Another One Bites the Dust!! Happy Birthday...........now get the band-aids

Here I go again with another trip report. I hope I get some readers. If you are lurking just give me a thumps up so I have a little encouragement. :thumbsup2 Thanks

Where to begin???????????
This was our fifth trip to Disney World. The last one before this trip was in December 2010. After that trip my DH said we were not going back until our youngest child can drive part of the way, she was three at the time. Silly Man!!! He should know better than making a statement like that in front of me. I secretly wanted to go back to Disney World for my 40th birthday. I didn't tell anyone about this but God. I started praying.

Well, well, well.....guess what? The recruiting team for the Disney College program showed up at our daughter's college. She went to the meeting and applied. She got accepted and moved to Disney World in May 2011. She will be there until January 2012. We can't be away from her for that long. We had to go visit her. Guess what date I picked to go see her..........My birthday and her's too. Our birthdays are only three days apart. God answers prayers, even secret ones:thumbsup2


Now let me introduce our cast
DH.......Faron- He always says that we are not going back to Disney World for years when we leave there. Lets see how consistent he is...We went in 2006, 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011. Yeah, he lies!!! He can't stay away.

Next me- I am a stay at home mom and I plan all our Disney Trips. I have friends calling me all the time to help them plan their trips too. I love Disney World.

Our oldest daughter Courtney- She is in the Disney College Program. She hates and loves it, depends on the mood you catch her in. I think she mostly loves it. She has grown into a very beautiful young lady. I am glad I didn't kill her when she was going through her sassy stage because now she is my best friend. I never imagined we would ever get out of the sassy stage with her.

Next Brennan- AKA "The Boy" he has taken up Courtney's place in the sassy department. He is nowhere near as bad as she was but he is trying. I could have knocked his block off a couple of times on this trip but since I let Courtney live I guess he should have the same chance. If your babies are still young............just wait. You will understand what I am talking about one day.

Last but not least...........Grace- AKA- Gracie Lou, Lou Lou, and many more. She is the baby of our family. It took us nine years to get pregnant for her. She is a blessing and spoiled rotten. She misses her Sissy so bad. She was so happy about this trip. When people would ask her what character she wanted to see most at Disney World, she would answer, "Sissy". How sweet? She is a little firecracker and keeps us on our toes 24/7. I have facebook fans that just wait for my "Gracie Stories". They need their daily dose of Grace. LOL!!

Welcome and thanks. Courtney is still working in the College Program. She is working on the Boardwalk. I hope you can do the program too. Courtney has made friends from all over the world. She now plans to travel to visit them. It is sad when they leave but they stay in touch through Facebook. I know Courtney would never change a thing about this experience.

Tonight she was a mess. She has not stopped talking all day. I don't know what her problem is but she was driving me crazy. I had enough and told her she was going clean her room and take a bath. She put up a big fuss. When I put up a bigger fuss she got moving. She walked out of her room with her pj's in her hand mad as a hornet that I had interrupted her play time for a stupid bath. She thought I looked away and she big as you please stuck out her tongue at me. She thought I didn't see. I got my ping pong paddle and met her in the bathroom. She got a little pop on her behind. Later when I was washing her she asked why she got a spanking. I told her because she stuck out her tongue at me. She told me, " I didn't stick my tongue out at you. You were just having a dream." Day one September 21st ROAD TRIP!! 12 hours to be exact..............

We hit the road at 5:30am

Grace wanted to talk to "Sissy" on the phone so we called Courtney. She told Courtney about our pedicures we had the day before. She said, "I got blue toes and Momma got Spanish" :rotfl2: She was trying to explain that I had a French pedicure.:rotfl2:
We had Mc Donalds for breakfast and lunch......ENOUGH Mc Donalds!!!

We wanted real food and so did Courtney. We were having a birthday party for Courtney that night. I cooked a pot of gumbo and brought some boudin with us. I also brought a red velvet cake from Courtney's favorite bakery. We also had a butt load of gifts for Courtney in the car. Faron joked that we would not have room for his suitcase. He said, "I am going to have to wear the same outfit all week and carry my toothbrush in my pocket." :rotfl2:

It started raining as we were almost there. We had to unload all that stuff in the rain. Courtney had surprises for us too. She had a birthday cake she made herself for me. She also had a birthday gift for me and Brennan. She got me silver Tinkerbell earrings and Brennan a LSU Mickey Mouse shirt.

She had friends waiting with her from the Disney College Program. They were excited about trying out some Cajun food. They loved it but it was spicy for them. Most of them were sweating as they ate because of the pepper. They said it was delicious. We had a great evening...................now time for the pictures:thumbsup2

It was a great evening but we were so tired from the long drive. We said goodbye to Courtney's friends and we all headed out to Caribbean Beach Resort. Courtney had checked us in already and had all her stuff there and unpacked. We needed to get settled in and unpack too.

I will put up Day Two tomorrow........

It has been a busy week. Grace and I have both been sick. I had to take her to the doctor. She has croup and a throat infection. I didn't go to the doctor. I bet I have the same thing. Anyway..........here is a good one for you. While at the doctor's office Grace got into a conversation with her doctor about Disney World. Her doctor told Grace that she LOVES Disney World too. Grace started singing the song from the Carousel of Progress. The doctor said she loves that ride too. Grace said, "Yes, they have a Halloween part and a Christmas part in it...oh and a beer part too" :scared1::scared1: The doctor looked shocked. I said that Grace doesn't even know what beer is. Grace interrupted to announce, "Yes I do!!!! I drink Beer." Upon further investigation we realized that Grace was talking about Root Beer..... They do have a part in the ride where he says that he is going to the soda shop for a Root Beer. That was an embarrassing moment. The doctor told Grace, "I don't drink beer" Grace said, "I do" I said, "I have never even bought beer in my life" I am glad we solved this one.:scared1::scared1:


Faron's store was in the 22nd annual World Championship Gumbo Cookoff today and they won 1st place. Our family is so excited today. :thumbsup2

Day 2......September 22, 2011
Courtney's 19th Birthday
We were up early this day ready to head out to Epcot

We were at Epcot for rope drop. Our first order of business, after we got a stroller was to get Courtney a birthday button. Speaking of stroller.....We had free stroller rental the whole trip. Courtney just had to show her cast member id.:banana:

With the button and stroller taken care of we did like everyone else and headed to the Land pavilion to ride Soarin.

I had a crown for Courtney to wear this day. It was not staying on her head and she could already tell it would be a bother all day. We decided we were going to give it to a little girl. As we were walking up to the Land we saw a family with a little girl around two and a half years old. They were posing for a picture. I asked the dad if I could give her the crown and he said yes. The little girl was so excited she ran back to give me a hug. It was so sweet.

We got fast passes for Soarin and then got in line to ride stand by. We waited around 5 minutes. We got row one:cool1: Grace rode this in December and LOVED it. I couldn't wait to do it again. As soon as our row lifted off the ground Grace started screaming and crying. She cried through the whole thing. I was so upset. I apologized to the couple sitting next to us when we got off. I couldn't believe how Grace reacted.

Next we rode Living With the Land. Grace was unsure of rides now. She cried for about one minute in the thunderstorm scene. She ended out loving this ride. Next they all rode Nemo while I went get fast passes for Test Track. I caught up with them and we all did Turtle Talk With Crush. Then Faron and Brennan went on Mission Space while Courtney and I took Grace to Character Connection. We enjoyed this and it was cool in the building. It was so hot outside.

We were ready for lunch after this. We had a mission............we wanted the best nachos in Disney World. We headed to the counter service in Mexico to get them.

Here is where I embarrassed the kids. I had what was a good idea at the time, to buy 2 liters of Coke and take one a day into the park. LOL!!! I had it in a bag with some bottled water. We got cups of ice with our meal and I busted out the 2 liter. We laughed so hard and the kids called me "Ghetto". I think I saved us like $16. It all adds up, you know:thumbsup2 The funny thing is they gave us little tiny cups and I had to keep refilling them. Thank God the restaurant was not crowded at all so we only had one family looking at us.

We rode Spaceship Earth after lunch. Then we headed to the countries. While we were in Norway I wanted some of the perfume Lalia. I love it and was almost out. It is the sent of Norway. When we went in December I got a bottle and was lucky enough to meet the perfume designer. When we got into the gift shop this time...........he was there again. He autographed my bottle and we took a picture together. He was wearing tight pants and I joked with Courtney that I was gong to give him a little Spank on his booty. :rotfl2: Seriously I had to put my hands in my pocket to resist. :rotfl2:

Brennan taught Grace how to pin trade..........I can't tell you how annoying this was. Brennan disappears on us every trip to trade pins. We are always stopping to wait for him to find us and it always ends out in an argument and meltdowns. Now he had Grace on his team.

Next we got to do something that I have never gotten to do in 5 trips to Disney World.
Voices of Liberty. It seemed like I was jinxed to never get to do this. Last time I made it up the stairs and thought I was going to get to do it......then Grace announced that she needed to poo. She made the royal announcement for all to hear too. I had to run down the stairs and out the building to get her to the potty in time. When I rounded the corner by the bathroom the crowd had parted to make a path for us. They heard us coming and her crying. Some lady was even waiting with the door open for us. The good news is we made it in time. The bad news I missed the show. But this trip I made her potty before we got in the building. I finally got to see it. The singers before the show were AWESOME. I cried it was so beautiful.

I decided to brush Grace's hair after the show. Her ponytail holder popped. I didn't have an extra one and I wanted her hair to be fixed. I went into the gift shop in Morocco and asked the cast member working if they had any to sell. They didn't but she had an extra one and gave it to us. She was a sweetheart. Grace posed with her for a picture.

It was raining so bad this afternoon and evening. I had some cheap emergency ponchos in my bag. I bought different colors so we each had a different color. I got Faron a black one. I was thinking Saints when I bought it. Well, when he put it on it looked exactly like he was wearing a Hefty bag. We laughed at him and teased him. It was so funny.:rotfl2:

We had a birthday dinner planned for Courtney and her roommate Sam was meeting us at the restaurant. We ate at Via Napoli in Italy. The pizza was so good. Grace was at meltdown stage by this time. She was acting up and I could not wait to just get back to the room. This was a long day. The waiters came to sing Happy Birthday to Courtney.

As we were walking out of the restaurant Illuminations was going on. Grace said, "Sissy, those fireworks are my present to you" I could have cried that was so sweet. It made a wonderful ending to our day.:hug:

I am glad you are still reading along:thumbsup2 We got one with pepperoni and one with meat and veggies. I actually forgot what exactly. It was really good and the pizzas are big. We had leftovers.

I told her I put it in her suitcase;) She never asked about it again. We gave it to a little girl who's family was checking in the day we were leaving. She was so excited!

I am sorry about the Soarin experience! I know how disappointing it can be when you have these high expectations of it being a magical moment. Hopefully she'll be ok with it next time y'all go.

Courtney got her coupon book, which is like a Christmas present from Disney for the Cast Members. It has an extra main gate pass for one day. She also gets 40% off merchandise until January. A code for Cast Members came out and we are getting our room for 60% off and the quick service dinning plan for $17.99 a day. We are using my friend's points so we didn't have to pay for our flight. We are going for three nights. We are using her discount on MVMCP tickets too. The best part is I get to see my girl again:hug:
