my December trip report will make up for it! Iíll try to keep with short as to not bore you! LOL!

Our first ride was SSE, which was basically a walk on!

Then we headed to the land! Actually, I believe I headed to the land to get FP for Soarin while DH headed into innoventions with the kiddos.

Innoventions is one of my least favorite attractions in WDW, not sure why but I feel like they could come up with something better. So I took my time getting the FP, using the ladies room and enjoying a sunny, beautiful day!

When I met up with the family again we headed over for a quick ride on Nemo! We toured the seas briefly and did turtle talk with crush!

Then we headed off to see Figment at Ryanís request!

After Nemo DH got a call from MIL and FIL, they were finally heading into Epcot! We met them by Electric Umbrella because it was time to get some lunch! After lunch it was time to head back Soarin. DH decided to let FIL use his FP for Soarin. So, him, DD, DS8 and I all rode together!

Then we headed into WS for a nice stroll and a few drinks before it was time to head back to the room to get ready for dinner!

DH, MIL, FIL and the kiddos were going off to Whispering Canyons. I was going someplace much more fancy ;)

Great update, Melissa. Glad you got to meet up and say hi to some DISer's after HM. I hate getting stuck for the fireworks when trying to leave, but then end up being happy when I see them because I love them (I'm with you -- Hallowishes is awesome).

Sounds like a great start to your day at Epcot. I, too, don't care for Innoventions...just doesn't do it for me.

I can't wait to hear where you went to eat (but then to me anything would be better than WCC :lmao::lmao::lmao:).

So, I left off with myself getting all gussed up for a fancy dinner while DH, the kids, MIL and FIL got ready for dinner at Whispering Canyons Cafť!

I left the room and headed for the monorail! A few stops away I found myself at my destination! GF!

I was the first to arrive of the group that I would be dining with that evening, but after a few minutes Jen (jenjolt) arrived!

We chatted for a few about how excited we were to be for the meal we were about to have and soon the rest of our dinner party arrived! Tracy (manntra), her niece, and our dinner planner extraordinary Christine (2xcited2sleep!)

So, we were off to check in for dinner at the Chefís Table at Victoria and Albertís!! Woo hooo!!

I believe we waited a few minutes before we were escorted through the main dining room, through the kitchen and back to the Chefís Table!!!

The Maitre D explained how the meal would work and such. Of course, we briefly discussed the purse stool as well! Yes, at V&A there is a small stool next to each chair so you can put your purse on it! The Maitre D also explained the wine pairing, which Tracy, Christine and I were happy take ;) He also took our picture!

http://inlinethumb29.webshots.com/476/2391229050098269115S500x500Q85.jpg (http://family.webshots.com/photo/2391229050098269115VyQtbU)

The Chef also came over, spoke to us and toasted to a wonderful evening with us!

Then we began to enjoy the most fabulous meal ever! I ate things I never thought I would, enjoyed things I thought I would and canít a bad thing about the meal!

First came the Amuse-Bouche, which to the best of my knowledge literally translates from French to English as Mouth Amuser!

I didnít get a picture of it because my camera has issues with taking food pics! The horror!

It consisted of a Soft-poached Quail Egg with Galilee Caviar, Ahi Tuna with Pickled Ginger, Maine Lobster Charmoula and Butternut Squash Soup. It was paired with a Cuvee Brut. My least favorite thing of the night was the Quail Egg, Iím not big on eggs in general so that could have had a lot to do with it! Everything else was fabulous!!! I would love, love, love to have some of the Butternut Squash Soup right now!

Next was Heirloom Tomatoes, Iberico Ham-wrapped Gulf Shrimp, and Burrata Cheese with Yellow Tomato Gazpacho. It was paired with Michel Reddle Sancerre ďLes TuilieresĒ, Loire 2009!

http://inlinethumb31.webshots.com/50014/2144534270098269115S500x500Q85.jpg (http://family.webshots.com/photo/2144534270098269115McCAek)

Up next was Cold ďSmokedĒ Niman Ranch Lamb with Fuji Apples and Curry Dressing with Grans-Fassian Piesporter Kabinett Riesling 2007. This was probably my favorite course of the night. The presentation alone was phenomenal. But I hate lamb and curry. But this was so good! I wish I could remember more about it other then I know I loved it! I also loved the wine! It was FABULOUS!

A picture of the kitchen,

http://inlinethumb35.webshots.com/48418/2112226840098269115S500x500Q85.jpg (http://family.webshots.com/photo/2112226840098269115USUdiL)

A picture of the room,

Next came Sake-Soy Marinated Alaskan King Salmon with BokChoy and Soy Beans. It was paired with Kanbara ďBride of the FoxĒ Goltyakumangoku Junmai Ginjo, Nigata, which was Sake. Iím not a huge fan of salmon, Iím not sure why. But this was unbelievably good! I know Jen is also not a big fan of Salmon either and she enjoyed this dish a lot as well! The Sake was a bit much for me! Yikes!! It gave me goosebumps it was soooo strong! It reminded me of grain alcohol! But, I tried it and am glad I did! I also must have forgotten to take a picture of this course! Opps!

After that was Roasted Quail with Asian Pear and Serrano Ham Jus. The pairing was Cerrato Rossana Dolcetto díAlba, Piedmont 2006! While I didnít enjoy the quail egg I did enjoy quail! I was a little worried that it would be gamey but it wasnít at all!

http://inlinethumb35.webshots.com/36450/2711801760098269115S500x500Q85.jpg (http://family.webshots.com/photo/2711801760098269115qahuij)

Next was Veal Sweetbreads and Shank with Chantrelle Mushroom Ragout paired with Domaine La Roquete Chaeauneuf du Pape, Rhone 2005. Yes, sweetbreads! This was one thing I was a little concerned about the chef serving! I wasnít sure I would be able to eat it! Just getting past what sweetbreads are was a little work for me. But, in the given situation, the given environment and the fact that everything they had served us was amazing I felt I had to try it! It was different, it was strong but it wasnít bad! It definitely wasnít what I thought it would be like. I didnít eat the whole thing, because it was so strong of it but I would try it again!

http://inlinethumb02.webshots.com/22593/2102354900098269115S500x500Q85.jpg (http://family.webshots.com/photo/2102354900098269115cfYXdd)

After the Sweetbreads we moved on to Australian Kobe-Style Beef with Garlic-Potato Puree. The pairing was Clos Du Bois Marlstone Cabernet Sauvignon, Alexander Valley 2006. Honestly, I canít remember too much about this course other then Iím sure it was fabulous!!

http://inlinethumb17.webshots.com/48528/2579813520098269115S500x500Q85.jpg (http://family.webshots.com/photo/2579813520098269115Gvylry)

After the beef we took a break from our meal and went to the lobby to walk off some of the food and shop!!!

Picture in the lobby,

http://inlinethumb61.webshots.com/46972/2866417510098269115S500x500Q85.jpg (http://family.webshots.com/photo/2866417510098269115ftPdJy)

Upon our return to the dining room we moved onto cheese! The Cheese Plate consisted of Southern Belle Chevre, Gouda Goat, Colston Bassett Stilton and 24 Month Parmigiano-Reggiano, it was paired with Quinta do Crasto Late Bottle Vintage Porto 2006. Again, cheese isnít something Iím overly fond of but I enjoyed most of the choices, the parm was a bit strong for my liking though. The Port was more to my liking ;)

http://inlinethumb61.webshots.com/47868/2118744490098269115S500x500Q85.jpg (http://family.webshots.com/photo/2118744490098269115OXFELE)

I believe it was also around this time that we overheard the chef in the kitchen discussing the thickness of what appear to be prosciutto. One of the younger chefs was slicing it and one of the older, apparently more experienced, chefs came over to look at it. He told the younger chef that it was too thick, gave him a few pointers and went back to what he was doing. A few minutes later the older chef asked the younger one if it was getting any thinner. The younger chef replied ďnot anytime soon,Ē to which the older chef replied ďthatís not good enough!Ē It was the closest we got to a Gordon Ramsey kind of moment! LOL!

Next was Orange Panna Cotta with with Chartreuse-Pineapple Sorbet! This had a fantastic flavor!! It was so good!

http://inlinethumb52.webshots.com/9267/2615472890098269115S500x500Q85.jpg (http://family.webshots.com/photo/2615472890098269115QIKzik)

Last was Mocha-scented Tanzaine Chocolate Mousse Timbale and Chocolate Cocktail! I believe the Maitre D may have referred to this as ďchocolate, chocolate and more chocolate!Ē It was divine and it was sprinkled with edible gold!

http://inlinethumb24.webshots.com/48983/2870199740098269115S500x500Q85.jpg (http://family.webshots.com/photo/2870199740098269115pSuVif)

I canít say enough about this meal, the service or the experience! The food was unlike anything Iíve ever eaten before, everything was beyond phenomenal! Like I said earlier, I ate things that night that I never would have eaten outside of the room. The company that the meal was consumed in was also amazing!

We had such a good time in the 5 or so hours we were there! We ate, drank and laughed! I think the chefs and Maitre D all thought we were crazy by the end of the evening! It was such a fabulous night! An amazing meal with fabulous friends! Couldnít ask for anything better!

If any of my dinner companions would like to chime in please go ahead!

Melissa, you did a great job of describing dinner! I agree, it was a wonderful, special, fantastic evening! :goodvibes I was definitely a bit concerned going in, being a fairly picky & definitely unadventurous eater, but I told myself I was going to try everything and am so glad I did. Who knew I actually like salmon when it is well prepared??

Here's one of the pics you missed:

Amuse Bouche - I dream of that butternut squash soup (can't believe I'm saying that) -- so good!!
http://i244.photobucket.com/albums/gg34/2xcited2sleep/156-Copy.jpg

Salmon - I agree the sake was "give you goosebumps strong" ... but seems I drank it anyway... :rolleyes1 Guess I missed a pic of that one too!

So, so so glad we had an opportunity to try it. We totally lucked out on getting the ADR! :thumbsup2 One other note for anyone considering this in the future - the V&A site says the Chef's Table is for "up to 10" - I really can't imagine having any more than six without it getting really crowded at the table. Just my two cents.

Amazing food, tremendous service and so neat to watch the goings on in the kitchen... highly recommend it!! In fact, had gone in thinking this was a "once in a lifetime" kind of experience but now think I might like to do it again! :upsidedow

That was an unforgettable and amazing meal and night! I had the best time with you ladies!!! Loved every moment and as you said I tried things I would never in a million years order and loved every bite!! Especially that salmon...never would have ordered that was a bit worried about eating it and it was just perfection!!!!! Watching the chefs cook, spending time with some great friends, eating amazing food, it doesn't get much better than that!!!

Definitely was a great experience and I'm so glad I was able to do it!!

Seeing all those food pictures makes me hungry LOL!!!

OOOH I also enjoyed the chocolates when I got back home...those were delish!!!!!!

Have to agree with C on the number of people...after 6 it would get quite cozy in that room!!!!!!!!!!!

I dream of this meal. I could totally do it again. The wine itself was worth it!!! :rotfl2: But let me say I consider myself a pretty seasoned drinker and this really kicked my butt!! I blame it all on the sake. Melissa and I LOVED that riesling....we mentioned that to our "butler" and he graciously filled us up again...maybe even more than once ;)

Here is a picture of my niece and I giddily getting ready. If you have teens you know that a bathroom picture in the mirror is a must. I just don't get it.

This is salt that was served....as I recall the butter was made there and served unsalted. I was able to purchase the black and pinkish salt at DTD in the "tea store" where they sell all of the kitchen stuff. I have used it a few times since I have been home :goodvibes

I too was not a fan of the quail egg...but I ate it  I ate everything :rolleyes1 Was scared/nervous about the sweetbreads. I wanted to try it because I knew I would NEVER in my real life. Delicious..as was everything else. This coming from a former 15 year vegetarian

Each time we left the table we were escorted through the kitchen and then the dining room. The break was nice to walk around....we shopped. I bought a coverup and apparently some Basin bath salts.....sake remember :rotfl2: When we finished and walked out for the last time every chef stopped working and personally thanked us for coming.

It was such an amazing experience. Loved getting dressed up and of course couldn't beat the company :grouphug: I am a huge fan of cooking shows...Top Chef and many of the Foodtv shows so it was fun to see a real kitchen in action. They were actually very quiet and methodical in their work.

:rotfl2::laughing::rotfl::lmao: OMG I am laughing so hard I am crying. I had some questionable purchases myself.

There were lots of laughs around our table. We'd like to think we entertained the chefs as much as they entertained us. ;) For that reason I'm not sure whether I'd enjoy the dining room as much - I think it is typically pretty quiet in there and in many ways much more "formal."

As Tracy mentioned, it was super impressive that as we left each one of them stopped what they were doing and personally thanked us for coming (& for the entertainment ). Definitely a classy operation and Disney service all the way.

Wow! I must admit that I know nothing upon nothing about Victoria and Albert's! I don't think I'm fancy enough (or adventurous enough, as far as eating goes) for that place! That's so cool that you got to go! FIVE HOURS? Wow! That's awesome. I'm glad yall had such a great time! PS... I just looked up what sweetbread is, and WHAT?! That's the most deceiving name ever! :lmao:

Hi, Melissa! Hope you had a very merry Christmas and a happy birthday today as well! I am going to try very hard to keep up with your trip report from now on! :goodvibes

What a fun night out with the girls! That's a fantastic picture of you all with your wine in the GF!

All of your food looks delicious -- like you said, I would never imagine trying some of that stuff, so how neat that you not only got to try it but liked it as well! :thumbsup2

Thanks Jackie!!

It was amazing night and I'm so glad we did it!!! I couldn't have asked for a better meal or better company!

Thank you!! It was such an amazing evening! I was so happy and excited that I enjoyed everything (other then the egg!) I felt exactly the same way about the salmon and the lamb! I didn't know I would enjoy both so much when it was prepared well!!

Here's one of the pics you missed:

Amuse Bouche - I dream of that butternut squash soup (can't believe I'm saying that) -- so good!!
http://i244.photobucket.com/albums/gg34/2xcited2sleep/156-Copy.jpg

LOVED that soup!!!!

Salmon - I agree the sake was "give you goosebumps strong" ... but seems I drank it anyway... :rolleyes1 Guess I missed a pic of that one too!

I think I took 2 or 3 sips before I gave up! I don't think I would had remember the rest of the evening if I drank it all!

I'm also soooo glad that you were able to get the ADR!! It was so a great night! I can't imagine 10 people fitting at that table! I honestly can't imagine much more then 6!

Amazing food, tremendous service and so neat to watch the goings on in the kitchen... highly recommend it!! In fact, had gone in thinking this was a "once in a lifetime" kind of experience but now think I might like to do it again! :upsidedow

Agreed! I would do it again in a heartbeat!!

So does this mean you will be doing it again anytime in the future? :rolleyes1 Just checking so I can get in on the action!

Cute dress by the way!

::yes::

I had such a great time that night!! Everything was amazing!!

I forgot about the chocolate!! John ate mine!!

Wow, what an awesome meal! Most of those foods I'd never order (only because I don't go to fancy places that serve them!), but they sure do know how to make a beautiful presentation!! What a fun evening for all of you!

Question - was anyone else deserting their spouse that night? Or were you traveling without them? My DH would probably not like it there, so it would be fun to do with girlfriends.

Note to self: Watch it with the sake!

Happy Belated Birthday Melissa!

:lmao: I love your question!! My DH was deserted! Well, not really! He had his parents and the kids! His mom lets him get away with a lot more anyway ;) The other hubby of the group was at home in a different state! Probably eating cereal for dinner as he's been known to do! The rest are living the single life ;)

We really needed that break! We need to standup and let gravity help the digestive process! :lmao: We were there for 5 hours but I really didn't feel like we were there that long! It really went rather quickly! There was never a "when is it going to end?!" moment! Quite the opposite! When the desserts started coming I knew it would be over soon and it was terrible!!!

Before I begin this update, please excuse me! Once again this day was an epic fail in picture taking!! Sorry!!

The morning after my wonderful, amazing V&A experience we slept in a little and decided to skip breakfast in the room for any necessary snack in the park! Especially because we had an early lunch ADR!

So we got ready quickly and headed out to DHS! We still made it there by a few minutes after 9! Woo hoo!!

We stopped for a photopass picture on our way in!

http://inlinethumb04.webshots.com/49987/2048746080098269115S600x600Q85.jpg (http://family.webshots.com/photo/2048746080098269115dOuLag)

Then a pic from me

http://inlinethumb04.webshots.com/49667/2062801000098269115S600x600Q85.jpg (http://family.webshots.com/photo/2062801000098269115BuelSD)

DH was a little dismayed by our stop! He was ready to run toward TSM! But, we got there and found that the wait was only 20 minutes! I got us FP for later while DH parked DS4ís stroller with the kiddos! Then we got in line and waited! The wait time was about right on the money! We did something we hae never done before when we boarded TSM! DH went alone, I went with DS4 and DD and DS9 went together! I was a teensy bit nervous about this arrangement! Ok, it may have been a little more then teensy! DD and DS9 can go from being best friends to despising each other in .0000001 seconds flat! They go from quietly playing legos together to me having to literally pull them apart without warning! So, I was worried that weíd get off the ride to tears and screams, or worse yet, Iíd hear them screaming at each other through the ride! But, I decided to let them do it! They really wanted to and I warned them that if there were any issues they would, without a doubt, be spending the rest of the day in the room! We got on and had a fabulous journey through TS! No incidents, no problems! Woo hooo!!!

With everyone very excited about their ride and me convincing DS4 that he had won and got a better score then anyone else in the our family it was time to move on!

DS9 was bursting at the seams to ride Star Tours so we headed that way! I was pleasantly surprised to find the wait at ST to be something like 15 minutes! Woo hoo! So, DS9, DD and I got online leaving DH and DS4 to wait on a bench!

I have to tell you, I really, really enjoyed the new ride! BUT, I made me a little woozy!! I donít know if it was the wine the night before, but if I had eaten breakfast I may have lost it!!! UGH!

We did a little shopping at the drop shop and then it was time to move on! We stopped for a cup of coffee and a cookie and headed toward Disney Junior!

Luckily, I finished my coffee along the way and we wrapped up the half eaten cookies! Ryan was soooo excited to see Disney Junior because Jake and the Neverland Pirates are in the show now!! He was glued to me so no pics!

After DJ DH, DD and DS9 headed to GMR! DS4, Ryan, wasnít feeling it so he and I sat it out in place of doing a little browsing in the shops and getting a photopass pic taken!

http://inlinethumb35.webshots.com/47202/2408138520098269115S600x600Q85.jpg (http://family.webshots.com/photo/2408138520098269115DWtGPr)
Not sure what I'm looking at!! LOL!

Then it was time to meet DH and the other 2 kiddos outside our lunch destination for the day! Hollywood and Vine!

Admittedly this isnít one of my favorite places to eat. But, I was going more on the experience for DS4 with this one! We checked in and waited a few minutes before our name was called and were escorted in! There was hardly anyone in the restaurant! But, it was only around 11:40ish at that point.

Our waitress came over and got our drink order and then we proceeded to the buffet! It was pretty run of the mill Disney buffet food, but thatís what I expected!

Soon the Disney Junior characters started the rounds!

We had a decent lunch and had full bellies then it was time to venture onward! MIL and FIL had arrived in the park while we were at lunch and were waiting on a bench near by! That seemed kinda silly to me, before we had left the room they gave us the impression that they were going to skip the park that day! FILís back was really bothering him. Not to mention, we werenít sure how much longer we would be staying in the park! The weather was rapidly growing cloudy and it had rained a bit while we were eating lunch! Oh well!

Meeting up with MIL and FIL we discussed our next move! Our FP for TSM were due but DS9 was dying to see Indiana Jones! We discussed me and MIL taking him and letting the rest of the family ride TSM but FIL was insistant that he would go to Indy. Ok! It seemed to make DS9 feel special that he got to go with MIL and FIL alone! So off we went with plans to meet at the hat after all was said and done!

DS4, DD, DH and I all enjoyed our TS adventure again and DS4 was thoroughly convinced he was the TSM champ! DS9, MIL and FIL all had a fabulous time at Indy and DS9 picked out an action figure at the shop outside of Indy!

With the weather growing increasingly gray we decided to head out! But not without a little shopping (for MIL) and browsing (for me) before we left!

http://inlinethumb13.webshots.com/10828/2494300690098269115S600x600Q85.jpg (http://family.webshots.com/photo/2494300690098269115HRbKpF)

Then it was time to head out!

Up next, what would the afternoon bring? What would be our dinner destination?

What a fun morning at DHS.

I was wondering why anyone would go to H&V...but with the young ones and the characters, I can see the reason.

Nice on the short wait times that morning!! What was the date?

I think it's cool that your little guy got to be the TSM champ and see his favorite Disney Junior friends! So special - you can tell by his smile that he's super happy!!

Plus - your older son getting to spend special time with his grandparents - that's nice.

I have been MIA on the dis for the last month and a half so I am catching up!

:thumbsup2What a great view from your room!

I loved your son's cake at Chef Mickey's. Too cute!

Wow, what an amazing dinner at Victoria and Alberts. It looked like you girls had a great time.

Now, I need to get over to your other report.

Tracy - I love your pictures and your review of V&A's. Let me just ask this....Do you have to wear a black dress to go there. :rotfl: I think I just bought the best dress for eating there, but its not black? But its like a camo dress - you can't see your stomach when its bursting. ;)

Melissa - I love all the family pictures from Hs. They are awesome and I'm so glad you and Ryan got some alone time. What do you mean epic fail with the pictures? They are wonderful. :goodvibes

:lmao: about the black dresses! I think Jen's dress may have been blue, but don't quote me on that!

Ahhhhh, family pics!! Hold on sister you ain't seen nothing yet! Normally I would have taken a lot more pictures! Queue pics, ride pics etc, but I didn't!

The first Star Tours ride was a little nauseating! But it was still very cool and I won't hesitate to do it again!

Ryan is such a little cutie! He was soooo excited at H&V! Especially to see June!!

Welcome back! I know all about being absent from Dis! Usually for me I ended up missing the whole summer because summer around here is busy!

I was so please with how the cake came out! Chef Brain at the Contemporary outdid himself! DS loved it!!

V&A was phenomenal!!!!

Maybe some of you can help me on the Star Tours ride. I am a bit prone to motion sickness and do take dramamine when we cruise and at WDW. I DO NOT ride the teacups at all. I can handle Soarin' and BTMRR (I get a little queasy by the end).

How is Star Tours for motion sickness? I would like to try it. But I don't do much at DHS and we will skip the park b/c the only thing we really like is TSMM and GMR plus shows.

Just wondering if I might be able to handle it with Dramamine...

Honestly, I'm not sure! DH gets motion sick, that's why he stays off of ST. But, he gets it really easily. I really think that it depends on what trip you get. Our second ride, a few days later, was different and I didn't feel it at all. I bet if you post something on the theme park board you'll get some great answers.

Moving along! Back at BLT after a fun morning at DHS we rested a bit before the kiddos decided that they reallllllly needed to go to the arcade! The sky was way to threatening, the weather forecast way too ominous, and you canít kept Johnny away from video games! I wasnít all that excited about the prospect of going, not to mention I was in the middle of straightening up the room and doing laundry! So DH volunteered to take them!! He actually volunteered!! That is unheard of for my DH! He would have done it if asked him to but volunteering is not something DH does!! I guess I got lucky that day!

They were gone well over an hour! Another shocker!! The kids love it when Daddy takes them to the park, but itís usually like 30 Ė 45 minutes! Not long enough for them!

I was able to finish straightening, change the laundry, do a few little odds and ends for travel clients and take a bath! Woo hoo!!

Once DH and the kiddos arrived back it was nearing time to leave for dinner so DH and the kiddos freshened up, MIL and FIL (who had spent the afternoon on the balcony) got ready and we headed over to the main building to get a cab!

Iíve grown quite fond of taking a cab here and there at WDW! We donít do it often, but for a trip to another resort or a trip to DTD (I hate the buses to DTD!) itís sooooo much easier! Not to mention it had started to rain and I didnít want to fuss around!

So we were off Yacht Club! It started raining quite hard while we were on our way and I was very happy for the existence of the Port a Cochere!

We checked in at Yachtsman and were soon seated! No pictures were taken because I didnít want to take my camera out in the rain! Appetizers were ordered! I havenít a clue whatever one ordered. But I know I ordered the Lobster Bisque! It was good!! Not Chefís good, but close! Johnny and Ryan ordered got chicken noodle soup as their appetizers! They loved it! Dorothy opted for no appetizer because she wanted an adult meal and there was nothing she wanted for appetizers.

Next, dinner! I ordered a filet while DH and FIL ordered Rib Eyes and MIL ordered salmon. I believe Dorothy ordered a strip steak! That kid LOVES a good steak! Johnny and Ryan both got spaghetti! Everything was very, very good! Though I had a hardtime eating! I think I was still full from V&A the night before!

I believe we skipped dessert because we were too full! While we ate it poured!!! I mean poured like holy heck, CRAZY!

Luckily, it had slowed down a bit when we left and we went to get a cab! We were soon back at BLT and getting ready for the next day!

With a good night sleep we got up the next day, ate breakfast and got ready! We made sure to get dressed right before we left the room because I would have died if our clothes had gotten messed up!

Why?

Because we were having pictures taken! Not a photopass photo shoot! But, a real, professional photographer! I had thought about doing the photopass shoot, we did it in 09 at WL. But, upon doing a little research on dis I found that the price had gone up considerably and a lot of disers werenít really pleased with the outcome. Then I remembered that I had seen at least one TR where the family had pictures taken by a real photographer, someone who normally does WDW weddings. So, a little more research lead me in the right direction and I called Roots Photography! But, upon speaking to Nathan Root I found out that they werenít actually living in FL anymore and traveled back and forth between FL and TN. Unfortunately they werenít scheduled to be in FL during our trip! So, a little more research lead me to Randy Chapman!

I called his office and got everything set up!

We scheduled to meet him at Boardwalk at 10 am! So, we took a cab again so we wouldnít muss our clothes. We got to Boardwalk a little early and hung out in the lobby a bit.

Soon Randy arrived! He was super nice and so good with the kids! I was also super impressed that he had a few towels with him! With all the rain the night before a lot of stuff was still wet! So, we wiped it down for us!

Anyway, without further adieu our picturesÖ

FANTABULOUS pictures!!!! Good thing you got dressed after breakfast - with white shirts and all!
How nice to get cookies too!! Bonus!

My favorites are the one of the three kids sitting with their backs to the camera and the one of the 5 of you walking away down the beach. SO COOL!!!!

I love pictures that are not looking at the camera. I have one of my DH from when he was about 10 at the beach just looking out at the water. It's one of my all time favorites. So I recreated it with my kids!

Did you end up buying a lot? I would have a hard time deciding!

I love the ones were they aren't looking at the camera! I always try to sneak pics like that and they always look at me! So I tell them not to look at the camera! Of course, then when I want them to look they don't! Grrrr!

Actually, I should have mentioned this! It was $200 and we got a CD with every picture he took! It was like 400 pictures! Those are the ones that are my favorites! But I have all of them! Good deal if you ask me!!!

Great pictures!! We were pretty happy with our photo session in November. I guess they aren't the same photographers that do photopass any more. And we got lucky & got in when the price was still $99. It went up to $150 right after we booked but we were still guaranteed the $99 price. :thumbsup2 You have a great variety in your pictures - I'll definitely keep the private photographer in mind if we want to do it in the future.

My boys LOVE that they get to ride together at Disney. They fight quite a bit too but something about riding together makes them get along. We'll see if that changes once it gets old!

You are SO right about that. I used to do Sears and the Picture People. After a disastrous last session at the PP we skipped a year or two and then did a shoot at our house. Which was amazing for the larger group with my in laws, and candids and of the kids but not so great of the 6 of us. I was thrilled with our PP shoot in 2010 but that was luck. I didn't do a card this year b/c I didn't have a single pic of all 6 of us! Sad. I'd rather do every other year and get a good one even if it costs 2x as much. Which means I need to get a photographer to my house I guess, now that one is in college...it's even harder!

I just found your trip report. I'm about half way through it now. Enjoying it with a nice cup of coffee on this Sunday morning while my house is still quiet.

Score on the great room! :thumbsup2

Again I must apologize for my absence!! With Dis being sooooo ssssssssllllllllloooooooowwwww I kinda gave up!! I just couldn't just sit here and wait, wait, and wait for it to load!!! UGH!!

But, I'm back!!

When I last left off we were on our way from the beach by Beach Club to Epcot after our photo session!

When we arrived at Epcot we stopped in France and took a few pics!

Then it was time for a snack and a drink! I was dying to try a Parisian Cosmo Slush and the kids wanted their own slushies!

Then headed into Boulangerie Patisserie to get the kiddos slushies! I also got a napoleon to take back to the room with us!! No else wanted a snack or anything! Humph!

Then we moved on! However, Iím really sure not what happened! That Cosmo did me in! It wasnít too strong or anything, I wasnít tipsy, I was extremely HOT!!! My face turned bright red and I started to sweat, a lot!! I love that cosmo, it was delish!! But, I could have done without that reaction!!

We wandered around WS, DH and MIL both stopped and got a Moroccarita and FIL got a beer. We stopped and got the kiddos hot dogs at the Outpost and I drank an entire bottle of water! Then we made our way through the rest of WS and headed back to BLT!!

I understand, things were going pretty slowly around here for a while! They seem to be alright now, so YAY!

More cute pictures! Awww. :)

Okay, that can't be a normal reaction! How creepy! I'm sure that water tasted delicious after that.

It seems to be back up and running :cool1: I know they were changing the servers so I bet that's what caused it!

It was very weird!!! I don't know if it was because I hadn't had a lot to drink that day or I had only a small breakfast hours before. But I didn't feel anything other then hot in the face and sweaty!!

What a weird reaction and probably a little freaky too!

It was a little freaky but I felt fine!! Weird!!

Glad you felt fine after awhile from your Cosmo. I think I would cry if I ever had a reaction like that  it's one of my favorite drinks!! As you well know ;)
Love the photo shoot pictures!! It would be so hard to choose which ones to pick!

Cute pictures, but what the heck with the cosmo slushie? That's weird. Other than that it sounds like you all had a wonderful time exploring the world showcase. Oh, how I miss it!

That is a strange reaction to your drink...I sometmes get flushed but not red when i drink one of those slushes.

Can't wait for the next update (thankfully, the DIS seems back to normal).

The good thing is with all the experimenting trying to make one I haven't had the problem again.
