Can one person order this for an appetizer while on the deluxe dining plan?

For the vast majority (and maybe all) of the "For 2" entrees, apps and desserts, you would need at least 2 people using their appetizer entitlement to order it.

You can ask and see what they can do, but I wouldn't count on it.

I was not allowed to at Coral Reef, Le Cellier, Yak & Yeti, 50's Prime Time, Marrakesh, Tutto Italia, Tony's or Turf Club. There is also a dessert sampler at Grand Floridian Hotel that I was not allowed to order solo.

I was allowed to order appetizers for two at Rose & Crown, Mama Melrose, and 50's Prime Time though.

This reflects our experience...most places, we found the server actually spelled it out up front: pointing out exactly which items would require two people's credits (including desserts, apps and even some entrees for 2. The new Hacienda restauranta in Mexico/Epcot has some entree platters that require two people's credits to order.)

Doesn't hurt to ask, though, if they don't tell you up front. And sometimes, it appears to depend on the server you get. We've been to Raglan Road several times--hubby and I like to get the Dalky Duo, which is a "for two" appetizer. No one ever suggested we should pick a 2nd app, until this last time we were there (March 2011), hubby ordered that Dalky Duo, and then the server turns to me and says "and what would you like"...when I said "he ordered the Duo for two, so that's my app too" she said something like "well you're on the deluxe plan so you can each order any appetizer you like on the menu." When I doubted that it would ring up correctly, she replied she'd been working there for years and it always works that way on the dining plan. Well, we didn't order an extra app, anyway, because that's a huge, filling appetizer. But just saying, some servers seem to interpret things their own way.:rolleyes1

Now see, we've had the opposite at Raglan Road.:rotfl::rotfl: We were told that it required two of us to order the Dalky Duo or we couldn't get it. This was this past May. I'd forgotten about that one. I think you are right: that it depends on the waiter.:rotfl:

It must. On our last visit to Raglan Road we were told that "for two" appetizers are excluded from the DxDDP entirely, even with two people wanting to order one. :confused3
