Hey all! Welcome to our Trip Report!

If you are wondering who “We” are well I will introduce my clan then I will let my travel partner introduce her clan

My half of the travel party is:

Me, Natalie a 35 year old single mom of 3 (my 17 year old won’t go to Disney with us anymore though) I am the planner of all things Disney and I get as much joy out of planning the trip as I do in going on the trip, in fact I think I am always working on planning a trip (even when I am in the world)

http://i1107.photobucket.com/albums/h387/MickeyTinkMom/2011%20TR%20day%201/27.jpg

Eryka my 9 year old daughter (last year as a child at Disney) She enjoys going to Disney mainly for the coasters and I think in a couple of years she will be like my son and won’t want to go anymore :sad1:

http://i1107.photobucket.com/albums/h387/MickeyTinkMom/2011%20TR%20day%201/25.jpg

Emma my 7 year old and baby of the family. Em loves Disney as much as I do and she tells me she will always be my Disney travel partner! Her first love is the Monorail and must have monorail toys and ride the monorail as much as possible!

http://i1107.photobucket.com/albums/h387/MickeyTinkMom/2011%20TR%20day%201/8.jpg

Now how this trip got started. Tracy and I met in the Disboards but although we lived 45 minutes away from each other we had never met before. We went to Disney in 2010 a week apart because she wouldn’t move her trip to the same time as mine :confused3

I started planning my 2011 trip and she was following along on my PTR
One day I got a Facebook message that she had talked George into letting her go with the 2 kids at the same time as me!!!!

I was very excited to have another adult along on the trip and some kids to keep my kids company as well.

So we started planning our joint trip and you can read all about it in the PTR if you want (link in my signature)

The dates for our trip were September 23 – October 3
We stayed at Pop Century and requested joint rooms, building 3 and lake side and We flew Southwest out of Buffalo

I hope we have lots of readers to follow us along on our adventures!!!!

Hello and welcome to our Spookacular Trip Report! Glad to have you along!

One day, the DH and I were chit chatting and I jokingly (well half jokingly anyway) told him that I would love to join my friend Natalie and her girls on their trip to Disney in September. I’d just come back from a solo trip to Disney with the Spectrum Mom’s in January and a family Christmas trip in November. Much to my utter shock, he replied that I should go. I think it took me about 7.2 seconds to grab my phone and text Natalie that George was OK with us going and the planning began!

Here are my Cast of Characters:

http://i1107.photobucket.com/albums/h387/MickeyTinkMom/2011%20TR%20day%201/2011_09240197.jpg

Ariana – DD15

Ariana adores anything and everything to do with Disney, especially the Princesses. Her favorite park is Magic Kingdom and her favorite character is Snow White. Ariana was diagnosed with autism at the age of three and struggles with communication, attentiveness and sitting still. She tends to wander and has little sense of the danger of being away from her family - if she sees something she wants, she just goes for it. She had her 15th birthday on the trip!

http://i1107.photobucket.com/albums/h387/MickeyTinkMom/2011%20TR%20day%201/2011_10020005.jpg

Demetri – DS6

Demetri loves our Disney trips and is always asking how soon until the next one. His favorite park is Magic Kingdom and his favorite character is Lightning McQueen. Demetri has an abundance of energy that he struggles to contain and wants to know the reason for how everything works which makes him ask a zillion questions all day long! He was thrilled to be tall enough this year for the one ride he’s been dying to go on – Aerosmith’s Rock ‘n Roller Coaster.

http://i1107.photobucket.com/albums/h387/MickeyTinkMom/2011%20TR%20day%201/WDW110.jpg

Me (Tracy)

(Yes this is a picture from a previous trip. As the chief picture-taker in my family there are very few pictures of me and even less that I like!) This was my first family trip leaving DH and my eldest (Alex – DS16) behind. My favorite park makes it a clean sweep for Magic Kingdom and my favorite character is Johnny Depp, er … Jack Sparrow. I didn’t anticipate how challenging it would be to keep watch over both Ariana and Demetri but I was really looking forward to this Halloween trip that would be a do-over of sorts. Our 2007 Halloween trip was wonderful but it was pre-DIS and we lost most of the photos and video we took.

We had ambitious wish lists to conquer but 11 days to do it in…. did we find that balance of accomplishments versus relaxation? Hope you continue to read along to find out!

I thought we were in agreement on "Two Crazy Canadians Halloween Spooktacular" as the title of the Trip Report! By in agreement I mean, I mentioned it and naturally assumed you would think it was the best title ever and would be using it.

we used part of it, I thought it was a compromise

Also there were more than 2 crazy Canadians on this trip so your title wouldn't have worked ;)

You are correct, now that I think of it I proposed 2 crazy Canadian chicks halloween spooktacular. But it was more than just you two. Not sure how to fit families into my title, so I guess I will accept your compromise.

Hey everyone thanks for joining in!!!! We are hoping to get the travel day posted tonight or tomorrow so we can get rolling

I called Southwest today about my travel voucher and apparently they can not extend the dates for me so I have $300 in vouchers I need to use before Oct 3 2012 and since I was not planning on taking the kids till after that I either have to use it or lose it.

This got me thinking that I would love to go for my birthday but now I have to try to talk one of my friends into going with me cause I really don`t want to go alone

Wish me luck

Isn't that hysterical? We didn't buy the hat but sure had a lot of fun trying it on. :rotfl: It's from one of the Main Street MK shops.

Day 1 (Sept 23)

Travel Day

I woke up bright and early this morning and was so excited to be off to my happy place! I set my alarm for 6am and got up and had my shower. I went to Timmies to get coffee for me and my brother since he was driving us to Tracy’s.

I couldn’t believe my kids were still sleeping at 7am so I woke them up. If I was excited, they were going to be excited too!

After the girls got up, got dressed and had breakfast I took a last look around to make sure I had everything. I went to Timmies to get coffee for me and my brother since he was driving us to Tracy’s.

I packed all the bags in the car and we left just after 8am.

I got to Tracy’s house around 9am and got all my bags out of the car and got them in the van. It was at this point I realized I forgot the stroller. Oh well I will figure it out later.

The night before our trip, I was doing last minute packing. The kids were showered up and in bed and Alex was helping me by printing off our boarding passes and some do it yourself window clings. I’d found on the DIS a couple of cute Halloween themed Mickey heads that I put the kids names on, a fabulous 999 Happy Haunts with the hitchhiking ghosts and even found a Red Queen one I put Natalie’s name on to surprise her.

http://i1107.photobucket.com/albums/h387/MickeyTinkMom/2011%20TR%20day%201/999_Happy_Haunts.png http://i1107.photobucket.com/albums/h387/MickeyTinkMom/2011%20TR%20day%201/HitchhikingHalloween1ARIANA.jpg http://i1107.photobucket.com/albums/h387/MickeyTinkMom/2011%20TR%20day%201/HalloweenpumpkinghostmhDEMETRI.png http://i1107.photobucket.com/albums/h387/MickeyTinkMom/2011%20TR%20day%201/MNSSHPNAT.jpg

I happily made it through the last of the items on my to-do list and it was only just approaching 10pm! With only my carry on bag left to finish up, I started to stack up the window clings and immediately realized that while Alex had carefully checked the first one he printed, he hadn’t on the others and they’d printed on the wrong side. When I stacked them, the ink all ran together and the whole lot was ruined. My fault for leaving it to the last minute, I had no other sheets to reprint them. Mental note for next trip: don’t leave anything to do on the night before. :headache:

We had two suitcases that were now at the front door and three carry ons. On our last two trips, Ariana had become stressed when she didn’t immediately get her Tink suitcase upon arrival. She’d get so preoccupied that she’d constantly ask for it and it made for a somewhat less than enjoyable arrival, so this trip I planned to use it as her carry on so she’d always have it with her.

Demetri had one too and in them they had bathing suits and towels to go swimming right away, jammies in case our luggage arrived late and the airplane activity books I’d made for them. It proved to be a little much through airport security and Demetri needed reminders to keep it with him and wheel it properly. Mental note for next trip: don’t give each kid a carry on – one will do.

For once, my sleep was not bad at all and I woke up in the morning bright eyed and bushy tailed. :hyper: The kids only needed telling once that it was time to get up and with the last of the items packed away, we said our goodbyes to Alex as he was off to school. Wah!

Natalie and the girls arrived and my hubby loaded up the van with all our stuff. We were so organized and on the ball that we were ahead of schedule and decided to hit the road. A last goodbye to my hubby and we were off! First stop --- Tim Hortons! Gotta have that last Canadian coffee staple before going without it for the next 11 days!

We got to the border around 11am and the lines were a little backed up. I remember all of us rocking out to Adam Lambert’s “If I Had You” while we slowly creeped up to the booths and searched for the shortest lines to get there.

I was very surprised neither of us was asked for travel letters or custody papers with taking the kids across, but they could probably see when they scanned our passports the multiple trips to Florida. :lmao:

After that William (the name I gave my GPS) led us nicely to the airport and we found a spot in the Long Term B lot.

http://i1107.photobucket.com/albums/h387/MickeyTinkMom/2011%20TR%20day%201/2011_09230001.jpg

Right away there was a shuttle there and the kids were in a big rush to get on it so we had to hurry and get the bags out and on the shuttle. Maybe they were starting to get excited!

As convenient as it was to have the shuttle right there waiting for us - though I’d done a quick scan of the van to make sure we had everything, it was too quick and I ended up leaving my glasses behind. Doh!

We got to the terminal and we both already had our boarding passes so all we had to do was check our bags. Going through security was fairly easy for me and the girls. They are in charge of their shoes and jackets and I have the rest.

It wasn’t too bad for us at security either. Demetri was chitchatting with the guard who was going over our passports and I remember looking over my shoulder at Natalie and the girls in the other line who’d already gone thru. Nice to get a chatty guard as opposed to a sourpuss but let’s go already shall we?!

After security I was on a mission. I love the breakfast sandwich at Which Wich and I was praying that even though it was after noon I would still be able to get it, well I DID and it was so good!!! Now I know I can order it any time of the day so I won’t worry about flight times.

After we’d eaten our lunches, the kids were anxious to head over to the gate while I was quite content sitting at the table for a bit longer. To quiet and calm all of them I brought up the timer on my phone and said whoever can stay absolutely silent for a full 5 minutes will get a prize. Lo and behold, they all won! I couldn’t actually do anything with my phone in those 5 minutes though because they wanted to watch the timer go down – oh well it was quiet anyway!

Our gate was right across from Which Wich and the kids wasted no time getting to the play area.

It wasn’t too long before our plane arrived.

http://i1107.photobucket.com/albums/h387/MickeyTinkMom/2011%20TR%20day%201/DSCF1560.jpg

We boarded the plane and were in rows beside each other. Demetri wanted to sit with Emma and me so Eryka sat with Tracy and Ariana.

For those of you that remember from our PTR, I’ve gotten air sickness on the last few trips I’ve taken. For this trip I’d found non drowsy chewable Ginger Gravol lozenges. Though they’re not the best tasting, I’m happy to report they worked beautifully and I had no nausea at all!

The flight was pretty uneventful and I was very excited when we landed in Orlando. I always look out the window for Disney World but I can never find it

I got off the plane and Tracy had to wait for her stroller so I got a good pic of them coming into the airport.

http://i1107.photobucket.com/albums/h387/MickeyTinkMom/2011%20TR%20day%201/DSCF1573.jpg

Where were the balloons and streamers and confetti? Didn’t they know we had ARRIVED?!

We made our way over to the mini monorail and to the next terminal.

Notice the Lady stuffy that Demetri has? Take a good look; she won’t put in any more appearances for the rest of the trip.

We found our way down to the Magical Express and I couldn’t believe the area was empty.

http://i1107.photobucket.com/albums/h387/MickeyTinkMom/2011%20TR%20day%201/DSCF1584.jpg

We hopped on a bus at 5:35pm. The bus was almost empty and we waited for a few more people before we left. The bus left the airport at 5:55 and we pulled into Pop at 6:30pm.

I tried to get the WDW arch pic but it was raining and I was a few rows back so there was no hope. One day I will sit up front and get it.

We arrived at Pop and headed in and the kids went off to play in the TV room. There was no one in either line to check in but we’d checked in online so we headed there.

http://i1107.photobucket.com/albums/h387/MickeyTinkMom/2011%20TR%20day%201/2011_09230021.jpg

We checked in together since we had linked our reservations and were hoping for joining rooms. Well we lucked out because we were given joining rooms (requested) in building 3 (requested) on the lake side (requested). I got room 3320 and Tracy got room 3321. They gave us our room keys and packages and birthday buttons and we were done.

Great line mojo we had going so far. Ariana’s birthday button was cute with the mickey head dotting the “I” but it proved to be a difficult thing for most people to read and I changed it as the week went on.

I tried to get a pic of Emma’s birthday button but for some reason I couldn’t get a good one so I figured it was the lighting and I would get one later.

http://i1107.photobucket.com/albums/h387/MickeyTinkMom/2011%20TR%20day%201/2011_09230025.jpg

Now the plan for this day was to eat and swim, but since it was raining we had to change our plans so we started with going to the room and taking some pics before going to eat. We got to the room and I started taking pics but they weren’t turning out very good.

http://i1107.photobucket.com/albums/h387/MickeyTinkMom/2011%20TR%20day%201/DSCF1610.jpg

http://i1107.photobucket.com/albums/h387/MickeyTinkMom/2011%20TR%20day%201/DSCF1604.jpg

Then I figured it out, my flash was broken and wouldn’t stay up so the flash wouldn’t flash. Great now how was I going to fix this. I looked around and saw the Kleenex box (light bulb) I folded up a tissue and stuck it underneath the flash so it would stay up and it worked!!! It might look silly but it works and that’s all that matters!

http://i1107.photobucket.com/albums/h387/MickeyTinkMom/2011%20TR%20day%201/2011_09230026.jpg

Entering my room, the kids were going bonkers running around everywhere and I snapped one or two pictures off before casually asking Demetri where Lady was.

http://i1107.photobucket.com/albums/h387/MickeyTinkMom/2011%20TR%20day%201/2011_09230028.jpg

After our Lady and the Tramp movie night, Demetri had grown very fond of our Lady stuffy, even making a bed for her out of a cardboard box to keep in his room. Well after a moment or two of wide eyed wonder on his face, he realized he didn’t have her anymore and she’d been left on the Magical Express bus. The next twenty minutes was spent calling the front desk and being transferred many, many times before creating a claim to try and recover Lady from the ME bus. (Sadly, she wasn’t turned in and didn’t come home with us. I think for Christmas I will buy him a new Lady stuffy and wrap her in a hat box with a bow under the tree.)

After all that we made our way to Everything Pop for some dinner. I had been waiting all day to try the Mom’s night out meatloaf and I have to say it was ok but I was not in a rush to try it again.

I didn’t know what I was going to have until I was standing in the food court. In the end I chose the nachos and cheese which was pretty boring. Demetri ended up eating some of Natalie’s green beans after his chicken nugget kids meal.

After we ate we headed back to the room and hoped our luggage had arrived so we could unpack, unfortunately it hadn’t. Shortly after we got there though, there was a knock on the door and we each got one of our suitcases so we started unpacking. Shortly after that there was another knock and the rest of our luggage had arrived.
We unpacked all our stuff and decorated our windows.

http://i1107.photobucket.com/albums/h387/MickeyTinkMom/2011%20TR%20day%201/DSCF1623.jpg

http://i1107.photobucket.com/albums/h387/MickeyTinkMom/2011%20TR%20day%201/2011_09230037.jpg

Natalie was sweet to share her window decorations with me. I just realized that I left it all there!

Then at 10pm I decided it was time for bed so we could get started bright and early in the morning.

Both of my kids are thrashers in their sleep and I hadn’t been looking forward at all to sharing a bed with either of them. I’d brought an air mattress with the intention of having Demetri use it so we all had our own space, but realized I hadn’t packed enough D-size batteries for the pump. I think it was Natalie’s suggestion to use the comforters off of both beds, folded on the floor, and with extra pillows and blankets we created a third bed. It worked out perfectly and with that, after posting our picture itinerary on the wall, it was off to Neverland for us too. We had a rope drop to get rested up for!

Yay, you've arrived!

Every Canadian TR I read, I hear about Tim Horton's. I swear, I feel like I'm missing out on something! I'm not complaining, I love Dunkin Donuts, but it's all so mysterious!

Poor Demetri losing Lady on ME....:sad1: I know what that feels like. I loved my plushies when I was a kid. I think the idea of buying a new one and packaging her like the movie would be awesome!

I love the decorations that you guys used. Awesome! I'm not that savvy.

Timmie's coffee is a MUST every morning for me. Mmmmm!

I think I'll have Tramp with a big bow on him sitting beside the hat box. :lovestruc Luckily Demetri was distracted enough throughout the week that it was only once in a while he missed Lady.

We also didn't get our Petals drink that first night while poolside, but we made up for it a bit later into the trip. ;)

Yay for arrival!! Glad the flight went well but sorry for the forgotten stroller and glasses. There's nothing quite like that feeling of arriving at the airport and having your whole vaca ahead of you. :cloud9:

Love your window decorations. :thumbsup2 That is one fun thing about values and mods, the outside window that you can decorate. Miss that now that we're DVC, it's just not the same on the balcony door.

Bummer about Lady, that's too bad it never turned up. Your idea to wrap it in hat box with the bow is too cute.

Great start to your TR :thumbsup2 Good to hear that except for forgetting a few items the travel day went smoothly, including getting all of you room requests met and having no lines!

Demetri is easily distracted... both a good thing and a bad thing. In this instance it was a good thing. If he was reminded of her, especially at bedtime, he was very sad she was gone. But start talking about something else and he'd be fine. :goodvibes

I don't remember there being any rain once we were decorating the windows, it must have stopped by then. Besides this first night, we had fantastic luck with rain showers!

Day 2

Sat Sept 24, 2011

Ready? Set? Splash!!

I woke up very early this morning! According to Facebook I was watching Stacy TV at 6:45am :) but I had already had my shower and got dressed by then ( I think I was a little excited)

I decided the girls needed to get up at 7:15am and I was really happy when I heard Tracy’s phone ring at 7:30am for her wakeup call!

Same wake up call, Stitch yelling at us to “GET MOVING!” I’d loaded up the park bag the night before and had (what I thought) was everything for the day.

We were at the bus stop and on a bus to MK at 8:30am. At this point I was a little worried that we weren’t going to make it there in time as our plan was to catch rope drop. Tracy had never seen a full rope drop before so I wanted to make sure she saw it.

Didn’t you remember my little bus schedule spreadsheet that said it was a 22 minute ride?? :rotfl2: It was a gloriously sunny day and we were anxious to see the show. My kids had never seen it and I’d only seen a condensed version of it when it was raining in January and I was there with the Spectrum Moms.

We got to MK at 8:45am and fast walked to the front. We went through bag check but stopped there to watch because the plan was not to head into MK after rope drop.

I’d created a picture itinerary for Ariana to prepare her that we were going into Magic Kingdom only to watch the opening show, then turning around and heading back out. Though I can usually predict what will upset her, sometimes you just never know. The itinerary said we’d be back after breakfast so the plan was, as long as she knew that we were coming back, she’d be OK with leaving.

I recorded the show for anyone that wants to watch it.

They only came around once with the Mickey Waffles this time which I was a little disappointed in because I love those, but the Ohana juice was plentiful which is good because Tracy and I drank the table’s share (and more):lmao:

http://i1107.photobucket.com/albums/h387/MickeyTinkMom/2011%20TR%20day%202/DSCF1011.jpg

We asked our server to just leave the Ohana juice on our table and he eventually obliged. Filling my glass first, I’d be done by the time he made it around the table to everyone else. ;)

Each of the characters made their appearance at the table. (...and it was at this point I realized I’d forgotten our autograph book in our room! :headache: )

When we’d arrived at the restaurant, they had made birthday cards for Emma and Ariana but they’d put a really wonky name down instead of Ariana. I can’t even remember it, it wasn’t even close. After the characters and just before the parade, they came back with a new card and cupcakes for the girls. We sang the birthday song and Ariana had her little secret smile on.

Then was the parade and I taped that too. Eryka, Ariana and Demetri are at the beginning and Emma is just before Mickey but she’s behind someone.

Now during breakfast I had told Emma that I was going to make her go on Splash Mountain. I know, I know I am a terrible mother but you have to know Emma. She is scared of everything and if I never make her do anything she would do nothing.

When we got to MK she was crying and I could see she was stressing herself out so I asked Tracy if she minded if we went to Splash first otherwise Em was going to be stressed all day. She was good with that so we headed to Splash.

http://i1107.photobucket.com/albums/h387/MickeyTinkMom/2011%20TR%20day%202/2011_09240069.jpg

Now let me tell you she cried the whole way through the line and a couple times I almost said OK we won`t go on and I was worried that when we got to the ride that the CM`s would see her crying and not let her on but we got to the front very fast and our boat was ready and we were off!

Brave little Emma :goodvibes. Splash is Demetri’s favourite ride so he was thrilled to head there first. I have a tradition of taking pics of the kids on the Splash boats and she was a little trooper with her nervous smile.

She stayed very stuck to my side and I had Tracy warn me when all the drops were so I could tell her. In between drops she would look around at what was going on and when a drop came she would bury her face in my chest and hold me. I was really starting to feel like a bad parent, and then the BIG drop came. I warned her and she stuck her face in my chest. As soon as we finished the drop I told her it was over and she could look again. She turned to me and said “that was a little fun”. All feelings I had about being a bad mother were instantly gone. See her hiding in the picture? :lmao:

Don’t forget you finally got your lei!

Wait a minute. I went to Hawaii once, and didn't get a Lei, apparently you need to pay for this now, it's like $50. I stayed at the Polynesian because I wanted to get a Lei, and they gave me a fake one with yellow flowers. I'm looking at your pictures, and the Lei you get at breakfast is multi-colored.
So I paid a rediculous amount of money (minus the 40% discount) to stay at the resort, and you guys go for breakfast and get a better one!!!

I think I need to write my congressman to let them know that Disney is giving Canadians special stuff we Americans aren't getting!! And not just any Canadians, Bad Mom Canadians that force their kids to ride scary rides.:scared1:

Looks like a great start to the day. The weather looks like it was absolutely amazing. Such a clear, sunny, blue sky day! :thumbsup2

Haven't done Ohana for breakfast in a few trips, might be time to add that back on the list. We like it it's just that there are so many places we like that we can't fit them all in every trip. :rotfl:

Bummer on the forgotten autograph book. You should have Julie or Amy, our resident queen's of list making, put together a park bag checklist for you. Hey, that's a good idea I might do that too as it's usually too early to be thinking of all that on our trips.

Glad Emma liked Splash well enough, that's not one of Daniel's favorites either. He doesn't like that his butt comes out of his seat on the big drop.

I'm hoping Lady is loved now too. I checked in a few times with lost & found and can't believe she wasn't turned in. They said another Lady was turned in but in a completely different situation, couldn't be mine. I'm half convinced that was our Lady.....

I saw more of the morning show through Natalie's video than when I was there. :rotfl: I'm usually watching my kids as they watch to see the enjoyment on their faces.

I'm here too! I'm reading when I can but life is a little crazy right now... Sounds like a fun start to the trip so far! I just love the Poly and 'Ohana breakfast! Last time I went there, my dad told Lilo that I had named my dog after her. Lilo then proceeded to stare at me then... lifted her hands up in front of her like paws, and hopped up and down and panted like a dog. It was so cute and funny!

Hey there! :welcome: I love the interaction with the characters, makes it so fun!

A Barrel of laughs

After Splash everyone wanted to go on BTMRR but I was not going to force Emma again since I know she does not like roller coasters, so Em and I got ice cream and waited for the others. She met another little girl that was scared to go on Splash and she did her best to try to convince her to go on but I don’t think it worked :confused3

We LOVE Big Thunder with all its twists and turns and arms way in the air fun. I can’t wait till after its refurb – I had no idea boulders were supposed to “fall” on you until I saw it was being fixed! We too grabbed Mickey bars and drinks afterwards – it was getting hot!

After they went on BTMRR we decided to hit Tom Sawyer Island since it is right there. I have been here before but Tracy hasn’t. We took the kids to the Fort for a few minutes and then braved the barrel bridge.

I’m glad we went to Tom Sawyer Island as it was new for us, but Demetri disappeared for a bit while in the Fort and between that and the heat, I was ready to head out. Oh and my camera display had decided to stop working (found out later that night it was just a button I’d pushed by accident ) so any picture I took was the old fashioned way through the viewfinder. I seriously cannot take good pictures that way so yep....:headache:! The barrel bridge was hilarious though and I thought at any time I was going to tip over into the water.

After the barrel bridge we ran into a photopass photographer on the Island and she took a nice group shot of us with the Mansion in the background.

Demetri was not happy that he still can’t reach those stocks. Another objective for him... ;)

Then we headed to Haunted Mansion which is also a new ride for Emma. I let her bring her flashlight with us but told her she had to keep it pointed down in the Doom Buggy.

I loved the new queue! I’d avoided reading anything about it so as to be surprised by it all. It was a lot of fun to walk through and it didn’t take very long at all – 15 minutes from the start to the stretching room. Just missing Madame Leota’s deadly stare, it was our turn in to head in. I really wish they’d address the squeeze fest that is walking out of the stretching room to the line for the Doom Buggies. It’s crazy!
Loved the improvements at the end of the ride too and we were laughing at the unexpected guests that tagged along!

After exiting the ride Emma saw this grave.

http://i1107.photobucket.com/albums/h387/MickeyTinkMom/2011%20TR%20day%202/DSCF1087.jpg

It was almost time for the parade so we found a spot to sit.

I’d been keeping an eye on the time because we were to have a DIS meet soon with Stefy. She was on her Disneymoon and though her hubby was scheduled to be off at Epcot with one half of a couple they were meeting up with for the day, Stefy was to text me when she arrived around parade time so we could say hello. At home I’d got them a little congratulations gift – they love Stitch so I thought they’d find this cute......

.... course it didn’t help that I’d forgotten it back in our room! :headache:

Then we watched the parade. I hadn’t seen it in years and it had changed since I saw it so I was excited to see it again.

We headed over to AdventureLand to find a spitting Camel! This was the first time I have seen the camel spit. Do they turn it off in December???

I think it was still on for our trip in November....

When we approached the ride I pushed Demetri ahead in the stroller to the spot where all the spit was on the ground  and stepped away from him saying, “watch out for the camel – it spits!” Did the water then not go OVER him and hit me! :rotfl: Someone must be watching!

Took a spin on Aladdin’s Magic Carpets.

http://i1107.photobucket.com/albums/h387/MickeyTinkMom/2011%20TR%20day%202/DSCF1138.jpg

Notice she was leading… just like her mommy :)

Demetri was fascinated by this spider that I didn’t believe moved, till I saw it

I don’t care how corny the jokes are, I actually laugh out loud at all of them (maybe I am corny :))

I always laugh at the “back side” of water! Oh and the one where he says if you’ve enjoyed the cruise his name is Greg but if you didn’t, his name is Sabrina :rotfl2:

http://i1107.photobucket.com/albums/h387/MickeyTinkMom/2011%20TR%20day%202/2011_09240144.jpg

Yes he’s your husband (for now anyway ;) ) but he’s MY boyfriend! Once in a blue moon this ride gets crowded and we asked to use the alternate entrance with Ariana’s GAC. I’ve never used it before and was surprised to see the route we had to take to get there. Backstage!

http://i1107.photobucket.com/albums/h387/MickeyTinkMom/2011%20TR%20day%202/318777_10150824271585099_853130098_20475523_178017 5158_n.jpg

POTC is another ride I had to force Emma to ride but now she doesn’t even question it and just goes on. She still says she doesn’t like it though :confused3

http://i1107.photobucket.com/albums/h387/MickeyTinkMom/2011%20TR%20day%202/2011_09240146.jpg

After spotting my hubby (my man!) many times on the ride we decided we needed more fantasy in our lives (ya right) and decided to head to FantasyLand after stopping for a bite to eat at Peco Bills, (otherwise known in my family as the “Pickle Barrel” – George could never remember the name so he gave it his own name :lmao: ). After having my first taco salad (yum!) we were washing up when Demetri remarked to a CM that he really liked his badge. Instantly the CM asked him if he’d like to have it and Demetri was thrilled to say yes and have it pinned on him. Sheriff Demetri!

It was around this point of the day too that I admitted to myself the DIS meet with Stefy had fallen through. :sad1: Her text hadn’t come through and when I’d tried to send one to her, it bounced back to me right away. I still wanted to get their gift to them though so I made a mental note to have the present shipped to her at the Poly. Little did I know......

Up next.... Who loves a parade?

Joining in! Reading this is making me so happy and sad at the same time. Happy because it looks like you guys are having so much fun and sad because I still have seven months to go!

Reading about getting Emma to go on Splash made me laugh. A year or so ago my family went down with my Aunt, Uncle, and their three girls. I guess they had tried to go on Haunted Mansion earlier and all three of the girls freaked in the stretching room and they had to leave. So later when we met up with them we said we were going on Haunted Mansion and my Aunt and Uncle wanted to try it (it was their whole families' first trip). Their middle girl Emma (5 or 6 at the time I think) decided she wanted to brave it as long as my sister and I kept her safe. Of course we promised we would warn her about scary things and we wouldn't let anything get her. She stood in the stretching room with her eyes shut as tight as possible and with her hands holding onto my sister's hands on her ears. The entire ride she kept her hands over her eyes but she kept peeking through her fingers and her heart was thumping so hard I could feel it. After we got off I asked her if she liked it and she said, "Yeah! I think so. I didn't see most of it but I liked it." She also saw the "I. Emma Spook". We have a few pictures of her with it. Can't wait to read about the rest of your trip. :goodvibes

So I thought I would let you all know that I booked our next trip today

I know Disney will never send me a PIN cause I never get more than 3 weeks out before I am booking again :confused3

So Eryka, Emma and I will b going Aug 27th to Sept 3rd. Emma's birthday is Sept 2nd so that will be fun!

Canadians have free dining available till Sept 29 2012 so I jumped and booked it

We are staying at the Contemporary again and doing park hoppers for the 1st time in years!

We are very excited! I am not sure if I will be doing a PTR or a TR for this trip. I decided I am going to see this trip through my eyes not my camera so other than typical posed pics and scenery pics there will be no pics of rides, shows, parades or fireworks :scared1:

I love the Mk parades. My family likes the afternoon swim so I always miss that one. Love your pictures!

Alright, you got me curious. Did you get upgraded to the Poly mid stay?

Sounds like a great day! Yay on going over to Tom Sawyer Island - I love the PP pics.

We also loved the Haunted Mansion queue and lol at fighting over Jack Sparrow - am sure you ladies are not the only ones! :rolleyes1

We were surprised to see the pp photographer on the island, I have never seen one there before

All caught up and loving every second :)

Love the opening show at MK, always puts a smile on your face.

Breakfast with Stitch and friends looked like fun and how good is that pineapple bread! :teeth:

Bless Emma, she was a trooper on SM and wonderful that she loves it now. Such a fun ride and the song is too cute :)

Guys I am so sorry our meet fell through. I felt so bad, my phone was being a nuisance throughout the whole trip, dying in the space of 1hr if I left the network connected (no idea why, but it got super hot all the time). Being the dumma that I was I had forgotten to key in Tracy's number and had no way of getting it off of Facebook. I did try to look out for you guys when we got to MK, but no luck.

Tracy thank you so much for your awesome gift, it is so awesome and so thoughtful of you guys

Next time we are at Disney and our trips crossover we are meeting up for sure :teeth:

Looks like you had a great afternoon. I haven't been to Tom Sawyers Island in over 10 years. I really do need to get Claire over there to experience it.

Yay for another trip!!!!!! :dance3:

Demetri was having a blast on TSI, Ariana and I not so much besides the barrel bridge. We'll have to go again when I have a second set of eyes to keep track of both kiddos at the same time. Natalie walked thru the cave with him since I was afraid I'd lose Ariana.

I’m just a little black rain cloud…..

We thought we might be able to finish the FantasyLand rides before MSEP but I was doubtful. First was Peter Pan’s Flight - I never get any good pics on this ride.

I was in a ship by myself and snuck in a quick flash picture, one of Ariana’s favourite scenes. (shhhh!)

http://i1107.photobucket.com/albums/h387/MickeyTinkMom/2011%20TR%20day%202/2011_09240155.jpg

Next was It’s a Small World… now this is the first time I have gone on this ride since I read Kingdom Keepers and let me tell you I was more than a little freaked out on this ride. I will never see this ride the same again :scared1:

I have so many pictures of this ride that I wasn’t taking very many this time around. Ariana would have none of that and started to point out the pictures she wanted me to take. No problem! Some were a little off because she’d wait until the last second to tell me but here’s a few of what she picked.

The clock says 6:15 and we still had to get mine and Tracy’s ears for our MNSSHP costumes and get a spot for the parade….. I am getting nervous. I said to Tracy there is no way we are going to get hats and a spot if we do anymore rides so we decide to leave the rest of FantasyLand for our next MK day and we head down a very crowded Main St to the Chapeau Shop.

I ordered my hats (one for me and one for my Goddaughter Claire) and then I told Tracy I was going to make my way outside to look for a parade watching spot.

It was pretty crowded already but I got a spot in the hub right outside the confectionary. It was an ok spot to watch.

I ordered ears for myself and we picked out new ones for the kids, and then joined Natalie outside to wait. I really liked our spot and I loved the few pictures I got of the parade heading up Main Street towards the Castle.

Before the parade started I snapped a couple pics of the decorations. Was there any doubt that I did too?

Just after going back to get our now finished ears, the Main St Electrical Parade stated. I personally love this parade. I know there are lots of people who love Spectro more and I don’t really have an opinion on which one I like more I just try to enjoy the one that is available at the time.

I confess I do prefer Spectro Magic but I do love this parade too. I can’t help but dance along and it makes for great pictures if you can get them. This was the point of the day that I finally figured out which button to push to get my camera display working again and I LOVE the pictures with the Castle in the background. :cloud9:

After it was over the sky looked really bad and we were seeing lightning and hearing thunder so we decided it was not really worth sticking around for Wishes and getting stuck in a storm so we high tailed it out of there and to the bus stop.

It sucked not staying for Wishes, but we had other chances to see it later in the week and leaving early meant not only missing a potential downpour, it meant beating the crowds too. Ariana however, was not happy at all with this decision and let us know pretty much the entire bus ride back to Pop that she thought so. A shot taken earlier in the day but fitting at this point....

http://i1107.photobucket.com/albums/h387/MickeyTinkMom/2011%20TR%20day%202/2011_09240064.jpg

We made it back to Pop before the storm and the sky seemed to be easing up a little. The kids really wanted to swim (me too :) me three!) so we gave in and went for a swim.

Great installments!!! I haven't read the Kingdom Keepers... yet. It is on my list of things to do.

I love the picture of Demetri with his arm around Emma, how freaking cute is that??? Watch out they look like they are on a date .

Great spot for MSEP, I love the pictures with the castle in the background. I would have left too if it looked like it was going to pour rain.

I say Tracy made it the next morning, I believe in her :goodvibes. She has a great name :rotfl:.

Hahaha, no one looks at It's a Small World the same way after Kingdom Keepers! I don't think I even look at the entire park the same way either.

P.S. Wayne lives in the Fire House.

Great MSEP pictures! Sorry that you didn't get to stay for Wishes. But swimming is always a good thing too.

Oh my, how excited I am that you are a Kingdom Keepers fan!!! I love those books. I just found them this summer and have read all of them. I cringe when I see or hear Maleficient now! I read about Cherubim and Expedition Everest after we were at AK this summer but I know that ride will freak me out more than ever now!!!

Great pictures. I love MSEP. It is such a happy parade!

Tracy-Thats too funny you got spit on by the camel instead of Demetri and that was very cool of the cm to give him his badge!

I can't wait to see the new things at Haunted Mansion. I hope they get everything working on BTMR I don't think I've ever rode it when everything was working like it should.

Ok everyone is making me want to go out and get Kingdom Keepers. Is it scarey?

I love kingdom keepers, even though a couple places in the park were creepy because of it, it was kinda nice too to look at those areas and see something new and different

The decorations were gorgeous!!!

and this is why I didn't start a PTR... change number one for my vacation

I am now going Sept 29 - Oct 7 Staying at Port Orleans Riverside with Deluxe Dining.

I didn't really like the idea of going in August cause I will melt and we have friends going in Oct so it would be nice to spend a little time with them. I have always wanted to do deluxe dining and since I am not staying at a deluxe resort why not

Day 3: Sunday September 25th

Park: Animal Kingdom

Reservations: Tusker House Breakfast

It’s a very good thing I took notes on the trip because they really help jog my memory for certain things.

I was up at 7am and quickly showered and woke up the girls. We stopped for drinks at Everything Pop and headed to the bus. We had an early breakfast at Tusker House!

Temps were already hot at 8:30am and we were heading to Animal Kingdom. Yikes! I remember already very much looking forward to our swimming plans later that day. Demetri was once again making good use of our misting fans and drinking his lemonade. Good thing because it took a while for an AK bus to pull up.

http://i1107.photobucket.com/albums/h387/MickeyTinkMom/2011%20TR%20day%203/2011_09250001.jpg

We got to Animal Kingdom and headed right for the restaurant (I didn’t even stop for a picture although I think Tracy did)

Yep! Literally while on the run :teeth:

http://i1107.photobucket.com/albums/h387/MickeyTinkMom/2011%20TR%20day%203/2011_09250002.jpg

We got to TH and were informed that they were running 25 minutes behind. Our reservation was for 9:15 and it was now 9:30.

http://i1107.photobucket.com/albums/h387/MickeyTinkMom/2011%20TR%20day%203/2011_09250003.jpg

Now this is something that really ticks me off and I am glad it doesn’t happen to me very often. I would love to know how many walk ups they seated that morning that put my reservation behind and why did I get up at 6am 6months ago to make this reservation if they seat walk ups??? The real problem is this is the 1st time I have eaten here so now I have a bad 1st impression and it takes a lot for me to get rid of it.

We waited (and waited!) a long time past our reservation time before being seated. This is the second time I’ve eaten at Tusker and the same thing happened to us the first time. That first time was offset though by great service and a chance to eat off of both the breakfast and lunch buffets in one sitting. :thumbsup2 Today though......

We did the pics outside with Donald Duck while we were waiting.

http://i1107.photobucket.com/albums/h387/MickeyTinkMom/2011%20TR%20day%203/DSCF1003.jpg

At 10:00 we were finally called to be seated. We were led to our seat, if you go in past the buffet, make a right, go all the way to the end of that room and make another right; there is a little room with 3 tables…. That’s where we sat :headache:

Alright whatever we will deal with it but then we had the worst waitress in the world :rolleyes1

Yeah it sure wasn’t the smartest setup. Those three tables in this little room were six seaters each and we were squeezed in there so tightly – a minor inconvenience if you are being served but not great when you’re going back and forth to a buffet. Factor in a waitress that barely came to the room and would then shout everything to all three tables at the same time..... :sad2:

Wasn’t there something weird about how your tea eventually was served to you....?

I know she brought the huge box of tea and left it in my spot so when I got back with my plate I had nowhere to put it. I believe I took a couple bags and moved the box out of the small room.

So how was the food? It was good, typical buffet food… nothing to write home about (except the juice).

I enjoyed everything I chose, but I admit I didn’t put a whole lot on my plate. I only went once.

http://i1107.photobucket.com/albums/h387/MickeyTinkMom/2011%20TR%20day%203/2011_09250010.jpg

The characters however were great as usual and that is the real reason we do these meals isn’t it?

It will likely be a while before we do Tusker House again. I’d rather do a counter service lunch and be a bit more constructive with the park time.

I agree, I won’t make it a priority next year

So sorry to hear the meal was not so great! My brother and I did the Nemo package a few weeks ago and they were also on a 30-45 min wait (and taking walk-ins). We were also in the same area I think. We sat at the last table in this little area that was next to the emergency door and I think there was a table of 6 next to us and it was a pretty cramped area! My bro and I both agreed that when they change to lunch they will have to reduce their number of walk-ins or it will be a nightmare!! I wasn't so wild about the food. I hear it's similar to Boma dinner which I've never had but don't really have a desire either.

Sorry to hear it took so long at Tusker House and that you had a bad table and a bad waitress. That really cuts into your park time. I always feel so rushed at that park because they close so early. We are usually at the parks until midnight or later but not AK. The pictures with the characters look great!

I can't wait to see what happens next.

That is horrible that your reservation was pushed back because they were seating walk ups. I have been reading that a lot more here lately. How annoying.

I would be in a very bad mood if a server was shouting everyone. That is unacceptable, especially at WDW. Not magical at all.

The pictures were great, although I think someone needs to teach Goofy how to kiss, it looks like he is trying to bite you not kiss you.

I guess cause it closes so early it forces you to relax in the evening (well it does that to me anyway)

I didn't see for sure that anyone was a walk up and had I, I would have said something for sure. I'm sorry that people get there and didn't know better to make their reservations but I did get up early 6 months before my trip so I wouldn't waste time waiting for a table :headache:

Tusker House ressies are kind of wierd in my opinion. We had an 8:10 ADR in December (prior to park opening), and there were people in front of me with later ADR's getting seated before me. I think we were finally at our table by 9:00, which is about when I figured we would be done eating. Kind of messed up the plans for the day, but not too bad. Annoyed the crap out of me though.

Sorry you guys didn't enjoy Tusker as much, esp when you were trying it for the first time. September was just crazy manic for crowds, we waited about 40mins for one of our reservations and we had a reservation. Was not impressed!

We heard that the reason why it was so crazy busy was because there was not only free dining, but also an offer that ran out that week where there was 40% off resorts and FD together :scared1:

Glen and I were disappointed in TH when we were there in May. They were running late for our reservation and then we were so tightly packed in it was hard to move around for the buffet. Our waitress sucked as well. It took 30 minutes just to get us drinks. :confused3

Next we decided we needed some character time and where else would you go at AK to see characters than Camp Minnie Mickey.

We started off with Minnie in her safari gear since she was not at Tusker.

http://i1107.photobucket.com/albums/h387/MickeyTinkMom/2011%20TR%20day%203/DSCF1098.jpg

Then we spotted Miss Bunny...

http://i1107.photobucket.com/albums/h387/MickeyTinkMom/2011%20TR%20day%203/2011_09250059.jpg

Ariana wanted to give Miss Bunny some flowers she’d picked nearby :rolleyes1 and I wondered if she was going to be chastised for it, but Miss Bunny was happy to receive her gift. See her little blue bouquet?

Next we decided since it was 111 degrees and we were in the hottest park that we should really try to cool off. Where else would you go in AK to cool off than Kali River Rapids? Now here we go again, Emma has never been on this ride and I told her don’t worry it’s an easy boat ride :rotfl2: so now of course I was worried that she was gonna hate it and be pissed at me again.

Can you say ‘pissed’ in a Disney trip report? :rotfl:

On the way to KRR we ran into DeVine! This was the first time I had seen her and it was really cool to watch her move. Again I had Kingdom Keepers flashbacks while watching her :lmao:

She LOVED it!!!!! In fact the 1st words out of her mouth were “can we do that again” well it’s hot and we can’t turn that down so we rode again and she loved it even more the second time!!! Great another ride for Emma!!!!

This time I didn’t tuck my camera into the centre thingie in the raft. I love ride photos so I grabbed a few in between soakings.

When they all came off the ride I went back on with the kids while Tracy sat with Emma (Thanks Tracy!) I am afraid of heights but I love this ride and love that I can see ToT from the top!

We wanted to make sure we saw the Festival of the Lion King this trip so we started heading in that direction.

First stopping to fill up our refillable mugs, I got a kick out of this sign above the water fountain.

We came across the photopass photographer with Everest in the background so we stopped for some pics.

Then we stopped to watch the monkeys that wanted to show us their better side.

We’d lured them out of hiding by yelling that we had some bananas we wanted to share. :rolleyes1

Again I was having Kingdom Keeper flashbacks and I was worried those monkeys were working for evil and going to steal one of the kids so I didn’t want to stick around. :scared1:

Next we stopped at this cool looking bench to take some pictures.

Finally we were off to the Festival of the Lion King and we made it just before the show. We got great seats in the Lion section (the only section I have ever sat in).

I love this show so much and w skipped it last year to see Nemo instead and we won’t ever do that again. I do however take horrible pictures during this show :)

My pictures too were fairly crappy. My phone pictures seemed to be turning out better. I was once again really, really hoping one of our kids would be chosen for the parade part at the end but alas... not this time. Maybe next time!

Next stop on our list was The Tree of Life. Tracy knew the secret paths right up to the tree that I had never been on so I let her lead and we were off to find the tree. Now if you are a Tree of Life lover and have never been so close you can touch it (literally) then you need to find the path and get up close and personal with the tree.

Love, love, LOVED this part of our day. :goodvibes

Many, many pics coming at you!

When we were on the Safari I saw a girl wearing the cutest little stripped hat but I wasn’t brave enough to ask her where she got it. After the tree Emma wanted to go looking in the store because she wanted a baby Nala. Well unfortunately they were all sold out of baby Nalas so she went for the bigger Nala. While we were looking around I saw the hats!!!! The cute stripped one the girl was wearing was Cheshire Cat and they had Tink and The Mad Hatter! I love the Mad Hatter so I had to have it! I also got the watch that was the purchase offer.

http://i1107.photobucket.com/albums/h387/MickeyTinkMom/2011%20TR%20day%203/2011_09250146.jpg

Natalie was sooooo excited to find this hat. Her smile was the brightest thing in the room :teeth:!

After we were done shopping we decided to get out of the park before we got trapped by the parade, but who can pass up the opportunity to hold baby Simba.

On the way out Ariana saw a picture opportunity she couldn’t pass up.

http://i1107.photobucket.com/albums/h387/MickeyTinkMom/2011%20TR%20day%203/2011_09250147.jpg

How awesome is that!? Ariana was thrilled to see this little section for the Lion King. I loved taking this picture... I knew it would become one of her favourites!

And we were off on a bus back to Pop.

Demetri took a shining to Emma’s Nala and the two of them had fun hamming it up on the ride back.

We stopped in Everything Pop for some dinner. I had the Chicken Penne which I love and both the girls had pizza.

I can’t remember what we had! :confused3 But I do remember I headed over to Concierge to pick up my tickets for our MNSSHP parties. The line was pretty short so as the food court staff were doing the Hustle :lmao: the kids were teaching themselves....

http://i1107.photobucket.com/albums/h387/MickeyTinkMom/2011%20TR%20day%203/2011_09250154.jpg

.... and I was enjoying the yummy goodness that a CM was handing out to those waiting in line. Yum!

http://i1107.photobucket.com/albums/h387/MickeyTinkMom/2011%20TR%20day%203/2011_09250158.jpg

After dinner it was time for more swimming (we said we were gonna make time to relax and swim this trip and we are living up to it!) Off to the Hippy Dippy Pool this time and a drink for mommy. The kids entered some freeze dance competitions and made their way around the pool.

Of all our stays at Pop, we’d never heard of pool fun and events. It was so much fun to watch the freeze dance competition. Ariana was enjoying a leisure swim around the somewhat emptier pool and Demetri was in his element with the dancing. He fancies himself a bit of a break dancer so he was having a blast busting a move between freezes.

Unfortunately right after this pic, he flipped right over and landed on his back. A bit hurting and a lot embarrassed, he sat the next few rounds out but quickly rejoined once he’d recovered.

The sun was setting on another gorgeous day and I was loving the swim time we were getting so far.

http://i1107.photobucket.com/albums/h387/MickeyTinkMom/2011%20TR%20day%203/2011_09250179.jpg

After 8pm we figured we were waterlogged and it was time to get out of the pool. We went back to our room and changed. The girls and I decided we wanted to head out to the movie which was Toy Story 3. We stopped at the food court and filled our mugs and settled into some chairs in front of the big screen. We only stuck around and watched for half an hour or so and then headed back to bed.

I opted out of the movie (another thing I had no idea they did!) because I knew my kids would want to stay until the end. I didn’t even tell Ariana it was going to be on but Demetri found out and was mighty disappointed we weren’t going. After seeing him earlier with Emma’s Nala, I’d already decided to buy one for him as his souvenir, so I made a deal with him that we’d get her as soon as we saw her next. He was a happy boy once again and it was a nice quiet and relaxing night in our room. :goodvibes

I am so glad to see that Emma like KRR. Maybe we can try and convince her to go on EE next year? Looks like it was a great rest of the day after the TH mishap! An no, no TH for next year. I would much rather spend my time sat Ohana or Chef Mickey's.

Sounds like a pretty nice AK day. We haven't done KRR for a while, not a big fan and have been able to convince kids to skip it and go back to the resort to swim. :thumbsup2

FOTLK is my FAVORITE show!! :lovestruc We too skipped it once for Nemo and won't make that mistake again either. ;)

DD10 is so depserate to have one of those little fasinators, not sure if she wants the Mad Hatter or Cheshire Cat. We saw them in the new Mickey Monitor that recently came in the mail. Hope they still have them in June. Are they attached with an elastic strap or little headband?

I like your relaxing evening of swimming and hanging out, DH insists we have some of those kind of nights he won't go commando anymore. :rolleyes1

This was the first time we did KRR and we loved it!!!

Its called a fasinator??? Thanks!!!! They are attached with an elastic but it didn't bother me. I'm not sure if it bothered Tracy.

It has little elastic hoops where I thing you could put a headband in if the elastic bothered you

I love relaxing evenings! It really feels like a vacation!

Thats so sweet Ariana gave Miss Bunny flowers. River always wants to bring cheese for Mickey. I tell him he is to busy meeting all the people to eat it.

We've never seen DeVine I would really like to find her.

Thats great Emma loved KRR! I've never done EE I'm to chicken. Does it have a big stomach drop?

It looks like you guys had so much fun at the pool. We were never there for the games and I don't think they were doing the movies yet when we were last there.

we headed straight for a 2 weeks safari (stupid poachers, my safari was cut short and I packed and everything).

The same thing happened to us, what are the chances of two separate two-week safaris getting cut short by poachers?:lmao:

Can you say ‘pissed’ in a Disney trip report?

It appears the answer is yes.:rotfl2:

On the way to KRR we ran into DeVine! This was the first time I had seen her and it was really cool to watch her move. Again I had Kingdom Keepers flashbacks while watching her

I completely forgot about DeVine on our trip. I was kicking myself once we got home for not having it listed on my "Things to do" list for the Animal Kingdom.

Tracy knew the secret paths right up to the tree that I had never been on so I let her lead and we were off to find the tree.

Are these "secret" trails any different than the Discovery Island Trails that are listed on the guide map (http://www.wdwinfo.com/maps/ak-n.jpg) in the Discovery Island section???:confused3

Hi Jessica!

It's too bad I've been reading more and more about the waiting problem at Tusker House because it really is a great breakfast place. Our experience this time around was compounded with the poor seating and crappy service but if that hadn't of happened we'd have forgiven them easily for the wait.

I love the laid back approach. I know the first couple times we went I wanted to do everything because I never knew if I would be back, but now that we have gone every year and always seem to have another trip booked I really think we can slow down at the parks and take it easy. If we don't get something done there is always next trip!

Day 4 – Monday September 26

Park - Disney Hollywood Studios

Reservations – 1900 Park fare

I actually set my alarm for 7:30 this morning although I did wake up a bit before that. After everyone was up and ready we headed over to Everything Pop for breakfast. Me and the kids had our regular assortment of pancakes and waffles.

Next was catching a bus to DHS.

We stopped to take some pics of Lightning and Mater.

The sun was particularly bright this morning and I had to give Demetri my sunglasses so we could take his picture without his face being completely screwed up.

http://i1107.photobucket.com/albums/h387/MickeyTinkMom/2011%20TR%20day%204/2011_09260002.jpg

Then we stopped for a couple photopass pics.

Now off to the 1st ride, everyone agreed it had to be Toy Story. It was at this point I realized my batteries were dead in my camera and I didn’t bring any extra. I am sure Tracy has some queue pics to share though.

Yep! I took one or two ;) The kids were pretending to be the local sheriffs in the area and were happy with that, but then they were in jail and not so thrilled :lmao: Then of course we had to have a kooky glasses pic.

As soon as we got off Emma asked if we could go again. Of course I said no maybe later after we do some other things but I was overruled by Tracy who said sure we can! What the heck lets go again.

Whoops, I didn’t know I had overruled you – sorry! But yeah, I wanted to go again!

That`s ok, it is vacation

Next we were off to the animations class. I did this last trip and loved it and was really looking forward to it. This year we drew Buzz and I must admit I did a way better job on Donald last year. I can’t even find the drawings to show you how bad they were :scared1:.

Finally I got to do this class!! I loved it and it will be a must do for me from now on. I took pics of mine while I was waiting with Emma later in the day outside Aerosmith.

One's man dream is really cool but you gotta take some time to go through. The movie was ready to start so we rushed through the last bit of it so I think next trip we won't worry about rushing to the movie and really take the time to see all the exhibits

I really wanted to make sure we saw Beauty and the Beast because me and the girls have never seen it and just missed it last trip so we headed there next.

On the way we stopped in a store that had some great looking treats so we could get snacks to enjoy during the show. Eryka got a Mickey rice crispie treat, Emma got a bag of grape cotton candy (she was trying grape for the 1st time and she hated it, we will stick to the pink and blue from now on) and I got a carrot cake cookie which was pretty good. We all got a dose of attitude from the not very nice lady behind the counter. I asked for Mickey ice cream (by mistake Eryka didn’t even want the ice cream I just got mixed up) and the lady bit my head off because they don’t have those. I told her I mean the crispie treat and she huffed off to get it. Her name tag was hidden so I couldn’t get her name but she was a mean old lady and she had no Disney spirit at all.

She was less than magical with us too unfortunately. I hadn’t even heard Natalie’s experience with her because we were separated a bit in line - I wanted to get Ariana a candy apple but I realized I hadn’t brought any cash with me, so after a gruff “NEXT!” I asked if the treats counted as snacks on the dining plan. Well evidently that was an annoying question because she was quite snarky with us. The CM at the cash register looked quite apologetic... imagine working with someone like that all day!

We finally made it to BaTB and had our snacks. Now it was my first time seeing this show and I loved it - I can’t wait to see it next trip!

I have sooooo many pics of this show, definitely a favourite. :goodvibes

Since we were in the area it was time for the kids to conquer some headliners. Of course Emma wanted no part of this.

Rock n Roller Coaster was THE ride that Demetri was looking forward to the most on this trip. Last year he’d grown tall enough for most rides... all except this one. Here he was in November 2010:

http://i1107.photobucket.com/albums/h387/MickeyTinkMom/2011%20TR%20day%204/2010_1129Misc0431.jpg

Now he was tall enough and he was absolutely thrilled to be trying this for his first time. Does he look excited to you??

http://i1107.photobucket.com/albums/h387/MickeyTinkMom/2011%20TR%20day%204/2011_09260089.jpg

When Tracy was done I went on with the kids. Now this ride was good and I would ride it again but if I didn’t get to ride it, it wouldn’t be a big deal. Eryka I know loved it!

http://i1107.photobucket.com/albums/h387/MickeyTinkMom/2011%20TR%20day%204/DSCF1139.jpg

As we were waiting, Emma and I were playing a little game of ‘spot the people in the Tower of Terror ride when the doors open’. Totally original game, we know no one else has thought of it.

http://i1107.photobucket.com/albums/h387/MickeyTinkMom/2011%20TR%20day%204/DSCF1142.jpg

Next we were off to conquer Tower of Terror. Tracy told me to go ahead and take them on and she will sit with Emma and Demetri cause it’s getting close to dinner time and she doesn’t want to ride it right before dinner. I have never been on it so I’m up for it. Now it was just me Eryka and Ariana and we got the front row. Ariana had a handle, Eryka had a handle and I was on the aisle and couldn’t find a handle :scared1:. This was unsettling for me since I am scared of heights. So the ride starts and we get to the part where I know we are gonna drop and shoot up and I have nothing to freakin hold on to :scared1: OMG I have never been so freaked out in my life, which is I guess the point of the ride. I did however think we would stay at the open door longer but it was only a second. I will ride it again but I am NOT sitting on the aisle again :sad2:

Whilst Natalie was getting totally freaked out, the kids and I had settled into a shady spot with some benches right beside a water fountain. It was in the spot where the ride lets out and since I’m usually bustling straight out, I was happy taking pictures of the details in the area.

Good for Demetri getting to ride RNRC. River loves this ride but I'm to chicken are there any stomach drops or does it just go fast? I think I can handle the fast but not the drops.

I have only been on TOT twice and have been terrified both times. I hate heights and stomach drops. River could do it over and over. I think I would have a heart attack if I didn't have a handle to hold on to!

Can't wait to hear more.

No stomach drops but it's loud and loopy  Don't wear any hair clippies, it'll get jammed into the back of your head! It's a pretty quick ride too - you should try it!

It was still too early to head to our dinner reservation so Tracy and the kids decided they wanted to check out Star Tours. Well Emma and I had no desire to ride it so we decided to head to Little Mermaid and meet them after. Well after waiting in line for 15 min we didn’t get into that show  and the next show would be too late so we got out of line and headed to the front of the park where we got a great spot at the end of the parade route so we decided to watch.

Demetri had been super looking forward to RnR and Star Tours was the ride that Ariana couldn’t wait to ride. It’d been down for refurb on our last trip and we were anxious to see the new and improved ride. The walk to the line was fun, lots of details to see and I loved the windows where you could watch the shadows of characters walking past.

I had to close my eyes less than halfway in because I was seriously going to toss my cookies. Totally should have taken a ginger Gravol before going on this ride. Next time! The kids though, loved it and they loved wandering in the gift shop afterwards

Tracy texted me and let me know they were done. Tracy had promised to get Demetri a Nala and I had promised to get Emma a new Slinky Dog but the store was across the park from where I was so Tracy offered to stop and grab the Slinky for me.

The parade had just gone through our area and they’d moved our stroller to a completely different spot. Luckily as soon as we made the crazy dash through the crowds, it thinned out quickly and we made it to the store. I was tempted to get my own Slinky, but I knew it would take only three minutes once out of the box for my kids to tangle him up so I passed. :rolleyes1

When they were done shopping they met us at the front of the park and we headed out to the bus stop. As soon as we got to the bus stop it started to rain. Other than the first night this was the first time we had to deal with rain and we were really hoping it would be quick and end before we finished dinner.

It was quite the downpour and I’m so glad we weren’t waiting too long.... not like the next time we were at DHS!!

I had he same problem with Star Tours. I thought it was maybe where I was seated..on the end seat. But I felt very queasy after it.

Hooray for Demetri getting to ride RnR :banana: Great picture, so fun.

That parade looks like fun too.

I know I'll have to try Star Tours once, but I have a feeling I may get that same feeling you had Tracy.

Can't wait to see if the rain goes away by the time you eat dinner, and anxious to see where you dined.popcorn::

Caught up again. :rolleyes1

Looks like a fun day at DHS. We missed the drawing class this time & Zachary was a bit disappointed when he realized. It's on the top of our list for next time. He really enjoys it.

Sorry Star Tours make you sick Tracy! Tim get motion sickness but he managed OK on Star Tours. We actually rode three different times & he rode with a us every time. I guess you never know...

Yay for Demitri making it on RnRC!! That was a really big deal when Zach was finally tall enough.

We caught a bus to the Grand Floridian where we were having dinner at 1900 Park Fare. I love the dinner here and prefer it to the breakfast (although I like the breakfast characters better) I really love the Strawberry soup. I didn’t think I would the first time I went there but I loved it when I tried it and now it’s the first thing I go for when I get there.

I know you love the Mad Hatter, but I love 1900 Park Fare for the sheer fun of it. The step sisters and Lady Tremaine are some of my favourites.

Tracy and I had a little fun with Lady Tremaine.

While we were posing I was telling Emma to get out of the way and Eryka to get the camera and take the picture and Lady Tremaine told me I have the kids well under control… good job! I’m not sure if that’s a compliment or not :confused3 It was fun anyway!

As the characters were being introduced, we had a jolly time booing instead of cheering or clapping and we carried it on as Anastasia and Drizzella arrived at our table. Anastasia was quite miffed and offered to just leave and forget the whole thing. :lmao:

Ariana was thrilled to have another mini birthday celebration....
