Good morning!

Yes, I finally started my trip report. I am all moved in.... except I am still waiting on my oven and couch. But that's a long story fit for another trip report I guess. I will start work in the 24th. A very exciting new adventure.

For those who don't know me, here's a little introduction.

I am Christy... how do you do? I am 28 years old. I am an art education specialist. I've been teaching since 2006. And since there are not as many jobs in arts education, well I am now doing my second B.A in religion, and teaching Ethics and world religions in high school. I always taught high school as elementary school is not really my thing.

My parents brought me to Walt Disney World for the first time when I was 2 years old, and as you can see by the dates in my signature, that was a big mistake. It sparked something in me, and I have been a Disney fanatic ever since. It's not just the characters, it's Walt. He is such an inspiration and I am a nut for Disney history. I purchase every book that I can lay my hands on. Let's go back in time, and see this evolution. Won't you follow me?

(The dates may not be accurate as when we get older, we hope that we don't change that much from year to the next, right? hehe)

1985

1987

1991

http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a304/PopArtGal/cri-1991.jpg
(I can remember that Minnie was "hurting" me. Her head was hard and she was pushing down on me hehe)

2000

(oh the bad teenage years lol)

2004

(Mom, I only wish we could come back every year. Yep, that's what I told my mom)

And the rest is history. Here are some of my faves

July 19, 2011

The day started up pretty early. But who cares?! I'm going to Walt Disney World! I set my alarm for 3:30am. And I'm pretty sure I was awake maybe 10 minutes beforehand. I showered and got ready.

We were ready and heading out the door at 5am. We were a bit surprised at how much traffic there was. But we remembered that we normally left on a Sunday, and we were now leaving during the week.

We got to the airport in good time, and we got in line for the Air Canada counter. Boy was the line ever sooooooooooo long. I had already printed my boarding passes. So I asked the lady if that's where I was to go and she said yes. Yep, everyone who had and had not printed their boarding passes were in the same line. So what's the point in printing them before?

We managed to finally check our bags and went through security fairly quickly. At Customs we got "Miss Congeniality". She barely talked and was so severe looking. I was worried she would get us stopped or something. The look she gave us was so rude.

By the time we did all that, we only had 1 hour left to wait before we could board. I got my mom something to drink, and got myself a bottle of water. I must have a bottle of water when I board a plane. It's a neccessity for me hehe I walked around the airport a bit and got myself some Starbucks. Yep, I am obsessed with Starbucks. Then I sat down a bit. Before long, we were seated in the plane, and ready for take-off.

That's so odd about the airport. You would think since you already have your boarding passes printed ahead of time, you would be able to wait in a separate line.

Last year when we flew Southwest, we did curb-side luggage drop off since my dad dropped us off at the airport & I already had our boarding passes printed out. It was wonderful because we just walked into the airport empty handed (except for our small carry-on & pushing Luke in the stroller -- LOL!) and we went straight to security. After that, we found our gate & just waited until it was time to board the plane. It went so quickly. Now the year before when we flew AirTran, it was a nightmare -- it took forever to get from place to place at the airport but that was before I knew about curb-side luggage and printing the passes ahead of time. I'm hoping things go smoothly in September. The airport is always the part I dread the most.

I'm like you, I don't care how early I have to get up as long as I'm on my way to Disney!!! I usually don't sleep that night anyway. I'm always too excited to sleep!

Can't wait to see pics of the Contemp!!! :thumbsup2

I know, how weird. And then I printed my passes at the hotel (went we were going home) and the lady at the counter tore them up, and printed new ones. But if I hadn't printed them, I'm sure they would have been pissed, like they were 2 years ago. I so don't understand airports.

July 19, 2011 (continued)

The flight boarded on time. We were in a row of 3, and I was by the window. At first, we had a teenager near the isle, but he switched with an Asian business man who slept most of the flight. The flight was alright. We did hit some "air pockets" thought which had me uncomfortable for part of the way. I worked a bit on some things for work, and then I tried to watch some tv. Seeing I was not going to be able to concentrate I decided to read some magazines.

After we landed, we decided to take it easy and take our time to get to the DME desk. We grabbed something to drink and strolled over to the DME line. We were lucky to get into a bus that was quickly filling up.

We stopped at Carribean Beach, Pop Century, and finally Animal Kingdom Lodge.

If you have read my PTR, you know all about the confusion with the Disney package. Well I told the guy about it, he went in the back and there it was. SO weird. More on that later.

Our room was located on the second floor. It was sooooooooooooo far. And to our surprise, there were barely any animals out.

We were hungry and decided to explore. We walked around a bit. And after getting lost a few times, we finally found the pool. Here are some pics that were taken.

Great Start! I don't ever really understand why they put people with and without boarding passes in the same line. I'm not sure if it's the same process or anything, but as you said it totally makes the point of printing out the boarding pass just useless. :sad2: But you got through it and were off to Disney, always a plus :thumbsup2

Oooo... the pool at Jambo House looks really cool. I've only stayed at Kidani and have never set foot in Jambo, so that's cool to see. And thumbs-up to the Zebra Domes, really need to try those, heard LOTS of good things about them. :)

After that, we tried to get back to our room. It was not as easy as we expected. The resort was confusing to us.

We finally got back to our room and rested.

Some people will hate me for saying this, but we were already regretting our resort choice. This resort was "us".

We called to see if there was available rooms at the Contemporary, but they didn't have anything in our usual section. They only had club level rooms.

We decided to go to Downtown Disney. And while we were there, we discussed the situation. After a bit, we called back the resort and made a switch. We were going to stay at the Contemporary.

We got back to the resort and talked to people at the front desk. We were told to get our luggage and come back.

We did so, and Disney ended up paying for our taxi.

We were well received at the Contemporary as usual. We were home.

We got room 4801. We were right on top of Chef Mickey, on the Bay Lake side.

We unpacked, showered and watched the electrical water pageant.

It had been an exhausting day. And at 11 I decided to call it a night.

Wednesday July 20

It was an early morning, as it usually is on the first day. Your body seems to remember you getting up way too early the day before and imagines you want to do so.

On that morning, we were supposed to have breakfast at Tusker House, but since we were no longer that close to Animal Kingdom, we had decided to cancel the day before.

So on that morning, I got ready and decided to make it to rope drop at the Magic Kingdom. It had been decided that my mom would take her time and join me later.

It was a hot day already as I walked to the Magic Kingdom. My home.

I soon was inside the gates and was waiting for the park to open. Let me tell you. I love love love that show. I think I was more excited about the show, and to see which characters would be there, than to get inside the park.

As per custom, a few families asked me to take their pictures. Wether I'm alone or with people, it always happens to me. I must look trustworthy. People even got me to take their pictures with their brand new iphones in New York's Times Squares. So I did that for a while, and before long, the mayor was welcoming us.

http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a304/PopArtGal/DSC00394.jpg

He even got a few of his friends (villagers or whatever hehe) to come too. And look, they are even dancing for us. What a great bunch of people. I might just move here. But only if I can wear flip flops in the summer and not closed shoes.

I don't hate you for saying that!!! And I'm sure everyone else can understand as well! After all, just think -- if we all had the same favorite resort or the same tastes, then we'd ALL be crammed into the SAME resort!!! :lmao:

Just think of how crowded that would be!!!

That's what I always tell my husband when he's arguing with someone over a difference in opinion! I would never want anyone else to love ALL the same things I love -- wouldn't that world be a boring place?! ;)

And while I did love staying at AKL, I have loved all of the other resorts I've stayed at on property! Our goal is to try at least 5 of them before repeating or staying off-property.

I totally respect people who want to stay at their "Home Resort" -- I think you made a really great decision!!! :thumbsup2

I learned something new tonight because I didn't know they had a walkway from the Contemp to MK -- but it totally makes sense that they would! I should've known that!

I love the song too. I have it somewhere on a cd. I have to put it back on my ipod.

:thumbsup2

I LOOOOOOOOVE all of the pictures you got from your view at the Contemporary!!!! I cannot wait to see more resort pictures!!!!

I also enjoyed seeing your walk over to the Magic Kingdom! I have always seen a bunch of people walking from that direction while we were unboarding the bus -- but I had no idea where they were coming from! Thanks for sharing that info! I learned something new tonight because I didn't know they had a walkway from the Contemp to MK -- but it totally makes sense that they would! I should've known that!

I'm always so far behind on DIS -- you'll have to remind me when you post updates! :thumbsup2

I just updated yesterday. You're not far behind ;)

Yep, I love the walk from the CR to MK. Although in the heat it can be really grueling. So we do take the monorail from time to time to go back. It's convenient since when you take the resort monorail from MK, it's the first stop.

So after taken a bunch of picture of my "Mick", I went inside.

When I am alone, I love to wander around and snap pics. I just breathe in and feel happy. I also love to feel the excitement of the people walking in for the first time. Who doesn't love their first sight of the castle.

I started snapping away and walked down main street. The shops would have to wait later. I'd shop when my mom would get here.

My first destination is always adventureland.

As I was crossing the bridge near the Crystal Palace (the one that goes from there to the crossroad between Adventureland and Liberty Square) I saw this

http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a304/PopArtGal/DSC00436.jpg

http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a304/PopArtGal/DSC00437.jpg

The bird of paradise as a very special meaning to me. It was my grandma's (my mother's mother) favorite flower. It felt special to see it there. I felt that my grandmother was part of the Magic Kingdom. I know she's always with us when we travel since she loved traveling and WDW. It just made it "official".

So after this lovely moment, I made my way to Pirates of the Carribean.

I came to the conclusion that it was still boring (to me) and that is desperately needed refurb. For example, the bedspread in the parents' house was disgusting. It was sooooooo dirty.

I know what you mean. I walk through it everytime hoping I'll like it more, but it's a bit boring. Although I'm not sure how they could really update it since the treehouse is based on what was built in the movies. I think a general cleaning would be nice though.

I then resumed my walk to me destination. I saw this on my way.

They still have the original version in Disneyland. I did a tour out there and the tour guide showed us some of the original hand painted flowers. It was really neat to see the original.

I know WDW was seriously discussing retiring the Tiki Room in its entirety, but decided to reinvent it because it was Walt's favorite attraction. I'm not sure if Walt would approve of the new version, but I also don't think he would approve of keeping an out-dated attraction. What a conundrum!

The morning show at MK looks like fun! I've still never managed to see it. Maybe that's a good reason to stay at the Contemporary. :rotfl:

I always sort of like looking at the Swiss Family Treehouse, but I have a hard time justifying the extra walking required. I know my feet will be tired by the end of the day and it seems like too many steps for something that's just okay.

I thought your Pirate pictures turned out pretty good. It's hard to get good shots in there!

I finally met up with my mom at the Crystal Palace. It was going to be our first time there, and we had heard good reviews... especially of the puffed french toast.

I checked us in and we barely waited 5 minutes.

We were called and escorted to our table by a very nice server. He was friendly and I did find that he totally fit in the "Pooh world". We were seated in the middle and the characters were already making their rounds.

We gave our drink order and the characters came in almost as soon as we were done. I think Winnie was even waiting for the server to be done since I can remember her saying:" Well I'll let you hang out with Pooh".

To give you an idea of where we were sitting, here's a picture. We were seated right under the banner.

http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a304/PopArtGal/DSC00527.jpg

The first character that came up was Pooh.

http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a304/PopArtGal/DSC00524.jpg

And then Tigger came by and played with my hair a little bit. I don't exactly remember if he played with my hair or if he brushed my hair with his paw. Sadly, that night I noticed that the picture had not worked. Oh well.

Then came my fave..... Eeyore!

http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a304/PopArtGal/DSC00525.jpg

And finally Piglet was there.

http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a304/PopArtGal/DSC00526.jpg

The food was very good. And we ate rather quickly, or lightly according to the server. I know that I did have a few pieces of puffed french toast since I loved it. It reminded me of donuts we used to get at a place in town. Yummy!

Needless to say, it's already on our list for our next future trip. Yes, we liked it that much! hehe

Yum!

After that, we walked around a bit and stumbled into my favorite guys. I just love them so much! It makes me happy to see them. If I worked at the MK, I'd want to be one of these girls!

When I left off, we were going back to the hotel. My plan was to nap before the meet. However, I had no time to do that. So I decided to go take a quick swim as it was really hot. When I came back to the hotel, I realized that I had to leave right away for the meeting, or I would be late.

I went to wait on the monorail which took a while to get there. I switched monorails at the TTA and once again waited and waited. Time was ticking away. Then, the monorail arrived with.... a driver who was in training. We started towars Epcot and then stopped..... We had to go back to the station and then go back towards Epcot. Yep, I was going to be late. When I got to Future World, I was already 10 minutes late. I HATE it! I am never late! I was afraid that everyone would have left.

Luckily, when I got to the UK, our meeting place, everyone was still there. And waiting on me. I was so embarrassed.

We talked, exchanged gifts and started to look for a photopass photographer. Yep, can't find one when you really need one.

We finally did, and here we are.

It was fun. We had a blast talking. I felt so lucky to know these ladies. It was like hanging out with friends.

I went away with great gifts too. Here they are.

I remember that I stayed with the ladies a while. My mom called to see if I was planning on ever going back to the hotel hehe

When I did go back, we relaxed in the room. I might even have taken another dip in the pool, and gone to the gym.

It had been a great day ;)

I'll seriously think about it. But since Tom and I first started going to WDW together, I've wanted to go end of August and it just hasn't worked out once in the past 6 years!! Finally we were able to start our APs in September so this is finally the chance to go at that time. We'll see though.....

I'm finally all caught up! ;)

You got some really great pics of the Swiss Family Treehouse. I know a lot of people think it's super boring -- and its definitely in need of a refurb -- but we really enjoy it. I think it just has special meaning since on Luke's first 2 trips to Disney, he really loved it & talked about it afterward. He remembers his dad carrying him around in the treehouse! So like I said, its more of a sentimental thing. It was closed on our September trip so I'm anxious to see what all they've "fixed" -- I'm really hoping they made a lot of changes during the refurb.

You won't believe this but we sat at the SAME table as you & your mom at Crystal Palace!!!! :thumbsup2

I wish we would've gone for breakfast instead of lunch. The lunch buffet at CP isn't that great. It's ok -- but normally I love all buffets & I just didn't feel that there were many options. Luke loved the mac & cheese but that's basically all he ate besides rolls!

Thanks for sharing pics of your DIS meet! Nice to see some PA merchandise there! I'm assuming it was from Wendy! :thumbsup2

Can't wait to hear more about your trip! I loved all of your castle pics!!!

The QPAT-APEQ is the Quebec Provinicial association fo teachers and there is a convention at Centre Bonaventure around the same dates as yours. I think it's mostly known in the English school boards? I've never heard of AQESAP, and even a search on the internet didn't lead me to anything?

Today was going to be a relaxing day. We were going to Downtown Disney. I don't have any pictures from that day. Once again, it was a sunny day, and it was really hot. As usual, we started with the Marketplace. Actually, we didn't go to any other section that day. I started with the Art store and the memories store. They are my must-dos in DD. I was very sad when they decided to take a section of the memories store for the Hanes store. I have yet to buy a t-shirt from there. Maybe I will if we do end up doing a Christmas trip. Anywayz, I don't remember buying anything in the memories store or the art store. I may have seen a few things that I wanted to get later on. We then walked to Pantry and looked at their recipe book selection. They use to have a lot of Rachel Ray books (I LOVE Rachel Ray), but they don't really anymore. I don't remember buying anything there either. We then walked to the World of Disney, and as usual, that is where we bought most of the things we wanted. We normally go there at least twice during our trips. I don't remember everything we bought, but I do remember that my mom and I bought gifts for my friend Hope, and for her new little boy. We got all of our gifts shipped to the resort, and decided to go try Pollo Campero. I had a chicken sandwich while my mom had a salad. I also remember getting a vegan cupcake. I really liked my meal. My mom says hers was ok. I would definitetly go there again. The place was packed though, but we did end up finding a spot that was somewhat quiet. After that, we walked back towards the Disney store and went to Trendy. We tried on a few things, and I bought a shirt. Then my mom went for a smoking break and I visited Once Upon a toy and the Pin store. It was now late afternoon, and we decided to make our way out of the store. But before we did, we had to stop at the Christmas store. Christmas is our very favorite holiday. We love it and love decorating for it. So we love to get our holiday fix. Around dinner time, we made our way back to the hotel. We chilled around the hotel, got something to eat at the Contempo Cafe, and watched the Electrical Water Pageant. It seemed to have been a quiet day, but I don't really remember having a quiet day during that holiday. It is only an illusion hehe

July 22

This day we decided to go see our good neighboors of Main Street USA. After all, it is our favorite street in the whole world. This summer it seems they decided to add a parade to the schedule. There was one around noon, and one at 3pm. And some characters were in the noon parade that were not in the 3pm one. Did anyone else see that? For example, I saw Bert in the noon parade, but not in the 3pm parade. Anywayz, as we walked in the park, the first parade was going on. Yes, we were having a lazy morning. We left the hotel rather late. hehehe

We had a "conversation" about how the queen on my t-shirt was not her, and we also liked her. But the queen in front of me was the number 1 queen. She then gave me a quick embrace and moved on. We keep saying how we wish we could be going back to the Contemporary this year. But my mom and I have been spoiled, and we are trying to realize that if we want to go back for Christmas too, then we have to go to POR. So we are trying to get that into our minds. But we have been spoiled with the proximity of the Magic Kingdom, our favorite park of all.

Thank you. I love taking pictures. I need to find a lot of cheap frames (that look good) to put them around my appartment, to help me feel the wdw spirit when I'm not feeling so good ;)

Thank you for joining in!

Hey everyone.

Just wanted to let you all know I'm still alive.

The workshop went well. The first one was not the best. But I have to keep reminding myself that I had never given a workshop to a group of teachers. And teachers are sometimes the worst students. That first group ended up being a bit impatient and rude. I was really sad that first night. I thought it was a complete failure. Then, on saturday, I gave my second worshop and it was awesome. I had fun and the teachers were great.

But I am definetly tired right now. I may have burnt the candle at both ends a bit. I need to rest. At least there's 18 days until Christmas vacations hehe

Also, I've been harassed by phone by this number: 1-866-912- 9285. They say I signed up somewhere for a free 1 day ticket to Universal Studios. Which I never did. Told them 3 times that I didn't want it and to stop calling me. Well they are still calling. I don't answer anymore. I've seen reports online of other people having the same problem. It's annoying, but thank goodness for caller id.

I will try to update soon. Although I have a busy schedule. Other than work I am going to try Gordon Ramsay's restaurant in Montreal on December 6, on December 9 I have a dinner with my old colleagues, and on December 16 its the teachers Christmas party. I also have an exam on December 10, and a take-home exam to bring back for December 19. I also want to go to the huge crafts fair in Montreal and decorate for Christmas and do my Christmas shopping.

At least, I know I'll get to Christmas at the same time as everyone.

I hope you are doing well!

See ya real soon!

Thanks. I love that parade. I'm a bit sad though that the second Tiana pack didn't really turn out. It would have been awesome. I love her. She's a cute girl.

Yes, some people are just plain rude and are kind of wanting to prove themselves. Like: "Oh I can do that better than her" you know. But my point wasn't to prove I was any better than anyone. It was just to show a technique.

Plus I was sent e-mail by a lot of the participants thanking me. And one even said she'd like a sequel to it. Like now that you learned this technique, let me help you create a work of art with it. I'll think about it.

It's something I always thought sounded nice in theory, but in reality I'm not sure I'd eat enough of the desserts to really warrant the price. And since neither DH nor his daughter are big on sweets, it would probably not be worth it for us. However, if I had a larger appetite, I would love to do it! Not sure how much help I was right here. :rotfl2:

We LOVE this. It is expensive, but it's a nice, relaxing treat! It's really nice to have a reserved seat for the fireworks and not have to be concerned with holding one on the sidewalk. It's a decent view, not the best, but not bad. The chocolate covered strawberries are amazing.

Sadly, I didn't go have dinner with my "ex" colleagues on Friday. I have been doing way too much and my body is starting to tell me. I haven't been feeling really good for the past week. So I slept a lot on Friday. And I had to go to Montreal to pass an exam at the University, and when I came home I went back to bed. So I had to skip it. Even though a few of my friends texted me, messaged me to say they had missed me. And I did to. But there was no way I could get there. Oh well. Another time.

Once the parade was over, I decided that I was going to walk a bit. I think I seperated from my mom for a bit. She might have gone shopping while I walked around. Or she may have gone back to the hotel. At this point, I'm not quite sure.

Anywayz, I decided to catch up with Captain Jack. He was "ok" looking. Let's just say he photographed better. He might have had a bit too much rum the day before as he did not look quite as handsome as during past trips.

I had no schedule and decided that I didn't want to leave the park yet.

So off I went to check out one of my fave attractions:

And boy did I love the new hitchiking ghosts!! The new effects are SO cool! I rode twice (once alone, and once with my mom) and got 2 different effects.

As I walked out, I tried to find the ring they put. You know how before it was just a circle left from a pole and people kept saying it was a ring. Well I was sure I had seen a picture that they had put a real ring. But I couldn't find it.

That will be really nice if you can do Christmas! We will have to catch up in summer of 2013 - and maybe Nikki can join us.

Maybe Hope too!!!! :rolleyes1

Not 100% sure on anything as of yet, but right now we're debating between October and summer of 2013...so you never know! I would absolutely LOVE to join one of your awesome DIS meets!!!

July 21, 2011I don't remember everything we bought, but I do remember that my mom and I bought gifts for my friend Hope, and for her new little boy.

It seemed to have been a quiet day, but I don't really remember having a quiet day during that holiday. It is only an illusion hehe[/COLOR]

THANK YOU so much again for everything!!! You & your mom are awesome!!! :thumbsup2

When I saw that you liked Pollo Campero, I said "EWWW!!!" to myself! :lmao:

I'm not sure if we've talked about it already or not, but we tried it on our DTD day because EoS was PACKED! We didn't have a good experience. I wasn't thrilled with my cupcake -- but the icing was super good! My DH and I both got the chicken sandwich and I think we got some type of chicken nuggets or grilled chicken for Luke. I'm not sure, I'd have to check my notes! All I remember is that I ate my sandwich because I was literally starving but wouldn't eat it had I not been pregnant & starving. I just didn't like the dressing. I should've asked ahead of time what came on the sandwich. If they would've put lettuce and mayo, I would've been fine with it

I completely know what you mean about thinking you had a quiet day, but you really didn't! I felt like that a lot after coming home from our trip!!! I read over my notes & it doesn't seem like we did much, but I felt rushed the entire trip. Next time, we're going to have some more down-time and pool time!!!

We are thinking of the wishes dessert party for our July trip. Thoughts??

YES!!!! Do it, do it, do it!!! Now I know we've talked about this! And you know I highly recommend it! :goodvibes

The night we went to MK, it was PACKED! You seriously couldn't walk without tripping over someone or saying "oops, I'm sorry" a thousand times because you stepped on someone's foot or ran into them with the stroller! It was so nice to be able to sit on the Tomorrowland Terrace and enjoy dessert, the MSEP, the new Memories Castle Show, and then Wishes!!! I found it to be very peaceful. No, it's not the best place in the world to see the parade or take pics, but we loved it!!!

The food at the Wishes Dessert Party is amazing!!! And Brook is completely right -- the strawberries are DELICIOUS!!! I text both her and Stephanie and told them I ate at least 6 for each of them! :lmao:

They have a good variety of desserts and you can also get ice cream and drinks (lemonade, tea, water, and maybe one type of pop). I ate so many plates of desserts, I had no room for ice cream! And you know I'm obsessed with ice cream, so that's how good the desserts were!!!

Anywayz, I decided to catch up with Captain Jack. He was "ok" looking. Let's just say he photographed better. He might have had a bit too much rum the day before as he did not look quite as handsome as during past trips.

It would be SO much better if they just had Johnny Depp there!

The holiday season must be busy for everyone as no one seems to have seen my latest update hehe

I saw it!!! I just haven't written a reply! It's been so late at night when I've been DIS-ing (or too early in the morning??) Usually I DIS between 3-5am so I don't reply thinking I will probably either ramble or say something completely stupid! :sad2:

I'm planning to catch up sometime next week. Hopefully things will calm down here after the holidays.

Well guys. I finally figured why I had walked to Main Street and back to Frontierland. It was because I had a Fastpass to see Mickey!

Unfortunatly, I don't have my Photopass cd with me. It will have to wait a few days.

But let's keep going.

After the Haunted Mansion, I decided to go and watch the castle show. Yes, even though I've seen it about a dozen times, I still love it. But it doesn't mean I would mind if they came up with a new one. It may be time for a change.

On my way I took a pic of a quick service that I love. Well not the food (it's ok you know) but I love the seating area since it's quiet and dark.

July 23 2011

Today was going to be a Epcot day.

We started with a lazy morning. I went to the lounge to grab breakfast and sat there a bit. I liked the lounge. And I noticed how some people have no class. And I may have nice manners... and maybe too much? hehe I feel bad leaving my dishes on the table when I'm finish. I feel like I need to bring it somewhere, you know.

We took the monorail over to Epcot, and our first stop was Spaceship earth. We had fun as usual and laughed at our picture. Which I won't show since my mom wouldn't really enjoy that hehe.

We then made our way to Worldshowcase since we had a lunch ADR.

And that is when we had our first glimpse at the Duffy madness. True, we had seen Duffy during our March trip... but it seems he was not as present. But I might be mistaking.

Hey guys. I've got news.

There are some changes to our July trip.

First of all.... my dad is coming with us. He change his mind. And luckily since the plane has rows of 3 seats, the seat next to us was not taken yet.

Second of all.... we switched resort. We are going back to the Contemporary and my dad decided that he'd only do it if we did Concierge... so that's what we are doing.

Our ADR date is coming soon too: Jan 17.

So I'm getting more and more excited!

Before I updated my TR I wanted to share pics of Timon with you. I dowloaded the "memories" iphone app and had a little bit of fun with Timon who was interested in posing for once lol

We started wondering the World Showcase and had fun browsing shops and just enjoying the environment.

We had a ressie at Via Napoli for lunch. If I'm not mistaking, it was at 11am

http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a304/PopArtGal/DSC00760.jpg

I went in to check-in and there was a bit of a wait as we were the first seating. The restaurant was not opened yet.

We were sort of the first people there, but the lobby quickly filled up.

We were seated in another room where the ovens are not. It was nice in a way since they were spreading out the families. I've been to restaurant who fill one section at a time. But since we were spread out, it was nice not having to bump elbows with poeple.

Our server was nice and when he noticed I spoke French he thought I was from France. He did know a bit of French.... but I could not understand him...sorry Nicola.

(My mom just remembered his name)

He was very nice but came a bit too often to the table, for our taste.

My mom ordered the cheese pizza, and I ordered the spaghetti with veal meatballs. And wow! The plates are big. And the individual pizza is a medium (for me). I loved my spaghetti. The meatballs were amazing. And I did taste the pizza and it was wonderful. For dessert, I had a cappucino and we both had Tiramisu. Let's just say that since we had the dining plan, I did over indulge in dessert since it was free. I normally would not have eaten that much dessert.

And I take a vow now, that starting next trip, I will take pics of our plates!

All in all....... we are in LOVE with Via Napoli!

It was the first restaurant name that was said when a list was typed up of the restaurants we will be going at during our next trip.

Oh and by the way, now that we are in 2012 I can say: We are going to WDW this year! hehe

After that lunch, we pretty much rolled out of there. We decided to walk off the meal a bit. But we were getting hot and were thinking about going back to Future World. On our way out of the World Showcase, I came across the Mexico restaurant. And I remember how much my friend Nikki loved the margaritas. So I decided to try one.

First of all, I am not a drinker. I drink white wine sometimes, but that's basically it. And after 2 glasses I've had enough.

http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a304/PopArtGal/DSC00761.jpg

And boy these babies are STRONG! Don't get me wrong. They are goooooooood. But there is a lot of alcohol in there. My mom even took a sip and she drinks even less than I do. She said she could get drunk from the smell lol

I drank about 1 quarter of it and had to stop. I was tipsy and knew that if I drank more I'd have a huge headache, or worse, a migraine.

But while I was drinking that margarita I took a break and decided to go see Duffy. You can see by the smile I have how much fun I was having.... or was it the alcohol? hehehe

Anywayz. I approached Duffy and he noticed me "villains" t-shirt and got scared.

Which for some reason I thought was hilarious. See I told you I was getting drunk lol

http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a304/PopArtGal/Photo0150FourBySix.jpg

Then I told him I've save him from them. And all was good in the world again.

http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a304/PopArtGal/Photo0152FourBySix.jpg

After that, we wandered into Future World. After some shopping, we went back to the hotel for the rest of the day. I may have gone to see Captain EO again. I wouldn't be surprised if I did since I'm in love with MJ :)

All in all, it was a good day. Like every Epcot day.

The Disney cat pictures are so cute and funny! :cutie:

Via Napoli is so Yummy! I can't wait to eat one of their pizzas again. As much as I want to try new restaurants, I must return to Via Napoli.

I agree that those margaritas are strong. I was only able to take a few sips before having to throw it out. Even DH could not drink it!

Next trip, you should def try the alcoholic slushies in Morocco. They are sort of on the strong side, but def good!!! (But don't forget, I almost got drunk off the smell of my husband's -- so make sure you eat something before drinking it so you don't get drunk! LOL)

I've heard the Grey Goose Slushies are good too, but I'm not sure which park they're sold at ??

I love your pictures with Duffy!!! The middle one is the best! :thumbsup2

I'm so sad that we missed him -- I did see the line for him once but we were in a hurry, I think on our way to an ADR or tour, so we skipped it and then I never saw him out at Epcot again :confused3

If you want a picture of your Via Napoli meal to share with your readers, you can borrow mine! ;) After all, it's the least I can do for you after I got the veal at YOUR recommendation!!!! THANKS again!!! It was soooo delish!!!

I just have to make a note. I was looking at my schedule and it looks like we went to Via Napoli on the 26. But that's not how it appears in my pictures. And it's while ago, so I don't really remember. OH well. I'll take better notes during this trip.

July 24

That day meant we were going back to the Magic Kingdom. We had a ressie at "The Plaza". The food is not spectacular but we love it. It is sort of a tradition.

I love the Magic Kingdom, and when staying at the CR it is so convenient to go there that it is the park we attend the most. We even skipped 2 parks during this trip in order to spend more time at the MK.

Our first stop was It's a small world. We had not been on it yet, and we had promised my dad we would for him. I tried to take pictures. But without the flash on, they did not work out that well.

My mom doesn't really like that ride, while I kinda love it lol

My favorite dolls:
http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a304/PopArtGal/DSC00806.jpg

I don't have a note for the rest of the day. My guess is that we just enjoyed the scenery and shopped. Well I KNOW that we shopped lol. I also remember our meal was ok. Not as good as usual. We have no idea why. But we'll give it another try as we have a reservation for on July trip.

ok well I really did not take notes during this trip and it seems I got confused somewhere. I kinda of scribbled things all over my schedule and an not completely sure of everything we did. And it seems that there are days where I barely took pics. Shocking, I know. I think that there are days where I just took everything in without looking behind my camera.

So just to help you (and me) a little, here is the schedule I am sure of.

July 19: This was our arrival day. We got to the Animal Kingdom Lodge. Tried to enjoy the surroundings. Went to Downtown Disney, and decided we did not want to stay there. Made a few calls. Got everything cleared up. Went back to Animal Kingdom Lodge, and then took a taxi to the Contemporary.

July 20: We went to the Magic Kingdom. I'm almost positive that is when we ate breakfast at Crystal Palace. That afternoon I went to Epcot for the dismeet.

July 21: Downtown Disney

July 22: Magic Kingdom

July 23: Epcot

July 24: Magic Kingdom. We had an ADR at The Plaza.

July 25: Downtown Disney

July 26: Epcot. We had an ADR at Via Napoli.

July 27: Epcot.

July 28: Magic Kindgom. We had an ADR at Tony's.

July 29: We had to go home :(

Hey guys. I have another little trip planned. Well not in WDW but in Burlington Vermont. A lot of my colleagus go there on shopping trips, and that is exactly what I'll be doing. There are a lot of stores and restaurants we don't have in Canada. It'll be a fun trip with a girl friend I have known since high school. We are leaving on March 2 around 1 pm since I'm off work at noon. And I'll go get her at the metro station (subway) and will drive to Burlington. It's a 2 hours drive. The time to get there depends on the time it takes us to cross the border and go through customs. We'll be staying in Burlington for 2 nights.

I am not sure if you want me to share more details as this is not a WDW trip.

Let me know.

Here are a few pictures I took in MK. I took some pics of the ducks because well what is a trip to the MK without seeing ducks. And you can kind of see the tracks that are still under water. I'd love for the boat ride to come back. That area is so pretty. I'm sure there's a way for them to revamp it.

Final note: My next trip is 136 days away and it's torture. I can't believe it's this far away. I feel like a kid waiting for Christmas.

It was not our best trip, but as always, it was awesome. We have yet to surpass our December 2007 trip. But there are still a lot of trips in the future (I hope) so who knows.

Thank you for following along. And I promise I will take notes on my next trip and will do a better TR. I won't be doing a PTR as I have shared some details here. So I might continue to share here, if not msg me and I will let you know when I start it.

July will be here before you know it! Really enjoyed the TR - and especially the pictures at the end. Where did you find the frontier Donald?

He was near the water... humm in front of where the arcade used to be I think. In Frontierland.

Thanks for sharing your trip :goodvibes really enjoyed reading along!

Hope you're well and looking forward to your next trip.. my countdown is at 160 today :cutie:

Emma princess: x

Congrats on the weight loss! I've been working on it myself...down about 24 lbs so far! It's difficult but definitely doable! I swear if I can do it, anyone can do it! haha

I know how hard it is. I hate depriving myself sometimes but it does have its rewards. And I sometimes cheat so maybe that's why the weight is not coming off as fast lol

Congrats to both of you! I am battling the same thing. I tried Weight Watchers and lost nothing, plus was starving. I am now doing the 17 day diet - since Monday, and I am down 2 lbs :cool1:

I know - I must have been doing something wrong - DH is losing on WW. I felt very light headed at first and even though I got used to the hunger, I was not losing. I got frustrated, so I am trying this. I like it much better so far!
