Hello TR friends!!

How is everybody doing??? I hope you all had a very nice Thanksgiving. :goodvibes

We have been away since Tuesday after school. Made the long drive down to Charlotte NC to visit family over the holiday. That was the longest car trip the kids have ever been on. They did very well. But none of us really care for car travel. So we won't be driving to WDW anytime soon. :rotfl:

We got home last night. Put up the Christmas tree today and did a ton of laundry and got groceries and all that fun stuff. Hope to get caught up on the DIS over the next few days!! :yay:

Hi Shelly! :wave2: Boy, you did go a long way for Thanksgiving dinner! ;) How many hours of driving is it to Charlotte? And did Jack go to the grandparents' this time? ;) Good for you getting your tree up already! You're way ahead of me!

We had a very nice holiday. DS and his dog (that could be a whole page, but I will spare you ) and DD and her boyfriend came for a couple of nights. We spent Thursday afternoon at my cousin's house, and Thursday evening at DH's sister's house. Ate waaayyy too much. :guilty:

Friday was tailgating, football, and more tailgating, so that took care of the whole day. Geaux Tigers!! :cheer2: No Black Friday shopping for me!

Saturday was my day to do nothing, and today I am cleaning the aftermath of the weekend! Hopefully tomorrow we can begin decorating for Christmas. Haven't decided whether to go real or go fake on the tree this year.

Looking forward to more TR updates!

Welcome home! Glad you had a nice visit with family!
I'm dreading the road trip to Florida. We've even changed our plans to leave a day early to avoid the kids losing sleep so we don't have a repeat of our last road trip. I wish we were flying!!!!

I didn't know you have family in Charlotte! See, I KNEW you had southern roots! And that explains the Mt. Dew obsession!

So did you guys do anything fun while you were in my neck of the woods?

Glad you had a safe trip and a nice Thanksgiving!

Gee Shelly, you were half way to Florida!!! Hope you had a good time!

Half of my family loves driving to WDW (or anywhere) and DD10 and I are the other half. We are both similarly impatient people. It's so hard for us! But DH does most of the driving so he's fine. Paige likes it. Not sure why. She's so much more laid back! Sadly, it appears that we will be driving in October.

Inquiring minds want to know...

Does turkey taste better in the South?????;)

Glad your trip was a wonderful time and you were able to spend it with family.

I put my tree up on Saturday!! Did something I've never done before. I said Self, you don't feel like going all out for Christmas this year- don't buy a real tree.

And so I didn't.:scared1: I've never NOT had a live tree and this year we just went shopping in our own basement. Pulled out one of the artificial trees we use for decorating in another room and Wallah.:lmao:(I know that isn't how you spell it.;););)) Instant tree.

:yay:

As for Black Friday-- didn't buy anything then either. I've spent about $100 since Tuesday of last week and it's been on eating out.

I've been very very good to myself and my checkbook.:lmao:

PS----
Teri- The crying and gnashing of teeth in this town after that beatdown was hysterical. And can I say that BP is Klassy as ever with that nasty comment, not to mention the handshake? We see him a lot in Starbucks here and, well... my mama said if you can't say anything nice, um, well, you know...................

Happy belated Thanksgiving to everyone!

Glad to see everyone is back here safe and in one piece.

And no, I didn't get pepper sprayed, beat up at H&M, or found dead in a mall fountain (all the things that occurred in the LA area on Black Friday).

Yes maybe it was a good thing you did not ask IPO for Mt Dew, they might have punished you for saying the bad words and given you the room with the ugly tree view. :rotfl2:

Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family too Shelly

Yes, I would have gotten the ugly tree room for sure!! :rotfl:

Thanks for the info on the sink Shelly.

You are one of my many DIS friends that I am thankful for.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!

You're welcome! :)

I am very thankful for you and all my DIS friends too!! :grouphug:
Your room looks exactly liked mine!! Our bathroom layout was a little different and we had no robes, but the rooms are the same...they are huge aren't they?!!

The rooms are very spacious, we loved it!! :goodvibes I think you got the better bathroom though!

Ahhh the Polynesian! BEAUTIFUL! I love all your room pictures! :cloud9:
Don't worry about not posting, it's a holiday week! Have a great Thanksgiving!

The Poly is beautiful for sure! :cloud9:

I hope you had a great holiday too!

Great update Shelly on your moving day into the Poly!

Love your room and the pictures! You never miss a thing!

Sea :cool1:

Thanks Sea! :goodvibes

We really just missed each other. B/C of hurricane Irene we had to stay 2 more days, so we ended up leaving the day before you checked in. We were in Tokelau 3rd floor. I thought the CL room would look a little different too but it looked exactly the same as ours. Can't wait for more Poly!!! Happy Thanksgiving :)

Wow we did just miss each other.

Nope, I think the CL rooms are pretty much the same as the others.

More Poly coming up soon!

Shelly, are you sure you weren't born in the south? I think your addiction to Mt. Dew qualifies you as an honorary southerner! Seriously, people around here are obsessed with Mt. Dew. We even saw a TV special on it one night about how so many people in the south have rotten teeth because all they drink is Mt. Dew! :rotfl: I am not kidding! :lmao: So don't drink too much of it, or then you'll look like one of us too!

The Poly looks so awesome! The room seems so big! I can't wait to see all your picture from around the resort. I've been there several times, but always at night so I haven't really seen all the beauty there.

I'm so glad you got a good room. I can just picture you guys out there lounging and taking in the gorgeous scenery. :cloud9: I'm ready to see that pool too! :worship:

I know I told you before but I love the buckets for the kids! Very nice touch!

 You know, when I was in the south over Thanksgiving I learned that most of the restaurants down there serve Coke products and not Pepsi. :scared1: :faint: I couldn't believe it!!

I actually only drink 1 Mtn Dew a day. With lunch. If I don't I get a headache and can't make it through the day! :scared1:

Lots of Poly coming up. We enjoyed every minute of being there!! :lovestruc

Poly looks gorgeous!

Hope you and your family had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Thanks Kim! :goodvibes Are you all ready for your big trip???:yay:

We did go a long way for Thanksgiving dinner!! About 500 miles to be exact! :faint: You know, if you could cut WV out of that trip it really wouldn't be bad. WV goes on FOREVER!!

So did you guys do anything fun while you were in my neck of the woods?

Glad you had a safe trip and a nice Thanksgiving!

My family is all from here originally, but some of them moved down there in the late 80's. They love it down there!! We had a really nice time.

We didn't have much time to explore the area and do too many things. My cousin did take us into downtown (I guess they call it uptown :confused3) Charlotte one night and we walked around and saw the sights and so on. It was fun!

Gee Shelly, you were half way to Florida!!! Hope you had a good time!

I know, DS10 said we should just keep on driving!! :rotfl:

I don't think any of us like road trips. DH's back started to hurt. DS12 and I are way too impatient. DS10 is more laid back and didn't complain too much, but he'd much rather fly!

After our bags were delivered to the rooms and went to the CL lounge. It was somewhere around noon when we went to the lounge. Since our room was on the third floor that's the CL entrance we used.

What beautiful views from the CL lounge! I would really think hard about staying CL IF I ever go back. I know I would love it! I guess I would just have to crunch the numbers.

The view from your room is really (half) pretty, too! ;) I love that you can see the pool. Hey, at least you didn't get the first room with the all-ugly view! And to have a balcony in the first place is :thumbsup2

DH and I just went and picked out a Christmas tree, so I guess I need to get the rest of house in order so I can start decorating!

That's funny how you said WV goes on forever......that's what everyone here says about Texas when driving out west. :upsidedow

Very nice view from the lounge! I would have been hanging around in there quite a bit. Was the food good in there? I don't suppose you can go too wrong with snacks, but what about the other stuff?

Your balcony view in the room was pretty nice too. I don't think that tree was too bad. I wonder why they don't cut it back though or just plant something smaller there. I think I'd be upset if I had paid Poly prices and gotten one of those rooms right in front of it with no view. they must get complaints about it from those rooms, so I wonder why they don't get rid of it? :confused3 Thank goodness those rooms keys didn't work the first time! :thumbsup2

And I just had to comment on the 70 degree Thanksgiving that you had. That's the norm around here. We rarely have a real winter. It's Nov. 28th and I have only worn long pants once so far since summer. I wear flip flops almost year 'round. Right now, I'm sitting on the patio in shorts, flip flops and a t-shirt and DD is running around bare footed. Our weather here is fabulous from September to May. Now if I could just turn back the weather thermostat from June-August, it would be perfect! Those three months are like living in a lava flow.

The CL food was okay. We sure weren't overly impressed. The afternoon snacks consisted of mostly 'kid stuff' - goldfish, gummies, and cookies. There were a few other things, but not many. It got kind of old after a few days. I think Jodi had much better offerings at the GF!

Yes, they really should cut that tree back some. I would guess they get plenty of complaints about those rooms that are totally blocked by it.

I could deal with 3 months of unbearable heat to get 9 months of pretty much perfect weather! :thumbsup2 Here we have the 4 seasons of -- almost winter, winter, still winter, and the 4th of July!!:rotfl: Sad, but true.

Wow, Club Level looks awesome. Great view! So beautiful. :)

Thanks, we sure enjoyed it! :goodvibes

The tree wasn't bad since it was off to the side for us. Those rooms that are looking directly into it wouldn't offer much of a view. But I bet it is easy to keep those rooms cool with all the shade!

Joining in ! (glad I'm not TOO late ;))

Loving all the pics. You have a great family.

I'm really thinking about doing CBR next time, although the Poly looks gorgeous .. CBR is a BIG step up from the All Stars and my boys will LOVE the slides. We spend a LOT of time swimming each day.

My boys would visit DTD every day if they had the choice .. they love the Lego store and eating at T-Rex along with all the other shops and stuff.

Can't wait to read more !!

I will say that the CL in the Poly looks a lot larger than what we had in SL. The Poly definitely has more tables and places to relax. More casual, laid back style too. And the view....:cloud9: So gorgeous!!!! Can't beat that at all! I think I would have just sat in there for hours looking out.

As far as the food--- I agree, I think the CL @ the GF offers more choices. We had breakfast, then midday snacks (veggies, breads, chips, dips- I honestly got full from them) and then tea with scones and such afterwards around 2-ish. I dream of their banana bread with devonshire cream..........:lovestruc I was really surprised at your lack of choices at the Poly.

Your view was a nice view! Very relaxing, love all the trees. I do hate that the Hawaii bldg has a smaller bathroom than some of the other longhouses. I wonder if they'll ever fix that? I don't know if they even would be able to, other than to build a whole new CL longhouse.

Great update once again!!

Poly CL looks like a vacation in itself! I could hunker down in there and spend a week gorging myself with sweets then spend another week at the parks. The boys look so happy with their cookies and soda in the CL! :goodvibes

The Poly is a vacation within itself!! :cloud9: I remember sitting by the pool one afternoon with our snacks and saying to DH -- This is the life (hence the title of the TR), I could seriously live here!!!! :goodvibes:lovestruc

Okay another Inquiring Minds question about your Southern Thanksgiving feast... did you have cornbread dressing in it's own dish on the side or did you have white bread stuffing that came out of the birds nether region??popcorn::

Just wonderin'...

Well that's a good question. And the answer - IDK!! :confused3:rotfl:

I don't eat cornbread or stuffing and there was so much food there that I am pretty sure that some of it never made it to our end of the table! :faint:

Yes, I would agree - the Poly has a nicer lounge, but the GF has better/more food offerings in their lounge! :upsidedow Guess you never really can have it all.

The smaller bathroom with only one sink really wasn't too bad. But we were only there for 4 nights, I might feel differently had we spent the entire 9 nights there!

Great update! I don't think your view was bad at all....even with the tree. :thumbsup2 Am I remembering correctly that you said you guys might make a trip back to WDW next May? There's a new special offer up on the Disney World site today which includes all of May. Here's the link: http://bookwdw.reservations.disney.go.com/ibcwdw/en_US/specialOfferDetails?name=Promo&promotionCode=fy12q2q3room&market=fy12q2q3room

Our dates are May 23rd to June 2nd. I didn't save a bundle using the special offer but I did save $491.88. That at least pays for part of our dining plan.

Congrats on your savings!! :cool1: Have you been there during that time of year before? How are the crowds?

We go to WDW every year at that time. The first part of the trip, the crowds are pretty low with only the major attractions having semi-long waits. The further along in the trip we go, the more people there are but they are still managable so long as we take advantage of Fastpasses. We avoid the Magic Kingdom on Memorial Day. Oh and Star Wars Weekends are usually taking place while we are there. If you don't want to join the SWW fans, then avoid Hollywood Studios on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

I was going to tell you about the Spring Offer that came out but I see someone beat me to it, that is because I was off changeing my March reservation which resulted in my changeing all but 2 of my ADRs. I could not believe they exculded CR from the new promo, it comes up but with only a 5% discount that is less than the FD I had sooooooooooo DH and I decided to move on over to the BWI and saved $1100
I always wanted to stay at BW and your trip there last year helped my decision to stay there too.
Had the CM make my request for a balcony, hopefully I will not go through what you did, I wonder how many rooms do not have a balcony :confused3

#5283 no balcony, # 5296 balcony facing Epcot

Great minds think alike

At least now if I check-in and the CM tells me room 5283 I can plead for another before ever heading to the room, now to just find out the other 2 room numbers that have no balcony.

After we were all done unpacking and settled into our Poly room DH & I decided to go on tour!

Our room was closer to the other side entrance/exit of the Hawaii building - not the main entrance on the CL/Check in side. So we headed out that exit and it comes out by the Tokelau building. From there we walked around to the front side of the Hawaii building.

Sounds like a plan Rinky :thumbsup2 By the way your TR had me over on the Disney Cruise site checking to see if there was one for when we are going in March since I saved $$$ changeing resorts but it was sold out, I am guessing it was the maiden cruise for the fantasy? IDK still confused so back to the drawing board and considering again the 2-day cruise to nowhere out of NY just to get my feet wet.

I think the Fantasy does set sail in March. That might be what the problem was. But the Fantasy is only doing 7 night cruises I believe. You need to check prices for the Dream if you want a 3 or 4 night cruise. I bet they still have some availability. To me, the DCL website takes some getting used to. It's not 100% user friendly.

I think the cruise to nowhere is a good first time cruise. The only problem I have with it is that you don't get to go to Castaway Cay and that was by far the best part about the cruise. It would be a bummer to miss that. But at least you could see if you like it before you put too much $$ into it. Please keep us posted on what you decide! :)

Sorry, I'm not very understandable ...
On Facebook, we are a group of four girls Disneyfans. We want to leave Florida in a few years. So we are looking for TR to illustrate the Florida!
But as the three other girls do not speak English, I wondered if it was possible to translate your TR to post it in this group on Facebook. I would translate the text, with a link to your photos.

I could live there too. I would survive on Dole Whips, and the turkey with peanut sauce and potstickers from O'hana. (I don't think they're funky. They're just misunderstood.)

I am loving the pics! It looks like everyone is so happy and relaxed and just having a magical time. :wizard: :cloud9:

We used to go commando with our WDW trips and be up and going from sun up til sun down. But, the past few trips have been so much more laid back and we have definitely spent more time relaxing and just soaking everything in. When you stay at the nicer resorts it's easier to do that for sure.

Oh I can't wait to go!!!! 64 more days til we can spend a week at the Poly :woohoo:
Your pictures make me even more excited. I have seen somewhere that they are doing a beach sand overhual. And somewhere else there was a bad review of the Poly because they said the beach was getting really swampy looking. Did you notice any of that? Hopefully the renovation they are doing on the beach sand (which just sounds really funny to me) will make it nice and pretty again for us in Feb :cloud9:

That Dole whip looks delicious! I had my first Dole whip EVER on our last trip. It was so good and I cannot believe I have never had one prior to that!:scared1:
Looking forward to reading about your Chef Mickey dinner, we slept in and missed our breakfast ADR there a couple of weeks ago!

I can't believe you never had a Dole Whip prior to that either!! :scared1: Glad you enjoyed it! :thumbsup2

We sometimes choose to sleep in over a breakfast ADR too. Well unless it is Kona!! :cloud9:

Those pictures of the Poly are beautiful and make me want to stay there one day. I have a plot  Booking a stay at the Poly and then trying to get his Mom to come, I have tried in fact we both have to get her to go places with us but she is afraid to fly, might have to drive :scared1: but she mentioned recently she would love to go to Hawaii after watching a show about Aulani well Poly is about as close as we can afford. :rotfl:

That dole whip so looked good

I love your plan!! :thumbsup2:cool1:

I am so excited to be seeing some Poly pics! I've never seen it during the day and I don't think I have ever read a TR from anyone who has stayed there. I can hardly believe that since I have read soooo many TRs. :confused3 It looks beautiful though! I love the waterfalls!

I know you loved having that dole whip machine right there to use any time you wanted! :thumbsup2

Well I'm happy to be sharing my Poly pics with you! :goodvibes Glad you are enjoying them.

I sure did love having that Dole Whip machine! ::yes::

Once again, beautiful Poly pictures! :goodvibes
Would you believe I've never had a Dole Whip? I know, I know... I shouldn't even be allowed on this board.
Aw, such cute ducks, haha.
I bet Chef Mickey's will be a fun update! :thumbsup2

Thanks! :goodvibes

WHAT??? :scared1::scared1::scared1: We'll let it slide for now -- but you must get a Dole Whip next time you are at WDW!! :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:rotfl:

Sorry, I'm not very understandable ...
On Facebook, we are a group of four girls Disneyfans. We want to leave Florida in a few years. So we are looking for TR to illustrate the Florida!
But as the three other girls do not speak English, I wondered if it was possible to translate your TR to post it in this group on Facebook. I would translate the text, with a link to your photos.

Sure, that would be fine.

Ahhhh. The Poly.

The Poly just automatically puts you in a relaxed happy mood. :cloud9: You are right, the nicer resorts really force you to take it easy and soak in the surroundings. :lovestruc

YAY for 64 days!! :cool1: Lucky!!

I have read some of those complaints too. The only thing I can think of that didn't look exactly perfect was maybe the beach at the far end in front of the Tahiti building..... But it wasn't terrible looking.

It was great to be able to get Dole Whips right there! :thumbsup2

You can only get Dole Whips though, no floats. But the good part is that you pay the cashier for the cup and then you can put in as much as you can fit into it! :goodvibes

Good morning everyone! I hope you all had a great weekend. :goodvibes

Let's see, when I last left off we were getting ready for dinner at Chef Mickey's.......:mickeyjum

After our time at the Poly quiet pool we went back up to the room and got showered and ready for dinner. I ran down the the CL check in desk to have them check my KTTW card from CBR to see how many TS credit's we had left. I was pretty sure we had 4 left and they needed to be used by midnight that night since we had checked out of CBR that day. One of the two CM's that had been there earlier when we checked in was still there. He was a younger man, probably in his 20's. I said to him – we were at CBR before we checked in here this morning......And before I could finish what I wanted to ask about the DDP credits he said – “Oh I won't judge you” :snooty: and laughed. I just smiled a little but was really thinking that was totally snobby and uncalled for. But whatever. Then I finished telling him that we had the DDP there which was expiring and asked if he could tell me how many credits we had left. He looked it up and we did have 4 TS credits, so that was good news – no OOP $$ for Chef Mickeys!

So I went back to the room and finished getting ready for dinner. We hoped on the monorail and were to the Contemporary in no time.

We checked in and waited about 10 minutes and were seated.

The food was good as always and the atmosphere very fun. But some of the guests were very rude. Pushing and cutting in line. Made it a little unpleasant. IDK if people think they are going to run out of food or what!! Or maybe they are in a hurry to get to the parks. Either way it is annoying!

The characters made their rounds and we had a nice time!

Good morning, Shelly! :sunny: Unfortunately, that sun does not represent our weather. Yuck. Gloomy, supposed to rain, high of 78. :sad2: It's December, for Pete's sake! And snow in Arkansas. Go figure. Hello, Jodi?????

I hope you had a nice weekend!

That comment by the CM was pretty crass! I doubt if that is in the Disney CM handbook. "Always point out that guests who stay Deluxe are superior to those who stay Value or Mod." Oh my......

Did y'all get to Chef Mickey's just as they were beginning to serve dinner? I'm asking because the buffet looks very fresh and full, like the hoards haven't descended upon it yet. For any of us buffet-phobes, that is something to keep in mind - go early!! That is a shame about the rude guests, but that seems to be common these days. :sad2: Why can't people just be courteous any more?

You have some great pics with the characters! How cute that you and Minnie matched! Did you plan that or was it just by chance? It must have been by chance, or you would have had a red and white polka-dot bow in you hair. I see you have on your cute necklace!

Great update! :thumbsup2

Well that sun does not represent our weather here either. :sad2: It's dark, gloomy, rainy, and about 48 degrees. Yuck!

Yeah, I thought that CM's comment was pretty uncalled for. You could tell he was one of those people who thought he was better than everybody else.

I think our ADR was shortly after they opened. We like to do that so the buffet isn't all nasty yet!! Everything was very good and the place was very clean. I just couldn't believe all the pushy people. :headache:

Yes my outfit was planned!! I found that tank top at Penney's last summer on the clearance rack for like $3 and I knew I had to have it for Chef Mickey's! I did mention something about wearing a bow in my hair but the kids said they would be embarrassed. :confused3:rotfl:

I can't believe that CM made that comment about CBR! It amazes me how differently people see things. I felt like I was royalty staying at CBR! :lmao: And to be honest, I thought CBR offered MANY of the same perks as the deluxe resorts. Covered bus stops, ceiling fans, a fridge, pool w/ slides, hot tubs, movie nights, campfires, table service restaurant, gorgeous grounds... I could go on and on. No it's not on the monorail or across the lagoon from MK, but come on... it's still a VERY nice place! What a snoot! :snooty:

We experienced the line cutters, pushers and shovers at the buffets on the cruise as well. I don't get people. They act like the food is never replenished so if they don't get it NOW, it's going to be gone. It's ridiculous.

I love your 'Minnie Mouse' outfit! Very cute! :cutie: And the one of your boys with her... :rotfl:

Okay it seems I missed your last post about touring the Poly grounds. They are so beautiful!! Cute pic of DS 12 on the balcony. And Really, what can you say about Dole Whip except yum!!

Shelly - Great pictures and report on Chef Mickey's. You should have wore the bow in your hair anyways - it is divine right as parent to embarrass your child at every and any opportunity. Anyways, those the food looks good, especially the desserts. I would have started off with the desserts first! :thumbsup2

Too bad the other guests don't have any manners. As my mom used to say, they must have been raised in a barn. I think you are right - they are just in a hurry to eat and run off to the parks - what a lame way to have a vacation - but there is no reason to be rude to other people because they have to eat and Pooh, I mean see Pooh.

And that CM - very unmagical comment. What is with some people? I would have spoke to a lead about that comment - it was backhanded put down.

I bet there are more people who spend more money visiting WDW by staying at CBR than staying at the Poly, because they can stay longer on property.

Anyways off my soap box.

As of now I have an ADR for breakfast also dinner. We did breakfast there years ago but have never done dinner so excited to try that. Of course I may change the breakfast by time March gets here, not sure yet. I know DH would prefer to just go to Cap'ts Grill for breakfast everyday.
I have Kouzzina scheduled for our last morning but JB changed our return flight time by 55 mins so not sure if we can make it or not for ME pickup. Might end up doing Boardwalk Bakery very early 6:30 am, earliest ADR for Kouzzina is 7:30am :confused3

Glad you are all caught up! I hope you had a nice Thanksgiving too. :goodvibes We always go somewhere else for Thanksgiving (usually my dad's) and then everyone comes here on Christmas. I planned it that way years ago when we had kids -- that way we don't have to drag them all over the place on Christmas day!

Yes, the CM's had to chase those ducks out of the quiet pool on several occasions! Then the dang things would come right back. :upsidedow

I have Kouzzina scheduled for our last morning but JB changed our return flight time by 55 mins so not sure if we can make it or not for ME pickup. Might end up doing Boardwalk Bakery very early 6:30 am, earliest ADR for Kouzzina is 7:30am :confused3

I guess we just don't really get into breakfast too many other places ever since we discovered Kona!!:goodvibes

You've changed resorts so many times I forget where you are staying!! BWI??? They also have breakfast in the Bell Vue Lounge there. We never went, but it's available. I think it's mostly continental stuff, so it's probably pretty cheap.

If you are staying at the BWI will you be going down the clown slide or are you scared of it???:scared1::rotfl: He's nice - I promise! :)

Thanks Sea! You're right - I totally should have worn a bow. :lmao:

I probably should have said something to that CM, or to his manager. IDK why I didn't. Guess I didn't want to bring down my Poly time. But yes, he was insulting many WDW guests and me with his stupid comment. :headache:

Glad you are all caught up! I hope you had a nice Thanksgiving too. :goodvibes We always go somewhere else for Thanksgiving (usually my dad's) and then everyone comes here on Christmas. I planned it that way years ago when we had kids -- that way we don't have to drag them all over the place on Christmas day!

Yes, the CM's had to chase those ducks out of the quiet pool on several occasions! Then the dang things would come right back. :upsidedow

No fear of clowns here, I grew up with Bozo and I think the themeing of the BWI pool is fantastic. Have not read anything on Bell Vue Lounge, I just thought by the name it was CL? :confused3

Glad to hear it -- enjoy the BWI pool, it's fantastic!! :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Belle Vue lounge is a bar on the lobby floor, but it serves breakfast items in the mornings. http://allears.net/menu/menu_bvl.htm
Looking back it probably would have been easier to get things from there than it was to stand in that huge line at the bakery!!

After dinner at Chef Mickey's we walked over to Magic Kingdom. It was a beautiful evening.

When we got there MK was all decorated for Halloween! We were surprised – we had just been there a few days prior and it wasn't decorated and it wasn't even September yet!!

Everything looked very cool!:cool1:

Our goal was to do a few things that we hadn't done at MK yet on this trip, plus have a few do-overs of our favorites! So we headed to Frontierland first.

Oh that Bakery is insane morning, noon, and night!! :scared1: There's almost always a line out the door.

I did check out the menu at Bell Vue so it is an option on our last morning too now says it is a QS but I am wondering if we can use snack credits there if not our TS credit on last day would be a waste, but lots of time to worry about that later. I would really like to keep the Kouzzina, just not sure how long they will take to serve us since we will need to be back for ME pickup now about 8:30 instead of 9:30 due to the flight time change  @ JB

Good night- reading your TR is NOT helping me right now. I am so badly wanting to be there!:goodvibes

Love the pictures- they were all very good! The one of the boys is really cute!

I love seeing the Halloween and Fall decorations in the MK. They sure are good at getting everything decorated in a fast pace! That happened to us once- but the switched over from Halloween one night with pumpkins and everything- to Christmas the very next morning. It was strange that they could do that in such a short amount of time.:rotfl: I guess they know what they're doing.

I can't wait to find out what you saw next...

I love all of the fall decorations in MK! I love how WDW can transform with decorations so quickly. On this past trip, we walked through the lobby of the GF at about 11PM and there were no decorations up. We went back through the lobby at 8:30 the next morning, and it was transformed into Christmas! It was so beautiful, and I have no idea how they got all of those decorations up so fast- including the tree!!
Looking forward to reading more about MK!

I just LOVE this pic of the castle! It looks like a postcard!

OK, now I will put on my Scrooge cap. Maybe it's because I don't get all hyped for Halloween, but I don't really like how they decorate the parks for Halloween. There, I said it. Flame away! :guilty: ;) Christmas decorations, I'm all for (never been there during the season, but would love to see!), but I don't like decorations for all the other holidays. If I went to DW a lot, and saw it the regular way often, then I guess I would enjoy seeing it decorated for the holidays more. But since we only go every few years (heck, it's been almost 5 years :sad2:) then I want to see plain ole Disney World.

And no, I didn't like the castle looking like a birthday cake, either.

Now that I'm done with that ;), I really like all your pics! That's a great pic of you and your DH, and this time we can even see your cute shoes! :thumbsup2

I love MK all decorated for Halloween. :lovestruc We have been there in the fall the last 2 trips and it just doesn't get old. I am excited to see it for Christmas though sometime soon hopefully!

When you were there in Jan were there still Christmas decorations up? I wonder how quickly they get those ones down. I keep my tree up for at least a week or two into Jan :lmao:

So, I think I remember you saying that you may have a new favorite park after this trip. Have we gotten to that part of the TR yet, or did I miss it. popcorn::

P.S. - Did you see my new ticker?! :cool1: We're staying at the Beach Club after our cruise in May. I am SO excited!

ETA: Booo.... my ticker is a huge red "X", so you wouldn't have seen it. Well. I'm going to the beach club. So, yay! :rotfl:

Love the pics at MK Shelly! I saw a special once on the Christmas decorating at MK and they said they work from close until dawn, have tons of people, and it's so super organized that they can do almost all of it in one night. But they have steps so that if they don't do all of it, the next night they do another thing and it never looks like they've left something partially done.

Walk on Jungle Cruise??? I've never seen such a thing!

I'm excited to see the fall/Halloween decor - it's one of the "special" times we have never been.

We met up with them and headed into Fantasyland and rode IASW, with no wait!

Then we made the long ugly trek (with lots of construction walls to look at) to Tomorrowland and watched Monsters Inc with about a 5 minute wait.

But since we only go every few years (heck, it's been almost 5 years :sad2:) then I want to see plain ole Disney World...

I agree!!! :yay:

You surely did pick a good evening for visiting MK. When I read that you did ISAW I felt sad since due to the FantasyLand Expansion when we go in March that will be closed permanately for the new Dwarfs Coaster. I like seeing new things go up but I do so hate that the older attractions have to go to make room for the new stuff. I am also dreading all the construction walls, no matter how much they try to "pretty" them up I still think they look ugly

Whenever I tell friends about the low crowds in August- nobody believes me! But I'm sure they're even lower the last few days leading into the first of Sept. Did you see a big difference from the beginning of your trip to the end? It's such an awesome feeling to just walk onto a ride. We didn't wait in many lines this trip either.

That's a great picture! I can never get that one to turn out. And I don't care how many times I go under that thing, I always think I am going to get wet!

Thanks for the ride through SM. I don't think I'll ever see the inside of that ride again since I can't stand the drop. I wish they had two rides in one... one the traditional way and one without the drop for ride chickens. And I'm all about a poncho on a wet ride. I can't stand to walk around wet!

Love the picture of the Liberty Belle too. That's really pretty with the reflection on the water. Man, I wish I was there right now. :guilty:

You always get such good pics on the inside of rides!! Mine never come out, unless I use the flash.:scared1: I know, big no no -- don't yell at me.:rotfl2: I don't do it if people are around us, which is most of the time. This past trip I *may* have yelled at someone on the HM b/c of they were using the flash. For the whole ride. Taking video. Wasn't my finest moment, but it got my point across.:rolleyes1

Anyway--- did you get wet at all on Splash with your ponchos on? When we were there the next week they didn't have the big water cannon shooting so we never got soaked.

Did you like the new Blackbeard mist in POTC? I wasn't a fan of it. Belle said he wasn't scary enough-- Davey Jones creeps her out, yet she loves it.

The non-existant crowds that night were awesome! I think you chose a great night for MK!!!:woohoo:

Looking forward to Wishes!:cloud9:

Thanks!! I never use the flash either, unless we aren't near anyone else. I know one time we rode POTC on this trip the lady behind me had hers on and took about 90 pictures. :scared1:

Nope, we didn't get wet at all on Splash. I don't think we even would have if we didn't have the ponchos on, other than a few drops. The water cannons weren't on for us either. They sure were the last time DS & I rode it last November and got completely soaked.

Okay that's weird that they didn't have the water cannons on in the summer when you really don't mind getting a little wet since it's so dang hot- and yet in November they had them on and you got soaked. :confused3 WDW must be in the misery business.:rotfl2:

I hope they do away with Blackbeard soon. I didn't care for the last movie either---- he just wasn't scary at all and he was supposed to be the most loathesome pirate ever!!pirate:

After Wishes we decided to take the boat back to the Poly instead of the monorail. The boat was full when we got there so we had to wait on the next one. Which seemed like forever. I don't know if they weren't running enough boats or if they were held up because of the Electric Water Pageant or what. Eventually we got on a boat, then it stopped at the GF, and then the Poly. It was about 9:50 when we got back to the Poly. We were hoping to be able to check out the night offerings in the lounge, but knew they were closing at 10. We went in and there were only a few things left. Several people had come in right when we did and were asking if there was more of this and that and they said they were all out. That was surprising. I know it was late, but jeesh!

I agree, it is magical! And I think we've found all the missing people!

And pretty soon Wishes began!

So eerie and spooky! I love this pic! These are some of the best Wishes pics ever. :worship:

If I managed to quote all the right pics, I should go out and buy a lottery ticket today. Because with my computer skills, that would be pure luck.

Better yet, maybe I should go out Christmas shopping, and maybe I would be lucky and find something for all the people I have no clue what to get. :sad2: I'm surely not getting it done here at home on the Dis!

Wish me luck!

Hey, I got it right! I forgot to add, what an interesting late-night snack. Cookies and beer! LOL! That's a shame they were out of everything. They should have things for a while after Wishes is over.

I didn't realize you would get so wet on Splash. It wasn't there the last time I went (thats how long ago it was). DS does not like getting wet, so I will have to plan for the ponchos. And you mentioned the getting wet in the 3D shows too? Which ones so I can prepare?

Glad you enjoyed all the Wishes pics!! :cool1:

Yes, Main Street is always crowded like that at parade & Wishes time. :scared1:

Good luck with your shopping!! :wizard: I need to finish mine too. Sometime. And start my baking. :upsidedow

Yeah, DH really wanted pretzels to go with his beer. He asked and they said all they had in the back was yogurt covered pretzels. Not really what he had in mind.

You can come off of Splash completely dry or soaking wet!! It's completely random. Last November DS and I rode it and came down the big drop and didn't get a single drop of water on us. Then we rounded the corner towards the end of the ride and a water cannon went off and completely drenched us head to toe and the people in the seat ahead of us were dry! :upsidedow

You don't get soaked by any means in the 3D shows, but be prepared to get a little spray. Philharmagic for sure. Muppet Vision as well I think. You can also get a little spray on Big Thunder Mtn RR.

Ok thanks. Not planning either of those shows and Thunder Mtn will be closed for refurbishment :( So we should be alright. We will have a stroller, so I can just throw the ponchos under that and then we will have them if need be :)

Perfect end to your MK evening. How did you like the new castle show. I am looking forward to seeing it, I hope it is still showing in March.

Too bad you had to wait so long for the boat back to the Poly that it made you get back to the lounge when they were about to close. I think they should keep the lounge open a bit longer. At least DH was able to get a beer.

Yep - just be sure to wear the ponchos on Splash and you should be fine! :thumbsup2

The castle show was nice. I didn't think it was anything spectacular, but it was neat. :goodvibes

Yeah, I was really surprised by the time it took to get back to the Poly after Wishes. I know we have taken the bus and been back to CBR, POR, and BWI in less time than that!

But yeah, at least DH was able to grab a beer (or two:rotfl:) before the lounge closed!

I didn't see the show or Wishes this time so seeing your pics was wonderful!!!!

Okay did your DS12 get that humongoid rice crispy MM head??? And if he did, did he eat it all in one sitting? And if he did, was he able to make it to the potty when he puked? Holy cow that thing was monstrous!!:upsidedow

I might have seen a few snacks in those cases that look really good to me about now! Yum, how do they make it all so wonderful?

You know my thoughts on the Poly CL staff not refreshing the items out at night, so I won't go into a tirade again...:rolleyes1

Cookies and beer....

Loved the postcard they left for you! What a nice gesture.:goodvibes

The kids & I got snacks in MS Confectionery that night, but I can't remember what. . . :confused3 Guess that's what I get for taking so dang long to write this TR!!! :faint:

Ok, please tell me what the castle projection show is? Somehow me missed that and I'm not exactly sure what they do. Are the pictures from PP that were taken that day or something else?

We had a similar experience waiting on the boat going to the Poly. IT TOOK FOREVER!!! And we were trying to get to an ADR, so it was stressful. We'll take the monorail next time!

Looked like a really nice evening. Is there anything better than watching Wishes?

Hi Shelly,
I loved reading about your MK night!:) I love Wishes, it's so special. We only got to see Holiday Wishes this trip, but that was just as fantastic! That's too bad about the Poly not having much dessert out when you got back. We were lucky at the GF this trip and everything was replenished, even at 9:50PM when we got back one night.
Sorry I haven't posted much lately...work has been so busy, and on top of Christmas shopping and everything else...we are getting a puppy on Saturday!:goodvibes We are very excited. It is bittersweet, because we all (especially DD20) really miss our dog who passed away in May. As you know, we still have another dog who is one year old, so we are excited for him to have a play mate!

IDK what is up with those boats. :confused3 People sure love them but I have never seen the advantage. Takes too long and can't hold enough people!!

Nope, not too much better than Wishes. :cloud9:

Congrats on the puppy. Believe me, I know how bittersweet it is. As much as I love our puppy I can't help but to think of why he is here just about everyday. :sad1: I'm sorry you and your family are still grieving. It's rough.

I think that may have been the first time we actually bought anything in that store. We usually just browse through it on our way out of the park. They have so much stuff in there!

I saved the chocolate post card for quite awhile. Actually it was only a few weeks ago when I finally let the kids dig into it. I took a bite and it wasn't good chocolate. :scared: But it sure was cool looking! :thumbsup2

I liked the new castle light show. I had to watch it bymyself though b/c the night we said we were staying- the boys didn't want to. At least I was able to enjoy it without any whining :)
The candy shop looked yummy. We haven't been in a while we'll have to stop by this trip.
Great pics of the castle- loved the one that the castle was 2 different colors!

Hey everyone  I hope you all had a nice weekend. Mine was super crazy!! :faint: Let's start the new week with a new day of the TR:

Day 7 – Thursday September 1

Our first full day at the Poly!

We wanted to go to Epcot later this day, but were really in no hurry to get there. Our mission was to enjoy the Poly and all it has to offer today!

So we slept in a bit and then headed to the CL lounge to get some breakfast. The offerings were pretty much what you would find at any hotel with a continental breakfast. Which was fine with me, I don't usually eat breakfast anyway.

After we were all done there we went back to the room and got changed into our swimsuits and headed out to check out that awesome volcano pool!!

I'm not sure exactly what time it was when we got out there – maybe just after 10 – but there was only one table/chairs to be found so we grabbed it up! It was right by the slide entrance and ended up to be a great spot!

The kids jumped right in and were having a great time. The pool wasn't too crowded yet, so it was very nice. I had heard that the volcano pool is ALWAYS crowded and not big enough for the resort, so I was definitely worried that would be the case on a hot summer day.

Wow Shelly, those pictures are awesome! I love the pics from the top of the slide. What a view! The slide looked like a lot of fun too. We really enjoyed having one at CBR this year. A pool isn't nearly as much fun without one.

That pool looks awesome! It looks like it was a lot of fun. We didn't spend much time at the pool this trip as it was cooler in the later afternoons when we wanted to swim. I guess thinking back on it we should have spent a morning or two at the pool when it was warmer!
We had a crazy weekend too...we got our puppy!:goodvibes He is a golden retriever named Bear. He is too cute. Our other dog, Buzz, just loves him. It makes me so happy, since Buzz really misses our dog Woody who passed away recently. Bear has been very sleepy since he came home, which is so surprising! When we got Buzz he was crazy. I am betting that this is only a phase and that he will be up to no good in no time!!!
Have a good day!:)

What fun at the pool! Now tell me, what did you do with your camera after taking those pictures from the top of the slide? Did you just walk back down or take it with you on the slide?

Your younger DS is so cute - he has that smile and eyes that make you think he might just be up to something devious! Especially in the picture with the breakfast food in front of them.

We love the pool slides at WDW, that's why we haven't made it to a Value resort yet!

Congrats on your new puppy!! :lovestruc I'm so glad Buzz loves him. I know he must miss Woody terribly. What does the puppy think of Buzz? Enjoy Bear while he is sleepy, and not trying to eat your furniture!! :upsidedow:rotfl:

We had a blast at the Poly pool! :cool1: I wasn't going down the slide that time. I just thought the views were super cool so I made a special trip up with my camera and then came back down.

Everyone loves DS10's smile!! :) He does look like he's up to something though, doesn't he?!! :confused3

The puppy LOVES Buzz! It is so cute...Buzz always wants to go in the puppy's pen in the house, so we let him and the puppy snuggles right up to Buzz! Bear was one in a litter of eight, so I think it is a comfort for him not to completely have no other dogs around. Hopefully they will continue to get along this well!

Love the update, Shelly! What a view from the CL lounge - just beautiful! And I'm talking about those cinnamon rolls. What I wouldn't give for one of those right now!

Great pics of the volcano pool. The boys look like they're having the time of their life! That slide must be pretty high! From your camera view at the top, it looks like you're way up there. :scared1: If I ever get the chance to stay at the Poly, I would have to be sure and set aside at least half a day just hanging out at the resort and absorbing it all. :goodvibes

When do the boys get out of school for the holidays? I think the schools here have tomorrow and half a day Wednesday and then out for a couple of weeks. Now I have work schedules to worry about with my kids instead of school. DD has to work Christmas Day....and overnight, too. It will be her first Christmas not being home. And it makes me almost cry thinking about it. :sad1: We're thinking about possibly driving after Christmas dinner and surprising her with a plate and one of her gifts. Not sure if that will work out, but thinking about it!

I bet he loves having another dog to lay with and play with!! I think that's what was so rough on Jack when we first brought him home. Although he was from a litter of only three, he was still so scared and lonely those first few nights.

Great update!
I've probably said this before but sometimes feel like I'm looking at my own vacation pics lol :)
I took the same pics from the top of the slide and of my boys coming down- of course making the rock sign with their hands lol!!
The pool didn't look crowded at all. We tried to get there earlier and earlier just to get a table. They definately need a bigger pool and deck with more seating.
If you don't get to do another update- (I know it's been hard for me to even get on the computer) have a very Merry Christmas!

Good morning! :goodvibes Are you all ready for Christmas? :santa: I think I am. The shopping is done! I finished the last of my baking last night. DS10's Christmas party at school was yesterday. Today is their last day. DH has a half day tomorrow and then he is off through Tuesday.

We will have Christmas with my mom and brother and SIL and nephew on Saturday. My dad and step-mom will come here later in the day on Christmas day. And I'm not sure yet when we will see DH's parents, probably Friday night or sometime Monday I suppose. They are sort of last minute planners, which drives me nuts!! :crazy2:

So I think I will squeeze in one more update before things get totally crazy around here!! And I apologize for dragging this TR out. I fully intended to have it done before Christmas, but life kind of got in the way. So it looks like it might go on for another month or so with the holidays. :scared1: I hope I'm not boring anyone!!!

When I left off we were still at the Poly pool:

After quite a few hours at the pool the kids said they were ready to go back to the room and play and watch TV for awhile. DH and I weren't quite ready to leave our wonderful spot yet, so I took the kids up to the room and they got changed and then I took them into the CL lounge to get some of the afternoon snacks to take back to the room.

The afternoon offerings were pretty much the same as the day before. Maybe a few different items.

http://i1122.photobucket.com/albums/l531/Disneyfamilyfour/Disney%20Aug-Sept%202011%20Part%2011/7b881b71.jpg

After I got them all situated I went back down to the pool to see what DH was up to. And he was on the phone with his boss.

So I dropped off a few cookies and drinks I had picked up in the lounge for us and then went into Captain Cooks to get us something small for lunch.

http://i1122.photobucket.com/albums/l531/Disneyfamilyfour/Disney%20Aug-Sept%202011%20Part%2011/4cf5a99c.jpg

I ended up getting a flatbread pizza for us to share. It was pretty good. Total cost: $7.45.

http://i1122.photobucket.com/albums/l531/Disneyfamilyfour/Disney%20Aug-Sept%202011%20Part%2011/3257431f-1.jpg

After we were done we sat there for a little while longer just soaking in the Poly atmosphere and loving every second of it. And that's when I said to DH – This is the Life, I think I could live here!! :cloud9: (Where I got the idea for part of the title of this TR!)

After awhile we reluctantly made our way up to the room and rested for a bit and then got ready for our evening in Epcot.

We decided that it was probably easier to just walk over to the TTC and take the Epcot monorail from there, rather than taking the Poly monorail all the way around to the TTC and then changing to the Epcot monorail. So that's what we did. We enjoyed our little walk over to the TTC, but by the time we got there it had started to sprinkle. The sky was dark and we were glad we had packed our umbrella and ponchos.

I don't think I have ever arrived at Epcot by monorail! If I have, it's been so long ago that I've forgotten. I'll have to add that to my list of must-do's for my next trip. The way it looks, I'll have a very long list by the time I ever get back. :sad2:

Like everyone else, I've been busy getting everything done for Christmas. I've finally finished my shopping and wrapping. :faint: I told my DH this morning that I have wrapper's back from sitting on the floor for hours wrapping presents. So I treated myself by cleaning house and mopping today! Yesterday my DSis and I cooked seafood gumbo to freeze and have after Christmas when my DD gets to come home. Tomorrow I will begin cooking or preparing to cook my Christmas Eve and Christmas dishes.

I have loved following your TR and it is NOT boring!! It's fun seeing all your wonderful pics of your family and hearing how to do Disney the right way! I will be a different person on my next trip. ;) My DH will faint when I say we are going to sleep in and have a resort day.

I hope you have a happy and blessed Christmas. I'm looking forward to pics of your boys (you haven't shared what they are wanting from Santa this year) with all of their new surprises. Be sure and include a pic of Jack in his Christmas outfit! ;)

I'm sure I'll check in on the Dis between now and Christmas, but I just wanted to wish you a Merry Christmas just in case! :santa:

P.S. Where the heck is Jodi???

As far as what the boys want for Christmas -- expensive stuff!! :faint: Good grief, I told DH it is going to look bare under the tree because everything they want is about $50+. :sad2: Mostly video games for DS12 and Lego sets for DS10. But hey, they will be happy!! :yay: Little Jack may be getting a few things too!

I think it has been years since we took the monorail to Epcot, I recall taking it the first two trips when stayed at the Travelodge in Hotel Plaza Blvd and their buses I think dropped us off at the TTC . I love the monorail but it looks like this trip will be another non-monorail trip. DH decided we will rent a car this trip for going to MK and DTD(as of now we are skipping AK).........Who is this Man? He never use to want to drive while on vacation unless absolutely neccessary and now he would rather drive than take the bus :confused3

I was all done shopping then found out My Ddil's Mother will be visiting with her when she comes over on Christmas Day so had to run out today to Target and pick a something for her. Now if I could just hire an elf to wrap everything I'd be all set.

Hope you and your family have a safe and wonderfull Christmas and that Santa is good to everyone :santa:

We were probably on our third or fourth trip before we discovered taking the monorail to Epcot! :upsidedow

I can't believe you guys are renting a car!! Guess people change! I don't think my DH will ever change his mind about not wanting to drive on vacation. I think even if we drive to WDW he would still want to take the buses and monorail to the parks! :rotfl:

Glad you got all your shopping done! Too bad you still have all the wrapping to do. :scared1:

I hope you and your family have a very Merry Christmas as well. :santa::goodvibes

I hope to one day, spend some nights at the Poly! Just to be that close to MK would be awesome!!!
Have a Merry Christmas and good luck with all of the family visits. I'm almost happy that we don't live around family. I don't have anywhere to go and no one to visit me! :thumbsup2

I hope you get to stay at the Poly someday too! :wizard: It is a wonderful place. :cloud9:

Merry Christmas to you too! :santa:

Don't worry about taking long to update. I've been so busy, it gives me time to stay on top of the updates. Plus, I hate when trip reports are over, it's always a sad moment. I get used to regularly reading about other people's trips. :goodvibes:

I love seeing Epcot from the monorail before going in. :)

I know, everyone is so busy this time of year!! :crazy2: So maybe slowing down on here isn't a bad idea! I had just hoped to have it done by now. The details are getting kind of fuzzy! I don't take notes, just go off of memory and my pictures. But you are right, it is always so sad when a TR is over.

I am hearing driving to MK is not such a good idea, since you have to park at the TTC and then take a tram to the park, or take the Monorail or walk which I am hearing is a long walk. I am going to present the new info to Dh and he may change his mind yet about driving. We drove to Disney and did not use our car for the parks only for going to US, SeaWorld and FT Wilderness for HDDR.

Yeah, I have heard many people who drive say that they don't drive to MK because it's too much of a hassle.

My friend said he heard a rumor that "The one more day" refers to Leap Day, Feb 29. And that the parks will be open for 24 hours. I totally agree w/ the Leap Day thing b/c that would make "one more day" than normal. The 24 hours part, I'm a little iffy on that.

Okay, back to business:

In no time we were off the monorail and entering the park!

http://i1122.photobucket.com/albums/l531/Disneyfamilyfour/Disney%20Aug-Sept%202011%20Part%2011/4c2a847e.jpg

We headed straight for The Land. We got fastpasses for Soarin and then rode Living with the Land.

http://i1122.photobucket.com/albums/l531/Disneyfamilyfour/Disney%20Aug-Sept%202011%20Part%2011/7381547b.jpg

Our fastpasses for Soarin weren't good for awhile so we went to World Showcase for a bit. I had been wanting to see one of the WS films for the last few trips. Any film, didn't care. And I had never been able to talk any of the boys into it. So this time I put my foot down and said – we are going to see Impression de France, let's go!! So off we went. With 3 reluctant boys!!

http://i1122.photobucket.com/albums/l531/Disneyfamilyfour/Disney%20Aug-Sept%202011%20Part%2011/a78e4d39.jpg

And we finally made it! And guess what??? Everyone enjoyed the show! It wasn't near as boring as they expected!

http://i1122.photobucket.com/albums/l531/Disneyfamilyfour/Disney%20Aug-Sept%202011%20Part%2011/4efffcf4.jpg

http://i1122.photobucket.com/albums/l531/Disneyfamilyfour/Disney%20Aug-Sept%202011%20Part%2011/63e59811.jpg

Now it was time to go use our Soarin fastpasses!! Too bad when we exited the film it was raining outside. And was getting worse by the minute. So I got out the ponchos. It was pretty miserable walking through Epcot in the rain with the ponchos on and the wind blowing the hoods off our heads!

You can sense DS10's misery in this pic!

http://i1122.photobucket.com/albums/l531/Disneyfamilyfour/Disney%20Aug-Sept%202011%20Part%2011/d86e42fe.jpg

He wanted to smile, but he just couldn't quite do it! This was while we waited for Soarin. And when we got to the front of the line they made us take our ponchos off. We had only brought one for each of us, so we had to hold onto the nasty wet things. We stuffed them under our seats for the ride and tried to enjoy our flight!

http://i1122.photobucket.com/albums/l531/Disneyfamilyfour/Disney%20Aug-Sept%202011%20Part%2011/d1cd4236.jpg

http://i1122.photobucket.com/albums/l531/Disneyfamilyfour/Disney%20Aug-Sept%202011%20Part%2011/6a08c704.jpg

Now there's a real smile! You can't help but to smile when you are on Soarin!

http://i1122.photobucket.com/albums/l531/Disneyfamilyfour/Disney%20Aug-Sept%202011%20Part%2011/ce5a1a93.jpg

We grabbed some more Soarin fastpasses when we got off and then we were all getting hungry. So we were headed to Mexico for some dinner!

Up Next: Dinner at La Cantina

Love the picture of Jack underneath all those wrapping papers! Reminds me of my cat. He is super happy to have a cardboard box filled with tissue paper. It was his "gift" last year, and he still uses it. So this year we filled it with new tissue paper. If only kids were this cheap this please. :lmao:

Oh the joy of going to WDW in early September. You can get to Epcot way after rope drop, get Soarin' FPs for just a few hours later, and then when you return to ride, get more Soarin' FPs!

I am very curious about the Disney announcement on New Year's Eve. We are seriously considering a trip to WDW the last week of August. Shelly - great Christmas photos. You'll have to tell me how Skylander is. DS is asking for it and I just don't know. We talked to the guys at Game Stop about it. He said its a great game, just the thought of having to buy all the "characters" to get to all the parts of the game is a bit overwhelming.

The only time we've dealt with rain in Disney was our last visit in February a few years ago - at it was pouring at Epcot. There is nothing fun about walking around World Showcase in the pouring rain. We were soaked. We lasted a little while, but soon it was just not any fun.

The only time we've dealt with rain in Disney was our last visit in February a few years ago - at it was pouring at Epcot. There is nothing fun about walking around World Showcase in the pouring rain. We were soaked. We lasted a little while, but soon it was just not any fun.

I had a friend get that for her DH for Christmas and they LOVE playing it.

Thanks! :santa:

The kids are loving Skylanders!! Of all their gifts it is what they are playing with the most. But yes, it can get costly. The game itself (and all the junk that came in the pkg) was $70. And a 3 pack of the characters is $20. I had the grandparents get them each a 3 pack. You can also get just 1 character for $8.

You are right -- there is nothing fun walking around WS in the pouring down rain!

I'm always afraid I'm gonna drop my camera if i try and take a picture on Soarin'. :scared1: Great pictures and update!

 I make sure to have the wrist strap wrapped around my wrist a few times!!

Thanks, glad you enjoyed the update!

Shelly- Glad to hear that you are enjoying your time off as well.:goodvibes
The puppy has been doing very well! He is not having nearly as many accidents, and is still sleeping a lot!
We are most likely going to be in WDW in August! You will have to let me know if you decide on an August trip. My family would love to meet your family!:goodvibes

P.S. Check out my new ticker!

Well that's good news -- less accidents and still sleeping a lot!! :cool1::laughing: Jack never wants to take naps during the day anymore, he's too afraid he'll miss something! :rotfl:

We wanted to go in May, but it doesn't look like that is going to work out, so it just may be the end of August again! :yay:

Love the new ticker!! :thumbsup2

Are you missing me yet???

:rotfl2:

Can I just say that this has been one of those Christmases that never ends and it hasn't gotten any better yet?? :headache:

Oh well... life continues.

I'm sorry I've missed so much here--- your updates are wonderful.

Loved the Christmas pics- I'm so glad that the boys had a great time. Including your excessively hairy son. Those are adorable pics--- you should frame the one of Jack in the paper.

Great update from Epcot too!! I hate WDW in the rain-- I know people say just put your poncho on and deal with it-- but I'm such a brat that I think it should never ever ever rain on my parade. :rolleyes1
It's ok I guess if it's just sprinkling- but the downpours-- uh-uh. Miserable. And then you're wet and feel gross.

The pic of DS10 on Soarin is so precious-- loved it. What a smile.:cloud9:

I hope all is well with you---
Happy New Year to you if I don't get back on here before then!!

Love the Soarin' pics ! Although the person in the background that is leaning over the front really weirds me out. :scared1: I'm too scared to MOVE on that ride .. never mind lean over.

Yeah rain really stinks .. we had a week of it when we went there one October and it was miserable. :sad2: I'm sort of thinking it could go either way for our April trip .. hopefully we'll have a DRY week. :goodvibes
