Do you use the "do it" menthod:p , a chores jar, etc? My kids are 8 and 13 and have their basic core chores (making bed, feeding animals, etc) but would like to add a few more.

Our son has until Sunday to complete his chores. If he has them completed by Sunday we give him his weekly allowance. If not, he has to do them all on Monday for free. ;) He's only had to do them on Monday a couple of times. :bounce: :bounce:

Would you mind telling how old your child is and what chores they do?

It's a pretty simple system at my house. Since I don't work and I'm pregnant, if it won't hurt the baby, I do it. If it's too heavy for me or involves toxic fumes, DH does it.

It's basically me doing all of it:D
My DS 13 will pitch in & do whatever I ask him to usually. He is supposed to take the trash out every Thursday but somehow I seem to end up doing it 1/2 the time because he "forgets".
My DD 13 is pretty much useless, she doesn't do anything unless she's trying ot get out of trouble or needs extra money badly.
DS 6 helps out a little but he's not old enough to do too much.

When I tell DH to do something he does it. I make it close to equal for us ;) :teeth:

I do it, or I tell the girls to "do it".

You mean Simba doesn't do any chores!!!   ;)
I tell dd what chores she has to do and she does them. Since I am not working right now my dh only does the 'outside' chores and any really heavy ones inside. I do the vast majority of the chores, of course, but I base the number of chores that I ask dd to do on what extracurricular activities she is involved with at the time, i.e., don't ask her to do much/anything during certain sport seasons, during heavy speech competitions etc.

I pretty much do most of the indside chores. Dh does the outside ones and the boys just keep their own rooms clean. They have to make their own bed every morning before school and make sure their bathroom is picked up ( tooth paste, tooth brushes and towels) before school also.
We have tried many times to have scheduled chores which they would get paid for but that usually lasts about a week!
