grib rental

We will be staying at the BC in Dec. of this year. My question is has anyone ever rented a grib at the resorts?
I heard that they are pak-n-play style. Would it be easier for me to bring my own?
Any thoughts and comments would be helpful.
By the way, at the time of the trip our daughter will be 11 months old,

I could be wrong, but I don't think you rent them, I thought they'd just bring one up if you requested it or put it on your reservation free of charge. Again, I could be wrong...

The cribs are pack n play style with disney character sheets and blankets. You do not have to rent them, just request one on your reservation.

I used the WDW crib when my daughter was 9 mos. old, she had no problem adjusting to the new sleeping space.

When we were there this past November my 2 year old DD slept in a metal portacrib supplied by the Swan hotel. My brother's family stayed at the BWV and they had the same exact crib for their 1 year old DD. (with the Mickey sheets, bumpers and comforter). It was not a pack n play but a metal portacrib. (which I like better).

Never in a million years thought my dd would sleep in it, but she did just fine, even napped in it, no problem. You just need to request a crib either when making a reservation or when you check in, it doesn't cost extra.

Thank you all for your input. I did request a grib when I made my ressies. Just could not remember if it was a charge.

We are leaving Sunday for Boardwalk Villas.... I believe they have the pack/play in all the rooms... My daughter is 14 months but she is definitely too tall for that... I was told that you can request a crib... I think they have metal frames ... I was also told to bring your own crib sheet because the one they give you is just a flat sheet that they tuck under the mattress.

I was also told that one side is lower but I can always I guess put that side against the wall.

When my brother and his family stayed at BWV they had the metal crib (not a pack n play) for their one year old dd. The sheet is not a "fitted" sheet but keep in mind if you bring your own fitted sheets that their cribs are smaller than your standard crib at home so the sheet you bring will still be big (I tried it). I think you're better off with a regular sheet. My daughter slept in the same crib at 2 years old and it worked fine with her (she didn't pull it off). They also supply bumpers.

Yes, pack-n-play is the "grib" you get at the resorts. If you bring your own, be prepared for much filth if you fly (because you'll have to check it). Since the foundation is a plastic covered cushioned pad, we have always used a thick towel, folded in half, under the sheet to reduce the crinkle noises that result when the bambino moved about during sleep. It helped provide a more restful sleep...

Thanks for the hints I was thinking of taking mine but the thought of it getting tossed around and dirty makes me rethink it. Also the towel sounds like a good idea, anything to help those babies sleep!

Just for the record as I already mentioned, when we were there in November we had a metal porta crib, not a pack n play at the Swan and my brother ALSO had the same crib we did at BWV for his daughter, so the pack n plays are not the only type of crib they have.

Bring along a few diaper pins to secure the sheet to the bottom of the mattress. Then, you can make the sheets fit snugly and not have to worry about them pulling free.

BTW - thanks for the towel tip, I'm gonna use this one!
