So many things to do, and so many things to see at WDW. Let's see...we've got the 2002 DIS-CONvention-II events listed. And Barb is doing a great job of listing all the DIS mini-meets.
But there are still a lot of things that I want to see. A lot of the small things that I might not think about while I'm there.
First, I need dates and times that all the parks will open and close, parade times, fireworks times, and so on.
I tried the DIS, but they aren't up yet. I do like the fact that you can go there and put in the dates that you will be there, or to see the DIS December month page(based on last year).. Click here to see this DIS page(based on last year). (http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/hours.htm)
WDW has a similar set-up as the DIS. Click here to put in your WDW dates page. (http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/waltdisneyworld/parksandmore/parkevents/parkeventrootindex?id=ParkEventsRoot) Click here to see WDW December month page. (http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/waltdisneyworld/parksandmore/parkhours/parkhoursindex?id=SEAllParksLocationCrit&date=122002) But I don't like this page because you have to click on each day for more information instead of having it all on one page.
Themeparks has a nice one page calendar of all the park times, with the times. And at the bottom of the page the dates and times of all the parades and fireworks,etc.. Click here to see December's page. (http://www.themeparks.com/wdw/calendar/december.htm)
Wdisneyw has a December calendar, too. Click here to see December month page. (http://www.wdisneyw.co.uk/dec.html)
Steve Soares has a great site where he updates the times every Sunday for information that you would find in the WDW Guidemaps that WDW hands out at their themeparks.
I usually bring some WDW Guidemaps home with me. And when I first check in to a WDW Resort, I usually ask for four themepark Guidemaps(MK, EPCOT, MGM, & AK). I'll also ask for a DownTownDisney, MarketPlace, Pleasure Island Guidemap for all the times. And don't forget the Boardwalk Guidemap and finally the WDW Update brochure.
Times change every week, sometimes. But I can go to Steve Soares' (http://pages.prodigy.net/stevesoares)weekly updated entertaiment site to see what time the smaller shows, or bands, or characters appear. He even has links for more information. There is so much that I haven't seen at WDW.
I think that I'll go to the Magic Kingdom Guidemap (http://pages.prodigy.net/stevesoares/mk/mk.htm)to see when the flag retreat or The Dapper Dan's Barber Shop singers or Mayor Weaver will be held today, or maybe look at some other out of the way WDW stuff that I've never taken the time to see...lol.
Or I could go to the EPCOT Guidemap (http://pages.prodigy.net/stevesoares/EPCOT.htm) to see what times they have for the China acrobats, USA singers, UK British Invasion, ToD, or Illuminations, etc..
Or I could go to MGM Guidemap (http://pages.prodigy.net/stevesoares/st/st.htm)and see what's up with the Huncback show(whoops, no more) or Fantasmic times.
Or I could go to Animal Kingdom Guidemap (http://pages.prodigy.net/stevesoares/ak/ak.htm) and see what time everything is showing, like the Lion King or where that "Devine" character is...lol.
Maybe if you look at this a week before you go to WDW, you can fine tune your itinerary for DIS-CON-II.(weekly updated usually every Sunday.)
I hope that this helps some newbies with their "times" to do everything.
