Hello, I'd like to introduce myself & the rest of the crew. First is me, Doris AKA Wicket's Mom, then my Disney resistor DH, Bob. Next is my DIL Anne & our GDs Emily 8 & Kelly 5. This was the girls first visit to WDW. The dates of our trip were Sept.6 thru Sept.12 with our DIL & GDs going home Sept.10.
http://i1186.photobucket.com/albums/z366/wicketsmom/Disney%20Photos/Disney2011021.jpg

I had been planning to take my GDs on their first trip to WDW since our last trip in 2009. I wanted to share my love of Disney with them & see the look on their faces when they took it all in.

The week previous to our departure were extremely busy to say the least. My DH & I are involved in historical activities, including a huge event known as The Fair at New Boston. I have a large level of responsibility, so we must attend all weekend. I was really bogged down with responsibilites.

Labor Day was spent putting away our camp clothing & tent. I also had to finish with the packing for our trip & do the last minute details that have to be done before traveling. Our flight was leaving at 6:50AM on Tuesday .

Here is a photo of one of my usual outfits for the Fair. I have quite a few gowns, etc. for the historical interpretations that I do.

Our DIL & the GDs were flying into MCO from Tulsa. Their flight didn't get in until around noon. We were to meet up at Teppan Edo for our 5:00 ADR.

We landed at MCO at 9:30AM. Off we went to find our way to the ME waiting area. After a short wait our ME bus arrived to transport us to the Caribbean Beach Resort, our home for the coming week. There was around 10 passengers on our ME. That was a good sign as to how the crowds would be!:cool1:

I had checked in online & was pleasently suprised to learn that our room was ready! There was a little glitch however. They had put my party in adjoining rooms, uhoh, I specifically told the reservationist not to do that. I wanted to be close, not that close. No problem, we were put across the patio from DIL & GDs. We were in Barbados 1628, first floor!

We had a time crunch as we had to be in DTD at 11:30. We were in a rush, so we wanted to drop things in the room & leave. Our KTTW didn't work, back to the check in to get it fixed. We got a new key, which didn't work either!

Contiued from above!

An engineer from Mousekeeping was sent to the room & decided that we needed a lock repair. We were sent on our way with assurances that th elock would work on our return.

So the two of us headed to DTD for a very special lunch! There was to be our very first Dismeet :rolleyes1

This was the begining of our many firsts on this trip!

Bob didn't say too much about it, so I was hoping for the best!:wizard:

We arrived at the reataurant a little early, so we ordered & got a table outside on the covered patio. I kept watching for our fellow Dis. They arrived a few minute's later. Her they are ------:cheer2:

As you can see by the photo, Bob was happy. He realy enjoyed meeting Tom & Karin. He's not the most social person with someone that he has just met, but he was very congenial. My resistor was actually enjoying our first Dismeet.

How wonderful to have Karin and Tom as your first Dismeet folks! I have not met them but from reading Karin's reports I certainly would like to meet them. Anyone who loves Disney and sharing their trips as much as Karin and Tom must be fun to meet with and share a meal. We also like WPE very much. I ate there solo during our last trip while Sarah (our daughter) and Rob (my spouse) were at the water parks and then I dragged them back the next night for a family dinner. It was not hard to drag them back once they tasted my leftovers. ;)

It's really easy to multiquote. See the little box next to the quote box...the one iwth a little peice of paper on it. Mover your mouse over it and it will say multi quite. Just click it on the posts you want to comment on, when you are ready , then just hit reply and all the quotes you wanted to comment on will be there waiting for you. Just reply to each persons post which will begin and end wit hteh world Quote.

This was the begining of our many firsts on this trip!

I wonder if that was the room we were to tour. I forget which section we went to, but we had a key to a first floor room and it didn't work. Our leader got a mousekeeper and he said the battery was dead and they had to fix it or put a new thing on or something like that. They weren't supposed to be booking that room. But they accidently gave us that room to tour. The curtain were open, so al lwe got to do was take a peak inside that way.

Before we were to have our Dismeet, I was a bit worried how Bob was going to feel about meeting total strangers, especially peole that I met on he internet! So didn't tell him about the meet until we were riding the ME to CBR. After we sat down & after we spotted Tom & Karin a waitress came up to us. She told us that we were going to be eating with her favorite people! That was so sweet of her, she really liked Tom & Karin!;)

Bob ordered the Roast Chicken with Rosemary & Garlic mashed potatoes. I had the Harvest Pizza. The Pizza was vegetarian with broclitini, squash & mozzerella cheese. Bob had an adult beverage, Bud Lite, & I had Sprite. Our desserts were Chocolate for Bob & Creme Brulee cheesecake for me.

The pizza was terrific, as you can see, I started eating before I remembered to take photos. I usually don't eat very much, but I ate 3/4ths of the pizza & Bob ate all of his meal!

WPE was out of Creme Brulee so I tried the Creme Brulee cheesecake. I didn't really care for it. I guess I will have to make a return visit to WPE to get Creme Brulee.

Karin ordered her favorite pizza & I don't remember what Tom had ordered. You will just have to read her TTRs to find that out! :rotfl2:

We sat for awhile chatted & got to know one another. We had to leave soon to meet up with our DIL. We figured that they should be at WDW by then. So Karin & Tom gave us a ride in the rental convertible to CBR. Of course they put the top down which was lots of fun. Our Dismeet was all too short, maybe another with Tom & Karin will be in a future visit to WDW.

Karin gave me a gift that was so nice, also totally unexpected. I will certainly put it to ghttp://i1186.photobucket.com/albums/z366/wicketsmom/GiftfromKarinTom003.jpgood use. I especially like the Mickey pants tissue holder.

I called my DIL to catch up with them & to plan the rest of the day. They had hit the ground running sincce check in. They were at the MK about to ride the Jungle Cruise. They had already ridden SM & climbed the SFR Treehouse. We decided to meet at Teppan Edo in Epcot for our 5:00 ADR.

We stayed at CBR to unpack & just chill for awhile. We had been up since 3:30am because of our early flight.

A couple of hours later we left for Epcot. After a mad dash to the WS we arrived a couple of minutes late. After a short wait we were seated. We shared our table with another couple about my age.
http://i1186.photobucket.com/albums/z366/wicketsmom/Disney2011005.jpg
I ordered the filet, Bob the scallops, DIL the sword fish, Emily the chicken & Kelly the chicken. We had the menu covered.LOL Bob had his Budweiser & I went for the Kirin Beer.

Our chef was pretty funny & she did a good job catching the shrimp & making the volcano. She had a thick accent , so was a little hard to understand.

The girls enjoyed their dinner & love the chef's antics. They had never had a meal like this. Bob was the one that really had a great time. He got to eat all of the leftovers. That way he got to sample most of the menu offerings! :lmao: He did declare that his scallops were his favorite & the most tasty! My filet was meh, a tad overcooked, just not as good as my first TE visit.
http://i1186.photobucket.com/albums/z366/wicketsmom/Disney2011007.jpg
It was getting late when we left TE, so we hurried to do a couple of rides. We did TT, but then DIL decided that they needed to get the GDs to bed since we will be doing EMH in the morning.

Bob & I decided to ride Soarin' before we called it a night. The crowd levels so far were pretty low, so a short wait for Soarin'.

Our DIL, Anne was a commando tourer. She didn't know if the kids would ever get to come again, so she made sure that everything was going to be ridden! In short order we rode EE, Triceratops, Dinosaur, & the Rapids! We finished up at the Big Dig. The girls were troopers about riding. EE scared them a little, but Emily said that she didn't want to ride it again! I sat out EE because of my bones, which are not the best. I took the kids on all of the rides that went around in circles. Bob & Anne can't handle any of those. LOL

It was now around 11:30 & everyone was hungry. It was decided that we would go to Beastly Bazaar to pick up some Picnicin the Park food. The Picnic consisted of a sandwich, chips, dessert & bottle of water. You got a nice green tote bag to carry it in. The bags are no longer labeled Picnic in the Park which was a bummer.

I had a ham sandwich, Bob had beef & the rest had chicken. I also had the carrot cake, Bob, the brownie, as did Anne. The girls had the krispie treat, which is enormous! We found a very nice eating area by the lake. We had it all to ourselves which was very nice.

After spending th emorning at the AK, we decided to visit the CBR's main pool.
http://i1186.photobucket.com/albums/z366/wicketsmom/Disney2011045.jpg
It was time for the 2:00 pool party which was held daily. The first thing that we did was to play Bingo. We were showered with Pixie Dust as Anne, me & Kelly all hit a bingo!
http://i1186.photobucket.com/albums/z366/wicketsmom/Disney2011046.jpg
Next the girls entered a dance contest. Kelly was one of the last three left standing.

We were having such a great time & the girls really love the water. There were several more games that were played. If you are planning a stay at CBR be sure to do at least one Pool Party. The CMs really know how to encourage everyone to play along.

The pool was not very crowded which made for lots of fun & not many obnoxious children running around! It was a shame that the girls didn't get back to pool again during their stay. Anne was an Uber Commando touring those parks!:rotfl2: She wanted to make sure that every ride was ridden. She dosen't know when or if they will be back. She sure would like me to buy into DVC since it can be passed on! :thumbsup2

We had to leave the pool area as we had 5:00 ADRs for Chef Mickey's.

I will have to post later in the week as we leave in the morning for the Smoky Mountains. Going to Gatlinburg & see some leaves, also chill out & of course shop at the outlets!!:cool1:

If anyone wants to see those photos, just ask & I will do a mini TR.

I would definitely LOVE to see those photos and read the mini trip report, Doris!

I loved to see the cooking demo you did! How much work went into those dishes! It's a shame we don't really remember how labour intensive those days were!

Guess what ....... we have stayed at CBR and NEVER knew about the pool party! :goodvibes Well, you never stop learning new things at WDW!

Enjoy your trip and travel safely!

I guess I will have to write about our trip to the Smokies!

It was alot of work, but I really enjoy doing it. It takes planning so that know which pots to take & the utensils. Most of my cooking things are antiques.
The pool party may have been something done in Sept.

Well, I just got back from our trip to Gatlinburg. It was a very relaxing trip & the leaves were in full color in the lower elevations.

After our late afternoon arrival we stopped for dinner at Bubba Gump's. This was a first for us at this restaurant. I ordered the the Shrimp Heaven & it lived up to it's name! Bob ordered the Coconut Shrimp & a beer. I too, had an adult beverage, Mama's Blue Hawaiian. I can't get the pictures from my phone because I don't know how to do it. It's an Iphone & I got it about 3 weeks ago.

As I said the views were beautiful.

The evening was spent walking around the town. We bought candy at the Smoky Mountain Candy store. They have the best chocolate.

We spent the days driving through the park & admiring the views. The nights were spent shopping & dining out! Gotta love that!

This is one of the arms that had to be given up to make the Smoky Mountain National Park. It is on the Roaring Fork Nature Trail.

Bob pretending to deface a sign. The sign said Bob Was Here, then went on to say not to deface any of the buildings, etc. as this spoils everthing. So we had to have fun with it. No disrespect intended!:rolleyes1http://i1186.photobucket.com/albums/z366/wicketsmom/Gatlingburg2011018.jpg

Another view on the trail. It was so nice, but I wasn't kidding about the bears. It seems that they are showing up all over the place. One was on this trail the day after we were there. A few days before our visit a bear had broken into one of the candy stores in downtown Gatlinburg & helped himself to candy. The workers found him sitting on the counter eating candy!!:confused3 We didn't see any bears this trip, just turkeys & deer.
http://i1186.photobucket.com/albums/z366/wicketsmom/Gatlingburg2011039.jpg
We were there for three nights & the weather was warm & sunny until our last day. It rained for our trip home. One last view.

Bubba's was very good, we were seated on a balcony over the street. A great place to people watch. We went there because of Karin & Tom's reviews. Also, we found a Krispy Kreme shop & bought fresh hot KK's! They were like eating glazed air, so good!:cloud9:

Steal away! I'd eaten KK's before, but to get them just out of the oven was undescribable! I love glazed donuts, but hate it when the glaze has melted. The donuts are wet & soggy when that happens.

I was very nervous thinking about the bears being that close. The population has really gotten out of hand. The bears used to be back up in the mountains & rarely seen. Not anymore, they are coming into town!:scared1:

Your granddaughters are too cute! Did you get to see any of the shows at AK? The Lion King show is phenomenal! So much like the Broadway play!

I also love the pics of the Smokies! We went there when i was really little. I remember Mom and Dad taking me and my brother in our pick-up truck that had a cap on top. We would open the window to the back, and crawl back in the bed and nap on blankets! No child safety seats or seat belts going up and down those mountain roads, and we turned out OK!:yay:

We had an ADR for 5:00 at Chef Mickey's, so after the pool party it was back to our rooms to get ready. We took the bus to the MK, then rode the Monorail to the Contemporary. We arrived early & the lobby of the restaurant was filling up. I checked in, recieved our beeper & we waited close to the front desk. I noticed that people were starting to line up. We got in the line & were close to the front. The beeper went off & we were the second party shown to a table.

I can't find my pictures of Goofy. He was so funny, he signed his name in Emily's book by placing the book on her head. After he left our table, he went to the next one to repeat the drill. The funny thing was, he came back with the other child's book & put it on Emily's head! He did that several times. She was so thrilled to be singled out like that! It was really special for her.

The food was surprisingly good! I think that the thing to do was to get that first seating. Everything was clean & presented very nicely. When we left, Bob made a remark about feeling sorry for the next group of people. The buffet was getty messy by that time. He would like to eat there again. It was one of his favorites. The only thing is, he doesn't want to be bother by the "stuffed animals". MEN!

We headed to the Haunted Mansion for our first ride of the night. We didn't need any FPs. The standby wait was about 15minutes. I really liked the interactive things in the queue. The girls had so much fun playing with the noise making stuff!

We get inside the mansion & we have that darned balloon to deal with. The CM was very nice & told us that we could leave it with them. So we were off, but I hit a snag! I had to force my Kelly onto that ride. She was crying, no I don't want to ride. She was so scared of that HM & I felt like a monster!
Her mother insisted they had to ride sobs be damned! I talked all the way through the ride telling her that it was just puppets & so on. I felt so horrible that I had to take her on that ride. Her sister was not too thrilled either, but at least she wasn't crying. If that had been my daughter instead of DIL, I would have given her what for. With a DIL one has to tread easily!:rolleyes1

We decided to head over to TomorrowLand for the rest of the evening. This is terrible, but I can't remember what we did next. Anne & the girls went into Monsters Inc. floor show. We couldn't take the balloon inside, had to leave it outside the closed doors. Well after paying $9 for a balloon, I was not going to leave it there. So Bob & I waited outside until they came out. It was raining a bit by that time, but we were under a shelter & it felt good to sit for awhile. While we waited I got my first ever FP! We used it for Buzz.

They came out & Buzz Lightyear was next. The CMs kept the balloon for us & the shoot fest began. I outgunned Bob why a wide margin! It was the best I'd ever done, my score was 444,548; his was a little over 25,000! Whoo hooo!

After this we headed towards the bridge to watch Wishes.

My DH took all of these photos. I was using the video camera. We were standing right under where Tink came sliding down the wire. I didn't realize that there was a live Tinker bell that slid from the top of the castle! That was so amazing to us, we were always too far away to see her clearly.

It was time to make our way out through the masses of humanity to leave plus keep the girls close to us. There was an incident that upset Bob & he is still PO'd about today.

There was a couple that were riding mobility carts. There were no health issues as Bob had seen them earlier hopping on & off the carts doing things. The carts were loaded down with bags of purchases. They just didn't want to walk like the rest of the crowd. These two were probably around 30. Anyway the husband was trying to push his way through the crowd by nudging people out of his way with the cart!:scared1: Bob was so mad with these two, so rude. It would have been different if they were really handicapped in some way, but AFAIK they weren't!

We made back to CBR totally worn out. We were getting out early in the morning for EMH at the MK. Lots of Pixie Dust was coming our way!

Most of the PP pictures turned out pretty good. I didn't do much editing other than resizing them!

I got that shirt at Walmart a couple of days before we left. I got 3 different ones for $5 each. The shirts were on clearance!

Whaaaaaaat? :faint: Are you serious? Walmarts in Delaware don't carry stuff like that. That is a great deal.

Maybe I will hit up a Walmart when I get to Disney in December since we will have a car.

They had some really nice shirts, labeled Disney. So they are authentic licensed shirts. Walmart has a new selection now of shirts.

We were getting off to an early start for the MK, it was EMH. The girls are waiting to go wearing their Disney outfits. My little Princess & her sister DR. Jones!
http://i1186.photobucket.com/albums/z366/wicketsmom/Disney2011076.jpg

At the bus stop we met a CM who was starting a Disney trivia contest. I won one of the questions, which was when did DL open? Of course I knew this, 1955! I won a pink pirate scarf with little skulls on it!

We arrived at MK & got in line to have our photos taken by PP. The couple in front of us went in front of the entrance to have their photo taken. We were all surprised as was his girl when he got down on his knee & proceeded to propose! She said yes & the crowd let out a cheer & applauded the happy couple. That was defineatly a first for me! Anyway here are ppictures of us.

Anne & the girls on Main St.

Now to start the rides, first headed to Adventureland only to find it was closed! What the heck, I thought everything would be open to ride. So we headed to Fantasyland!
First up was Pooh, then Snow White, after that was Peter Pan & the carrousel. We hit every ride in Fantasyland one after another. The tea cups were next, th egirls wanted to ride them, so I had to take them. Anne & Bob can't ride anything that spins so I gave the girls the ride of their lives!:woohoo:

Next up was the Turnpike thing. After riding the cars I remember why we rode it once back in 1975! Won't ride it again, way too hard to handle those cars!

After this we headed to the side of the castle round Fantasyland & came upon some special ladies!
http://i1186.photobucket.com/albums/z366/wicketsmom/Disney2011084.jpg
They were a hoot, so funny & wanting to know if we knew of some handsome prices for them to meet! http://i1186.photobucket.com/albums/z366/wicketsmom/Disney2011085.jpg This was so special as we were the only ones that were in the area, so we had time to joke with them! Girls had an up close & personal visit! Disney Magic!
We passed this statue that I thought was so nice!
http://i1186.photobucket.com/albums/z366/wicketsmom/Disney2011086.jpg
WE came upon the Sword in the Anvil, Kelly of course had to try it.
http://i1186.photobucket.com/albums/z366/wicketsmom/Disney2011087.jpg
She was tugging on the sword & Pixie Dust was sprinkled!:lovestruc
http://i1186.photobucket.com/albums/z366/wicketsmom/Disney2011088.jpg My little Kelly was to become the next King of Camelot!!!
Of course Emily had to try, but no luck! I guess that there is only room for one king in our family.

Next was the Carrousel, one of my favorites.

After this ride we went to ride a classic! Not my favorite, but one that has to be ridden, especially when it's hot outside!

Anne eating her first Mickey Bar, also Emily had one & Kelly had a strawberry fruit bar. They were eaten with much gusto!

http://i1186.photobucket.com/albums/z366/wicketsmom/Disney2011097.jpg

In the midst of this I got a call from my neighbor telling me the mail & paper was not stopped. They were leaving for vacation so I had to call son to have him drive by to pick up mail & paper. Sheesh, what a pain!

http://i1186.photobucket.com/albums/z366/wicketsmom/Disney2011098.jpg

You would think that Bob would have better things to take pictures of!

Now it was off to Adventureland to another of my favorite places! YoHoHo!

http://i1186.photobucket.com/albums/z366/wicketsmom/Disney2011099.jpg

Then we rode BTRR & SM, after that it was time to eat lunch. So we headed for Pecos Bill's. I wanted to go to Harbour House, but Anne didn't see anything that she liked, so Pecos Bill here we come.

I wasn't impressed with PB at all. Burger was dry & fries were just ok. Atmosphere was way too noisy. I did try the electronic order system which was trying at the start, but we figured it out. It was a great way to place our order. The lines were busy, but this was so fast as no one was using it.
After lunch we had an appointment to meet Ariel.

http://i1186.photobucket.com/albums/z366/wicketsmom/Disney%20Photos/Disney2011098.jpg

While waiting for Ariel I went to get my first Dole Whip Float! My that sure was a tasty & refreshing!

Bubba's was very good, but a little pricey!

Anne makes the dresses, coming up are the cutest outfits. They got quite a few compliments from the CMs on those dresses.

Kelley went into a store close by & was sprinkled with Pixie Dust. I tried to get Bob to go in for some, but he was adamant, no way!

I had never seen the sword move either. I had read in another TR where it did, I thought that was so cool, so was hoping to see it happen. I was so shocked when the sword started to slide upwards. Her sister tried hard to get the sword to pull out, but couldn't do it.

After killing time at the Indy shop, it was time to head for 50's PT. We arrived a couple of minutes early, but didn't have much wait time. We were seated very quickly. We had one of the TV tables which was fun! I sure do miss some of the shows that were on tv! I'm now showing my age.:scared1:

Bob & I paid OOP for our meal, since we were going to a sig restaurant later in the week. I wasn't very hungry so I got a bowl of chicken noodle soup which was pretty good. Not as good as mine, but acceptable. Bob got the same thing. We didn't get a dessert as we didn't have much of an appetite. I did get one of the light up drinks. It really hit the spot, Bob had his usual beer.

The girls got chicken nuggets & smores for dessert.

This wasn't a very good photo, but was all that I could manage. Anne had some sort fish, I can't remember what she ordered. She got the brownie ice cream thingie. None of us liked it, not much flavor & too sweet.

http://i1186.photobucket.com/albums/z366/wicketsmom/Disney2011123.jpg

We got some interaction with the CM. She was an older woman, very nice, but just not as much fun. She did tell us to keep our elbows off the table, but she seemed rushed. I would eat here again, but would hope that I was hungry.

We headed for Star Tours & to get Emily registered for the Jedi training. The training classes were filled for the rest of the day, so we would be back in the morning. Now on to Star Tours! The new ST was a blast, it felt so real & there are I think 6 versions.

Anne & the girls had gotten into the pin trading fun. I had a couple of pins from an earlier visit that were included in our package. So, I decided that I was going to trade also. We hung around the pin shop by the Hat & I got a lanyard, the 40th Anniversary Lanyard hanger & some pins to trade. I will post pix of my WDW purchases at the TR wrap up.

Emily was getting tired or waiting!:sad2:

When Emily & I sat out the Tower of Terror, we were looking around the gift shop. I happened to notice this little boy run through the shop, looked like he was about four years old. He seemed a little agitated. He started looking around frantically, then started to cry.

I was thinking that maybe he was separated from his parents, when he ran out the door. I started out the door after him & said something to the CM about the boy. The CM went running out the door, caught up with the boy & brought him back into the shop. No one could communicate with him as he spoke a foreign language. A couple of minutes later Papa came out of the ride area, spotted the boy & all was well! :woohoo:

That was such a scary thing & people should keep a better eye out for their children. Thank goodness this had a happy ending.

Here I am bright eyed & bushy tailed to start another day of commando touring!

This was the first time that I'd ridden this ride. I really had never spent much time in this area of HS. I thought that it was for small children.

I really liked the props, they brought back a lot of memories from mine & my kids childhoods!

Next ride up was this one, The Movie Ride at Grauman's Chinese Theater!

http://i1186.photobucket.com/albums/z366/wicketsmom/Disney2011147.jpg

I love this ride, it helps that I've seen just about every movie that they show clips of! I really love old movies! We got the gangsters this time, we've got the cowboys on previous trips. The next attraction was to be the Back Lot tour, but it was closed that day. That was a disappointment.

It was off to Star Tours for another great ride! We got a different scenario than our last ride which made the ride even better. Say hello to CP30!

http://i1186.photobucket.com/albums/z366/wicketsmom/Disney2011148.jpg

Outside of Star Tours there is this speed racer to pose for photos with. So we took advantage of it.

Emily was getting ready for her appearance at the Padwan school, so we were taking photos of Kelly.

While waiting for Emily to come onstage, Kelly wanted to get her face painted. So off went to accomplish that.

http://i1186.photobucket.com/albums/z366/wicketsmom/Disney2011153.jpg

Here is the finished product on one very happy little girl!

http://i1186.photobucket.com/albums/z366/wicketsmom/Disney2011155.jpg

This lasted all day, it did cause some problems. Kelly got upset about something & was crying. She started crying harder when told that her face paint would wash off if she didn't stop! It worked out ok, but it was trying for me!! :rotfl:

A happy grandmama & her little flower!

Kelly really loved her face painting session. I think that it was a pretty good job for $10. The paint lasted all day which was pretty good for the really hot weather!

I loved those dresses, Anne makes really cute dresses. She likes the girls to be tom boys, but she does dress them in great dresses! :lovestruc

The CM's made quite a few comment about the dresses.

http://i1186.photobucket.com/albums/z366/wicketsmom/Disney2011168.jpg

We decided to have lunch before we left HS. Since it was close to us & seemed a likely place, we stopped at Fairfax Fare. Never again will we eat there! The food was okay, salads & sandwiches, but the service was the worst in the entire WDW. Bob was so appalled that management allowed such slow service. The CMs would take the order then fill it one item at a time. This would mean walking across the kitchen to get one item, them back across to get another. There were more than a few angry peole in that line I can tell you!

http://i1186.photobucket.com/albums/z366/wicketsmom/Disney2011169.jpg

After our lunch we decided that it was time to leave. We wanted to do a bit of shopping in HS on the wasy out. Kelly & Emily decided that shopping was not for them. So they each got a bag of gummy worms with their snack credit.

http://i1186.photobucket.com/albums/z366/wicketsmom/Disney2011170.jpg

They looked cute & lady like sitting there enjoying their snacks.

http://i1186.photobucket.com/albums/z366/wicketsmom/Disney2011171.jpg

Now that Vader has been vanquished, it is time to begin our way out, but first some shopping.

Well went out today to finish up some Christmas things, when sitting at a traffic light, Kabam! We were rear ended. The woman that hit us was going pretty fast & that was a big bang. Our heads snapped back, thank God for headrests. I had a headache that lasted well over an hour! The woman was elderly & quite confused & since she hit our pick up her car sustained more damage. At least no real bodily harm was done. Our poor dog was with us, scared the crap out of him.

Want to wish all my readers & all the Disers a very Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year!!

Hi Doris -

I hope you and your family had a wonderful Christmas. I was just stopping by to see what I had missed.

I did take some cell phone pictures when I toured the historic houses in Odessa Delaware before Christmas. When I get a chance I'll have to post some for you to see.

This really was a little treasure literally right in my backyard (5 miles away) and I can't believe I haven't toured the houses in well over 10 years. It was lovely and the best part - Picture were allowed! :cool1:

Some of the houses are private residences (including one house owned by my old neighbor - that was fun) and others are owned by Winterthur. It was a lovely day. I thought about you a lot during my tour! :goodvibes

There must be something in the air. I was sitting at a light on my way home from work Tuesday night and also got rearended. Nobody got hurt. 19 year old kid, he kept apologizing. He seemed like a good kid. His mom called me not long after I got home and has been very nice too. She's paying for the damage out of pocket. She already called the body shop with a credit card to pay to order the parts so things are going smoothly so far. Hope they do for you too.
Looking forward to you next trip update.

We got a check today for the repair of the truck. Things are done differently now. We were told not to get estimates, the adjuster just tells you how much it should be, cuts a check, then you take the vehicle to get fixed. It's up to the body shop to try to get more money from the insurance company.

OK, I’m back & am trying the cut & paste thing in Word. I hope that this works for me!

I’ve been quite busy since Christmas sewing my gown for my group’s Twelfths Night party. Since I’ve been asked to post pictures of my new gown here goes!

http://i1186.photobucket.com/albums/z366/wicketsmom/fallwinter2011065.jpg

This gown is called a Chemise ala Reine. It was popularized by Marie Antionette around 1787 & became the fashion until 1800.

http://i1186.photobucket.com/albums/z366/wicketsmom/fallwinter2011064.jpg

The gown is made entirely of silk & I’m wearing undergarments that are also correct for the dress. I try to have the correct hair & jewelry for the period also.

http://i1186.photobucket.com/albums/z366/wicketsmom/fallwinter2011067-1.jpg

I hope that all have liked to see something of what I do as a hobby. We have a lot of fun & do a lot of teaching the public about our early history. Pictures of me are in family albums around the world. There are usually foreigners attending our public events & they do like to take our pictures in these funny clothes!

Now to get back to work on my TR! & WOOT WOOT, I learned something new today!:dance3:

We decided to ride SE as it was in front of us. While riding up the bill hill Emily wanted to know if it was going to be a large drop ahead! She was so used to all of the coaster type rides so far that she thought doom was ahead!
That ride was a nice surprise for Emily & Kelly.

We were off to TT, another thrill ride for the kids, but it was one that they liked!

It was still a little early for our ADR, but we decided to go to CR anyway. I was hoping that we could get a seat by the aquarium, besides after we arrived, the skies opened in a big way. We were called to our table after 30 minute wait & were led to a booth that faced just across from the tank window.:woohoo:

This was our first time at Coral Reef, it was pretty nice in there & our CM was very good. He was extremely helpful, especially later!

Emily ordered the child’s chicken breast & ice cream for dessert, Anne, Bob & I ordered the strip steak. Bob ordered his usual adult beverage, beer. I know that I got some sort of drink, but I’ve forgotten what it was! Kelly wanted pizza & ice cream. Anne told her that she couldn’t get the ice cream with pizza as it didn’t come with it. Anne placed their orders & I heard her order 2 chickens for the girls. I wondered if Kelly had changed her mind, but didn’t say anything about it.

Our dinners came in short order, but when Kelly saw hers, she was upset. She wanted pizza! Anne said, no you wanted ice cream & it was not available with pizza. Kelly started to sob that she wanted pizza! Well, Anne decided to take Kelly out to administer a punishment for her arguing about the chicken. I was getting upset about all of this, after this was Disney! If she wanted ice cream with her pizza, they would give it to her. I kept my mouth shut as I don’t want to alienate the DIL, she is my only access to these girls. Emily sat there & told us Kelly wanted pizza, I heard her say that to Mom. I was getting more upset by the minute.

Well, they came back to the table Kelly slid into her seat, picked up her fork & started to take a bite of that chicken. A silent tear was sliding down her face as she did so, I couldn’t take that (I’m tearing up writing about it) so I burst out with a sob choked voice, she wanted the pizza! Anne paid attention to that I can tell you! I don’t normally show my emotions, but her wanting the pizza & not getting it reminded me of all the terrible times that my mother made us eat things that we didn’t want really got to me at that moment!:furious:

The CM came over & Anne asked if she could have pizza instead of the chicken. He didn’t bat an eye & said of course she could! I mean this is Disney, the happy place, they are going to make a child happy!!! After that everything settled down & we finished dinner. All was well again. I don’t usually like it when kids cause problems at dinner, they should be taken out so as not to disturb others, but she just wanted what she asked for. Anne is not used to restaurants although she has eaten out quite a bit. She is one that thinks menus are set in stone & can’t be changed. Fortuneatly the rest of our vacation with Anne & the girls went well!:grouphug:

After dinner the rain had stopped, so we rode on the Nemo ( actually the former Living Seas), no one was too impressed by that. It has been changed too much, was better before Nemo.

Next up was MS, that was a fun ride, then another trip on TT. We were off to Soarin’ next.
None of the lines were very long, however we did get a FP for Soarin’ & TT.

We were in the queue for Soarin’ when I realized that we could be in the front row center. When the doors opened, woot, woot, we were to sit dead center in the front row!! This was the first time ever for us & we had ridden Soarin’ many times. It is Bob’s favorite ride!

It was starting to get late, but we had EMH at Epcot that night. It was also Anne & the Girls last night at WDW. We decided to do a Kimpossible adventure, but it had no more adventures open for the evening. We did a little shopping at WS & then it was time for Illuminations.

http://i1186.photobucket.com/albums/z366/wicketsmom/Disney2011188.jpg

After Illuminations we headed to the exit & stopped for some more PPs.

There's times when you can just say it's because I'm Gramma and I said so! Sometimes my mom does that with DS, and we just kind of roll our eyes and let her do it, because they have such a special bond.

You have to register in person on the day that you want to participate. We got there first thing in the morning so as not to miss the opportunity. The registration is in the area of the ABC studios. You walk that narrow area with the pictures of ABC programs that are on the buildiings. The registration center is open at 9:00 I believe. It is iin one of those oofice type buildings. Just ask where it is & a CM will be able to tell you. Remember registration has to be in person. They have several times a day to choose to participate.

Well, it is now Saturday morning, the last day of Anne & the girls’ trip to WDW with Grandma& Grandpa. It was such a nice morning that I decided to sit outside on the patio. I’d eaten my breakfast of half a Sweet Almond pretzel from the Norway bakery.

Anne sent Emily out to eat her breakfast while she got Kelly dressed & start packing.

http://i1186.photobucket.com/albums/z366/wicketsmom/Disney2011193.jpg

Emily was enjoying her cheese & crackers while she waited.

We were having a very nice chat which we don’t get to do very often.

http://i1186.photobucket.com/albums/z366/wicketsmom/Disney2011194.jpg

It was fun to listen to her ideas of things & her impressions of WDW. I do know that she wants to come back to WDW, but of course who doesn’t!

http://i1186.photobucket.com/albums/z366/wicketsmom/Disney2011196.jpg

Kelly came out to eat her breakfast so that Anne could finish the packing. They wanted to get over to Epcot to do a Kim Possible mission. Their ME was picking them up at 1:00 which didn’t leave them a lot of time to spare!

We were checking out a very small lizard for something to do.

http://i1186.photobucket.com/albums/z366/wicketsmom/Disney2011197.jpg

Kelly & I are having our one on one moment together. Bob took Emily to feed the ducks at the beach. Anne is still packing! That room was pretty cluttered with all of their things! Anne does not travel lightly! LOL!

http://i1186.photobucket.com/albums/z366/wicketsmom/Disney2011199.jpg

I brought out my little pup that the MK had made. This was the first animal that we ever had made for us at WDW! I was hoping that one would be done for us. It was the first of several!

http://i1186.photobucket.com/albums/z366/wicketsmom/Disney2011200.jpg

I think that Bob was going for a peek a boo shot! That man!

Emily was enjoying the ducks along with Grandpa! Bob likes to play with the wildlife when he goes on vacation.

She was getting a lot of attention from those birds!

http://i1186.photobucket.com/albums/z366/wicketsmom/Disney2011203.jpg

The beaches are so nice first thing in the morning, no footprints & nicely raked.

http://i1186.photobucket.com/albums/z366/wicketsmom/Disney2011204.jpg

Anne finally got the packing finished & here they are waiting for the Epcot bus. I think that the time was around 9:00am.

A quick shot of the fountains shooting up in the air as we pass by on our way to WS.

Not too many people are going to WS at this hour which was good for us. We had a mission to accomplish!

http://i1186.photobucket.com/albums/z366/wicketsmom/Disney2011207.jpg

Bob was taking a shot across the fountains at SE. He likes to shoot in Epcot!

http://i1186.photobucket.com/albums/z366/wicketsmom/Disney2011208.jpg

Somehow we got ahead of them, but we are all on the way to see Kim!

Here I am so alone in WS, this is why we like early September!

All of us made it to the Kim Possible check in station & received our Kimmunicators. We did request a country that was fairly close as we didn’t have much time. Bob & I got Mexico & Anne & the girls got Norway. If you can please do this game, it is so much fun. The Kimmunicators are specially enabled cell phones that give you the clues & directions where you are to search. Lots of fun! Sorry no pictures as all of us were to busy saving the world!

After the missions, we strolled around the WS to shop & also to see some characters. The girls had a nice meet with Princess Mulan.

http://i1186.photobucket.com/albums/z366/wicketsmom/Disney%20Photos/Disney2011266.jpg

Having a nice chat!

http://i1186.photobucket.com/albums/z366/wicketsmom/Disney%20Photos/Disney2011270.jpg

Mulan was such a sweet woman. The great thing about early morning in WS is that the kids had such a nice meet & greet!

http://i1186.photobucket.com/albums/z366/wicketsmom/Disney%20Photos/Disney2011271.jpg

Mulan was the last character meeting for the girls. There wasn’t anymore of them out at that time of morning. Later Bob & I saw quite a few of them, Chip & Dale, Jasmine & her prince & a few others. I was surprised to see them in the WS.

The girls chose TT for their last ride at WDW, they really loved that ride!

After some last minute shopping by Anne at Mouse Gear, it was decided they wanted lunch before the flight. So we stopped at Electric Umbrella. Bob & I didn’t have lunch since we had an ADR at Le Cellier for a 2:50 lunch.

Anne got the Caesar salad, the girls got a hamburger with grapes & fruit cup for dessert. It was starting to get late & Bob was getting antsy. About that time he got a phone call so he was out of the mix for a few minutes at least!

We had put their luggage in our room so we decided to go on ahead & meet them at the ME pickup stop. We hurried to get a CBR bus, luckily one was there so we made it back fairly quickly. Bob was obsessing about Anne missing ME & her flight! Frankly he was driving me nuts! I was anxious myself so I didn’t need to hear his griping.

We made it back to our room with a little time to spare. We grabbed their luggage & headed out to meet Anne & the girls at the ME pickup. Bob was so worried that they would miss ME & their flight. We hadn’t seen any CBR buses pulling in when we left Epcot. Well, as we turned the corner from our room, Anne was there hurrying to help with the bags. It seems when they went to get a bus none was there. She saw a bus waiting that had no destination written on the front. Anne went to the driver & asked where he was to be going. He asked her where she needed to go, she answered CBR. He said get in that’s where we are going! Sorely needed Pixie Dust was sprinkled!!

Our little train straggled to the station to hop aboard ME. That was such a sad bunch! The girls & Anne did not want to leave, but girls had to get back to school.

http://i1186.photobucket.com/albums/z366/wicketsmom/Disney2011216.jpg

After many hugs & kisses & sad goodbyes ME was boarded for MCO & their flight home in Tulsa, Ok. We will take them back to WDW in the future. I really do think that every child should have the opportunity to visit WDW. It is such a magical place for adults & children alike! I know that is such a cliché, but I truly believe it with all my heart! Bob is not a big Disney lover, but he did admit with the girls along, he had a great time!

We had a bus to catch back to Epcot because we had a 2:50 ADR for Le Cellier. It was around 2:00 when we arrived back at Epcot & I sorely needed an adult beverage. It was so hot, so I new exactly what I wanted. This is before my first sip!

http://i1186.photobucket.com/albums/z366/wicketsmom/Disney2011217.jpg

See how much better I felt after my first sip! I did get some serious brain freeze with that drink, but it was so worth it! Loved that Grand Marnier slushie!

http://i1186.photobucket.com/albums/z366/wicketsmom/Disney2011218.jpg

Now, on our way to Le Cellier. Passed these guys on the way, I love Off Kilter! You haven’t lived until you have heard Johnny B Good played on a bagpipe!

After our adult beverages we headed to Le Cellier for our lunch. This was our first time eating here. The bad thing was that we weren’t hungry as we were tired & so hot. We had been on the run the entire time that Anne & the GDs were with us.

We arrived a little early so we had to wait, after about 15 minutes we were shown to our table. It is so dark in there, but that’s part of the atmosphere. I didn’t care for our table, it was on of those small two tops. Those tables get so crowded when the food is served. The pretzel bread was served with butter. I’m a sucker for good bread & known to eat bread instead of my meal!

We both ordered the Filet/w mushroom sauce. I switched out the rice for mashed potatoes, Bob likes rice. I just don’t like mushrooms & figured that I could scrape the sauce off the potatoes. The food was alright, but nothing special. We just weren’t feeling the love here. It could have been we weren’t very hungry.

We both had dessert, Bob had the Chocolate Moose, which he liked. I had the Maple Crème Brulee, which was meh. I didn’t like the strong maple flavor. I felt like I needed a pancake with it. My search for a good crème brulee was to end in failure this trip!

Bob did have a beer with lunch, but all I needed was water.

We headed out to tour the WS the rest of the afternoon. Along the way we stopped for a look into the caramel shop. OMG, I loved this place! I just had to have a couple of those strawberries.

http://i1186.photobucket.com/albums/z366/wicketsmom/Disney2011221.jpg

Not a pretty picture, but I was in my happy place!

On our way around we had another picture taken by PP.

http://i1186.photobucket.com/albums/z366/wicketsmom/Disney%20Photos/Disney2011277.jpg

After this we decided to have some pool time so we went back to CBR. It was around 5:00. We got back, changed into our swimsuits, went to the main pool.

We found a couple of loungers & settled in with a couple of drinks, a mojito for me & a bud light draft for him!

Wicket's Mom
01-31-2012, 11:47 AM
There were quite a few people at the pool, but as it got later they started leaving. I wanted to use the hot tub, so I went in. As usual parents let their children go into it unsupervised. There were a few parents with their kids, but they were all foreign. The water in that thing was 106 degrees, a sign was posted stating that!

The main pool at CBR is a walk in & there are many play spaces for children, why do they need to be swimming in the hot tub? As I was sitting there this little girl decides to jump into the tub with a big splash that goes into my face! Well don’t awake the sleeping bear in this grandma! I snapped at her that this area was not for swimming, go to the pool for that! They knew enough English to understand that! All of them got out & went to the pool. You should have seen all of the adults that got in after that group left. I think that I must have made some new friends!

As it got later we decided that we must eat something, but we still were not hungry. We had CSs that we were going to use, decided to use them later. Our dinner that night was Mickey Bars! Great dinner, Mickey Bars, Mojitos & Beer!

We were in bed by 9:00 for some much needed rest & relaxation.

I’m sorry that there were no pictures at this stage of our vacation. We just didn’t feel like taking any. We were so tired, hot & sad that the kids had left. We spent the rest of that day decompressing so that we could enjoy the two days that we had left of our WDW vacation.

Great updates! It sounds as if another trip is around the corner!

That slushy looks like heaven in a glass.

I hope you get to enjoy the last couple days.

I found more info on the academy. I'm not telling DS as we might not make it. Our flight lands at MCO at 8:30 AM. We have to get breakfast, luggage, and pick up the rental car, so I'm guessing by the time we get to HS that they will be out of reservations. I just don't want him counting on anything...

I'm glad I could help you and it's working for you.
Sounds like you had a nice relaxing evening for the most part. Claire loves the hot tub too, but we do tell her it is for sitting. When I left off Anne & the GDs left WDW to go home to Tulsa. I had finished that day so now am doing Sunday September 11. This was our next to the last day.

I, too love history & our hobby is so much fun. I have to do a museum thing in March. It is a Night at the Museum. We have so many historical figures being portrayed. I do the wife of Governor Bushnel who was from Springfield Ohio. We have late 1770's up through 1940's represented. The event takes place in the eveniing after the museum is closed. It has been a sucess for us & the museum.

We decided to stop for lunch & knew where we wanted to go. Grabbed a bus to the Yacht Club to get to DTD. EOS here we come. We spotted an eating area when we had been to DTD earlier with Anne & the GDs. It was along the lake. We love eating at places like that!

We spent some time at HD, rode TofT, saw the Walt Disney museum, which was very nice. That was our fist time in there. We just walked around soaking up the atmosphere.

We headed back to CBR to rest & get ready for our 6:00 ADR at Narcossee’s.

I spied this when I turned the corner to our room.

As we got closer I was so excited to see this. I took these animals because folks on the Dis said that the MK would do this sort of thing.

http://i1186.photobucket.com/albums/z366/wicketsmom/Disney2011263.jpg

I guess it doesn’t take much to excite me, but everything Disney has that effect on me!

Now it was time to get over to the GF for our ADR at Narcossee’s.

http://i1186.photobucket.com/albums/z366/wicketsmom/Disney2011265.jpg

I was a little worried about the food as I wanted lobster & kept seeing theses bad reviews. We had a wonderful dinner, got a personal menu with our name at the top. I didn’t even notice that touch until Bob pointed it out to me!

http://i1186.photobucket.com/albums/z366/wicketsmom/Disney2011267.jpg

Don’t ask why I’m looking this was cause I don’t know. Just some more of Bob’s stealth photos!

I had the whole Maine lobster & Bob had the Surf & Turf. I had the Crème Brule Duo & Bob had the Almond Crusted Cheesecake. He loved his dessert, while mine was just meh!

He didn’t care for the press pot coffee & I couldn’t tell you anything about it as I’m not allowed to drink coffee. All in all it was a delightful meal. Our CM was very good did everything she was supposed to with no muss or fuss.

After dinner we decided to go to the MK by boat. In those clouds on the left of the photo was a spectacular lightning show.

http://i1186.photobucket.com/albums/z366/wicketsmom/Disney2011272.jpg

I was getting a little worried waiting on the boat since the lightning seemed so close. We did ride it after all & it was such a lovely night with the full moon!

When we made it over to MK it was a mad house since people were leaving & also arriving for EMH. We decided to head back to CBR since it was so crowded.

We arrived back to CBR to find the travel arrangements on the door. I hate to see that because it’s absolute that we will be leaving tomorrow!

You really had a busy last full day! Lots of traveling around. I love EOS and I love those little tables down by the water.

You window looked so cute on arrival to your room. What a warm welcome. Love that.

Your dress is very pretty. Sounds like you had an absolutely lovely last evening at dinner and those pictures from the restaurant are gorgeous! What a beautiful time of night.

I really enjoyed reading about your trip. It sounds like it was near perfect. I'm sure you are anxious to wrap it up before you leave for Florida. Have a lovely time and soak up a little sun for me, will you please? :goodvibes

It was a great trip. I don't think that I will finish before I leave since that is the day after tomorrow.

Thanks for the dress compliment. It was a Chaps from Kohls, most of my clothes are Chaps or American Living.

Bob is finding beaches & a cute hotel that he wants to see at Cedar Key. He's really getting into this trip, thank goodness, because I've had to fight for this for a year!:headache:

He was asking me if we need to cancel the car since I'm a little under the weather. I think that my RA remission is over, God I hope not. Anyway we are going no matter what!!!:cool1:

I'm not sure about Riverside as I don't want one of those rooms that have the stick furniture. Does anyone know about that?

The stick furniture is in Alligator Bayoo - request Magnolia Bend, that is where the Mansion Houses are!

Making ADRs was a pain yesterday - I had to call - it would not let me do it online, so be prepared for that.

Hi Doris!

Just found your report tonight and I really enjoyed it. I think I have a future grandson-in-law for your granddaughter. He too is an Indy nut and loves Star Wars. He was Indy last year for Halloween and even talked his brother into being Short Round. Loved your granddaughter's Indy-inspired outfit. My two dress like him all the time. Did she find the "real" Indy hats at the gift shop? My James almost had me talked into buying him one! They know I have trouble saying no at Disney. ;)

Anyway, I'm glad you had such a wonderful trip. Both your granddaughters are beautiful and how special that you were able to introduce them to Disney. My first trip was with my neighbors (who were like grandparents to me) and I have never forgotten it. 32 years later and I still remember where we ate each night. I'm sure it will be the same for your granddaughters. Thank you for sharing your trip!

Nancy, welcome aboard! Your grandson sounds perfect for my granddaughter! She just had her bedroom decorated with Star Wars decor, very cute!

She got her Indy hat at the Disney store in Oklahoma. She got lots of compliments on her outfit. Her favorite thing at Disney was doing the Jedi training.

I wanted girly girls since I had four sons, but I love them anyway!

Well I have two boys and am a pretty girly girl myself. My SIL told me I could borrow my niece, but she's not really girly either. And my younger niece is not looking too girly either. :sad2: I'm hoping that I will be blessed with some granddaughters in the future...way in the future!! By then though, I probably won't know what to do with a girl! ;) At least my son's like Disney!!!

We got back Sat. afternoon. The trip was wonderful, but the first week was a time of great illness! for both of us, had a mean virus!

Went boating on the intercoastal, had dolphins swimming along side of us. Watched manatees in a little cove as they came up every 15 minutes for air. That was a wonderful experience. Will post some pictures if you like & will try to wind up this TR soon.

I will post some photos soon. I've been trying to catch up with things here at home since we've been back from Florida. Being away for 3 weeks means lots to do when returning.

I managed to get my ADRs this morning for the Sept. trip. The online reservation site was not working, kept getting can't find your ressie, please call. Finally called & got what I wanted. Fulton's, Olivia's, Rainforest Cafe & Boatwright's, trying something new this time. Our first night will be CS at Wolfgang's.

Yesterday at 5:30 Air Force One flew over my house as it was coming in for a landing at WPAFB. Obama was visiting the NCAA basketball game. It was cool seeing that plane.;)

It’s our last day at WDW, which is usually not a happy one! I mean who is ever ready to go back to real life? We arise early which is our habit of late.

I’m in pack mode & get busy getting all of our things ready to take to the lobby. It didn’t take too long because when it comes to packing I’m really organized! Besides we wanted to get our Disney on during the time we have left. ME isn’t picking us up until 6:30p.m., so we have plenty of time for fun.

Before we check out we head to Port Royal for a little breakfast. We have some snack credits left which we use for our food.

http://i1186.photobucket.com/albums/z366/wicketsmom/Disney2011275.jpg

http://i1186.photobucket.com/albums/z366/wicketsmom/Disney2011276.jpg

I get the banana nut bread & Bob gets the fruit yogurt with granola. It was pretty good & only 2 snack credits were used.

http://i1186.photobucket.com/albums/z366/wicketsmom/Disney2011278.jpg

As you can see we had an uninvited guest. These birds can be a real pest if you don’t watch out.

http://i1186.photobucket.com/albums/z366/wicketsmom/Disney2011279.jpg

We made our way back to our room, grabbed our luggage & checked out of CBR. Stowed our carry-ons with bell services, then went to the bus stop. We decided to spend our day at Epcot. At least that was to be our first park of the day.

http://i1186.photobucket.com/albums/z366/wicketsmom/Disney2011283.jpg

Our PP was a really nice guy. He said that we reminded him of his parents. A few years ago that would have been insulting, but now it was sweet.

http://i1186.photobucket.com/albums/z366/wicketsmom/Disney%20Photos/Disney2011287.jpg

He especially wanted us to pose for this photo, so to oblige we did! I thought it was a special picture to have. Although when my youngest GD saw it she was puzzeled as to why we were kissing!

http://i1186.photobucket.com/albums/z366/wicketsmom/Disney%20Photos/Disney2011289.jpg
http://i1186.photobucket.com/albums/z366/wicketsmom/Disney%20Photos/Disney2011290.jpg

This was our last PP of the trip. It was our first time using this service & I liked it very much! Don’t know if I would get the CD again, but it was great with the GDs.

Our first ride was SSE, which we do like, besides its fun! Then we headed to the land & the boat ride, which is a favorite, at least on this trip!

http://i1186.photobucket.com/albums/z366/wicketsmom/Disney2011284.jpg

http://i1186.photobucket.com/albums/z366/wicketsmom/Disney2011286.jpg

Bob tried to get a photo of the sturgeon, was partially successful.

http://i1186.photobucket.com/albums/z366/wicketsmom/Disney2011287.jpg

I would really like to grow my tomatoes like this, but don’t have that kind of luck!

http://i1186.photobucket.com/albums/z366/wicketsmom/Disney2011288.jpg

We headed out to the Cool Zone, had to taste some different types of soft drinks. I made a surprising discovery! Bob had a sip of the Beverly which he did not like at all! I poured myself a sample & guess what! I really LIKED IT! I had a couple of glasses, thought it was quite refreshing. Of course by this time I could have been delusional as I was starting to get overheated! Anyway the CM told me that 1 in 10 people liked Beverly.

By this time I had to stop at Mouse Gear to buy a new hat. I had packed my Minnie hat & the sun was merciless. I bought one of those cute bucket hats. It was a godsend.

http://i1186.photobucket.com/albums/z366/wicketsmom/Disney2011289.jpg

It was on to TT, Soarin’ & MS, which were fun as usual!

Next stop was to save the world, so we needed to get our Kimmunicator. Our country was Norway which we did manage to save.

By this time we were getting pooped. It was so hot & all of that black top at Epcot was taking its toll. I needed some wet refreshment. Bob had beer, but I couldn’t decide what I wanted. I should have had another slushie, but I chose a Sultan’s Colada from the Morocco Coffee & Pastry kiosk. It was terrible, certainly didn’t help my thirst at all.

We were tired & hot, so we sat on a shaded bench overlooking the World Lagoon. I called a friend & spoke to her for 20 minutes. Bob napped a little. I felt so bad because I wanted to go to my room & lie down. However no more room, I felt a little homeless!

After sitting for about an hour, we decided it was time to find a place to eat. We had 2 CS credits left so we went checking all the places. We wanted to eat outside, but the food that we wanted had no shady place to sit. I felt bad every time that we walked past the Japanese kiosk. Those poor Japanese CM girls would snap to attention & try to serve us. We were just looking, but I felt like we were snubbing them when we did not choose their place to eat. We really did want to eat there, but there was no place to sit close by.

Finally I couldn’t take it anymore, off to Sunshine Seasons I said! It was nice & cool in there & not busy. It was around 4:00 by then. I still wasn’t hungry, but I needed to eat something. I ordered the Mongolian beef with no beef just the noodles. My side was the cucumber salad & jello for dessert. Bob got the Mongolian Beef & Rice, with carrot cake.
The large Sprite was about the only thing I put away. That baby was so cold mainly wet! I had gone too long in that heat without drinking. I do that too many times & I need to stop doing that.

The last picture of our trip! Epcot is so photogenic, we love this park. Really love them all & our favorite seems to change each time that we visit!

http://i1186.photobucket.com/albums/z366/wicketsmom/Disney2011291.jpg

After eating very little myself, Bob ate the rest of mine, we headed to the exit & the bus back to CBR. We had about an hour to wait for the ME. We sat in the lobby & watched vintage Disney cartoons, which was a perfect ending for me of our vacation!

ME came right time, our flight was right on time & we were home at 11:30p.m. I do love that nonstop flight from here to MCO.

I do have some further thoughts to add.

I have some last thoughts on our vacation.

It was a blast taking Anne, Emily & Kelly. We had so much fun, maybe a little too much for Grandmama & Grandpa, but still fun! DH & I are used to much simpler trips to WDW. We like more relax time at the resorts, gotta’ hang at the pool & enjoy those adult beverages after mornings at the parks.

I need to take many more pictures if I do anymore TRs, especially food pictures. It was hard to remember pictures when dealing with Anne & the girls. Since this was our only time with them until next summer, we tended to forget about the camera. All I can say is thank goodness for PP, it was a lifesaver. We have some lovely pictures to go along with our memories of WDW.

We bought a few things for the girls, Emily got a light saber & Kelley had her face painted, also got a Princess balloon. I also gave the girls each a $50 gift to spend on whatever they wanted. They really got into the pin trading. Anne made lanyards for them & scored big time at the Disney Store on pin sets. I think she got Princess pin sets at $6.99 on clearance. That was an amazing deal as each girls started off with 6 pins or so to trade. They had a blast doing the trading!

Anne & I also got into the trading with gusto! I really scored with getting a Headless Horseman from a CM. I also bought a 40th anniversary pin & dangle set (not sure what to call it). Pin trading is something that I will stick with when going to WDW!

I found two cute shirts, one was from AK, brown with tan Mickey head outlines, the other was a blue Eeyore with bows sewn around the neck & on the front. I also bought a black sundress with leopard print Mickeys on it at AK.

One thing that I did was have free money for most of the tips, drinks & stuff! Got a Disney Visa, which paid me $200 for opening, had 74 points on another Disney Visa & $25 for a DVC response. Sure would like to find some more deals like that!

One of the best things that we ever did was have the DisMeet with Karin & Tom! I would encourage all to do a DisMeet. The people on this board are some of the nicest people in the world, I really mean that!

I would like to take another trip with Emily & Kelley, but not sure when to swing that again. It won’t be too far in the future. I hope!

Well, I hope that my first Trip Report wasn’t too boring. Maybe I will do another after our next vacation which is in September.

I was able to get free dining & made a ressie at POR, but after some deep thinking……I switched the ressie to AKL!! Our first deluxe & I’m so excited!
