I can't decide whether I like them or loathe them, should plant them or pass them by......well, at least for this year! :)
Does anyone have any ornamental kale or cabbage growing in their garden? Are you happy with it's display?

Kim :)
I have one of each. I did not plant them. They are in pots. I display them with mums also in pots and pumpkins going up the front steps.
I tier them in a diamond shape coming down the steps. Top landing 1 large maroon with yellow center mum, 1st step mum and a pumpkin, 2nd step mum and cabbage, 3rd step centered large kale.
When planted alone I do not find them attractive (they need lots of help) but when displayed with other plants they actually look quite nice.
I sometimes tip a large basket over on it's side, put a cabbage in it add a few gourds and a pumpkin. Some cornstalks on the side with a bow. It makes a nice fall display.

I've never cared for ornamental kale so I don't plant it.

You know Mamu, I'm thinking that you could make a nice income as a Seasonal Exterior Designer ! :) Everything you do sounds like it would look great! :)
Thanks Kim for the compliment. I think most of the things I do are trial and error, with error coming in first.
Isn't that the nicest part of gardening, if you don't like it, move it. Not the same with the interior. If you don't like it, you may be stuck with it for a while.
I am forever moving things outdoors. I usually give something 2 years. If after 2 years I dislike how the plant is growing or dislike the arrangement of the plants. I move them or discard them.
