Hello Everyone!!

Welcome to our Disney Trip Report from May 2011 - Two Girls in the World, With No Parents Allowed

Thanks for checking in. This trip was a celebration of mine and my sisters summer independence from our hectic school schedules, Danielleís 22nd Birthday, as well as being free from our parents since this was our.... (Drum roll please) VERY FIRST TRIP TO DISNEY ALONE WITHOUT PARENTAL SUPERVISON!! :yay: I know, exciting right. Anyway, to formerly introduce ourselves:

http://img33.imageshack.us/img33/8955/cimg3022t.jpg

My name is Lauren. I am a paramedic student from Windsor, for all of you that do not have a map handy that is just across the river from Detroit MI. For me this trip was a celebration of making it through my school year alive. For Danielleís birthday I surprised her with a no parents, sisters only trip alone to fabulous Disney world. We go to Disney every year usually around March break, but this would be our first adventure completely alone.

http://img64.imageshack.us/img64/4176/cimg2960o.jpg

Danielle is my sister. She was celebrating her coming of age at 22 this trip. I know she just looks like a little baby, but she is really getting old now, at least she thinks she is, but no matter how old, you can never be too old for Disney. She would like me to add that she is not the most photogenic person, but she has come to accept it and hopes you all will too.

We have been on the DIS board forever, looking at everyoneís advice and I just recently thought, gosh Lauren, you are so silly, why have you never made your own account, so I did.

We headed down to Disney from sunny hot Windsor Ontario May 16-20; WE WERE ON THE DINING PLAN. We always go on the dining plan because my parents like to have everything paid for before we go. That way, anything extra seems like nothing because the food is already paid for, I did the math and on DDP we usually break at just about even because I don`t really like meat and steer clear of red meat entirely. We stayed at the Pop Century in a preferred CAA (AAA in the USA) room, more about that later.

Hopefully everyone enjoys the trip; I will try and be as helpful as possible with answering questions. Let us know what you like and donít like. We look forward to hearing from all of you. Have fun reading along.... and awayyyyyyy we go!!:woohoo:

CHAPTER 2 Ė LEAVING ON A JET PLANE

We packed up and left sunny Windsor at a painful 6:30 in the morning. We have to leave extra early because crossing the border sometimes is tricky, you never know what kind of mood the customs officers are going to be in, however, we made it across without any problems and no hardly any line up at the bridge. Our Mom dropped us off at the Detroit Metro Airport and we said our goodbyes. Check-in was a breeze; we made it through security and decided it was time for breakfast. We got a sandwich from Gourmet PB&J, all I can saw was a lot of bread and very little anything else, I think next time I will stick with a scone from Starbucks.

http://img163.imageshack.us/img163/1614/dscf3241w.jpg

Once we boarded the plane we were on our way for a short 2 hr and 40 mins flight to ORLANDO FLORIDA. We were disappointed to find that when we landed it was colder in Florida than it was at home :confused3. We made our way to the Magical Express and were at the POP after a short stop at CBR to drop off half the bus.

http://img220.imageshack.us/img220/945/dscf3347qm.jpg

I had done the on-line check in ahead of time for we just walked right up grabbed our KTTW and went to unpack. I should add when we go to Disney we are light packers, we only pack what we can carry and everything else we buy, that way our luggage is never out of our sight. We donít want to sit around all day waiting for checked luggage.

http://img808.imageshack.us/img808/9345/cimg2879.jpg

We got settled, changed, cleaned the room like crazy people (we hate germs), and were on our way to the Magic Kingdom for the day.

http://img11.imageshack.us/img11/1330/cimg2882p.jpg

We got off the bus just before 3 oíclock, with reservations at 8:15 we had just enough time to have some fun before we had our dinner date, but we were starving. We made a decision to stop for a cinnamon bun at the Main St. Bakery, and let me tell you it was yummy, however, in hindsight we wish we would have actually gotten a sandwich as well because we had extra credits at the end and by 6:00 we were starving to death and wasting away to nothingness.

CHAPTER 3 Ė ITíS THE WILDEST RIDE!!

Annnnyway.... after our quick snack of delicious cinnamon bun, we made a beeline for Adventureland, we went to grab fast passes for the Jungle Cruise and GASP :scared1: Someone left one in the machine we looked around and there was no one at the machines, whoever had left this behind has obviously forgotten it, finders-keepers, so we only had to use one card to get one FP. We raced over to another FP for Splash Mountain and GASP :scared1: Someone left another FP in the machine, we were on a roll, we used our card again to get another FP and we were on our way.

http://img593.imageshack.us/img593/7856/cimg2884u.jpg

Since we had FP gold in our pockets we went over to the Haunted Mansion to wait for our FP to become active. We rode Mansion and still had time so we waited in line for TM. By now our FP were ready for Jungle Cruise so we walked back over to Adventureland.

http://img155.imageshack.us/img155/8546/cimg2885r.jpg

Is it just us our was that ride a lot more fun before? I know that they restrict what the CMís say now, but still I just didnít have as much fun as I did before. We got off Jungle Cruise and decided that we probably would not be back to Jungle Cruise for awhile, and that our time could be spent waiting in better lines.

Afterwards we headed back to SM to use our final FP for the night. We hate walking around the park all wet with soggy undergarments so we always save the best for last.

http://img846.imageshack.us/img846/8893/cimg2888.jpg

By now it was almost 6:00, and like I said, we were both starving to death. We decided to go hunt pennies (since I am an avid penny hunter) as we made our way to the gate for dinner. We found a few choice pennies then we left the park. Since we were still 2 hours early for dinner we made all the resort stops on the monorail and looked for pennies at the hotels too. We killed an hour and decided we couldnít last any longer, WE HAD TO EAT! So we went and begged for early check-in at Kona. They gave us a buzzer and we waited...

COMING UP NEXT KONA REIVEW... THIS TIME I PROMISE

Hi Lauren :wave2: I'm joining in! Loving the TR so far.

I would love to have a sisters trip one day but one trip at a time - am going for the first time in September and am staying at Pop as well.

I'm glad you had no problems with crossing the border and had a great first day at MK. That cinnamon bun looks yummy and :woohoo: on the luck with the FPs. Look forward to hearing about your meal at Kona Cafe :goodvibes

Ya disneylovin24, we were talking with one of the guys who drives the boats afterwards and he said some people were getting into trouble with inappropriate comments so now they have a script that they are suppose to follow. We always looked forward to that ride BECAUSE it was so funny but now its practically the same every time we've been on it :sad2:, aaaw the good old days

TanzUnited99, you are going to have a blast at the POP, there were so many activities that we did not participate in due to our tight schedule. The pools were nice when we went, if you are close to the bowling pin pool I recommend that one, when we went there was only us and one other family at it, no where near as crowded as the flower pool. I am looking forward to reading about your first trip to Disney :yay:

CHAPTER 4 Ė KONA CAFE

We waited... but not for long , we only had to wait for 20 minutes which I was more than happy about, and my tummy was happy too. We had a very nice waiter whose name I completely forget now, it was like David or something, but anyway he explained the menu for DDP and left us to ponder our decisions, but being a DISer we already knew what we were having, thank god because there was no time to look at the menu when I was wasting away in my seat.

Danielle ordered the Teriyaki-style New York Strip (there are mashed potatoes under there somewhere), sorry about the terrible picture, we were so excited to eat food that pictures completely went out the window, dessert gets better, I promise.

http://img823.imageshack.us/img823/5936/cimg2893u.jpg

I ordered the Kona Cafe Experience Ė I got the Pot Stickers, Chicken Pan-Asian Noodles, and for Dessert, Pineapple Upside Down Cake. I was so excited about food I completely forgot about taking pictures of mine at all. It was really good though, a HUGE portion. I picked around and ate most of the chicken and veggies. The pot stickers were duck, having never had duck before I was a little nervous but they were delicious. The ginger sauce that came with them had just the right amount of sweetness, the duck was a lot more tender then I thought it would be. When it came time for dessert we were already so full that I asked for my cake to be boxed up and we just worked from Danielle's since her desserts weren't as "travel friendly".

http://img844.imageshack.us/img844/352/cimg2898v.jpg

For dessert Danielle ordered the Kilauea Torte which was great. For a special added surprise a Danielle got a birthday cupcake.

http://img849.imageshack.us/img849/936/cimg2895s.jpg

http://img34.imageshack.us/img34/7069/cimg2894e.jpg

REVIEW:All and all this was a GREAT meal, I donít know if it is because we were starving or what but it was definitely 5 out of 5. The portions were huge, neither of us even came close to finishing our food. The dad at the next table over joked that he should eat with us more often, he wouldnít even have to pay for his own meal :rotfl:. The service was excellent and we were impressed at how fast we were seated even though we were super early for our reservations. We would definitely eat here again.

After dinner we were so full and so sleepy from being up all day we thought it best just to call it a night and recoup for a full day of fun and excitement tomorrow. We hopped on the monorail to go back to MK and then caught a bus to return to POP.

CHAPTER 5: I NEED A HAIR TIE

So DAY 2, we woke up bright and early at 6:40 and I started to get ready, once I was finished Danielle got up. She is not use to early rising so she was more than happy to stay in bed for a few extra minutes. We were out the door by 7:40 and on our way to EPCOT. When we arrived there were people all over the place. There were huge line ups, so we decided to just jump in one. We saw a short line over to the left but it was for the Princess Breakfast so we ignored it. Then 5 minutes later a nice CM from the left there came over and said he noticed our KTTW cards and that we could come into the park now if we wanted. We jumped on that, we were in the park before EMH even began WOOHOO!!

http://img34.imageshack.us/img34/349/cimg2913n.jpg

Nothing was open just yet, they were still getting everything ready, but by the time we made it over to Ford TT we were the first in line. It was awesome! :yay: I wish I would have gotten the name of the guy at the front gate. We like to go the customer care center on our way our out and let them know all the CMís who make our days at Disney extra special.

We hoped right on FTT with no wait, when we stopped at the seatbelt inspection before the ride began we had a short discussion with another CM (Bill) about how messy my hair was going to be, he wished us luck and we were on our way. **Notice how in the picture I have to hold my hair with my right hand, I needed a hair tie... baaaaaddddd.

http://img268.imageshack.us/img268/9224/photopass2.jpg

On the second go around it was a different CM at the seat belt area, after exiting the ride I decided to give in and throw my hair up since it was a windy mess. When we exited we saw Bill and I let him know that he was right, and that I did need a hair tie. He laughed and asked if we wanted to go on the ride again with no wait, we both looked at each other and said YAH!! He took us up the back through the handicap entrance via the elevator and walked us right onto the ride. This was awesome since a line had started to develop. One lady waiting in line asked us, "Which line did you guys come from?" we just smiled and said that we had made a friend. BILL IF YOU READ THIS, YOU ARE THE BEST!!! :lovestruc We rode the FTT 4 times that morning in 20 minutes it was the best morning in Disney yet.

http://img4.imageshack.us/img4/673/photopass3.jpg

After that we headed over to Spaceship Earth, this new ride is so funny. We love picking our own world.

http://img705.imageshack.us/img705/6259/cimg2933t.jpg

After that we played some games in the Pavillion before heading over to Living with the Land.

http://img825.imageshack.us/img825/6006/cimg2934b.jpg

Our original plan was to get FP and then have breakfast but when we got inside there was no one there and the FP lines were closed so we got breakfast without the FP. We split the Breakfast bounty and Sunshine Seasons (sorry no pictures). Then we got on my favourite ride of all time, living with the land. I just think it is the coolest, I love the Mickey shaped veggies. Afterwards we went to Nemo and Figment before heading over to the World Showcase.

CHAPTER 6 Ė Around the World in ONLY 2 Hours

We walked over to the World Showcase via Mexcio but it was still closed :sad1: so we decided to walk around the other way and come in from Canada (woot woot). When we got around it was perfect timing. We decided we would stroll around and hunt pennies.

http://img855.imageshack.us/img855/7631/cimg2971.jpg

http://img51.imageshack.us/img51/79/cimg2973n.jpg

We saw lots of character and decided now would also be a good time for meeting and greeting until it was time for our 12:45 lunch reservations.

http://img594.imageshack.us/img594/3448/cimg2981y.jpg

http://img34.imageshack.us/img34/5103/cimg2983n.jpg

EPCOT is the best place to meet character because they donít have huge line-ups, like the other parks do. We walked around until 12:15 then we found ourselves back at Italy and we thought, letís give check-in a try. We went to Via Napoli to check-in for our reservations and were seated right away. It was awesome, now we were going to be 30 minutes ahead on our itinerary.

http://img850.imageshack.us/img850/733/cimg2991c.jpg

This was our first time eating at this restaurant and it was scrumptious, both food and wait staff :cloud9:. The only issue was a small language barrier but, I have to admit their English is far better than my Italian so kudos to them for speaking both. I forgot to mention earlier that we always order soda being on the DDP. I only mention it now because the drinking glasses here were so cool.

http://img535.imageshack.us/img535/2695/cimg2995.jpg

Danielle ordered the Mezze Rigatoni alla Creme con Pollo and she seemed to like it, we are both pretty picky eaters so where can you really go wrong with chicken and pasta.

http://img171.imageshack.us/img171/8472/cimg2996b.jpg

I ordered the Signature Pepperoni Pizza Pie and mmmmmmm was it yummy. It was just perfect, the crust was thin and crispy and NOT soggy in the middle. The give you some speal about dough from Italy or something but I couldn`t really grasp it. Long story short, pizza is a definite go here, but it was so much, even with sharing we boxed up half and took it back to the room (it was kind of soggy later but still good).

http://img31.imageshack.us/img31/7312/cimg3003f.jpg

http://img148.imageshack.us/img148/2281/cimg3002t.jpg

For dessert we ordered the Coppa Di Brutti Ma Buoni and the Zeppole di Ricotta both, I thought, were to die for. Danielle wasnít a huge fan of the Zeppole but I think it was the calories that were holding her back, but in Disney those donít count for me :cheer2: so I loved them. They came with fresh whipping cream and it was sooo good.

http://img695.imageshack.us/img695/1925/cimg2999ho.jpg

Also Danielle was surprised again with a yummy birthday cookie dessert thing and an Italian verson of Happy Birthday, it was intense.

REVIEW Ė We thought Via Napoli was a nice change from the regular Disney Pizza. Via Napoli is NOT quiet though, we didnít find it loud, however it is a large room and was noisy from time to time. The meal was perfect and there are many other items on this menu we would like to try. We will defiantly be returning to this restaurant again, probably on a trip with the rents, this is somewhere they would like, at least I know for sure Mom will like it ;). After lunch we caught the bus and returned to the room to freshen up.

CHAPTER 7 Ė "ARE YOU OKAY?"

After our quick naps and a wardrobe change we hopped on the bus and made our way over to Disney Hollywood Studios for some fun and Fantasmic. It was getting to be late in the afternoon so we had to have a plan of attack because we knew the park would be busy. We got there and went straight to ToT, there was a 10 min wait for I talked Danielle into joining me in the Twilight Zone :scared1:. She hates heights but loves the ToT movie with Kirstin Dunst so since she had never been on the ride before that was her motivation. Thank god the wait was short because I donít know if she would have made it, but she did HURRAY!! :yay: I was nervous for her the entire time, this picture says it all, taken mid scream, Lauren to Danielle "Are you okay?".

http://img534.imageshack.us/img534/8117/cimg3010j.jpg

But we made it out of there alive and back to realty were we decided maybe a break is in order, and a treat. We walked over RnRC to get FP before going to KNRN to ordered a strawberry banana smoothie, we chatted it up with a nice CM at the counter (Phillip) and once we were ready we handed over the KTTW to pay with DDP. He was so nice he said not to worry about it and that it was on him for her birthday. AWESOME, it tasted even better because we saved a snack credit.

http://img801.imageshack.us/img801/3072/cimg3011.jpg

After our awesome score we walked over to TSM and the wait said 40 minutes, we thought hmm not bad. We hoped in line and once we made it to the section where you pick up your glasses they were asking for 2 riders. Well, we thought, we were 2 riders, so we walked on over and skipped the rest of the line. How perfect was that! :cutie: I donít know why or how nor did I care. The wait ended up being 20 minutes for us total, which has never happened before in our lives.

http://img29.imageshack.us/img29/1402/cimg3014z.jpg

Once we got out we thought about going again, but didnít want to push our luck so instead we just strolled around and looked at the sights and pick up a carrot cake cookie for later. We ended up in the Magic of Animation Studio and met up with some old friends.

http://img4.imageshack.us/img4/9495/cimg3027ix.jpg

http://img202.imageshack.us/img202/6840/cimg3031.jpg

http://img847.imageshack.us/img847/1308/cimg3028g.jpg

http://img233.imageshack.us/img233/8228/cimg3026a.jpg

We took the most important tests of our lives and discovered that Danielle is most like Cinderella and I am most like Ariel. Very fitting since I am blonde and Danielle use to originally be red.

http://img577.imageshack.us/img577/4045/cimg3030h.jpg

http://img846.imageshack.us/img846/5500/cimg3032m.jpg

Once we said our goodbyes, we headed over the RnRC with our FP. Our nerves we settled from ToT and it was now or never since the Fantasmic was line quickly forming on the main street. We jumped in the FP line and quickly made it through. This ride is so fast I swear it is over in 60 seconds, at least that is how it seems, there is not even time for me to be scared on this ride because by the time I am it is finished, works out nice for me :thumbsup2.

http://img683.imageshack.us/img683/9656/cimg3037w.jpg

Once we left RnRC the line for Fantasmic was crazy so we decided to succumb to the crowd and join the line. We got great seats right in the center aisle near the top so I didnít get all wet and cold from Mickey and his waves. Now, we decided, was the perfect time for us to enjoy our delicious, moist, sweet, carrot cake cookie.

http://img696.imageshack.us/img696/911/cimg3038p.jpg

Fantasmic was excellent, as per usual, but I didnít take any pictures because my camera was not having a good time with the dark and the movements, but we all know what it looks like, for those of you that donít it is a MUST DO! After Fantasmic it was almost 11:00 and time to go home and get some beauty sleep.

I remember watching the ToT movie at like, thirteen or something and feeling so ~edgy~ and grown-up being able to watch a scary movie on TV. But I didn't like the ending - mostly because I would've been terribly disappointed to get only a bracelet for my birthday! :)

:wave2: Thanks for joining in!! Funny story, we could not find that movie anywhere. Then when Danielle was in grade 10 her highschool choir went to Disney to sing and she bought it for $30, she spent practically all her souviner money on it. Now we watch it every Halloween, it a tradition along with Halloween Town. The movie was scary though back in the days, spooky witch, I always knew there was something shady going on there

CHAPTER 8 Ė ANOTHER SCORE FOR THE BIRTHDAY BUTTON

So we awoke to find ourselves in the wonderful world of Disney still. Today was the day we would visit the animals :jumping1: . The park didnít open till 9:00 so that gave us a little break from all the go go go. We got up and were ready around 8:00, then we went down to the Main Hall for breakfast. Every day Danielle and I would split the exact same thing, the bounty platter, no sausage, extra bacon. Today was the same.

http://img804.imageshack.us/img804/3976/cimg3051.jpg

We headed towards the bus and were on our way to more fun and excitement than we could handle.

We got there right after rope drop (another failure, we seldom make it). Priority #1 was the Kilimanjaro Safari, we like to catch the animals early before it gets too hot outside, but the line was already crazy long so we grabbed FP instead. Then we headed over to Expedition Everest. This was also another first for Danielle, and she was a little nervous again until we ran into this little ditty in the queue which calmed her completely, plus there was no line so we had to keep moving no matter what.

http://img825.imageshack.us/img825/8495/dscf3246z.jpg

I am happy to announce that Danielle lived to tell her story to the world about her love of Josh Gates.

http://img15.imageshack.us/img15/9730/dscf3248w.jpg

After our near brush with death on EE we headed over to Dinosaur, this is by far our favourite ridey ride at AK, we like the zoo rides but this one is a ridey ride. We went on Dinosaur again, and again, and again... the CMís came to know us, but there were just enough people riding that we still had to get off and walk around :sad1:.

http://img8.imageshack.us/img8/9421/dscf3256i.jpg

After all that time travel we were hungry, so we decided to head over to Pizzafari for some pizza and air conditioning, we stopped to see some friends on the way. We got the pepperoni pizza combo with salad, chocolate mousse, a large sprite and ranch dressing on the side. We split this as well, after all we are sisters and we like to share. It was typical Disney QS, nothing to write home about, but defiantly hit the spot.

http://img21.imageshack.us/img21/8639/dscf3299q.jpg

We returned back to the Safari after lunch, the line was still long but not unbearable. When we got up to the FP collector he let us keep our FP because it was Danielleís birthday, awesome, another score for the birthday button!

http://img41.imageshack.us/img41/4780/dscf3291lg.jpg

After we returned from our African Safari adventure we thought hm... what should we do,, Rafiki's Planet Watch!! Now we had never been here before and only stayed for a short time because I'm not one for petting goats really, I mean I can do that at home. We met up with some friends and then moved on.

A nice CM gave Danielle a birthday penny to make a wish in this wishing well, but I high jacked it and traded her a ugly yucky penny for her nice shiney birthday penny for my much needed penny hunting :yay:.

http://img810.imageshack.us/img810/3495/dscf3305j.jpg

Afterwards, we headed over to the Kali River Rapids, the wait said 30 minutes but let me tell you it was way longer. The queue at Kali is very detailed though; I have to admit if I am waiting in line that is one of the nicest waits with the birds and the jungle and what not. We were now ready for rapid fun.

CHAPTER 9 Ė ĎYACKí AND YETI

We returned to the room to freshen up and get changed. We needed to switch into some appropriate golf clothing because we were going to Fantasia Gardens after dinner :cool1:. We returned back to AK and went to visit with some more friends; the lines were super short because it was time for Mickeyís Jungle Jamminí Parade.

We found this little ditty on the ground, there was another one but I didn't know what it was. I think a lot of people miss these Disney touches.

http://img109.imageshack.us/img109/2456/cimg3105.jpg

Afterwards we caught the tail end of the parade before heading on safari with our unused FP.

http://img694.imageshack.us/img694/9726/cimg3062t.jpg

http://img5.imageshack.us/img5/2615/cimg3064r.jpg

This time we actually kind of saw the lion (this photo is like super zoomed btw).

http://img109.imageshack.us/img109/2456/cimg3105.jpg

It was getting close to our 5:30 reservations now so instead of being late we started to walk that way. We check in at Yak and Yeti and were seated right away; I guess a lot of people donít make ADRís at park closing time. While we waited for our table I took a creative picture.

http://img717.imageshack.us/img717/6323/cimg3114i.jpg

Our waitress, whose name I donít remember, was really nice. She gave us a minute to look over the menu then took our order. We didnít feel rushed even though it was the end of the night.

Danielle ordered the Baby Back Ribs, the same thing she got last time and she thought they were just as good. She is a big rib fan so she would know. For dessert this time she got the New York Cheesecake, when in Rome right, oh wait a second... well any way thatís what she wanted :confused3. She said it was good, tasted just like regular cheesecake.

http://img405.imageshack.us/img405/9126/cimg3121t.jpg

http://img33.imageshack.us/img33/4897/cimg3122d.jpg

I ordered the Honey Glazed Chicken with brown rice, this rice was much better than the jasmine rice I got last time. This was also the same thing I ordered last time (minus the rice) but I really only eat chicken so my options are limited. For dessert I ordered the Fried Wontons, I also got these last time but they are heaven so I couldnít say no to them.

REVIEW Ė Now at the time I would have given this meal a 4/5, just because it does lack the Disney lustre, however to be expected since Disney doesnít have anything to do with Y&Y. But afterwards I did not feel so hot . This is the second time I have gotten sick at Disney both times having eaten at Y&Y prior. Iíve always liked this restaurant but now I feel like itís a jinx for me, you know like when you get a pit in peach yogurt, I always stay clear for awhile. Danielle doesnít care either way, she isnít attached to Y&Y so I donít think we will be coming back. It was good while it lasted.

CHAPTER 10 Ė LONGEST BUS RIDE EVER

Now even though I wasnít feeling 110% I still wasnít going to be a party pooper so we hoped on a bus to the Swan and Dolphin from AK to get as close to our golfing extravaganza as possible.

http://img594.imageshack.us/img594/1505/cimg3130i.jpg

We got off the bus at the Swan and had just a short walk around the hotel and across the busiest four lanes of traffic in Disney; I swear there has to be a better way to get to golf than this. At any rate, we made it there alive and in one piece :thumbsup2.

It was busy when we got there and the wait was 25 minutes for Fantasia Gardens or you could golf immediately on Fantasia Fairways, we opted to wait since I still wasnít feeling great  we hoped it would give me time to get over it. They stagger and have you wait so it separates the teams playing but it doesnít work very well because by the time we started we had caught up to the team ahead of us within two holes and they had caught up to the teams ahead of them shortly after.

http://img42.imageshack.us/img42/2855/cimg3144l.jpg

I tried and tried to get the ball up this 'waterfall' but it just kept coming back to me, by this point I was dying from both my lack of golf skills and shear nausea.

http://img194.imageshack.us/img194/7744/cimg3146c.jpg

http://img853.imageshack.us/img853/8181/cimg3167p.jpg

We saw this little guy at the golf course too, he wasn't golfing, just out for a night on the town.

http://img694.imageshack.us/img694/653/cimg3151u.jpg

http://img854.imageshack.us/img854/2908/cimg3161c.jpg

http://img43.imageshack.us/img43/1971/cimg3154.jpg

http://img814.imageshack.us/img814/3083/cimg3163.jpg

We were only playing with 2 people but other teams were playing up to 6. We hung around till about the 9th hole but I still wasnít feeling great and now we were waiting for 4 teams ahead of us to finish so we decided we had gotten our 6 dollars worth and left for what would be the longest bus ride in Disney history back to our hotel.

http://img688.imageshack.us/img688/5383/cimg3170k.jpg

After we walked back to the Swan we hoped on a bus for DTD, thinking we could connect with POP there and be able to go home. This bus ride turned into the 47 minute bus ride from h Ė e Ė double hockey sticks. We continued to the other 5 hotels on the buses route and when we stopped at the Dolphin met up with 2 other DTD buses which were also waiting. We proceeded to follow these buses to every single hotel on the route and all 3 buses would wait for no one to board them. Then on top of that our bus split off from the pack finally after the last Resort and took the longest most roundabout way to DTD. I would be really disappointed if I had paid money to stay at a Deluxe Resort and this had happened to me, this experience has turned me off from Boardwalk Area completely. In total the trip home from golf took 1 hr and 26 min. This was the end of the worst night ever; once we got back to the POP we called it a night.

*** Side Note :) - If you go to Fantasia Gardens make sure you use your CAA (AAA) card and the coupon they give you for staying on site, we ended up paying just over 12.00 to golf for 2 people, it was a great deal.

Hi! Just read all of it :thumbsup2 I'm really close with my sister and I really hope that when we're older we can do trips together like you and Danielle did. That's awesome about all the attention Danielle got for her birthday button, especially TT! Sorry about your bus ride to DD and to POP. I've read that the busses to and from the Boardwalk and DD are notoriously bad. The rest of the transportation isn't bad but that specific trip is always bad. Anyway, I'm reading along! :goodvibes

I'm sorry you weren't feeling well! Mini golf is one of my favorite activities (especially when it's followed up with ice cream). I usually go in small groups and traffic jams always occur! I wish that there was a better way than just staggering to manage groups.

The random Jiminy at Rafiki's Planet Watch makes me laugh. That's really the best spot for Jiminy? There really wasn't anyone else to put in that area? Unless their plan is to guilt people into coming over and look around, but I don't think that plan works very well.

WELCOME!! Thanks for joining in :). We have never stayed at a deluxe resort so we have never experienced the bus system there before, hind site we wish we would have just walked the boardwalk back to epcot. Boggles my mind how the resorts cost so much money and the transportation is so in the toilet. We will stick with our fabulous moderate/value bus systems :thumbsup2.

:lmao: We thought the same thing. We had never been out there before and when we got there we didn't think there was that much to see. I wanted to watch animal surgery but Danielle isn't big on that kind of stuff, makes her sick. There were some good characters with short lines but that was about it. We meet Pinocchio the next day, they should put the two of them together in MK, that would be the cats meow, but alas planet watch it is for Jiminy :confused3

CHAPTER 11 Ė TOO LATE FOR A VERY IMPORTANT DATE

I woke up feeling much better the next day, thank god, cause last trip I ended up in bed for 2 days, dying. Housekeeping was starting to get nervous. I got ready and woke Danielle up, she was stoked that we were back on track for fun and excitment, she had been nervous she would be touring the world alone :sad2:. We got ready, had our usual breakfast then boarded the bus for HWS. Our goal, to ride TSM one more time before departure tomorrow. We arrived just after rope drop and ran with all the other patrons to TSM to get FP for the day, however when we got there they were already for 5:00pm, this was not going to fit into our plans :headache:. The line was outrageously long, 90 mins, and I am not one for lines so after a little powwow we decided to forgo HWS all together today and move onto MK. So back to the front of the park and to the Transportation Center. Our little fopaw cost us an entire Disney hour, oh poop.

Any way please enjoy these pictures from our other day since we didn't take any at HWS this morning.

CHAPTER 12 Ė WHITE AND WATER DONíT MIX

After our early morning debacle we made it to MK with good time thanks to the Monorail system. We had so much to do today at MK since we cut the first day short, where to begin? I know!! Where we left off!!

http://img824.imageshack.us/img824/5607/cimg3215z.jpg

http://img829.imageshack.us/img829/6783/cimg3176t.jpg

We headed over to Frontierland again, our favourite place to be. We grabbed FP for Splash Mountain and then hopped on Thunder Mountain since the wait wasnít that bad. We rode that twice then went over to HM to wait for our FP. We rode that a few times then headed over to Fantasyland. By now it was hot and sunny out, so we popped into Mickeyís Philharmagic to cool down.

After that we met a couple friends for a quick visit and a how ya doing. Mary was being kind of weird today, she totally boxed me out of the picture, however, everyone else was in good spirits.

http://img806.imageshack.us/img806/2598/cimg3229.jpg

Then we rode the carousel and the tea cups. It was starting to be around lunch time now so we figured we would walk back over use our SM FP and grab a burger.

We went to Peco Bills for lunch and it was a zoo. It was so busy we opted for the divide and conquer technique. Danielle went to find a table while I ordered us lunch. I got us the 1/3 Deluxe Angus Burger, and let me tell you even though I am not a burger fan, this was scrumptious. We split this meal of course along with some fries a strawberry yogurt and a large sprite. I neglected to take any pictures though, sorry.

After lunch we rode Splash Mountain, we were glad we waited because it was so hot out it was the perfect time to get wet. Usually once we ride the water rides we go home to freshen up, I hate walking around in wet clothes, especially when you are wearing a white dress
(duh, what was I thinking :headache:), so we headed for Main St. to catch a bus to the POP. To freshen up and get beautiful to see our favourite Prince tonight .

CHAPTER 13 Ė A DREAM IS A WISH

When we got back to the hotel we found that we had left a little early and had a TON of time so we decided to go swimming. The pool was really close to our room and when we got there it was pretty much empty.

http://img803.imageshack.us/img803/7697/dscf3336o.jpg

We went back to the room, showered, changed and were on our way back to MK to catch the monorail to GF. We arrived right on time at 1900 PF and checked in. They gave us a buzzer so what were we suppose to do, wait; I think not, we hunted pennies!! Just when we hit the mother load the buzzer went off, YES! Dinnertime!! We got our picture taken (a complete waste of time, who buys that stuff) and then were seated at a 2 top by the carousel horse. Our waitress was awesome, she offered us beverages and we both ordered chocolate milk and apple juice, gotta love Disney buffets.

http://img13.imageshack.us/img13/3473/dscf3354f.jpg

We went up for our first go, mine was soup cheese pizza, a bun, and mashed potatoes, CARBTASTIC.

http://img41.imageshack.us/img41/2792/dscf3352q.jpg

Danielle got some sort of red meat, mashed potatoes, beans, and a bun. Our second plates were much the same, I gave the chicken a try and then I gave it a pass, too greasy for me.

http://img84.imageshack.us/img84/8734/dscf3355o.jpg

Dessert was delicious, I missed one plate though, Iím not sure whose this was but they were pretty similar Ė strawberries and strawberry soup, brownie, cookie, bread pudding, and gummy bears. Really we went to see Cinderella and Prince Charming though, and they were so cute.

REVIEW Ė The meal was typical Disney buffet, nothing special, nothing terrible, just regular. The characters at this buffet are hilarious though. We didnít have to wait for any of them, we were there for an hour and saw them all; it couldn't have worked out any better. I enjoyed the characters at this buffet but I prefer the food at the breakfast option. If I returned again it would be for breakfast with Alice instead, once was enough for Cinderella.

CHAPTER 14 Ė TO MAKING IT COUNT

So after dinner we caught the monorail back to MK. Since we hadnít even been to Tomorrowland yet we decided that would be the place to start. We grabbed some FP for Buzz Lightyear then headed over to the People Mover.

http://img191.imageshack.us/img191/5603/dscf3360.jpg

I like this ride, itís way to sit and rest your feet and see the park, we like to look over the edge at all the little tiny people walking around underneath us. Plus, there are so many Hidden Mickeys in there! After that and some much needed penny hunting we headed for Buzz.

http://img36.imageshack.us/img36/1750/dscf3369a.jpg

http://img803.imageshack.us/img803/2369/dscf3375.jpg

http://img850.imageshack.us/img850/2600/dscf3372.jpg

I hate this ride but Danielle loves it, I can never figure out where my laser is pointing and I get like 6200 points meanwhile Danielle has like 278000, boggles my mind. Any ways we got that over with, Danielle was happy, she won yet again YIPPE, letís move on.

http://img560.imageshack.us/img560/5971/dscf3386b.jpg

http://img146.imageshack.us/img146/7502/dscf3395nb.jpg

http://img545.imageshack.us/img545/2719/dscf3398.jpg

We strolled over through Fantasyland to Frontierland and hopped on HM a couple times. Then the ride got stuck once for a few minutes, so that was the end of that, I didnít want to get trapped in there on our final night. When we left the HM we noticed the Main Street Electrical Parade had started, we were having a tough time getting around but once we got over to SM/TM it was deserted, everyone was watching the parade, perfect for us.

http://img713.imageshack.us/img713/3411/dscf3407l.jpg

We rode TM around 6 times, I lost count it was so much fun to have no line what-so-ever.

http://img148.imageshack.us/img148/261/dscf3409m.jpg
This is a picture I took as we ran through the "line" for Thunder Mountain.

Afterwards, I suppose I had a little too much fun and needed a break so we walked over to Pirates which also had no line.

http://img832.imageshack.us/img832/6384/cimg3263e.jpg

We rode that twice and when we came out Wishes was ending now, we looked at each other and knew we needed to make a beeline for the Main Street to avoid getting caught in the crowd. We did a slight jog through Adventureland, and made it across the bridge before we caught the crowd. The show was still on as we manoeuvred our way through the crowd.

http://img3.imageshack.us/img3/7885/dscf3411e.jpg

We still had 4 snack credits that needed to be used tonight. We stopped into the Main Street Confectionery to spend our last snack credit. We made it out of the park just in time to beat the crowd and catch a bus back to POP.

Once we got back to POP we checked our credits at the counter and found out we still had 2 QS (should have eaten one the first day we arrived :headache: when we were starving to death) so we went to the cafeteria and grabbed 2 green apples with caramel and a Smart Water, what a waste. On the way out we said good-bye to our POP friends. All around, it was a great last night!!

Since you had recently posted on my TR I figured I would check yours out. It looks like you two had so much fun!
I love the penny thing that is so cute!
The Italian desserts looked delicious!!!!
Is there a engagement ring in cement in one of the pictures? I couldn't quite tell what it was. If so do you know the story behind it?
Thunder Mountain was closed in January when we went, I was super bummed because I love it in Disneyland. One of my favorite things to do in Disneyland is go on TM during the fireworks, because you go up a big hill slowly and it is like they are right in from of you, then you go through the tunnels and stuff and when you come out you are surrounded by fireworks it is so beautiful, all while flying through the wildernes;)
The couple of gummy worms on your dessert plate at Park Fair were cracking me up. My husband loves gummy bears and I could totally see him getting a brownie and half a plate of gummy bears. :rolleyes2
Im glad you commented on my TR so I could find your TR!!!

Glad you found us! We have our current TR going on here (http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2908155) as well. Thunder Mountain is one of our favourite rides at Disney World. We usually do our circut of it during the Electrical Parade because it's basically a continuous walk on (and sometimes even a "stay in your seat and go again:thumbsup2").
At the Haunted Mansion is Disney World before the referb there was a cut off fence post in the cement that everyone said was the brideís wedding ring from the ride. When they completed the new queue they put an actual ring in the cement in a secret spot for those who wished to look for it. We were so excited when we discovered it because Haunted Mansion is a family favourite.
