Hoping to take my extended family to WDW in Dec 2003 or perhaps Jan 2004. We own at BCV, and while we would be able to fit in a 2 BR, I was hoping to try for a GV at OKW at the 7 month window.

My question is: If I book my 2 BR at BCV with my points and keep that ressie intact, can I still waitlist for the GV day to day at the same time, even if technically there aren't enough free points in my account? And then if the GV becomes available, can I just have all the points be used for the GV reservation, assuming that I haven't passed that 30 day window?

You can't hold a room without actually booking it. So if you mean can you just keep your BCV ressie as is until/if all the GV days become available, the answer is "it depends".

If you waitlist for all the days to become available all at once, you can just switch your ressie at that time. You can use the points for your BCV ressie to pay for the GV ressie. (That method reduces your chance of getting all the days, however).

If you are waitlisting each day separately, you have to either:

* reserve the day(s) as they become available (and have the points to do that while still keeping the entire BCV ressie) or

* let the GV days go, or

* cancel the corresponding day(s) of your BCV resssie to book the GV day(s). However, that could result in moving back and forth if al the days do not become available.

Good luck! I hope you get the GV.

P.S. Have you considered "trading" ressies with an OKW owner? Maybe one of them would like to stay at BCV and have an 11 month window for that ressie.
