Our limo dropped us off in front of BWV this morning. I immediately strolled to the room that I had requested. To my surprise, it didn't open as soon as I stood in front of it. Discouraged, I pulled out the key card I used last year. "Surely this will work," I thought. Nope. I had to walk all the way down the hallway to the lobby. I was on that line for a whole 5 minutes! Five minutes!!!!

Why can't Disney get its act together?!?!?! Does anyone have the number for Member Services?

You think that's bad! Well, let me tell you about my complaint. During my last trip the auto-breakfast maker wasn't working! Then, I went to the parks and they required a ticket for entry! WHAT!! When did that begin?! I even showed them my DVC membership card. THEY IGNORED IT! Man, I keep wondering if this whole DVC thing is worth it

My wife called last week for a dedicated 2br SV at BLT for mid September... would you believe there was nothing available! I am looking into our options to sell.

Now we had it rough.

There was 150 of us staying in a studio at OKW, disney felt we had to actually pay for more than ONE refillable mug!!??? ***!!??!!!

When we went to Pecos Bills and brought along 10 packages of hamburg rolls to make condiment sandwiches with off the toppings bar....THEY ACTUALLY STOPPED US!!!

The last straw however, was when we tried to make a little extra spending money by putting up signs in DTD area hotels offering our "discount laundry service". We got a call and was told we could NOT take in other's laundry and use the free machines by the pools for this purpose!!!???!!!!

I doubt we are EVER going back!!!!

I put on a lime green tshirt that had DVC OWNER across the front and the back and carried my DVC card in a lanyard around my neck for verification, scaled the balcony of a resort guest into the Savannah to pet the animals and feed them my leftovers only to be asked to leave the premisis. I called Le Cellier and they refused to deliver my dinner to my BLT presidential suite which i was upgraded to because of the electric shock i recieved from the static the rug in the lobby gave me. Well, I told them i had the super deluxe dining plan which i recieved because if the ink stain that i got my finger from the pen during check-in. Well, they still refused to deliver but this nice bell boy went and got my dinner for me but it was cold because it took the BLT managers (3 of them) 2 hours to before they understood who i was. But because my dinner was cold i recieved free annual passes for life. And since my favorite resort is AKV they said they would add the monorail there so i would not have to ride the bus.

So it's not just us? I was so hopeful things would change after JL left.

We finally broke down and tried that Magical Express thing. What a racket!
We had to shlep our own bags to and from the airport!
O'Hare is a big airport!

So I called to complain, suggesting I get free dues for five years for my trouble, and they were rude, making me feel like I didn't know what I was talking about in terms of how that express thingy works.

To think I was feeling guilty about my new hair dryer.

I think the auto-open doors was just a perk at one time. As we all know, DVC perks can disappear at any time...just like when Mickey and Minnie would do in-room babysitting for DVC members, but now it's gone. My kids really miss that!

After long airplane and ME rides, we arrived at BLT and walked all the way over to CR to dine at the California Grill. After dinner I handed them my KTTW card and told the waitress to use our dining plan to cover the meal. A few minutes later she came back and said "I'm sorry sir but you don't have the dining plan." I said "What? I thought everyone got free dining! We are DVC members."

Well if you think it's bad at the resorts...

Those CMs at the park are clueless. I showed my DVC card to the "Fast Pass Security Guard" at Soarin' and she just shrugged. So I explained that as a DVC member I now only had "unlimited Fast Pass" she was REALLY suppose to escort me directly to the front of the line so I wouldn't have to 'mingle' with "lessor" guests. She refused to do the right thing. I wrote down her name, time etc and will be calling Claire directly to ask for compensation. What do you folks think? 100 points with no dues for my lifetime? Seems reasonable to me!

I am now on my way to Toy Story Mania to make sure THEY understand the rules. If the same thing happens to me there I expect that Disney may have to declare bankruptcy due to the court judgement I will win when I sue! I own part of this park and they need to treat me accordingly!

I'm still waiting to hear back from Member Services regarding my suggestions for new member perks:
1) executive sponge bath
2) dinner with Robert Iger (or sponge bath)
3) honorary monorail captain
4) full access to Disney costume room throughout length of stay
5) front of the line buffet privileges
6) use of Walt's personal bathroom in the castle
7) need a dinner companion? Cinderella is available.
8) right to "graze" on the crops in the Land pavillion
9) have to "go" while in the pool? no need to get out -- just go
10) exclusive use of backstage secret passageways in the parks

If they don't respond within the next ten minutes, I am selling my points and going to Dollywood.

Now you tell me. I was sure this was all directed at me. I was on the phone with member satisfaction at 9:00 sharp this morning. The CM asked that I send her the link to the thread so she could understand the issue.
I could tell when she began reading the posts, as she let out a tremendous gasp and had to immediately put me on hold without a word. I'm pretty sure it was a gasp.
Apparently she was also impacted by the posts as well. After 10 minutes on hold she returned, her voice unsteady, sniffling and openly admitting she was in tears.
At that point I felt bad and said "you know what? Let's just forget it".
Then came the Disney magic. She replied "I can't just forget this. I can't thank you enough for bringing this to our attention. Since you had to withstand this online badgering, we're gong to build website where only you get to book your own vacations. We'll need a few months to build it."

So there you have it. You never know what you can get until you speak up!

Thank you everyone for adding a bit of levity. I’ve had a stressful week and this thread is just what the doctor ordered.

On to a more serious topic... DW and I are planning to renew our vows at a ceremony at WDW. She’s allowed me to plan which resort to stay at, but she firmly hinted to GF… plus, we’ve been saving points from the last 5 years to be able to afford that place. I think it will be nice to spend 10 days there.

We have a couple of idea for our ceremony. First we thought about using the TOWL. I know that we’d have to get studio at BLT, but that’s not a problem, we have 5 years of points saved. We are planning to invite 50 people, give or take 30. Now, the most time consuming part will be getting everyone up to the top. Will I have to come down each time to show my key to the CM at the desk? Or can I just make photo copies of my KTTW and give them to our guests?

If that doesn’t work, we could plan to have it in the BLT lobby. It will be fast and we’ll be quiet. I wouldn’t want to draw any attention… Especially from any of the CMs.

Let me get to the real reason I am writing this post. Since we will have the studio at BLT, I wouldn’t want it to sit vacant that one night. So, we were thinking about offering it to my MIL. Do you think she will like it?

This is my family’s story:

We made reservations for 6 nights at SSR. I was able to get one more vacation day from work, so called MS hoping to add an additional night at BCV for a change of pace, and it was available. Kids loved SAB. We had 7 days fun at the parks with no problems to mention. Weather was fabulous. Fastpasses worked great. We rode every ride that we wanted without waiting for more than 10 minutes in any line. We had ADR’s for every night and didn’t wait for more than 5 minutes once. The trip was truly wonderful. Certainly some of the best Disney memories we’ve ever had. (True story)

My problem is that everything was so great that we just want to go back for more. Unfortunately, we are out of points and can’t afford any more. I really don’t think that it is fair for them to create such a magical environment to make us desire to visit so badly when it is beyond our means. Don’t you think that they should give us additional DVC points as compensation?

I assure you I was in no way seeking to hurt anyone's feelings. Simply trying to try to "pay back" a couple chuckles.

When is humor not at least indirectly based on human behavior?

But if laughing at ourselves is off limits, look at the bright side... If someone really read these and saw enough of themselves in them to take it personally, could some good perhaps come of that?

DVC has gone way over the top. They expect me to pay for the points.

Late last year I was talking to my guide and someone ran out of the office screaming. I asked what that was all about. Guide said no big deal he asked what perks he gets. His guide slipped and said J. Lewis.

Was it generated to poke fun at those that have contributed, maybe, was it posted as satire to recent threads that others have posted about problems such as dirty rooms etc., lack of perks, free dining etc.

I think so.

Just my opinion, and respect that others do not agree which is fine.

So are you guys saying that when we go to disney and the month that we going- 3 out of 4 kids are having their birthdays that month; that not all of the children, and I mean the unbirthday month child, is not going to be able to bareback ride the zebras and the ostrichs at AKL when we have specially added two nights there at the beginning of our MAGICAL PIXIE DUST trip? This is going to be a long run on sentence so pay close attention. Well I might as well unpack the corn I was planning to use to lure them our way. Hmmmmmmmmmm that will leave room in the luggage for a hair dryer to come home.

A coworker seriously asked me yesterday if you could pet the tigers at AK! :scared1:

It's a good thing the RFID bracelets are coming. That'll fix a lot of the problems described here.

But wait...its Disney and isnt there cause for celebration on an un-birthday? I mean, Alice herself did it. Eh, just grab another celebrate birthday button and call it good! :thumbsup2

BTW, your welcome to all of you. After all, I take full credit for the new pool as SSR. It was the outcome of my complaint that the bathtub in my villa was not big enough.

Hey, I didn't mind the water from your flooded room dripping down onto my dining room table, but I drew the line at your water slide blocking the view from my balcony ;)

I think the auto-open doors was just a perk at one time. As we all know, DVC perks can disappear at any time...just like when Mickey and Minnie would do in-room babysitting for DVC members, but now it's gone. My kids really miss that!

;)

Yes, it is true! The automatic doors at the resorts are no longer a DVC-exclusive perk. I stood outside the Wildernesss Lodge for 5 minutes and saw all kinds of riff raff using the doors. I know they weren't DVC members because they weren't wearing the lime green mickey-ear paint chips from Home Depot.

And where are the jetpacks? I thought all DVC members were given jetpacks to help them "Tinkerbell" around the parks?!? How can I feel like Tink if I cannot fly like Tink??

Not specifically no, as that is against forum rules, but what was the premise of this thread.

Has to be recent complaint threads.

For there to be Satire there has to be an underlying premise that is being made fun of.

Just saying.

Lightening up the board is FUN and creates community. No need to wet blanket things.

This was a good funny read thread for a morning when I had little else to laugh at! Thanks all!:thumbsup2

I just love staying at the Boardwalk Villas.

The complimentary surrey bikes, sea raycers, and pontoon boats are fabulous.

I particularly like the one that goes into Epcot with free dinner and dessert. However, that can be quite the hassle. There always seems to be 10 or 12 people yelling and screaming at me whenever I stroll onto this cruise. I just wave as I see them on the dock with their banners and birthday cakes. What's the big deal?

Well, we are staying at BWV and I demanded that we be able to use the pool at stormalong bay because my child is afraid of the clown. They rudely told me that is not possible. Does anyone have an e-mail or phone number of someone in charge. I paid enough for my DVC and should be able to use any pool I want!!!

Well, you must not have complained to the right person. After our stay at BWV I wrote a letter to DVC Member Satisfaction and they paid for my son to go to counseling for the scary clown problem. We are all good now. His twitch is almost gone. ;)

We very rarely do laundry - too busy filling our year of a million dreams mugs with Beverley at EPCOT (our whole family loves it). The only thing we find we need is more towels as I'm sure Mouskeeping don't come into our villa every day... what's up with that?? No worries though, we just grab a few handfuls from the pool we're visiting that day (normally SAB if we can hurdle over the gate to sit and drink our Beverleys). Of course we always leave our used ones - we wouldn't want them to think they were a few towels short ;)

I was sent a bottle of champagne after my wife and I got married. It was waiting in our room at the Grand Floridian that was a free upgrade to a Park view instead of parking lot view.

After all this, these "cast members" couldn't even send someone up to open the bottle for us, we had to open it ourselves!!!!

Infuriated...........

As I understand it in the contract, since you own it you can paint it. And I quote: Article 4, Section 3: Pertaining to changes within each unit: "All owners may make necessary changes to the decor of each unit as they see fit including but not limited to: painting, flooring, electrical, and demolition of walls to create a more spacious environment for the enjoyment of the owners."

Go ahead and open up that standard view wall and make it a pool view!

Don't you guys think a rich burgandy wall would really warm up the BWVs?You're going to paint the wall yourself? I thought the maids were supposed to take care of that before we check in. Your rooms haven't been customized to your individual taste in the past? Wow, you need to get an email off to member satisfaction ASAP. There must have been a glitch when your guide input your personal preference questionnaire into the system.

This happened to us, once, too. It resulted in our Princess Anne canopy bed being mistakenly set up in the second bedroom instead of the master bedroom. It ruined our entire vacation.

It's important to make sure this preferences profile is up to date because it's also used with the DVC-eHarmony interface they use to make sure only compatible families are put in the rooms on either side of yours.

They don't let you do that? You need to speak to your guide.

By owning 25 points, you get to stay in as large of a villa as you want whenever you want, for however long you want, with whatever furnishings you choose.

We can probably get away with painting and knocking down walls. Considering the excellent job:rotfl2: that mousekeeping does, they probably won't notice til we have 50-75% of the whole resort 'renovated'.

I get daily grill prep service at BLT.

I put my grill on the balcony, and by evening Disney will load it up with some fresh foul and free kindling. I just start the grill and get a tasty meal, no walking to Cali grill!
