Hello and Welcome to my very first trip report!! I have been on the DIS boards for quite some years now and have loved reading many.. many.. many trip reports and have decided to take the plunge and have a try at one!! So please bear with me! :thumbsup2

Where - The Polynesian
When - November 5, 2010 - November 13, 2010

I hope I took enough pictures to represent the wonderful time we had, if not I will know for sure what to take for our 3 upcoming trips! :yay: A solo trip for me to attend a Disney Agent Education Program! (I am a Disney TA), A January trip with my husband as I attempt to run the Disney Marathon! And then a June 2012 cruise aboard the Disney Fantasy!! So I hope this will be the 1st in many trip reports!

Let’s start with the introductions.

ME
My name is Leigh and I am a self diagnosed Disney freak! I appear normal to the outside world, but my real friends know I’m Disney crazy! (but I am right at home here!) I am also a Disney TA so I HAVE to go to Disney often in the name of research!

http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6124/5986137704_1821e962dd.jpg (http://www.flickr.com/photos/65744721@N04/5986137704/)

I grew up in South Florida so I have been to Disney numerous times, but they were mostly day trips with friends and family and we never stayed on property :scared1: I know.. I still shudder at the thought. I grew up…went to college (GO GATORS), moved to Maryland, got a job, got married, had kids and realized it was about time I introduced my kids to Disney and about time I brought the magic back into my life!

Our First “real” trip was back when my son Gabriel was 3.5 (he is now 8) and I was pregnant (VERY PREGNANT) with my now 4 year old son Rhett. We went in December of 2006 and had the time of our lives!! The weather was cool, there were no lines and we really enjoyed ourselves.

Here is Gabriel when he was 3.5 at Chef Mickey’s… he’s so little ..sniff. sniff.. they grow up so fast

http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6002/5986166628_64f4a3cf5b.jpg (http://www.flickr.com/photos/65744721@N04/5986166628/)

DH
My wonderful DH Mark tolerates my love of Disney. He doesn’t LOVE Disney, but he goes and he enjoys himself. He likes that I plan everyday out and that he doesn’t get stuck in lines! He usually only goes on the longer trips with us. (Me and the boys visit family and friends in Florida every summer and Mark usually stays home – so he doesn’t go with us to Disney in the summer – and he is just fine with that..lol). And he is usually happy as long as he gets one of these on each trip

Gabriel
Gabriel is my 8 year old who has grown up going to Disney. His first trip was when he was 8 months old and he pretty much has gone every year since. He’s my thrill seeker. He doesn’t get into the characters, never really did :confused3 He’s the one who makes the mad dash to the coaster rides as soon as we enter the parks. He’s also the one who could care less if he was ever in a picture!! So you may or may not see him in many!
http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6012/5987677192_f8b938cd3b.jpg (http://www.flickr.com/photos/65744721@N04/5987677192/)

Rhett
Rhett is my sweetie pie and pill all in one! Then again, he is 4! He loves Disney just as much as Gabriel and I and he is my camera ham so you will see that I have more pictures with him in them than Gabriel.
http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6128/5987691608_1e8b686427.jpg (http://www.flickr.com/photos/65744721@N04/5987691608/)

And that is us! Whenever we stay at Disney we have always stayed at either the values or Moderates. But this trip I was DETERMINED to Stay Deluxe. The Polynesian was my goal. I booked it at rack rate (good lord was it expensive), but with the help of the DIS board and tons of patience I got the elusive 40% off pin code! :cheer2: So, it was final! We were booked and ready to go… then a week before we were to leave…. The stomach bug hit our house…. would we be able to go?????

We were scheduled to leave Baltimore Friday morning around 9:00 am. Which would mean that I would have to be up by 5:30 to start getting ready. Which normally isn’t a problem, BUT.. let’s back up a few days.

Tuesday afternoon Gabriel tells me that his stomach hurts. Now it is November so I have been crossing my fingers and praying that the flu or stomach bug does not come to our house! And if it does, then let it come weeks before we leave so we can just get it over with!! So when he tells me that his stomach hurts I start freaking out a little bit. TMI alert……he had diarrhea all day Tuesday into Wednesday but never ran a fever or threw up so I thought we were in the clear. I felt fine, Rhett felt fine and so did Mark.. WHEW, I tossed it aside to something he ate and continued packing and getting ready for our Friday departure.

On Thursday I am running around all day trying to get organized and get everything in order before we leave. I am a little OCD about having my house completely clean before I go away on vacation. I don’t know why really. I just hate coming home to a messy house. Probably because I make such a mess when we return trying to unpack and put everything way!

I pick up Gabriel from school at 3:00 come home and relax a bit on the couch and around 4:30 it hits me. I start to feel nauseous. ARE YOU KIDDING ME! The stomach bug has hit me. More TWI alert, I don’t know what’s worse throwing up or having diarrhea, but for me, all I was doing was throwing up. I call Mark and tell him he needs to come home early and hope and pray it only lasts 8-12 hours. And then worry about when or if it will hit Rhett and Mark.

And sure enough around 9:00 as I am putting Rhett to bed, he tells me his stomach hurts. Fabulous.

I am very paranoid whenever my boys are sick. I hear too many stories (well.. mostly from my friend who is an ER nurse so I am sure its highly skewed) about children who have seizures or aspirate on their vomit while sleeping so I sleep on a blow up bed on the floor in my boys rooms whenever they are sick.

So here I am. Thursday night. The night before we are suppose to leave for our 8 glorious days at the Polynesian. Gabriel in bed deliriously happy that he is going to Disney in the morning, and Rhett and I throwing up every 30 minutes and me not knowing IF we are going to Disney in the morning. How can I make this right!?

I'm super excited to hear about your trip. I, too am a Disney TA and I went to the agent education program 3 years ago. I loved it and learned so much. This year we're going in October for the first time and can't wait to see the Halloween decorations but October seems so...far..away!!:rotfl2:

Hello and :welcome:

Hi! Thank you on the comment on their names, Gabriel is actually named after my FIL and Rhett, well, we just happened to like the name and was trying to find something not so common.

I just emailed a bunch of agencies until I found one hiring! :wizard: I really love it!

So here I am tossing and turning all night long. Rhett is getting up about every 30-60 minutes to throw up and I just can’t sleep. I am constantly on alert, listening for him and getting sick myself. NOT FUN! I was seriously in tears around 2am. :guilty: I had all these thoughts and back up plans going through my mind. Gabriel and Mark could go down without us and Rhett and I would fly down on Saturday. Surely in a day we would feel better. We can cancel and rebook for December. But at about that time I stopped getting sick. I still was nauseous, but I wasn’t getting sick anymore. I was still getting up with Rhett every 30 minutes though but was thankfully his ceased shortly after.

So at 5:30, I peel myself of the floor (the blow up bed lost all its air) and dragged myself into the shower. Now, I LOVE Disney, but I can honestly say that I did not want to go. I felt like a train wreck. Every part of me ached. But I did it for the boys. I just knew that I had to get down there, once I was down there I could sleep.

So I got a shower, woke up Gabriel and Rhett. I was a little worried how Rhett would feel. He had not gotten sick for at least 2 hours now, so I quietly said, “Are you ready to go to Disney?” And he jumps out of bed as if he was never sick! Seriously! :confused3 I wish it was that easy for me to bounce back!

So off we went! We arrived at BWI around 7:30. Mark dropped us off and went to go park the car in long term parking.

http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6007/5987857464_348dfb9bff.jpg (http://www.flickr.com/photos/65744721@N04/5987857464/)

Look at Rhett. Does he look sick to you! He was so excited! I am so glad that kids bounce back from illnesses faster than adults.

Getting through security was a breeze and before we knew it we were on the plane!
Yes, I know I look a little rough here! :rotfl:

http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6132/5987295565_1313785f8e.jpg (http://www.flickr.com/photos/65744721@N04/5987295565/)

I sat next to the boys in the beginning because, yes, I am that mom and wife that likes to keep the peace! I like to be there in case the boys fight, need anything, to keep them entertained, etc. I didn’t want them to aggravate my husband. For some reason I try to make it as stress free for him. I guess so he’ll keep allowing me to come back!! But I finally gave in and eventually switched seats with him (he was across the row) and put my head down and took a nap.

We had an uneventful flight and in 2 hours we were touching down at MCO and about to take our “fake monorail” ride!

http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6011/5987858212_87b734c16d.jpg (http://www.flickr.com/photos/65744721@N04/5987858212/)

I can’t tell you how many times I have flown into MCO and each time I ALWAYS go to the wrong terminal. It never fails, I always walk the LONG hallway down terminal A, get to the end and wonder, “Where did they move Magical Express too?”

http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6006/5987849422_32055fb0f4.jpg (http://www.flickr.com/photos/65744721@N04/5987849422/)

And I did it again this time, really… like I needed to be walking all over MCO feeling like I just got hit by a semi.

So we walked ALL the way back to the elevators, back up to level whatever, over to terminal B, took the elevators down and walked ALL the way down the hall and eventually got to Magical Express!

Polynesian Please! :dance3:

welcome and thank you! We did go in November of 2010, and while the begining of the trip was a bit chilly (by Florida standards), it was in the low 70's it did warm up in the middle of the week and we did use the pool! And unfortunately, that wasn't the last we'd see of the stomach bug :rolleyes1

Looking forward to the rest of the story! Hope Disney is the magic cure
welcome! Disney sure can make anything seem better can't it! pixiedust:

There is something so magical about stepping on board the Magical Express. :wizard: It’s puts such a huge smile on my face! And this time, even though my head throbbed and I felt like I was going to keel over and pass out.. it still did!
It was around 11am when we boarded the ME and I was hoping and praying that we would be lucky enough and that our room would be ready early. Otherwise I was going to have to pull up a lounge chair at the pool and take a nap! ;)

It’s such a wonderful feeling when the movie starts to play! I love watching Mickey and the gang welcoming us and getting us all excited for our upcoming trip.

I actually told the CM that I was coming off a stomach bug and PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE let our room be ready. I really hope I didn’t scare her, or worse, infect her! I always feel bad when I don’t feel well and I am out in public. I tried really hard to make sure I used hand sanitizer all day. THANKFULLY, our room was ready! We requested the Samoa longhouse, ground floor, facing the volcano pool and SCORE that is what we got. It's by far was the best room location EVER! Well, besides a theme park view of course. ;)

After checking in, off we went to our room. We utilized the baggage service with Magical Express so I knew our bags wouldn’t be there for a few hours. We didn’t plan on going to a theme park today. We had planned on going to Downtown Disney or go to the pool. But, it was a little cool today, unusually cool for Florida, mid 60’s. So Mark decided to take the boys to the Magic Kingdom and I went to sleep…..

Ahhhhh….

http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6010/5987856388_d3714d8103.jpg (http://www.flickr.com/photos/65744721@N04/5987856388/)

Sorry the room is so dark. But it actually was perfect. As soon as my head hit the pillow I was out! I really hoped I wouldn't sleep to long as we had ADR's for Boma that night. But more importantly, I hoped I could actually eat something later. So, as I drifted off to sleep I thought of the day and all that it took to get down here. At least I made it. It wasn't pretty, it hurt and I ached all over. But I knew that my boys were happy and on their way to the Magic Kingdom so I drifted off to sleep very happy.... :cloud9::love::thumbsup2

up next: REALLY Magical Express, today could have been a day that you could have been late!

What a start to a trip - you are a real trooper to not have postponed! And kudos to your DH for giving you some time to sleep when you got there. He should definitely get some brownie points for that! :thumbsup2

So glad you were happy with the deluxe room - DH and I were just discussing last night actually what we could've done with that extra $ and sincerely hoping that we didn't make a bad decision by upgrading this trip. :wizard: Transportation and sleeping arrangements were some major headaches for us last time - my poor DD - no one can sleep with that child in a full-size bed! :lmao: I actually woke up several times last year SCREAMING at her for smacking me and hitting me in her sleep! :lmao:

I can't wait to go to the AEP. Are you going this year??
I KNOW it seems so far away.. but if it makes you feel any better.. I'm not going until November!!! too far!! I have never been during Halloween either.. I am going to try for that next year. Either that or F&W as a girls only trip. :thumbsup2

No, I'm not going this year. Maybe in a few years I will think about doing it again. MMMM...Food and Wine. I am definately doing that to the max in October.:woohoo:

Letting you know that I'm joining in! I'm interested to see how you found the parks & weather, since those are about the days we will be going this year. :thumbsup2

How adorable are your boys?! And I just love their names! My little one's middle name is Gabriel. I was happy to get it in, because I just could not convince DH on it...I really wanted it for a first name for DS, but we compromised. :goodvibes I'm glad Rhett was feeling better quick, I hope you were able to bounce back quickly as well!

Joining in!:goodvibes

How completely awful to start your trip that way!!!:sad2: That is definitely my worst nightmare...someone gets sick on Disney Eve. Poor you!!! And how awful you weren't fully able to enjoy all of the excitement of checking into the Poly for the 1st time.

I hope that little nap does the trick and you are able to get on with the vacation. Hoping it was a great one!;)

:goodvibes hello! and thank you for joining! it definitely wasn't the way to start my vacation. But I WAS at the Poly after all! I made up for it once I felt better!

YOU MADE IT! TO THE BED!:thumbsup2

Nice of the hubby to take the boys. I hope your rest left you feeling much much better.:flower3:
:banana:bed!! yes! I was so happy that my room was ready! I was waiting for the dreaded, "I'm sorry, your room is not ready yet but we can text you when it is." ;) Hubby definitely got a gold star for the day for taking the boys to the Magic Kingdom!

Subscribing! So sorry to hear you were sick - you are a trooper for still leaving as scheduled! I had the stomach bug on our trip in November last year and it is the worst!
Hello and welcome! When were you guys there? I wonder if we were there at the same time. Its no fun, I hope you recovered quickly!

Hi! I'm subbig in! Sounds like a really fun trip even though you're off to a sick start! I hope you feel better before supper at Boma! Your boys are too cute! And I LOVE the name Rhett! It's one of my favorites for boys! I can't wait to hear about the rest of your trip!

Welcome! Thank you, yes, I did begin to feel better. And thank you on Rhett's name.. we like it. :lovestruc

:lmao:

I knew I couldn't postpone. I knew I just had to get down there.. once I was down there I would be okay. As long as I wasn't getting sick anymore it was manageable, it wasn't fun.. but I could do it! And yes, hubby definitely got brownie points for that!!

You know. I went back and forth on the same thing as you and DH.. is it worth the extra $$, we could do so much more with the $$, etc. But you will come to find out that it will be the only way my hubby will stay now! which is fine by me!! ;)

and YES, Rhett is a BEAR in bed. I had to sleep with him when we stayed at All Stars Sports this summer (hubby wasn't with us) and we shared a bed for ONE night.. the next 3 nights I paid extra for a roll away bed! :rotfl: he is my kicker, hitter, lays across the bed. Its awful! The Poly was nice because they have a day bed as well.

No, I'm not going this year. Maybe in a few years I will think about doing it again. MMMM...Food and Wine. I am definately doing that to the max in October.:woohoo:

nom nom nom nom, I can't wait to fully enjoy Food and Wine sans kids! Can't wait to hear all about it!

Hello and thank you for joining! We had beautiful weather!! it really is a wonderful time to go. It was a bit chilly in the beginning, but I think it was unusually chilly. Gabriel is actually named after my FIL, I originally wanted Jackson, but Gabriel grew on me as long as no one called him Gabe (which is what we call my FIL) and of course you get the occasion person who will automatically call him Gabe after I tell them his name is Gabriel
Its amazing how quick Rhett bounced back! Kids, wish it was that easy!!

I hope to have an update posted this afternoon, I have to take my son to soccer camp this morning and run a few errands but I hope to be able to get it up soon! :goodvibes

I last left off fast asleep. :faint: Enjoying the peace and quite of the comfy, cozy, dark room. No kids. No hubby. No noise. I was in such a deep sleep when KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK. Are you kidding me!:headache:

Now, any other time I would be happy as a clam that Magical Express was so early! But today, not so much! I groggily dragged my butt out of bed and answered the door. I felt bad for the guy, he was all bubbly and spewing with Disney Magic and I was like, whatever dude, put em over there and here’s your tip! Well, I don’t think I was that bad, but I know I wasn’t all smiles and cheer!

Seriously! I looked at the clock and I had only been sleeping for about 2 hours. But I was up and I did feel better. I text’d DH and asked if they were going to be there for a while and if so that I would come over. He told me that they had lunch and were just walking around. They just went on Thunder Mountain and were about to get a drink and head over to Pirates of the Caribbean because they remembered that we promised them that the next time we came to Disney we would buy them those wooden guns from the gift shop. They remember EVERTYHING!

I told him that I was going to get freshened up and head on over and meet them. I really wanted to see my boys in the Magic Kingdom.

So I freshened up a bit. And this is where I apologize and I will know for next time. I hardly took any pictures of the room! But here is the sink in the bathroom!

After I washed my face and tried to look presentable, I made my way over to the boat dock to take the boat over to the Magic Kingdom. This is where I was in heaven! I stepped outside and the weather was perfect! It was a little chilly, mid 60’s, but it felt good and it immediately put me in the Disney Spirit!

This was the view from our patio. The Volcano pool is through the trees on the right and Captain Cook’s is right over the bridge on the left. It was the PERFECT location.

Once I boarded the boat, I sat back and enjoyed the 5-minute boat ride across the Seven Seas Lagoon over to the Magic Kingdom. I was fully taken in the beauty of everything around me and was so giddy to be getting closer to the Magic Kingdom.

Once I was inside I called Mark and he told me that they were still near Adventure land. So I started walking down main street and took in all the beautiful Christmas decorations

http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6015/5987286849_c4865097db.jpg (http://www.flickr.com/photos/65744721@N04/5987286849/)

That is what I love about November, it’s warm (well, usually it is – as you can see we are wearing hoodies today) there are low crowds and they have the holiday decorations up already.

I met up with my happy boys with their new gun! Oh Joy.

http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6006/5987850158_ce4e011988.jpg (http://www.flickr.com/photos/65744721@N04/5987850158/)

Serioulsy, look at that picture. What do you notice? LOW CROWDS! This picture was taken at 4pm.

After I met up with the boys we decided to head on back to the room. It was a little after 4:00 and we had 6:00 ADR’s for Boma!

Of course we had to take a few pictures on main street!

http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6004/5987853768_1e87df6d14.jpg (http://www.flickr.com/photos/65744721@N04/5987853768/)

I have to say I don’t look TOO bad considering!

http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6025/5999197823_bd470114c8.jpg (http://www.flickr.com/photos/65744721@N04/5999197823/)

I was actually getting hungry. The only thing I ate all day was a plain bagel on the plane and I was starting to feel much better. That is the “good” thing, if there is such a thing, about the stomach bug. It usually only lasts for 24 hours. So off we went, back to the Poly to get ready for dinner.

Up Next – Boma!

So we are keeping our fingers crossed, but looking at your pics, I wouldn't mind staying there at all!! :goodvibes

Also, I love that the decorations were out in MK already even though MVMCP had not started yet!! :santa: I hope the same is true this year, because one of my favorite things was the wreaths across Main Street. I also love that last pic of the boys covering their eyes. Too cute!!

Sorry it’s taken me FOREVER to update! I am have been crazy busy! BUT, let’s get on with the show.

I left off with us going back to the Poly to get ready for our dinner at Boma. Now, let me tell you. My DH is a foodie. He travels to LA and NYC all the time for work and he has eaten at some of the best restaurants out there. There are 2 places that he requests to eat at while we are in Disney, Boma and Le Cellier. They never disappoint! So I made sure to book Boma as soon as I could. Little did I know at the time it would be the last time we will probably eat here. :sad2: But I am getting ahead of myself.

We got there a little early so we decide to check out the resort. It’s a BEAUTIFUL resort, and definitely on my list of places to stay. I have heard others say that they think it’s a bit of a distance to the other theme parks, but I would love to stay here at least once.

The beautiful window in the lobby. Sorry it’ so blurry

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j34/flg8tr97/DSC01551.jpg

And finally our destination

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j34/flg8tr97/DSC01559.jpg

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j34/flg8tr97/DSC01576.jpg

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j34/flg8tr97/DSC01570.jpg

Now here is where I have to apologize, AGAIN, for not taking many pictures of the food and inside of the restaurant. But I will make up for it I PROMISE on my next 3 trips and those TR! LOL

Disney never ceases to amaze me. My son Gabriel has a peanut allergy and every time we sit down at a restaurant, the main chef comes out and goes over the menu with us and tells us what is safe and what to stay away from. This time he even took us up to the buffet and went down the line and told us what we should avoid. Love the Disney Difference! pixiedust:

Boma is by far a favorite of ours. Gabriel loves the buffet and being able to go up and make his own selections.

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j34/flg8tr97/DSC02920.jpg

Rhett is happy as long as there is Mac & Cheese and Chicken Nuggets.

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j34/flg8tr97/DSC02923.jpg

And my DH, well, he loves the meat! Seriously, the meat is so yummy! He says it’s even better than our local Brazilian steakhouse Fogo de Chao. And that’s saying something because Fogo de Chao rocks!

Me, I like the deserts! Those zebra domes are sooo yummy! I could just eat desert and be happy. I didn’t eat too much tonight since my tummy was just getting back to normal. But I was sure to take some back to the room for later!

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j34/flg8tr97/desserts.jpg

After we stuffed ourselves silly we decided to head back to the room and rest for our “official” first day in the theme parks. I used tourguide mike for this trip and going against everything in my being, we were scheduled to go to the Animal Kingdom the next day. I usually always try to go to the Magic Kingdom on the first day, but since we sort of went there today, I was happy with going to AK in the morning.

After we got the boys settled down and in bed we all closed our eyes, happy and full, excited for the next day.

And then, just like that, around midnight, the stomach bug claimed its 4th and final victim, my DH. And that is why he won’t ever eat at Boma again…. Not because Boma made him sick, because he knows it wasn't the food but the stomach bug, but just because that’s all he tasted coming up for the next 8 hours.. :sad2::sick:

So, I sat with my hubby for a few hours in the beautiful Polynesian bathroom.. rubbing his back and placing cold towels on his head until he was a little better... I was hoping and wishing this was the last of it.

Up next : Mama and the boys go off to Animal Kingdom alone.

I still want to stay here one time. It's definitely on my list of places to stay! :thumbsup2 I need an excuses to stay at them all.. its for research you know.. to better serve my clients! :rotfl:

I'm so excited to find your trip report! We are planning a November 2012 trip and I've not been able to find many trip reports for the begining of November!
Sounds like you were off to a rough start with that flu bug but glad it seems to be a short lived one! Can't wait to read about the rest of your trip!

You will have a wonderful time in November!! I truly believe November and December are the best times to go! Do you know where you plan on staying?

I'm working on a new update right now and hope to have it up tonight! :thumbsup2

So sorry to hear DH got the bug too...not the best way to start off a vacation, especially after eating at one of your fav places. But like you said, at least it was only a 24-hour bug. Glad to hear you rebounded so quickly!

I may have to put Boma's on our list of places we want to try. DH is a foodie too - and I know he'd love to try it. But I'm not quite as adventurous an eater. I guess I could give him one meal pick though.

And congrats on the AEP trip! A solo trip sounds divine...I may have to ask for that for Christmas!

I can't wait for the AEP! Solo trip is looking really good right about now!! :thumbsup2 Plus we get to go to the MVMCP too!

We left off with poor Mark having a not so much wanted date with the potty. And by morning he really wasn’t feeling much better. So the boys and I were on our own for the day.

When we woke up we realized we had some visitors. Seems the local where there to check us out.

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j34/flg8tr97/DSC02924.jpg

I think they wanted to know if we were going to feed them.. as soon as they realized we were not, they quickly left. But the boys had fun with them while they were there.

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j34/flg8tr97/DSC02925.jpg

We quickly got ready and went to Captains Cooks for a quick breakfast and waited for the bus to take us to the Animal Kingdom!

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j34/flg8tr97/30f0a6de.jpg

Ah, the Animal Kingdom! I think this theme park is really over looked.

We really like this park. Its nice to be able to slowly walk through the park and look at all the beauty that it contains. Sometimes I feel so rushed always on the GO GO GO in the other parks that’s its nice to slow down. BUT, we were on a mission this time. We HAD to get to Expedition Everest, as this was the first time that Gabriel could ride it as he was finally 48 inches!

Hmmm.. where is EE

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j34/flg8tr97/DSC02930.jpg

Before we made a beeline for EE I had to get a few pictures along the way. We purchased the photopass package so I was on a mission to get a lot of photopass pictures!! And let me tell you, it was work! My boys (besides Rhett) are NOT camera hams!! I pretty much had to make them take pictures!!

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j34/flg8tr97/929dabbf.jpg

The tree of life

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j34/flg8tr97/962ff54b.jpg

You know, I have never walked through the Discovery Island Trails. I have heard that I am really missing a nice trail walk. I will be sure to walk it in November!

Destination spotted

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j34/flg8tr97/d2e3b5a0.jpg

But not before another picture.

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j34/flg8tr97/c0b60793.jpg

and another

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j34/flg8tr97/d190b46f.jpg

By this time Gabriel had had enough of the pictures and we made our way to EE. Now, I have never road EE before and neither has Gabriel, so we sat and watched it for a few minutes. I was a little apprehensive about him riding it alone. Rhett wasn’t tall enough, and since Mark was back in the room, Gabriel would have to ride it by himself. Me being the nervous nelly Mama that I am kept saying, “are you sure, are you sure, are you sure?” Now, Gabriel has been on bigger roller coasters than EE at Hershey Park, so I really wasn’t concerned about safety. I guess I was just afraid that he would be scared and I wasn’t going to be there to calm him down. But he kept reassuring me that he would be fine so off to single rider line we went. The CM at the line asked him how old he was, he said 7, and off he went as happy as a clam!

Rhett and I went over to watch him come down the “big drop”. Rhett loved watching the train come down the big drop and was being goofy posing for pictures.

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j34/flg8tr97/DSC02932.jpg

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j34/flg8tr97/DSC02935.jpg

We waited about 15 minutes and then Gabriel emerged from the gift shop jumping up and down pumping his fists yelling, “that was awesome!!!” He asked to ride it again, and again, and again. After the third time I told him it was time to go someplace else and let Rhett ride something.

So off to DinoLand USA we went!

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j34/flg8tr97/DSC02947.jpg

And onto TriceraTop Spin! This is such a cute ride. Rhett loved being up high and being able to see everything around him.

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j34/flg8tr97/DSC02944.jpg

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j34/flg8tr97/DSC02945.jpg

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j34/flg8tr97/DSC02946.jpg

After I swayed them away from all the carnival games they have in DinoLand I let Gabriel ride Primeval Whirl by himself. I was secretly wishing I could go on all these rides! :lol as I have never been on PW either!

Gabriel told me that he sat with a nice dad and his son which made me feel better. I sort of felt bad for Gabriel that he had to go on all these rides alone, but he didn’t seem to mind. He was just happy to be able to ride them. And I was so proud of Rhett for being a trooper and not complaining while we waited.

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j34/flg8tr97/DSC02942.jpg

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j34/flg8tr97/DSC02943.jpg

After Primeval Whirl I said, lets go on Dinosaur! I haven’t ridden this ride in YEARS and the last time Gabriel was on it he was 3.5 years old. So off we went! Little did I know it was a scary ride. :scared1:

Oh wow what a way to start a trip! Hey atleast you were in a really nice room to be able to relax in and get better! Last yr DH and I stayed at Poly CL and he ended up getting sick with what we thought was a bad cold, so we spent one afternoon in the room sleeping, we pulled the curtains shut and it was so dark you couldnt see your hand in front of your face! Thank God I always pack ibuprophen and cold meds, they helped.. BUT when we got home and DH went to dr he had PNEMONIA!

Enjoying the report and cant wait to read more!

So off we went to Dinosaur!

Now, I can’t even remember the last time I rode Dinosaur, the last time Gabriel rode it he was 3.5. I was pregnant with Rhett so I couldn’t ride it, but I remember Mark telling me that if he knew it was going to be that dark and scary that he wouldn’t have taken Gabriel in. But, its been 4 years and Gabriel didn’t remember it and I was thinking, really, how scary can it be? :confused3 Well. Let me just show you the picture.

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j34/flg8tr97/DSC02949.jpg

We are in the second row. I am covering Rhett’s eyes and notice how Gabriel is just sitting there with his eyes closed. I can just hear him saying, “please let this be over, please let this be over”. Seriously, how bad of a mother am I that I am smiling!!! Let’s just say that we probably won’t be going on Dinosaur again for a while. :scared1:

After Dinosaur we made our way over to the Wildlife Train Express. We have never been over to Rafiki’s Planet Watch and I thought it would be a nice thing for us to do after the crazy ride we were just on!

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j34/flg8tr97/DSC02951.jpg

All aboard!

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j34/flg8tr97/DSC02953.jpg

Now, this sign is a personal favorite of ours. We even have the Disney Trading Pin, which the boys were so happy to find.

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j34/flg8tr97/DSC02952.jpg

On one of our trips when Gabriel was around 3, we were on a ride where he wouldn’t sit still. I pointed to this sign and said, “Gabriel, what does this sign say?”. Well I knew full well that he couldn’t read, but I will never forget his response. His response was, “no jumping and jiggling”. And for the past 5 years we still get a kick out of this sign and say No Jumping and Jiggling every time we see it. :rotfl: Just some Disney Memories that will be with us forever. :wizard:

After a short train ride we arrived at Rafiki’s Planet Watch and made our way back towards the conservation station.

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j34/flg8tr97/DSC02954.jpg

Once inside we slowly made our way around the windows and looked at all the animals behind the glass. I didn’t seem to take too many pictures in here.

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j34/flg8tr97/DSC02961.jpg

But Rhett found a great big tiger!!

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j34/flg8tr97/DSC02956.jpg

A trainer came out with a snake. I really can’t remember what he said about the snake, all I know is that Rhett was very quick to touch it. That is why he is so blurry here in this photo. As you can tell, he is not a fan of snakes.

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j34/flg8tr97/DSC02957.jpg

After looking around a bit more we made our way outside and went over to pet the goats. I don’t know what it is with kids and goats, but they sure do love petting them.

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j34/flg8tr97/DSC02962.jpg

We petting a few and then made our way back to the other side and heading on over to the Kilimanjaro Safaris!

The Safari is such a cool ride. It’s even better when all the animals are out. Both boys had their cameras out and ready to take their pictures.

Continued........

Once we made it safely back from our Safari it was time to head on over to It’s Tough to be a Bug. I wasn’t sure how Rhett was going to do in this attraction. I remember from last time that he was a bit scared. He asked me if he saw this before and I told him yes. I think they both were a little apprehensive since the Dinosaur ride. I don’t think they trust me anymore!! :rolleyes1 And of course, Rhett didn’t like it. He hated when Hopper came out, and then the bug spray and all the smoke. But they do look so cute in their glasses!

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j34/flg8tr97/DSC02974.jpg

After It’s tough to be a bug we headed on back to Yak and Yeti for our dinner reservation. Of course we had to stop for a few pictures first.

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j34/flg8tr97/DSC02979.jpg

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j34/flg8tr97/DSC02980.jpg

And then we got behind the Mickey’s Jammin Jungle Parade. And danced along with Mickey.

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j34/flg8tr97/DSC02981.jpg

We were a little early for our reservation, so why not. Let’s let Gabriel ride EE again.

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j34/flg8tr97/DSC02983.jpg

Dinner at Yak and Yeti was yummy. I think I had the dumplings, I wasn’t too terribly hungry and my stomach wasn’t back to fully being normal yet. But I knew that Mark was missing a good meal. He really loves Asian fusion cuisine and I knew this would be right up his alley. I did talk to him before dinner and he did make his way over to Captain Cooks and I think he said he got some soup and crackers.

The boys got their typical kids food. Either burgers, chicken or Mac & Cheese!

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j34/flg8tr97/DSC02989.jpg

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j34/flg8tr97/DSC02990.jpg

We had a late ADR so when we finished the park was empty!!!

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j34/flg8tr97/DSC02992.jpg

Once we got back to the room we told Dada all about our day and Gabriel was so excited that he road Everest about 5 times! He is for sure my thrill seeker!

It was getting late and I was tired. Rhett had already been bathed and was passed out in his daybed. Mark was sleeping too. But Gabriel and I had one thing on our minds. Going out to the beach and watching Wishes! This is what I LOVE about the Poly. It was such a nice experience for Gabriel and I. We pushed two lounge chairs close and cuddled up in the blanket and sat there and watched wishes from the Poly Beach. With the music being piped in, I think it may very well be the best place to see it!

Loving the day at AK - sorry your DH had to miss it. And one of the things I am most looking forward to this trip is being able to watch Wishes from our room at CR! Just like you said, showers had, snuggled up with the kids, the music is piped in and you can sit and watch it without the crowds and just enjoy the time with your family...priceless!

isn't it wonderful! I seriously think I enjoy it more than watching it in Magic Kingdom. It's just so peaceful and a wonderful way to end the night! I know you will love it!

We are off to Hershey Park in the morning. And thankfully my friends husband is going so Gabriel can ride all the big scary roller coasters with him! (my hubby has to work) :lmao::scared1: I am a big sissy when it comes to the big coaster.. EE is about all I can handle!

I was originally signed up to run the full marathon in January, but I made the decision after my long 9 mile run today to transfer down to the half. :headache: Part of me is ashamed at myself. I ran the half this past January, and knew full well I wanted to run the Full in 2012, but I slacked off and stopped running until June. :scared1:not smart. So as I was out running today I had a bunch of thoughts going through my mind.
1. I am so not ready. yes, I can run 13.1.. but 26.2? nope. I know I'm not.. and that's okay.. that just means I can go down Jan 2013 and run it!! :thumbsup2:rolleyes1
2. My Dh and my aunt are both running the half on Saturday, (the full is on Sunday). We are flying down on Friday. For those of you that are not familiar with the marathons in Disney, they start EARLY. and you have to be there even earlier! We got up at 2:45 to be on the bus at 3:30 for a 5:30 start time.. so if I ran the full. Dh would have to get up Sat, then I would have to get up on Sun, and we would only have Monday to sleep in and relax. We are coming home on Tuesday.. OH.. forgot to mention.. NO KIDS! :woohoo: soooo , this way, we will all be on the same schedule.. I won't be hurting that bad on Saturday... we will have Sunday and Monday to go to the parks and relax. Its really a win win situation.. PLUS, I get to go back solo in 2013~ :dance3:
I'm working on day 2 and hope to have it up on Tuesday! Have a great evening!

First off I have to apologize for not updating in awhile. I hope some are still reading along. It’s been a crazy few weeks. Getting ready for back to school and then getting ready for Irene! We lost power for 48 hours! Which in comparison to what some have lost, really isn’t that bad. I hope no one else has suffered any sever damage. I know I am thankful for only losing the contents of my refrigerator!

So back to our trip! I awoke early on day #2 ready to go! Maybe a little too early since the rest of my crew was sound asleep still. So I decided to take this time to get some coffee and walk around the resort.

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j34/flg8tr97/DSC03017.jpg

The Polynesian is such a beautiful resort and so peaceful in the early morning.

As I strolled back I noticed I had 2 little ones waiting for me!

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j34/flg8tr97/DSC03026.jpg

One thing I did not like about Captain Cooks is that they did not serve pancakes! They had waffles and French toast, but no pancakes. Rhett is a strange eater. He’ll eat waffles, but the have to be Eggo brand, he wouldn’t touch the Mickey Mouse waffles (I know.. he’s nuts!), because they were too“puffy”! So we decided to take the monorail over to The Grand Floridian and eat at Gasparilla Grill.

Waiting to get on the monorail. I seriously loved the convenience of the monorail, especially with a stroller at night with a passed out little man.

I can totally see myself staying here!

Rhett said we came in 3rd.. but who knows!

After we parked our cars we headed on over to Toontown.

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j34/flg8tr97/DSC03061.jpg

I am so happy to see the Fantasyland Expansion, but still a little sad to see this part gone. It’s such a cute area, but we are happy to know that Goofy’s Barnstorm will be back! Love the ride, just wish it was longer than 45 seconds!

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j34/flg8tr97/DSC03074.jpg

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j34/flg8tr97/DSC03075.jpg

After Toontown we decided to head on over to Fantasyland. And surprisingly the line for Dumbo wasn’t that long!

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j34/flg8tr97/397dec5d.jpg

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j34/flg8tr97/DSC03081.jpg

As an added bonus, a CM was going around handing out fastpasses for Mickey’s PhilharMagic! So we waited in line to ride Dumbo!

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j34/flg8tr97/8094d293.jpg

And of course the real reason I wanted to ride was so I could get a sneak peek over the fence and see what was going on with the expansion! :lmao:

Not much yet… bummer!

After Dumbo we heading on over to Peter Pan! I LOVE Peter Pan, It’s by far my favorite ride in Fantasy Land. But of course it’s usually a long line. Even in November!

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j34/flg8tr97/DSC03090.jpg

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j34/flg8tr97/DSC03091.jpg

I only wish I could get decent pictures in here! Look, big ben! :lmao:

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j34/flg8tr97/DSC03097.jpg

After Peter Pan it was time to go on the happiest boat ride on earth!

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j34/flg8tr97/DSC03098.jpg

After our little cruise we headed on over to Frontierland, but first we would have to stop off at the shooting gallery.

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j34/flg8tr97/DSC03109.jpg

Next stop! Splash Mountain!

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j34/flg8tr97/DSC03112.jpg

Now this was a big deal for us as this was our first trip where Rhett was 40”, he was finally tall enough to go on all the thrill rides that he has had to sit out on. He seemed ready and eager, but still had some apprehension in his eyes. I asked him who he wanted to sit with, Mama or Dada, and he choose Dada. Which was strange because he is such a Mama’s boy!

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j34/flg8tr97/DSC03117.jpg

So it was Gabriel and I upfront.

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j34/flg8tr97/DSC03118.jpg

Every few minutes I would hear Rhett ask, Is this the big drop? Is this the big drop? And finally we came to it! Here we go! The big drop :scared1:

After we survived the big drop of Splash Mountain, Rhett was ready to tackle Big Thunder Mountain!

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j34/flg8tr97/DSC03133.jpg

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j34/flg8tr97/DSC03136.jpg

And boy did he love them both!!! He wanted to go on them again and again!!! BTM was a walk on so we did go back on it and he was screaming with his hands up the whole time. It’s such a right of passage when your kids hit that 40”,it was such a bitter sweet time for all of us!

Now it was time to set off and find some Pirates!!

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j34/flg8tr97/DSC03137.jpg

ummm, no, you already have one! :goodvibes

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j34/flg8tr97/DSC03138.jpg

And the favorite part of the ride… getting to see the stinky feet guy!

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j34/flg8tr97/210c0956.jpg

After the ride we waited around and watched the show outside with Jack Sparrow.

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j34/flg8tr97/DSC03146.jpg

It was a cute show, they really do play the part well. If only it was really Johnny Depp!

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j34/flg8tr97/DSC03148.jpg

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j34/flg8tr97/DSC03149.jpg

It was getting close to our dinner reservations at Cinderella’s Round Table so we started to make our way towards the castle. But first a stop on the The Magic Carpets.

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j34/flg8tr97/DSC03152.jpg

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j34/flg8tr97/DSC03155.jpg

And do you know that I had no idea you could try to get wet by the spitting camels! You learn something everyday here on the DIS.

Now dining with the princess’ was my idea! I so wanted to do this!! Rhett (my little one) was okay with it, but I have to tell you that my son Gabriel was a big ole grump during the whole thing!! He didn’t want to have anything to do with them!!

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j34/flg8tr97/DSC03159.jpg

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j34/flg8tr97/DSC03161.jpg

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j34/flg8tr97/30ace8d8.jpg

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j34/flg8tr97/DSC03184.jpg

I thought it was such a neat experience!! I loved being inside the castle, it would have been better by a window but it was so neat and I loved all the pomp and circumstance when the princesses were being announced! AHHH to be a little girl again!

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j34/flg8tr97/DSC03169.jpg

Here’s Rhett making his wish.

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j34/flg8tr97/DSC03167.jpg

We were the first stop for the princess’ and boy did they ooh and ahh over Rhett! He was such a ham with it too! He is such a shy little guy and it was so cute to see him get embarrassed but loving it at the same time!

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j34/flg8tr97/DSC03171.jpg

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j34/flg8tr97/DSC03175.jpg

More kisses for Rhett!

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j34/flg8tr97/DSC03181.jpg

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j34/flg8tr97/DSC03182.jpg

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j34/flg8tr97/DSC03183.jpg

It was such a neat experience but I have to say that I wasn’t impressed with the food. The kids ordered the usually pizza and chicken nuggets and I ordered the Roasted Beef Tenderloin and DH ordered the Grilled Pork Chop. Mine was okay, but his pork chop was so dry! We were really disappointed with the meal but the entertainment was wonderful!

And love the pics of the boys on Splash Mountain! That's my favorite ride, I'm glad Rhett enjoyed his first thrill ride!

I bet he loved them! :thumbsup2 Too bad Gabriel didn't enjoy the princesses as much as Rhett, but it's a boy thing! ;) I bet the princesses gave Rhett lots of attention though! :goodvibes It sounds like a great day in the MK, and those PP pics with Capatin Hook are great!

WOW! Really! It’s been over a month! :sad2: I can’t believe how much time has gone by since I’ve updated!! This trip was almost over a year ago! I have been back since twice AND am about to go back in 3 weeks!! You think I need to hurry up a bit here?!? Seriously, I better get a move on before the DIS purging fairies delete my thread! Lol Plus I am starting to forget everything! All my trips are merging into one!

But I will get this TR done in the next week I promise! That is my goal! I want to start on my PTR for my upcoming Disney Travel Agent Conference and then I have the Marathon Weekend to look forward too and our cruise next summer!

Okay, where were we, oh yes, we left off (eons ago) having a wonderful day in the Magic Kingdom. But today it’s time to tackle Epcot and Rhett’s first time on Test Track and Soaring! Gotta love being 40 inches!!

We got up pretty early as I wanted to be in the parks as close to opening as possible. I don’t think we ever made rope drop this trip. Probably due to me, I can be pretty pokey in the morning. It’s not getting up early… it’s getting ready.

Not sure what we ate for breakfast, probably the usually at Captain Cooks. But once we were done we were off!

Our first destination

Once we got off the monorail we made a bee line for test track! But how I love that first entrance into Epcot!

Rhett LOVED it! I mean he loved it! I am almost positive we rode it again before heading on over to Soaring.

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j34/flg8tr97/fb02bdb6.jpg

After test track we heading on over to soaring!

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j34/flg8tr97/4bdabf67.jpg

Of course I don’t have decent pictures of this but again, Rhett was so excited to be able to ride it with us! I made sure I told him and Gabriel to catch the golf ball!! The love that part the best and of course seeing the hiding Mickey's!

After soaring we were all getting pretty hungry. I wanted to try the Shawarma Chicken Platter at Tangierine Café and boy was I glad I did! It was delish!!

The boys got something to eat at Liberty Inn. The usual of course.

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j34/flg8tr97/bb095fb6.jpg

After lunch we decided to walk around the world showcase and see if there were any performers out.

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j34/flg8tr97/922bf084.jpg

Last time we saw the "Serveur Amusant" in France and were hoping to see them again. But came to Italy and saw this guy.

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j34/flg8tr97/c7122e4e.jpg

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j34/flg8tr97/146f4a0f.jpg

I can’t remember the name, but he was juggling. Gabriel was actually pulled into the act and was told to throw in a soccer ball. It was great fun!

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j34/flg8tr97/59cc0578.jpg

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j34/flg8tr97/1937f05b.jpg

I love all these performers in the World Showcase. They are always awesome! If you haven’t taken the time to watch them, you really should!

After watching the show we decided to take off and try the Kim Possible Missions.

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j34/flg8tr97/b6fa695a.jpg

I didn’t take too many pictures of us doing the actual mission. But if you have older kids, this is a really neat thing to do. You check out one of these cell phones and it takes you on a hunt all over the World Showcase. Once you get to certain destinations you can actually interact with pictures or other things. It’s pretty neat.

After Kim Possible we walked around the World some more. We decided to make our way back towards Future World to go on a few rides before our dinner reservation at Le Cellier.

Here we are in Mexico.

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j34/flg8tr97/d8a106ff.jpg

I’m pretty sure we hit a few rides before our dinner reservations but I guess I didn’t take any pictures.

But it was time for dinner, and I have been waiting to try this place out for months!

Day 5 - Rest Day

Ahh.. a planned rest day. I don’t know about you, but I love to have a rest day planned in the middle of our trip. :thumbsup2 And this happened to work out perfectly! My inlaws are snow birds and live in Sarasota during the winter. They wanted to come and see us while at Disney but I knew they wouldn’t want to go all day in a park so we decided to have a rest day the day that we would meet up with them. It was perfect!

So we slept in and when I opened the curtain who did I see! Our resident ducks!

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j34/flg8tr97/35447ff1.jpg

I think they were still hoping we would feed them.. but once they realized we were not, they were off to another patio.

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j34/flg8tr97/3c9aebee.jpg

We had the BEST location in a Garden View room! Samoa facing the volcano pool! BEST LONGHOUSE EVER! It’s a minute walk to Captain Cooks, which is so nice in the morning when I send my hubby out to get me some coffee!

View from our patio. That is the volcano pool.

Any my wonderful hubby delivering my coffee! :surfweb:

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j34/flg8tr97/7ed53987.jpg

We had some time to kill before the in-laws arrived so we had some breakfast before starting our lazy day. The boys decided to make use of our wonderful location and play some football outside of our room. We seriously felt like we had our own yard!

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j34/flg8tr97/2a9632ec.jpg

After a while Gabriel decided that he wanted to go to the arcade. REALLY. We go on vacation and my son wants to go to the arcade. So we went to the arcade for a little bit...

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j34/flg8tr97/a4fd12c6.jpg

and then Rhett and I toured the grounds. Now, I don’t even think I took enough pictures to describe how beautiful the Poly is. I know some people don’t get it. They think it’s run down. And yes, there are parts of it that need some remodeling, but don’t all the resorts!:confused3 It’s a bit pricey, but you are paying for the location and the ambiance here. It’s divine!!! I’ll let the pictures do the talking here. :cloud9:

Into our walk I got the call that the in-laws were here.. so we headed back to the room to meet up with Grammy and Pop-Pop.

Up next pool time!

Thanks for the compliment on my boys! :lovestruc and yes, we were so glad the stomach bug left us!! Thankfully it was at the very beginning of our trip!

I am hoping to get my next update posted tonight. I am uploading pictures now! :thumbsup2

The Poly pics are beautiful too. Hopefully we can get over there even just to look around one day. :goodvibes

POOL TIME!

We got the call that the in-laws were here so we headed back to our rooms. We gave them a tour of our room and sat for a while to catch up and to open the presents that they brought for the boys. After we got all caught up we changed into our suits and decided to hit the pool!

A few CM’s came out and started playing some games and drawing with chalk around the pool area. The trivia was too hard for them, and I honestly forgot what the questions were, but they did get into playing with the chalk . We made some pretty pictures.

I love having "down" days at Disney too - you guys really know how to relax and have fun! I loved the pic of your son and Grammy - I recently moved back to Oregon and left behind my grandson (4) and granddaughter (6 mos). That pic made me anxious for a reunion trip to WDW!

down days are the best too! I hope you are able to get down and see your grandchildren soon. Being away from family is hard. We live in Maryland and the rest of our family is in either Florida or Ohio, so we don't see them often either. Makes it all that much more important when we do!

Great update! I didn't know the pool at the Poly had such a great view. :cloud9:

Out of interest, me and my family are thinking about going in November next year. Do you think it's a good time to go? We are worried it will not be hot enough, or pool weather. We went in August, and while it was absolutely baking hot, we actually liked the humidity!

Can't wait for the next update! :goodvibes

The pool is fabulous!! We really enjoyed the resort during the day! its quite dark at night.. which is nice, but it's beautiful in the day!

The view is fabulous in the pool!!

When we were there is was chilly in the beginning of the week. We had to wear pants and hoodies, but as you can tell by this day, it did warm up enough to use the pool. Probably high 70's mid 80's, but never real hot. It can be hit or miss with November. Really hot, or very nice or unseasonably cool..

I'll have the next update by morning! :)

After a wonderful day at the pool we decided to go back and get showered and dressed and go rent some Sea Raycers.

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j34/flg8tr97/6fde5227.jpg

It was Rhett and I

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j34/flg8tr97/456ce2ae.jpg

And Pop Pop and Gabriel

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j34/flg8tr97/c8f5ac91.jpg

If you have never rented a Sea Raycer, I highly recommend it. I think it was around $45 for a half hour and you get to go all over the seven seas lagoon. We even went all the way over to the Contemporary and the Wilderness Lodge! I was such a cool thing to do with the boys. I’ll let the pictures speak for themselves.

We had diner reservations at Kona that night to celebrate Grammy’s birthday. Her birthday was a week prior. But before we went up to eat we posed for some family pictures.

Here we are singing to Grammy!

After dinner we watched wishes again from the beach and called it a night. Even though we didn’t go to a park I was still tired! And I was looking forward to the morning! My mom and Aunt Kathleen would be arriving and meeting us at Hollywood Studios!! Yeah!!!!!

Day 6 – Hollywood Studios!

After a wonderful day at Epcot we were very much looking forward to today! My husband and I are originally from Florida, but life and work relocated us to Maryland. Most of my family is still in Florida, so we were very excited when my Mom and Aunt told us that they would be able to come and visit us for a few days on this trip. :yay: My Aunt (my moms sister) is like a sister to me. I am an only child and she is only 9 years older than me so we are very close. We actually ran the Disney Half Marathon together this past January and are running it again this year!!!

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j34/flg8tr97/hollywoodstudios/4aa0f26b.jpg

So the plan was to meet my mom and Aunt at the entrance to Hollywood Studios.

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j34/flg8tr97/hollywoodstudios/2055709f.jpg

And here’s Nana!! She was already there waiting for us.

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j34/flg8tr97/hollywoodstudios/dd6f4dd3.jpg

We met up with my Aunt Kath and heading on in. We were on a mission! 1st stop was the Rock ‘ n’ Roller Coaster! This would be the first time that we would be able to ride it, Gabriel was finally tall enough!!! :yay:

Of course we had to pose for some photopass pictures first.

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j34/flg8tr97/hollywoodstudios/d4cff476.jpg

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j34/flg8tr97/hollywoodstudios/bfe65c22.jpg

After the pictures we were off. This way!

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j34/flg8tr97/hollywoodstudios/87d773a1.jpg

Both my boys had a camera with them. This was Rhett’s view as I was pushing his stroller down sunset blvd.

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j34/flg8tr97/hollywoodstudios/e8dba136.jpg

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j34/flg8tr97/hollywoodstudios/6613584b.jpg

Turning the corner!

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j34/flg8tr97/hollywoodstudios/0cd515fc.jpg

And we are there!! Here is Gabriel’s attempt at playing the guitar.

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j34/flg8tr97/hollywoodstudios/035eec47.jpg

And here is where my sweet little boy turned into a pill! ;) I have been waiting and waiting and waiting to ride this with Gabriel. I have never rode it before either and Rhett wasn’t tall enough so the plan was for him to wait with Nana while we all rode it. Well, you know how plans go! :sad2:

Rhett didn’t want me to go. He didn't want me to ride it, he wanted me to stay with him. I mean he threw a complete fit over it! And I really didn’t feel like just leaving him there having a tantrum with my mom. So I had to stay back and sit with Rhett while they all went on it. And look at my little imp getting his way!

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j34/flg8tr97/hollywoodstudios/13d9bf99.jpg

Of course they all loved it! Gabriel came off jumping up and down screaming how awesome it was and wanted to go back on it again. I told him we would come back but now it was time to go on the Tower of Terror.

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j34/flg8tr97/hollywoodstudios/5f7d239c.jpg

http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j34/flg8tr97/hollywoodstudios/9fe5568a.jpg

This would be Rhett’s first time on TOT and I really wasn’t sure how it would go. I was afraid that he would get scared and want to get off. But he LOVED it! I mean loved it! We went back on it right away and then he wanted to go again! So Mark and Gabriel went to ride RNRC again while I took Rhett on Tower of Terror again! I had to stop at 3 times because I was starting to get a headache! I can only take that ride so many times in a day! After being dropped over and over again it was time for lunch.

We made our way over to Toy Story Mania to get fastpasses for later and then went to check in for lunch. Time for lunch at Sci Fi Dine In Theater! :thumbsup2

I just about died laughing reading about your son's reaction after you decided to stay with him instead of riding Rockin Roller Coaster! That sounds like how my grandson would act :lmao: It's funny how kids can play us - your boys are so adorable :goodvibes:

I love ToT too - it's my fav ride in HS. My DS24 didn't want to ride it on our last trip (it was his first trip to WDW) and he's not fond of rides that drop. He loves roller coasters but it took a ton of convincing to get him to ride and he loved it! Not sure if he would ride it over and over like you guys did - I think he'd get a headache too lol

Love your pics! esp the one of ToT - very interesting concept!

:lmao: you know what.. I barely noticed that the pool wasn't crowded! I guess I am spoiled to the crowds because we usually go when its not crowded! Well.. that's not entirely true. We do go for a few days in the summer.. but we know what we are getting into and only go for a few days. Our longer 6-8 day trips are done in the fall/winter!

I'm glad you all got to enjoy ToT. I conquered R-N-R for the first time in October, but I don't think I'll ever try ToT. I loathe and despise drops, so ToT and Splash Mountain are on my "nuh=uh, never gonna do it" list. :lmao:

How cool to see it REALLY through his eyes and have his perspective as you make your way through the parks! I had to laugh at the picture of him after he kept you off of RNRC. I can totally see my DS pulling that on me in the future! I also love that he loved TOT so much!! It's such a fun ride, but it's getting through all the "scary" stuff that is the hardest thing with little kids. My sister had to cover her eyes all the way until the drop when she was little. :rotfl:
