HAPPY BIRTHDAY
PRINCESS LISA :flower3:

Thank You Emma!!!Happiest of birthdays, Princess Lisa!
:dance3: :rotfl: :dance3:

Hoping and praying at the year brings you and your family many wonderful things! :grouphug:
Thank You Ellen!!! I always believe the New Year is gong to be the best year...I keep waiting...D, I'm sorry about the loss of your friend. I do believe that you made the most loving, if not the most difficult, decision.
SO TRUE! :hug::hug:

D, I am so sorry to hear about your loss. We had to put our 13 year old German Shepherd down at Christmas time. It was so hard. I decided just a day or two afterwards to go out and get us a puppy. I was the one that wanted to wait but I am so glad now that I did. Annabel managed to make our holidays much brighter and she continues to do so.
Thank You for sharing that Michele!!! I am glad Annabel has brought joy to your lives! :flower3:

Poor wrapping??? They were adorable and I was SO excited about the chef outfit...I had WANTED to get Lisa one I saw for her dolls and she is BEYOND thrilled!!!! (now she wants a kitchen for them :faint: :lmao). They are adorable! As for the matching shirts, PERFECT color and such great stitching, you are so :worship::worship: the skirt for Molly is so pretty, you really surprised us both, THANK YOU!!! And yes, I have pics to post! :goodvibes

I have to laugh that she wants a kitchen because I told Alexa I would make her an apron set too (I actually did the apron yesterday) and her reply was that she really needs baking items for her doll and the apron will be of no use unless she has those! She has the baking table circled in her catalog. No such luck though -- finances aren't on our side. She will have to use her imagination!

Glad Lisa likes everything. I hope the shirt fits her -- if it doesn't let me know because they had one size larger and I can redo it.

What twin dolls did she get????

I sent you an email....just when you can, no rush....didn't want to forget to ask you again!

There is a baking table for AG??? WHY am I not surprised??? Tell Alexa that Lisa often makes the items she needs for her dolls out of boxes and construction paper. She even made her a DSI game out of clay and a phone out of pipe cleaners. She is VERY creative and when you all come for your sleepover (I CAN'T WAIT :yay::yay:) they can have a BIG time playing dolls. I DO wish your house would sell though, that has been a huge prayer focus for me!
Glad Lisa likes everything. I hope the shirt fits her -- if it doesn't let me know because they had one size larger and I can redo it.
We haven't tried the shirt on yet, she wasn't feeling her best. If it is long enough, it will be perfect. How tall is Alexa? LIsa was 56 inches at the doctor on Thursday., add in all of her swelling and she LOOKS like she is about 11 or 12 years old...or so we keep hearing....And as Lisa would say...she didn't like everything, she :love:LOVED:love::love: everything...and she Did! ONce again, all I can say is :worship::worship:
What twin dolls did she get????
She WANTED the Bitty Twins :lmao::lmao: NOT happening, obviously (and she was okay with that)...I found a set on Amazon (http://www.amazon.com/LITTLE-OUTFITS-PILLOWS-BOTTLES-DISHES/dp/B004JEW02E/ref=sr_1_14?ie=UTF8&qid=1330865156&sr=8-14), bought them and had them shipped (for free) to my parents house and they paid me back....She named them Jason (I think in my sleep fogged brain) and Isabelle. It is a cute set and I have something to share later that she got to use with them as well...
I love your trip report! So glad your daughter had a fantastic time!!!
:welcome:Emma:welcome: to our TR!!! We love  new readers, THANK YOU for letting me know you are here! :flower3: It WAS a trip of a lifetime! :flower3:

Thank you... I know that Josh has already been looking at puppies - his heart is so broken with out Ruf - and I can only imagine how lonely and quiet this house will be when we are gone for 10 days... I would not be the least surprised to come home and find a puppy in our house. :rolleyes1 However, for the girls' sake, I really hope that he lets them go with to pick it out - if there is ever a chance that either of them can bond with another dog - I think it would be better if they can help choose. :lovestruc

WOW, I am SOOO far behind on responses, I had no idea where to start, so I thought I would start with the birthday and work until I had to stop! Lisa LOVED her "emails" as she called them! She was astounded that anyone from the DIS would remember her since she wasn't waiting to go on her Wish Trip any longer. I told her (and showed her :goodvibes) there were STILL a lot of people here who cared about her and loved her! THANK YOU ALL!

She had a quiet day, but she told us last night it was the best birthday she ever had...I LOVE that she always thinks the last thing she ever did was the best thing she ever did!

Her wants were simple and the first one made me cry (and shocked me), it shows just how much a child is affected by layoffs...She wanted a year’s supply of meat, a Belle shirt (she needed an adult small size and they have to be ordered) and twin baby dolls (she told me that a month ago, and my parents got it for her. They came over Friday and brought pizza for lunch to celebrate with us...then misbehaved :sad2:...parents... Christian was home as well, it was good to have all my children together)! I think all of her requests were reasonable, even if not doable. She is such a sweet child. :goodvibes

Thank You Lisa and Megan!!!

Thank You Krystal!!!
Thank You Daniel!!!
Thank you D~! They were awful, but thankfully no one died. Three injuries though. Houses demolished, shelters set up very near our homes (actually one at Christian's old middle school). Having had my home burn down in 1996, I know how they felt. I AM thankful for us though, it was about two miles away as the crow flies that so mush damage was done. We just lost power and shingles.

My heart aches for what you had to endure D~ You loved Ruf enough to let him run pain free again though, that took LOTS of courage!

Poor wrapping??? They were adorable and I was SO excited about the chef outfit...I had WANTED to get Lisa one I saw for her dolls and she is BEYOND thrilled!!!!:hug::hug: for Muffin and Rufus!

I hope you got your TV back up and running Gail! It is hard when I can't see the news! If you saw any pics of Charlotte, you saw we were more fortunate than a lot of places...except for the poor folks who lost their homes...and then, it only matters if it was one. There is noting like seeing your house on the ground to really knock your legs out from under you.

Thank You Debbie!!!

Awww... I am so glad that Lisa had a good birthday! I cannot wait to see her new twins!

I am so glad that all of our Disfriends are OK after the storm... I pray that everyone is able to recouperate after such a disaster. :lovestruc

I wanted to share the BEAUTIFUL gift David made for Lisa. She absolutely LOVES it and was so thrilled to have it. It is (obviously) a cradle. He went with a stain to bring out the natural grain of the wood and it looks even more beautiful in person. Those are Lisa’s twin babies, Jason and Isabelle, as well as my parents.

I also wanted to share the beautiful creations Andrea made for Lisa and her American Girl dolls. That was such an unexpected surprise Andrea, thank you so much! I have a few more pics of another gift; however, I think my humble friend prefers to keep her kindness “under wraps.” (sorry Andrea, I didn’t give you the option)! To all of you who have sent gifts, cards and kind birthday greetings THANK YOU...it was/is ALL appreciated! I think Birthday’s (especially Lisa’s) can’t be celebrated too much!

As for the Paper Jamz guitar if you can see it...it was a present from the hematology clinic..they always give Lisa a birthday present every year and as you see it is a nice one. Continued prayers for Lisa’s PEG hole, it looks terrible to me today, I am airing it out. She has a runny nose still, but denies she feels badly or that her “hole” hurts. She has a friend from ballet class over to play, I waned her LIsa was not quite well...she told me she wasn't worried, Ashley never got sick...I hope she is right!

Several have asked about Bandit (especially D~). I am including a few pics of him as well, he is such a big part of our family. Bandit is doing quite well, his Vet visit Tuesday showed he is improving and getting stronger every day. We were able to stop another one of his meds, so we are now down to only two medications! I am SO HAPPY! Bandit will celebrate his fourth birthday next month and we are incredibly grateful to have him in our lives. Not only does he bring us joy, he brings joy to many and he is READY to get back to work...soon I hope, for his sake. I think you will agree he looks amazing and it is difficult to believe we almost lost him in January.

The hematology clinic is wonderful to the children. I even got a fuzzy blanket for my recliner.

hope Lisa enjoyed her playdate today and is feeling better soon!
She had fun, but got too cold outside and couldn't breathe very well for a bit. She is fine at the moment, ready for bed.

Love the cradle that David made for Lisa and her new twin babies! Looks like Lisa had a very nice birthday and hope that she is feeling better. What wonderful AG shirts and chef outfits from Andrea and Alexa! It was nice to see your parents in the pictures too and also Bandit! Glad he was able to drop another medication.

Hope that the insurance will help with the cost of the repairs on your shingles! The guys will finish with our roof and then paint the trim tomorrow. The gutter will be put up on Wednesday. This project is almost over! :woohoo:

Thank you Gail for the compliments. Lisa LOVES her cradle and David was so proud. The twins fit so perfectly and she CAN put them both in the cradle, but it is tight. :lmao: Her PEG area looked so sore last night, I actually just tucked some pads around her and on the hole without tape to try and give her skin a break. She denies it hurts though, which is a blessing. She has had a lot of breathing difficulty, if that continues today, I am calling the doctor, just to be sure. I am always happy when my parents let us spend time with them, I think it is good for the children. Bandit was in such a playful mood while they were here, he was rolling all over the floor when he wasn't trying to figure out who the new additions to the family were! If the cradle didn't move, he would have been trying to get inside of it...he loves doll couches and beds! ;):goodvibes As for the gifts from Andrea and Alexa...so kind and generous!! I need to post better pics of the clothes "in action"!

I can't WAIT to hear the roof is completed, I am so encouraged you have had a great experience with such WONDERFUL workers! I know you are covered in blessings!!!!

Oh wow!! THat cradle is magnificant!!! He did a supurb job on it!!! And it looks like Lisa just adores it - I know my girls would have loved one when they were little!

I am still praying that Lisa's PEG heals quickly - it doesn't sound like it is - so I am hopeful that it will start healing up soon. I feel so badly for her. (((Hugs Lisa)))

Bandit looks so wonderful - it warms my heart to see him so happy and healthy - such a miracle dog. Thank you so much for sharing pictures of him.

And I love Lisa's new twins, and the names she chose for them. It looks like she had a wonderful birthday surrounded by those that love her!

Judy, it looks like Lisa had a wonderful birthday. I'm so glad. What a beautiful cradle. David did an amazing job! Of course we are still praying for Pete to find a wonderful job (hoping for good news this week) and Lisa' PEG hole to heal as well as for the rest of your sweet family. I meant to make it back yesterday but ended up spending the day in the ER. Jenna had a major asthma attack that we couldn't get completly under control so I spent 3 or 4 hours there with her then just as I was walking back into the house Jonnie did something new:scared1: it appears, and the doctors agree, that he had a seizure. He was released at 1:00 a.m. with anti-seizure meds. They were very close to admitting him but the thought of that sent him into such a panic that they feel a little preparation for that possibility might be better. Any more episodes at all and he will be admitted. So even though I hate to hijack your thread I'd like to ask for prayers. At this point I am absolutely terrified and want answers. I really feel we need all the prayers we can get.

Sorry to hear Lisa is having such trouble with her peg hole. That has got to be worse than her having it in to start with!! Glad she was able to get it out sooner than later - just hope she doesn't need intervention to close it up. We will all pray supper hard that it doesn't lead to that!!!

Praying Pete hears on his job soon and a new chapter in your lives can start. I can't imagine how tough it has been. Your family is amazing to continue with the strength and faith that you have. Your post are always upbeat (even in tough times). God will look after each and everyone one of you for all you have done - no question in my mind about it!!

Praying for Jonnie!!

The birthday pictures are great. Lisa looks fantastic -- you'd never know she was under the weather. That girl has such fantastic spirit :) I'm glad your parents were there and I know Lisa loves the gift from them. David's cradle is amazing!!!! What talent! And I'm so glad Bandit is doing so well -- I truly was worried he wouldn't make it and now look at him! I'm beyond elated that he pulled through.

I am keeping you and Pete in my prayers today for good news on the job front. I am also praying for Lisa that her hole starts to close.

And prayers for Jenna and Jonnie as well.

SO, Andrea distracted me over on D~'s report and left me hanging :rotfl2::lmao::rotfl: and now I only have a few seconds to answer.....this is how my week has been thus far.....

http://dl2.glitter-graphics.net/pub/2158/2158862qzmdorl4ak.gif (http://www.glitter-graphics.com)
The rest of the week is playing out to be the same...

Lisa had two presents yesterday, and LOVED them both! Thank you Lisa for her puzzle books, stationary, her crown necklace and more she loved it! Her handmade Dopey card made her so happy (she LOVES DOPEY)! She loved it all. :goodvibes

Lisa also had a gift yesterday which was the single most incredible gift I have ever seen in my life. Not sure I can share, but lets just say :faint: Lisa will NEVER, EVER forget her Ninth Birthday! THANK YOU each and ever one of you who took time to make her feel special! :goodvibes

Oh wow!! THat cradle is magnificant!!! He did a supurb job on it!!! And it looks like Lisa just adores it - I know my girls would have loved one when they were little!
Thank you D~ Lisa DOES adore it and he put lots of love in to it as he made it.
I am still praying that Lisa's PEG heals quickly - it doesn't sound like it is - so I am hopeful that it will start healing up soon. I feel so badly for her. (((Hugs Lisa)))
It looked horrible last night, I am doubling my prayer efforts.
Bandit looks so wonderful - it warms my heart to see him so happy and healthy - such a miracle dog. Thank you so much for sharing pictures of him.
Bandit is such a blessing. Thank you for caring D~ I know you understand, especially in view of what you have been through this past week.
And I love Lisa's new twins, and the names she chose for them. It looks like she had a wonderful birthday surrounded by those that love her!

D~

It was INCREDIBLY special! And she DOES love her twins. :goodvibes

Your week in a pictorial depiction could be interpreted in a few different ways:
a. It's been a roller coaster (ups and downs)
b. Scary -- the cats up front look a bit terrified
c. Fun -- some of the cats look like they are having fun
d. Full of wishes come true -- like a day at the amusement park
e. You've had the runs and been on the loo all week :lmao: -- sorry -- couldn't resist as the kitties are in a litter box!

OK, you can NOT post that Lisa got the most incredible gift ever and then not tell us a thing. That is just plain evil! Fess up!

... and I did finally get back to D's ptr.

Oh my gracious Krystal, PLEASE KNOW I am praying for answers, especially for Jonnie. I know there is a lot going on and I am sorry!:hug: PLEASE keep me updated ad you KNOW you are always welcome o post prayer requests here! :flower3:

Thank you so much, how exciting you were in Disney!!! I hope you had an amazing time, that is wonderful I would LOVE to see pics! :flower3: HOnestly , I was fine with the PEG staying forever, it helped keep her out of the hospital more times than I can count. Now I am afraid we are heading back for surgery and that is not a good feeling. We BELIEVE God is going to bring the right job and we will KNOW when that happens it will be a FABULOUS one! Thank you for your support and strength!

I need to get permission first...and after I posted this I worried people would think their INCREDIBLE gifts and generosity to my family weren't good enough for us, they ABSOLUTELY were/are...this was just MIND BLOWING!! Especially for a nine year old...now for me, it would be the same as if someone gave me a Disney trip or a car....It just made our rough day INCREDIBLE!

My last update we had just left Lisa B and Megan at the House of Hearts to catch a cab back to their hotel and we had to make a mad dash for our cottage. Thank Goodness we had such an amazing location! The girls jumped in to their jammies (we didn’t have any cute Disney ones; however, they were comfy and I had the washing machine to keep them clean). Just as they were pulling them on we heard a knock at the door. Ms. Merry, Mayor Clayton’s wife was coming to tuck the girls into bed! Any child at GKTW can sign up for ONE night to be tucked in by either Ms. Merry or Mayor Clayton. The girls had been looking forward to this for a while! Lisa was quivering she was so excited. Ms. Merry followed the girls in to their room and she gave them each a puppet (horse). She said prayers with them and tucked them in and then wanted to tuck someone else in. The boys politely declined and then she wanted to tuck ME in...so she and I crawled in bed together, which cracked the children up. Pete calls me Bunny (I will NOT respond to anyone else calling me that). The girls were not going to get out of bed since she had put them there; however, we all called for them to come back over with us and they did.Everybody but Pete piled into the bed...it was a great moment caught on videotape! The time flew quickly and she could only stay for a few minutes, there were lots of other children to put to bed, so we said goodnight and off she went. We were all riled up, so we ordered pizza, of course! It took TWO hours to bring it and we never did get our sodas or waters that night. The girls fell asleep before they came! While we were waiting LIsa opened her special present from Sherri (Sheridee). It was a gorgeous Belle gown made of Satin. Lisa loved it. There was also a matching costume for Molly, complete with arm covers and a Jessie outfit for Molly. Lisa was thrilled, as you can see. She decided it was time for her jacuzzi time, then she went right to sleep, as did Rachel. The guys ate as much pizza as they could and put the leftovers in the fridge. I washed clothes and got things ready for the next day...we were FINALLY going to a DISNEY PARK!!!!

WELCOME BACK!!! I can't WAIT to hear how the 24 hour disney went! Are you doing a TR??? I can't wait to see it! :woohoo::woohoo: If not you MUST post pics here! Thank you for all of the good wishes! :goodvibes

Thanks it's nice to be home especially since my DH didn't come on this trip with us but at the same time it's always sad to leave Disney!! I just told my DH about 20 mins ago that I needed him to download the pics from the camera so if I see I can find the time to do a TR I will if not I'll just post a few here from our favorite moments and of the crowds that we saw when we were leaving the park at 3:30 am on March 1!!! No we didn't make it all night and we did have a mid-afternoon break on 2/29 but overall we still had a great time!!

Just read your newest update and it looks like the girls had a great time getting tucked in!! Now if only Disney would do tuck in's like that!! Missed the rest of your update so wanted to add that I absolutely LOVE the Belle dress and the look on Lisa's face if pricesless!! You can tell how happy she is!! Lots of good thoughts coming your way for some good news on both the job and medical front!! Have a great rest of the week!!

Oh and I meant to mention before but completely forgot but Belle is the favorite Princess in our household also. My DD has so many Belle dolls it's not even funny!! lol She also got for Christmas from my sister a Belle dress (from I think Big Lots), crown, wand, and even the wig!! I told her not to get it for her but she did anyways and my DD loves it!! I'll have to share pics of her meeting Belle in it. It was one of my favorite memories from our Christmas trip.

I always have Pete download my pics too, it is simply easier for him. I am excited to hear all about it, I would have had to go in the middle of the night as well, to have said I was there! I heard the lines to get in were really long, did you experience that? I can't wait to hear all about it! :goodvibes

I agree you have to share the incredible gifts....or I'm going to just call you and find out :thumbsup2

hoping Lisa is feeling better today  and you aren't running around too crazy this week :goodvibes

continued P & PD as always

 and
And after you talk to her you can pm or e-mail me with the info since you pinkie swore with your other hand behind your back and fingers crossed!

Lisa is the strongest person I know, bar none. Thank you for the kind words of praise...I posted over on D~'s report. PLEASE (Pretty please) will you post the pics you took of the incredible outfits you made???!!!??? PLEASE! Bandit comes form a family of fighters, what can I say....We are blessed beyond measure. THANK YOU for all of the prayers. I am looking forward to the day you tell us your HOUSE SOLD!!!!

I certainly will post -- that's why I headed right over here this morning so I can get them done before work. Stay tuned :)

I am sorry Lisa had a meltdown. DD had a mini meltdown too last night b/c she ran out of toothpaste and told me both her containers were completely empty when in fact one had toothpaste in it -- the meltdown escalated since she used my toothpaste (which she hates) and then realized she did indeed have toothpaste in one of the two containers. So be thankful as I'm sure Lisa's meltdowns are warranted by all she goes through with health issues. In our household we cry over lack of watermelon toothpaste. OK, that didn't come out sounding right -- I mean to say it's very legitimate for Lisa to have meltdowns given all she's gone through -- Alexa's meltdowns are over trivial things.

I see you are busy again today, but hope it's a better day for all

I will BRB with the photos.

Per Judy's request, these are the pics of the AG doll outfits I made for Lisa for her birthday. They are being modeled by my dd's doll (who is having a bad hair day):

http://i161.photobucket.com/albums/t210/andie1s/AGHotPinkSet.jpg

http://i161.photobucket.com/albums/t210/andie1s/AGApron.jpg

As I explained to Judy the bad hair day was a result of my getting dd a beauty parlor chair for her doll for Valentine's Day. DD has Samantha's hair half braided with about 10 bows in it. And Judy, the chair is actually Target's knock off one that I found at Goodwill for $4.25 -- DD also got two AG books from the very same store! No fabulously expensive AG items are in the budget right now.

I wish I had KNOWN what it was over, all I can come up with is she doesn't feel well. It is SO not like her to just burst into tears for NO reason! Which is what happened TWICE yesterday! I hope Alexa got her watermelon toothpaste and didn't cry too much. Do Mommy hugs help with that? Once I held Lisa, rocked and loved her, she finally felt better.
I see you are busy again today, but hope it's a better day for all

Hey Judy!!! So sorry to hear Lisa is still leaking like that! Praying it will close up completely very soon!

Love the updates. Everyone should have a bunny come fluff their pillow and tuck them in at night!

Love Lisa's reactions to what I think is Belle's dress??? Especially the one where her mouth is hanging open in shock/amazement, and the one where she is falling backwards in laughter.

Another busy day for you! Hope it goes smoothly!

Loved all the latest pictures in your update! Rachel and Lisa looked really happy to get tucked into bed by Ms. Merry and so did you Judy! What wonderful memories that GKTW provides for the families!

Sherri did a fantastic job on the Belle dress for Lisa and a matching dress and Jesse outfit for Molly! Can't wait to see Lisa wearing that gorgeous Belle dress!

Thanks for posting the pictures Andrea of those lovely AG outfits you made for Lisa's birthday!

Praying that Lisa is feeling better this morning and for her hole to heal! Do you go back to see her doctor any time soon since the two weeks will be this Friday? Let Lisa know that Aunt Gail gives her a  and Tiffy too! Tiffy is too funny. She wants to jump up on you and then gives you a hug but secretly she wants to smell your breathe to make sure you weren't eating anything while she was either sleeping or outside. :rotfl:

Oh, I have to tell you that our contractor told us while he was working yesterday that his wife has a Chigle (part chihuahua and part beagle) and is using her dog as therapy while counseling children so they will open up to her.

Hope your day isn't too hectic! A  for you too!

I was doing Bible study this morning and I thought of you. I was reading Psalm 62 and you immediately popped into my mind. Your faith in the Lord is amazing. I know times have been hard but you continue to have faith that the Lord will bring you through it on HIS time. It is so hard to wait patiently on the Lord, especially without complaining. I pray that Lisa is feeling better and that the leaking stops soon. I also pray that Pete will hear something back and will be back to work soon.

Psalm 62:5-8

Let all that I am wait quietly before God,
for my hope is in Him.
He alone is my rock and my salvation,
my fortress where I will not be shaken.
My victory and honor come from God alone.
He is my refuge, a rock where no enemy can reach me.
O my people, trust in Him at all times.
Pour out your heart to Him,

That is a really nice cradle! He did an amazing job. I love to see Lisa's sweet smiles. I'm sorry she is having problems with her peg tube stoma. I really hope it closes on it's own.

LOVE the pictures of your tuck-ins. Too funny that you did it too. Hey a mom needs her tuck in too! That was one of the highlights from Ty's trip. I laughed so hard I cried. Well those tears were a combination of all of the emotions crammed in really. After Ty was tucked in he didn't move a muscle. :rotfl: What great gifts Lisa recieved. Beautiful dress!

Krystal, thought's go out to your family. I hope Jonnie doesn't have anymore siezures.

We are going back to Disney World this summer. When we went back in December of 2010 it was sort of a rough trip. Sierra and I were both miserably sick and it was downright cold. My mil has wanted to go back and try again since then. Now it will be different with some of the care we need to do with Ty and I am quite nervous about it. And he is getting a GJ tube sometime very soon but hopefully that will make things better for him at least as far as that goes. We are flying. I am trying not to let my nervous flying get the best of me. ;) I'm thinking of doing a ptr. But I haven't decided just yet.

We were actually in the park when the park closures happened. We didn't plan on doing too much so the crowds didn't bother us at all!! We still had a great time. Now to get on to that husband of mine to get the pics off the camera!!

Sarah probably has the same doll. Some how she ended up with two of them one for her birthday in Sept and one for Christmas. lol Oh well she loves them both!! Since you asked here are a couple pics from our Christmas trip of Sarah with Belle. (Hopefully they work since it's been awhile since I've used photobucket.)

Thanks Tink, we have had some news, but nothing to share with you all yet. It was cool! BUT, ALL presets are cool! :thumbsup2
Great updates. Love that you got tucked in too! Love the dress and clothes for Lisa and the ones for Molly!!
Thanks again, it was a fun time, but a bit rushed...Lisa is always thrilled by whatever she gets and I have to say, in the past year, my children have received more gifts than they have in their entire lives combined. Any child that asks for meat for their birthdays, isn't a child that is used to being spoiled. It has been nice to see that!

Yes, Thank you! I need to stop writing in haste, things come out wrong, because I said something about they look better being modeled, when in Actuality what I meant, they look better when they are laid out to be SEEN, and not just as Lisa' holds them up.

That is so cute Jen, THANK YOU for sharing! You gave Rachel a gift that blew HER mind! She was talking about it again yesterday as we discussed Lisa's jaw-dropping gift. Then she had to go play for five minutes before bed!

I want to say one more time, ALL the gifts that my children have received are so special, and well used on a daily basis, There is not ONE ROOM in our house that we can't enter and think of a DIS member with a soft spot in our heart or tears in our eyes. EACH and EVERY kindness shown to our family has been special and LOVED! It doesn't matter if it was a picture your child drew, or a letter you wrote to a gift like the one Lisa received on Monday...They ALL touched our hearts, because not one of you HAD to do it!!! I know BG'a are a gift and you pick and choose which ones to participate in. To those of you who are still here reading, I hope you know that the fact you picked OUR family to gift will NEVER be forgotten, I have each and every one of your notes...EVERY ONE! I know some people don't like to do customs for older children or prefer the little ones because the clothes ARE so incredibly cute! That made what you did for our family even more special! I also know I rub some people the wrong way, they think I am a religious nut... actually I am not, I am a FAITHFUL nut...Lisa B said to me not to long ago when we were discussing the subject that she didn't even know what denomination I was...guess what, she still doesn't! What I am TRYING to say and not too eloquently, I am GRATEFUL to those of you who either gift us in a tangible way, to those who leave supportive messages to those who PRAY for us! For me, those are ALL incredible gifts!

He is my refuge, a rock where no enemy can reach me.
O my people, trust in Him at all times.
Pour out your heart to Him,
for God is our refuge.

THIS really touched my heart, THANK YOU!!!!! I DO Believe and I have learned patience...oh if you all knew me even just 10 years ago....I am NOT the same person and it HAS been a gift to learn to wait...it doesn't matter what I do, I finally learned that my going nuts wouldn't change the outcome. I am proactive, but I know to be still in HIS time.

Just last week a friend sent me a website for me to "assess" my spiritual gifts. My top one was Faith...I didn't even know that WAS a "spiritual gift", (there is a LIST!!) it opened my eyes though to what a few people have said to me... THANK YOU AGAIN!!! :goodvibes:goodvibes

Good Morning sweet Judy!
Hello dear friend!

Lisa opening her gifts from Sheri is priceless!
She had fun!
btw - we walked back to house of hearts, didn't want Pete to miss the arrival of miss bunny! I know this because we saw a lady speeding down the road and almost hit another car
I know you walked.... You told Pete to stay with us, so he WOULDN'T miss Ms. Merry...I did forget to write you had to come back to the villa to pick up everything....I had TRIED to leave you at the House of Hearts, but your things were in the Villa and Megan had Rachel's skirt and you JUST missed the bunny....it really WAS too close, thanks for reminding me!
hope Lisa's feeling better this morning

Thanks Gail! :love::grouphug::love:

This is one of the reason's why we love you Judy and your family...thankfulness, gratefulness, faithfulness and patience!

It was good to read that Lisa's hole seemed to be better last night! Praying that when you check it this morning that it will confirm healing is going on!

Contractor finally is all done and Tiffy has her doggy door too! She got up around 4:30 this morning and wanted out. I opened the front door and she went in and out of her own door. Now we have to make sure she doesn't gain any more weight or it'll become a tight squeeze through there!

Luv the update. The Belle dress is fab!
Thanks Emma, Sherri did a lot for our family as did you. :flower3:
That is a really nice cradle! He did an amazing job. I love to see Lisa's sweet smiles. I'm sorry she is having problems with her peg tube stoma. I really hope it closes on it's own.
Thanks so much, she was thrilled and it warmed David's heart to make her happy. I want that hole to close, I am NOT in a place to go to the hospital for more than a week and I don't like surgery, obviously.
OH I relate to the emotions. It hurts that you can't go back to GKTW as a family again, so many wonderful memories and magic are made there! Lisa didn't WANT to move, they made her come get in bed with me, too funny.
Krystal, thought's go out to your family. I hope Jonnie doesn't have anymore siezures.
Still praying as well Krystal!

I am so excited for you to go back!!! :yay::woohoo::yay: BUt sorry 2010 was rough. :grouphug::grouphug: I hope you will love his GJ tube as much as I LOVED Lisa's PEG. It made life so much easier! (and I was VERY resistant to her getting it)! Flying makes it so much better..until it comes to the luggage....YES!!!Do a PTR!!!! PLEASE!!!! I will read!! :flower3:

We were actually in the park when the park closures happened. We didn't plan on doing too much so the crowds didn't bother us at all!! We still had a great time. Now to get on to that husband of mine to get the pics off the camera!!
I don't like crowds, that would have made me :scared1::scared::scared1: Looking forward to seeing it though! :goodvibes
Lisa's was a gift and she adores her loves to change the clothes, etc.

Your Princess is BEAUTIFUL, she looks so happy!!! Lisa had that same dress and crown...it was a nice look, as Sarah demonstrates!
The "getting tucked in" pictures were just precious! :lovestruc I love that you were included in the fun, Judy.
Ellen it was SUCH a magical time, I look forward to more Disney magic!
Sending truckloads of wound-closing pixie dust Lisa's way. I have that t-shirt (the leaking, slow-closing wound one) and it was NO FUN whatsoever earning it. I hope that things turn around soon. So, Lisa's stomach, get with the program! Your turn first!
I KNOW you understand! :grouphug::grouphug: I hope all is well in YOUR world, I am continuing to pray!:hug::hug:

I haven't been able to play over on Andrea's report for a bit and I miss it, sigh...:sad1:And D~ is spoiling the fun, she is WATCHING us!!!! :scared: (see below).

Love the update and seeing Miss Bunny tuck everyone in.
Thank you it was fun, but rushed. I had forgotten HOW rushed till Lisa reminded me....see, it's like childbirth....
I have gotten to page 70, but have to go to bed.. I am exhausted. I am so glad that you have the support of everyone on here. YOu sure have needed it this past year!! I read the TR, but need to catch up on the life in between postings.
All I can say is :worship::worship: for reading so much! I am happy you are here. :flower3: You know how life is with a chronically ill child, never ending for some. :grouphug::grouphug:
Praying things aren't nearly as complicated!
ME TOO!!! :flower3:
Judy - I just wanted to stop by and say hello... I didn't read any more than this one page, so I apologize that I haven't seen your recent pictures.
I didn't expect you to be around anyway...gulp...we have been playing on your TR as you know, but it is Andrea's fault! You KNOW I would never do it on my own...:rolleyes1:rolleyes1:rolleyes1
I just want to say that I hope Lisa is doing well, I am continuing to pray for her and that her hole is healing.

I agree with you about the DISboutiquers. We weren't BIG GIVE recipients, but we did get a very generous dusting of PIXIE DUST from some of them. The magic was unbelievable!! We too, can still look around and see our pixie dust. We still wear the customs and are planning what we are wearing when we go back this year.

So I FINALLY get back home at 3:45 and had 7 messages (sorry I missed you Lisa :sad2:) One of the calls was the insurance company. I have been on the phone with them since 3:51 and I am STILL waiting on the lady to come back...so I thought I would distract myself and DIS for a minute. They have until 4:40 to help me, then I have to leave, Rachel's theater showcase is tonight and we don't want to be late...so I will do what I can to catch up here...I wish I had a $1.00 for all of the times I have sat on hold to clear thing sup, I would be RICH!

Hey there Bunny...ummmm... I'm mean Judy. :rolleyes1
Did somebody hear something...Hello...Hello...Oh Hi Tim!!! :flower3:
Great update! It looks like everyone was enjoying the tuck in from Ms. Merry! We had Mayor Clayton and he was so silly!
I think Mayor Clayton would have been sillier....so to other wish families if you want a more low-key tuck in go with Ms. Merry, if you want a silly bunny, ask for Mayor Clayton ('cause I can't do it). :rotfl2:
2 hours for the pizza to arrive??? They must of been really busy! :scared1:
It happened again Sunday night....(only 90 minutes though). We realized that staffing on the weekends was different for us than during the week, plus we had a LOT so teens on fall break volunteering. Still, they were lovely and wonderful it was just different.
I hope Lisa had a great birthday... I guess I was a tad behind. :headache:
I know what it is like to be behind..just remember this mantra...must check Judy's TR as soon as I get up...or I know of a picture featuring a behind that might show up....:rolleyes1:rolleyes1 all kidding aside, Thanks for Lisa's BD wishes! It is never too late to say Happy Birthday! After all, you age all year long! :flower3:
This is one of the reason's why we love you Judy and your family...thankfulness, gratefulness, faithfulness and patience!
Thank you Gail you are such a sweetheart! I love you to pieces!:love:
It was good to read that Lisa's hole seemed to be better last night! Praying that when you check it this morning that it will confirm healing is going on!

If you read on D's ptr Alexa asked to have her hair cut :scared1::scared1::scared1: I kind of wanted your input b/c was wondering how you'd react if Lisa asked. She wants it just past her shoulders but then remembered she needed it longer to be Dorothy for the play in May so agreed to having just a few inches cut for now. So I gave in (it's her hair after all) and cut about 5 inches off so it's now about waist length. She said she loved it was perfect and to never, ever cut her hair again :confused3 I'm ok with it since it's still semi-long (though I loved it really long) and hopefully it will grow fast!

I need to check D~s report, err....I mean your TR ;) out, I have been trying to catch up on others. WE cut about three inches off of Lisa's every two to three onths, hers grows so quickly! A few weeks ago Rachael wanted a PIXIE CUT (till I showed her one....:lmao::lmao:). She has been gradually cutting it shorter for the past 18 months. MY thought has always been it is her hair, but it HURTS ME if she cuts it. So for Rachel, we have been cutting off shorter and shorter...but I think she now realizes it will NOT grow back the same and she DOES like it long. You did the right thing by only cutting SOME at a time, it is just too shocking, all at once. I will get to your TR later and comment, did you post pics???

I am feeling really sick at the moment, the GI doc told us to wait until Tuesday to see how Lisa is. He is hoping against hope the hole in her stomach closes. If Lisa is STILL leaking, they want to put her in for an "endoscopy with clips" to close her stomach. Simple right??? Until you throw in the fact she is on coumadin, which means an extended hospital stay. They wanted ME to call the cardiologists and the hematologist office to consult with them...so here we go...I am currently on hold with the cardiologist office and I just feel sick. I Know you are all praying, if you will continue I appreciate it please. I am just tired.

As for Alexa's hair, I found a before pic that I posted and was going to do an after pic this evening -- except dh has our camera and he's in CA! He's taking a red eye back tonight though, so I'll post pics on MY ptr as soon as I can. Lisa's hair grows fast if you cut it that often!

Alexa's hair was also cut very straight, but now that it's dry it's a little shorter on one side -- I guess one side waved up a bit more than the other :sad2:

Oh I am so sorry to hear that. I certainly hope it doesn't come to that. We will be praying.

Oh my gosh Judy the photos of Ms Merry putting you & the girls to bed are so cute. I can just imagine in my mind the giggling going on!
It was SOOOOOOOOOO fun, I wish she could have done it EVERY night!
I can indeed see how thrilled LIsa is with her special gifts. Is this the gown she is wearing at MK on your intro post? I will have to go check again.
Lisa loves to get presents and with the BG it was just the most amazing time she ever had in her entire life! Lisa was a fortunate little girl she had TWO Belle dresses, thanks to Karen and Sherri. That IS the gown she has on, but that was the happiest she looked the entire night, poor sweetie. It was our MNSSHP night...
I haven't had a chance to read "in between" to see how you all are doing, I hope well!!!
Hanging in there!
Praying for Lisa, Judy.
Thank you Michelle!
Praying you start to see some slowing up or stopping of the leaking this weekend!!!
Thank you! It has slowed, just not enough.

Praying for Lisa.

Oh Judy, praying so hard it doesn't come to that....why in the world are you having to make those calls...would think the nurse would get all set up so the doctors could have a consult over the phone all together :confused3

let us know what happens...I'm home if you need to talk when you get off the phone with the dr's....my stomach is in knots for you, as always continued prayers, pixie dust, hugs and love!
Thank you Lisa! As I was talking to the cardiologist nurse (He had JUST left for the weekend, PROBABLY while I was on hold and she was getting last minute info for the weekend) I voiced my same WHY was I told to call...and she said (I have known her for a LONG time), because YOU always get the info right and there isn't a lot of go-betweens trying to sort things out. I AM glad I am a nurse, I just wish I could be Lisa's Mom and not have to watch out for everything. Glad we got to talk as well!

sending prayers and pixie dust:flower3::grouphug:
Thank you Emma! :hug:Praying for answers and closure! I agree, the nurse should be calling...and I mean the GI nurse, not you!!
Thank you Amy! I know you can truly relate to the GI stuff all too well, I DON'T want her to have anymore problems.

Oh no! And I'm with Lisa, why are you the one calling? Then again, I suppose that's the only way you'll know what is going on.
I remember a line I told a nurse at our local hospital after Lisa had her first Open Heart. It was the middle of the night and the MD wanted me to come down to the nurses station and take his call because they couldn't transfer it to Lisa's room. Lisa was drowning in her own fluid and the nurses were trying to say she had gas and she needed some mylicon drops. The nurse came in and told me about the call and I didn't want to leave Lisa, but I finally did. She said, I wonder why he wants to talk to you? My response? Because he wants to speak to a nurse who actually KNOWS what is going on. That was the first time they realized I was a RN (I always play that close to the vest until I HAVE to pull it out). He ordered a chest x-ray for Lisa and mylicon drops for the nurses (to appease them, I always said it was because he thought THEY were full of gas). :rotfl2::lmao: Lisa was in Congestive Heart Failure and dying before their very eyes. So in my typical long winded way, THAT is probably why I had to call, to get it right...:sad2: Don't misunderstand me, we have some great people on Lisa's medical team, they often prefer to go through me though, which DOES get exhausting. I really didn't have much info to impart, but at least the docs have a heads up, because they will probably want to do something soon and we have to do a coumadin wean.

Keeping Lisa in my prayers -- if they are now waiting until Tuesday they must have some hope that it will close :confused3
Thank you! They never want to do anything on the weekend and at 4:30 on a Friday they just want to leave. They told me to call Monday or Tuesday...I pick Tuesday, I want to give time for that miracle to work!

I really need to get over to your (I mean D`s) PTR to check it out. Lisa's hair grows faster than ANYBODY'S I have ever seen! I always wonder if the coumadin and all that blood flow has anything to do with it! Mine just stops...
Alexa's hair was also cut very straight, but now that it's dry it's a little shorter on one side -- I guess one side waved up a bit more than the other :sad2:
Was it wet when you cut it? Wait a bit and then just trim up the one side. When they cut Lisa's last month they did the same thing (Pete took her). I said if I wanted it gapped I would have cut it myself! (which I often do.) :rolleyes1:rolleyes1

After speaking to Lisa B tonight I realized some people might be confused as to what exactly is happening with my Lisa. I also realize some of you don't care, so skip this post. :flower3:

Lisa had a feeding tube inserted into her stomach at three months of age. For many, many, many months into years it was her sole nourishment and then it was a huge help to supplement her meals. As her heart got stronger, she was able to eat. We kept the tube, because Lisa was often dehydrated and it was an easy way to get fluids in to her without having to be hospitalized. She had some doctors that wanted it out and some wanted it to stay in. Finally at Christmas, they decided as a team it could come out. After some delay it was taken out on February 24. In the almost nine years she had it we NEVER had ANY problems or issues with it. The GI doctor was quite casual about the entire process and said her hole would close on its own within two weeks, and if it didn't to call him. Today is two weeks. This hole is IN her stomach. There is a Hole that drains from her stomach and out the stoma (hole where the G-tube was) to her skin. We can't just close the surface skin (I am the best at wound care, one of my nursing loves...gross, to some, I know). Closing the outer skin, without closing the STOMACH would cause acidic stomach juices to float into her abdomen and probably cause caustic erosion inside of Lisa at best and peritonitis at worst. That is why the other hole her THIRD bellybutton, must remain open until the stomach closes. I hope that helps with any questions you might have, if not, Feel free to ask away...I know that way you can pray more effectively! They didn't do anything today at 4:30m because it wasn't an emergency. But she can't keep leaking stomach contents forever....

Now I need to do some things, I just wanted to explain and say THANK YOU to those who are praying for my child once again!

I wish we knew WHAT the right avenue is. Is this really THE ONE??? Are the roadblocks signs to look elsewhere? I simply don't know. When Pete took his last job, I KNEW it was wrong. I am feeling MUCH better this Morning, I knew I would. I always feel as if I got punched (sometimes Kicked) in the stomach when I hear potentially bad news about the children. My "go to" is asking for prayer immediately, it is amazing how quickly I can be lifted up! By the time I DIS'd last night I was feeling better and several hours of prayer through the night sealed the deal for me. THANK YOU to all for the kind messages and for those who just read and also prayed. I know long threads can be off-putting, but EVERYONE is welcome here at any time.

Today is Christian's last full day at home before he goes back to college. His spring break has been different than a lot of college students; however, he chose this over traveling to the beach with some buddies. He always wants to spend as much time with us (and Make Lisa smile) as he can, which is good because he has no money anyway. Lisa has asked for a family night, so that is what we plan to do, complete with games and a movie of her choice. This should be good! :lmao::lmao:

My other thing to do is hit Andrea's PTR, I understand there has been a lot of talk over there, some of it requiring my response!... I hope you ladies have been behaving in my absence....and knowing you, I can IMAGINE the behavior....just remember, D~ IS watching....

It's possible, but I can't say for certain. I am thinking it will just be a girl's trip and ds would have to stay home. My mom can most likely watch him during the day and as long as dh isn't out of town (he doesn't travel much at all -- this is his first business trip in about three months) it could work. DS is a saint so my mom doesn't mind watching him -- actually my sister, dh and I joke and say my kids babysit my mom -- she's sweet but getting a wee bit loopy as she ages.

Have a fun night with Christian. I love family nights -- we either do puzzles and a movie or games. I love playing games and we have a new game (Ticket to Ride) that is a train game so ds is in heaven over it and it's challenging enough that it's fun for adults -- way better than hours of Thomas games we played when ds was young! And way better than Ponyopoly!

What year is Christian in school? I'm thinking he's either junior or senior, but I really don't recall.

How's Lisa this morning? Been praying for healing from the inside to stop the leaking from the stomach to the outside hole.

Have a great day with Christian before he heads back to college! Will have to also start praying for a job for Christian in his field of interest or at least an entry position and work his way into his dream job. Christian is such a great older brother too! I had to go back and look at your ptr to see what Christian was majoring in -- he will get a job in something with computers, perhaps not his immediate dream job or perhaps something that doesn't use his full skill set, but computer programming is a wise choice to major in.

I have to warn you, Ticket To Ride is expensive. I bought it from Amazon b/c I was able to get it for less than $40. I think Ben would like David. Ben wants to be an engineer (train engineer) as well! I am trying to gear him more toward the field of engineering and designing transportation systems though. He's very good with math and is a by the book kind of kid. Does David do any train layout work? DH has n scale and Ben helps him with that.

I'm thinking a non-camp week might be better too -- I guarantee the girls will all entertain themselves. Alexa is about Lisa's age and Alexa also happens to love older girls so I think she will adore Megan and Rachel as well. What ever you all decide is fine though -- unless something really odd comes up there is no reason why I should be able to come down for at least a couple of nights -- still not sure about a whole week, but we'll get it all figured out. Once again Lisa, I want to thank you and Megan for volunteering to take the tent :flower3:

I hope Megan feels better. Alexa was in bed with me last night too but she's a sound sleeper and I cuddle with her and stay nice and warm. She gets booted tonight though b/c dh is back (though he's sleeping right now after his red eye so will likely be all off schedule).

I hope Megan feels better. Alexa was in bed with me last night too but she's a sound sleeper and I cuddle with her and stay nice and warm. She gets booted tonight though b/c dh is back (though he's sleeping right now after his red eye so will likely be all off schedule).

Andrea - talked to Judy earlier today, we are going to do a non-camp week...she's going to talk to Pete and see what they have planned so far...hope to have dates soon but hoping for early part of july!

Megan does really well with younger kids too , they will enjoy being together!

She usually starts moving around about 3am...more pushing and strecting though, she's a sound sleeper though, just a mover!

NOT TAKING THE TENT , I'm not, I'm not, I'm not............we will stick the kids out there first! :thumbsup2

Everybody is cleaning up from a fun trip to the park. Bandit was SO happy to get out in the sunshine, poor sweetie has missed his outings. :goodvibes I will answer as much as I can before Family night starts....depends on how slow they are! :lmao:

Hi Judy! Glad to read that you are feeling better this morning!
Thank you Gail, I always have to get over my initial shock. :sad1:
How's Lisa this morning? Been praying for healing from the inside to stop the leaking from the stomach to the outside hole.
She is still leaking and has little appetite; however, she LOOKS great and had fun at the park.
Have a great day with Christian before he heads back to college! Will have to also start praying for a job for Christian in his field of interest or at least an entry position and work his way into his dream job. Christian is such a great older brother too! Have a wonderful family night together! I wonder which DVD Lisa wants to watch? popcorn::
I sure wish both Pete and Christian could find a job IN FLORIDA (Christian has actually applied to Disney for animation, gaming and writing...). There is also a college in Florida David is interested in for railroad studies. I agree, Christian is a rare big brother, I am very blessed!

I don't know what we will watch yet, Lisa hasn't old us! :goodvibes

Another prayer warrior in your corner! God is so good, your daughter is amazing. . .guess she gets that from you! Couldn't agree more with the PP that said God picked you just for Lisa. . ."for such a time as this"! I pray this weekend brings rest, peace, strength and healing!
:welcome::welcome::welcome: to our TR! I LOVE new readers and I am happy you have come over form D~'s PTR! Thank you for letting me know you are here. :goodvibes:goodvibes I saw the wonderful support you gave D~ when Rufus was so sick and :hug: to you for what you have been through. We need all of the prayer warriors we can get! I truly apprectiate yours (amd Lisa's :goodvibes) kind words about me being Lisa's Mom...God prepared me for this child long before He gave her to me and I am totally blessed to be able to raise her. That journey is another God story. It always amazes me how He works out each and every detail! I don't know why thought, He can do all things! :goodvibes Thanks again for coming by and please come back and hang out with me as you prepare for your birthday trip! :woohoo::yay::woohoo:

When I spoke to Lisa B last night she thought it was the wound itself that needed to close and I wanted to make sure I cleared up any confusion. :flower3: At least I haven't posted pictures! :lmao::rotfl2: (You are wlecome Michelle! :goodvibes NOW, WHICH Michelle was I talking to????) :rotfl: Thank you for all of the prayers Sandra, they mean a lot!

My family has had their fair share of surgeries and emergency room visits and at one time I thought about becoming a nurse but my aversion to needles and blood made me decide that was not the best route for me. I just kind of guessed since it was Lisa's stomach that was leaking that should at least start to heal before her actual skin could heal. I really hope things are looking better today for her.

Enjoy your family day today!! It sounds like you guys are going to have a great time!!

I'm not one to ask for much but can you please keep my step-father in law in your prayers right now. He's been sick for awhile now but it sounds like he's getting worse (might not be with us for much longer). He's not eating, he keeps falling and can't get up and the worst part of it is he's an alchoholic and has no intention of stoping. We are going to go see him and my mother in law tomorrow afternoon so I'll hopefully know more then on how he's actually doing. Not trying to hjack your thread but you have a great group of followers and I really need some outside support right now as the kids love their grandpa and I don't know how I'm going to handle telling them that he's gone when he does go. In advance Thank you!!

Hi Judy,
I'm finally able to get on. I can't go back far on all your posts, but Lisa has filled me in. I'm so happy that Lisa got her feeding tube out. Sorry for the leaking problem. I will pray that itll heal on its own.I have 4 friends that their child got the tube out and it took at least a month to heal.I believe one did need surgery to close it up. I hope Lisa had a great birthday. I did try to get on multiple times and 1 page took 15 min to open up.
Glad Christian was able to spend time with family during spring break. Still praying Pete gets this job so it'll be one less thing you all have to worry about. Have a great family night:lovestruc

I'm just teasing Lisa about the tent. If I didn't tease her it would mean I didn't like her. I only tease people I like. That's why I bug D~ so much! I will gladly take the classroom and I don't even mind have a roomie. Alexa would love to sleep in the girls' room and she's fine on the floor with a sleeping bag. Truthfully, I'm fine anywhere but outdoors or the garage (and no shed either -- not sure if you have one, but want to clarify I don't do sheds). I'm very anti-snakes. Thank you guys!! I really do appreciate it. I'll be seeing him tomorrow so hopefully I'll know more of how he's doing once I actually get to see him and talk to him again. We don't see them often cuz I really hate the fighting him and my mother in law do and I try not to let my kids see that. Both my DS and DD are very observant and I really don't like having to answer the questions of why Grandma is always yelling at Grandpa. I'll be back tomorrow night to read more.

Hope you guys had an awesome family night!!! Hope Lisa starts to feel better soon.

A quick update, Family night was GREAT. We watched Toddler and Tiaras (NO JOKE, she loves that show and the boys spend the entire time expressing their disbelief at the parents and Rachel and I cringe at the horrible things some of these parents say to the children and vice versa and Pete is mostly oblivious). We went outside and ran around in the backyard some and then came in to play....DUN DUN DUN....a game called High School Musical. Back at Christmas a friend re-gifted the game to our family so we would have something under the tree. Her girls had had it for two years and it was still unopened. We have never seen High School Musical, although we actually do have the movies from several years ago. None of us had any idea about the answers, except for Rachel who was present back in fourth grade during a slumber party when they played it and she was in and out of the room as it played. She didn’t know much about it either though. The game was a cross between Truth or Dare, Trivial Pursuit, Charades and I don’t KNOW! While we were clueless we had so much fun and laughed so hard we were breathless from it all. It seemed like every move SOMEBODY (or PAIRS) had to get up and dance, it was hilarious!

I don’t know if all of the laughing had an impact on this or not, but Lisa’s leaking was MUCH worse last night, she came to me twice after she was put to bed to tell me she was leaking (more like gushing). I finally got in bed with her and just held gauze on the area for an hour, them was able to put an absorbent bandage on her. She is still asleep so I will assess her when she wakes up.

I will be back later for responses, I promise. Christian goes back to school today, I am sad. :sad1::sad2: So was Lisa, she was also crying a lot last night at bedtime, she will miss her big brother.

If you haven’t moved your clocks forward yet, don’t forget!

Ha, we forgot daylight savings last night. It wasn't until I went to bed that I thought about it. I didn't see anything to remind us so it wasn't until I REALLY looked at the clock on the computer this morning and saw the time on our clocks that we did forget to turn the clocks forward.

Glad you had a fun family night! We don't have that channel to watch that show. I've seen the HSM movies and the oldest granddaughter was in the play a couple of summers ago. Lots of singing and dancing so can only imagine what the game had you all doing! :rotfl:

Sorry that Lisa leaked or gushed so much last night! Praying for that stomach hole to heal up fast!

Judy,
Just wanted to stop by and say hello! Hoping you guys enjoyed your family night yesterday. We like family nights too. I'd be interested to hear Lisa's choices for the night. My kids make some interesting choices when it's thier turn. As always were thinking about you all and praying Lisa heals before Tuesday. Okay I just caught your update from this morning. Wonder how I missed that. We watch Toddlers in Tiaras too. Tess loves that show. We have a few high school musical games as well (not sure if we have the one you played) and the kids still get them out from time to time even though we haven't watched the movies for a few years. The girls used to really like the movies though. I am so very sorry to hear that Lisa's wound took a turn for the worse last night. the poor thing. I am definatley praying it gets better soon.

I hope Lisa doesn't need the endoscopy to close her site. Prayers going up. Your family night sounds like fun. We are clueless when it comes to High School Musical as well.

I've been having problems getting on the DIs lately. I will do a PTR but first I need to think of a good title;) Guess I better get moving on that before the trip is here and gone!

Since Lisa has an American Girl doll I thought I would ask you. Sierra want's to do a Downy Dunk with her doll. I think this means washing her hair in Downy. Have you heard of this?

Ty is getting his GJ tube on Monday. I'm a bit uneasy with not being able to change it at home. He had one several years ago. Maybe 4ish? And it coiled and had to be pulled. I don't want it to slip out of place while we are away from home.

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: obviously you missed the part of my post about the toga of how I "sewed" I used heat and bond for the hem's :rotfl::rotfl: honey I can barely sew a button back on let alone an entire outfit!
the school provides the outfits, we just rent them for the year!

I read it - but then I couldn't remember where the choir outfit was coming from - so I was UBER impressed with your sewing skills! :worship:

But, yes, now I understand . . . the school rents them to you  so basically you have to PAY to be in choir? That makes me a little sad. . . I guess at least if you have to rent them it's nice that they look great! I remember choir outfits from high school . . .not so pretty.

well maybe I should of said I made the outfit :rotfl::rotfl:

this is what I've had to pay so far this year....and this is public school
$30 for renting outfit
$35 for "membership"
$15 for end of year party
$25 for transporation costs
$10 for retreat (paid for pizza and drinks)
fundraising - had pies at thanksgiving bought 5 ($25)
shoes and hose $20

but the money is worth it, Megan is enjoying choir and that's all that matters :goodvibes

Judy, prayers and hugs and lots of positive thoughts heading your way. I've been thinking of Lisa lots lately.

Lisa, Megan looks lovely in her choral outift. Does it help you feel any better to know that I had to pay similar costs when my DS was in Drama Club in middle school (and it was a private school)? Club expenses on top of tuition. :rolleyes1 But he enjoyed it loads, and that was all that mattered.

SO much happening, THANK YOU for all of the messages and for the prayers. I am humbled, Thank you. Please keep signing in when you can I AM reading and the messages lift my spirits. Sorry I missed your Call Lisa, Chiara did a great job on the shirts and Megan is so pretty.

We had some disturbing lab values for Bandit at the Veterinarian, he will return next Friday, they have added another medicine.

I am sorry I don’t have time to DIS more. This is simply an incredibly busy week. There is a LOT going on and LOTS of information. Plus we have had additional activities thrown in. David, Rachel and Lisa all worked this AM at the Governor’s Tourism Convention held in Concord. They volunteered as “actors” at the luncheon that was held, representing different icons from our area. David was Charlie, the USS NC Battleship Mascot, Rachel was an artist and Lisa was a Southern Belle. They were paid and also fed lunch (They didn’t include parents, to bad, the food looked good). Here are a few pics, I don’t have any with David’s hand and croc feet on, they had kicked us out by the time he put them on.

Lisa’s GI doctor wanted to do the PEG closing Friday; however, they still haven’t gotten insurance approval, so it is scheduled for Tuesday, March 20 at 7 AM...no worries, we will already be in-patient to wean over to heparin. I hope to find out at tomorrow's hematology appt. when they plan to admit her...she was leaking a lot tonight. She got so tired on the way to ballet that she was unable to dance, so she didn’t. We still had guitar and jazz ensemble for Rachel (Pete took her) and Aviation Explorers for David. David and I got home after 9....

Tomorrow we have four MD appts, Lisa has voice and David has engineering, Thursday we have 2 MD appts, David is working at the Aviation Museum and Lisa is supposed to have ballet...theater has ended for the moment, PTL!

We have 3 MD appts Friday and then Saturday David will be in the St. Patrick’s Day Parade with the Firefighters and Rachel and Lisa have 4H...so these are MY plans, lets see what the hematologist comes up with tomorrow to change all of that.

To add to the fun. Pete received all of the information he needed from the company he has been interviewing with. He accepted. They want him to start Monday....You just have to love our lives and the timing of things....Stay Tuned....

My 11 year old daughter is in band. It is the ONLY reason she went back to public school. There was a $150 band fee that included 6 months of instrument rental. She has her own flute, and didn't need the instrument rental. I also had already bought the book they were using this year...did I get a cost break on the band fee? NOPE! We also had to rent the uniform....$25.00... and then had to include $5 when we turned it in for cleaning. THEY NEVER WORE THE UNIFORM!!!! The only time they wore it was the morning they turned it in for the year book pictures! Now that band 'season' is over...they spend all day watching videos. Some of which I do NOT approve of, but the students get to choose....

What school does your friend's kid go too? Megan went to Penny Creek.....they had different programs for challenge there!
Megan is in the challenge block class at middle school, I'm happy with all her teachers and the curriculm too! High school I might send her to private mostly due to the sizes of our high schools and the one she is supposed to go to doesn't have the best reputation, not the best part of town and has had some gang issues in the past, its gotten better, but still scares me! Megan went to montessori for 3 years, 2 preschool and then kindergarten!

David was supposed to work at the Aviation Museum from 10-4 today; however, due to multiple changes to what they plan to do to Lisa on Tuesday, David is only working 10 to 2. Lisa and Rachel each have MD appts this AM, different places. We had to add a dental appt for Lisa to today's schedule, they want to ensure things are okay for her to be put to sleep. She is also supposed to have ballet at 4:30 if she is up to it, she is exhausted. If my nutrition was pouring out my gut, I imagine I would be exhausted as well. The plan for Lisa has changed MULTIPLE times Wednesday and we are waiting to hear back from the GI doc on the final thoughts/procedure. As it is,her procedure has been changed from 7 AM to 1:00 PM. Poor sweetie will be starving. They NEED to do it in the main OR (duh, she has a cardiac condition). They have decided that IF they can change the procedure , they will use levonox to bridge her, with just a brief use of the heparin drip which will require a MUCH shorter hospital stay. They have ALWAYS told us in the past this is NEVER an option for her, so this has me on pins and needles. It is a medicine that I will inject twice a day into her abdomen and can cause horrible bruising (just what we need, more abdominal things). They also told me it burns like the dickens as it is injected...wonderful and I get to be the evil one to do it to her. Honestly the plan changed so many times Wednesday I was going nutso. I called the pharmacy to ensure they had the meds, they only had two doses; however, would have enough to get us started. While I am in the middle of an important MD appt for David, Pete calls to tell me the insurance will not pay for it (get this they would ONLY help pay for BRAND name product, not generic...that told me a LOT about this medicine)...I talked Pete through what/how to work through this and there was not ANY of the meds we needed within driving distance, per the pharmacy. In the meantime, I got a call from our sweet nurse at the hematology clinic (My phone, with limited minutes was in overdrive today)...Lisa had to be stuck TWICE at clinic, much to her sadness and our little nurse inadvertently put DAVID’s Labels on LISA’s blood...she felt horrible...so did I....I also didn’t want her to get in trouble, we love her, but SO not what we needed! With the addition of this new injectable med, comes the need to have labs drawn at EXACTLY four hours after administration to check levels on Friday...the problem..we have NO IDEA when we will have the meds....and we have TWO MD appts...after that though THEN we should know the plan for Lisa....we better!!!

As for Pete’s job, we are VERY grateful, it isn’t perfect, but doable. It is a slight pay cut (again) and it adds an extra 44 miles to his daily commute, which means more gas and more time...The insurance APPEARS comparable; although, the prescription plan is MUCH higher...The best part, they are SAYING all the right things about working with us about Lisa. We didn’t tell them everything, they acted as if it weren’t necessary...but we felt the need to be honest that we DO have children with health needs and those needs MUST come first. Too many times Pete has had to put his job before the family, for fear of losing his job...After being laid off a SECOND time and doing everything right, I think he realizes family must come before job, within reason. He will be so far away it will be very difficult for him to help me if that should become necessary though.

Thank you all for your continued prayers, your support, your messages and kindness. God IS AMAZING and he has seen us through incredibly rough days. My Faith is ALWAYS in Him and He never lets me down. Now I must try and get a little sleep.

Andrea - I'm so confused. I know you're asking me a question or two, but I'm not sure what they are exactly. Sorry - it's late and I'm tired. Care to clarify? :)

I really wasn't asking questions -- I was more or less trying to say that while I think it's odd to have to pay $$ for an activity, such as choir, at a public school that I have heard such good things from my other friend about the school district in the area that I wouldn't mind handing over a little $ here and there.

:rotfl: yes I did rock the heat and bond didn't I :thumbsup2:rotfl2:

Judy, hope today went well and no long waits at the doctors offices!

I'll be home tomorrow until 1115 until I leave to go chaparone Megan's choir festival outing then home after 300....if you are around let me know!

 &
I have no idea what school it is -- she is the one that lives in Port Orchard.
I think private HS sounds like a wise idea. We started ds in private K b/c the class size at our public school was just too large. The public school in RI had one teacher and 31 or 32 kids!!! My ds is very quiet and well behaved, so if he didn't understand something he'd be the one to get lost and not say anything. His K class had 7 kids in it. When we moved here the class size was 25, but the teacher had an assistant and the older kids also help teach the younger ones. For example, the first graders had to read a loud to a third grader. Now ds has 13 kids in his class (4th -6th) and dd has 12 (1st thru 3rd). DD tutors some of the first graders in reading -- she's only in 2nd grade but she's very ahead in reading. I love the small class sizes and I love that I can really stay on top who my kids are hanging out with.

Be careful though what private school you use -- we have an excellent (and very $$$$) collegiate prep school in Norfolk, but lately they apparently have a big drug problem b/c a lot of wealthy kids attend the school. They also have many kids there that attend on legacy rather than intellect. Just do your research. The priciest isn't always the best.

David was supposed to work at the Aviation Museum from 10-4; however, due to multiple changes to what they plan to do to Lisa on Tuesday, David is only working 10 to 2. Lisa and Rachel each have MD appts tomorrow AM, different places. We had to add a dental appt for Lisa to tomorrows schedule, they want to ensure things are okay for her to be put to sleep. She is also supposed to have ballet at 4:30 if she is up to it, she is exhausted. If my nutrition was pouring out my gut, I imagine I would be exhausted as well. The plan for LIsa has changed MULTIPLE times today and we are waiting to hear back from the GI doc on the final thoughts/procedure. Honestly the plan changed so many times today I was going nutso. I called the pharmacy to ensure they had the meds, they only had two doses; however, would have enough to get us started. Your schedule is making my :headache: worse! I so feel for you!

Sorry Pete has a longer commute. My dh has a long commute as well, but we feel living in a nicer area is more important than living close to work. The crappy thing is with me driving the kids to and from school I spend just as much time in the car as dh does each day (two hours per day per person!).

I hope everything goes well with whatever is finalized with Lisa's meds. I'll just be glad once this is all over so Lisa can get her energy back.

I have SO much to contribute on the Private School Convo (we have done everything here...public, private, charter, homeschool...just NO time.

Your schedule is making my :headache: worse! I so feel for you!
NO worries, this has been my schedule for so long, it is just normal. I have had a bit of a reprieve with Pete home, but that is coming to an end...I will have even less time to DIS,talk, email, PM etc....those ARE my relaxers though....

We don't live in a nice area any more (we have been here 14 years and seen a decline). Our house is in disrepair due to money goes to medical bills, not maintenance. I would LOVE to move if we could sell our present house....but you know that one all too well. It would move closer to Marianne, it would be a good proximity to Pete's job! I can so relate to all of the miles you drive. :grouphug:

Judy, hope today went well and no long waits at the doctors offices!
Oh I am laughing so hard, Lisa looked at me at mr one point yesterday morning and said "Just how long do they plan to keep us waiting???" Child Life was tied up and they have JUST stopped being able to serve juice/snacks due to OSHA! They have always had snacks since Lisa became a patient in 2005, typically mine don't want a snack...wouldn't you know yesterday was the day Lisa was hungry!
I'll be home tomorrow until 1115 until I leave to go chaparone Megan's choir festival outing then home after 300....if you are around let me know!

 &
I will be out all day again, I might have a 30 minute break before ballet, but I need to reload the children';s medicine boxes. I miss you too!

Oooh! I'd pitch a BIG Ol' FIT! That's horrible, Nini! :sad2:
I found public and charter school to be extremely expensive. They always had us buy TONS of supplies they NEVER used and everything had a fee or charge associated with it...:sad2:

Judy!!!! I am SO happy for you that Pete was able to accept the job and he starts Monday!!!! Is the job here in Charlotte? Where will he be working???
It is in Charlotte, almost in SC and near you! It is the same one that has been after him since January and they finally offered it to him...but the offer was far less than we had hoped/prayed for, especially after all of the wait and the president flying in. God will NOT let us flounder, so I know it will meet our needs. They REALLY wanted Pete so you would have thought it would have been better; however, I THINK they want to work with us and our medial stuff and that IS more important than money and benefits.
What time does David have to work at the aviation museum tomorrow? And Lisa dances down near Blakney or somewhere, right? If you're going to be sitting around someplace, let me know, maybe the boys & I can come meet you and we can sit in the sunshine someplace and chat :) I'm pretty free tomorrow after 1pm :)
As much as I would LOVE to sit in the sunshine and chat I will not be able to .
Tuesday night I was sitting out at the business valet at the airport for two hours (Aviation)....I do that every other Tuesday if that ever works for you! Next time David's at the museum maybe we could do that!

Thank you Judy! I will definately watch the eyes. She would be heartbroken for sure. So glad to hear Pete was offered the job and starts on MONDAY!!! I am sorry to hear Lisa's peg stoma needs to be surgically closed. But hopefully once they do this it will not give her anymore problems. Then it will seem more "final".
Thank you!!!
I started my ptr. Haven't spent alot of time on it just yet with Ty's apts and his IEP meeting that took me by surprise and not for the good unfortunately. But that is another story for another day. Tomorrow he has speech then Friday Sierra has a Band Competition she has been looking so forward to all week.
Oooh , I need to get by and read!! popcorn:: I can relate to the busy days! :grouphug:
Hope you have a good day tomorrow!

I am sorry to hear that surgery is necessary to close Lisa's PEG hole.:hug::hug: As always your entire family is in our prayers. You know that lottery winning we were always talking about. Our mega millions is up to 200 million this week so I figured I should actually buy a ticket this week:laughing:.
Thank you Krystal. :goodvibesThe children did a great job and Lisa was so cute, blowing kisses! Oh I pray your family would win the lottery, I know you are all so VERY deserving!!! I was clueless the lottery was up, I had to google to see which one it was!
Love the pics of them dressed up. Lisa's derss is fab. Hope her surgery goes well and congrats to Pete on getting the job.

Hoping things go well with Lisa's PEG and Bandit!!! :littleangel:

Love you and thinking of you!!!
Thanks for thinking of us Marv, it is just so busy around here, it is good to know we have others praying for our needs! Love to you!

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: I'm just laughing with you about what I know about your sewing skills and the heat and bond hem.
My kind of sewing, I find packing tape works well too!

Beautiful pics! It looks like the children had a lot of fun and Lisa makes the perfect Southern Belle :flower3:
They did and Lisa was so charming!
CONGRATS TO PETE on landing the job! I am so happy for you :) I hope it has the salary and benefits you need -- even if it's not quite perfect, it has to be better than dealing with Cobra. I hope he really enjoys the job and that the hours aren't exacerbating so you can still have your helper around a bit.
Actually I need the COBRA, we will have to start all over again with deductibles and maximum out of pockets once he is eligible in three months for insurance. SO much money lost...
I am sad to hear Bandit is having a little set back. Did they ever come up with any definitive diagnosis? I hope he stays well.
Immunosuppressed illness, which I feel sure we know the source of...I will share it with you all when you come to visit, it sounds fantastical...
Glad you have answers about Lisa's stoma -- wish it didn't involve a hospital stay for her but I will be praying that it all goes smoothly.
Thank you!!!

Wow, I hope and pray that everything will work out for the best for Lisa and that the hospital stay will be shorter because of all of this! I don't know how you do this Judy! I would be like this :scared1: and also have a :headache:.

Hopefully after Pete works at the company for awhile that there will be raises and bonuses! God is so good and He will provide. I feel for Pete on the long commute. I had to do that for a couple of years and then took early retirement. No more bumper to bumper traffic and hour long commutes. My supervisor allowed me to start early and leave early to avoid the worst parts of the traffic times. Now I live in a state that has no traffic problems at all. :)

I was stressing some yesterday with all of the changes and My worry over this new medicine I have to administer. I DO like less time in the hospital though! If we had a PLAN in place I would feel a LOT better!

I tried to get him to ask about different hours, but Pete was afraid to rock the boat. I said THEY wanted ONLY him, he was in the driver's seat, the job was really written with him in mind. If we could sell our house and move, it would be a HUGE blessing! I wish we lived near you, for MANY reasons...now add no traffic! I am glad Pete got the job. I am praying that God uses it to meet all your needs.

Levonox is not a fun drug. I had to take it after I had my stroke. One nurse told me that they fought over who got to administer mine because I was the only patient who was pleasant while they gave it. That surprised me...I mean, it is for your good...why grumble? After all, I am grown, not a child!

I hope they get Lisa's meds just right and it isn't too difficult to get them. Praying for your family daily.

No Mom should have to wake their child up at 1 in the morning to give them a shot in their already sore abdomen. I have to do that in a few hours and I am not happy. We had to take Lisa back to the hematologist this afternoon, to get her first dose of Lovenox. I was afraid of side effects and wanted to be near medical assistance if necessary. It was very painful, Lisa doesn’t have a lot of fat, but she is sore and swollen. Poor sweetie just cried when Hannah gave her the shot and it was the first time I ever saw her NOT speak to one of the nurses after they hurt her. She said this was horrible and I had to agree quietly in my head. I am NOT looking forward to this.

We have two MD appointments in the AM, then Lisa needs another shot at noon and we go to the hematologist at 3:30 for labs and more assessment. This has turned into a bigger deal once again than they portrayed to us Wednesday and it actually put me at more ease today with the heightened concern. I had been feeling such worry since yesterday when they told us the change of plans yet again. I am happy to say that more conservative heads have prevailed and the cardiologist has stepped up to say they MUST do things the CHOP way, he did acquiesce to the lovenox, although it was NOT his choice. They still might have to put Lisa in the hospital earlier than they hoped, it all depends on how she reacts. As Dr. B said to day, Lisa bounces to her own ball...that cracked us up, because it is SO true, she NEVER fits the pattern for ANYTHING!

So here is the current plan, as of 6 PM. Lisa will be admitted to the hospital Monday at 8 AM for surgery on Tuesday, March 20. As most know, She had her feeding tube removed on February 24, and, unfortunately, she is still leaking gastric (stomach) contents from the stomach to the outside of her body through the hole. They plan to go in and put clips in her stomach to try and stop the drainage. They will also do a biopsy.* Lisa is on coumadin, which complicates matters. She is having to wean from the coumadin to lovenox, which is injected into her already sore abdomen, twice a day. We are having daily visits to the MD and labs drawn daily to get Lisa to a therapeutic dosage. Monday they will begin a heparin drip to have and utilize during the surgery. Recovery depends on exactly what they have to do once they look inside and how much bleeding she will have. The projected stay is Monday through Friday; however, that is all up in the air at the moment. Lisa MUST have two consecutive labs showing therapeutic levels for her coumadin before we can go home after her surgery. In November, it took five days following her cardiac cath to return to therapeutic range. This is change number 7 to the hospital plan since March 9. I feel more assured today though, which is a blessing. Pete has had to postpone the start of his job; however, his new boss was very kind about it when Pete called him this evening. Please keep Lisa and our family in prayer as we embark yet again on a tumultuous journey. March 18 will be the ninth anniversary of Lisa's first Open Heart Surgery. It has been quite a never-ending journey. Oh there is SO much more to tell, but this will suffice. I am dreading 1 AM...

Oh Judy!

Please let me know what I can do to help. If you need me to come sit with Lisa at the hospital for a while, say the word. If you need me to drop off some dinner at the house, say the word. If you need me to bring you a drink and some magazines and have a chat at the hospital, say the word.
Which hospital will she be at? C or P? I'm assuming uptown either way.

Hate that all of this is happening to Princess Lisa. I will continue to pray for her. Hopefully, things will be figured out and will get better. I know that in time that it will, but hopefully sooner rather than later. I said a prayer for her tonight when I was in the Village, I had a small downtime, so i went into the chapel. Please give her a hug for me and let her know that I am thinking of her. Hope others are doing well. Miss you guys.

Congrats about the job for Pete!! Hopefully they see what an asset Pete is and good things come your way!!

So sorry to hear that Lisa has to go in for surgery. Hope everything goes through with no problems.

I'm still here just dealing with the family situation. I had a nice long talk with my mother in law today after I got home from working in my kids Preschool and basically told her that if she doesn't start telling the Dr everything that's going on with my step father in law then I'm going to find someone to watch my kids for me and I'm going to go with them to his next appt. She promised me she would but we'll see what happens in a couple weeks when he goes back in.

Now to top all this off my son's teacher told me today that he was hitting his classmates and if it continues then she's going to have to call me and I'll have to go get him. When I tried talking to him about it he didn't really have an answer to why he was doing it. Plus I now have my daughter going through seperation anxiety the last few weeks and I just don't know what to do. She crys anytime my DH or I try to leave her and she really has no answers to what she's feeling. I know she's only 3 but this is so hard cuz she now has the baby feeding off of her. Please let my sanity stay intact through all this. Disney take me away!!! :rotfl: Sorry I needed a good laugh!!

 to Judy and Lisa. I honestly thought Lisa would handle the Lovenox really well since she has endured so much with such grace throughout her lifetime. I really feel awful for her, and for you to have to give it to her. I am praying the lab results necessary to make everything go smoothly.

Marianne, you are so incredibly sweet to offer to keep Judy company at the hospital or sit with Lisa :flower3: I know you have two young boys yourself, so for you to make the time to do this is really kind.

I have THE MOST AMAZING daughter! I was dreading giving her that shot at 1 in the morning with every fiber of my being. Pete set his clock and came downstairs at 12:50 to see if I needed help. I was sitting there, syringe in hand, ready to go and praying. We went back upstairs and he held the flashlight while I cleaned the area with alcohol. I was TRYING to give her the shot without waking her up. I know, horrible of me, right? She was exhausted when she went to bed. So here I was, I was cleaning the area and she started flicking at it as if she was itching, and still asleep. She began to roll over to change positions and I rolled her back. Now remember, she has a bi-pap machine on every night...and is such a trooper about all of that and has been since age FIVE. So I am trying to keep her on her back, avoid the tubing clean the area and give her a shot...without waking her up. I took the syringe and stuck her, her eyes flew open, I gently pushed the plunger in, then pulled out the syringe, the entire time talking soothingly to her and guiding her to lie back down, apologizing gently and telling her how brave she was. She reached up and hugged me and said, "That's okay Mommy" I love you". I hugged her, stroked her hair then left her to fall back asleep.

I ask you how many of your OWN children would handle that scenario with the grace and understanding of that amazing child of mine? She is no less than incredible! I want to THANK YOU ALL for the messages, I read those posted around 12:30 to gather my courage to do this to my child. I literally had tears streaming down my face from all of your kind, understanding words. I appreciated the input from those of you who have experienced lovenox first-hand. It isn't like insulin, that is certain. It isn't so much the needle itself, but the liquid burn inside, from what I understand. I will not have time for individual responses right now, but I will give it a start!

C or P? I'm assuming uptown either way.

 hugs my friend.
You are such a sweetie Marianne, I know you have your own hands full, but I appreciate your compassion and understanding! I know you have been a huge support to your friends in their own journey with ill children and I so appreciate your reaching out to me! You of course are always welcome to come for a visit, but I realize you have two little ones (HOMESCHOOLED so no built in babysitters). Your offer really touched me, as did your kind words!
We will be at P Main, which feels like home to me, since I lived there three years (Literally at the hospital, in the dorms). It is SO much better than having to go to Philly! God Bless you again for your generous offer and for understanding how tough this is!

Hate that all of this is happening to Princess Lisa. I will continue to pray for her. Hopefully, things will be figured out and will get better. Thank you Daniel, your message just made me cry when I read it, I so wanted to be back at GKTW and NOT thinking about any of this! You know how much time at spent in the chapel at GKTW and what a comfort it was to me, and I appreciate the fact you went there and said a prayer for her. I am getting teary thinking about it, the prayers worked! I will tell her you are thinking of her and that you send her a hug! We miss you too, have an ice cream and think of us! I truly wish I could go back to the magic of the village, it has been a hard four months since we left.

Judy I am quite sorry to read this updates and see how painful this is for both of you.

Allison takes Humira SQ. She gives herself the shots and it is a very painful medicine as well. I have had adults tell me how much they hated taking it because of the pain. Her doctor gave us LMX (lidocaine cream) to apply an hour ahead of the shot time. It is the same thing they use when starting IV's on little ones. If she has to continue it may be worth asking about. I am not sure how that all would affect her..... Allison said it varies on how much it dulls the pain, but it reduces the anxiety of sticking herself because she at least has the thought it may not hurt as much.

Prayers for Lisa!

Thank you so much Sherri, I could have used one of your comforting hugs! I know you get it and it doesn't matter how old our children are, it HURTS our heart to see them hurt or in pain. THANK YOU for understanding! It didn't help that the meds didn't get in until 1 and we had to gve it at 2! We are slowly moving the time back we can only adjust the does back in hour increments, so HOPEFULLY by Sunday we will be on a 9 and 9 schedule.

Thank you so much for the kind words and good wishes! We are so ready for some boring days of work, school and home...I would like to know what that is like!

Yes boring days are nice. Especially when it seems like all of yours are go, go, go. Here's some pixiedust: that you get that down time!!

 for your family, Alcoholism is a horrible, family wide disease and i am sorry yours is enduring this. You MUST go to the next MD appt if you can, your MIL is an enabler and incapable of coming clean on this. She has spent a lifetime of hiding it!

My MIL is in complete denial about everything that my SFIL does and is. I think I'm going to have my DH talk to her this weekend and stress again the importance of the Dr. knowing everying that is going on and that she really needs to push for more tests to be done. I think he also needs to push her that one of us needs to go with them to the next appt to make sure that all of our concerns are addressed. Thanks for the support!!

Are the kids exposed to any of the drama at the in-laws or are they picking up on anything you and your DH are having to endure? Both hitting and sep. anxiety are toughies!. Your son might be unable to express what is happening and he might be the "end result" of someone else picking on him....:grouphug::grouphug: It could also just be a phase for both of them.

I try to keep them away from it as much as possible. We only go see the two of them about 2 - 3 times a month because I don't want the kids exposed to it. They do nothing but fight and yell at each other and I really don't think that is a healthy way for the kids to remember their grandparent's. I also try not to talk to my DH about any of it until the kids are in bed but they could be feeding off of me and I don't realize it. Since I am with them all day long. I don't really think my son is being picked on at school since I'm there at least once a week and I try to work in areas where my kids like to be so I can see what's going on. But it could be something that's happening on Friday's since that is the one day I don't work for sure and it's a combined class of Mon/Wed/Fri kids and Tues/Thurs/Fri kids. Guess I'll be watching even more next week when I'm there again on Tuesday. I was also thinking hitting could be his way of getting attention due to the way his sister acts anytime we try to leave. Right now I'm just trying to take it one day at a time so hopefully it all ends soon!!

Please know that I am praying hard that his new employers continue to be so gracious and supportive of all of you, so that Pete can be there for Lisa - where he needs to be most. (((hugs)))

And as for that little trooper herself... Please send her the biggest hugs ever! Please tell her that we are all praying for her. She is such a strong girl and you are such a strong momma - I don't know that I could ever be as brave as both of you. Many, many prayers and (((BIG HUGS))))

I looked, and it's LMX4. Guess I can remember things!! Anyway, thinking about you and sending happy thoughts for good results today!

We use ANY of it EMLA, LMX4, generic....if it takes the pain away, it is worth a shot. I asked again about using the cream for shots and they said it will not hurt, but it will not help. I understand the theory since it is topical and will not help with the burn/pain of the meds. I "get it" but I say if it will not hurt, go for it..why not!
Sweet Lisa is such a little warrior :goodvibes for everything she endures and then she comforts her wonderful mama....she is truly an inspiration to me :goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes I am sitting here with tears in my eyes .....

hope she is doing okay this morning, and the bleeding has stopped in her mouth. will focus my prayers that she tolerates the drug changes and this will shorten her hospital stay.

grateful she will be in a local hospital so you won't be away from the kids! will your folks be able to come help out and visit her too?

as always  & and LOTS OF PIXIE DUST
Thank so much for caring and for always being there for us Lisa. I am sorry I missed your call, we were taking Bandit for a walk, we had just finished dinner. Pete was waiting on a call form his mom and one of his brothers...which never came. I hope we can catch up tomorrow for just a few minutes, there is a LOT I have to accomplish tomorrow. My Mom has finally agreed to let David and Rachel spend two nights with them, so that helps me but also causes more work to pack and drive them there...I am happy to be local, but would love the CHOP team...
 Hugs to your family. So sorry that Lisa is going through all that. She is a strong little girl.

:woohoo: I am so happy that Pete accepted the offer. I have faith that once they see how wonderful he is they will offer him $$. Maybe they will open a company in RI and you can come live up here. We have a great children's hospital right in Providence.:goodvibes

:scratchin My curiosity is getting the better of me. I know you had problems with MNSSHP and I know if I should go (still hoping for the dates to be there when we go) it probably won't live up to my expectations. The same thing happened when we went in Dec,2010. I always wanted to go to the MVMCP and we left at 10pm because I was so cold and my DS2 had somehow managed to get himself all wet:sad2: and I never got to see the parade:sad1:

Thank you Michelle, I appreciate the warm words/wishes. I would love to live near you...but I hear it is hard to sell a home in RI....but I know of a good one if I need it. :goodvibes

MNSSHP...if it hadn't been for Lisa and Megan wanting to go with us to the party, I would never have bought the tickets in advance and I would NOT have gone the night we went...it was a most UN-MAGICAL time and as you have heard, I had the worst of the worst comments made to us that night. It truly was shameful...and thankfully I have Lisa B as my witness that I could NOT have been nicer....I am afraid you will feel the same about MNSSHP as you did about MVMCP...

Marianne, I bet I know what you did today...I can't WAIT to see the pic, I forgot my camera! Are you getting any of the thunder/lightning going on outside???

Hi sweetie, I hope the party is going well, sounds like a lot of fun at your house tonight! :goodvibes
Yes boring days are nice. Especially when it seems like all of yours are go, go, go. Here's some pixiedust: that you get that down time!!

Prayers and :grouphug::hug: for everything going on, I know it is tough! One day (sometimes one hour) at a time is the best and only way to handle things!

Judy and family... Look at all you've been through while we've been gone. I am so sorry dear friend. (((Hugs))) Please know that I thought of all of you often and prayed many times for Lisa.
Thank you D~ I know you were busy, but I appreciate your prayers for us.
I am so thankful that Pete got the job and that his new boss is so understanding. I can't imagine how hard it must be for Pete to be there for Lisa but also know that he needs to be working as well... I can't imagine what a hard inner struggle that must be for him. Please know that I am praying hard that his new employers continue to be so gracious and supportive of all of you, so that Pete can be there for Lisa - where he needs to be most. (((hugs)))
Thank you for understanding that, so many don't.
And as for that little trooper herself... Please send her the biggest hugs ever! Please tell her that we are all praying for her. She is such a strong girl and you are such a strong momma - I don't know that I could ever be as brave as both of you. Many, many prayers and (((BIG HUGS))))

D~
That made me teary D~, Thank you for the kind words. My Princess has endured so much for the past nine years...it all began nine years ago...yesterday was the anniversary of my knowing something wasn't right, Today is the anniversary of our wild ride to Chapel Hill and tomorrow is the anniversary of her first open heart surgery....quite an emotional weekend....
Happy St. Patrick's day! Hope David had a great time in the parade and that Rachel and Lisa enjoyed 4H today! Keeping Lisa in prayer that everything will work out as she is being prepared for her surgery. Praying that her coumadin numbers goes down to where they need to be! Also praying that God will show you if there's any problem with Lisa during the next few days until the surgery. I know you are busy preparing for the hospital stay so praying that God will give you rest and strength today and throughout this coming week.
Thank you Gail for the good wishes, I loved talking to you today. Lisa has not been well tonight, I have changed her bandage 12 (yes TWELVE times) since we had dinner and the last time was a very strange exudate, so I am watching her closely...it will be another long night.

I hope you don't mind me asking this (If you do, I will remove it). Without going into details, I ask everyone to keep Billy's sister in prayer for her health needs. (Billy is Gail's husband, and it is her SIL, obviously).

We had a LONG day at the MD appts on Friday. We were at all the MD's until 6:45 last night, it was a long day, got home at 7:15 and had to feed everyone (we didn't expect such a long visit). I had to keep the phone lines open as I waited for the hematologist to call us back with very important labs, we knew her INR was still 5 by finger prick (that is what it was on Wednesday and should have gone down). Doc finally called at 9:45, Lisa was therapeutic on the Lovenox, BUT, she was still over 4 on her INR levels from the blood draw. She was going to have us start vitamin k to reverse the INR, and go to the hospital Sunday to have labs drawn, but that becomes a slippery slope, especially following surgery. She changed her mind on that plan, so the GOOD news was that we could STOP the Lovenox this weekend because Lisa's blood is much to thin. She has bruises on her elbows from just resting her arms on the table, we touch her and she is bruising. Her poor legs are a mess, with hard knots. She was swollen at the MD office yesterday afternoon and as the doc said "just didn't look right". I am watching her, the doc was concerned that she might have something wrong with her kidneys , because she isn't clearing the coumadin from her system the way she should be. The plan is to let us stay home until Monday AM and start her heparin drip as soon as we check in and give IV vitamin K if necessary...UNLESS, per the doctor, my "mommy radar picks up something isn't quite right", so of course I am watching her doubly to ensure she is okay!

This evening I feel something isn't right, due to all of the drainage...but I can't pinpoint anything so I will be in and out all night to ensure she is okay. So much more to say, but why...you all get it...but my relief at NOT having to give her the Lovenox is immense! Poor sweetie has tender bruises all over her abdomen...

oh poor little thing...can't imagine how she's feeling....happy you don't have to give her the lovenox anymore....do you think her drainage is an infection?
