HI, just a question to anyone thats recently stayed at the Bay Take Towers. I belong to the Boardwalk and my kids, ages 18, 14 and 12 are use to having free run of the Boardwalk. So my question is there alot of places inside the the BLT for kids to do. My wifes concerned there going to get boarded on the property. Thank You in advance for your answers.

Just got back. DD 18 and DS 12.

The arcade is large. Many shops to visit without even getting wet/out of the AC (Contemporary, Polynesian, Grand Floridian)

They have two feature pools/slides (BLT and the Contemporary or pool hop at Poly/GF)

Roasted Marshmellows each night at 7:30 p.m. Movies on the beach at 9:00 each night. Community Hall at BLT. We played Shuffle Board and Tennis at BLT as well.

Walk the beach around the whole area.

MK is a 8 minute walk away too.

I have two kids 17 and 14. They loved BLT. Although BLT doesn't have the "walking" areas that BW does, they do have access to the monorail. Riding it and stoping at each resort is a fun thing to do and good way to pass time, as long as you are okay with it. BLT also has Sammy Duvall's and your kids can rent the sea racyers there. Although the 12 year old isn't old enough to drive alone. There is a much larger area to cover in Bay Lake then the other locations that have these. The arcade at CR is definately the largest on property and enjoyable for kids.

I was told about one floor in the Hotel for viewing the Fireworks display. Do you know what he's talking about ?

LOL, forgot to mention that. It is the Top of the World Lounge (TOWL), you will need to show your room key to get up there. It is really a cool place and my husband and I enjoyed it very much. My kids liked seeing the fireworks but were not interested in the lounge. It is a GREAT place to see the fireworks though and they do have a light menu. I would hightly recommend it. Here is a link with what is offered:

The last time I stayed at BLT, you also had to show your DVC member card. You had to be members staying on points, not cash reservation, not guests of members. You show it to a Cast Member on the bottom floor, and they escort you in the elevator to the top. So it is not just come and go as you please, or when you please. In the future, I hope my daughter will be able to use my points for a stay, and still have access to TOWL, but if the system remains the same, I don't believe she will be able to.
If they have changed that, I am sure someone will correct the info. My only stay was the first 4 opening days, so they were careful with limiting access.

I would have thought they would get bored too. But other posters with kids in same age range said no. I was surprised with the answers.
I am a BLT owner, but enjoy the lively Boardwalk more.

I don't think they make you show your DVC card anymore. When we were there in June we just had to show our room card. Of course it could always just depend on the CM. I am pretty sure the card can tell the CM what they need to know. I should have clarified that you need to be a member staying on points, not a cash guest. As far as others visiting the lounge (guests, non members staying on points) from various posts here it seems to be sporatic and again depends on the CM.

I would agree the Boardwalk is more "lively", we love it there and are staying in November, I think BLT and the monorail are a nice change and you and your children will enjoy it.

We had to show our DVC card once last week, but only because after our room keys were reprinted for a third time (long story!) the CR front desk forgot to put "DVC" on the card. So one CM wanted to see my DVC membership card as well. Another CM barely looked at it and let us up.

Just wanted to say I am just back from my stay at BLT

DS11 wanted to drive his own searacer but we were told he had to be 12. So he rode with me.....your son just makes the mark to drive his own. They are lots of fun and I did actually see some kids around DS age/height/maturity level driving them.

So you can add that to your list of things for them to do.

My DS 11 also enjoyed the marshmellow roasting (DD did too come to think of it) and the movies...

Cool, I didn't know that. I thought you had to be 16 with a license to drive on your own, 12 to drive f you were with someone else. Poor DD 14 has been driving with one of us the last couple of times (including this past June). Maybe I just won't let her know that ;)

I have 3 DD's 16, 18 and 20 and have been staying at Ft. Wilderness (16 years) before buying at BLT and all 3 of my girls love riding the boats to the FT, VWL and back to BLT stopping along the way at each resort. They also LOVE being able to go to the MK whenever they want and staying as late as they want as long as they use the "buddy system" and cell to check in.

When we stayed there in May, I don't remember ever seeing an attendant at the elevator. We were in a GV so all we had to do was walk out the upstairs door to get to TOWL. It was great and brought back a lot of memories for our sons since we used to stay at the Contemporary when they were younger. Our grandkids wanted to be able to walk to the MK like their dad and uncle did.

she is not at the elevator - she is in the lobby - behind a desk that say either TOWL or Wishes -

just had to show my room key each time. had my blue card just in case - but never really needed it.

the CR arcade is definitely nice - but also go look at the Polyn - they changed it and now it is also BIG. I think slightly bigger than CR these days.

you can pool hop to both Polyn and GF - renting boats is definitely a nice way to spend an hour or more. think you can go to both bay lake and seven seas - remember that a boat away is FW/WL/VWL.

the monrail resort is a quick way to get to Polyn or GF.

the only activities (community hall) hall is at BLT - but CR (as well as the other hotels) have activities.

if you don't get the list at check in - go to the activities hall - it was on or near the door.

they have the new computer games and the wii system - plus a big tv - you can take out movies (only members get them for free)

the crafts are making things or painting things - some coloring for the younger group.
