Well hello there! :wave: Thanks for stoppin' by! Welcome to my very first trip report! You'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll learn about life. It's a beautiful thing, really. So hold onto your hats and glasses, 'cause you've just crossed over into:

Before we get started, though, there are a few things you should know about the folks who accompanied me on this Journey of Joyous Jubilance:

Hi! I'm Kristen. I am 16 years old and OBSESSED with Disney. I have been going since I was 6, and I've always appreciated the little things and the magic that brings everyone closer together at the Happiest Place on Earth. :goodvibes I am also crazy about the frumpy things in Disney, like the monorail, school bread, Muppet Vision 3-D and Figment. You may remember me from Jess' (Disneyfreak508) trip report from January. I can't wait to do the College Program someday, become a Disney Vacation Club member, and have a Disney lovin' husband and kids.

Mike is my brother. He's 18 years old and took his first trip to the World when he was 8. He loves the thrill rides, but he also loves the classic and unique Disney experiences, like One Man's Dream and The Magic of Disney Animation. He is studying to be an architect at the University at Buffalo, and is one of the smartest and most genuine people I know. He really tells it like it is, and has a surprising but fantastic sense of humor. His alternate plan in life is to be a Disney animator, because he is a brilliant artist. He loves to create his own characters and give them a backstory. This was his first trip back to Disney World since 2008, so he was excited to see what had changed and what he remembered.

Dave is my Dad, but we call him Dave. Not generally to his face, but we just like it better. Haha. Dave is a Colonel in the Air Force and is also a Pediatrician. He and my mom got divorced when my brother and I were younger, so moving around is generally pretty easy for him to do. No worrying about pulling us out of school or taking us away from our friends, because we live with our Mom. He currently lives in Santa Maria, California, but is moving to Las Vegas in a couple of weeks. He has done his best to keep in touch with us over the years, and comes to visit from time to time. He always takes us somewhere on vacation each summer, usually to Walt Disney World or Disneyland. He loves everything about it and is a child at heart.

I just totally dissaprove of me being on the second page. I had watched the TR board waiting for this to show up so I could have one up on Jess, but of course, I had to be gone all day and miss it! :sad2: First, Pottermore now this. This day isn't going well for me LOL

Well, you know I'm in! This is going to be interesting hearing a Frump's view of the World (since it was only the half-frump before :rolleyes:) I'm loving the Figment love in your introduction. He is pretty awesome, right? They just need to get rid of Doctor Nigel Channing :P And then bring back Dreamfinder :D and we're all good hahahaha Oh and also, I agree on the Garden Grill being awesome, probably my favorite character meal. (: And I'm so glad I'm not the only one with train tracks that doesn't get them off until later :rolleyes2

Your brother's shirt is AWESOME! I need to get that! (: And that's great he wants to be a Disney Animator. If he is as good as you say he is, I can't wait to see some of his Disney character drawings. And lucky you for having a parent that likes to go to Disney. If only I was blessed with Disney-loving parents :cloud9:

My family all loves Disney, but it's mostly because of me, lol. But yeah he was getting comments on that shirt all day when he wore it. It was great! He is SO good, I should post some of his other artwork as well at some point. Remind me haha.

I got mine yesterday, i'm jealous you got yours on tuesday! I just couldn't bring myself to stay up that long. Cool! I actually could've gotten another account yesterday, because I got the clue and the whole glitch they were having was to make sure only a certain amount of people could find the registration page, actually, but everyone ended up with it at first. I really wish I had registered again since my friend wanted one. It also was harder to get registered the day I did it, since you had to make the Quill levitate in an ad and the question was harder (the difficulty was higher on the first three days). Some people didn't get in because of that quill though. I was persistent and got in! WOOT! Now, I'm counting down the days until I get my Welcome email and I get to actually go on Pottermore :hyper:

Chapter 1- The Day BEFORE Disney World!
July 24th, 2011

Here we go! Your first update! If you're as excited as I am, that means you like me! Yay! :rotfl:

So, the day before we went to Disney, my brother and I were running all around our house and packing like madmen. He finished before me and headed off to spend the evening with his girlfriend, Katie, who will be mentioned quite a few times throughout this report.

Meanwhile, I finished packing.

I then decided it was high time for one of my favorite things to do before I go to Disney...paint my nails! :woohoo:

I decided to channel the Disney characters and parks in my nails for this trip, and although it took a few corrections, changes of mind, and a few long hours, I was very happy with the finished product. Here they are!

After those were done and while they were drying, I checked into my flight, had dinner with my family, and caught up on the DIS. That night seemed to be a big night for TR updates, so I was kept very entertained. :thumbsup2

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix was on abc family, so I watched that while snacking on something incredibly divine...

After Harry Potter was over I tried to get some sleep, but I couldn't. I WAS TOO FREAKIN' EXCITED!!!! :cheer2: So I stalked the DIS some more and watched the Proposal, followed by some reruns of That 70's Show. Then, at about 2 a.m., I FINALLY fell asleep.

Sure! I basically took all of my favorite movies, rides, shows and other Disney parks things and split them up for each link. There were 14 links because I made it two weeks prior to my trip. They including Wishes, the monorail, Festival of the Lion King, Pirates of the Caribbean, Muppet Vision 3-D, the Jungle Cruise, Illuminations, Soarin', Finding Nemo: the musical, Stacy, the Rope Drop show, the Sing Alongs movie from the 80's, Tangled, and a few others. Just pick your favorite quotes and lines, your favorite colors for the paper, and divide it up however you want! :thumbsup2

Chapter 2- WE'RE GOING TO DISNEY WORLD!!!

July 25th, 2011

Hey everyone! I'm gonna try to sneak in one or two more updates after this one, before I take my upcoming trip to the World in just 6 DAYS!!! :wizard: I am SO excited! I miss it already. :laughing: Anyways, back to the trip at hand...

After getting a not-so-satisfactory night's sleep the night before, I woke up on that magical morning of July 25th at about 7:30, too excited to go back to sleep. :hyper: I turned on the TV and the Today show was on. They were discussing the death of Amy Winehouse. Tried to make her go to rehab...:rotfl2: It's pretty sad though, that so many celebrities die or ruin their lives that way these days.

On a much happier note, I glanced at my ticker and it said "11 months, 4 weeks, and 1 day" until my trip. Uhh...I think NOT. That meant that today was the day!! :woohoo:

I got up and showered, ate some frosted mini wheats for breakfast and pretty soon I was all ready to go! :thumbsup2

It was POURING rain outside so Mike took the luggage out for me and we booked it to the car. Our mom drove us to the airport so my brother wouldn't have to pay for long-term parking. How nice.

It took a little longer than usual because of the thunderstorm (aka MONSOON) and there were even some traffic lights out at one of the intersections! That's not very safe. :scared1: I was afraid that our flight would get delayed, but it ended up clearing up and the sun came out!

We passed the time by taking some pics.

That's my sister, Sarah. She came along to see us off. You'll meet her again in my trip report for my upcoming trip, which we are both VERY excited about. :goodvibes

Pretty soon we were at the airport! We parked in the short-term parking section, went in and checked our bags. We said our goodbyes and headed to security, which moved very fast and went smoothly.

We took a trip on the moving walkway, which Mike calls the Superhero because it makes him feel like one, to our gate, number 16! That's my birthday number and is also my lucky number, so I was feeling good about this flight already.

We got to the gate and Mike bought some food at a place called Which Wich? to tide him over until we dinner that night, but I wasn't hungry. It's not Disney food, but he thought it was good and it held him over well.

While we waited, Mike ate and talked to Katie and I read Founding Brothers and texted my many well wishers. Allie (aka princessallie here on the DIS) texted me and said that it was beautiful outside in Disney World that day. She and her family were already down there, and I couldn't wait to meet up with them all! Yes, there may be a DISmeet or two in this TR...hint hint. ;)

After a while I got bored with my entertainment and began to people watch. A whole group of boys in black polos came and sat near our gate, and a few of them were pretty cute. :rolleyes: I also saw a little girl with a princess suitcase. Way to travel in style. :thumbsup2

Pretty soon it was time to board this baby.

I love the excitement of getting up on the day of a trip. we usually leave pretty early for the airport so it gives me just enough energy to get through the day without being tired at all :) You must have been so excited to log onto the DIS and anticipate being in Disney in a few hours. My parents have DVC and are nice enough to let me use it pretty freely. They have a pretty good amount of points. My moms goal is to one day own enough points to live in Disney for two straight months. :lmao:

I love the excitement of getting up on the day of a trip. we usually leave pretty early for the airport so it gives me just enough energy to get through the day without being tired at all :) You must have been so excited to log onto the DIS and anticipate being in Disney in a few hours. Welcome Aboard Disney's Magical Express!

July 25th, 2011

Hey readers! Only 3 days until my next trip!!! Jess and I watched Hercules and Aladdin last night with Vickie, Allie, and a bunch of our friends, and that really got me in the spirit! I'm gonna try to get in another update after this one, so you all won't be without reading material while I'm gone! So, without further ado:

Once we were in the air, I took the liberty of showing the itinerary I had made up to Mike. Once I was done, he gave me this look like "Are you serious? I'm already tired." SUCK IT UP BUTTERCUP!!! :lmao:

Then he decided he better get a nap in while he could, and while he was sleeping I listened to some of my favorite Disney music on my iPod, started reading A Raisin in the Sun, and took this picture:

When Mike woke up, we ate the 3 complimentary peanuts and had waters, which I didn't really think were worth my camera's time. Haha.

He started to doze off again and I just looked out the window and listened to my music. He informed me at one point that I had been singing "It's a Small World" OUT LOUD. :blush: How embarrassing. I sometimes sing absentmindedly. Oops.

A few minutes later, we were informed that we were starting our descent!!! And pretty soon...

PALM TREES!!!! And that means that we had arrived!!!!!

We got off the plane at about 3:45 and were informed that it was sunny and 92 degrees. YAY. We got on this baby:

We got to baggage claim and got our luggage pretty quickly. While we waited I called my mom to tell her we landed...and Mike called Katie...again. They're in loooveee. <3 <3 Tehehe.

We then headed to the Disney's Magical Express section of the airport, which took a lot of thinking. For those of you who get confused, like me, it's in Terminal B, floor 1, go left out of the elevators. P.S. Terminal B is the green one on the MCO map.

WE MADE IT!! YAY!!!!

We waited over by the side and met up with Dave after a few minutes, because his flight got in a little later than us. Then we got in line, a.k.a showed a few CM's our DME booklet and walked straight outside to the bus. But not without taking a pic of this lovely sign:

A CRUISE BUS!!! YAYY! I have ALWAYS wanted to have one of these buses, I love them. I freakeddd out. Seriously, I had a mini conniption. The other passengers probably wanted to chip in for a tranquilizer.

Anyway, we boarded my heavenly chariot and took our seats.

Our bus driver was David Morales, and he was very nice and friendly. He showed us the movie after about 10 minutes, maybe less, and it was precious and a half as always. I love it. I wish they sold it on DVD. I would buy it.

Okay, this next pic reminds me of Dave from the 2005 Disney World vacation planning DVD. If any of you read Jess' "Bathrobe Princess" trip report from when we went in January, then you know that I took a picture with a shirt that says "You gots to chill" and that reminded us of Dave as well. LOVE him. He's really lazy and likes to scope out the park benches. Apparently, so does Goofy.

The movie finished, and some advertisements for DVC and ABD came on. And this is when ya'al get mad at me. There we were, going under the gates to Heaven, one of the most photographed arches in world, and frumpy little me has a full-on conniption. I like jumped out of my seat, starting squealing, and was basically acting like Boo when she sees "Kitty" in Monster's Inc. I know what you're thinking; that's not so bad, right? Well, it is. You see, when I was having my little party, I FORGOT TO TAKE A PICTURE of the aforementioned arch. Wahh. I really hope I don't lose readers because of this. Please, I beg you, forgive me. To make up for it, I took a picture of the first Disney highway sign I saw:

I know it's not much, but I love all the signs.

We stopped at Old Key West first, which I had never officially been to before, at least that I can remember. It is GORGEOUS. I see why Jess and her family like it so much. SO pretty. Here's a couple pics for Jess and Mother and all you other OKW fans:

The next stop was Saratoga Springs, another I had never officially been to. I think this one is equally gorgeous, but it might have a little bit of an edge for me because I have always loved the colors and theming a LOT. Maybe it's because I'm from upstate New York, I'm not sure. It's just beautiful.

Love the story about you being so excited to see the magical gateway arch :) I totally understand how you would have forgotten to take a picture of it though. One time when my family was staying at pop (our current resort of choice) our room overlooked the magical gateway which was both happy and sad for obvious reasons.

I'm pretty sure a year ago, when I went under those, I went ballistic, I couldn't find anything to take a picture with and by the time I had my camera out I couldn't get a decent picture and it was insanity. I was nudging my mom then bugging my sister... it's just crazy, so I totally understand and won't leave this TR (: I think your Frumpiness suffices... and maybe a Mickey Bar would be nice :mickeybar Hehehe

I've read that poem! It's so good! Reading A Raisin in the Sun actually helped me understand it better. But I LOVED it! It's definitely one of my favorites now. Pretty simple and easy to read, but really packs a lot i ya know? Meaning-wise and characterization-wise.

Chapter 4- Back to the Big Easy!
July 25th, 2011

Well, it's about that time! We leave TOMORROW MORNING!!!! Bright and early we'll be headed outta here, at 4 A.M. to be exact! :scared1: But I don't mind, I'd rather leave then. I'm too excited to sleep anyways. :banana: I wanted to get in one last quick update before we left, though! So here goes:

Magical Express dropped us off right in front of the main building, and David Morales got our luggage for us. Dave tipped him and we headed inside to check-in, but not before we took a few pics!

We got our room assignment, and to my delight, I discovered that we were in Building 4!!! :woohoo: Super close to the main building and we could literally see the bus stop from our room! Which ended up being very convenient!

Omg i love your resort pics :) My family use to stay at port orleans when i was in preschool/kindergarten but we haven't been back there since then. My mom prefers the carribean beach resort over the port orleans but i still have a soft spot for port orleans. A couple of years ago i went on a church youth group trip to new orleans and i loved it! I now really want to stay at port orleans sometime just to see what it is like. All the pictures look really festive as well :) Can't wait to hear about your room as well. Hope you have fun on your trip that you leave for tomorrow!!!!!!! :)

Well I've been in a very CR-ish mood lately and now I really want to stay there. Great updates!!! :) I loved staying at POFQ in March and June! I wish we could stay there in Sept/Oct when my parents come but it's sold out :( With it being the smallest and now with queen beds, those rooms are going to go quickly, especially with discounts!

Kristen, I'm finally here OMG. I'm sorry I'm so late. I have so much to catch up on!

First of all, your Disney (and Harry Potter) nails are FABULOUS, girl. I always debate doing mine in some interesting Disney fashion, but then I wind up just throwing on a solid color at the last minute.

I remember having to read Founding Brothers in high school. I'm pretty sure my copy actually came to WDW with me too, though I don't think I got much reading done...

Planning DVD Dave is wonderful. He's up there with Stacey on my Disney heroes list. Anytime I sit on a bench, I'm reminded of him.

Chapter 5- Welcome Home!

July 25th, 2011

Hello everyone!!! I'm back! We got back on Tuesday, pretty late. We had a magical time, and this trip was full of tons of surprises and loads of pixie dust! pixiedust: I can't wait to share it with you! By now you probably know that Jess and our friend Nat showed up and surprised me! I honestly had NO idea at all that they were coming! It was brilliant. Best surprise EVER. We all had a fantastic time and I can't wait to tell you all about our adventures! But for now, the trip report at hand...

When I left off last we were about to enter our home for the next week. I was very excited about this because I knew that the rooms had been refurbished really recently! I couldn't wait to see it! And I'm sure you all cna't either so here are some pics! I made Mike and Dave wait at the door while I took pictures, before they invaded.

Once I was done disturbing Mike and Dave with my insane excitement, we decided to head to the bus stop to head to the general area of our dinner reservation a bit early. Along the way, I took a couple pics.

It is soo pretty! I love it. The new rooms are such an improvement and our view was lovely. :) I love all the courtyards.

I feel like you must watch her whenever the TV is on in disney. It just wouldn't be disney with out her.

Can't wait to hear where you are going to have your first disney meal, I'm guessing you are eating in the magic kingdom or a magic kingdom resort.
