Based on info gathered here, thanks DancingBear & TammiMcMan,
we're planning our first night in WDW in Nov. as a Grand Tour of the MK resorts, none of which we've visited. My idea is to find a place at each to have a malted beverage, probably hitting Gasparilla's to view the fireworks and then on to the Poly for the Electrical Water Pageant. Any suggestions as to a nice pub in each resort so soak up the atmosphere (and foam)?

California Grill (CR) has a bar. Not a bad place to have a drink and watch the fireworks.

There is a bar at Narcoossee's at the GF. There is also a deck along the front of the restaurant that is great for fireworks viewing. Not sure about the Polynesian. The only bar is the Tambu Lounge adjacent to O'Hana. Nice place for a tropical drink, if you like those. :)

I second that! :) I love the Tradewinds, too. More like dessert than a drink. Just what I like! ;)

Sounds fun and relaxing Bill. The lounge at Poly is right next to O'Hana, at Contemp it's just across from Chef Mickey's and the Concourse Steak House ("the Outer Rim" I believe). I have stayed at the GF, but the location of the lounge escapes me. I think it's a great plan to unwind from a travel day as you can enjoy a beer, stroll around the grounds a bit, and catch the monorail to the next resort. When you're really ready to party, try to "drink around the world" at Epcot. No EE the following morning though:smooth:

One of my absolute favorite things to do in DisneyWorld is what you are planning. In fact, it is the memory I think of most. Resort-hopping can even be considered more fun than a theme park. Well, that's just me...the brewskies sound like an added bonus. If it's a pleasant night, the beach at the Poly is a wonderful place to sit your body down and drink your drink of choice while viewing the Electric Water Pageant, and, sometimes fireworks.

Oh, how I wish I could do it too...have a great time;)
