I mentioned this pie in a thread about specialties on the community board. I got a few requests for the recipe so I will post it here. There is a "Disney"story to this pie. Years ago(like 16) I had some sort of chcolate chip pie at the Main St Bake Shop. A couple years ago when I thought of it again, I went on a quest to find a recipe for the same thing. I dont think this is the identical recipe, but its close...and yummy! ;)

1 unbaked 9 in pie shell(I use the Pillsbury ready made stuff)
2 large eggs
1/2 cup flour
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 1/2 sticks butter
1 cup Nestle Toll House semisweet chcolate chips
1 cup chopped walnuts
whip cream or icecream(optional)

Preheat oven to 325
Beat eggs on high until foamy
Beat in flour, sugar, brown sugar, and butter
Stir in chips & nuts
Spoon into shell
Bake 55-60 minutes or until knife inserted half way between outside edge and center comes out clean
Cool on wire rack(I just stick the pie pan on a burner on the stove, off of course)
Serve warm, top with whipped cream or ice cream

I then store it in the refrigerator, but when I cut a piece I pop it in the microwave for about 15 second, just enough to get the chips soft. Thats the best way to eat it.
Enjoy!

CamColt -- I'm going to have to find the specialties thread. It sounds cool.

I make the pie too. Isn't it yummy? I tend to leave out the nuts though. I put in more chips to compensate. You can never have to many chips in a recipe. :D

Thats a good idea Beth, especially for those who have nut allergies. This coming from the mother of a child with peanut allergies. ;)

...and am still pigging out on the leftovers! Unfortunately, I'll just have to eat it all, since my dh is on a hunting trip... :p

I can vouch for this recipe, CamColt's Mom gave it to me a couple of years ago, and I now make it all the time. It's gone as soon as it hits the table at my family functions.

Hi Kate :)
