Well I think I finally worked my last shift for work last night, I will find out tonight whether we will be open tomorrow or not.

I have been putting resumes out and everything, but have yet to hear back from anyone. I am a little anxious, but I will get through it. The main thing I am worried about is telling them "hey I would love to work for you, but by the way I need 12 days off at the end of November to go to a convention."

So keep me in your thoughts.

Stranger things have happened, Patrick! I just got a new job, myself. Don't start till Oct. 21st and my new boss said no problem about Dis Con!! I was floored, to say the least. So, it CAN happen and I will be praying that you are safely employed and able to join us in Dec. Fingers crossed, too.

I am still coming to DIS=Con, I just didn't want to have to turn down a job to go.

I am sure that money will be tight, and I do have a few weeks of vacation pay coming to me. Plus I will be able to receive unemployment for a little while if I can not find another job quickly.

You WILL find an even better job. I am hearing from friends that have changed job recently that employers are being receptive to the fact that people have pre planned vacations and that they are letting them take their trips.


One of my best friends relocated and got a new job offer right before her vacation, they told her ok, take you vacation and come to work when you get back. She did and is at work now and really likes her new job.
