Here's a WWYD for ya! :goodvibes

Last November I made reservations for my friend and her family at Jambo in a value studio for this October for $360. Well..today she contacts me to say she can't go now but she's thinking about renting her reservation to her sister. I'm thinking...hhhmmm maybe I'll put it in my name and take the kids leaving hubby home! But..we have a trip coming up in December so thats a lot of school days to miss. 4 in Oct + 5 in December??? It's during food and wine which I love though. Ugh..should I just rent it to someone else or use it myself? The points expire at the end of november so it's either use them or lose them. :confused3

Two Disney trips in one year?! Go for it. Awful nice of your friend to offer renting your points to her sister, though.

I'd let her rent/give the reservation to her sister (unless you really want to go at that time and stay in that particular room type). All you have to do is call MS and change the name on the reservation.

I'd probably go for it if I had valid, active AP's. Not sure I'd do it if I had to use MYW days.
Oct is good for pool time. Dec can be questionable.

I'm giving her a few days to find a renter. If she doesn't than I think I'm gonna go for it. It would be weird to go without hubby...but then again he's going to Aruba without us so fair is fair lol.

I already have an AP so I'm covered. The 3 older kids need passes so APs would be great since they'd cover Oct, Dec, and next June! plus the baby is still free for another year!!!

Glad to see you making lemonaid out of your lemons!! Good for you. I see this as a trip that is meant to be. I would be doing the exact same thing as you!! Go on your last minute trip during F&W and have a ball.

:lmao:

That's exactly what I was thinking mainly because if I had a friend back out last minute, I'd say: "No, that's fine, I'll just go with the kids!"

Sometimes the unplanned, last minute, out of the ordinary trips turn out to be the most MAGICAL!! Enjoy!

I have been dying to go to Food and Wine and I am borrowing almost all of my next year points for my trip September 1-6!

It sounds like a chance for mom and kids to do MNSSHP while at WDW. I'd go for it.

I say go for the extra trip! I have almost the identical scenario here. The group that was renting my points was set to go last week of September and DH and I were set to go in October. BTW .... I have an October UY, so the points used for rental expire 9/30 (same day as their check out). Anyway, now that they have backed out, my daughters and I are making the trip in September and DH I will go in October, as planned.

This is the first and LAST time we rent points (even to friends). They just don't get it. :confused3. The friendship is still intact because we returned all of their money, but we certainly learned our lesson in the process.

On the positive side, my 2 daughters and I are spending 5 nights in a 2 bedroom at Kidani ...... Lots of room. We plan on spending very little time in the parks giving us lots of relaxing resort time.
