This will be our first time using the DDP but don't know about tipping. I don't think it includes tips. Does it? Will they give us a bill so I know how much it would of cost if I paid OOP? I want to make sure my servers are taken care of. I'm an ex-waiter/bartender.

No it does not include tips. See the Tipping sticky thread @ the top of the main Restaurants Board for more details. All tipping questions go there.

You will get a bill and then give them your key card to pay, so you'll have the amount of the bill in front of you. You can use the key card, cash or another credit card to pay tips.

We just returned and used DDP for the 1st time so I had been wondering too. The bill comes showing what the total would be. It also has calculated for you what an 18% and 20% tip would be as a guide. You of course can tip more or less, but I like when the math is done for me. We gave the server our room key and told them to charge the tip to the room. That way they can deduct credits from DDP and charge the tip to the room and we didn't have to worry about multiple payment methods. You can charge tips to a cc or leave cash as well.

:thumbsup2. Just be sure that if you circle on of the tip choices on the receipt that you also do not write on the tip line of your receipt. You would be in effect double tipping then. We also tip well but realized this was a problem the first time we did DDP. I would circle the amount but also wriote it on the line- double tip. We did catch on after the second ticket.

There's already been a post referring to the Tipping Information Thread on the main Restaurant Board. All tipping discussion on the Restaurant boards must take place on that thread. Please read the first post; it has posting guidelines and a tipping FAQ.
