Hi and welcome to my second trip report! I have been on a slight hiatus from the DISboards, but am glad to be back to relive the details of our trip. I also hope to get caught up on TRs from old friends and maybe make some new ones, too!

The details:
We stayed at Pop Century from Wednesday, September 28th-Wednesday, October 5th with the DDP.

We attended MNSSHP on Sunday, October 2nd.

I ran in the Wine and Dine half marathon on Saturday, October 1st.

Bella and a friend ran in the kids races the morning of Saturday, October 1st.

We had some awesome DISmeets!

The trip was planned because I have been running on and off for about a year and a half now, and my goal the whole time was to do a half marathon. I originally thought about Marathon weekend 2011, but life got in the way of my training and it just wasn’t in the cards. Then when I read some TRs about last year’s Wine and Dine, I thought it would be perfect! I am a night person, so a night run sounded great to me!

I am a single mom, so the problem I encountered was that I didn’t know if I would be able to take Bella with me or not since I would not have anyone to watch her during the race. I have a lot of DIS friends that were going to be there the same time, and they were all (ok most) bringing their kids so I knew I would miss her if I didn’t. Well, I have a friend, Stacy, who is also a single mom whose daughter is the same age as Bella. When I mentioned the idea of a Disney trip way back in January to her she was IN! We found some awesome airfare deals last spring and we were set! This was Stacy’s first trip since she was little so it was all new to her, and Kayla’s first trip. I was excited to show them around!

Wednesday, September 28th

I woke up that morning sooo excited! There was only one little problem-I had to work all day! I teach kindergarten and I knew it was going to be a long day. Bella and I finished packing our carryons and my dad picked us up and took her to school and then me to work. We had loaded up their van the night before.

After what seemed like eternity the day ended. I ran out the door to where my parents were waiting with Bella to take me to the airport. She gets out of school earlier than I do so they had picked her up first. Stacy and Kayla live on the other side of the airport so the plan was to meet them there.

We got to the airport before they did. After a quick check through security, we were at our gate. Bella played her DS while she waited for Kayla to show up.

Finally, we saw them! We live about an hour apart, so they hadn’t seen each other in a few weeks.

While we were waiting for our flight, the girls ate Burger King and acted silly!

Finally, we were on the plane. I figured Kayla and Stacy would sit across the aisle from Bella and I, but the girls really wanted to sit together so Kayla and Bella sat with me and Stacy sat across the aisle from us.

It was an uneventful flight and we landed 20 minutes early! The girls enjoyed the scenery at MCO.

And soon we were on the Magical Express. We were some of the first ones on so we had to wait a while. Then we stopped at Caribbean Beach before ending up here.

There was no line to check in, and we were given room 9433. I had asked for a room in the 50’s but there were none available so we were told we could switch in the morning if we wanted. By this time, it was after 10 Florida time so we just wanted to get to our rooms.

After we walked through Pop on the way to our room, we were exhausted. We were a little worried about our bags since it was so late, but a call to the front desk ensured that they would bring them to us as soon as possible. We instructed them to go ahead and wake us up when they arrived. We needed them for the next morning! We all climbed into bed and waited for sleep to hit us. It didn’t take the girls long but Stacy and I couldn’t sleep because we were so excited for the morning!!!

Up next: Would our bags arrive before morning? Which park would we hit first???

Thursday, September 29th

At 1:30 in the morning, there was a loud knock on our door. Our bags had arrived! Luckily the girls didn’t wake up and Stacy was next to the door, so she groggily handed him his tip and got our bags in. We fell right back to sleep and slept until about 6:30.

We all woke up excited even though it was so early. Where were we headed? AM EMH at the Magic Kingdom! We all had to shower and get ready, so we weren’t out the door until a little after 7:30. Here are the girls waiting for their first Disney bus of the trip!

We got to the Magic Kingdom only a little after 8, got our bags inspected, and headed in. The first thing we did was stop for a Photopass picture! I don’t have the CD yet, so I will post it when I can. But here are a couple that I took:

I shot this video of the first glimpse they got of the castle. It is a little bumpy-Blair Witch style-since I was walking and recording at the same time. I love their excitement though! (I hope I am posting it right).

As the video ended, we were getting another Photopass taken. After that, we walked right up Main Street and through the castle! Our original destination had been Dumbo, but it already had a 20 minute wait. Peter Pan did, too, so we grabbed Fastpasses for later. As we were walking to our first ride, Bella asked, “Mom, can we call our Peter Pan Fast passes ‘Peter Passes?’

Our first ride wasn’t far away--it was “It’s a Small World.” I didn’t take any pictures because I was video taping, but Stacy has some, and when she emails me copies I will post them. We did walk right on.

We all enjoyed the ride and walked over to Winnie the Pooh. I took a lot of pictures in the new queue since we hadn’t seen it before. We waited less than 10 minutes for this ride.

It was fun as always, and when we were done on it, we went to the Mad Tea Party and walked right on--probably only half of the tea cups had people in them!

After this ride, we realized the girls hadn’t had anything to eat or drink since the plane ride the night before (great parenting right there) and they were getting hungry. We decided to ride the Tomorrowland Speedway since it was right there and then we would get something to eat. We waited probably 10 minutes before getting into our cars.

They also decided they could manage a ride on the carousel before they ate. Our Peter Pan Fastpass time was up, so I went to get Splash Mountain fast passes while they did that. We planned on meeting at our breakfast destination when we were finished!

Yes it was a difficult time to take off. Luckily in my district we have a retired kindergarten teacher who taught 37 years who loves to sub. I talked to her ahead of time and the administration is much more likely to approve it for us if we have a sub lined up. It was worth it!

Disney races are amazing...I'm not sure I could do a race anywhere else, this one spoiled me! Everything runs like clockwork and it is entertaining along the way. I would love to do the Princess someday!

MK in the early morning is the best! It is one of the only things I like getting up super early for. :thumbsup2

When I left off, Stacy and the girls were on the carousel and I was heading for Splash Mountain Fastpasses. I took a crowd level pic:

It was still pretty early at this point. I also took a picture of the dance party going on in Frontierland.

I got our passes, then headed to Main Street.

I met them at the Main Street Bakery! I had never eaten here, and really wanted to this trip. I didn’t take any pictures but man they have some good stuff! Stacy and I split a cinnamon roll and a ham and egg croissant, Kayla had a cinnamon roll, and Bella had a chocolate muffin and grapes. We all ate a little of everything and it was delicious. After we had food in our systems, we were ready to go.

When we got out to the street, we saw a balloon seller. I remembered reading here that you can get a picture with the balloons, so that is exactly what we did.

Then we walked to the hub and the castle show was going on, so we stopped to watch that. This was when I had my first DISmeet, with Leanne (leamom2princesses is her screen name I think? If it‘s wrong someone correct me). We had time for just a quick hello before heading out for more rides.

Then we headed back to Fantasyland. We of course had to stop for a quick wish in Cinderella’s fountain.

We then headed to Peter Pan. It was excellent as usual! Stacy even teared up because she was just so happy to finally be there. This ride is definitely a favorite of all of ours.

After we used our “Peter Passes” we rode Snow White, it was a walk on. Last year Bella was too scared to ride it, this year she declared that it wasn’t “that” bad. I convinced her to do it since this may be the last trip we go on when it is there. I don’t know when they are taking it out and I wanted her to try it at least once before they do.

After we rode Snow White we were pretty much done with Fantasyland and it was still before noon. We started to walk towards Splash Mountain, but on the way there saw that there was no line for the Haunted Mansion. Bella and Kayla were both a little apprehensive, Kayla since she had never been and Bella because it scared her a year and a half ago when she was four. We convinced them to ride it though!!!

I love the balloons too! I don't remember ever being scared of HM but I'm sure I was when I was very young. I remember going as a teenager and loving it. I had high hopes that day that Bella had outgrown her fear! :thumbsup2

I am going to try to have an update ready tomorrow. I am waiting on Stacy to email me some pictures because I don’t have any of the next part. But in the meantime I wanted to share one of my favorite memories involving the Haunted Mansion, since that is where we headed next with the girls.

I was about 14 at the time and I had brought my friend Cathy along for the trip. She was completely outgoing and even obnoxious and at the time I thought it was hilarious. After we went through the stretching room, she started giving one of the younger CMs a hard time. She kept saying (in a friendly but teasing way), “You can’t talk to us, can you? Can you smile? Hellloooo?” and then saying to me, “See? They can’t talk to us. I can bother him all I want and he can’t say anything back.” So we were giggling about that as we boarded our doom buggy.

Well the next thing we know our db is getting ready to enter the mansion part when this face lit by flashlight pops into our car and he said (totally in character) “BOO!” He had caught up with us and jumped onto the side of our car and swung his flashlight lit face directly in front of us. :scared1: We were NOT expecting that, and we screamed and screamed. My parents were behind us and then said he definitely broke character as he cracked up laughing as he walked away. I giggle just thinking about it, he got her back for sure (and me too!)!!!:rotfl:

I apologize now for the lack of pictures in this update. I’m still waiting on them but I am going to go ahead and get it posted. I will post Stacy’s/PP pics when I get them!

When I left off we were going into the Haunted Mansion. We entered through the cemetery because I really wanted to see the new queue. The girls had fun trying all the interactive things to do. We had to wait a couple of minutes when we got to the door, and I told them to watch Madame Leota’s tomb closely. When her eyes flashed open they both screamed in an excited way. They thought it was so cool!

As we entered the stretching room, Bella was ok but Kayla was nervous. She buried her head in Stacy’s legs. Bella told me she was going to close her eyes and of course I told her to go ahead if she needed to. She ended up opening them to look at the pictures stretch and thought the lady with the umbrella was funny.

After the stretching room, Bella was a little nervous and Kayla kept saying she didn’t want to do it. Stacy reassured her that it was fun and it was all ok. Stacy and Kayla rode behind Bella and I. Once we got on, Bella kept her eyes closed for a minute but once she opened them she realized it wasn’t bad. I pointed out the clock that has the 13 at the top and she thought that was funny. After that she loved it! Especially the mirrors. Kayla thought the mirrors were funny, too. Both girls said it was fun!!! Yay!:dance3:

We made our way to Splash Mountain after that to use our Fastpasses. I thought about going to get BTMRR passes for when we were done but Bella was really antsy to get on Splash. Both girls enjoyed it and then we decided to ride stand by for BTMRR which ended up taking 25 minutes. Bella had never ridden this one before but she liked it.

After that we stopped and got a Mickey bar and headed to PoTC. It was a 10 minute wait. Bella is making her “pirate” face in this picture and she didn’t wipe her Mickey bar off her face because she thought it would look like a mustache! :rotfl:

At that point we realized we STILL hadn’t met any characters! I had made a Walgreens photo book with pictures of Bella and the characters from May 2010 and they would sign by their picture. We stopped and got Kayla an autograph book and headed to our first meet and greet!

After the Magic Carpets, we decided it was time for some characters. And we decided that the best one to meet first was the Big Cheese himself!

On the way to Town Square, we passed the pavilion for Tiana. The line was long and Naveen wasn’t there (I knew we wanted to meet with him too) so we passed, but as we did, I remembered that there was a Magic Shot in that area with a kissing frog Naveen. I found a PP person and asked her if she had it. We told her we had already had the Tinkerbelle that morning.

She pulled us over into this little deserted alcove and did a mini Magic Shot photoshoot with us! It was really cool and she was great with the girls. The only problem is she forgot the balloons in the balloon shot. I didn’t know that until I got home, so we never had another balloon shot taken. Oh well there is always next time!

This was our first experience with our picture autograph book. Mickey and Minnie loved it. They were great and took a few extra minutes to flip through the whole thing. There was a picture of them in Toontown in it and Mickey put his hand over his heart like he was sad it was gone. The handlers and PP people liked it, too, and asked lots of questions about it. It was cool to get a little extra time with the characters because of it, and this would become a trend throughout the week.

In the gift shop, the girls tried some hats on while we decided if we wanted to go back to our hotel and rest before dinner or if we wanted to continue to tour the park.

Up next: did the pool and a nap win out or were we having too much fun to leave?!?!?

Thanks! Yes the Halloween decorations are really cool. That was one reason I decided to go with orange for her first outfit, I knew it would look good with all the pumpkins! I have never seen the Christmas ones in person, but hopefully someday. :rolleyes1

The PP photographer we found was right on the bridge by Liberty Square. We had another great Magic Shot experience at Epcot which will be in a future installment. If you ask for them they usually get excited to do them is what we found this trip. I still like the balloon shots, but it looks like they are just being silly! :lmao:

We had GREAT character interactions this time, especially with the Toy Story characters. I can't wait to tell that part of it, but it was late in the week!

We all decided that we were having such a blast at MK, we wanted to stay until it was time to go do dinner. We hadn’t been in Tomorrowland yet, so that is where we headed.

The girls were nervous about Space Mountain, but we went ahead and grabbed some Fastpasses. Then we rode the Peoplemover. I had no idea they had changed it back to the old narration, so I was excited when they paged Mr. Tom Morrow! :cool1:

And then it was time for our Space Mountain Fastpasses! Kayla was pretty sure she was not going to ride, but Bella was in. Or, as she put it, “Well, I don’t really want to ride, but I’m going to make myself.” She knew there was a souvenir in it for her if she rode all the “big girl” rides she was tall enough for!

When we got to the Fastpass line, we told them we were using child swap so Kayla and Stacy made their way to the room that they wait in at Space while Bella and I rode. She was really nervous. I sat way up in my seat and kept my hands on her shoulder the whole time. When we got off, she said, “That was AWESOME! It was so fun!” and was going on and on.

We were headed to Hollywood Studios for dinner at Mama Melrose and Fantasmic! We tried to use the monorail to get to the TTC to catch a bus, but it was broken down. So we went to grab a ferry to the TTC but there was one pulling away as we walked up. So we hopped on a bus to the Boardwalk and got on a boat.

We got to Mama Melrose right on time, but they were running 30-45 minutes behind. Phineas and Ferb are right outside, so we told them we would be in that line and headed out. It was a long line, maybe 30 minutes, but at least it passed the time while we were waiting to eat. They weren’t doing any of the skits while waiting either.

After we got back into the restaurant it was still about 10 minutes before we were called. I didn’t take any pictures in the restaurant but it was pretty good. It was actually better than I remembered from last time. After we were done eating it was time to head straight to Fantasmic, but Bella had to take these on the way. It was probably 90 degrees out at this point but she saw the snow and had to start shivering!

We headed to Fantasmic and it was awesome as usual. We had the package but they didn’t even have the separate entrance open and we didn’t need it. We had seats in the middle in about the 8th row. While we were waiting, they kept making the announcement in English and Spanish so I asked Bella if she knew how to say Fantasmic in Spanish and she said it in the goofiest accent ever. Then I asked her if she knew how to say Mickey Mouse and she did the accent for that. It was pretty funny and it became a running joke for the rest of the week. I have it on video and I will post that later!

After Fantasmic we went back to the hotel and the girls got to swim for about 30 minutes. We fell into bed and crashed--it had been a busy but great first day!

Thanks! We used Photopass like crazy this trip. We stopped quite a bit and had pretty good luck with the photographers we got.

We loved having the personalized autograph book, and our character interaction was even better because of it!

I love all the photopass pictures! They turned out great! :thumbsup2 It really is awesome that Mickey and Minnie spent extra time with you guys. I can't wait to see how the rest of your MK day turned out.

Mickey and Minnie were great! I really didn't expect them to take time and look through the whole book. We had so much fun that day!

Your TR is not the first one that I've heard about Mama Melrose running behind on their ADRs. It seems like they are constantly running behind from what I see. That's a shame. It stinks to have to wait that long.

We had F! pkg at Mama Melrose this trip and I thought the food was really good, was not impressed that they were running half an hour behind as well

I had booked the dining package just in case, but it was still showing every night so that probably helped. I hope they continue to run it every night especially during busy seasons. It's a great show!

Day 2-Friday Sept 29th
We woke up really early this day since we had reservations at 8:05. We quickly got ready and were out the door a by 7:30, which was a little later than I had hoped but not too bad. We headed to Epcot and got checked in, then headed to Norway for our Princess breakfast at Akershus!

When we got there, the line to check in was fairly long (7 or 8 families ahead of us). We were about five minutes late so I got in line and it was no problem. Then another family came along and the lady was all upset over how long the line was. She came and looked at me, then the front of the line, then me again. I told her yes, this was the line to check in. She got all huffy and said, “Even with a reservation???” I wanted to tell her that the park wasn’t open and everyone in line had a reservation, but I only nodded. Then she makes her husband stand and wait so she could go check! I really wanted to tell her to relax, the day was just starting, but I controlled myself!

After we checked in we were called to be seated quickly. Pretty soon we were meeting Belle.

And then we were taken to our table. As soon as we sat down, they did the Princess Procession which was cute. For those who haven’t been there basically the Princesses have all the kids come up and parade around the restaurant. Bella and Kayla enjoyed it. Our server let us know that it would be a minute before anyone came, so we went to the buffet. We sat back down and probably five minutes later they did the procession again. It was weird, I would think they would wait longer than that. The girls decided to sit out the second round.

Pretty soon, the princesses came to visit us.

At some point, Bella knocked my Diet Coke over. The waitresses jumped into action and it was cleaned up in a minute. They probably get that all the time! Lucky for us it spilled right in between Bella and I so it all went on the table and the floor. I just was impressed with how fast they took care of it!

Overall this was a good meal but I wasn’t all that impressed with the character interaction. We ate at CRT last year and it was rushed and I had heard how much better the interaction at Akershus is. To me it felt the same. None of it really stood out, they came, they signed, they smiled and that was it. The food was good and the girls liked it, so I’m glad we did it, but I guess I was expecting more.

After we were finished eating, it was about 9:20 so the park was open. I headed toward Soarin to grab some FP while Stacy took the girls to get in line here.

After I grabbed the FP, I got in line with them. They had stopped to use the bathroom so I was there right at the same time they were. The line was already 30 minutes but we waited anyway. Since you get to meet all five, I think it is worth it. We had already met Mickey and Minnie together but we got to see them again separately. And instead of signing on their pictures Bella had them sign the front of her book.

Character interaction here was good. Nothing happened that really stood out but we enjoyed meeting them all. When we were finished, it was only about 10:00 and we had already met 10 characters that day!

We ate at Askerhus in 2007 (it was my 50th birthday trip and Mark said I should be "treated" like a princess); we went for lunch and I was not impressed with the food. The only character that really stood out was Aladdin and Jasmine who spent several minutes with us...Aladdin was flirting with me and making Jas mad. ;)

I have never done a princess character meal, but they all seem rushed to me besides Chef Mickey - for some reason thats the only place that stood out to me :confused3

The character spot line was worth it judging by the pictures alone :goodvibes you got a lot of great shots with the characters!! While we were there at the end of October I didnt see less than a 50 minute wait for that spot :scared1: I wish we had waited now, its worth it to see that many at once

It was really long, but at least it was in the AC! That is the great thing about character meals, no lines!

Yeah 50 minutes is a little too long. This was our longest wait of the entire trip for a ride or character if I am remembering correctly. I think you have to go really early or at the very end to not wait long. You should do it sometime!

Just tell your DH he gets to hang out with lots of cute girls...:rotfl: I think next time my strategy will be to head straight to the Character Spot and then head on to Soarin FP, I think it would work out better that way.

I did make Bella's outfits...you will not see her in an outfit in this TR that I did not make! I am slightly addicted. :rolleyes1 I didn't actually make the tank top, it is from Children's Place but I appliqued the "I" on it (she chose I for Isabella and I didn't argue because it is easier than "B!" :lmao:) and I made the skirt. I think a lot of the restaurants were overbooked, hopefully the new dining plan cc guarantee policy will help that.

After we met with the Fab 5, we decided to head to the Seas.

On our way, we passed these guys. They were playing all kitchen equipment and they were really good! We only watched for a minute though, we wanted to get as much done as possible.

We all enjoyed our journey through the sea and then we decided to wait 10 minutes for Turtle Talk.

We were some of the first ones in, so Stacy and I were in the front row and Bella and Kayla were in the front row on the floor. I had never seen it before, so I was super excited. The show started, and pretty soon Crush said he was going to talk to “this little dudette in the front row with the white shirt.” I started looking for someone in a white shirt when Stacy whispers, “It’s Bella!!!”

Sure enough, the CM brought her the microphone. Their conversation went like this, “What is your name?”
“Bella.”
“So, Bella, can you say, TOTALLY?”
“Totally.”
“Can you say SWEET?”
“Sweet.”
“Can you put them together and say, TOTALLY SWEET?”
“Totally sweet.”
“Rock on dudette! You are totally rockin the turtle talkin! So, who brought you here on this fine day?”
“My mom.”
“Ah, the parental unit. Let’s go talk to her. Raise your hand!”

So I raise my hand and the CM brings me the mic.
“What’s your name?”
“Kayce.”
“Where are you from?”
“St. Louis.” (We live on the St. Louis side of IL).
“ST. LOUIS! All right! Yeah….St. Louis. (Long pause) Never heard of it.”
Laughter
“I have 65 offspring, how about you?”
“Just the one.”
“Ok, just getting started…I have to know, does she ask you lots of questions?”
“Yes she does, all the time!”
“Ohhhhh, we just totally had a moment!”

And then he moved on…it was so funny and Bella still talks about it all the time. I also was video taping so we have watched it quite a few times. It was really cool.

We all loved the show, and then we looked in the aquariums for a few minutes before it was time for our Soarin FP. We headed to the land and got in the FP line.

The FP line was only about 10 minutes, so pretty soon we were flying over California. Of course, we all loved it. We grabbed more FP on our way out. Then there was no line for Living with the Land so we walked right on that. These pics are all from Stacy, this is such an interesting ride.

After our journey through the land, we headed to the Imagination Pavilion. This was another one we missed in 2010 so I was excited for Bella to get to ride it. Of course, it is not quite how I remembered it (not having ridden since 2004) but I still thought it was pretty cool, and the girls really liked it.

The girls were pretty tired at this point, and I had to pick up our race stuff, so Stacy and the girls headed back to the bus stop to go take a nap and I went on to packet pick up. I went out the IG and they headed out the main entrance. On their way out, Stacy stopped at the cranberry bog and asked one of the guys if he was in the Ocean Spray commercial--yes, that’s him! So she took a picture of the girls with him.

So when I left off, Stacy was taking the girls back to the hotel for a nap and I was heading to the WWoS for packet pick up. I decided my best course of action was to walk to Beach Club, an official race weekend resort, and catch the shuttle to the ESPN complex.

I had never done that before, so I stopped to ask a CM at the IG exit which way to BC. She pointed me in the right direction but warned me that it was “a really long walk.” I thought that was weird because, though I had never done it, I had heard many people talk about how close it was. :confused3 So I headed that direction and lo and behold, less than five minutes later I was arriving at BC!!! This started a lot of complicated issues with transportation to and from the ESPN complex…:rolleyes:

Anyway, I arrived at Beach Club and asked one of the CMs out front what the best way was to get to ESPN. He hesitated and looked at me and gave me directions about walking to Epcot, catching a bus to POP (which has unreliable transportation to the complex throughout the year but was not an official resort), catching a shuttle from there. WHAT!?!?!??? :scared1:I just CAME from Epcot. So I told him I thought this was an official race resort and that transportation was provided.

“But I thought this was an official race resort!” I was a bit flustered at this point. It was hot out and I had just trekked though Epcot.

“Oh, are you going there for the race weekend events? We do have special event transportation there but it is only for guests participating in race weekend events.” :headache:

I kept it polite instead of saying what I wanted to say (REALLY? Seriously? What in the heck do you think I am going there for???) and nodded and said that yes, I was going to packet pick up. He then directed me to the signs and I found the spot where the shuttle was picking up.

Pretty soon, I was arriving here.

I walked in and followed the signs to packet pick up. I had brought race results from a 10K I did in August so that I could be moved from the last corral. I wanted as much of a cushion between me and the sweepers as possible! Well, the last corral is E, and I expected to be moved to D or maybe C. Imagine my surprise when they moved me to A!! :banana: I could start with all the 7 minute milers. You will have to wait and see where I actually started the race!

After I got my stuff, I got Bella’s and Kayla’s for the kids races the following morning. Then I headed to the Sports Grill for a DIS meet with some of my DIS besties!!

I love the Imagination ride and area...I remember it being different when I was younger I think they have changed the ride a few times over the years :confused3

I used to work at Living with the Land during college time for one summer...it was a lot of fun...I used to be bored with the ride when I was a kid, but it really is cool how Disney does the greenhouse :thumbsup2

I did the Wine and Dine half marathon last year and I swear not one CM even knew there was a race that weekend, I thought maybe it was just because it was the first year for it :confused3 I guess not :rotfl:

I was so lucky to find other confused people to follow along with for the day of the race, otherwise I wouldnt have made it!!

Thats awesome you got moved all the way up to the first Corral...I cant wait to hear about the race!

The CMs this year were pretty confused, too. Maybe they will get it by next year? :confused3

I was pretty shocked to be put in Corral A...I am not fast at all! :rotfl:

The Beach Club is such a quick walk from International Gateway, I don't know what that CM was thinking! And then another one who gives you such weird directions to WWoS until he figures out that you're in the race? :rotfl2: Strange!

It was a short walk, and that is what I thought from all I have read. I guess she was mixed up!

If you don't keep a 16 minute per mile pace, you get "swept" from the race and transported to the finish line in a golf cart. You don't get a medal either. They don't start the pacing until the last person crosses the start line, so the closer to the front of the pack you are, the safer! :thumbsup2

Kayce, sorry I missed the update (I'm trying to run through my TR so I get it done before the holidays and so I can start Mary's and my PTR).

I can't believe the CM at the BC was so :confused3. Why else would you be asking unless you were participating?

Can't wait to read about the DIS meet.

Part of what inspired me to take this trip at this particular time and run the half were some of my best DIS friends. They were all planning to run the 5K, but I had already done a few of those and was wanting a little more. So I signed up for the half knowing they would all be there at the same time anyway.

We all “met” a couple of years ago, but since last January had really been chatting and planning a lot. Some of them don’t even make it here to the DIS anymore, so we chat mostly on Facebook. This was the first time I was meeting them in person, though!

This is Lisa, Jill, me, Wendy, Nickie, Leanne, and Flat Connie (she was originally supposed to go but ended up not making it). Sadly this is the only picture I have of this meet but we all sat around and talked for about an hour and a half. We then parted ways but most of us planned to meet that night for Illuminations.

Leanne and her husband Joe had a car there and very kindly offered me a ride back to Epcot. I had huge bags full of my and the girls’ stuff, so I asked if they would take me back to Pop instead. They did, and I found out Stacy and the girls were already on the bus back to Epcot so they offered to wait for me and drive me there, too. It was very nice of them and Leanne if you are ever reading this, thanks again.

When we got into Epcot, I met Stacy and the girls under Spaceship Earth. They had taken a two hour nap and were ready to go! First we went and had some PP taken since we hadn’t gotten to that morning.

Then since there was no line, we decided to go on Spaceship Earth. As we were sitting down, my bag must have hit the screen because the whole ride was in Portuguese. It was not as interesting but we still enjoyed looking at all the scenes! And our pictures still came out good, though I have no idea what our future said.

The girls decided to play that game that you push little energy things around, so I ran and got Test Track fast passes while they did that. When I got back, we headed to use our Soarin ones from earlier, but as we did, we had to stop at Club Cool. Wouldn’t you know it, the first one Kayla tries is the Beverly. I didn’t have my camera ready and she warned the others that it was gross, so no funny Beverly photos for me.

It wasn’t quite time for our Test Track ones, so we decided to head to ride the Fiesta Donald ride. Bella loves that ride.
