Hiya
We just returned last week from a fabulous 12 day trip to WDW. :woohoo: For those of you that know me, last year was filled with drama. :headache: We were hoping that this year would not be the same. I hope you stick around with me to find out! ;)
I am uploading pictures now and will be officially starting my TR this afternoon!
Thanks for reading along with me! :goodvibes

Hi again
Let's get started with our Cast of Characters
First, there's me, Sophia, the planner of all things Disney in our family. I live and breathe Disney and some say that I am Disney obsessed. :rolleyes1 I started planning this trip in 2010, before we even left Disney in 2010.
This is a picture of me from our photo session last year at WL.
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh157/scyoungbauer/Disney%20Sept%2010%20-%20Photopass%20Session/Disney2010PhotopassII117.jpg
This is Joe, my awesome husband of 11 years. I love this man....big time! He goes along with my Disney obsession and let's me do whatever it is I want while planning the trip.
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh157/scyoungbauer/Disney%202011%20-%20Part%201/DisneySept20111984.jpg
We were meeting up with lots of friends this trip....new friends, old friends, good friends, awesome friends.
First, there is Jenn (inkedupmomma) and her family. We met here on the Dis a few years back and have become super close. I was excited to get to see her again. The last time we saw each other was when she came to Ohio for a visit last year. Jenn's boyfriend Bob, her daughter Kayla and son Jack are also among this cast of characters. I gotta say, I just love them all to pieces. Bob is an awesome guy and I am so glad that he and Jenn are together. Kayla is all about Disney nerds and so am I! She's the sweetest thing! You just wanna hug her and pinch her cheeks! Lastly, there is Jack. Jack is such a little man now. He's so dang cute that I can't stand it....just like his sister!!!
This first picture is of Jenn and Jack.
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh157/scyoungbauer/Disney%20Sept%202011%20-%20Part%205/DisneySept20112507.jpg
Next up is Kayla.
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh157/scyoungbauer/Disney%20Sept%202011%20-%20Part%202/DisneySept2011201.jpg
Jack by himself.
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh157/scyoungbauer/Disney%20Sept%202011%20-%20Part%205/DisneySept20112505.jpg
And if you can freaking believe it..........I have no pics of Bob by himself! You can however see him standing near Kayla. Check out the grin on his face! That's one happy man!
(Jenn, you gotta help me out here and post one of Bob!!!)
Also joining are cast are Chuck and Mary (labsrus1). I met them last year on the DIS and get this....they live in NE Ohio too! We are lucky in that we get to see them now and then. We usually swap sides of town when we visit. One visit will be here, the next there...you get the picture. I was so happy that we got to see them on this trip. Most of the pics we have are photo pass pictures and I don't have the disk yet, but here is one of us with Chuck and Mary and Jenn and her family during this trip.
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh157/scyoungbauer/Disney%20Sept%202011%20-%20Part%202/DisneySept2011234.jpg
Next up are the newlyweds, Stef and Dave (stefy and soopafly). We met on the Dis last year and have keep in touch via email and IM. They live in England and were married in Italy. We were so happy that we were able to spend time with them during their Disneymoon. They are a super lovely couple and Joe and I both were so thrilled that they shared some of their time with us during their Disneymoon. :grouphug:
This is a photo from last year but I will be posting many from this trip as well.
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh157/scyoungbauer/stefdave.jpg
We also met up with another awesome Diser that we met in person last year. Kathy (KatMark) and her husband Mark. While I don't have pictures to share, I will be sure to tell you about our meeting later on in my TR.
Finally, my best friend from work was there with her family. It was their first trip. I also don't have photos to share just yet, but oh boy, wait til you see how their first trip started!!!!! :wizard:
So that's it. That's my cast of characters!!!
Next up, day 1..........

We started our day at the "bcod" or "butt crack o'dawn" as we like to say. We had a flight out of Cleveland that was to leave at 6:10 and connect in DC. I had called a cab for 4:30 a.m. (yes, 4:30 a.m.) to take us to the airport. Let me tell ya, it was NOT fun getting Joe up for that cab ride.
This year we said we'd take one less piece of luggage since luggage fees are so ridiculous these days. That means we had 4 suitcases and 3 carryon bags. :rolleyes1
The cab was right on time and we counted less than 10 cars on the road at that hour of the morning. We arrived at the airport to find that there were tons of people in line at the bag drop. Oh no, this wasn't looking good. Once we got through bag drop and paid our $85 dollars, we went through security. Of course, I set off the alarm, as I usually do. :rolleyes1 We had plenty of time to get to our gate though so once we made it through security we mosied on over to the very last Continental gate. We stopped at Bruggers for a bagel first though since they no longer serve any type of food on the plane we were scheduled to fly out on.
We got there and took a seat and waited to board. Well, funny thing is, at 6 a.m. the door wasn't even open. It seems that our pilot was in the air. Nice, now what? Just about everyone waiting for that flight had a connection in DC and you could see the panic. A little after 6 they told us that we were delayed until at least 7:30. Well, that was a bummer as we'd definitely miss our connection. People went nuts. The poor gate attendant couldn't even try and find other flights without getting interrupted. Joe and I took matters into our own hands and walked over to the Continental kiosk to see if we could get on the next non-stop. Granted, we had checked our bags already but we tried anyway. The attendant was awesome. After she heard our woes, she tried to bump us to first class. Unfortunately it didn't work because I used miles for our flights and the system would not let her bump us up. I didn't care though, we were on the next non-stop. Trouble was, it was at 9 a.m. Yikes, you should habe seen Joe's face. Dang, he could have slept for a few more hours. :lmao:
After 4 hours at the airport, we boarded our flight to MCO.
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh157/scyoungbauer/Disney%202011%20-%20Part%201/DisneySept2011004.jpg
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh157/scyoungbauer/Disney%202011%20-%20Part%201/DisneySept2011003.jpg
Buh-bye Cleveland! I had planned to take pictures but once we were situated, I didn't want to get up and get the camera out.
The flight was full and as usual, before the wheels left the ground, Joe was asleep. Me on the other hand, not so much. It got a tad bit bumpy and there was no way that I could sleep. The flight had Directv so I pretended to be interested in watching tv. Yeah, that didn't work. Next, I tried to read. I had taken my Kindle loaded with Disney books so I thought that would help me forget about the bumpy flight. Nope, not a chance. Then it hit me....hey, I'm going to Disney World! Lighten up, enjoy the ride. So I settled in and read for a bit and before I knew it we were landing at MCO. YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!
MCO has changed since the last time we flew there. The airport is quite nice now actually. We hoped on the fake monorail and got our first taste of "please stand clear of the doors........."
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh157/scyoungbauer/Disney%202011%20-%20Part%201/DisneySept2011005.jpg
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh157/scyoungbauer/Disney%202011%20-%20Part%201/DisneySept2011006.jpg
I was fully expecting to go to carousel 1 or 2, making a left as we got to the bottom of the escalator, or the stairs in my case. Nope, now you go right. Ok, cool. We got our luggage and headed over to get our rental car. Once we got outside we were thrilled that it wasn't super duper hot and humid but that lasted all of about 5 minutes. :lmao: In Joe's usual fashion, he took 3 years, well, 10 minutes, to pick a car. Sheesh, I don't get it. Just get in dude. I wanna get there already. We rented a full sized car since we knew that we were not going to use Disney transportation.
Once Joe finally selected a car, I sent Jenn a text and let her know that we were on our way.

We took the toll rode and not I-4 so I was constantly digging in my purse for either $1.25 or $.75. Sheesh, there are a lot of tolls on that thing.
I got super excited once I saw this sign.
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh157/scyoungbauer/Disney%202011%20-%20Part%201/DisneySept2011014.jpg
And then mega excited...yeah, you know, the OMG kind of excited, when I saw this sign.
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh157/scyoungbauer/Disney%202011%20-%20Part%201/DisneySept2011017.jpg

I told Joe that I just love seeing those purple signs.
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh157/scyoungbauer/Disney%202011%20-%20Part%201/DisneySept2011018.jpg

We did on line check in so I was hoping that our room would be ready. It was about 1 pm so I wasn't quite sure.
We walked in and can you believe it, there was no one in line at all...no one...nope, just us! Sorry, no picture for proof. :rotfl:
We were so lucky. We got a corner room on the ground floor and we were close to Jenn.
We dropped our bags and flew out the door. Guess where we went?
Up next.........where does one go after arriving at Disney? Why, the Magic Kingdom of course!

We drove to the TTC and parked the car. We walked over to the monorail from there and didn't take the tram.

Our first order of business was to trade in our vouchers for AP's, get our refund for the MYW tickets since we didn't need them and pick up our tickets for MNSSHP. OMG, it took forever to get this done. We may a really nice CM from Vermillion, Ohio who was helping us out but my word, it took sooooo loooong. This lady at the window next to us was not having a magical day and she was so snotty to the CM that was helping her that I wanted to trip her. And she let her kids run wild the whole time. One of them kept bumping into or hitting Joe and finally she said "don't touch people" to her. She was moaning up a storm because she wanted to talk to a real live person that could help her with a tour at Epcot and don't go giving her a phone number because she was taking names! Good Lord lady, with an attitude like that, no one even wants your business.
We were there so long that the CM gave us a slip to use as a FP that day anywhere at MK. Aww, that was nice of him.
I sent Jenn a text and told her we were finally there but Joe was hungry.
I just love that first walk onto Main Street. I didn't spend nearly enough time taking pictures though since we were anxious to get to Jenn.

We went to Casey's for what was, notice that I said was, the best dog at WDW. What the he** did they do to those buns!? First of all, they were not buns. They were hoagie rolls and way too big for the hot dog. I wasn't pleased with the changes and what was funny was that our CM at the ticket window actually warned me about them.
Jenn, Bob and the kids met us at Casey's and we all sat on the bleachers to have some lunch.

http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh157/scyoungbauer/Disney%202011%20-%20Part%201/DisneySept20111979.jpg
We decided to ride the Peoplemover first. Ahh, what a nice way to relax. The girls rode together and the guys rode together.

After our ride, we split up. The guys and Kayla went on Space Mountain (I think). Jenn and I decded that we'd go to COP but first, we rode Buzz. I couldn't for the life of me do nearly as well as last year. After Buzz we went over to COP. I know a lot of people don't care for it, but I have to say that I do enjoy it.
Once we met up with the rest of the group, we were trying to figure out what to do next. It was so dang hot out that Joe and I were ready to go back to the resort and unpack and relax before our dinner that evening. If I remember correctly, I think that we all went back to our resort. I rode with Jenn and Kayla and Joe drove Bob and Jack back.
Once we got back to POFQ, Joe walked over and got our refillable mugs while I started to unpack.
After resting a bit, we got ready for dinner at Kona with Jenn, Bob and the kids. We love Kona for breakfast and were anxious to try it for dinner.

After dinner we decided to watch Wishes from the beach at the Poly. As luck would have it, we were able to watch Hallowishes! It was awesome. What a great viewing spot. Jenn and I sat on a lounge chair and were able to catch up for a bit before the show started. Movie night at the Poly was Tangled that evening. I just love that movie.
We also were able to see the Electric Water Pageant.

What an awesome way to end our first night of the trip.
After Hallowishes we went back to POFQ to finish unpacking and to try and get a good night's sleep. The next day was our 11th anniversary.
Up next, Day 2.

Okay, all caught up. First, I am PM'ing you a pic if you want to use it.
I remember you tellling me when we had a drink about the airport issues. I'm glad you eventually got there and all went well.
:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo: for the fastpass since you had to wait with your tickets, etc.
I CANNOT believe how big Jack has gotten since the last time I saw pictures of him. I really am getting old.
Sounds like a great morning at the MK and a great dinner at Kona (we tried breakfast finally this year and loved it...now I want to do dinner).
Can't wait for the next update.

I saw the Facebook update as well and I came directly here!
First of all I LOVE your TR's. They are always so detailed and it makes me want to visit places that I havent (like Kona for dinner, we've done breakfast but not dinner).
Also I want the necklace you are wearing in that very first photo of you. Its a beautiful pic by the way. But I want that necklace, ha ha.
I'm kinda bummed I missed out on seeing you & Jenn & crew but there will be a trip in the future I am sure where my lil guy will be added into the mix
Looking forward to reading more!

Joining in! I remember reading some of your posts on the September countdown thread. That banana dessert pic looks so good. Mmmm popcorn::
Hi and welcome :welcome:! Nice to have you here. Jenn had the banana dessert. It did look pretty tasty, didn't it?
I'm here! PLan on reading this while I recuperate from this horrible stomach bug!
Hi Beka. :welcome: to my TR. OMG, I've been reading your FB updates. You poor thing. I hope that everyone gets better soon. It doesn't sound like fun. :worried:
Hi Kathy! Thanks for sending the picture. I will definitely use it in my update. I wish we had more time together. We will certainly have to do a meal together if any of our future trips cross.
Jack has gotten so big. Joe and I were saying that he's like a little man now. He says the cutest stuff. pirate: Kayla is so grown up now as well. I was just looking at pictures from our first trip together today. Makes me realize just how fast time is flying by.
I saw your facebook post and came right over.
I am so happy you got to meet up with Jenn and her family again. It sounds like you had a wonderful first day with them.
I can't wait to hear more about your adventure.
Hi  Welcome to my TR. I know that we keep saying it, but we have to get together sometime soon. I want you to come over and meet our fur babies. Stevie is a big guy already and Ringo is catching up to him.

Thanks for joining me on my TR. Always nice to have you with me.
I got the necklace at TrenD last year. I really like it. In fact, this year I went back and got the same one in silver. :rolleyes1
Can't wait to meet the little guy. Will be here before you know it....and Disney baby clothes are just too cute, aren't they?

Day 1 sounds like you had a great time. Too bad you didn't get to sleep in though... And the woman and her kids :confused3 why do people act like that.
Dinner at Kona looks amazing! I enjoyed our meal there last year and plan to go again in December. The banana desert is new, right? Either way..old or new... it is calling to me. :goodvibes

Day Two, September 17th - our 11th wedding anniversary!
Man, 11 years has gone by soooooo fast. I can hardly believe it. I've aged. :lmao:
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh157/scyoungbauer/11-25-2007025617PM.jpg
I remember our wedding day like it was yesterday. We Disneymooned at the Dolphin that year.

and our good friends E&B met us there:
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh157/scyoungbauer/honeymoon5.jpg
Ok, ok, enough strolling down memory lane for me....back to my TR. :rolleyes1
Of course, I was up super, duper early that morning. No way could I sleep in! I decided that I'd try and decorate our room windows since I was up so early. As you can see, it was pretty early and still a bit foggy out.

I walked around a bit before waking Joe. We had an ADR for breakfast with Jenn at......wait for it..................Kona! Woot.
Anywhoo, I walked around and took a few pictures since I had some time to waste.

I went back inside and woke Joe up and did we do every Disney trip. I immediately turned on the TV, hit the down button two clicks and landed on the Disney Channel. Yep, that's it, the Disney Channel. Never mind that I am close to half a century old.
Apparently, my timing was interesting because what did I land on? These dang potatoes singing away! "....small potatoes on the moooooonnnnnnnnn." WTH? They had on costumes too. And...they spoke with English accents. Woot!
These potatoes would be with us for the entire duration of our trip!!!!
While I waited for Joe to get ready, I took pictures of the room. Yep, I completely forgot to do that before we started to unpack when we arrived.

We were meeting Jenn for breakfast at Kona and what I can't remember is if we all went together or not. :confused3
I took these on our way to the car, via a little detour since I had not been able to explore the resort yet.

So, funny story here. The boys were sitting at the table while the girls wondered a bit (ok, well, we did the whole potty thing really). I was outside Kona taking pictures and talking to the boys and Joe was doing The Rock thing where he lifts his one eyebrow. Then Jack tried it.

We enountered a very obnoxious CM when we arrived. I will let Jenn tell the story in her TR though. All I can say is really dude? Are you serious?
After getting through the gate and putting the awful CM behind us, we headed over to ToT. I can't remember who all rode but I know I didn't. I did however take a few pictures.

We were watching the clock because Jenn had a lunch ADR at Epcot. We really wanted to ride Star Tours since we have not been on it since the refurb.
We high tailed it over there and walked right on. The line went so fast that I could not even stop and focus the camera while taking these spectacular pictures. :lmao:

I really love the new Star Tours. I know that there are a variety of versions now and honestly, I can't remember which one we had. I just remember that I liked it.
We checked out all the stuff in the dump shop before realizing that we had to high tail it to EPCOT if Jenn was gonna make her ressie.
Yay, we're here!!!!!!!! We waited in the security line for what felt like for-e-vah. Our mopo (Mouse Policeman) was very thorough in the bag inspection.

We said our temporary good-bye's to Jenn and they headed over to WS. Joe and I rode SSE. We were in line and this little boy in front of us was screaming his bloody head off that he didn't want to go on the ride. He was super scared and there wasn't anything his parents could do to calm him down. I think they were in for a rough vacation!

Since it was our anniversary, Joe picked out his gift (it's easier that way peeps). He got himself a watch that he has been wanting for three years. He saw it once then never saw it again until then. Yay, he was happy. I got myself a bag that I told Joe I could not live my life without. Yep, it was $11.99. Score!
After we did some shopping we decided that we were a bit hungry and stopped at the Electric Umbrella. I was scared to eat there since the last time we were there it wasn't so pretty. I ordered a wrap last time that smelled like a dirty diaper and it promptly hit the trash can before we even sat down. Ok, so back to lunch. Surprisingly, it was good. Sorry, no food porn this time. :guilty:
After our lunch we headed over to WS to meet Jenn.
I took this as we were whizzing by.........

First order of business was one of these.

Jenn, Bob and the kids arrived shortly thereafter and Bob went to get a GGS. Yep, one sip, he seemed hooked. My God, those things are awesome!!!
After our drinks we headed to Japan..........

What a lovely morning! You spent your morning as I spend most mornings at WDW! Up before the rest of the family, out exploring!! To me, especially with 3 little ones along, it's the best way to spend the morning. In silence and relaxation :lmao:
Your Kona breakfast looks sooooo yummy!!! Honestly, I'm not a huge fan of tonga toast either! It's just too much! Too sweet, too big!!! I go on the theory that my breakfast shouldn't be as big as my head!!!

Great update, Sophia. I am so in love with Kona now that we finally got there and it will remain on the list for future visits.
What was with the Mouse Policeman this year? I swear, some of them took five minutes a bag. Really?????? :scared1:
I wonder why that litlte boy was so afraid of Spaceship Earth?
Uh oh....doesn't sound good regarding the CM at the Studios.

Those small potatoes.. oh how I adore them now!
Who took the pic of you and Joe in front of Kona.. seems like a kid angle lol!
I swore I asked that guy to get a group shot of us with my camera too.... guess not, cause I can't find it! glad one of us was on the ball!
omgosh jack and that eye trick.. still trying to do it at home!
I cant say what happened at DHS yet, or why we got FP's for TSMM but man was I happy about them!
That grey goose slushie was da bomb dig! I only had a sip, but man when we go in Feb I will def have a few.. heat and alcohol do not mix well with me!
We LOVED LOVED LOVED the new Star Tours.. my god, we must have ridden it a couple dozen times in that 2 weeks lol!
Happy Anniversary post!

Day Two, September 17th - our 11th wedding anniversary!
Happy late anniversary. I am not sure if I mentioned before or if you had to me...but our anniversary is the 16th. Not the same year as yours though... lets just say I have been married more than half my life :rolleyes1 so our 11th anniversary was some time ago. I feel old. :rotfl:
I decided that I'd try and decorate our room windows since I was up so early. As you can see, it was pretty early and still a bit foggy out.
I walked around a bit before waking Joe. We had an ADR for breakfast with Jenn at......wait for it..................Kona! Woot.
Anywhoo, I walked around and took a few pictures since I had some time to waste.
Your pictures are just confirming that someday I will have to stay at POFQ. Funny...last year you were at WL and this year I am. This year you are at POFQ...and I think that may be where I am headed next...course the new resort will be open next year so maybe I will have to try for that.
So is this the reason for the title? I read it aloud and my youngest dd said..."oh yes, those are on Disney Jr. " :rotfl:
While I waited for Joe to get ready, I took pictures of the room. Yep, I completely forgot to do that before we started to unpack when we arrived.
So no pictures of the bed (I assume because someone was getting ready) However, where the spreads nice? They were recently refurbed, right? Queen size beds now?
Ok, so here we are, arrived at the Poly and waiting for breakfast. Let's get this day started! I had hideous hair the entire trip so you wont' see many pictures of me!
Really? You think your hair is hideous in that picture? I love it! I have super straight, super fine, super THIN hair (and by thin I mean...like I am balding :rotfl:) I think you have beautiful hair. :goodvibes
Breakfast at Kona on our anniversary has become a tradition. Joe and I both love it there....as in, we really love it there.
I know that just about everyone loves Tonga Toast but sadly, not a fan. I have tried it more than once thinking maybe I really did like it...nope, nada, forget it. THIS is all about ME!
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh157/scyoungbauer/Disney%20Sept%202011%20-%20Part%202/DisneySept2011098.jpg
Holy crap peeps, this stuff is the bomb! Jenn got them too.
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh157/scyoungbauer/Disney%20Sept%202011%20-%20Part%202/DisneySept2011100.jpg
Oh breakfast looks yummy!
Here are a few more pictures of the Poly before we move on to the rest of our day.
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh157/scyoungbauer/Disney%20Sept%202011%20-%20Part%202/DisneySept2011105.jpg
Great photos! Makes me want to stay there too. :confused3
The plan for the day was Epcot right after breakfast. Yep, Epcot.
:rotfl2: I read that and saw the picture below and had to do a double take. "that is not Epcot" I thought to myself. ;)
Yeah, we decided to go to DHS first. Side note: stupid me didn't take ANY notes this year for my TR because I didn't plan to do one. :scared1:
And there was the explanation to help me keep up.. :rotfl:
Next we headed over to TSMM. We must have gone there first to get FP's because I remember that we entered via the FP line. :confused3
Looks like you didn't have a long wait?
We high tailed it over there and walked right on. The line went so fast that I could not even stop and focus the camera while taking these spectacular pictures. :lmao:
Oh that is right!!! New version. :woohoo:
We said our temporary good-bye's to Jenn and they headed over to WS. Joe and I rode SSE. We were in line and this little boy in front of us was screaming his bloody head off that he didn't want to go on the ride. He was super scared and there wasn't anything his parents could do to calm him down. I think they were in for a rough vacation!
I hope not... it is so hard at times with kids. They are so unpredictable. Course...so are adults. Oh yeah... traveling with anyone is a challenge. Still, I hope he settled down since that is no fun for anyone around them.
:guilty:
hmm... between mousegears smelling last year of poo and then the Electric Umbrella last year. Makes me wonder if you were following the wrong family :sad2:
First order of business was one of these.

Joe got one of these babies.

YUM! I cant wait to indulge a bit with one of these come December.
Thanks for sharing all the great pictures! It has me getting excited for December!!!
I wonder why no one has tried that pulled pork hash thingy. The Samoan? I'd try it. Why not, it's paid for, or free!
Happy belated anniversary!

What a lovely morning! You spent your morning as I spend most mornings at WDW! Up before the rest of the family, out exploring!! To me, especially with 3 little ones along, it's the best way to spend the morning. In silence and relaxation
Your Kona breakfast looks sooooo yummy!!! Honestly, I'm not a huge fan of tonga toast either! It's just too much! Too sweet, too big!!! I go on the theory that my breakfast shouldn't be as big as my head!!!
I am such an early bird. I get up soooo early, even when I don't have to. I love to explore the resorts before Joe gets up.
We love Kona....as in really love it. You'll see just how much as my TR progresses. :lmao:
No clue what was up with the MoPo. I guess when it all comes down to it, I really didn't mind since you never know when some unstable individual will get a wild hair and show up with something. :confused3
No clue why he was so scared. :confused3 They were all the way inside too and he could see that the cars didn't move quickly, etc. He had a total meltdown though.
I will let Jenn tell the story in her PTR. All I can say is that I've never encountered anything like that before on any trip to Disney. :sad2:
Omg.. those pancake, those sweet heavenly pancakes! Rocked my world as usual!

The pancakes were amazing, weren't they. Yummmmmmm
And yes, I remember now. Poor Jack was not feeling well that morning. :sad2:
Our server was a bit of an odd ball, wasn't he? If I remember correctly, didn't he totally screw up our bill too? There was something wrong with it but I can't remember exactly what. And, he was kind of a close talker too.
The picture of us at Kona was taken by none other that Kayla herself. :lovestruc
Oooh, I want a Grey Goose slushie machine! Woot!
Joe loved Star Tours too. We kept trying to see how many different scenes we could get.
Happy late anniversary. I am not sure if I mentioned before or if you had to me...but our anniversary is the 16th. Not the same year as yours though... lets just say I have been married more than half my life :rolleyes1 so our 11th anniversary was some time ago. I feel old. :rotfl:

YUM! I cant wait to indulge a bit with one of these come December.
Thanks for sharing all the great pictures! It has me getting excited for December!!!
Happy belated Anniversary!!! I'm thinking that you really are not that old. :teeth: I actually got married pretty late in life though.
We loved POFQ. Had a bit of drama which I will come to but our room was in a great place. We requested the first floor. I do like the new spreads. I hear that the beds are queen now. We upgraded to a king and had one bed in our room. Made it nice because we had a ton of extra space being on the corner and having just the king bed. Some of the theming is a bit "creepy" at the resort if you are not into Mardi Gras. :rolleyes1
OMG, my hair is totally hideous in Florida. It is so dang curly that I have a hard time controlling it. I did flat iron it a lot but it lated a whopping 30 seconds once we got outside. I have always wanted super fine, straight hair. ;)
Breakfast at the Poly is incredible. My God, I love it there. It's def my favorite on property place for breakfast with Kouzzina as a close second. The resort is beautiful too. Love to take pictures when we go there although this year I didn't take as many as I usually do for some reason.
I have no clue why that little guy was so scared of SSE. I really felt bad for his parents though.
Mouse Gears was horrible last year. Honestly, it was so stinky that I hated going in there. This year it was fine though, which made me happy. Electric Umbrella totally surprised us this time. We were pretty scared to try it and too lazy to walk to Sunshine Seasons because of the heat.
Loved the Grey Goose Slushie. The dang thing spilled all over though. I hate those glasses. You should ask for a different glass when you get yours. I hear that they use the beer type glasses and you actually get more that way too. ;)
Glad that you are enjoying my pictures. I took quite a few craptastic ones this year which has convinced me to finally, finally, finally, sign up for a photography class.
I wonder why no one has tried that pulled pork hash thingy. The Samoan? I'd try it. Why not, it's paid for, or free!
Happy belated anniversary!
Thanks Beka.
I can't get myself past those dang pancakes sometimes. You will see later on in the trip that someone (or two) did have the Samoan. :goodvibes

We headed over to Japan so that Kayla could pick a pearl. Jack and Bob were deep into a Kim Possible adventure at the time.
I love the shop in Japan. I think it's kinda cute. One day I am gonna get a pair of shoes from there but first, I gotta learn to live with the thingy between my toes. I just can't deal with that!
We wondered around the store for a bit until it was time for Kayla's turn to pick a pearl. I'm just gonna show you a couple of pics so that Jenn can tell you the details of it in her TR.
Before I do that, I have to share this picture. I just love it.

By this time I was near a meltodown as it was a zillion and 50 degrees outside that day. My legs were actually doing something totally strange that day. My thighs were numb like. Hard to describe but I learned later that the same thing happened to my mom last year in the heat. She had gone to the doctor about it when we got home. Anywhoo, Joe and I decided to head back to the International Gateway. We were going to finish the WS and end in Mexico while Jenn went the other way to finish in Canada but once we got to the boat launch I said forget it, let's take the boat.
Every year I get myself a new Micky plush for my collection and I found the best place to get them is in the shop at the Gateway. This year I ended up with the 40th anniversary Mickey and Minnie. Sorry, no pictures.
After shoppng Joe and I sat on a bench to people watch while we waited for Jenn. We saw the most interesting thing. There were these two dudes that had the strangest thing on their heads. Hard to describe, but they were Mickey hands doing thumbs up and they had them perched on their heads some how. It also seems that they were big Duffy lovers. When I say big, I mean big. Dude number 1 had a turtle shell backpack and on the straps were mini-Duffy's...like 6 of them. The other dude was the cameraman. Anyway, they got in line to meet Duffy and OMG, I nearly fell off the bench. They whipped out a giant Duffy from the backpack and started to hug it. It was strange like I can't even describe. They had to be in their 30's or 40's and OMG it was weird. Ok, so that gets me to Duffy. WTH is with all the Duffy stuff that Disney shoved down our throats this year? Joe actually ended up asking someone about it and apparently Duffy was introduced at Hong Kong Disney a while back and took off like mad so they tried it in the US. The meet and greet runs ALL DAY LONG with like a 30 minute break. Really?
Joe got an iced coffee and we did more people watching for a bit. When Jenn came back, the kids got in line, well, there really wasn't one but you know what I mean, to meet Duffy.

Well, we got a bit side tracked at Mouse Gear again. We all did some shopping. I got a shadow box and a couple of frames along with some other stuff that apparently I could not live my life without.
By this time there really wasn't time to go back and freshen up so we went right over to the Grand Floridian. We were all going to meet Chuck and Mary for dinner at GFC.
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh157/scyoungbauer/Disney%20Sept%202011%20-%20Part%202/DisneySept2011223.jpg
We got over to the GF and made our way over to check in. The plan was to have dinner and then watch Wishes from the beach at the GF. Notice I said "the plan was...."
We saw this lady dressed up like I don't know what. She had a baby carrier type thing that was filled with pink teddy bears and pink tulle all over it. Honestly, she was scary. No clue what that was all about.
Bob was parking the car so the rest of us headed for a potty stop and to meet Mary and Chuck. Jenn checked us all in....and then the waiting began. We waited...and waited....and waited. Jenn saw another Diser there that we chatted with for a bit. It's always nice to meet a Diser.
We were finally seated.

It took for-evah for our waitress to come and get our drink orders. I honestly thought that I was going to faint. Stupid me didn't drink enough during the day and was lightheaded and really, really, in need of something to drink. I think it was around 20 minutes, no lie, before we got our drinks.
We placed our order and another, oh, maybe hour goes by, no kidding, before we got our food. I had the pasta, minus the sauce and it was pretty good.
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh157/scyoungbauer/Disney%20Sept%202011%20-%20Part%202/DisneySept2011229.jpg
Joe had the steak.
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh157/scyoungbauer/Disney%20Sept%202011%20-%20Part%202/DisneySept2011230.jpg
Jack was sitting next to me. He had chicken and rice.
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh157/scyoungbauer/Disney%20Sept%202011%20-%20Part%202/DisneySept2011231.jpg
Once again this year, I ordered a specialty cake. I ordered the smallest one that I could, that would feed all of us.
We again waited...and waited....and waited...and waited for the cake to come out. I think we asked about it around three times. Next thing I know, I hear Joe say "you are never allowed to order a cake again." The waitress was behind me so I couldn't see this monster.
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh157/scyoungbauer/Disney%20Sept%202011%20-%20Part%202/DisneySept2011232.jpg
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh157/scyoungbauer/Disney%20Sept%202011%20-%20Part%202/DisneySept2011233.jpg
I don't know who was in charge of the camera at this point but none of the pictures of Joe and I with the cake came out...which is fine as by that time I looked a hot mess.
The cake was an almond white cake with strawberries and custard filling. I had a buttercream frosting with the basket weave pattern and pale colored roses.
This dang thing was so huge that I was going from table to table offering anyone that would take it cake. I ended up with two tables that were game and I was happy to be able to share it.
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh157/scyoungbauer/Disney%20Sept%202011%20-%20Part%202/DisneySept2011243.jpg
By this time we were at GFC for about 2 hours. Yeah, 2 fricken hours. We asked for the check and get this, it was all screwed up....big surprise. We had to send the check back and because of the size of our party, we were all automatically charged the 18% gratuity, which given our service, I would not have left that much. To add insult to injury, we got charged gratuity on the dang cake bill too! The cake was $115 bucks! All she did was walk it out to us and bring me a couple of boxes after I asked 15 times for them. OMG, I was not a happy camper....not in the least. But hey, it was my wedding anniversary and we were at Disney so we made the best of it.
One thing that I have to mention is that I give Jack and Kayla huge props for not getting restless like most kids do stuck in a situation like that. Not a complaint out of either one of them. Props to you guys!!
I ended up bringing the rest of the cake that I could not give away back to the room. There was no way to get it into the fridge which kind of upset me since that meant that we were not going to get to finish the cake. It actually molded within the next couple of days. Booooooo
We said our good-byes for now to Chuck and Mary and the rest of us piled into Jenn's van for the ride back to the resort. We were in GFC so long that we missed Wishes, which was sad.
Once we got back to our room, we had the loveliest surprise from Chuck and Mary. I was soooo surprised! It was beautiful.

After admiring our arrangement for a bit, we settled in to try and sleep since were going to be up and out early the next morning.

Happy belated Anniversary!!! I'm thinking that you really are not that old. :teeth: I actually got married pretty late in life though.
my husband and I have been together for 24 years now...22 of which we have been married. Now do you think I am not that old? :rotfl:
We loved POFQ. Had a bit of drama which I will come to but our room was in a great place. We requested the first floor. I do like the new spreads. I hear that the beds are queen now. We upgraded to a king and had one bed in our room. Made it nice because we had a ton of extra space being on the corner and having just the king bed. Some of the theming is a bit "creepy" at the resort if you are not into Mardi Gras. :rolleyes1
Oooh, drama? I hope it wasn't anything too bad.
We ventured over to POFQ last spring when we stayed at POR. I kinda liked the odd Mardi Gras theming. :rotfl:
OMG, my hair is totally hideous in Florida. It is so dang curly that I have a hard time controlling it. I did flat iron it a lot but it lated a whopping 30 seconds once we got outside. I have always wanted super fine, straight hair. ;)
Isn't it funny us girls always want what we don't have? Still... your hair is very pretty. :goodvibes
Loved the Grey Goose Slushie. The dang thing spilled all over though. I hate those glasses. You should ask for a different glass when you get yours. I hear that they use the beer type glasses and you actually get more that way too. ;)
Hmm... a different glass? and you get more? Hmmm:rolleyes1 So you just say "please, would you put it in a different glass" I might just try that. :goodvibes[
Glad that you are enjoying my pictures. I took quite a few craptastic ones this year which has convinced me to finally, finally, finally, sign up for a photography class.
I liked your pics from last year too. I can only imagine how awesome your pictures will be after you take a class.:worship::worship:

Sorry I'm late, but am all caught up now and loving every second :)
So glad that this trip was alot better than last year for you guys.
Yikes about your Anniversary dinner, I remember you said how long you were there, so shocking I tell you and the fact that they weren't that apologetic either. Your cake looked awesome though and humongous!!!
Looking forward to reading more popcorn::

omgoshhhh.. GFC killed me. I wanted to love it, so many people said it is a hidden gem. But man, I hated it! However, I had a lovely time with you guys and and chuck and mary. If I had to be stuck somewhere so long, I am glad it was with you guys!
and LOL at you and Joe going from table to table trying to get rid of that cake! btw, that cake was noms! I can't believe it molded so quickly though :(
I just can't even begin to understand why dinner there took 3 hours though, and if the waitress said Ok my friends one more time I was going to deck her!
Shopping in Japan was fun! I love going there! Can you believe I never did end up buying my sis in law a darn thing!
As for Duffy bear.. idk, I think build a bear made him nothing to me?? I dont get the hype, but he was cute to take pictures with!
omg and that lady.. that CREEPY lady at GFC.. I thought she was a mannequin until she moved!! All those dolls and bears, ***?? and she honestly looked like a character out of a scary movie with her make up!
and remember the bathrooms by GFC and 1900 were broken..what a pain that was!
LOVE the floral arrangement from Chuck and Mary, so thoughtful!

Hi Sophia,
Checking in late, sorry.
I couldn't believe the dinner at GFC took so long. The worst part was she offered no excuse as to why things took forever. they charged you 18% on the cake really.
I was like Joe I had to ask about Duffy, he was no where to be seen 1 yr ago.

Great update, Sophia. Before I make any comments, here is a link about the lady at the GF explaining who she is: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2040919&highlight=grand+floridian+lady
I love the picture of Kayla with the hat...too darn cute.
Your pictures of Epcot are beautiful, as always. It was hot...and I don't normally complain about the hot.
I would have been furious if it had taken 20 minutes to get a drink and another hour to get dinner. And what is with the tip on the cake? That is just ridiculous.

Fascinating.
I just don't understand Duffy the Disney bear. :confused3
Your cake looked good :) I guess it is a good thing it molded so quickly, means they were fresh, natural ingredients :thumbsup2
I love your SSE pics!

Sorry your meal took so long.... it looks yummy though. if that is any consolation. AND...the cake. MMMMMM too bad I wasn't there I would have gladly taken a piece, especially since it went to waste. :sad2: such a shame.
I don't' get Duffy either... but he is cute.

my husband and I have been together for 24 years now...22 of which we have been married. Now do you think I am not that old? :rotfl:
Oooh, drama? I hope it wasn't anything too bad.
We ventured over to POFQ last spring when we stayed at POR. I kinda liked the odd Mardi Gras theming. :rotfl:
Isn't it funny us girls always want what we don't have? Still... your hair is very pretty. :goodvibes
Hmm... a different glass? and you get more? Hmmm:rolleyes1 So you just say "please, would you put it in a different glass" I might just try that. :goodvibes[
I liked your pics from last year too. I can only imagine how awesome your pictures will be after you take a class.:worship::worship:
Yes, I still think that you're not that old! :lmao: I'm going to be ummm, half a century old on my next birthday.
You won't believe it when I get to the drama. :scared1:
I kinda like the Mardi Gras theme too, in a weird sort of way.
Yes, it does seem like girls always want the hair that they don't have. :goodvibes
DEFINITELY ask for the "other glass." :lmao:
I'm glad you like my pictures. That's so nice of you to say!
Hi Stef  I'm so glad that you are here! I miss seeing you!!!
OMG, and Jenn reminded me that it wasn't 2 hours at GFC, it was 3! Yikes.
I'm so sorry that you didn't like GFC. Granted the service was horrible but the food is usually good.
Love shopping in Japan and I can't believe that you never did get her anything. We only looked at everything...twice. LOL
Did you see Kathy's link on who that lady was at the GF?
I love the arrangement too. :)

I still can't believe the GFC. I don't think we will be going back there for a while.
I still don't get the Duffy thing. It just seems so odd to me.

Thanks for the link Kathy. I just had never seen her before so I was curious.
I love that pic of Kayla too. Loved the hat!
I can't get over the heat this year. It was unreal, wasn't it?
I was a bit miffed paying the tip on the cake too, especially when the service was so horrid.
Fascinating.

Hi! Thanks for being here!! :welcome:
The cake was very good, but I must say, not as good as the amaretto filling that we usually get. It was fresh though, as evident by the mold. :(
Sorry your meal took so long.... it looks yummy though. if that is any consolation. AND...the cake. MMMMMM too bad I wasn't there I would have gladly taken a piece, especially since it went to waste. :sad2: such a shame.

I interrupt my TR to share some awesome news with you guys!
We are going back to Disney with our good friends E & B!!! Woot! :dancer::dancer::dancer::dancer:
E&B met us at Disney in 2000 when we were there for our honeymoon. I have always hoped that some day they would go back there with us again and now it's happening.
We are going from Feb 2 - 7 and staying at Pop. The AP rate was unbelievable....all 5 nights for $340! Woot! We don't really plan to be in the room much and we will likely be visiting some of the other resorts so that E&B can at least see them.
There's talk about Sea World too. :goodvibes E&B will definitely be going from what they said. Not sure about us yet as I have a super, duper hard time taking myself out of the 47 square miles of my happy place. :lmao:
I asked them to check out the boards for restaurants that they may want to dine at. Since we were just there, I thought it would be nice if they got to pick, however, I really, really want to eat at Kona again. Those dang macadamia nut pineapple pancakes are calling my name!

Day 3 was one that we were really looking forward to. Joe and I were finally going to meet Stef and Dave from London. We have been corresponding for the better part of a year and we were truly looking forward to meeting them in person.
Stef and Dave were on their Disneymoon and were docking that morning in Port Canaveral. Joe and I asked if we could pick them up since we had planned to spend the day together shopping.
The plan was that we'd pick them up, have breakfast at IHOP (Stef wanted to check it out) and then go shop until we dropped.
Joe and I got up early that morning and headed out however not before getting our dose of Small Potatoes. "Small potatoes on the mooooon, small potatoes in the seeeeeaaaaa." The weather was nice until we got about half way there.

Things were going along nicely. Stef called and let us know where they'd be. As we got within viewing distance of the ship, this is what we saw.

I won't get into too many details about today because I know that Stef will probably want to write about it in her TR, since it was their Disneymoon after all.
We found the nearest IHOP and man, was it crowded. Some luck though as we were seated within about 5 minutes. Breakfast was yummy. I didn't take any pictures.
From there we went to the Mall at Millenia and had a grand old time. I got a couple of Pandora beads :goodvibes and we did a lot of browsing as well. We even went into the Jimmy Choo store but honestly, nothing said "I must have you now" to me...which was probably a good thing. I will let Stef describe her purchases.
From there we went to the Outlet Mall. OMG, I can't remember which one though. :confused3 We both got a couple of things at the Disney Outlet and did other shopping as well.
After that we hit up WalMart. Stef and Dave had not been in a WalMart so we thought .... why not? It was fun. Joe got a kick out of Dave taking a picture of the WalMart sign. I have to say that if we were in England, I'd do the same thing with every store that we went into. :lmao:
Our original intention was to also go to the shops in Kissimmee but we were running out of time, as we had dinner ressies at Cali Grille.
Those of you that know me know that I totally hated Cali Grille and said that I'd never go back. Stef and Dave convinced me that it was worth another shot and wow, they were oh so right.
We celebrated our anniversary that evening and the start of their Disney Parks portion of their Disney moon. Dave had a surprise for Stef but I don't want to disclose it in my TR, since I know that she will be writing about it in hers.
Sorry for the lack of details but I really want Stef to be able to talk about it. :flower3:
I did take these pictures though of our meals and of Wishes from the Deck of the Contemporary. I only had the point and shoot with me this day so our pictures aren't all that fab.

During dinner we realized that the monorail was going to discontinue service soon. Joe and I had parked at the Poly, where Stef and Dave were staying so we had to figure out how we were all going to get back there! As luck would have it, our server was kind enough to get us the heck out of there so that we could catch one of the last monorails back to the Poly.
Joe and I had so much fun with Stef and Dave. They are a lovely couple and awesome people. We feel blessed to have met them and feel as though we have found life long friends!
We got back to our room and were pretty tired so we decided to watch some tv before calling it a day.
Next up....did we make Rope Drop at MK with Stef and Dave?

Yes, they do. The room was under $60 a night except for Fri and Sat and I think they were around $62 those nights. It's amazing how much money Joe and I are able to save with AP's. When I finish with my TR I am going to take all of my receipts and totally it all up. This year we got a 10% discount on all merchandise that we purchased as well. Most years it was at selected stores only but this year it was everywhere.
I can't wait! Now to wait for airfare to come down. :sad2:

Woot for September dates! We booked bounce back and for now, our Sept dates are the 14th - 19th. We thought we'd take a short trip near our anniversary and then in 2013, move our 12 day trip to Feb.
We had a Sea World here in NE Ohio for years and years and I went a lot. We may go though because it ha been forever since we've been. I just have the hardest dang time tearing myself away from the mouse!

I personally have never been all that impressed with GF Cafe. It stinks that they made you wait so long. If I were you I would have logged a complaint with guest services. In my experience, they are always willing to right and wrongs. :confused3

I really want to hotel hop. I've always wanted to stay at PO and based on your pics I think I would like it lots. Boardwalk is also on the top of my "to go to" list. Oh and Saratoga in the tree house villas, lol. Bucket list item is to stay at every Dis hotel at least once. :rolleyes1
Woo for booking your February trip! :woohoo:
Also the family & I are in talks to do another Sept trip. I am SUPER hopeful we can make it work and spend some time with you guys while we're down there.
I LOVE the pic of Kayla with the frog hat. Too cute! :cutie:

Great updates and awesome news about going back. If you feel like you can tear yourself away from the mouse to go to Sea World, go. When we went a few years ago I loved it. I miss the one we used to have here so much and it was nice to see the whales and other animals again.

Another NE Ohio DISer joining in. Love the view for the wishes!! Soon our kids will rather eat here than Chef Mickey or Hollywood & Vine. :cool1:

YAY about E and B! That will be awesome!
Shopping sounded like fun.. sorry you didn't get the pics you wanted of the BIG boat though :(
We also LOVED Cali Grill! That cheese plate was to DIE for! My dessert was UHmazing too! It is def on our must do list for next time.. and now that will be with you :D
looking forward to your next day!
ps- we REALLY missed you this day! no more trips with so many days not together anymore!
Happy dancing over a Feb trip. :woohoo:
I was bummed that I didn't get my boat pictures. :sad2:
I really was surprised as to how much I loved Cali.
I missed you guys too but am excited that we get more time together NYear's!
Aww, I actually kind of like Duffy. I think he's cute. :)
That cake looked really good!
And yay for another trip! That is a great deal. I really think you should try Sea World. I think you'd survive if you left Disney for one day. ;) It's nice to see something new for a change.
I just can't seem to get into Duffy. He is cute but it just feels like he doesn't fit in or something. :rolleyes1
The cake was very good. They do a great job at the Grand Floridian Bakery.
It seems that E&B have decided not to do Sea World this year.
Love the updates thus far. :lovestruc
I personally have never been all that impressed with GF Cafe. It stinks that they made you wait so long. If I were you I would have logged a complaint with guest services. In my experience, they are always willing to right and wrongs. :confused3
That cake looked awesome btw. :mickeybar
Too cute! :cutie:
Looking forward to the rest of your TR.
We have always had a great experience at GFC but I think we're done for a while after this last time. :sad2: Cake was good though.
We really enjoyed POFQ. OUr friends were at POR and they liked it as well although they didn't have queen beds like they thought.
Woot for your possible September trip!!! You will have to keep us posted.
Kayla is such a cutie. :)
Yay for a Feb trip and that you are sharing it with good friends :)
Ohmigoodness will you really consider leaving Disney property to go to Sea World? Mind you, its so close that you will never be far from your happy place :teeth:
Love the update, was an amazing day and we had so much fun  It has been so much fun getting to know you and Joe this past year or so and to finally meet in person was so exciting. Keep saying to Dave, I hope we can meet up again in Disney, if not I'm sure Cleveland isn't far off the cards :teeth:
You can post as much as you want, I don't mind at all :) I still haven't started my TR and most prob won't til this weekend (hopefully). So post away what you like :)
I was so excited when our friends booked! I think we are going to have a great time.
Since E&B are not doing Sea World, we don't have to make the super hard decision to leave the 40 some square miles of awesomeness that is Disney property. :lmao:
Joe and I had a blast with you guys and are looking forward to our next visit!
Great updates and awesome news about going back. If you feel like you can tear yourself away from the mouse to go to Sea World, go. When we went a few years ago I loved it. I miss the one we used to have here so much and it was nice to see the whales and other animals again.
Did you like Sea World in Fla as much as the one that we had here? Was it different?
Another NE Ohio DISer joining in. Love the view for the wishes!! Soon our kids will rather eat here than Chef Mickey or Hollywood & Vine. :cool1:

I left you wondering if we made rope drop the next morning. We were actually running a bit late as it seems like it takes forever to get to MK if you have to go via the TTC. Man, I missed WL this past trip.
We arrived and began to look for Stef and Dave. I was so worried that we would never find them in the crowd. While we looked, I took out my camera so that the lens could have time to adjust and my picutres wouldn't all look like this.

While we waited for the opening show to start, I took some more pictures.

Next up...bring on the breakfast!

We dealt with the rush of people after the opening show that were trying to get into the park. Sheesh peeps, relax.
We decided on Main Street Bakery for breakfast. Can you believe it, Joe and I had never been in there before? I mean, he ran in and got stuff for us in the past but I have never sat down inside nor did I have a clue how big the place was (or small, depending on how many people tried to cram in the joint.)
Stef and I sat down while the boys went for breakfast. I think I just told Joe to get me "whatever." No clue why I took this picture.
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh157/scyoungbauer/Disney%20Sept%202011%20-%20Part%204/DisneySept20112190.jpg
And I think this is Stef's breakfast. Happens to be the only food porn pic that I have as well.
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh157/scyoungbauer/Disney%20Sept%202011%20-%20Part%204/DisneySept20112191.jpg
After breakfast we made our way to the Chapeau to get Stef bride ears (a must have for all brides) and to get Ringo ears. Ringo is our only fur baby that doesn't have them.
While Stef and I were taking care of business, this was going on:

We then headed down Main Street and saw these guys

Great RD pics, love seeing that on the first MK day of the trip :)
Joe and Dave were so silly with the hats, I swear we must have been in there for at least 15mins watching them try every hat on
Just want to say, my face is never normally that greasy, is a combo of sun cream and a new toner
Can't believe you've never eaten in MS Bakery before. Wish we could have that cinnamon roll again, is sooooo good!

Great update and pics!!! Love that the guys had fun with hats. Too funny... :rotfl:
Main Street bakery is surprisingly small inside. I mean...it is a prime "grab a bite to eat when you first enter the park" location and yet tinny. The one time we did eat in there it was during when there was the cheerleader thing going on. The girls decided to paint their nails in there..and proceeded to spill a bottle. What a way to ruin the nice smell of baked goods for everyone on their vacations. We left shortly after cause I couldn't take the fumes... :headache: Not to mention an entire group taking up most of the tables... we felt like outsiders.

I was so surprised at how small it was inside there too.

Great updates, Sophia. It amazes me how the rain can stop within a few feet in Florida.
It looks like a great dinner at CG (we've never been there) with Stefy and Dave. I am really upset we didn't get to meet them when they were there. :sad1:
I love the opening show at the MK; unfortunately, we did not get to see it this trip (we missed several things this trip).

We kept moving along.........
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh157/scyoungbauer/Disney%20Sept%202011%20-%20Part%204/DisneySept20112260.jpg
We decided to tackle one or two of the mountains while we were over that way. Thinking BTMRR, but guess what? It was down too! We grabbed FP's and then rode this.

Oh, and by the way, we got wet.....
From Splash we checked out BTMRR again, but it was still down.
We made our way over to HM, but guess what? If I remember correctly, it was down too. So off we went to Fantasyland and rode this.

According to my pictures, we made our way to LTT for lunch. This was the first time that we had eaten lunch there and we were not disappointed. We cheked in early and had to kill some time. Stef and I talked while the guys did this.

When it was time to be seated, the guys took their masterpieces with them so that they could finish them. They took crayons too but soon found that there were nice, new, sharp ones at the table.
Here is Dave's finished piece:

Great updates, Sophia. It amazes me how the rain can stop within a few feet in Florida.
It looks like a great dinner at CG (we've never been there) with Stefy and Dave. I am really upset we didn't get to meet them when they were there. :sad1:
I love the opening show at the MK; unfortunately, we did not get to see it this trip (we missed several things this trip).
We've never eaten at the Main Street Bakery...it looks so yummy.
It is funny how you can be driving through a ridiculously huge storm and then all of a sudden.........nothing! :confused3
CG was really good. I was very surprised after the last time we were there. I am glad that we went.
I wish that you could have met them too. They are such a cute couple and totally awesome as Crush would say!
We actually missed a lot this trip too. I was determined to catch the show though at MK.
Main St Bakery is very yummy. I plan to go there again. You should try it.

You are an updating machine today, Sophia.
First, I forgot to say in the previous update: Joe and Dave could give Mark a run for his money in the hat trying on department. :lmao::lmao:
Love the new update. Amazing that POTC was down; I remember you telling me on average it goes down 7 times a day. It was down once or twice while we were there too.
We ate at LTT in 2009, I believe, and Mark loved his meal and the toffee dessert too.

So we got to the entrance and guess what? The ride was down. Dang, I hate when that happens.
We kept moving along.........
We decided to tackle one or two of the mountains while we were over that way. Thinking BTMRR, but guess what? It was down too! We grabbed FP's and then rode this.
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh157/scyoungbauer/Disney%20Sept%202011%20-%20Part%204/DisneySept20112263.jpg
And yes, that is the only picture I took because I am scared crapless to take them while on the ride.
Oh, and by the way, we got wet.....
From Splash we checked out BTMRR again, but it was still down.
We made our way over to HM, but guess what?
Wow!!! so many rides down that somehow just inst fair. :sad2:
I don't blame you for not getting pictures on Splash Mountain. I too am terrified on that ride. I am a big ole fraidy cat when it comes to falling.

So as I stated before, I didn't take notes this trip so I am relying mostly on my pictures to remind me of what we did next.
After lunch I recall doing a bit of browsing and then making our way to the front of the park. We (well, mostly me I think) wanted to see the parade. I am a parade nut. Like so bad that I get sad when I miss them. It's pathetic.
We decided to walk past CP and see if we could find a spot over that way. I took a couple of pictures on the way.

Check out the chicky in the glasses across the street. She was having herself a good ol time! Woot!
We met a super cast member while we were waiting. Her name was Bethany. She was awesome. I think she liked Dave's accent. She called him "King David." :lmao: Bethany kept trying to get people to move out of the dang way. It is amazing to me how many people just didn't budge or looked at her like she was crazy. People can be stupid sometimes. We chatted away with Bethany when she wasn't shooing people out of the way. I think she was my favorite CM of the trip. Super nice person and she was so funny. I don't have a picture of her as she disappeared into Disney-air when we thought to take a picture.
After a few minutes, the parade finally started. Man, it was a scorching hot that day and I couldn't help but feel bad for all of the characters. They had to be melting.

After the parade I recall doing some browsing in the shops as we made our way to the front of the park. We were going to go back to POFQ for a little break before dinner. We HAD (notice I said HAD) ressies that evening at the Plaza.
Next up, what the heck?...........
OhioDisneyLover
10-23-2011, 09:39 AM
We arrived back at POFQ and guess what we saw? Our door had been left open by Mousekeeping all dang day! :scared1::scared1::scared1:
I nearly fainted. Joe went to put his key in the door and noticed that the latch was left so that the door propped open. OMG, I was freaking out to say the least.
We were on the ground floor facing the courtyard in a high traffic area. Anyone could have gone into our room. I was fuming.
I called Housekeeping and talked to the supervisor. She was nice and all but had nothing to really offer except that we'd get VIP cleaning for the rest of our trip. What the hell is that?
I was so dang mad that I went to the front desk and wanted to speak to the hotel manager. After what felt like 20 minutes, the manager came out. He said that he wanted to get the facts from housekeeping before he came out to talk to us. Really dude? He said that same thing...that we would get whatever this VIP housekeeping was for the rest of our trip. I was not happy. I don't know what I wanted from him actually, I was too upset to think. I told him that I had camera equipment, medications and personal stuff (ipod, kindle, tablet, etc) in my room and not everything fit into the safe so some stuff was sitting out. HIs solution was that I use a safe deposit box. Dude, like I am gonna come here every time I need something and stand in line and wait to get to it....so much park time lost that way! Ugh, I was fuming. He said that they'd move us but seriously, why should we have to pack, leave a room that we loved....area was perfect....just because Mousekeeping didn't know how to lock the dang door?
We had an ADR back at the Plaza but we decided not to keep it. I was too upset. I couldn't think straight. The last thing on my mind was food and honestly, I didn't know if I even wanted to leave the resort.
I sent Jenn, Stef and Mary a text and told them all what happened. We were to meet Stef and Dave back at MK that evening but instead we met them for drinks at the Tambu Lounge. That was fun. Stef showed me some of her wedding pictures while we had drinks. Stef and Dave had an ADR that night at MK so we said our good byes and Joe and I headed back to the resort.
Instead of going directly back to POFQ, we made a short stop at DTD and did some additional shopping. After that, back to the resort we went.
I can honestly say that I was mentally exhausted from the dealings with mousekeeping and ready to call it a night.
As an aside, I wrote a letter to Disney once we got home.
Next up..........Breakfast with Mary and Chuck, meet up with Stef and Dave and MNSSHP with Jenn and her family! Woot! A day filled with Disers~

As always, i love your pictures!
I had never actually noticed that the characters are tethered on the floats. It makes sense, but:confused:
I can't believe mousekeeping did that. Oh wait, yes I can. When we stayed at POR, we had some serious troubles with mousekeeping. I complained and complained and nothing was ever done. It wasn't until the hairdryer actually caught on fire that mousekeeping even started to come into our room (they had not been making our beds...giving us towels...etc.) I am dying to know what VIP means!!

Oh my. i think my head would have spun around Linda Blair style. I hate when hotels screw up and then try to tell you that you are the one in the wrong. So infuriating! We had an incident were a pacifier ended up on our bed. We have no children, and DH kicked his binky habit a few months before. I was so mad, and they basically told me it wasn't a big deal. I was like "you sleep with someone else's baby's germs then"
And seriously what is VIP cleaning? That makes now sense and kind of infers that the rest of us get "lowly peasant" cleaning where they just look at your mess and don't do anything about it :rotfl: Ugh. I'm mad for you!
Wow... that was a crazy person rant. Sorry!

It was so infuriating, especially when I had the chat with the manager. Really dude? You're going to tell me that if I couldn't lock up all my stuff that I should get a lock box? I can't imagine every time I wanted to carry a different lens that I'd have to plan out time to stand in line to go and get it from the front desk. :sad2:
And trust me, this VIP cleaning was ridiculous. I still to this day have no clue what they did differently. And it was just Joe and I and all we really needed were towels because I practically make the dang bed before we leave the room anyway.
OMG, I laughed out loud about your DH kicking his binky habit a few months before. :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Yup. It was really in need of replacing. It rattle and made horrible noices each time I turned it on. Then on the last day before it HAD to be replaced, I was in the middle of using it when dh looks at me and sayd" um...the hair dryer is on fire" Thankfully not shooting sparks or flames..but kinda smoldering inside...with an actual flame. Lots of smoke coming from it too. I quickly shut it off. It totally freaked me out. It was, however the LAST straw and I marched down to the front desk and made a stink. Hmm... we got extra toiletries brought to us but that was about it. Oh...and a brand spanking new hair dryer.

We started day 5 off with what else? Small Potatoes! Woot! That little show or whatever you want to call it is so dang funny. I am trying to get Joe to make the theme song my ring tone on my blackberry. Hee hee....
We had an early ADR for breakfast with Mary and Chuck at Olivia's. None of us had been there in the past so we thought we would give it a try.
Joe and I went over to CSR and picked them up so that we could drive over to OKW together.
No clue why, but we didn't take a picture of the 4 of us. I have no idea what we were thinking!
We made our way over to Olivia's for our 7:30 adr. We were early so we spent some time in their shop. I bought some jewelry while we were there and I know Mary got something as well.

Once Olivia's opened, we were seated pretty quickly...well, right away actually.

Granted, my pancakes were no where near Kona good, but they were ok.
Joe had ths:

For some reason, I don't have pictures of what Chuck and Mary had but if I remember correctly, Mary had the pancakes.
We had our breakfast and the plan after that was to go to Epcot for the rest of the morning/earl afternoon.
I wish we had more time to roam about OKW as I have never been there before.

Great parade pictures, Sophia. What is with people and standing on front of people already there. If it is a child, I have no problem. But when it is an overgrown adult idiot, I mind a LOT.
I remember you telling me about the room door being open all day. I would have been livid too and that manager was not very nice, and something else should have been offered.

We made our way to Epcot. Joe parked in the handicap parking area. It was amazing how many people just stood there and didn't move while we were trying to park.

We did a PP picture. Once I upload them all I will post them.
We rode SSE first. There wasn't a line so we figured why not!

After Soarin we made our way into WS to meet up with Stef and Dave. It was freaking HOT this morning.

I could not believe all of the people that stood in front of us at the parade. And poor Bethany had to shoo away what seemed like 50 people. I don't mind when it is little ones either that want to stand in front of us but you're right, the overgrown adults just tick me off!
I don't know what I expected them to do about the room but dang, I was mad as heck!

I have some PTR stuff to share with you. I decided not to do a Feb PTR and just put details here.
I made up an itinerary and sent it over to E&B to see what they thought. Those lucky ducks are in Maui for the next 2 weeks (I think) right now, by the way.
Anywhoo, here is what I sent over and it was "approved" by the two of them:
Day 1 - arrival day
Check into Pop (yes, Pop) by 1 p.m
Head to MK
Lunch at Pecos Bills
Adventureland
Parade at 3
Frontierland
Liberty Square
Fantasyland
Dinner at Columbia Harbour
Tomorrowland
MEP
Wishes
Yeah, it's a loaded day. I didn't want to get too specific in rides/attractions, just wanted to have a plan of action so to speak.
Day 2
Breakfast at Kona 7:30 a.m.
Epcot - FW
SSE
Living Seas
Lunch in WS at a CS
WS - as much as we can see
Dinner at Biergarten
Illuminations
EMH that night
TT
M:S
Innoventions
Day 3
Breakfast at Mara at AKL
DAK Day
E&B to set the itin for this day -- they love this park!
I suggested FTBBQ for lunch
I really, really want to see Jammin Jungle and will be happy if I get to
Dinner at Fulton's
DTD at night
Day 4
Breakfast is open
Not sure if E&B are going to DAK again or if they are coming with us to Epcot
If Joe and I do EPCOT, we will do Sunshine for breakfast
Finish what we missed at Epcot
Go to MK at lunch time
CS at MK for lunch
Dinner at Wave with E&B
Day 4 is kind of open. I think it will depend on how much we get done at DAK. E&B really love this park. They were at Disney a few years ago and really fell in love with the park.
Day 5
Early breakfast at Kouzzina - yummy!
Rope drop at DHS
FP for TSMM
Beauty and the Beast show (if it's at 10)
ToT
RnRC
Art of Animation
VOLM
Go back to TSMM if FP time is here
One Man's Dream
Parade
Muppets
Star Wars
Mama Melrose for dinner
Star Wars again
There is no Fantasmic showing during our trip at all. How sucky is that?! :scared1:
Day 6
E&B are taking a flight home at around noon or so. Joe and I are taking the 7 p.m. flight home. Right now our plan is to have breakfast at the Main Street Bakery at Magic Kingdom. We will spend the morning there and do all of our favorites over again. The last thing we do when leaving MK is Philharmagic. We then go to the Sweet shop and get me a caramel apple with nuts to enjoy on my sofa the night we get home.
We will likely go to DHS or EPCOT after MK as those are the two easiest parks to get out of. We will then head to the airport for our flight back.
So, there you have it. A quick trip to the world in February. SInce the weather is just about perfect for us that time of the year, Joe and I are looking forward to seeing as much as we possibly can without melting like we do in September.
Thoughts? Suggestions on stuff not to miss?

I have to say I am shocked that the hotel didn't do more for you. When we were there a few years ago and staying at AKL I requested a Savannah room near an elevator. (since my Dad was having problems walking lots)
We got to the room and it was NO WHERE near an elevator, and apparently "Savannah view" really means "pool view" :confused3
I was PISSED. So I called down to the front desk to complain... In my defense, I was spending LOTS of money for a Savannah view! Last thing I wanted to see was tourists in their swimmy suits.:scared1: Not to mention the animals we had outside our rooms were birds. Really loud annoying birds.... (Synndy fact= I am NOT a fan of birds). I was pumped for some giraffes or at least a zebra... no... BIRDS.:headache: I called down to the front desk and the girl I was talking to had me on hold while she found out about switching our room. While on the hold my Dad (who we surprised with the trip) was in awe of the room, he said it was amazing and didn't want to switch. I explained the room would be the same layout, just a better view. He refused and was just SO amazed. When she came back on and offered a switch, I apologized but said we were keeping the room but thanked her for all her help. She apologized again for it being not what we had wanted and all was well.
Fast forward to about 15 minutes later we were almost done unpacking all of our things and in walks some random family. Keys and all. They had just checked in & were told it was their room.... ummm.... Even though it was a 2 bedroom, there was NO way we were sharing, lol
I went down to the front desk and was VERY unhappy (my head was messed up from the plane ride since only one ear popped, I was tired, and the room view sucked.) This was my final straw. I asked to speak with the hotel manager and I explained to him all the things that had happened. He pulled up our reservation info and saw that none of our requests were met. He apologized and offered us a room move. I said no thank you but we were all settled in. He then apologized again and offered us a $200 dollar Disney gift certificate to get dinner or "buy us some good memories"
Needless to say it pacified me and we had free Disney money :woohoo:
I can't imagine what I would have gotten if our door had been open all day. :rolleyes1
It makes me not want to stay at PO.

We are thinking about going back to WDW next Sept/Oct and trying POR and now not so sure. I really liked the comphy queen beds at CSR, how were the beds where you stayed?
:welcome:
The beds were nice at POFQ. We did love the work that they have done on all of the rooms. I wouldn't let our mousekeeping experience detour you from trying PO. We had a king room but we were able to see the queen room too (our friends were staying in one).
Catching up after our trip!
Love, love, love your parade pictures!
I can’t believe mousekeeping left the door open!!!! I would have been fuming too!!!
Your February trip plans look great!
Hi! I am going to sub to your TR. I can't wait to read all about your trip!

When I last left you, yeah, I know, it's been forever.......
Anywho, Joe and I had plans to meet Jenn for dinner at CP before MNSSHP. I couldn't wait! First, we went back POFQ for a bit of down time and a lot of laundry!
We quickly met up with Jenn before we made our way to the park. Jenn brought us the awesome shirts that she had made us for the party. We rocked in our shirts that night!!!!
We made our way to MK to meet up with Jenn and her family for dinner at CP. If I remember correctly there were a billion and 50 people waiting to be seated when we got there, Well, maybe not that many but you get my drift.
We had a great table by the window and sort of out of the way, which I liked because it can get crowded in there.
Here are a few pics from dinner.

There was a bit of character hugging going on and let's just say that Piglet had to go back to Hundred Acre Woods and get cleaned up.....apparently he got a bit too close to Jack's hair gel. :rolleyes1

After we cured the rumbly in our tumblies we left CP and headed for Adventureland. What I can't remember is if we stopped for a Dole Whip. Joe cannot walk past one without stopping!
We made our way over to PotC.

Once we left PotC, if memory serves, we started our trick or treat adventure. You would not have believed the lines we saw to meet the 7 dudes while we were trick or treating near Splash.
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh157/scyoungbauer/Disney%20Sept%202011%20-%20Part%205/DisneySept20112566.jpg
And by the way, there were multiple candy stations near Spash! Score! And, they were giving out the good stuff unless you were Joe...then you "got a rock." LOL! He got the craptastic candy so we in took turns laughing at him.
We saw this guy and let me tell ya, he was waaaayyy too close for comfort. I had one chase me down my driveway once but that is a story in itself.

I think we rode BTMRR before continuing on, but I can't remember exactly.
Next stop was HM and we went through the grave yard for the first time.

After HM we did a bit more trick or treating. Everyone was super thirsty so we stopped in Pinocchios only to find it closed. They were kind enough to let us use the rest room though.
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh157/scyoungbauer/Disney%20Sept%202011%20-%20Part%205/DisneySept2011476.jpg
It took freaking forever to find drinks. What's up with that? Nearly everything closes during MNSSHP and it is next to impossible to find anything to drink.
I have no clue what rides and attractions we did after that but I do remember that the candy adventure continued. I think we all rode Buzz too before finding a spot for Hallowishes. I have a ton of pictres of Hallowishes so I will apologize in advance.

If memory serves me right, we slept in a bit on Day 6. Honestly, I can't remember. I know, I should have taken notes.
I do remember though watching Small Potatoes and checking out our trick or treat loot from the night before.

We were meeting Jenn at Sci-Fi for an early lunch. Our ADR was around 11. Jenn had gone earlier to DHS so that she could register Jack for the Star Wars Training Academy so we met at Sci Fi right at 11.
We were seated pretty quickly. Joe and I had not been to Sci Fi in years and years. I don't remember the food being all that but the atmosphere is awesome. Actually, the food this time was pretty good too.

After Star Tours, we made our way to Indiana Jones. I have not seen that show in so long that I can't even remember when the last time we saw it was. OMG, the people they picked out of the audience were hilarious. Joe spotted the "plant" immediately...by his super, duper white tennies. LOL.
After the show, I think Joe and I called it a day and headed back to the resort for a bit. We were so miserable that I think that was when we decided that we'd probably not be back to Disney in September for more than a few days again due to the heat. It was absolutely horrible.
From what I remember, we had dinner at the resort that night. It must not have been memorable because I have no pictures. :confused3
I remember taking a walk that evening and taking a few pictures of the resort at night.

We got up a bit early and got to see Small Potatoes again. Yay!
We headed back to DHS again, this time we were meeting Stef and Dave.

Dave and I had a nice chat while we waited for Joe and Stef. Once they finished, we went over to RnRC. I sat that one out too.

We did however go into the Muppet Store.

Photos feast!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love all the photos, Sophia, just what I needed right now (have been correcting English tests all day :scared1:)
Tell me about the heat in August and September, but it's the only time we can go away for a longer period of time, so we have to deal with it.
I DON'T blame you for calling it a day early, sometimes it just gets overwhelming with the heat and all. ;)
Keep the photos coming - I still have 5 more tests to correct!

Great photos of the Studios. I cracked up over Joe and Dave with the hats. Love hte pic of all of you at SCi-Fi.
It WAS really hot this September. It doesn't usually bother us, but it sure seemed hotter than usual. Unfortuantely, we don't have a lot of options of dates in October with Mark's work schedule so we are pretty much stuck with September.

I couldn't believe how hot and humid it was in September. We've been early-ish before and its never been that humid. But I agree with you, next time will be towards the end of and more October :)

It looks like you had a great time at MNSSHP! Your HalloWishes pics are fabulous!
Sorry it was so hot!! I can't do any month between mid Mid to October at WDW! It's just too hot for my northern blood! The beginning of May was almost to hot this past year! I'm glad you got to rest and cool down though! that's what vacation is about!

That night was so fun, but felt MUCH different than years past :( Idk about you guys, but I felt like we got nothing done and paid a crazy amount for just some candy...candy which has since been tossed :/
Really crossing my fingers for that Feb 2013 trip with you guys!

Just got caught up on your trip report. I love all the great pics. We love Sci Fi and it is hard to get good pics in there since it is dark, your camera did great. Did the kids like the Jedi training? I wonder if Darth Vader was scary to some of the young children?

The heat was just ridiculous this year. We have gone for our anniversary just about every year since we got married but sheesh, the heat this time was awful.

Jack loved Jedi training. It didn't seem like any of the kids were afraid of Vader though. They all seemed to be enjoying themselves.

Wow - after reading your PTR, I finally thought to look for your trip report (and Jenn's) just last week. Oops! I'm all caught up now. Sounds fun other than the heat! And mousekeeping!
We're actually thinking of being at Disney the exact dates you mentioned in February! It's the week between my birthday and my daughter's, so I thought it would be the best week to go. Plus it won't be hot. :)

Hello there! Remember me? :guilty:
I have the week off....well technically I do, but I am working a bit from home as well.
Anywho, I figured that I really needed to get back to the DIS and to my subscribed threads. I started to catch up this morning and thought I'd do an update or two or ten here too.
New Year's News
Woot! I an sooooooo excited. Jenn and her family are coming for a visit this week and they will be here for New Year's. I cannot wait to see them. I hate that we live so dang far away. If we didn't, I'd be invading her space on a daily basis. :lmao:
February Trip News
I am bummed...totally bummed. Our friends E&B cannot go to Disney in February due to work commitments. :sad2: Joe and I have non-refundable airline tickets so we will be going. I was so bummed out that I didn't even change any adr's until recently. I have to cancel their ressie too and I just can't get myself to do it...but I have to.
Soooo, I am now replanning our Feb trip. It is going to be really, really odd since Joe and I have not been to Disney alone in years.
Me News
Well, it is official. I MUST go on a diet and pronto. Thanks to my legs going numb when I am on my feet too long, I have not been able to exercise at all...and I mean at all. I am challenging myself in the new year to work on a new, healthier me. While I cannot change the fact that I have arthritis in my spine, I can work on a healthier me in 2012.
I am uploading pics now of Christmas that I wanted to share as part of my "life update." Once that's done, I'm back to my TR!
To those of you still with me....thanks bunches. :grouphug::flower3:

Before I get on with my TR, I'd like to share some Christmas pictures with everyone. As usual, our decoration was Disney themed again this year.
I was so happy that my brother came home for Christmas, but he didn't stay long enough this time. He wasn't able to come over Thanksgiving so we were sort of hoping he could stay a while this trip. One good thing though is the Southwest is going to have service home from his airport soon so maybe he will be able to come home more often.

I'm sorry your friends cannot go with you to Disney...I know you were looking forward to it. But you and Joe will have a great time just the two of you; Mark and I have had some great trips just the two of us.
Sorry about the health thing with the arthritis, but hopefully better eating will help with the situation with your legs.
I love all of your Christmas decorations and glad your brother got to come home. Sorry it wasn't for a very long visit (that was our situation with Markie...home at 6 p.m. on Christmas, left to go back home the next day at 2 p.m.). :sad2:

According to my pictures, after we let the Muppets we considered meeting Phineas and Ferb. Honestly, that was on my must do list before we left for Florida but after seeing the line....no way. I am hoping that they will be there in Feb and that we can meet them then.
I did snap a few pics though

After leaving the Writer's Shop, we went over to the Art of Animation. We looked around before getting in line to draw a character. OMG, I can't even remember who we drew. That's sad, isn't it?

We waited under the umbrella tables but got soaking wet anyway. After it let up, we made our way to see Beauty and the Beast. I absolutely love this show and never, ever get sick of seeing it. I drive my family crazy insisting that we see it every time we are at DHS.

We had an ADR with the Fantasmic package at Mama Melrose that evening. The restaurant was packed to say the least. I mean, super, duper packed. We waited what seemed like forever for our table. I think everyone just piled in early due to the rain or something. We were getting a bit frustrated with the crowd.
Once we were seated the service was a bit slow, from what I remembered. It seems that every time I go there, I get the same thing, but that was okay with me because I enjoyed it. If I remember correctly, I think we all enjoyed our meals there....Stef and Dave, correct me if I am wrong. :)

What I can't remember is if anyone rode ToT or RNRC before we entered the theater. I can remember this though.....it was POURING...when I say POURING, I mean like holy crap pouring. Somewhere along the way I also got run over by a stroller. I can't even remember when or where but it was somwhere along the way.
Stef and I got drenched as the guys went to get us ponchos. Yes, I had 50 back at the room but what good were they gonna do me now. :lmao:
We had planned to get those little dessert trays for F! however with the rain, all of our plans went out the window. We were just hoping that the show would go on.
The show did go on but I wasn't able to get one single picture due to the rain. Ugh, I was so bummed.
After Fantasmic we headed back to the car and dropped Stef and Dave off at the Poly. We were happy that we were able to spend the day with them, even if the weather was not so nice.

Sophia, you are an updating machine today (I no sooner respond to one post, and there's another one up :lmao::lmao::lmao:).
I'm with you...I love Beauty & The Beast and I'm determined to see it with the girls next month as I've missed it the last two visits (not enough time at the Studios).
I think you are probably right...the rain brought the people to Mama Melrose earlier than they should have been there.
I'm so sorry about all the rain, but glad you had a great day with Stefy and Dave.

My oh my .............. all those updates. You are spoiling me! :goodvibes
I love the Christmas updates, and had to  when I read about your kitties. Ours is trying to bite off as many twigs as she can - she is getting good at it. Needless to say there are loads of needles on the floor. She has also tried to climb up the tree, but is a little to "big" for it. :rotfl2:
All those family pics are wonderful - I love to see all of your family again.
So sorry to hear that your friends are not going to make it to WDW. :sad2:
Your WDW updates are wonderful ..... they really get me in the mood
a) for updates
and
b) for our February trip! :thumbsup2

I love all the updates! And the best part? They came when I was getting caught up, so I am not behind and didn't miss them!!! :woohoo:
Your Christmas photos are beautiful! How nice to spend that time with your family.
I am sorry your friends can no longer go on the trip. I think sharing the joy and magic of Disney with other people help to make your trip just that much better.
I hear you on losing weight. This has not been an easy year for me... gained more weight than I wanted to before the trip and then some more during it. Needless to say... some weight has to come off or I will be at that point where it becomes harder and harder to take it off very soon. Course... all those yummy gummies and jelly beans that we brought back are calling to me... not to mention all the pies I made for Christmas and the leftovers from dinner itself.
BATB is something I have to do each and every trip. I am not sure why as it is not the most elaborate show, but it is something that causes an emotional stirring in me every time I watch the show.
I saw "One man's dream" for the first time this trip and LOVED it. Sadly, I did not make it to the animation studio. Someday, I hope to.
And... like you, I hoped to meet Phin and Ferb...but the line was horrific. again...someday. :goodvibes:goodvibes

Happy New Year!!!
Looks like you had a wonderful Christmas celebration with the family, look at all that yummy food :teeth:
Man that rain was a downer, was funny though that we thought those umbrellas would keep us all nice and dry  Didn't we have a curious squirrel come over to us too? We had a great day at DHS with you guys, despite the rain, was our first ever Fantasmic too and we loved it :teeth:

Your Christmas decorations are all fabulous! I love the houses!
It sounds like a lovely rest of the day in DHS! I think Mama Melrose is always crowded on Fantasmic days! DH and I dined there last month and we weren't even going to Fantasmic that night, it was CRAZY busy and people were getting very cranky!
Boo to all the rain! Glad it didn't ruin your fun!

Love your updates! Your tree was beautiful, love the Belle ornament! I need one of those for my tree! I buy a Disney ornament each time I visit WDW, and when I visit the Disney store in Columbus at Christmas time. Your pics of the Beauty and the Beast show are great too! Thanks for sharing.

Well, I have been away for sooooo long that I am actually surprised that my thread is still open.
I'm stuck at home today (for medical reasons) so I figured I would get back on the DIS and attempt to finish my TR from last Sept. and try to catch up on some of my subscribed threads...or at least start to catch up!
We've actually been to WDW since our Sept trip and at the end of this TR, I will probably add pictures from that trip as well.
I am hoping that some of you may still be out there,,,,,,,,,,,

I'm searching my memory for the happenings of Day 8. Looking at my pictures it seems as though we started our morning with breakfast at Kouzzina.
We drove over and parked at The Boardwalk. This resort is lovely in the morning. I love the walk from the car.

We were a little learly for our ADR that morning. I remember Kouzzina being relatively empty, which was fine for me. I have to say that I love this place. Truly, love it. The waffles there are amazing as is everything else that we've ever had there.

After breakfast we walked into the sweet shop next to Kouzzina. You can get there without going outside. We made giant pixie sticks for my friend Tami's kids. We should have realized though when we didn't see anyone there that the shop wasn't even open! Ugh, we had taken our time making these things and could not even purchase them. I was bummed. The CM's at Kouzzina couldn't take payment so we left our creations there and made our way to DAK.

So I know that we left DAK after KS, but I have no clue what we did for the rest of the day. :scared1:
Ugh, I can kick myself for not taking notes during this part of our trip!!
Moving on to Day 9...........
Day 9 was our girls day/guys day with Stef and Dave.
We started off with breakfast at Kona.
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh157/scyoungbauer/Disney%20Sept%202011%20-%20Part%209/DisneySept20111242.jpg
The guys went to EPCOT and Stef and I headed to DTD. The guys dropped us off and went ahead and parked at EPCOT since we were going to end our day there together.
I was really looking forward to spending the day with Stef. Joe and I have never really spent more than an hour or so apart when we are at WDW.
Stef and I shopped at a number of places at DTD.
http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh157/scyoungbauer/Disney%20Sept%202011%20-%20Part%209/DisneySept20111256.jpg
I finally was able to get my pearl cage there too. I opted for the carraige which I love, love, love.
We also made a bunch of goodies at Goofy's. It was too funny though because we didn't realize that each order came in three's.

After Stef and I shopped for a bit, which included several other stops, we got a cab and headed to the the Grand Floridian for tea.
It was easy to get a cab and honestly, I couldn't imagine what it would have been like waiting for a bus in the heat.
I had never been to tea at GF so I was excited that Stef suggested we make a ressie and try it out. The room was beautiful.

I really enjoyed tea with Stef. We had a great time chatting and sampling all of the goodies.
After tea, our plan was to head over to MK for a bit before meeting the guys at EPCOT.
Stef suggested that we drop our packages at the Poly in her room. That was really good thinking since we had so much chocolate! We took the monorail over to the Poly then hopped back on and made our way to MK.
I can't believe that I don't have pictures from MK! I do know though that we had a great time shopping! Stef and I went to the jewelry store on Main Street and picked out some awesome Camilia beads. That was so much fun.
We spent a bit more time at MKk before heading over to meet the guys. I am bummed though that I don't have more picutres to share of our time at MK.

We went in September once and it was HOT! I can imagine only staying in AK for 3 hours... that place seems to always be the hottest of the parks.
We went to the GF tea room on our last trip. What fun! My swan had cranberry cream in it. What was in yours?

Stef and I took the monorail over to EPCOT to meet our husbands. I love taking the monorail. I don't get to do it often since we usually drive everywhere we go.
We met the guys over in WS. They had a fun day drinking around the world. They sure had some interesting stories to tell us as well.:chat:

We drove back to the Poly and Dave brought my packages to me. We had such a wonderful day. I was so glad that I was able to spend time with Stef to get to know her a little better. I really, really enjoyed my day!

I can't believe how fast this trip flew by. We were already at day 10 of 12.
Joe and I were looking forward to day 10 since our friends from home were making their first trip to the world and we got to spend the day with them. My friend Tami and I work together. When she said that she was planning a trip to Disney, I was so excited to be sharing with her my experiences to assist her in their planning.
That morning we met at the POR, where she was staying. Her daughter, who I will refer to as "Diva" because she is def one, had an appointment at BBB at DTD. I was thrilled to be able to attend. I had always wanted to see what it was like!
We both had cars so they followed us to DTD. We had breakfast at EOS that morning.

After breakfast we walked around a bit while we waited for Diva's appointment.,

After the appointment, we walked over to get her portraits done. Take a look at this picture. It's probably one of the favorites of this trip for me.

I couldn't wait to see the kids' faces when we got to MK. I think I was just as excited to see their faces as they were to get there.

The kids decided that they wanted to take the Ferryboat over. Someone also decided that she didn't want to wear her dress. LOL
