View Full Version : Wasn't thrilled at vegetarian choices

Just got back from a weekend at US and IOA, but I wasn't thrilled at the vegetarian choices out there. I'm a new vegetarian, though, so maybe I was hoping for something that just doesn't exist. I don't really have much to compare it to.

The places I looked at, though, didn't have veggie burgers. There was always pizza, cheese or vegetarian, and that's what I ate both days. In IOA, the pasta place had fettucini alfredo, but all the other pastas had meat (spaghetti with meatballs, lasagna, etc.). I was hoping for tortellini or ravioli or pasta and marinara or something.

Oh, and there was some stir-fried Chinese vegetables somewhere in Universal Studios. And garden salads, there were those.

I was hoping for baked potatos, like they have at WDW. Also, WDW seemed to have veggie burgers available frequently. And like I mentioned above, I was hoping for some cheese-based or tomato-based meatless pastas -- I don't really like the heavy cream sauces. Oh, and some sort of ethnic food would have been wonderful -- hummus sandwiches, or falafels, or something like that. But I definitely wasn't expecting that. It just would have been nice.

(I didn't try the sit-down restaurants.)

Bob Marley's at Citywalk had some great veggie items! You are right--in the parks there wasn't a whole lot though. <IMG WIDTH="15" HEIGHT="15" SRC="/infopop/emoticons/icon_razz.gif" alt="razz">
