JAMBO everybody! For those of you who know us, welcome to another TR and for those who don't, welcome to what I hope will be an exciting and fun TR for you to read. All the details of this TR are in our PTR that you can find in my siggie:goodvibes

Alright, time to get this started! We were fortunate enough to travel once again with my sister and her family for a fun filled 2 week stay at the Happiest Place On Earth! We were there from August 21 - September 3, we stayed at AKL in a 2 bedroom villa which we loved, once again, beyond belief! I have grown to love AKL (SSR was my favorite and is still a close second) especially the homey feel that it has. My sister and her hubby bought into DVC in 2008 and we took our first DVC vacation with them in 2009!

Let me now introduce us to you!
http://i590.photobucket.com/albums/ss349/Queenofallthings/147.jpg
My darling daughter who will be 19 at the end of next month who is known here on the Dis as Jasmine, my BIL, Geodoc and my 11 year old niece Snow White.
http://i590.photobucket.com/albums/ss349/Queenofallthings/148-1.jpg
My 7 year old niece(she turned 7 while we were there which was a very exciting day for her) Mini Montana, my sister Purplepeg, and me, Queenofallthings!
http://i590.photobucket.com/albums/ss349/Queenofallthings/149.jpg
Lastly, Jeff, Jasmine's boyfriend of almost a year! It was his first trip to the world and he loved it (good thing if he's in this family) and can't wait to return! This was his signature look for the first few days, everything was thumbs up!

Let me begin with our day on August 20 which was a Saturday! Jasmine was supposed to work 1:30pm - 9:30pm that day which we looked on as a blessing considering we had manicures and pedicures booked for 9am that morning! Turned out though that she was able to only work until 530, one of her work buddies took the rest of her shift!
http://i590.photobucket.com/albums/ss349/Queenofallthings/001-4.jpg
Nothing I love more than a pedicure...ok, one thing, my Tim Horton's coffee, right Pooksma? As you can see, I look pretty darn happy. We had stopped at Walmart on the way to the salon for a couple of last minute items, then to grab coffees and we were set! While I was getting my pedi and mani, Jasmine was getting a trim...worked perfectly!
http://i590.photobucket.com/albums/ss349/Queenofallthings/005-5.jpg
My BFF Brenda came to spend the morning with us as we wouldn't be seeing each other for 2 weeks, this never happens and if it does we at least talk on the phone! Her daughter Kayla works part time as the receptionist at the salon we go too so I had to snap this shot of 3 of my favorite people!

After we were finished it was off to get Jasmine something to eat before dropping her off at work. I went straight home from there and relaxed...yup, you heard me right, I relaxed. I was as up to date on everything that I could be so I just wanted to enjoy my afternoon at home, the house was cleaned top to bottom, the packing was done except for the last minute items after our showers and I was a happy girl!

We have a tradtion before we leave on our vacation and that tradition is going to our local steakhouse, The Keg! It's something we've done since 1998 on our first trip...it's as much a part of our vacation as getting there! This year our Dad and Geodoc's mom joined us, along with 2 of Peg and Geodoc's friends who love Disney as much as we do!! They are 2 of the nicest people I have ever met and hope we can get together soon to chat all about this trip!
http://i590.photobucket.com/albums/ss349/Queenofallthings/006-3.jpg
Snow White, Geodoc's mom, and our Dad
http://i590.photobucket.com/albums/ss349/Queenofallthings/007-4.jpg
Jasmine, Peg, Me, and Mini Montana. I have absolutely no idea why I don't have pictures of our friends or Geodoc, maybe Peg took them with her camera?? After a fabulous dinner it was time to get 2 little girls home to bed for at least a few hours of sleep! Wake up time would be coming very quickly!

Jasmine and I said our goodbyes to my dad and it was harder than I thought it would be. For those of you who don't know, we lost our mom 2 weeks before our trip and tried to get our Dad to join us but he said it was just too soon but insisted we all still go. I cried on the way home because I knew how lonely he was going to be with all of us gone!

We arrived home within about 15 minutes and Jeff and his family arrived about 15 minutes after that. They had a church function that evening so they weren't able to join us. Jeff was beyond excited by the time they got to our house. Jasmine decided early on that she had to try and sleep but Jeff knew he would feel worse so he just grabbed the laptop and played one of his videogames while I was on the phone with my Aunt who lives in Toronto.
http://i590.photobucket.com/albums/ss349/Queenofallthings/008-5.jpg
Before we knew it, it was time to shower and finish getting everything packed! The limo (it's cheaper than two families to get two cabs) was due to pick up Peg and family at 330am and then us (we're about 15 minutes from Peg). Luggage all set and ready to the loaded!
http://i590.photobucket.com/albums/ss349/Queenofallthings/009-5.jpg
Two happy happy kids! I just knew this was going to be an awesome vacation!
http://i590.photobucket.com/albums/ss349/Queenofallthings/010-3.jpg
Jessica, here's your picture honey! Jasmine reminded me that you said "get a picture with the limo" she adores you!! We were thrilled when Geodoc texted us and said "look for the black SUV limo coming down the street"....thank goodness, Lord knows we needed that space for the luggage for 7 people!
http://i590.photobucket.com/albums/ss349/Queenofallthings/011-2.jpg
My sister and her very happy family!
http://i590.photobucket.com/albums/ss349/Queenofallthings/012-4.jpg
Me and my favorite girl on earth! Now, those of you who read our PTR know that Peg's girl's didn't know Jeff was coming so here's what we did. I gave Jeff the housekey while Jasmine and I took the luggage out to be loaded. I told her to get into the limo and talk to the girls so she could distract them while Jeff put the alarm on and locked up the house. I looked at the girls and said "Well, it looks like we're all here and they said yup...when Jeff popped into the limo and said "hey, what are you guys doing in my limo?" I wish I could have captured the look on MM's face! Her mouth literally dropped open and her eyes were as wide as saucers. It brought happy tears to my eyes, I knew all the fun times they were going to have with Jeff!
http://i590.photobucket.com/albums/ss349/Queenofallthings/013-5.jpg
What would become his signature pose.....everything was great in Jeff's world at this moment!
http://i590.photobucket.com/albums/ss349/Queenofallthings/015-2.jpg
We arrived at the airport within 10 minutes! Love living that close! Here's another picture Jessica!!
http://i590.photobucket.com/albums/ss349/Queenofallthings/016-6.jpg
We were flying United to Chicago then Chicago to Orlando! I was trying to keep my flight nerves in check, but I'm not gonna lie to you, a drink would have helped! Don't judge me, I too realize it's 4 am but a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do! Ok, I didn't...I just had a coffee!! We went straight to check in and the drama of the morning started! There was this crazy lady that kept interrupting the attendent that was trying to check us in...I mean nuts!!! She was with this other younger lady who had a pug on a leash and was carrying it's carry thingy(hope that makes sense). She doesn't realized this whole time she's in the wrong line and starts yelling at the attendents...Jasmine and I just gave each other the look! They her dog proceeds to start to go the bathroom...and she starts yelling "Great, now my dog is ^%&^& on the floor .... are you happy?" We all about lost it at this point, she was crazy and I couldn't stop laughing! So the older lady goes thru custom's and security after the young one and from the custom's line, she's yelling "Don't put the dog thru the xray machine". We were so thankful when Jasmine was able to see her boarding pass and it said DELTA!!!!! Crisis averted!!
http://i590.photobucket.com/albums/ss349/Queenofallthings/017-4.jpg
Waiting for their Tim Horton's breakfast!!
http://i590.photobucket.com/albums/ss349/Queenofallthings/019-3.jpg
Before we knew it, it was time to board! At this point Jasmine realizes that we have to go outside and walk across the tarmac to the plane...cool, at least it's not January and 40 below!! This is when it gets really real for me that we're actually going! I sat alone on this leg of our journey and I had a lovely young mom and her baby sitting next me! That baby was so good on the plane....or so I thought! Apparently, I slept thru the crying. Oh well, we've all been there with our babies on a plane so it's a big whatever to me!
Jasmine poked me thru the seat and said "we're landing". I looked at my watch and I said it's 710am we're not supposed to land until 8. I was then trying to figure out if Chicago was an hour ahead of us...nope! Just a great tail wind apparently!!!!
http://i590.photobucket.com/albums/ss349/Queenofallthings/021-1.jpg
Grabbed this shot of the kids on the plane
http://i590.photobucket.com/albums/ss349/Queenofallthings/023-2.jpg
Our plane on the runway at O'Hare
http://i590.photobucket.com/albums/ss349/Queenofallthings/024-4.jpg
I loved Chicago airport, it was so easy to get around and I couldnt' wait for my greasy egg mcmuffin at McDonald's! I was praying the McDonald's coffee was as good in the states as it is at home and it was!! Tasted great!!
http://i590.photobucket.com/albums/ss349/Queenofallthings/025-3.jpg
Jeff laughed at this picture! He said "Look, I look just like tourist".

Up next......Departure from Chicago and arrival at MCO!!!!!

:woohoo: :woohoo: you started! Wouldn't miss this one for the world! :goodvibes

Going back to read now!

Edit: All caught up! Love that you were able to relax on your departure day with a pedi - a bummer about Jasmine having to work but yay on her finishing early!

Sounds like you had a great family dinner - sorry about having to leave your dad behind. I'm sure he enjoyed hearing from you on a daily basis.

That limo looks great! What a way to ride to the airport and lol at the reactions of SW and MM to Jeff coming along as well - priceless! :thumbsup2

Am glad that the lady with the dog was not on your flight and :woohoo: on arriving early!

Looking forward to reading more.

I'm in :) Can't wait to follow along on your adventures. Love the story about how you guys told the girls that jeff was coming! That sounds like it was a great surprise! That must have been annoying to deal with that lady in front of you! I always forget that you guys are nervous flyers, i now remember you mentioning that in your last trip report, luckily everything went smoothly for your flight. Yay Chicago!!!!! o'hare is our airport of choice. Did you know it is one of the busiest and largest airports in the country?. Glad you enjoyed that airport :) I feel weird if i don't fly from there for some reason. We also go to a fair amount of concerts at the all state arena which is right by there. I pretty much always have either mcdonalds or starbucks as my pre-disney treat. Can't wait for more popcorn::

This was the second time this year we flew via O'Hare....I like that airport...so far things have gone smoothly with our connections! I even was able to find the virtual geocache that is hidden there....that was a bonus and turned out to be our first geocache find in Illinois!

I like your trip reports because I'm Canadian and although I'm in Toronto now, I went to University (a loonggg time ago) in Winnipeg. It was nice to picture your drive and arrival at the Winnipeg airport.

Glad you had a good trip, can't wait to read all about it.

So happy to have you along:goodvibes

Joining in, we were there during the same time. Can't wait to hear about AKL, more and more things are convincing me we have to try it out someday.

Thanks for joining us:goodvibes I will definitely give you more and more reasons to convince you to stay there!!!! Hope you had a wonderful time...have you got a TR going?

UGH!!!!!!!!!! Page 2 already? That's what I get for having a boss who takes two months off over the summer, comes back to the office and cuts into my DIS time!:hug::hug:

I'm here now, but on the way to the train. Will catch up when I get home.

There's my girl:hug: I hate when work gets in the way of my Dis-ing too...but I'm still on vacation so I'm craming as much time as I can in before next Monday:woohoo: Chat with you later hon:hug:

Queen, I am all caught up. The intros are great and I can't believe how big the nieces have gotten...they grow up too fast.

Jeff looks as if he is really excited for the trip and that is just so great.

What a crazy lady at the airport? I hate flying and I get very tense if someone starts causing a commotion. O'Hare is a pretty darn good airport. We flew out of our other airport last year -- Midway. Let's just say never again if I can help it.

I'm so glad you pulled off the surprise for the girls that Jeff was joining you on the trip.

Can't wait for more.

Yay!!! You Started!!

You know I wouldn`t miss this one for the world.

Yay for a safe flight, and an early arrival into Chicago

I love how excited the girls were to see Jeff!

Can`t wait for more:goodvibes

:woohoo: You're here! I knew you would be here and I'm so excited!

I found your PTR a few days before your trip and loved it! Now I'm joining and following along on your TR!:thumbsup2

So happy you found us and are along for this one:goodvibes

Off to a great start I see :goodvibes Looking forward to reading more!! I love the signature thumbs up :thumbsup2

Hey girl:hug: He had a few "signature" things during this trip....:rolleyes1

We are here!!! Can't wait to hear all about this amazing trip. How fun when you take new people. And I love the picture of Jeff, Jas and Mini Montana in the airport where both girls have one foot crossed over the other. You can tell the little one adores Jas!

Awesome limo!! That is about the one time you wish the trip was longer than 10 mins!!

How funny about the dog at the airport!! some people have such a sense of entitlement....:rolleyes1

Samantha:hug::hug:I love that you noticed the girl's feet....we laughed when we were looking thru the pictures the first night there on the TV and noticed they were standing the exact same way! Jasmine ALWAYS stands like that and Jeff always thinks she's going to fall over:lmao:

A longer ride sure would have been nice...it was quite spectacular I have to say! Not something we normally get to do after all:lmao:

Sense of entitlement...that's a perfect description!!!

Joining in. We have an entire half a year until our trip, so I need to read all the TRs I can to get a fix. :)

I like your trip reports because I'm Canadian and although I'm in Toronto now, I went to University (a loonggg time ago) in Winnipeg. It was nice to picture your drive and arrival at the Winnipeg airport.

Glad you had a good trip, can't wait to read all about it.
:)

I promise to keep you entertained until your trip:goodvibes

U of M or U of W....Jasmine will be going to U of W next fall!

Glad to have you along!

I'm here! I've lurked on so many of your other TR's, but I've never been able to get in early enough. Well not this time! :lmao:

I am so happy that you got in early this time:goodvibes Glad to have you with us!

Hi!! :goodvibes

I just finished your last trip report and your most recent PTR. I am so excited that I'm able to read this one in real time! :woohoo:

Glad to hear you had a wonderful time and I can't wait to read more.

Well, hello there and welcome:goodvibes I'm glad you're here for real time too!!
Hi Queen, I'm here too. Love when tr's start at home.....

Hi Kim:hug: I love that too...I find the day/nigh before you leave so exciting! Can't wait for you to hear all about this one!!

They grow so quickly...I was thinking how big Mary's girls will be this year...so darn cute!

I feel the same way you do about flying and I need everything around me to be calm, cause Lord knows, calm is not a word that can be used to describe me on a plane:lmao:

I went to U of M. U of W always looked great, but I sure both places have changed since I was there. :)

Love the jacket you wore to the airport. A perfect wardrobe while you are waiting to get to the happy place!

We did have a fabulous time and I do have a TR going, the link is in my siggy, the big long one under our names. Just saw you live in Winnipeg, I have a cousin who lives there, but we tease him by calling it Winterpeg. Real original I know! :) I married an American and live in New York State now, but am Canadian born and bred.

U of W has grown so much...they seem to be buying up a ton of land downtown and buildings are popping up everywhere! The old United Army Surplus store was demolished and is now part of the University!

I bought that jacket last September on our first day:cool1: I tried it on, loved it, but put it back because after all it was only the first day:rolleyes: Jasmine looked at me and said "everytime you do that you end up regretting it so just buy it". Glad I listened to her!!!

Ya know, I check my subscriptions pretty often, maybe once every 10 minutes or so :rolleyes1 So I'm not too sure how I missed your post on the PTR that you'd started over here! I must've been on when you posted and it didn't get flagged, I guess. :confused3

But I'm here NOW!!! :cool1:

:lmao: That's great!

a drink would have helped! Don't judge me, I too realize it's 4 am but a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do!

Oh, absolutely. You go girl!

There was this crazy lady that kept interrupting the attendent that was trying to check us in...I mean nuts!!! She was with this other younger lady who had a pug on a leash and was carrying it's carry thingy(hope that makes sense).

::yes::

She doesn't realized this whole time she's in the wrong line and starts yelling at the attendents...Jasmine and I just gave each other the look! They her dog proceeds to start to go the bathroom...and she starts yelling "Great, now my dog is ^%&^& on the floor .... are you happy?"

Yup! 4am is just waaaayyyy too early for some folks. :rotfl:

So the older lady goes thru custom's and security after the young one and from the custom's line, she's yelling "Don't put the dog thru the xray machine".

Now that's just funny! :lmao: "No m'am, but you'll have to go through it."

http://i590.photobucket.com/albums/ss349/Queenofallthings/019-3.jpg

I'm sorry but Jasmine has no right to look so nice at 4am... I know what I look like around that time... Yikes! Oh, to be 18 again!

Up next......Departure from Chicago and arrival at MCO!!!!!

Hi Queen! Subscribing!!! Last year I started reading a part of your spiders report, but then got preoccupied so I forgot to finish! Guess I'll have to make time for this TR and finish the last TR! I'm hanging on to hope that our family can go to Disney next August, since we didn't make it there this year :(, and I'm hoping to go the same time you went this year. Excited to hear about weather and crowds!! Hi everyone!! Time for another update!! Jasmine and I ended up going to the states with my bff and her daughter or I would have had one up by now! I've got my tea ready and I'm good to go....so where was I.....

Oh yes, we had just taken off from O'Hare on our way to Orlando! On this leg of the journey I had the window seat, MM was in the middle and Peg had the aisle. Geodoc and SW were in front of us and Jas and Jeff were in front of them! MM ended up sleeping about half the way, I slept a little too! Here's a funny story! I decided that yes a drink would be nice, not a cocktail just a soda! Well apparently, I was a little more tired than I thought and I closed my eyes and ended up spilling my drink all over me and my Ipod Touch! Thank goodness it was more on me than my Ipod so it still works! We had a pretty good flight until we started to descend into Orlando then it got a little bumpy! I thought I did awesome...well not according to Peg and MM...they both made fun of me!! I was just happy there was no aborted landing this time:thumbsup2 I was so happy once we were actually on the ground...that's when I get really excited!
http://i590.photobucket.com/albums/ss349/Queenofallthings/027-3.jpg
We were more towards the back of the plane so it took a little while to deplane but here is a shot of the whole family happily making their was through MCO to ME!! Jeff kept asking if we were sure we knew where we were going...silly boy!!
http://i590.photobucket.com/albums/ss349/Queenofallthings/029-2.jpg
Didn't have to wait to long to get on this....
http://i590.photobucket.com/albums/ss349/Queenofallthings/030-3.jpg
MM...such a happy girl!!!!
http://i590.photobucket.com/albums/ss349/Queenofallthings/032-6.jpg
Jeff with his signature pose...he actually ran to get into this shot! I didn't get turned around this trip! When we arrived on Delta in September, I went the wrong way, but with United, we landed where we used to land with Westjet!!
http://i590.photobucket.com/albums/ss349/Queenofallthings/033-6.jpg
We had to wait about 20 minutes until it was our turn to board! By this time, I realized my wardrobe choice was great for the plane but not so good for the Florida heat and humidity so I had to take off my hoodie! The anticipation while waiting to leave....everyone was so happy!
http://i590.photobucket.com/albums/ss349/Queenofallthings/035-3.jpg
A very happy family....the girls were so excited!!
http://i590.photobucket.com/albums/ss349/Queenofallthings/036-3.jpg
There were quite a few families on the bus by the time we boarded so we were close to the back so this was all I could catch of entering our happy place! I remember thinking, as I sat by myself, how ridiculous I must look with a grin from ear to ear! I didn't care though lol

http://i590.photobucket.com/albums/ss349/Queenofallthings/042-2.jpg
Check in desk! Geodoc and all the kids went and sat down while Peg and I went to check in! Eric, who was beyond amazing, checked us in! We chatted with him when he told us he was originally from Vancouver, BC! He shared our excitement about having our beloved Winnipeg Jets back...yup, the NHL is alive and when in Winnipeg again! He talked to us about wine tasting that we could go to at the resort (must have been a vibe he got from us) and then he told us that we had been upgraded! Yup, no value view for us.....we were upgrade to Savannah View! We were so excited!!! I didn't think our day could get any better but it was about to! Eric said, "please call down to the desk when you're settled and we'll send the basket up to your room". I looked at Peg and said "basket, what basket?" She looked at me and said "you have an awesome Dis-friend who sent you a basket!" I said "ME"...yup, it was for me!! She called me a spoiled brat...but I know she meant it with love! It brought tears to my eyes ...who had thought to send me something? We got our room keys and we were off!!
http://i590.photobucket.com/albums/ss349/Queenofallthings/630-2.jpg
Our rooms were on the 5th floor so I took this as we were walking of the lobby! I love this lobby, I could sit there with my book and be completely and prefectly content!!
http://i590.photobucket.com/albums/ss349/Queenofallthings/631-2.jpg
Signage to our rooms....we were in rooms 5114 and 5116! We were in what's called a lock off....what's that you ask....I will tell you! It's a one bedroom with a connecting door to a studio!

All Peg could talk about was giraffe's and how amazing it would be to be able to sit on your balcony and see a giraffe! While we were getting settled the garden grocer ordered arrived and Geodoc put it all away for us. This was what we were doing....we couldn't believe our luck, in our room for minutes and this is what greets us....we all believe our mom sent that for us:hug:

Up next.....Our first meal in the World...and my special delivery from a very special Dis-friend!

Yay, an update!!!

Didn't know you were a nervous flyer - how did you do on the flight when you came to Scotland? Oh no on the Ipad touch situation - glad it still worked.

Lol at Jeff asking if you knew where you were going! Hilarious!! :rotfl2:

Yay on everyone being happy about going home! I wonder where the CM got the vibe from about the wine drinking :rolleyes1 :lmao:

:woohoo: on being upgraded to Savannah view!!! I can't wait to hear how else your mum was with you on this trip hun

Oh my what a view to wake up to every morning!! I would love to stay at AKL one day.

:rotfl: at being called a spoilt brat!
As this will probably be my last update on here before I leave I thought I would make it a long one!

One final thing - can we make a deal. Can you go slow on the updates in the next couple of weeks so I can catch up easily when I get back. In return I'll take pics of your drink at Epcot as well as some of AKL :goodvibes

Great pictures from AKL. So beautiful.

We haven't stayed there but on my last trip I took some time one day to head over and wander around. Love how many animals you can see (from so many wonderful viewing spots) and I agree with you on sitting in that lobby. I could hang out there for hours reading and watching the world go by. :lovestruc

Isn't Jambo House the best:love:...but then again I've never been to Kidani Village! It was amazing to have that view! We checked it out several times .... actually whenever we were in our room! It was a wonderful surprise!!

Yay, you made it to AKL! I definitely agree, it is so awesome to sit out on your balcony and watch all the animals-especially the giraffes since they're my favorite.

I love them too. It felt like pure heaven sitting out there!

Very lucky!! In 2009 we had pool view but to be able to stay for 13 nights there was no room for an upgrade so value it was! We couldn't believe how lucky we were.

Wow what an awesome touch of pixie dust to get upgraded to Savannah view, your room looks amazing:goodvibes

Nervous flyer might be a bit of an understatement...I'm a basketcase most of the flight:sick: Unfortunately for us, when we went to Scotland in 89 was shortly after the Air India crash so I was beyond terrified! I was a wreck and Paul wasn't much help...his response was "well, if we crash, everyone will know we were on the plane":scared1: WHAT?? What kind of logic is that??? I cried and he stopped talking:lmao:

Here's a funny story! I decided that yes a drink would be nice, not a cocktail just a soda! Well apparently, I was a little more tired than I thought and I closed my eyes and ended up spilling my drink all over me and my Ipod Touch!

I have this picture in my mind of your head slowly starting to bob back and forth, back and forth.... A little more... A liiiiittlle mooorrreee.... Plop. Head down... Drink tips over... Head jerks up quickly and eyes snap open!

I remember thinking, as I sat by myself, how ridiculous I must look with a grin from ear to ear! I didn't care though lol

Oh, and I'm sure you were the only one with that look on your face. Someday Disney's going to figure out a way to trademark that look and make money off it.

and then he told us that we had been upgraded!

:cool1: Ya gotta love the pixie dust!

I looked at Peg and said "basket, what basket?" ...who had thought to send me something?

I have a hunch on this one... we'll see if I'm right.

What she really means is "we became leeches thanks to the generosity of my wonderful sister and her husband and children":lmao:

We have a tradtion before we leave on our vacation and that tradition is going to our local steakhouse, The Keg! It's something we've done since 1998 on our first trip...it's as much a part of our vacation as getting there! This year our Dad and Geodoc's mom joined us, along with 2 of Peg and Geodoc's friends who love Disney as much as we do!! They are 2 of the nicest people I have ever met and hope we can get together soon to chat all about this trip!

That was fun and they said they would love to do it again soon. The only problem was because we ate so well it was very hard to get to sleep.

That was pretty funny!
[We were flying United to Chicago then Chicago to Orlando! I was trying to keep my flight nerves in check, but I'm not gonna lie to you, a drink would have helped!

The ones who really need a drink are the ones that are flying with you:scared1:

I have more to add about the crazy lady but will wait for my pictures. In the picture of Jasmine and Jeff by the plane in Winnipeg you can see me at the top of the stairs happy I have made it up the stairs without me falling through them:scared1:

Couldn't agree more! I said to Jasmine that if we had stayed one more week I would have loved nothing more than to just relax at the resort! But alas, that wasn't going to happen:lmao: I love the lock off instead of a dedicated for those exact reasons...when everyone was up and ready we would open our connecting doors, it couldn't have worked better:thumbsup2

I have this picture in my mind of your head slowly starting to bob back and forth, back and forth.... A little more... A liiiiittlle mooorrreee.... Plop. Head down... Drink tips over... Head jerks up quickly and eyes snap open!

Queen, although we are staying Kidani and not Jambo, your pictures have me more excited than I can even say that we will be there two weeks from today. And I will try to remember when we go to Boma to take a picture in the lobby or somewhere at Jambo so we can say "hello" to you and we wish you were there with us. And hooray for an upgrade to a savannah view.

Hope your shopping trip went well! It must be nice to be able to go down to the U.S occasionally to shop. Your shopping trips sound like these shopping trips my mom and i take to wisconsin (we live about as close to the wisconsin boarder as you guys do to the U.S boarder). It's nice being able to go someplace different from your normal routine and check things out over there. anyway back to the trip report. Yay that you were able to find everything ok. We have never taken magical express but i do know that it is very easy to get lost in that airport while trying to find the car rental place or the magical express center. Cute how excited jeff was about being on the bus and then about getting to the resort. I love seeing new people's reactions to disney. My brother and his fiancee are going to disney in december for their honeymoon and he is defintely the disney veteran out of the two of them. She has been to disney a couple of times but has missed doing a couple of fundamental things like she only got to spend a couple of hours in the magic kingdom on both trips combined. my brother is making this trip about doing everything she wants to do in disney and hasn't gotten to yet. It is really cute hearing them talk about their trip. anyway back to your TR. I love the pic of all the kids outside the AKL. They all look super happy to be there. Also nice that you had a great check in person. Love the towel mickey as well. Can't wait to find out who the package was from.

great resort pics!!! I'm glad you posted a few since I'm staying there in Dec :) We won't be in the villas section but we did book a standard but I'll hope for an upgrade or maybe ask for one when we check in. When we stayed in 2008, it was an extra $100 total to upgrade to Savanna which was like $25 extra a night and since we were booked with a CM discount anyways we ended up paying the $100 and I'm glad we did...we'll see what happens in a few months!

The more pictures I see of AKV, the more I fall in love with the resort. I love the theme of the room and all the amazing views. And those bath tiles! I've never seen them before, so thank you for sharing. :thumbsup2

Aren't they just gorgeous....I want those tiles in my bathroom!!

WOW!!! From page 4 to 7 overnight!! :dance3:
AKV looks amazing!!!

Now we have our answer to JAMBO!! :goodvibes Good Title!!

Can't wait to hear more!! :surfweb:

Debbie

It really is a gorgeous resort! I love it more and more! Will have another update done hopefully this week, if not, for sure on the weekend!

YIPPEE for AKL:yay:!!!!!!!!!!! We stayed there a couple of years ago and I just  it - especially Boma and Jiko being right at our fingertips!! Our family had a little pixie dust too by being upgraded from a standard view to Savannah.... I spent a lot of time on my balcony with a cup of coffee! However, I made sure my hubby wiped out any evidence of spiders before I went out there :lmao:! Can't wait to read more!!

Boma is one of my very favorite restaurants on property! I have yet to eat at Jiko, but I have it on my "must do" list for next time! You are very lucky to have a hubby who'll take care of the spiders:lmao:

Why thank you!;)

Pretend I'm Peg....you're welcome;)

I LOVE the tiles in the shower!! I want that for my own bathroom :goodvibes

I have never been to AKL, but we are eating there at Jiko this time around and I cant wait to see it in person!

Me too!! Wouldn't that be great to see that in your shower everyday! Oh....I can't wait to hear what you think of Jikopopcorn::

Queen, although we are staying Kidani and not Jambo, your pictures have me more excited than I can even say that we will be there two weeks from today. And I will try to remember when we go to Boma to take a picture in the lobby or somewhere at Jambo so we can say "hello" to you and we wish you were there with us. And hooray for an upgrade to a savannah view.

The kids look so excited. And I can't wait to hear about your special delivery and your first meal.

I can hardly believe your trip is so close...I'm lively vicariously thru you right now!! The kids really had a great time!

We do love our little shopping excursions! It's so nice to just get away sometimes too! A great check in person really does start your vacation off on the right foot don't they! How exciting that your brother and fianceeare going for their honeymoon:lovestruc

I am so so happy you got upgraded to a savanna view!!! Awesome, is it not?? AKV is one of my fav places in the world!! Can't wait to hear about the basket and first meal.

It sure is awesome Mary! It's my favorite resort ... hands down!!

The most popular girl on DISboards strikes again!!! Im here, Im late - but ready for action. I was *shocked* to see that you had taken two pictures especially for me :)

XXOO

Lol you are so funny! Of course, how could we forget you??? OXO

I finally made it over :cool1:. I am loving your pictures. I have never been lucky enough to get an upgrade at a resort, not even during birthdays or anniversary trips........oh well, maybe someday :lmao:. Anyway, back to your trip, so far it looks magical and I can't wait to read and see more!!

Dana...I've missed you girl! Your day will come hon, good things come to those who wait:hug: It was magical and can't wait to tell you more!

Omigosh! I am so behind! Darn life getting in the way of my DISing!!! Sounds great so far - can't wait for more!

Hate when that happens! It's happening to me too this week since I went back to work...so hard to get back into work mode when you still want to be on vacation!

great resort pics!!!

Thanks! CM discounts are the best arent' they! It doesn't really matter where you are inside, the best part is just being there!! You're going to have a great time!

Lovely pictures! I was torn between AKL and YC for our upcoming trip next week, ultimately ended up with YC but I can see from your pictures the chance to have your morning coffee with wildlife (not the spiders tho!) is really quite lovely. We may have to plan a trip there in the future!:thumbsup2

I can see how you could be torn between those 2! I do love YC though, have never been fortunate enough to stay there, but I think it's absolutely beautiful!

I was looking for you guys, too! I do wish we could have met-- next time!!
You can tell how excited everyone is-- I love those "just arrived" smiling faces! Wow, your view was just gorgeous! Having that nice table to eat breakfast must have been really nice.

Me too, but you're right, next time! I really loved that view, more than the pool view we had last time and I didn't think that was possible. Having breakfast in the room was wonderful!!

I'm so glad you all got upgraded! That view looks amazing! I think it would be worth a few spiders to get to see giraffes from the balcony.

I also love the tile in the shower. That would be the coolest thing to have at home!

OKay that does it, the view of that Giraffe from the balcony. My kids would never want to leave the room! Amazing!

Hi everyone!! Time for another update!! Jasmine and I ended up going to the states with my bff and her daughter or I would have had one up by now! I've got my tea ready and I'm good to go....so where was I.....

So not only do we have to wait for a trippie update, but we have to hear the reason for it is because you're an international shopper? Yeah, that makes the rest of us feel really good about our lives! :rotfl2:

Oh yes, we had just taken off from O'Hare on our way to Orlando! On this leg of the journey I had the window seat, MM was in the middle and Peg had the aisle. Geodoc and SW were in front of us and Jas and Jeff were in front of them!

They put you in the very back? I'd put you in front of me! The entertainment value of you on a plane would be just TOO good to pass up. Have you ever listened to George Carlin's bit about stupid things they say at the airport? You need to. :rotfl2:

I remember thinking, as I sat by myself, how ridiculous I must look with a grin from ear to ear! I didn't care though lol

If people think you look ridiculous grinning from ear to ear on the way to WDW then they don't have a clue what's up. You could enlighten them? Nah..... too much trouble. Just sit back and grin!

He talked to us about wine tasting that we could go to at the resort (must have been a vibe he got from us)

What do you have, some kind of alcoholic aura???? I didn't notice it. Probably because I sport the same one, huh?

and then he told us that we had been upgraded! Yup, no value view for us.....we were upgrade to Savannah View!

Isn't there some kind of cosmic law against having this kind of luck??? Love the idea that Jeff took credit for the upgrade. I know I only met him for a moment, but I KNEW I liked that kid!

She called me a spoiled brat...but I know she meant it with love!

You are a spoiled brat!!! But then again, being the Queen of All Things, what else would you be? And you know we love it! :thumbsup2

Okay, I'm finally caught up. Don't know what the next several days is going to be like and my internet connection next week is going to be seriously spotty. But you know I won't be able to go too long without my QoAT fix!! See ya soon!!!!:love::worship:

First of all, I want to apologize for taking so long to get another update completed! I went back to work on Monday and it was nuts! I forgot how much catching up there is to do after 3 weeks off! But it's Saturday morning now, I'm caught up on all my threads and its time to fill you in on the rest of our arrival day!! The garden grocer order had arrived and Geodoc got that all put away while Peg and I got to unpacking all the suitcases and putting everything into the drawers! Jasmine and Jeff took care of their own suitcases so we were done in no time! Then the knock on the door came...it was my basket from a very special Dis-friend:hug:
http://i590.photobucket.com/albums/ss349/Queenofallthings/067-3-1.jpg
This is what arrived at the door! Isn't it beautiful? I know you're all wondering who it was from so I won't keep you in suspense any longer.....Tanzunited99...yup, she's a sweetie!!! It included 3 pens, an autograph book, a beautiful Animal Kingdom photo frame and a gorgeous necklace with my initial and a mickey head...simply beautiful!!! I couldn't believe someone would go to all that trouble to do something so kind and sweet! Everytime I wear the necklace and look at the frame I think of her...so she's never far from my thoughts:goodvibes
http://i590.photobucket.com/albums/ss349/Queenofallthings/055-2.jpg
The time was inching closer and closer to our ADR time so we headed down to the bus. Here are three of the four kids....where is Jasmine you ask....
http://i590.photobucket.com/albums/ss349/Queenofallthings/056-2.jpg
Getting the beginnings of her tan:lmao: This girl goes love to lay by the pool and tan much more than being in the water!!
http://i590.photobucket.com/albums/ss349/Queenofallthings/058-3.jpg
First bus ride of the trip! We decided since we were cutting it close with the time that we would not get off at the Marketplace like we originally planned. We thought we would have lots of time to shop before our ADR but we had decided it would be better to get everything done before we left than have to do it when we got back.
http://i590.photobucket.com/albums/ss349/Queenofallthings/059-1.jpg
Our destination....Raglan Road! We love this restaurant and when we travel with Peg and family, it's more often than not our first restaurant we eat at! As you can see it was a beautiful night too!!
http://i590.photobucket.com/albums/ss349/Queenofallthings/060-1.jpg
We checked in and they took us in almost right away! We had a great table and were enjoying the atmosphere...as you can see, we all look very happy! Now Peg will have to post her pictures because I took one of them with her camera, I didn't have one on mine!
http://i590.photobucket.com/albums/ss349/Queenofallthings/061-1.jpg
We had an amazing server which was awesome...nothing like starting your trip off with a bang! Jasmine and Jeff were "starving to death" so they decided to split an appetizer! They got the spring rolls and said they were delicious which I thought they must be because in my opinion, Jeff's mom makes the best spring rolls I have ever had...I could eat them by the dozen:rolleyes1
http://i590.photobucket.com/albums/ss349/Queenofallthings/062-2.jpg
I couldn't wait for the bread:lovestruc I love dipping it in the concoction of guinness and honey I believe is what it is....pure heaven!!! For dinner, I decided to have the bangers and booz....boy was this yummy! I was a little on the hungry side so ate it all!!!
http://i590.photobucket.com/albums/ss349/Queenofallthings/063-2.jpg
Jeff had the hamburger and he was more than impressed...he said it was the best burger he's had in a long time and this boy eats burgers:lmao: Once again, the signture thumbs up!
http://i590.photobucket.com/albums/ss349/Queenofallthings/064-2.jpg
Jasmine had the fish and chips....if fish is on the menu that's what she'll choose!!!
http://i590.photobucket.com/albums/ss349/Queenofallthings/065-1.jpg
The server didn't rush us and we were all talking about all the fun times that were ahead of us on this trip! No one wanted dessert but I love this dessert here and had to have it. As soon as I ordered, Jasmine decided she was going to have dessert too.....
http://i590.photobucket.com/albums/ss349/Queenofallthings/066-1.jpg
She decided on the Dunbroody Kiss...she licked the plate clean!!!

We had every intention of shopping when we were finished eating, but our early morning flight changed our plans...we were all exhausted and decided the best thing to do was catch the bus and head back "home". We had had a wonderful start to our trip and what would our next day hold....MAGIC KINGDOM...of course.

That room is absolutely gorgeous, and with a savannah view even better :woohoo:

The meal at RR looked so yummy...I won't mention to Jean that they have Guiness flavoured sauces or she will want to add it to our Nov. plans - she developed a bit of a taste for Guiness after our visit to the storehouse in Dublin last summer :rolleyes1

Jasmine and Jeff were "starving to death" so they decided to split an appetizer! They got the spring rolls and said they were delicious which I thought they must be because in my opinion, Jeff's mom makes the best spring rolls I have ever had...I could eat them by the dozen:rolleyes1

Umm... the next time she makes some... can I come over? :rolleyes1

Jeff had the hamburger and he was more than impressed...he said it was the best burger he's had in a long time and this boy eats burgers:lmao: Once again, the signture thumbs up!

I love a good burger, just one more reason to try Raglan Road! :)

We had every intention of shopping when we were finished eating, but our early morning flight changed our plans...we were all exhausted and decided the best thing to do was catch the bus and head back "home". We had had a wonderful start to our trip and what would our next day hold....MAGIC KINGDOM...of course.

Can't wait! :goodvibes

Bongos is good if you like overpriced mexican food passed off as cuban food. I mean, it's good for the type of food. But it's way overpriced, overcrowded, and very very noisy.

That's a great explanation...yup, don't think we'll be going there anytime soon! There are too many great restaurants to choose from:thumbsup2

What a wonderful first day...but a long one, no wonder you decided to pass on the shopping.

That limo looked awesome, what a great way to start the trip off in style :thumbsup2 Glad that apart from a spilled drink the flights were mostly uneventful - unless you count the crazy dog lady at the airport :rotfl2:

That room is absolutely gorgeous, and with a savannah view even better :woohoo:

The meal at RR looked so yummy...I won't mention to Jean that they have Guiness flavoured sauces or she will want to add it to our Nov. plans - she developed a bit of a taste for Guiness after our visit to the storehouse in Dublin last summer :rolleyes1

LARA:hug:so happy you're here! The limo was amazing, too bad we only get about 10 minutes in it, but hey, the price is right!!

That is too funny....Jean would love that dipping stuff for lack of better terminiology:lmao: Just wondering....will we be enjoying a TR from you after your November trip:woohoo:I hope so:yay:

Joining in, sounds like you had a very fun trip! Can't wait to read more! :mickeyjum

Very nice! But (case you were wondering) I guessed wrong on who it was from.

Wasn't it? There was another delivery a few days later and on that one, I think you absolutely know who it was from:lmao:

I LOL when I saw this pic. When I look at Jeff, he looks like he's trying to be cool and calm on the outside... but on the inside is this little kid jumping up and down screaming, "Let's GO!" :lmao:

He was trying to be calm but we all knew how excited he was!! Thank goodness we didn't have a long wait for the bus!

Never been there, but I've certainly heard many people say good things about it.

It's one of those places that would be great for a dismeet...now just to get us all there at the same time:rolleyes1

Umm... the next time she makes some... can I come over? :rolleyes1

Definitely!! They really are delicious and we dip them in that Thai Chili sauce.....:cloud9:

I love a good burger, just one more reason to try Raglan Road! :)

I'm with you...nothing better than a good burger:worship:

We are having a great weekend....and I think next week will be much better!

Joining in! I read your other trip reports over the past couple of days and enjoyed seeing the World through your eyes. We leave in under a month for our vacation and we just extended it because this momma is expecting and we will have to take things a bit more slowly than we are used to:goodvibes

We have stayed at Kidani before, and other than the quarter mile walk to our two bedroom suite (seriously!) it was ultimately what made us sign up for DVC. There is something so wonderful about the quietness of the AKL. But, my children love the Beach Club after staying there last year so we will be there for the first 8 nights of our trip, then we are moving to POP because we have not been able to find any DVC villas for the next four nights--it is going to be a hard move, but it means five more days! :yay:

I had every intention of getting this post up last evening but I forgot the Emmy's were on and I just had to watch them! I was so happy that Modern Family cleaned up....I love that show!!!

This post brings us to Monday, August 22! Our first park day and what park did we decide on...well the Magic Kingdom of course:cool1: We decided the night before that we would all have breakfast together at 7am and then head down to the bus for 8am! It's funny how hard the kids are to get up when you're at home but so easy when you remind them where we are and they fly out of bed!

The bus mojo continued for us...we rounded the corner and there was the bus...just waiting for us! Jeff, once again, reminded us that it was him that was bringing us all the luck...did he forget it was only day 2:lmao: We let him have his moment though!
http://i590.photobucket.com/albums/ss349/Queenofallthings/068-5.jpg
Before we knew it we were through bag check and inside the turnstiles! We were all bursting with excitement but before the train arrived and the song started I had Peg take this picture of the 3 of us!
http://i590.photobucket.com/albums/ss349/Queenofallthings/072-4.jpg
I thought to take a few pictures while we were waiting! It was at this point that Jasmine told Jeff to be prepared that "my mom sings at the top of her lungs and dances to the song"! I laughed out loud...yup, and nothing's gonna change on this trip! This is one of my favorite times while we're in the world and I don't care who I embarrass! Jasmine reminds me I only embarrass myself...she loves her mommy!
http://i590.photobucket.com/albums/ss349/Queenofallthings/077-5.jpg
I always like to get a picture of the family that opens the park! I can only imagine the excitement they have but this time was a bit different. They were at the station before the train arrived they weren't on the train with everyone else, but it didn't seem to bother them a bit, they were having a ball!!
http://i590.photobucket.com/albums/ss349/Queenofallthings/078-5.jpg
Then it was down to business....Walking right down the middle of Main Street USA...yes I was still singing and doing a little dance!
http://i590.photobucket.com/albums/ss349/Queenofallthings/079-5.jpg
This is a shot I like to get every trip and this one was no different! Jeff never once complained about the number of times I wanted to stop and take pictures....I like this kid more and more all the time!
http://i590.photobucket.com/albums/ss349/Queenofallthings/081-5.jpg
Then it was off to Adventure...there were a few rides with our names on them....but where does Jasmine take Jeff on his first day EVER at the MK......
http://i590.photobucket.com/albums/ss349/Queenofallthings/084-4.jpg
to see the Fairies of course!! He didn't want to seem to eager so he let SW and MM go first!!
http://i590.photobucket.com/albums/ss349/Queenofallthings/085-4.jpg
Then it was our turn...that's right, I wanted to be in the pictures with the fairies! Iradessa had other ideas...she was wondering why they brought their "grown up" with them and why would they want their "grown up" in the picture!
http://i590.photobucket.com/albums/ss349/Queenofallthings/086-3.jpg
This is me trying to explain why I should be allowed to stay for the picture and the whole time Jasmine is agreeing with Iradessa saying they were trying to ditch me all morning but they could escape me....nice daughter I have eh?
http://i590.photobucket.com/albums/ss349/Queenofallthings/089-5.jpg
I finally gave her a good enough story that she let me stay...and clearly I am the only one in the group who knew how to pose....mhmm!! Jasmine made Jeff get out the autograph book and pen that Tanz had included in our basket to get their autographs...he loved it!!! No problem there!
http://i590.photobucket.com/albums/ss349/Queenofallthings/091-4.jpg
Then it was onto Tink with the girls! I have to tell you a quick little story! When we arrived and we were all getting ready to go to RR the night before, Jasmine couldn't find her headband so my sister said that she had bought new ones for her girls and she could just borrow one. Jasmine always puts her hair in a ponytail and then a headband....well the next morning, MM decided to do her hair exactly like Jasmine had done her's the night before...yes, she does idolize Jasmine....too cute!
http://i590.photobucket.com/albums/ss349/Queenofallthings/094-7.jpg
As you can see, once again, they have no idea how to pose with a fairy! GOod thing mama knows how!
http://i590.photobucket.com/albums/ss349/Queenofallthings/095-7.jpg
After we left the fairies the kids couldn't wait to get to the rides! I said to Jeff "run over there and I'll get your picture"... yes, I left out the fact that they spray you...he loved it!
http://i590.photobucket.com/albums/ss349/Queenofallthings/097-5.jpg
Doing their best pirate impersonations with Hooks...they need some work!!! Not sure why, but PoTC was down on this particular morning so we never did ride it that day!
http://i590.photobucket.com/albums/ss349/Queenofallthings/098-6.jpg
This is when I knew for sure Jeff was going to have a blast on this trip and wanted every moment captured...he ASKED me to take this picture!!!
http://i590.photobucket.com/albums/ss349/Queenofallthings/099-4.jpg
Then he ASKED me to take this one when he realized the last one didn't have the ride name in it....yup, we was gonna be gettin along just fine...Jasmine had other thoughts!
http://i590.photobucket.com/albums/ss349/Queenofallthings/100-6.jpg
As you can see the crowd level was very low and the wait time was only 5 minutes......SCORE!!!! This is Jasmine's favorite ride at MK so she couldnt' wait to get down there and get on it!!!
http://i590.photobucket.com/albums/ss349/Queenofallthings/102-6.jpg
We then rode BTMRR but for some unknown reason (or I just can't rememer) I have no pictures of that! So then it was onto HM....I couldn't wait for this!
http://i590.photobucket.com/albums/ss349/Queenofallthings/103-8.jpg
My favorite MK ride!!!
http://i590.photobucket.com/albums/ss349/Queenofallthings/105-6.jpgI loved how interactive it is now!
http://i590.photobucket.com/albums/ss349/Queenofallthings/106-5.jpg
Jeff and his "thumbs up" signature pose...he asked me to refer to it as that throughout the TR......
http://i590.photobucket.com/albums/ss349/Queenofallthings/108-5.jpg
I noticed when I uploaded the pictures that both Jasmine and MM have "auras" around them but not Jeff....odd, don't you think????

After HM, we went to have lunch at CHH which was just as good as always!! Then it was time to head back to the resort....a certain pool and pool cocktails were calling our names.........

Thanks for the update! :goodvibes
I knew I wouldn't be able to concentrate on posting an actual update tonight because I am watching the Jets game.....are you surprised?
Sounds like such a nice MK morning. I laughed that you were the only one who remembered how to pose with the fairies.

It was the best! I'll have to work on the kids before the next trip.....:rolleyes1:lmao:

Great pictures! I love Iradessa - I so want to be her. I like her spunk! :rotfl:

Love the pictures of the MM and sister and I love all the pictures of you, Jas, and Jeff. Really good.

That is a bummer that they are considered underage here but not in Canada!

Great update Queen! Very creepy with the auras. I always wonder about HM and actually being haunted........ Nahhhhhhhhh

Great pictures with the fairies! I like Jasmine's park bag. Just a simple tiny backpack. I'm thinking I might try that next time instead of my Heys TravelMate.

Great update. I have to say I respect you for not being afraid to dance and sing along- it's all about savouring the moment, right? ;) I love your pictures of the HM queue, it's one of my favourite rides at MK and I can't wait to see the changes!

Interesting!! Last year I went on the "Haunted Winnipeg Tour" !
It was very interesting and informative. We learned about "ORBS" showing up in
photos and that it usually means a loved one is with you!
Perhaps the girls grandmother was there with them on your trip the whole time!!

Good news for me! I'm off to Copenhagen at the end of October to visit

That makes me so happy and thank you!! Wish we could have been there at the same time but it wasn't meant to be:sad1:

Great pictures! I love Iradessa - I so want to be her. I like her spunk! :rotfl:

Love the pictures of the MM and sister and I love all the pictures of you, Jas, and Jeff. Really good.

That is a bummer that they are considered underage here but not in Canada!

I like her spunk too! I tell all my girlfriends who have "spunky" little girls...that every little girl needs a bit of an attitude in this day and age:thumbsup2

I am so happy with my pictures from this trip....I keep looking at them over and over reliving all our moments!

Jeff told Jas that he wants to go back when they're 21 because he wants to have a drink in all the countries...great....let's start the planning now, it is only 2 years away!!

I wonder the same thing....you never know!!!

We bought those tiny backpacks in 2004 and they have lasted all these trips....til this one:confused3 It bit the dust and had a huge rip in it so we are now down to one!:confused3

I liked my Heys Travelmate, but I loved my Lug bag on this trip! Couldn't fit as much in it so it made me not take so much to the park! Worked great for me!

Great update. I have to say I respect you for not being afraid to dance and sing along- it's all about savouring the moment, right? ;) I love your pictures of the HM queue, it's one of my favourite rides at MK and I can't wait to see the changes!

Aww you are so sweet! Savoring the moment is right....they are few and far between and I love to enjoy myself!

I think you are going to love the queue...it was so much fun!

hahaha cute fairy pictures! Jeff sure is a good sport!

I think the auras around the girls on the HM picture was your mom letting you know that she was with you. :goodvibes

Here we are and it's Sunday morning yet again and all I can think of is "five weeks ago today we were headed down to WDW" how time flies! The weeks since we returned have been crazy busy! Between work and going to see my dad and trying to get everything else done my TR is suffering so I am going to get this update done before I leave the house today and another one up tonight!

I left off with us leaving the MK to head back "home" for a glorious afternoon by our amazing pool! I think of all the resorts I've stayed at this pool is my favorite!
http://i590.photobucket.com/albums/ss349/Queenofallthings/109-4.jpg
Before I forget, I forgot to add this picture to my last update. This was my lunch at CHH and it was yummy! I got the fish and chips and it's the only picture of food I have from that lunch. Jasmine and Jeff ended up sitting at a table for two beside us and were half done their meals by the time I got the camera out:confused3
http://i590.photobucket.com/albums/ss349/Queenofallthings/110-3.jpg
As soon as we arrived at the resort we headed upstairs to get out of our park clothes and into our bathing suits! I couldn't wait to grab our seats, get a nice pina colada and just relax in the sunshine! We found this perfect little spot behind one of the lifeguard chairs and it was perfect.
http://i590.photobucket.com/albums/ss349/Queenofallthings/111-2.jpg
A view from my seat to the left! We loved the new chairs, now maybe they've had them for a little while now, but when we stayed in 2009 they didn't have this kind! They were very comfy!
http://i590.photobucket.com/albums/ss349/Queenofallthings/113-3.jpg
We all headed to the pool while Jeff headed to the gym! I should have gone with him but I didn't and I didn't all trip:confused3 The pool was just too inviting! After he returned the girls couldn't wait for him to get into the pool! Thumbs up .... it was play time!
http://i590.photobucket.com/albums/ss349/Queenofallthings/116-3.jpg
Jeff, MM, Jas and me....MM was trying to learn how to dive off of Jeff and Jasmine, but Jasmine couldn't keep her footing so I had to stand behind her and steady her...I was laughing so hard a few times, I was no help whatsoever
http://i590.photobucket.com/albums/ss349/Queenofallthings/117-1.jpg
This cracked me up...Jeff was trying his hardest to float and just couldn't so MM decided that it was going to be her personal mission to teach him by the end of the trip! Here is his first lesson! Peg, SW and Geodoc having their own fun in the background!
http://i590.photobucket.com/albums/ss349/Queenofallthings/118-3.jpg
This picture made me laugh, I was zooming in on Peg, SW and Geodoc when Jeff did his "signature" thumbs up /...pictures not the best quality, but it made me laugh that everyone was getting into the "thumbs up" mode!
http://i590.photobucket.com/albums/ss349/Queenofallthings/119-1.jpg
Peg and SW and Jeff and MM....they never got out of that pool all afternoon
http://i590.photobucket.com/albums/ss349/Queenofallthings/120-3.jpg
Mini Montana finally gave up on Jeff, she didn't think he was trying hard enough to learn how to float so Jasmine took over! As soon as she would let him go, down he went....I eventually tried to teach him too...let's just say, none of us were successful!!!

We had the best first day at the pool and I was keeping my fingers crossed that the rest of our vacation those darn hurricanes would stay away so we could continue to enjoy our afternoons at the resort!!

Up next.....dinner at our favorite restaurant!!!!

What a great afternoon! My DH can't float worth beans either. I think it has something to do with his body mass. He doesn't have enough fat on him. So he has a higher density. I, on the other hand, have no trouble floating. Plenty of lower density fat on me:laughing:

Yes, I'm definitely an early riser....I was awake at 410am but stayed in bed hoping for more sleep!!

We didn't have a pool day when we went in Jan/Feb because it was too cold and after being in the World in August, I never thought those words would ever come out of my mouth:eek:

It looks like you all had a great time at your pool break! I wish our trip had been longer so we could have had pool breaks too!

Looking forward to more :goodvibes

We only started taking pool breaks when we started going in August which was 2006...before that I was a commando....up at the crack of dawn and back no earlier that 10pm!! I do enjoy the more relaxed pace now...could have something to do with getting older too I imagine:rotfl2:

Looks like it was a great afternoon at the pool. Sounds like there was a little too much swimming and not enough drinking though. :lmao: Just kidding!

The loungers at the AKL pool are comfy. I saw plenty of people taking naps in them back in march.

You are absolutely right...I only had one drink...which is wrong, completely wrong:lmao:

I could definitely have napped in those loungers but that darn humidity and scorching temps prevented that from happening!!!:lmao:

That pool looks so nice and relaxing!!! I want to be there now!!

I don't blame you for skipping the gym, I would too :rotfl:

Me too! I did something really foolish the other day there and was checking flights to Orlando :rolleyes1 that are direct from Winnipeg! I want so badly to be back in my happy place....not going to happen unless the lottery fairies are looking out for me:worship:

Thank you for that....I just thought the gym would be waiting for me when I got home...and it was:goodvibes

Oh and a side note, while in Chicago this past weekend I could have sworn I saw Jas! I wish now I would've asked to take her picture, but she sure has a twin. :)

Can't wait to read more!!! :lovestruc

-I watched the Emmy's too! I really wanted some of the other shows/celebs to win, but I was so happy for Modern Family! I've never seen the show, but it's on my list of shows to watch!
-What a nice pic of the three of you :)
-Love the fairy pics! I wanted to meet them on my last trip at toontown but by the time we got there at about 45 min. after park opening the line was already 55 min. long :( Oh well, there's always next time!
-Boo POTC! At least you, hopefully, got to ride it later in the trip!
-AWW! The Splash pic is so sweet! And I'm starting to like Jeff even more! Tell Jaz to watch out :) Lol :)
-HM is my second favorite MK ride! Splash is my 1st :)
-Lucky Lucky Girl!!!!!!!! I wish it was only 5 more weeks until I went!
-I love AKL's pool!
-Looks like you all had a wonderful time at the pool!

You really need to check out Modern Family! I think you'll love it! I will definitely tell Jas to watch out;) Splash is Jasmine's fav at MK! We had the best afternoon by that pool!!

Makes me want to head over to the pool! Ive never actually been 'carded' to be there though... but I suppose it does make sense :thumbsup2

Ive seen a lot of dust spots or humidity on camera... and im not sure thats what those are in the picture with the girls ;)

I eventually went down and bought Jeff some beer so he could have a drink in the room while we were getting ready to go for dinner:rolleyes1

I keep looking at the picture and my sister was telling her girls our thoughts on it and her youngest one thought it was cool...her older one was just freaked out:rotfl2: It brings me peace to think she is with us:hug:

The pool looks like it was a lot of fun! Afternoons spent swimming and goofing off in the water are the best.
Poor Jeff, floating doesn't seem to be his strong suit, but kudos to MM and Jasmine for trying to teach him!:thumbsup2

They are the best way to spend afternoon aren't they;) I was impressed at how long MM tried, but when she was done, she was done:rotfl2:

Great update!! Everyone looks like they are having a blast. I still need to explore around AKL, it looks like a great family resort.
Oh and a side note, while in Chicago this past weekend I could have sworn I saw Jas! I wish now I would've asked to take her picture, but she sure has a twin. :)

It is such a great resort, there is something there for everyone!

How funny is that! I've often heard we all have a twin and I guess you saw hers! I can't wait to hear about Chicago!! I just know you had a great time!:woohoo:

I promised another update Sunday evening and clearly that didn't happen but here it is now! I ended off with our wonderful afternoon by the pool and then it was time to head up to our room and out for our dinner ADR!
http://i590.photobucket.com/albums/ss349/Queenofallthings/121-3.jpg
We went straight out to the balcony to see what we could see....and we got a treat! This young man was feeding the ostrishes and putting some food out for the Eland (which we named Ellen) then he was off!! It really was neat to be able to watch this right from our balcony and realize, once again, just how lucky we were!

It was time to jump in the showers so we needed to get to it! Thought we would take a couple of pictures before we left the hotel!
http://i590.photobucket.com/albums/ss349/Queenofallthings/124-2.jpg
Jeff took this one of Jasmine and I! It is one of my favorites from the trip!
http://i590.photobucket.com/albums/ss349/Queenofallthings/125-2.jpg
Jeff and his best girl! I love this one of the two of them...I just think they are so cute together!:lovestruc
http://i590.photobucket.com/albums/ss349/Queenofallthings/126-1.jpg
We decided instead of taking the bus to Epcot that we would take a bus to DHS and get the boat to Epcot! This was we could show Jeff some of the other resorts that otherwise he wouldn't get to see! Of course, he was game for anything! Here is the gang waiting for the boat! Not sure if you can tell, but we are first in line so we knew we would get to sit in the back...my favorite!!!
http://i590.photobucket.com/albums/ss349/Queenofallthings/127-2.jpg
Jasmine insisted I give up the camera so I could be in some of the pictures....well ok then:rolleyes1
http://i590.photobucket.com/albums/ss349/Queenofallthings/128-1.jpg
Of all the resorts we saw, this is the one Jeff wants to stay at on one of our trips!! He loved the look...again, so great to see thru someone else's eyes!
http://i590.photobucket.com/albums/ss349/Queenofallthings/129-1.jpg
I guess all the fun times at the pool wore poor MM out....she was out like a light....isn't she just the cutest little thing?
http://i590.photobucket.com/albums/ss349/Queenofallthings/130-1.jpg
Boardwalk sign as we were leaving the Swan/Dolphin
http://i590.photobucket.com/albums/ss349/Queenofallthings/131-2.jpg
The Boardwalk....I loved Kouzzina for breakfast and I hope I can convince Jasmine to try it for dinner one of these trips! She can be a tad fussy when it comes to her food...Jeff, he'd go in a heartbeat!
http://i590.photobucket.com/albums/ss349/Queenofallthings/132-2.jpg
Love the shopping and wandering that is to be had at The Boardwalk....one of these years we really need to stay here! I want to know what it feels like to be able to walk to Epcot!!
http://i590.photobucket.com/albums/ss349/Queenofallthings/133-2.jpg
This is Jasmine's pick as her dream resort!! Jeff thought is was just ok .... it made for an interesting conversation on the boat !
http://i590.photobucket.com/albums/ss349/Queenofallthings/134-2.jpg
Waterslide....and yes, my Jasmine would do it!
http://i590.photobucket.com/albums/ss349/Queenofallthings/135-2.jpg
Finally, we arrive at the International Gateway! If I haven't mentioned it before I LOVE LOVE LOVE World Showcase! My absolute favorite thing to do with an evening in WDW is to be here!
http://i590.photobucket.com/albums/ss349/Queenofallthings/136-2.jpg
Sorry, not the greatest shot but I was getting very excited at this point, why you ask????
http://i590.photobucket.com/albums/ss349/Queenofallthings/137-2.jpg
Because this lovely young man was just waiting to pour me......
http://i590.photobucket.com/albums/ss349/Queenofallthings/138-2.jpg
wait for it...Geodoc has to pay first apparently before he'll hand over the goods.....
http://i590.photobucket.com/albums/ss349/Queenofallthings/139-2.jpg
My Grey Goose Slushie...is that love in my eyes...yes it sure is!!!
http://i590.photobucket.com/albums/ss349/Queenofallthings/140-2.jpg
Jasmine's exact words to Jeff were "oh look how happy my mommy is...give her a GGS and all is well in the world" ... does she know me or what?
http://i590.photobucket.com/albums/ss349/Queenofallthings/141-2.jpg
Enjoying our delicious glasses of heavenly goodness...now let's stop with the picture takin and get to drinkin...maybe we can get 2 in before our ADR???
http://i590.photobucket.com/albums/ss349/Queenofallthings/142-2.jpg
This is one of those pictures that I take on every trip we go on...this is one of my favorites! I know how happy they were to be here together and you could just feel it!
http://i590.photobucket.com/albums/ss349/Queenofallthings/143-2.jpg
My profile pic on FB....love it!
http://i590.photobucket.com/albums/ss349/Queenofallthings/144-2.jpg

http://i590.photobucket.com/albums/ss349/Queenofallthings/145-2.jpg
You'd think these two had been drinking! Nope, just trying on our nation's beanie's!!! I love this picture, I think what I love the most is they didn't care who was looking at them they were going to have fun and that was all there was to it!!!

So...have you guessed where we were headed for dinner???

great idea to take the boat over :) I just recently took my first ride on the epcot resort boats and absolutely loved it! now it is a must do for me!!! Cute that jeff loved the swan and dolphin. My brother was going to stay there for his honeymoon but after a bad experience with trying to get dining reservations and having complications due to the weird swan and dolphin policies they switched to wilderness lodge. Swan and dolphin is definitely very pretty! Also love that jasmine and jeff were debating about their dream resort. He is defintely a keeper :) MM sleeping is adorable :) Love the recieving and drinking the GGS pics :) My mom offically is making that drink a priority this trip. she realized she needs a new disney drink because she doesn't love the mexico margaritas anymore :( I love that last pic of jasmine and jeff with the canadian mickey heads :) I love how each country in world showcase has disney stuff themed specifically for their country. I'm guessing either france or lecellier for your dinner because those are the two countries featured in this post.

I'm thinking more and more we'll have to plan a trip to AKL now... I'm half considering surprising my DH with a long weekend for Valentines day, if I can work out the details. We ate dinner at Jiko and spent some time walking around the resort beforehand. Besides the bus service only "feature", I feel could quickly become a favorite resort!!!

Looks like your MK day was great, and I'm soooo glad I'm not the only person who gets giddy over GGS. That poor boy at the cart, he must get that all the time. :lmao:

I'm so happy that you enjoyed the basket and what Queen forgot to mention is that she has been ever so helpful in helping me through a difficult time when she had enough worries of her own...she sure is a great friend! :goodvibes

I'm playing catch up...yay on having a great meal at Raglan Road! The food sure looks yummy.

Your pics of MK are making me wish I was still there...we had the same with the family of the day. They were already there and didn't arrive on the train.

Lol the interaction with the fairies sounds hilarious! I'm glad you got to stay in the photo.

Love the AKL pool pics...what a great relaxing day.

Yay on getting your GGS and how happy you look with that in your hand! :thumbsup2 I'm going to guess you went to Le Cellier for dinner - looking forward to finding out. Once again I'm glad to be able to speak with you again...sure missed you.

Heading to Le Cellier? I hope so, because as you'll read in my TR soon (yes, I started it already today!!:thumbsup2), my date night we had planned there did not go as planned and I'd love to read/see about it.

Hey girl!!! I am loving your TR btw!!! I'm in need of one now too....lottery, think lottery!!!

Oh no...this does not sound good? Was my homeland not good to you, do I need to call someone!!! cause I will!!! So happy you're home:hug:

:rotfl2: Were you going into withdrawal when your slushie was gone??? :rotfl2: Your face in that last picture is too funny. Your face says, "Ok, Ok, enough of this picture taking - I need another drink".

I absolutely love the pictures of you and Jasmine. I like how you have the matchy, matchy black and white thing going on. Very nice!

Great update. so much fun to read!

Yes...yes I was....I know you understand that:hug: I did need another one and they said no we have to go to dinner:confused3

I love that you noticed that, neither of us noticed that we were both wearing black and white...MM actually pointed it out on the boat:worship:

Thanks Mary Ellen:hug:

-That's such a good pic of you and Jasmine!
-They are so cute together
-It's neat to hear everyone's opinions about the resorts! My pick would be the poly or the new animation resort!
-It's funny because my mom has never tried that one--she did the grand marnier last trip and we both thought it was DELISH! (shhhhh!)
-How sweet! They are adorable together!
-LOVE the profile pic! How cute!

Thanks hon! The Poly is on my list too! You'll have to get your mom to try it next time!!!

Phew, I'm finally caught back up on your TR after our trip!:thumbsup2

I'm thinking more and more we'll have to plan a trip to AKL now... I'm half considering surprising my DH with a long weekend for Valentines day, if I can work out the details. We ate dinner at Jiko and spent some time walking around the resort beforehand. Besides the bus service only "feature", I feel could quickly become a favorite resort!!!

Looks like your MK day was great, and I'm soooo glad I'm not the only person who gets giddy over GGS. That poor boy at the cart, he must get that all the time. :lmao:

Lovely pictures, can't wait to read more!

I'm so happy that you're home and I am loving your report!!

I love the long weekend for Valentine's Day!! I love a good surprise:cloud9:

Giddy...that is the perfect word....I get giddy too!!!

Hey hun, I sure missed you whilst at Disney World and thought of you during our visit to AKL and then on seeing the Grey Goose Slushie in France!

I know I've said this to you already, but I missed you and I am so happy you're home!!

Aww hon, I would do anything for you:hug: Always here for you whenever you need me:hug: Dana (racefanof88) said it best when she said some of the best friends she has she met here on the Dis and I completely agree with her:hug:

I'm so happy you are all caught up and I can't wait until you start yours!

I popped over because I wasn't sure if I was all caught up...it simply made me want a drink--rough day and Back to School Night tonight. Think the parents would like me more if I served GGSs? :lmao:

I think they'll like you regardless:hug:but a GGS makes everything better:lovestruc The weekend is almost here my girl...hang in there:hug:

I just loved this update! First of all I got to see pictures of our DVC home, the Boardwalk! You definitely need to stay there someday soon! Nothing beats that walk over to Epcot for dinner! My favorite way to spend a Disney evening is also just wandering through the World Showcase. That is what is so great about the Boardwalk. It makes it so easy!

Thanks Jenny:hug: I love the Boardwalk and thought of you everytime we docked there!!

Awh those boat pictures are adorable! It's so cute how MM is fast asleeep.

Jeff and Jasmine make a really sweet couple. You can tell they really care about each other

I really love the picture of you and jasmine in the hotel room! And of course the one in front of the fountain. They are such great mother daughter shots. Most definitely frame-worthy :thumbsup2

You look SO happy with your GGS! It make me really crave one...even though it is only 10am here haha...

She tried to tell us she wasn't tired and the next time I looked over that's what I saw:lmao:

You are right honey, they do really care and more importantly, they are very respectful to each other....I love that!! Thanks honey, I can't decide which one to frame though:confused3 I'll have to keep thinking!

It's five o'clock somewhere sweetie:lmao:

I'm back from our trip, and finally had a chance to get caught up on your TR.

It looks like your first few days were awesome for everyone, but yikes about the crazy woman at the airport.

How exciting it must have been to see how excited Jeff was to take in everything for the first time

You and Jas look gorgeous in the World Showcase pics, and I'm guessing it was Le Cellier for dinner?

Can't wait to find out:goodvibes

So for all of you who said Le Cellier, you were right:cool1: We were so excited to get this reservation and since we were using the Tables in Wonderland card on this trip instead of the DDP we didn't care how much it cost for dinner:lmao: You gotta love 20% off food and alcholic bevies!! Our ADR was for 830pm and we arrived about 15 minutes before and checked in at the podium before entering the restaurant. Daniel helped us there and what a hoot he was! Very nice young man and so easy to carry on a conversation with! Once we were thru with that we headed down to the restaurant where there were a few other families waiting!
http://i590.photobucket.com/albums/ss349/Queenofallthings/146-2.jpg
Here is MM, SW and Peg waiting to be called in for dinner! The girls were having a great time at the Kidcot spots as you can see! Before long, Daniel came into the restaurant and asked if anyone wanted to do some Canadian Trivia....didn't take him too long to figure out we were Canadian and told us we couldn't play that we were cheating:rotfl2: We were laughing as he was trying to come up with Canadian Trivia that wasn't on the sheet they normally work with! He asked everyone how Canada got it's name! No one had a clue, including my family, but I knew so I finally raised my hand and asked very politely if I could answer! Daniel said I could answer and my answer was right!! Jasmine turned to me and said "whoa mom, how did you know that???" Well, I paid attention in Canadian History I guess dear:lmao: Anyhoodle, it wasn't long before we were called into dinner! For those of you who don't know or have never been to Le Cellier, the dining room is separated into provinces just like Canada and we were seated in our home province of Manitoba:woohoo: We had a lovely young lady who looked after us and before long was off to get our beverages!
http://i590.photobucket.com/albums/ss349/Queenofallthings/147-1.jpg
All set and ready for dinner, we were actually starving to death by this point!! Jasmine, Geodoc and SW ready for dinner
http://i590.photobucket.com/albums/ss349/Queenofallthings/148-2.jpg
MM, Peg and moi ready too...my GGS went down a little too quickly and let's just say some bread right about now would be good!! I elected not to have another alcoholic beverage for dinner, just some sparkling water!
http://i590.photobucket.com/albums/ss349/Queenofallthings/149-1.jpg
Jeff was super excited to eat here! All I kept thinking was that I hope we hadn't made too big of a deal about how awesome it was here and that he be disappointed...but it was thumbs up all the way!
http://i590.photobucket.com/albums/ss349/Queenofallthings/150-2.jpg
I love this picture of the two of them....don't they look content, I think that's the best word for this picture!
http://i590.photobucket.com/albums/ss349/Queenofallthings/153-2.jpg
Jeff and I ordered the same thing, pork tenderloin over corn polenta and greens....there are no words that would adequately describe how much Jeff and I loved this meal....he talked about it the entire trip! It was hands down the best meal I have ever had anywhere on property! Sorry, I forgot to take the picture before I started eating:rolleyes1
http://i590.photobucket.com/albums/ss349/Queenofallthings/154-1.jpg
Jasmine's beer and cheddar soup...that's all she eats at Le Cellier and one of these trips I know she's going to order two bowls:lmao: She eats that and the pretzel bread and she is in seventh heaven.
http://i590.photobucket.com/albums/ss349/Queenofallthings/155-2.jpg
I know there has been speculation that they no longer serve the chocolate moose here....well here's proof they do!!! Both SW and MM got this and they loved it once again!
http://i590.photobucket.com/albums/ss349/Queenofallthings/156-2.jpg
Ok, now time for a funny story! Once we were all finished our meals, Jeff turned to me and said I'm still hungry! This boy can eat!! I called the server over and Jeff told her he would like an order of poutine...her eyes went as big as saucers and she said "I'm so sorry, but the kitchen is closed all I can get for you is dessert! Jeff is not a dessert eater so he just said "No problem I'll just grab a burger and fries when we get back to the resort:lmao:and he did!!

Now onto dessert... when you walk into the restaurant now you pass by the dessert table. Jasmine nudged me and said "my favorite cake isn't here". I thought she had lost her mind and didn't think a thing of it until it was time to order dessert! The girl went around the table and Jasmine was the last to order....she said "nothing for me thanks" and the girl said are you sure? Yup I'm sure, my favorite dessert isn't there and nothing else looks appealing to me! The server asked her what it was and she said it was now part of some trio (sorry I can't remember the name of it) and that you get a tiny piece along with two other things. Jasmine said no thank you and off the server went. Well, what did she come back with.....a whole piece of Jasmine's favorite cake...she had told the Chef about her conversation with Jasmine and that it was Jasmine's birthday (she told us not to tell on her and we didn't) and how nice it would be if she could have her cake. How could the Chef say no? Better still, she didn't charge Jasmine for her cake! Jeff was blown away by how out of her way this young lady went and then not to charge...we kept telling him it was the Disney Magic hard at work and that it would be around us for 2 weeks...get used to it!!
http://i590.photobucket.com/albums/ss349/Queenofallthings/157-1.jpg
I order the lemon cheesecake...it was just ok....I really was very full and shouldn't have ordered anything, but I did:rolleyes1

Overall, we had such an enjoyable evening starting in France and ending in Canada! It was now time to head back to the resort because we had another very full day coming up again!!

Great meal at Le Cellier! Did you notice any difference now that it is 2 TS? (Other than I'm sure it's more expensive.) I love that the server brought Jasmine a slice of her favorite cake. I've always thought the servers in Le Cellier are some of the most thoughtful on property. I've always chalked it to the fact that they are Canadian;)

Okay, Jeff totally sounds like my brother. I'm ashamed to admit it, but one year when we were eating at Teppan Edo, he asked the kids at the table why they were refusing the vegetables that they give with the meal (they didn't even want them on their plate). All three kids said that they didn't like them. So Jason says "I'll eat them". They said fine, and Jason ate his entire meal, on top of the additional three servings of vegetables. And yet, he manages to stay skinny as can be. Men suck. :lmao:

I'm glad that your meal was good. Honestly, I've only ever eaten steak at Le Cellier, but your port meal looks really good!

That was so sweet of the server to get Jasmine a slice of the cake that was her favorite. It always helps to mention something, right?

I teach 10th and 11th grade English...fortunately, they seemed to like me even without the GGS, but I could have used one at the end of the night... :lmao:

Catching up already and only just started the TR... failure, okay catching up now...

YAY MK! It is amazing how everyone magically (emphasis on magically) everyone gets up at Disney. How I feel about that, since I can vouch for us kids, is there is nothing to look forward to at home in the morning, you can sleep in, but at Disney, there is just too much to look forward to for you to actually sleep :teeth: Totally makes sense, right?

Oh I love the opening show at MK! It is just so cute and really wakes you up and starts off your day right at the most magical place on Earth. (: And you just gained many cool points for singing during the show, in my book that doesn't count as embarrassing, and I KNOW embarrassing, I.... uh nevermind :thumbsup2 And that is such a great location for a Cindy's Castle pic, I must go by there to get a new perspective of the castle.

Oh, poor you getting thrown under the bus at a M&G, but I think Iridessa seemed to like you better than the two non-grownups on the other side just saying Haha And you totally saved the pic with your great pose ;)

A big thumbs up (I say this Jeff kid totally stole that from me) to riding Splash Mountain and Haunted Mansion first! Probably two of the best rides in MK, hands down and I love the new queue for the HM. Hopefully it will still be standing in 2013 for me to enjoy :cloud9:

Oh wow, the pool at Jambo House is so much different from the one at Kidani. That just totally amazes me. It's always so quiet and it's well hidden at Kidani where the one at Jambo looks so open, but I guess hey need that with a higher residency. Haha @ Jeff's failed attempts at learning how to float... :sad2: Hopeless... But all these thumbs up definitely make up for it. :)

That was such a great decision to go take the boat ride from DHS to EPCOT so Jeff could see all the resorts. The BoardWalk resorts are just beautiful and I must say your daughter has good taste in resorts, I REALLY want to stay at the Yacht Club, so pretty. Jeff needs to understand the difference between an awesome resort and a resort that doesn't understand a fish is not a dolphin :rolleyes1 :teeth:

World Showcase at night is so pretty. I think that's primarily whenever I wander over there. Future World during the day, WS at night... simple! I love the picture you got in front of the fountain, a hidden gem photo op, so pretty. I also gotta give huge props to Jeff and Jasmine showing off their Mickey pride with some awesome ears! :thumbsup2

Oh gosh, why did you have to go to Le Cellier?! I'm hungry and enough and those food pictures make my mouth water... oh the day I get to try Cheddar Soup and Maple Creme Brulee :goodvibes My life will be complete then. So glad to see the Chocolate Moose is live and well there as well. And that was so sweet of the chef to make Jasmine her special cake, free of charge and that this was Jeff's first experience of Disney Magic, I'm guessing he was hooked after this trip. ::yes::

Can't wait to read more! :mickeyjum

Sorry it took me so long to get back. Between the 6 day trip to NY and back and the Yankees being in the playoffs (hey... it's October.. of course the Yanks are playing!) I've been a bit busy. And today's been not much but playing taxi! I'm just about ready for the boys to be able to drive their-darn-selves!! LOL

I did some quoting but then I stopped due to time constraints. And since it's been so long since you've posted some of what I'm replying to, I just hope you remember what you said so what I say makes sense.

Ok MEK, here's the story behind my DISname......i needed to come up with a username for twitter, so I combined my hobby of Geocaching with what I do for a living and geodoc was created! (I know not that exciting) for those wanting to know more about Geocaching you can PM me or read about it on Purplepegs first trip report! To anyone on twitter... I'm geodoc99.....and now back to the TR!

Anyone wants to learn something about Geocaching, just get with Geodoc. He took me out a while back and it was a LOT of fun. It's not something that my kids and I ever really got into afterwards but it was sooooooo much fun to go out playing in the woods with him!

Can I be part of the "girl's only trip" ????? !!! lol

I want in too, please!!!!!

[QUOTE=Queenofallthings;42688746]It really was so sweet and thoughtful:) Dinner was so good Mary Ellen! I wish we could have stayed a little longer as the band was just starting to play...but like you, I'll look forward to going back in the future!;)

I saw them one time and it's a lot of fun! But go rent Riverdance and enjoy it and you've pretty much got it there.

Okay... that's all the quoting I did. Here comes the challenging part:

What a beautiful basket!!! And dinner at Raglan Road! Oh, I so love that place!!! Didn' know about the Guinness dip.... Hmmm... sounds like a happy hour there in my near future! One time my girlfriend and I went over to House of Blues for an Apocalyptica concert. Before the show we had drinks and appetizers at RR. I always wanted to try Guinness, but it's not a cheap beer. But they have a sample size at RR (of course!) and from that point forward I was solid hooked!

Loved the pics from MK! Especially HM! It's my favorite. I can't wait to get tix again so I can get over there and see the interactive queue elements.

As for poor Snow riding HM again after seeing the aura, all I can say is y'all are sooooooooooo mean to her! Which, of course, I find funny as all get out since I'm just as mean to my kids! :rotfl2:

(Re Jas & Jeff drinking around the world)... now that sounds like the kind of trip that you could definitely provide them some expert guidance with, huh?

No need to go to the gym when you're on vacation. Micky Magic erases all calories, doesn't it?

Regarding your first afternoon at the pool.... Lemme get this straight... the lady that had (a few?) pina coladas is going to steady the girl who is not old enough to drink? Yeah, must make some kind of sense in the WDW universe, huh?

Thanks for the shot from the boat as you go to the International Gateway! Love it!!!!

The first shot you get of France besides the tower is the wine stand.... why doesn't that surprise me????? LOL

Wait a doggone minute... you can't tell us the question (How did Canada get the name) but not give us the answer. C'mon... I'm curious as all get out and too lazy to google it!

Okay... whew! Caught up. I'm going to try to be better about getting on here and hopefully real life won't keep getting in the way of what's important. But now I have to go pick up one of my student deputy sheriffs (local Explorer post connected with the Sheriff's department) who's been on parking detail at a local haunted house. Catch you soon.... promise!!!

I'm so glad that I am not too far behind (it's been impossible to check in on TR's while we are in Florida and we don't get home until Wednesday).

Your afternoon at the pool looked delightful and the boat ride over to Epcot/WS like fun. I'm glad you had a great meal at LeCellier. Unfortunately, we were a little disappointed in our meal there this past Wednesday...but I'll go into that more when I do my TR and dining review.

It's crazy how much guys can eat. I have watched my younger brother go through boxes of food before and still want more. :confused3 I'm lucky if I finish my entree and dessert.

Our waitress tried to tell Jeff it wasn't as good as any poutine he would have had at home...I'm not sure if that is true or if she was just trying to make him feel better! It was a fantastic evening...one we won't soon forget!

Ok so how did Canada get it's name? You forgot to tell us :)

Oops sorry about that, ok, here goes: "Kanata" is the aboriginal word for village, more accurately, the Huron-Iroquois word for village. When Jacques Cartier was meeting with the aboriginals they kept referring to Kanata which was the village at which they had their meetings. He soon used the word on maps for the area surrounding Quebec City and over time it became Canada! That's how I remember but remember I took Canadian History in grade 6.:lmao:

They loved those Duffy's and everyday we were at Epcot they were with us!

My sister kept saying to me the entire trip "where does he put it and how does he stay in such great shape" I answered with I don't know but I want to hurt him:rolleyes1

No difference except the prices which I honestly thought were awfully high! $42 for a steak:scared1: sorry, I just couldn't bring myself to pay that...the pork was $30 and worth every penny!

I will agree with you, the servers there are wonderful!
