Well we splurged....

bought all new appliances(fridge,dishwasher,stove,microwave & dryer)ALL(except dryer)in stainless steal!!!!Although we bought them at a Sears Outlet so they were discounted!I don't think we will be able to afford to eat now though!!haha
We had our house up for sale but took it off the market and decided to "make it the way we wanted it"!Soooo we started with the kitchen!Took out the old backsplash,ripped out the old countertops and we are having new backsplash installed along with Corian countertops and sink!!!I'm SO excited!Never thought I could do this but Corian is having a promotion now so it made it affordable!(we have a fairly small kitchen!!!)
Thank god for refinancing and LOW rates!!haha
Did you ever think that appliances would excite you?Maybe a sign of my age!!!!!

Thanks Laurie!I'm sure we will!My DH and I both love to cook and our old appliances were either hand me downs or bought 10+years ago and needed some "help"!The waiting is the worst!It is going to be about a month before the new countertops are in!Just before we go to WDW!!!!Yah!

Good for you! We did this 2 years ago. We tried buying a new home, and that fell through. I couldn't spend another year in my little house! We did an additiona and bought all new appliances and flooring. I now LOVE my house. And we took out a home ex loan and left our mortgage alone. My house will be paid in 7 years and my home eq in 9, I would't change a thing!

I am sooooo jealous! I'm about to replace my refrigerator any DH saw a stainless one he likes, but I won't do it unless I can have everything to match. Enjoy your new kitchen.

We have stainless steel appliances as well. Set us back a pretty penny when we bought them, but now its paid off I wouldn't have it any other way. My philosphy is you should make the place you spend the most time in just like your castle, or as close as you can afford.

The only problem is I'm over cooking everything!!LOLI have to get used to them!My fridge is a side by side(never had one before!)and the front of the drawers are clear-I can't tell you how many times I have reached for something and slammed my hand forgetting it's in the drawer!!Dishwasher has child lock on it and I keep forgetting!When I go to start it I keep thinking something is wrong with it until I remember to unlock it!!I've had no problems with the dryer so far!!!!!Microwave is being installed today-I'm sure I'll battle with that too!
Having a lot of laughs anyways!
