Ah, my title. If you follow along with this TR, it will be filled with kid-isms. A definition if you will:
kid-ism: A statement a child makes at a random time. At times insightful and even philosophical. Many times, more of a  moment.
This trip was full of them. Most of them from Joaquin, my 3 year old nephew. He was a virtual fountain of them.
This trip was to celebrate the 40th wedding anniversary of my parents. If you followed our PTR, thanks for joining!
I'm going to get started now. Here we go!

Sorry, but the dork in me can't get Mario yelling "Here we go!" in Super Mario Sunshine out of my head now. :lmao:
I didn't sleep well the night before, true to form. I had actually anticipated sleeping later that morning, since our flight didn't leave until 12:30pm. Silly me.
I woke up at 6am. "I'm too excited to sleep!" That's what I kept thinking. So, I just got up and hopped in the shower. I wanted to look somewhat presentable.
We got our things together and headed over to say our goodbyes to my Grandma before we left. Then it was on our way by about 8am to pick up my brother Jason and my nephew Joaquin. Chris, Sara, and Riley were driving down and wouldn't be there until the following day.
We stopped by CVS so I could pick up my prescription before we left. Asthma. Hate it, but can't be without the stuff. We expected more traffic this time of day, but there really wasn't any. We got to Jason's at about 8:40am. He was actually ready. Well surprise, surprise, surprise (imagine the Church Lady from SNL).
We loaded the car and were on our way in no time.
Look at all the luggage. Fortunately we have an Armada.
http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/tt359/daniellevoss/WDW%20July%202011/DSCN0078.jpg
The boys were pretty excited.
http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/tt359/daniellevoss/WDW%20July%202011/DSCN0080.jpg
Our new mascot, Wicket was along for the ride. Like his Yeti predecessor, he's pretty naughty, but not quite as bad. He hopped up in the front seat because he wanted to ride with mom.
http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/tt359/daniellevoss/WDW%20July%202011/DSCN0081.jpg
I had to grab him and tell him that while we were in the car, he had to be properly restrained.
http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/tt359/daniellevoss/WDW%20July%202011/DSCN0082.jpg
Our entire car ride consisted of Joaquin talking about the fact that we were riding on a plane, and that he was going to see Mickey.
We made it to the airport by about 9:45am, which was a bit earier then we had planned. No biggie, we figured we would just eat a leisurely breakfast at the airport. I had checked us in the night before and we got boarding A25 - A29. Not bad. All we had to do was drop off the luggage.
Fortunately, all our bags were underweight by a lot, so we had no worries. Must be because I opted to carry Wicket with me and Jason didn't pack Joaquin.......:rolleyes1
I have complained about Milwaukee Airport's food selection before. Why would this time be any different? They have none. So there is this little restaurant before going through security that we had gotten food from before that was decent. Not so much anymore. Well, actually, it sucked.
They had no kids meals.
Poor Jason wanted a sandwich, but he was shut down. Hard. So instead, he walked to Quiznos, grabbed a sandwich, and ate it at the table with us.
Joaquin was looking very intently at his menu.
http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/tt359/daniellevoss/WDW%20July%202011/DSCN0083.jpg
Putting some thought into it.
http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/tt359/daniellevoss/WDW%20July%202011/DSCN0085.jpg
And finally making a decision.
http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/tt359/daniellevoss/WDW%20July%202011/DSCN0084.jpg
Pancakes it is.
http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/tt359/daniellevoss/WDW%20July%202011/DSCN0086.jpg
This was all I ate of my breakfast. Ugh. Definitely not Disney food. Maybe I was building it up too much in my mind. Thinking about the wonderful Disney food and all the things I would soon be eating.
http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/tt359/daniellevoss/WDW%20July%202011/DSCN0087.jpg
The toast was good though. But I guess you can't really ruin toast unless you burn it......
After breakfast, we headed through security. Everyone went through the scanners except for Joaquin and mom. They lucked out because he was a little one. Little rat.
And I got patted down.
Apparently, the zippers on my jeans pockets triggered something saying I needed to be pat down. I mean I know I look crazy, but really......
So, after I felt a little violated, on top of it, Joaquin's backpack with his Leapster started a five alarm drill. So they searched it, all the while telling me not to touch anything. Okay GI Jane, I wasn't planning on touching anything, but now I'm DEFINITELY not going to.
So they pull out the pack of batteries we have, and they use that wipey thing (see me wow you with my knowledge!), and wiped them down. Then sent the bag through again.
GI Jane then stood there looking at me. I said, can I take it now. She said "duh!". Not really, but you get the gist. Well, you're the one that told me not to touch anything! I wasn't touching anything!
Finally, we made it to our gate. Joaquin watched our plane come in.
http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/tt359/daniellevoss/WDW%20July%202011/DSCN0088.jpg
And then got bored already. He took my neck pillow and laid down.
http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/tt359/daniellevoss/WDW%20July%202011/DSCN0092.jpg
We all made our potty breaks and then boarded the plane. And we sat......and sat........and sat.......and sat........
Joaquin took it like a champ. Although you notice, it is hard to photograph a moving target.
http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/tt359/daniellevoss/WDW%20July%202011/DSCN0094.jpg
Then Joaquin wanted to take some photos, likening himself a little Ansel Adams. And of course he had a beautiful subject!
http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/tt359/daniellevoss/WDW%20July%202011/DSCN0097.jpg
Woah Joaquin, slow down with the camera.
http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/tt359/daniellevoss/WDW%20July%202011/DSCN0098.jpg
http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/tt359/daniellevoss/WDW%20July%202011/DSCN0099.jpg
A better one at least.
http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/tt359/daniellevoss/WDW%20July%202011/DSCN0100.jpg
Um, catching flies?
http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/tt359/daniellevoss/WDW%20July%202011/DSCN0101.jpg
Well then Wicket just felt left out, so he hopped in Joaquin's lap. And kind of got throttled. Served him right for being a booger if you ask me...
http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/tt359/daniellevoss/WDW%20July%202011/DSCN0103.jpg
http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/tt359/daniellevoss/WDW%20July%202011/DSCN0104.jpg
http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/tt359/daniellevoss/WDW%20July%202011/DSCN0108.jpg
But I saved him.
http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/tt359/daniellevoss/WDW%20July%202011/DSCN0110.jpg
Up next:
Are we ever going to leave?!

Totally understand why you can't sleep when you are going to Disney. It's the reason why I always pick the first flight in the morning to leave to Disney. At least you had some things to do before getting to the airport. :thumbsup2
Oooo... I guess you have a new little friend to come on the road. I'm going to miss Yeti, but Wicket will suffice. I mean... he seems a bit more tame. (: But where's the fun in that? Hahahahaha
Sorry about your food trouble at the airport. I'm so glad the airports I've been to have had good food selections. Then, you have that whole security befuddle. They must be REALLY tough (or paranoid) there. I mean, I had electronics with me and they never had a whole five alarm drill. That just seems ridiculous to me :sad2:
Wow, your nephew is a big ball of Energy. He seems to be moving in all those photos. And he looks a lot like your brother, could that mean anything... ;) He seemed to enjoy playing with Wicket, so cute.
I just noticed that you changed your hair color and style a bit. Suits you nicely (:

Thanks! This installment is officially the last time you will see my hair looking decent. The weather was just too humid to manage the hair. I tried and failed miserably a few times.
I'm trying to figure the best way to fill in kid-isms. I think at the end of every day I will post the thoughts from that day.
Joaquin is adorable! Can't wait to see if he loved Disney.

So we're sitting on the runway, with Jason wondering if we're ever going to take off....
http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/tt359/daniellevoss/WDW%20July%202011/DSCN0109.jpg
And then thankfully, this ends up happening.
http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/tt359/daniellevoss/WDW%20July%202011/DSCN0114.jpg
Finally it was time for us to take off. We were about 30 minutes behind our normal departure time at that point. We were taking off in no time, and all during takeoff, Joaquin was.....
http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/tt359/daniellevoss/WDW%20July%202011/DSCN0115.jpg
We settled ourselves in and started reading and listening to music when we got the okay to turn on our electronics. We passed over Chicago and Jason got some pretty good shots.
http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/tt359/daniellevoss/WDW%20July%202011/DSCN0119.jpg
http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/tt359/daniellevoss/WDW%20July%202011/DSCN0117.jpg
I <3 my city.
Then Joaquin woke up. A note for you guys to remember during this TR is that the kids call me TeeTee. I don't like Aunt or anything like that, so this works for me.
"Tee tee, can I pway with my Weapster?"
I said sure.
He was very intent playing his Cars game. Lightning McQueen is his favorite character ever.
http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/tt359/daniellevoss/WDW%20July%202011/DSCN0124.jpg
"You lookin' at me?"
http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/tt359/daniellevoss/WDW%20July%202011/DSCN0122.jpg
Before we knew it, it was time to land. The flight went really well, and Joaquin is so well behaved. Jason put Joaquin next to the window to watch the landing.
http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/tt359/daniellevoss/WDW%20July%202011/DSCN0125.jpg
He was so excited about it, he proceeds to turn to Jason and I and say:
"We don't want to cwash into those buildings, wight?"
In the loudest voice you could ever imagine. Nice Joaquin, very nice. Just say what everyone else is thinking, but refuse to say. Nice going kiddo.
We landed and we were delayed another 15 minutes because there was no gate available for us to taxi to.
We finally deplane. Joaquin's stroller is waiting for us.......but his car seat is not.
That's hot.
Jason says to go ahead and he waits to see what's going on. We wait, and wait, and wait, and wait.
Jason finally emerges 10 minutes later with the car seat. Apparently, it was in the front of the plane the whole time, yet the crew had no idea. Thanks everyone.
So now we're thinking, let's send dad to get the car and we'll all wait for the baggage. Kill two birds with one stone, right? Foiled again! Dad got the car in no time. We got the luggage.........well, let's just say it took FOREVER! Ever seen the movie the Sandlot? Yeah, say FOREVER like that, and you'll get what I'm saying.
Dad actually got the car, put the carry ons in it, and came back to baggage, and it still hadn't arrived! Finally it all came. It was time to get out of there. We had a Dodge Caravan. Here is our picture.
http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/tt359/daniellevoss/WDW%20July%202011/DSCN0127.jpg
So we get moving, and the air control to the back of the van is locked. There was no easy way to unlock it. Meaning, unlike my parents Armada, there was no button that simply said "rear control." So mom had to bust out the instruction manual. She finally figured out how to unlock it.
The air conditioning was broken in the back. :scared1:
Wait. You're telling me that we're in Orlando, in the middle of July, and the air conditioning in the back of the minivan is broken?
By this point, we were already 20 minutes away from the rental center. There was no turning back now.
To top it off, there was traffic. Really bad traffic for some reason. I'm watching the lock, because we need to get to Orlando Fun Tickets to get Jason's and Joaquin's tickets so we can go to the Magic Kingdom tonight. And they close at 7:30pm.
So how did Joaquin keep us entertained throughout this ordeal?
With the gum on the bottom of his shoe.

http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/tt359/daniellevoss/WDW%20July%202011/DSCN0131.jpg
I know, gross. But what are you going to do when a three year old does that? Then the ding dong says to Jason to get it off of his hand. Jason just looks at him and says that he was the dee dee dee that touched it to begin with.
We made it to Orlando Fun Tickets by 7:10pm. Thank goodness we made it in time. Jason, Joaquin, and I stayed in the car while mom and dad ran in to get the tickets we had ordered through my corporate website. Love discounts!
They made it out in no time, and we were FINALLY on our way into WDW.
Now, this is why I adore my nephew. Most kids at this point would be having a meltdown. Not Joaquin. He just sat there and chatted it up with us, and took it like a champ. We had been traveling already for quite some time, and he was patient as ever.
We also needed to pick up Dad's annual pass. Since we were near Downtown, Dad wanted to stop there.
My dad. He's a funny guy. He doesn't like doing anything by himself. So we pull into the parking lot at the Marketplace. Mind you, there are no parking spaces. Instead of running in by himself, he looks at my mom all pathetic, because you know. Men. They don't want to do things alone. So mom sighs and gets out of the car with him, leaving me illegally parked at the Marketplace. I got out of the car and sat in the drivers seat waiting.
I have to admit, I panicked. I didn't want the Disney popo to think that I was doing something wrong. So I see Disney popo on bikes, riding through. And I panic and move the car. :scared1:
I wanted them to think I was looking for a space, you know. And then lo and behold, the only big of pixie dust so far.
I FOUND A PARKING SPACE!
I pulled in and we waited. Seems to be a theme of our trip already.
I got out of the car, because I wanted mom and dad to know where we parked. Finally they came out.
We were on our way to POP!
Bet you thought that would never happen.
We go to the resort and we all went in. Joaquin really needed to get out of the car at this point. They got us two rooms right next to each other in the 90's section. Pretty far away, but I didn't care. It was just one night. We were on the third floor, which mom wasn't too thrilled about, but she dealt with it.
Then Jason not being prepared struck. Mom, dad, and I had all packed an overnight bag, so that was all we needed at POP. All we needed from our suitcase was cosmetics, which was easy to find. Jason.....did nothing of the sort.
So we pull the car over, and I swear, it took him FOREVER to find anything in the suitcase. He should have just pulled out the suitcases, but making something easy is not in Jason's repertoire. I think it took him like 20 minutes. The whole time, my mom is sending me smoke signals from the building wondering when we're going to be done.
We finally got in the room. Again, you really felt like that was never going to happen, didn't you?

We were all so hungry at this point, I was ready to eat Wicket. I just didn't think that would taste too good.
So we packed it off to Everything POP. I squeeled with joy a little bit, because this is my favorite food court. I gave Jason my order and took Joaquin to find a seat.
He saved Wicket from my hunger and wanted to play.

It worked out very well for us. He is a very patient guy, and only had a few "moments" on this trip.
I love the chicken penne alfredo at POP! My dad loves the fried chicken too.

Oh no at the air conditioning being broken in the van - that must have been hard going esp with it being soo hot.

I was grateful that he was because it could have gone a lot worse then it did.
Jason loves the window seat so I give him the responsibility off taking those kinds of pictures when we fly.
The AC was so annoying. My mom was frustrated that my dad didn't turn around and ask for a different car. I was the one that suffered the.most though because I was all the way in the back.
You are going to love the POP food court. They have so much to choose from.

I didn't want to leave anyone hanging any longer before we got to a park (finally), so I figured I would update here.
The Magic Kingdom had magic hours until 3am on this day. Now, with a 3 year old, there was no way we would stay out that late, but we figured we would at least go and have a little bit of fun. We had no morning plans, since the rest of the group was arriving at about 10:30am.
And also because Joaquin kept on saying "now we're going to a park, wight?"
Well, how could you resist that?
We headed out to the bus stop and the Magic Kingdom bus pulled up in about 2 minutes. It's my favorite thing about POP. Speedy bus service. Not so much about deluxe resorts. Snaily bus service.
We hop on the bus and Joaquin proceeds to play with Wicket. I didn't catch this exchange, because I didn't want to blind people with the flash of the camera. He's holding Wicket, and hovers him over the map, talking in a Wicket-esque voice, "can I read the map?", "where are we going to go?" You get the picture. Totally cute.
We get to the park and Wishes is going on strong. I was kind of irritated, because I did not plan this well. We had the fireworks dessert party planned for Sunday. Oh well. Joaquin's face was priceless.

Gotta love kids and fireworks.
I'm going to have a small rant here. I have been a traveler both without a stroller (because I have no kids), and with a stroller. People without strollers complain about the people with, people with strollers complain about people without strollers. Yackity smackity, blah blah.
So here's the story from the view of someone who has been on both sides. It's not the stroller or the lack of stroller. It's the dingaling who is driving the stroller or walking.
Some people have no sense of what is going on, they don't care about people around them, they don't pay attention, they just don't care. These are the people that are the problem. I was both hit by strollers and I was run over by people without strollers on this trip.
Why don't we just leave it at some people are just rude?
Okay, sorry.
I brought this up because Main Street was packed during Wishes. And here I am with the stroller trying to navigate through a sea of people who just don't care about anybody but themselves. I'm not perfect, but dangit, why do I always have to be the person that moves?
I finally made it into Tomorrowland unscathed. Our mission was simple. You know what's coming.
http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/tt359/daniellevoss/WDW%20July%202011/DSCN0145.jpg
I asked Joaquin to tell me how he felt about the matter.
http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/tt359/daniellevoss/WDW%20July%202011/DSCN0144.jpg
http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/tt359/daniellevoss/WDW%20July%202011/DSCN0147.jpg
It was during this line that the most hilarious thing happens. Joaquin is a hugger. He hugs everyone. So we're standing in line, minding our own business, and full on hugs the guy in front of us. He clearly thought it was Jason, because they were wearing similar shorts.
Joaquin is short. So I don't think this guy was too thrilled about being hugged full on by his junk. His face was priceless. The guy was all :scared1:.
I kept trying to get Joaquin's attention, and it wasn't until Jason said something that Joaquin looks at Jason.
Looks at the guy.
Looks at Jason.
Looks at the guy.
And proceeds to run for his life. :rolleyes1
The poor guy didn't know what hit him, but I think it gave his girlfriend a real idea about how he feels about kids. He couldn't have looked more repelled by the fact that he just got hugged by a toddler. Jason joked that maybe his girlfriend would be rethinking their relationship shortly. :rotfl:
So if you're ever in WDW at the same time we're there, look out for Joaquin.:hug::hug::hug:
So we finished. And would anyone ever doubt....
I won.
http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/tt359/daniellevoss/WDW%20July%202011/DSCN0149.jpg
Not my best score, but I'll just say I was tired from the long travel day.
I took some redneck ride photos. Don't you just love that all you see is Joaquin's little head?
http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/tt359/daniellevoss/WDW%20July%202011/DSCN0150.jpg
I tried to look very intent.
http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/tt359/daniellevoss/WDW%20July%202011/DSCN0151.jpg
We threw Joaquin in with Zurg after that. We figured he needed to learn to control himself after his hugging incident.
http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/tt359/daniellevoss/WDW%20July%202011/DSCN0155.jpg
Then it was off to.
http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/tt359/daniellevoss/WDW%20July%202011/DSCN0157.jpg
I have a picture of mom and dad on this, but she would injure me if I posted it, so I won't.
So Joaquin was fascinated by the fact that he heard Mickey on the Peoplemover. And this is where the title of the trip report came from.
Joaquin: Is that Mickey?
Me: Yup, it's Mickey.
Joaquin: I don't think we can see Mickey right now, because he's asweep.
Me: Well, we can.....
Joaquin: Shhhh!!!!
Me: Huh.....
Joaquin: Shhh! Be quiet! Mickey's twying to sweep!
Me: Oh.
Joaquin: Shhhhh!
After we finished the rest of our ride in silence, we decided to head over to Winnie the Pooh. Joaquin liked the interactive queue very much.

He really liked the honey walls too, but who wouldn't?
While in line for this, the adults were all losing steam. Joaquin, not so much, but we didn't want to push it.
We made it back to the hotel, and while Jason was in the washroom, I tried to put Joaquin to bed. He was wired for sound though, but he laid down very nicely. And the best part of my day occurred at this moment.
Joaquin: TeeTee?
Me: Yes sweetie?
Joaquin: You're the best.......

I just have to post that you are doing a fantastic job with the trip report. You are right about Joaquin he is a fantastic traveler for sure. He was so excited to get to WDW and to see Mickey he had more energy than we did after our long travel day. Wow! That seemed like a long travel day. Thank goodness you had some pixie dust to carry you along when the Disney police were about to come riding through. It sounded like you were at the breaking point. And then you were about to eat Poor Wicket, not even knee deep in this TR. I'm guessing the POP food court made up for it! (:
Then, you had Magic Kingdom! Joaquin's face during the Fireworks is just adorable. I love watching toddlers just stare mindlessly at Fireworks. And sorry about the whole thing with the stroller. It's not exactly easy to navigate those things sometimes especially in a thick crowd. Good thing you got through to Tomorrowland before it got real ugly.
LOL @ the Joaquin hugging story. I'm not sure who to feel bad for more the guy or Joaquin. I mean, Joaquin must've been terrified noticing he hugged a stranger and the guy, just minding his own business getting attacked by the kid, but seriously, the kid made an honest mistake and he just glares at him. So, I feel bad for Joaquin more :thumbsup2 And yeah, totally wondering how the girl feels about the guy now.
Once again, you amaze me with your ability to get a high score on Buzz Lightyear. I'm pretty sure that ride just hates me and is making sure that I can never get a decently high score :sad2:

I know, it would have been a tragedy losing Wicket so early on, wouldn't it? The POP food court was definitely what saved him there.
This felt like the longest travel day ever. I think the only time I've had one longer is when we've driven. That tells you something.

What a long day and Joaquin was amazing still having a grand ole time at night in the Magic Kingdom. He is too cute. Love the Kid-isms but the last one is special. You'll always remember that one.
I did not realize the Pop food court was so good. We stayed there in 2009 but never ate there except for breakfast which was nothing special. If we ever stay there again I'll have to give it a try.
:scared1: on the no AC in the back. I think my family may have staged a revolt on me if I had that happen. Hopefully the front AC was strong enough to reach to the back.
Wicket seems a little bit better behaved than the Yeti so far. I think the fear of being eaten may have put him in line. :)

I think what I like about POP is the fact that there are so many options to pick from. I'm used to staying at DVC, and their counter service selections are minimal at best. I like variety, that's for sure.

sounds like you had a great first day at Disney!! Sorry about the whole car drama and waiting for the bags drama :( My friend was here a few weeks ago and we waited forever for her small duffle bag that they made her check since it didn't fit by the time she got on the plane :( But you made it and got the tickets and all is good now!!

Nothing will ruin my Disney trip, you know?
For all the times I've been there, this was really the only time that it was a problem, so I have no complaints in general.
But, as you said, in the end we made it, had tickets, and got into a park, so it all worked out.

So I did something. :goodvibes
So, you know that this trip was to celebrate my parents 40th wedding anniversary. Well, their actual anniversary is on August 7th. So, their plan had been to have a weekend to themselves and head somewhere local for their actual anniversary.
Well, my dad's motorcycle needed some MAJOR repairs to it. Now, just so you understand, this is my dad's baby. It must be repaired and maintained. :rotfl:
So, the repairs were done, and were significantly more than they had anticipated. So this put a damper on their plans to get out of town on their anniversary.
So I started looking. I checked for hotels in locations that are driving distance from us. Nicer places that you could spend time in, since it was their getaway. I wanted to surprise them since they were going to be cancelling.
And then I started thinking. Two nights at these resorts were pretty costly. The price of flights is not much more than that.......
So I booked them flights to Orlando for a Disney weekend from August 31st to September 4th.
It's a low cost alternative for them when you think about it. I paid for the flights. I called DVC and was able to get them a room on points at OKW for the four nights.
Much better than a weekend away locally, right? :cool2:
I'm going to demand my mom take photos and write a TR for this. :dance3:

They've stayed at OKW once before and really enjoyed it. I was hoping for the Boardwalk, only because they have not stayed there for more than one night. But it wasn't available for all four of the nights. :confused3

(P.S. The link in your siggy wasn't working for me, I had to find you the old fashioned way, which really is just too much work!)
I totally agree that the Milwaukee airport is lacking in palatable food choices. The D concourse is much much better than the C, but neither are worth writing home about.
At least we have a recombobulation center
I just hate the hurry up and wait of travel days, glad you made it through and can enjoy your trip!
Your nephew is ADORABLE!! Too funny about him hugging the wrong guy. Most Dads at Disney, it wouldn't even phase them, of course he's got to find a childless guy to hug :rotfl:
For me, there is nothing better than a ride on the TTA the first night! It's so Disney!
Yay for booking your parents for their anniversary! It is so strange that Disney becomes a low-cost option, but with cheap flights, DVC and Annual passes, it really is! We have run into that often.

I woke up around 8am this morning. I had hoped to sleep a little longer, but it just wasn't in the cards for me. Jason and Joaquin were still sound asleep at that time. I figured I would be nice (everyone say awwwww), and let them sleep a little longer. So, I texted Mom to see if she was up.
True to form, she was. I left a note and hopped next door to hang out for a while. I wasn't over there too long though before Jason called. Jason apparently forgot to grab chonies for Joaquin out of the luggage in the car, so I needed to run down and get some.
When mom and I got back, Joaquin was just coming out of the bathtub so fresh and so clean. He was very happy to see this.
Little side note. Joaquin sneezes in a very exaggerated manner. I now know where he gets this from. Just watch Captain Hook sneeze on Jake and the Neverland Pirates. Yup. That's how Joaquin sneezes.
So he sneezes and I start cracking up, because I'm afraid he's going to wake up the world. Fortunately, it wasn't that early.
We were ready to go by about 9:45am. We decided to head straight over to the Beach Club. We figured we would chill out while waiting for Chris, Sara, and Riley to arrive for our lunch at Beaches and Cream. We all grabbed something from the Beach Club marketplace to drink while we waited for them to text that they had gotten there.

Haha @ Joaquin's exaggerated sneezing. I think I can relate this to some people I know, but I won't elaborate as it is not a very pretty subject to talk about. So let's move on shall we...
Awwww... the Beach Club looks so nice, I totally want to stay there someday or anywhere on the BoardWalk for that matter :teeth:
Beaches n' Cream looks so nice! I've heard so many good things about it and it seems to haunt me. The regular lunch food looks good and the Ice Cream looks even better. I like how it looks to have a bubbly candy shop feel to it, something to keep myself eating the food. Any Kitchen Sinks while you were there?
And poor Wicket... he seemed to have been pulled in many directions throughout this meal and then he ends up on the floor holding the balloon. Poor little guy :( But at least he behaved :thumbsup2

Can't wait to read more! :mickeyjum
The Boardwalk area is definitely one of my favorites. I love staying in that area.
Beaches and Cream is awesome and the atmosphere is very 50's soda shop. There was one kitchen sink when we were there. The kids were all excited when the lights started flickering for it.
I realize I did abuse poor Wicket at this meal. But I made it up to him later in the week when I took him home to Endor.

Joaquin took his map reading responsibilities very seriously. But it's a good thing we didn't let him guide us, because goodness knew where we would have ended up!

Wicket does prove to be a little better behaved, but marginally....
Good choice changing his name to Chubb Chubb!
Joaquin is a really good little boy. Only has a few moments of overall crabbiness.
Yes, the No Way Jose is really as big as it looks. Roughly the size of my head I would say. :scared1:

Oh my gosh, I love your nephew's cheeks! Haha, and your Ewok mascot!
Oy, your screening in the airport makes me NOT look forward to flying for our Disneymoon. Those security people sounded a little power hungry. Or maybe they were just having a bad day.
I love Joaquin's furrowed brow as he plays his Cars game!
I thought the thing about your dad not being able to do anything on his own was funny. For whatever reason, when my mom's at home (or if it's just my dad and me at home), he seems to forget how to use a microwave, and we have to do it for him. But when he's by himself, he's never had a problem!
I totally agree about the stroller issue. It's the person pushing it! And I know that in crowded situations or in excited situations, things happen. I know they might accidentally push a stroller into a person or someone might accidentally step in front of the stroller's path. But can't people just say sorry and move on? It doesn't have to be such a big to do.
AWWWWW, so cute that Joaquin hugged that stranger!!!
I would LOVE to share a No Way Jose with Howard, but alas, we are both lactose intolerant! I can have some ice cream, but it can also get me really sick and nauseous. I just want to be there at Beaches and Cream because of the atmosphere. It looks like ice cream would taste SO much better there!

Joaquin's cheeks are pretty fabulous, I must say. Ha ha.
I think the security lady was just having a bad day or something. Who knows. Normally everything at Milwaukee airport is easy as pie, but this time, not so much.
My dad definitely has that sickness. He is perfectly capable of doing things when he's alone, but get him with anyone else and he's suddenly lost his ability to do anything.
I feel so bad that you guys are lactose intolerant, only because you miss out on Beaches and Cream! You're totally right, ice cream just tastes better there. :cloud9:

I left you guys off just having finished our lunch at Beaches and Cream. At this point, we all needed to be rolled out of the restaurant if we had any hope of getting to Bay Lake Tower to check in. It was around 12:30pm when we left. As we were all walking out to the car, Joaquin asks me:
"Are Wiley and Sawa coming?"
This is a theme for the trip. He could care less about the rest of us, was only ever curious if Riley and Sara were going to be there. Whatev dude. :lmao:
We got into our respective cars and were on our way. Now, I haven't been to the Contemporary in a while (to stay), so we got kind of confused as we were pulling into the parking area. There were markings on the ground that indicated that the lot used to be a valet lot. Well, we see that stuff on the ground, and we all think we're in a valet lot. So he leaves......but there's no where else to go. So we pull back in and follow the signs again. Sure enough, it's not a valet lot, but the spaces are marked. How weird is that?
Anywho, we headed into the resort to check in. The CM that worked at the front desk was really funny and did impressions of Mickey and Goofy for the kids. They thought he was so much fun. Of course, the kids got stickers from the CM's. And what does Joaquin do with his?
http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/tt359/daniellevoss/WDW%20July%202011/DSCN0165.jpg
And it was at this point that I discovered my new touch screen camera apparently takes pictures when you tap the screen!
http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/tt359/daniellevoss/WDW%20July%202011/DSCN0166.jpg
Aren't my feet beautiful?!
http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/tt359/daniellevoss/WDW%20July%202011/DSCN0167.jpg
Then of course, Joaquin just had to get in on the fun of taking pictures. Notice the short angle.
http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/tt359/daniellevoss/WDW%20July%202011/DSCN0168.jpg
http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/tt359/daniellevoss/WDW%20July%202011/DSCN0169.jpg
http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/tt359/daniellevoss/WDW%20July%202011/DSCN0170.jpg
So after a fairly long process at the front desk, we found out that one of the rooms was ready, but the other two were not. That was fine with us. It was Jason's, Joaquin's and my room that was ready. We figured that the best thing would be to drop all of the luggage off in our room before we decided to head out for the rest of the day. We were fortunate enough to have gotten rooms all on the same floor.
So now this trend of "Wiley and Sawa" continues. Note who Joaquin is now walking with.

I do have to say though, they looked pretty darn cute.
We drove over the Bay Lake Tower and got out all of our luggage, parked the cars and headed in. Now, Jason and I lucked out in one way, but not in another.
Crappy part: We got an accessible room again. We seem to have this trend going on, because remember, we got an accessible room in February. I just didn't prefer the layout of the room because of it.
Good part:

Let's just say mom was not the happiest.
I shoved Jason in the room with the camera then, because I knew that if I didn't get pictures now, I would never get them. Tornado Jason and Hurricane Joaquin would soon descend on the room, and there is NO way I was taking a picture of that!

YAY! Off to Bay Lake Tower! I don't have a license and have never heard of a valet lot (though I know what a valet is), I'll just chime in and agree with you on the fact it is weird to have valet markings in a regular parking lot (which does sound weird in itself) Hahaha Moving on...

You're so cute about the valet thing. They normally block off a section of a parking lot for valet parking only. In addition to being blocked off, spaces are marked, because the valet has to know where to get the car when they pick it up. So the markings were there, which was strange. It must have been their valet lot before, and then they opened it up for regular parking.
I know about Joaquin wanting "Wiley and Sawa". I felt so deprived. :sad1:

Back at Beaches and Cream, the food looks awesome. I really need to get the family there one trip but I am not sure we could eat all that food and then have the family eat all that ice cream without bursting. I can see why Wicket passed out. :)

You have to plan your eating at Beaches and Cream so carefully. Always share all of the desserts because there is no way that you'll be able to eat it all yourself.
Joaquin and Riley were pretty much like that for the entire trip. It was very cute. We were a little worried at first, because Joaquin is a little bit crazy and Riley is very timid. But it worked out. Kind of like yin and yang I guess. ;)
I was very surprised at our view. Now the caveat is that I would never PAY for the view, but if Disney just wants to give it to me, then I'm not going to say no.

I did the same thing the first time I ordered one. On our February trip, Jason and I ordered a sundae each....definitely learned my lesson there. I had no idea.
I agree that it is very small. The tables aren't exactly my favorite, but we had too many people for a booth. With the five that were at my table, it was kind of a struggle to fit all of the food on it.
We were able to enjoy the fireworks, but the only issue that I had is that the placement of the fireworks is off. So when you're in the Magic Kingdom, they're behind the castle, right? Now when you saw it from my balcony. It looked a little funny. But that's only a minor complaint. ;)

We left off checking in at Bay Lake Tower. After we got settled into the one room and all freshened up a little bit, we headed over to the Magic Kingdom. We did take the monorail, because it was so stinkin’ hot outside already!
First stop was getting Chris and Sara their passes by turning in their vouchers. We waited outside Guest Relations while they took care of it. Take note of Joaquin with the fan. This was his absolute favorite thing the entire trip. We had several, and he was always asking someone “can I have a fan?”

http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/tt359/daniellevoss/WDW%20July%202011/DSCN0183.jpg
Our first mission after getting their tickets was to see Mickey. You see, Joaquin had already asked at this point “Mickey isn’t still sweeping, wight?”
Well, now we have to go see Mickey! So we get in line and got to see the new meet and greet. I thought it was pretty cool. The funny thing is, we get in the one room, and Jason, Chris, and I are talking about the fact that it’s pretty cool that there are several rooms and different Mickeys. Very efficient. Then, the CM shushes us really loudly. We weren’t talking loud, but apparently we were revealing Disney state secrets!

http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/tt359/daniellevoss/WDW%20July%202011/DSCN1364.jpg
The kiddos were very excited to see Mickey and Minnie. I was glad that we started there.
When we left there, the parade was going on. We paused for a few moments to watch before moving on.
http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/tt359/daniellevoss/WDW%20July%202011/DSCN1365.jpg
Riley really wanted to ride Dumbo. It’s one of her favorites, so we headed into Fantasyland to see what the wait time was. It wasn’t too bad, so everyone headed in except for Dad and Chris. They waited and got us fastpasses for Winnie the Pooh.
Riley was super excited.

Which left Sara and I together. And we got a wonky Dumbo! We couldn’t get it to go all the way to the top. It was very bizarre.
Everyone had a good time!

The weather was so very hot outside! It was only a preview of the rest of the week. I didn’t know if I was ready to sweat so much!
Joaquin doesn’t handle heat so well. In fact, he kind of wilts in it. Since it was so hot already and we had waited a pretty decent amount of time for Dumbo, we headed into Pinocchio Village Haus for a drink. We sat at the top.
http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/tt359/daniellevoss/WDW%20July%202011/DSCN1381.jpg
We cooled ourselves down sufficiently and then headed back out into the sauna. We had gotten surprise fastpasses to Philharmagic from Winnie the Pooh, so we headed over there. Riley said that she wanted to sit next to me during the show.
http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/tt359/daniellevoss/WDW%20July%202011/DSCN1382.jpg

See Joaquin’s face in the picture above? That’s his hot face. It will appear frequently during this TR. When he’s hot, he doesn’t want to cooperate a whole lot or take pictures. Little stink!
That didn’t last long when the show started. Joaquin was reaching out trying to grab everything. Riley got scared though. She announced very definitively:
“I’m taking my glasses off”!
After we survived the show (Riley was a little bit scarred), we headed over to It’s a Small World. Because, you know, I wanted to have that song stuck in my head for the rest of the day.
“It’s a Small World after all…..”
Riley wanted to be my riding partner. You know, because Tee Tee is the bestest!
http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/tt359/daniellevoss/WDW%20July%202011/DSCN1384.jpg

Riley was super excited that we were in the front of the boat. She was pointing everything out to me.
“Look at the Hippo! It winks!”
“Look at the koalas!”
Very cute.
After that, it was potty time for the kiddos. We decided at that time to forgo using our Winnie the Pooh fastpasses. It had been a long day at this point and dinnertime was approaching. The kiddos had to eat something and then we would relax for the rest of the day. We went to Cosmic Ray’s.
We all got either rotisserie chicken or the chicken and ribs combo.

I'm lost. There's more than one Mickey?? :confused3 Okay, so I know, but it was cute that you weren't allowed to talk about it. You're spoiling the magic!
That video was too cute! I loved how he kept chewing away the whole time. :rotfl: Poor little guy needed a break!

I know! We were spoiling the magic. That's just how we roll I guess. :rotfl:
He was so tired, but he didn't want to be. He went from like 60 to 0 in 10 seconds flat. He was totally fine at first, and then BOOM!
My favorite part of that video is the fact that he starts laughing. I had no idea why he started doing that. :lmao:

MAGIC KINGDOM! WOOT! Boo you adults for ruining the magic. :sad2: You just don't understand LOL But I'm not surprised the CM quieted you, they are very firm when it comes to making sure the kids know that there is one and only one Mickey and that even that one Mickey is fake. The people who play those characters could get fired if people discover the identity of a person and announce it in public. Nasty stuff.
Awww... Riley and Joaquin look so cute on Dumbo. I love how Riley is really getting into it pointing every which way. Too bad they are moving it and that wonderful view of Fantasyland is gone WAH! And I still HAVEN'T rode Dumbo, I'm such a bad Diser...
Oh, that's too bad Riley didn't enjoy PhilharMagic. I can imagine where it may be a bit unnerving for some people, but sounded like Joaquin liked it. Hopefully she won't be scarred for too long :thumbsup2
Love the Deuces picture on It's A Small World. That's so cute that Riley was pointing out everything on the ride. She seems to have a lot of enthusiasm when it comes to Disney. Future DISer maybe? ;)
Oh my gosh, that is the best video ever! :rotfl: I'm pretty sure I do that in my first period class LOL He was REALLY trying to stay awake, oh my gosh, he was all over the place, poor guy. I can only imagine how exhausted he was. Disney takes a lot out of even the most dedicated and enthusiastic patrons. I think the best part of that video was when he fell on your dad, he did NOT want to rest. Good thing you guys got it under control (:

Poor guy - he was spent! We've had them like that, too. You might have seen Brooklynn's 'French fry hanging out of mouth' picture in a previous report when she fell asleep in mid-chew. Disney days will get you. I'm glad you taped that for him to laugh at when he gets older.

So cool that you can take pictures from tapping the screen of your camera!
OH MAN, that's the greatest video EVER! HAHA, and then he starts smiling. When I was with the PreK kids last year, a kid was doing that while sitting on the floor listening to the story I was reading out loud. He kept dipping forward, and I had to tell the teacher's assistant to move him because he was so going to knock his head on the floor! It was the cutest thing though, and I wish I could've taken a video of it!

You know, the CM was really funny about it. We were talking in undertones, because we didn't want to reveal too much information in front of any kiddos, but I guess we weren't talking low enough.
I think that Riley may indeed be a future DISer.
Joaquin was trying so hard to stay awake and the poor thing just couldn't do it. He hung in there though.

The tapping thing totally took me by surprise! And like a dee dee dee, I didn't realize it until much later, when I was looking through my photos and saying to myself "where did this picture come from"?
The smiling part is the absolute best for sure. I lost it when it happened when we were watching it live.

We finished off our dinner at Cosmic Ray's. So you know how Joaquin was falling asleep at dinner? Yup, as soon as we started moving, he was wide awake again. Ha. Figures.
We took the monorail back, because the kids were a little bit tired.
Love the view from the monorail station.

We all got back to Jason's and my room to get everyone's luggage. All our rooms were on the same floor and not to far from each other. Worked out nicely.
Mom took some pictures of their room. You can see the difference in our rooms from the setup. Only a small difference.

So Joaquin had been talking about the pool ever since we got to POP. So, we figured we would head to the pool for the early evening. The kids were very excited and there actually weren't many people there.
FYI. I had more pictures, from a waterproof camera that I bought and brought to the waterpark and the pool. However, when we got home, the camera was cracked and all the pictures were ruined. :(

So you see that little tower through the trees by the pool? That's the slide at the Bay Lake Tower pool and it's pretty big. So, how can a kid be a skipping stone at the same time? By going down that slide, that's how.
Riley and Joaquin are still polar opposites here too. Joaquin loves the pool and water. Riley......not so much.
Well, Joaquin will do just about anything. So, armed with his lifevest, floaties, and goggles, says that he's going to tackle the slide. We ask if there's an age limit. The lifeguard says no. So we say okay. Chris takes him to the top and sends him down, where Jason and I are waiting to catch him.
Imagine a top that spins. That's how Joaquin ended up coming down the slide. Because he refused to lay down like he's supposed to, he wanted to sit up. Well, it caused him to turn......and turn.......and turn......until he was spinning down the slide.
Well he spun himself all the way to the bottom and when he hit the water....well.
That's how a child can be a skipping stone.
It was hilarious! He skipped skipped skipped on his back in his lifevest across the pool.
Now, no child was harmed during the making of this trip report. Joaquin knows how to swim pretty well, can hold his breath too. No need to call DCFS.
We finally got to him. And he promptly asks:
"Can I do that again"!?
Later little man, later.
We wrapped up our time in the pool, and headed back in. Jason and I were peckish, so we grabbed our mugs and headed to the Contempo Cafe to get some snacks. And we ended up with these beautiful things.....
http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/tt359/daniellevoss/WDW%20July%202011/DSCN1401.jpg
There were three kinds. Strawberry, black forest, and dulce de leche. We couldn't decide which ones to get, so what does any sane person do? Get all three, duh!
http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/tt359/daniellevoss/WDW%20July%202011/DSCN1400.jpg
Look in the mirror at how longingly Joaquin is looking at the cupcakes. Thinking:
"If she just tips that tray a tiny bit to the right, one is bound to fall into my mouth. C'mon, tip it. Tip it. TIP IT!"
They were so very worth it, but there was no way we finished it between the three of us. So, I took the remaining over to Mom and Dad. It gave me the opportunity to surprise them with their last anniversary gift.
I had bought them a $100 gift card and booked them for a dinner at Narcoossees during the week. ;)
They were both very surprised by the gift and also happy for the leftovers!
Jason and I set up the room for us to turn in. Jason set up a little bed from the couch pillows for Joaquin. They were perfect size, and we didn't have to worry about him launching himself off the bed.
Which, if the pool slide is any indicator, you know full well he is capable of doing!
It was off to bed for us. We had a full week ahead of us!

Good thing, you guys got moving back to BLT, Joaquin was definitely not going to last for longer. And I love the view from the Monorail station too, you can basically see the main part of the Contemporary perfectly, oh and Chef Mickey's :thumbsup2
Awwww... sorry to hear about the broken camera. At least you did have some other good photos :thumbsup2 LOL @ the Joaquin skipping stone story. That must've been pretty interesting to watch. Good thing Joaquin was as good a swimmer as you said he is, because I don't think that would've been a pleasant situation. He sounds like a funny kid from what I've read. A great kid-ism for this chapter (:

Joaquin is a riot. You'll see some pretty interesting videos later that prove how much energy he really has and how funny he is.
Those cupcakes were soooo good. I would have to say, it was a tie between the strawberry and the dulce de leche.

Ha ha, I knew I had to preface that story with making sure everyone knew what kind of a kid he is. Afterwards, he wouldn't stop talking about it. "Remember that swide?", "Can I go on the swide again?", "Is there going to be a swide?"
I tell you.

Oh no on Joaquin's slide experience  Looks like it didn't affect him that much if he wanted to go again!
Okay a tough question but which cupcake was the best - am thinking of getting the strawberry one on our trip but don't want to miss out on one that tastes even more delish! Before you say get all three there is noo way we will be able to eat them between us!

Well, I'm here to answer the tough questions.
The two best ones were the strawberry and the dulce de leche. So, here's the difference between the two depending on what you want.
The strawberry was really fresh and light tasting, which was very good.
The dulce de leche is a little on the sweeter side and is a bit heavier.
Honestly, I couldn't pick between the two, because it would depend on my taste at that moment.

He totally looks like he wants one to just accidentally fall into his mouth, doesn't he?
I'm glad that you guys enjoyed the dinner. I really wanted to make sure that I sent you to a place that you had never been to before.
For sure a place that I recommend to eat at. The food and service was fantastic :dance3:

Today was our breakfast at 1900 Park Fare! I have to say, this is my favorite breakfast buffet on property.
I woke up around 6:30am to shower and do my hair. Ha. The latter part of that statement was such a joke. My hair ended up being in a ponytail within 5 minutes of leaving the room.
Lesson learned. Don't waste your time doing your hair in Florida in July.
Natch.
I woke the boys up around 7am and we were out the door not too long after. We were meeting everyone at the monorail at 7:30. This started a trend with Jason and I. In the end, he would ask:
"Are we always the last ones to show up?"
Yes, yes we were. With slow poke and slow pokier, that was the M.O.
We managed to snag a monorail pretty quickly though and were on our way in no time. We managed to arrive prior to the opening of the restaurant, so I was able to snap some good pics.

We had to wait to enter the restaurant.
Joaquin looked longingly at his prize possession....

See the "gween" fan?
Instead, we told Joaquin that Wicket was lonely. He didn't stay lonely for long.
http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/tt359/daniellevoss/WDW%20July%202011/DSCN1405.jpg
We saw the pre-opening and the arrival of Mary Poppins. After that, it was time to head in. 'Bout time, because I was HUNGRY!
Here is my first plate.
http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/tt359/daniellevoss/WDW%20July%202011/DSCN1407.jpg
I am looking at it, and yearning for the strawberry soup in the background. I could bath in that stuff. Seriously. I think it might be good for my skin too if I did.....
Joaquin got started right away.
http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/tt359/daniellevoss/WDW%20July%202011/CIMG3993.jpg

Ooooo... 1900 Park Fare! I REALLY want to try this place, not just for the food and to see the lovely GF, but the characters though I think the ones I want to meet are at Dinner :/ LOL @ your whole hair situation, I need to tell that to my mom if we end up going in June or July, see how that works out  And I love the pictures of Joaquin just staring at the fan, where was that when he was in pre-sleep the day before?
Oooo... the breakfast at 1900 Park Fare looks really good. That Strawberry Soup is very enticing. If Strawberries can be put into soup, it MUST be good. You also can't go wrong with hash browns or an omelet. YUM!
It does look like Pooh's eating Joaquin! Pooh has such a big head lol But Joaquin seemed to like him the most. Is Pooh his favorite character? The picture you got of Riley and him with Pooh is just adorable, you caught it perfectly.
Oh wow, he didn't like that Mad Hatter and the face he has in the picture with Mary Poppins... priceless. And Poor Alice seemed to really want to talk to Joaquin :'( Oh well, but at least you got some nice pictures there and everyone was enjoying their meal :D

Joaquin was completely mesmerized by that fan, I'm telling you!
I do like the characters at 1900 PF better at dinner too, but I just love their breakfast.
I've actually made the strawberry soup before. It turned out good, but it's better there.
Pooh actually isn't Joaquin's favorite character, he just loved meeting the fuzzy guys.

I'll post about it later, but the tour groups we encountered were actually a lot of fun. The kids seemed to be having such a good time, and they weren't rude or obnoxious. It's just the sheer magnitude of how many of them there are!
July was the worst I've seen in any of my travels. I wonder if it's because I normally go in more off season times.

I'm totally with you. I would think that giant heads would be scarier. Go figure.
I like 1900 PF mostly for two reasons.
1) Omelets made to order
2) Strawberry soup.
See how little it takes to get me to a restaurant?

Our destination was clear. Epcot was on the horizon for us. I settled our bill and we were on our way. We took the monorail and managed to get to Epcot by about 9:30am. Not too shabby if I do say so myself!
So what do we do when we arrive? Like a bunch of amatuers, we head over the Spaceship Earth. Really, I do know what I'm doing at Disney....scout's honor!

So I want to run over and fill up the fans and water bottles before we get on, plus I have to drop off the stroller. So I'm strolling over to do that and strolling back to SE. Well, Chris is frantically waving at me. Telling me to hurry up, hurry up. I'm like . Then, I understand....
The Brazilian tour groups were descending upon Spaceship Earth.
And I only had a tiny window of time to dash from the stroller to Spaceship Earth before I too became a member of a Brazilian tour group.
So I BOLTED! And I made it.
SO MANY BRAZILIANS....

That was to the right of me. If I would have had the opportunity to get my left, it would be like three times that amount. Woah. :scared1:
I think the entire country was there. If the entire country of Brazil was in Disney World, who was running their country? Inquiring minds would like to know.
Chris observed (very astute) that they all probably won't even be on the ride yet when we get off. True, very very true.
My future was strange and somehow involved a tiki god?

After we returned, Chris was our designated fastpass runner for Soarin'. The rest of us starting heading over to the Seas with Nemo and Friends. The chillins really loved the sea gulls.

MINE!
Riley rode with me (again, because I am AWESOME!). She had never been on the ride before and was a little scared when we got to the part with the angler fish. However, it actually wasn't working, so it was in her favor I guess.
After our journey under the sea (d'oh, wrong movie!), we headed in to talk with Crush. Riley and Joaquin sat up front. I had visions running through my head of Joaquin running up to the screen and just acting the fool, because that's just how he rolls. Fortunately, that did not happen.
http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/tt359/daniellevoss/WDW%20July%202011/DSCN1439.jpg
After we spent a little time exploring, we decided to head to Imagination.
http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/tt359/daniellevoss/WDW%20July%202011/DSCN1440.jpg
We all managed to fit in one car. I still don't know how exactly.
However, when we got in the car, Jason tried to put his arm around Joaquin and ended up hitting him in the face with his elbow. Which resulted in Joaquin saying loudly so all could hear:
"You jacked me right in the face!"
I have no idea where this kid gets things like this from. :rolleyes1
The ride was good, but the first Figment was broken. His mouth wasn't moving. It was kind of like a dubbed movie or something. I wish they would change this back or do something with it.

I think what I like the most about the original Imagination was that it was very whimsical. Much more along the lines of what imagination is like. If you YouTube it, you can see the ride through.

Love those pics of the rooms! I could live there! I would love that to be my everyday apartment. I especially like that little shelf area by the sink. Things get so cluttered around the sink. That little nook is perfect.
Haha, skipping stone Joaquin? That must've been a sight to see! Too bad that's not recorded! What a little daredevil though!
Even though he's not a fan of Mary Poppins in that picture, it's sucha n adorable picture with those dimples! Oy, love 'em!

So we left off that we were heading off to lunch. Our destination was the Tangierine Cafe. I love that place.
Chris and I actually ended up having a stroller race with Joaquin and Riley through World Showcase. What fools we were! It is the middle of July in Florida you know!
So we're running with the kids and they are shouting at us.
"Go faster, go faster!"
"Tee Tee, there's the finish line, go, go, go!"
"Hit them, hit them. We're gonna cwash!"
"Go, go, the finish line! We can't lose to Riley!"
"Tee Tee, I'm a bad dwiver!" (That was Joaquin to me. Apparently I wasn't very good at steering the stroller).
We get up to France and Belle is out. Riley wanted to see her and I had to take a potty break. So I left to go to the bathroom, and they waited in line.
So I get back from the bathroom and Joaquin has finally gotten over his fear, because this is what I see.

Priceless, no?
After we were able to tear the love birds away from each other, we made it to our destination.
We all managed to order pretty quickly.
Note to anyone about Tangierine Cafe. I love this restaurant, but I completely forgot that there is NO AIR CONDITIONING!
We sat outside to eat. It did not go well for the kiddos. Joaquin was wilting like crazy. I did manage to get pictures of our food though!

After we finished our lovely lunch, it was time to head over to Soarin' to use our fastpasses.
On the way, I had to get a Grey Goose slushie. I use the word slushie in the loosest way, because there was really not much slush in it. More ie.
We were very happy with our drinks though.

http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/tt359/daniellevoss/WDW%20July%202011/DSCN1464.jpg
And two seconds after that, he dropped it and it broke. Bye bye cup.
We made it to Soarin'. Woo hoo!
Hello, and welcome to Soarin'.

I have to get a picture of him every time. I love Patrick Warburton.
Riley rode with me (again, continuing the streak of my pure awesomenesity). Joaquin was just tall enough to make it. He got soooo excited too when he made it on. He bonked his head on the height stick and then started jumping up and down for joy.
Our flight over California was great, as always. After this, it was time to head out, because the chillins' definitely needed a break.

You're killing me with these videos, Danielle! They are just too funny and too cute! I didn't get as many videos as I wanted to, but I think that the ones that I got were pretty good. The pummeling Belle part was my favorite in the video. That's just how he hugs people though.
I love Tangierine Cafe. It's one of the best CS options I think, because it's different than your normal burger fare.
I was very sad that the cup died so soon after the picture. He's got butter fingers though.
Riley was my main riding partner. Joaquin is more of a daddy's boy, so he rode with Jason mostly. And he is very resistant to head injuries. Every time he had to get measured, he basically whammed his head into the height stick.

We left off having just finished our lunch at the Tangierine Cafe. We figured now was as good a time as any to get the kids back for some relaxing. However, on our way out we had to head into Mouse Gears. Duh. Can't leave without doing that!
We didn't make any purchases, but Joaquin actually did fall asleep in the stroller as we were walking through Mouse Gears. That was good, because he needed some sleep. We actually made it all the way to the hotel before he woke up.
Once we got back, we were all set to go in the pool, but as soon as Jason, Joaquin and I got down there, the pool had been closed because of lightning in the area. D'oh! Joaquin kept saying, "are we gonna go to the pool?" over and over again. Nope, sorry honey, not today.
When we got up to the room it actually started to rain pretty badly. It was good though, we had some time to relax. We decided to meet up at the Contempo Cafe at 6pm.
Guess who showed up at the restaurant last?
I had a little bit of a meltdown here, I'm not gonna lie. It needs a little bit of prefacing though. I was hot, got sunburned, didn't get pool time, and didn't get a nap because Jason wanted to, leaving me to watch Joaquin. We went up and ordered. We were instructed to go and pay and that the buzzer would go off when the food was ready. Mom walked out to get the drinks. Like a ding dong, I forgot that the drinks are given to you by the cashier. I got frustrated, because I felt stupid for not remembering, I'm walking around with the tray full of food, and all Jason is doing is standing there texting and playing on his phone. Like he is all the time on this trip it seems. So I kind of got mad at him and told him to be useful and do something. It may seem minor, but Jason had been unable to leave his phone alone the whole time, leaving me and every one else to watch Joaquin all the time. I guess this minor thing was the straw that broke the camels back. I was tired already of me having to watch Joaquin, me having to push the stroller, me having to remember things, me having to pay, blah blah blah.
Of course, Jason wouldn't talk to me for a while after that. Whatever. He just had to get over it.
We buzzed and our food was ready. I got cheese flatbread, Jason got pepperoni, and we got cheese pizza for Joaquin.
http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/tt359/daniellevoss/WDW%20July%202011/DSCN1466.jpg
The flatbread was really good, much better than the normal Disney pizza.
So we're eating, having a good time, and Joaquin rips one at the table. And on top of doing that, he yells across the restaurant:
"Poppy (my dad), I farted!!!!!!!":lmao:
Yup, we're a classy bunch all right.
It was off to the Magic Kingdom now, because we had the fireworks dessert party!
We got to the Magic Kingdom a little bit after 7pm. We walked instead of taking the monorail. It was sooooo sticky outside!
We decided to shake things up and go to the left when we walked into the park. We always go to the right. People were already lining up for MSEP and it was kind of hard to get through the throngs.
Before we got off of Main Street, we got the chillins some balloons. My dad was too funny, because he looks at me and in a serious voice says "those were cheap balloons!" I said "really?!" He said, "yeah, $25 cheap!"
Funny dad, real funny.
For some reason, I don't have many pictures until the fireworks, so I apologize about the lack of photos here. We decided to go to Pirates of the Caribbean. Riley wanted to ride this for the first time. I ended up with mom, Riley and Joaquin. Riley was not a fan......at all. She kept on telling me, once we were in the boat, that she didn't want to do it. I had to keep reassuring her that everything was okay. Joaquin on the other hand? Happy as a clam.
After that, it was over to the Magic Carpets. Riley really wanted to go on. It ended up being just Riley, Joaquin, mom, and I. Chris picked up fastpasses for the Jungle Cruise in the mean time. We got on the Jungle Cruise after the Magic Carpets, and then it was time for us to check in for the dessert party.
We didn't have to wait for too long before we headed in and grabbed our goodies. Yum!

The kids had such a good time! They were absolutely fascinated when Tinkerbell flew from the castle.
After the show, the chillins were tired, so Mom, Sara, and I took them back to the hotel. We left the boys to their own devices during magic hours. I let Joaquin play for about 20 minutes before I put him to bed. He told me again that I was the best. :cloud9: I know kiddo, I know.
Joaquin's Kid-isms -
You jacked me right in the face! (to Jason when he accidentally hit him in the face on Imagination).
I am a bad driver. (during our stroller races).
But we have to follow my map and my map only has a Magic Kingdom on it! (while we were in the room relaxing).
No, no, you're not hungry, you already ate! (to my mom when she tried to take a carrot from him).
Poppy, Poppy! I farted!!!
I'm gonna bust your face off! (when he received his balloon).
Riley, Riley!!!!! Ka-chow!
Riley's Kid-isms -
Leave a handle on my bagel. (my cream cheese application instructions. She's kind of OCD and hates getting stuff on her hands).
It's not a good idea that I jump, because I have bigger feet than you. (to Joaquin while playing).

Awwww... that's too bad the pool was closed, but good thing you got back inside before it rained :thumbsup2 And sorry to hear about the whole Contempo Cafe debacle. Lucky your brother that the food was good or I think there would've been a meltdown. LOL @ Joaquin, he IS a riot :rotfl:
Poor Riley on POTC. She seems to not enjoy too many rides though I would expect that she would like POTC, but I guess it isn't for everyone :confused3 But she got through it and Joaquin enjoyed it (:
Are. You. Kidding. Me! More Wishes Dessert Party Food pictures! I have... I'm walking away right now. ;) The cannnnnnoooooollllliiiii :goodvibes Mmmmm... So sad I won't be able to go to a Wishes Dessert Party at DLR :sad2: Love the pictures of the Fireworks, they look so much better from the front  The MM&Y picture reminds me I need to see that sometime LOL And that's great Riley and Joaquin enjoyed it, they have good taste :teeth:
These kid-isms are too funny and too cute. I like Riley's, especially the one with her having "bigger feet" :lmao: And the one Joaquin says to your mom about the carrot, so funny :D
Oooo... nice Photopass, you guys look great in your shades
Can't wait to read more! :mickeyjum
We were kind of bummed out at the pool being closed, but what are you going to do? It's Florida in July.
Riley is actually kind of a chicken with a lot of things, and the fact that she got on as many rides as she did was kind of huge, I'm not gonna lie.
Um, I would suggest looking away from my October TR when it starts, because there will be some dessert party pics there too. ;) You know, there used to be a dessert party in DLR. I went to it. There it was Fantasmic and dessert and used to be held on the balcony of the Disney gallery (which is now the Dream Suite in DLR). I was actually super thrilled when they started to do them at WDW.
I always look cool in my shades. :lmao:

It seems to take forever for them to release the dates! I had to wait a while to book the July ones and my October trip was the same. I was just able to book it a few weeks ago. Just keep checking. They'll release them soon enough. I'm guessing they won't release it any sooner than October though. The desserts are definitely worth it.

It's a shame the pool was not open but at least some of you got to have some down time.
Uh oh on the restaurant situation - glad it got sorted soon after and the flatbreads sure look yummy!
Love the dessert pics but only one plate...really! :lmao:
Haha on the kid-isms! Love the Wishes and PP pics - am glad they got the interaction with Belle.

Awww, how cute is that video with Joaquin and Belle! I love the Buzz Lightyear discussion. And the jump hug! Even so, nothing is going to beat that video of falling asleep at Cosmic Ray's!
Haha, the "Poppy, I farted" is also way better than the "jacked me right in the face." Joaquin keeps one upping himself!

Yeah, I wasn't able to capture anything that was better than him falling asleep at Cosmic Ray's. Doesn't mean I didn't try!

SO MANY BRAZILIANS....
http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/tt359/daniellevoss/WDW%20July%202011/DSCN1427.jpg
True, very very true

Ummmmm....I know the answer to that one...I was running the country because I was the only one down here...:rotfl:Seriously, I was wondering where was everybody...well apparently you found them!!!!!;)

Yeah, his voice is especially cute, I have to say. Riley is very funny with the handle in the bagel deal. That's not all she does. She uses her hot dog bun like a holder for the hot dog and pushes it out because she doesn't want to actually touch it. :lmao:

I really like the idea of not having to look for a spot and stake my claim really early And a dessert buffet doesn't hurt either!
I wasn't too proud of my meltdown, because I don't normally have them. But thankfully it was the only one that I had. ;)

Okay, jumping in and making sure I'm subbed to this TR.
Just came back to edit my post since I just got all caught up! Totally enjoying it so far.
I didn't know the brazillian tour groups were there in the summer too. But I am surprised you didn't see them in February? We saw them everywhere in Feb. and I do have to say, they were pretty well behaved. They are just in HUGE numbers!
I keep dying over all of the comments that comes out of that cute little dimple-cheeked boy. "You jacked me in the face." may be my favorite so far, though.
Isn't it funny how little kids are so proud of their bodily functions? Farting, pooping, burping. My daughter is always so proud herself.
I am glad that I have found a fellow Tangerine Cafe lover! We love that CS and tend to eat there at least once every trip to Epcot. And the portions are pretty generous. I was drooling when I saw your plate.

Wow, I did not see any Brazilian tour groups when we were there in February. How crazy that you saw them and we didn't. Maybe we were on a different touring plan.....
I think "You jacked me in the face" was my favorite comment of his. It just came out of no where and at such an appropriate time.
Riley is also proud of her bodily functions, we just didn't have any major moments on this trip.
TC is one of my favorites! It always cracks me up how many people just walk up, look at the menu, and leave. I always want to yell at them to just stay and try it!

Ah relaxation. That was my goal today. Typhoon Lagoon was the plan. There was an inner tube floating around the lazy river that had my name on it. Soon, it would not just have my name on it, it would have my butt imprint too!
I'm going to introduce this chapter letting you know I do not have that many pictures. See, I had a waterproof disposable camera that I brought along. And somehow, it got cracked and I didn't know it. So when I brought it to CVS to develop, they had to call me and tell me that it had water in the chamber. Boo. :(
So anyway, I had been talking about my butt imprint in the inner tube. Right.
So I was operating on the assumption that Typhoon Lagoon opened at 10am. I had a brain fart that they opened at 9am. I had my alarm set for 8:30am. At about 8:15am, there was knocking on my door. Huh? No idea what was going on.
What was happening was Chris was standing outside the door and it was still dark inside and the boys were still sleeping. Chris looked all taken back and kept saying "they open at nine".........I didn't think it was such a big issue that we got there at 9am, but the boys got up and we got ready to go in no time flat. Riley and Sara were not coming along. Remember, Riley doesn't love water, so apparently she had a panic attack in the morning and kept on saying that she WOULD NOT BE GOING!!!!! So our group consisted of mom, dad, Chris, Jason, Joaquin and I.
Of course this prompted Joaquin saying "where are Wiley and Sawa"? "Are Wiley and Sawa coming"? I had to break it to him that they weren't, but he got over it pretty quickly. We all hopped in the minivan and were on our way.
We've arrived!!!
http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/tt359/daniellevoss/WDW%20July%202011/DSCN0186.jpg
Joaquin was pretty excited, I have to say.
http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/tt359/daniellevoss/WDW%20July%202011/DSCN0187.jpg
We made our way in, but had some photopass pictures taken first.
I love how Joaquin's all like "I need sunglasses, yo"!
http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/tt359/daniellevoss/WDW%20July%202011%20Photopass/Photo0051FourBySix.jpg
And I'm talking?
http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/tt359/daniellevoss/WDW%20July%202011%20Photopass/Photo0053FourBySix.jpg
And now Chris is blinking. Can't seem to get it right.
http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/tt359/daniellevoss/WDW%20July%202011%20Photopass/Photo0055FourBySix.jpg
And my favorite sight!
http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/tt359/daniellevoss/WDW%20July%202011/DSCN0189.jpg
http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/tt359/daniellevoss/WDW%20July%202011/DSCN0190.jpg
As soon as we got in, we settled with some beach chairs. Our first stop was the wave pool. Armed with floaties, goggle, and a life vest, Joaquin was so ready for this. He had the best time ever.
He would be all ready, the alarm would sound, and he would try to swim back to us "help me, help me, help me"!!!
Of course, like bad people we are, we wouldn't help. Because what Joaquin loved the best was getting knocked around by the wave. So he would get washed away and caught in the end. He did this over and over and over again.
Joaquin was with mom and dad, so Chris, Jason and I headed in deeper into the wave pool. We were in pretty deep. Then a wave came. Then I got knocked over. Then I lost my sunglasses. Yes, my sunglasses now reside somewhere in Typhoon Lagoon.
We headed out of the wave pool and into the lazy river. Remember, inner tube with my name on it! I found my inner tube and planted my heiney right on it!
Joaquin loved the lazy river. He had such a good time.
Can't you tell?
http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/tt359/daniellevoss/WDW%20July%202011%20Photopass/Photo0056FourBySix.jpg
http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/tt359/daniellevoss/WDW%20July%202011%20Photopass/Photo0059FourBySix.jpg
Now, I'm going to say that I love the lazy river. But I think it would be greatly improved with a swim up bar! :rolleyes1
At this point, we were all hungry and decided to get something to eat. We headed over to Leaning Palms. No pics, sorry. I got chicken breast nuggets, mom a turkey sandwich, dad pulled pork, Chris and Jason got a hot italian sub, and Joaquin a hot dog. Joaquin had a little bit of a moment here.
See, at Typhoon Lagoon, you sit on benches for lunch. Well, Joaquin wasn't listening and he fell off the bench twice. The first time, Jason was able to catch him. Joaquin got scolded for messing around (because honestly, if he wasn't messing around, he wouldn't have fallen off the bench). The second time, Jason's reflexes weren't quite as fast. Joaquin did not sustain any injuries, but I think he learned his lesson about messing around when he's told he shouldn't.
Now for the title of this chapter. It was funny when we were there, so I'll just relay the story.
As we're sitting, the song "Rum and Coca Cola" was playing, by the Andrews Sisters. I have known this song for a long time.
So we're sitting and I'm listening to the song. And I say "Ok, there is this part in the song I just don't understand". Dad says "ok, which one?"
I say, "the part where they say 'working for the unkee dala'. What's an unkee dala"?
Dad says, "it's not unkee dala. It's YANKEE DOLLAR"......
"Oh"........
Which leads Jason to say "Seriously, you thought it was 'unkee dala'? That's like some tiki god. UNKEE DALA, UH"!
Which leads my mom to spray sweet tea out of her nose, all over the table.
That's how we roll!
:dance3:
Seriously, google the song, listen to it, and you will understand why I was confused for soooooo many years.
We had a good laugh, but we needed to move on. We headed to Gangplank Falls. We waited for what felt like FOREVER! They had some issues with it later on, and the water level got too low and they needed to refill. I think we waited like 40 minutes. We split up, mom, dad and Chris in one, Jason, Joaquin and I in another. Joaquin loved it, and I WOULD have had some great pictures. Stupid disposable waterproof camera!
As soon as we got out of the ride, Joaquin said "can we go again"?
We said that we had to move on and do some other things. I asked him what he wanted to do and he said "pway in the sand"!!! So the boys went one way and mom and I took Joaquin to the sand to "pway".
The boys rode some slides, but I think they got some pretty great pictures from the Crush 'n' Gusher.
Dad's face = priceless

http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/tt359/daniellevoss/WDW%20July%202011%20Photopass/Photo0067FourBySix.jpg
Seems like they had a good time!
After "pwaying" in the sand for a while, Joaquin and I headed back into the wave pool. He got tossed around some more and absolutely loved it! The boys came back and we called it a day. I was sunburned (d'oh!) and had to get inside at this point. Overall, we had a really good time at Typhoon Lagoon. Joaquin just loved it.

You definitely need to visit a waterpark sometime soon. It's such a good way to have some relaxing time. It was a nice break too, because it was soooo hot when we were there.
I was so happy that the photopass photographer caught Joaquin in the lazy river. It worked out, because seeing as though my camera got ruined....
It's always an interesting sight when we are all together at one time. Because it was the five of us, it kind of felt like we were kids again, and clearly we were acting like kids.
The Crush 'n' Gusher pictures just turned out perfect. I couldn't have asked for more. I cracked up when I loaded the pictures onto the photopass CD.

I was so bummed about my camera. I don't know how it got cracked.
Riley was all set to go the day before when I was talking to her, but she falls victim to the talk big and then back off later.

I love Typhoon Lagoon! It looks like you had a great day!!! What a bummer about your water proof camera...but at least you got some good shots! :thumbsup2
We did have great day. I was happy that at least the photo pass photographers were out to get pictures for us.
I'm sorry your disposable camera was broken. I would be so mad :headache:
It sounds like you had a great time at Typhoon Lagoon! I wish I would have gotten to go there when I was younger... I would have stayed in that wave pool for HOURS! I mean, I still would... but I don't have as much energy as I used to :lmao:
Hahaha so funny about the song mix up. I totally do stuff like that all the time.
I'm glad you guys had so much fun! :goodvibes
I think what I was most irritated about is that I have no idea when it happened. I wish we would have gone to water parks more when I was a kid too. We never started going until I was a teenager.

Too bad about that camera, but the pics you do have are great! I love the sunglasses pic at the start. I know I've said it before, but he is just too cute!
Looks like a fun day! I'm off to look up that song!! :rotfl:

Hahahaha. You're going to have to let me know what you uncover when you find the song.
I was very happy with the pictures that we did end up with, I have to say.

Interesting song! I see this being one that sticks in my head for hours. I can definitely see why you thought that!

Classic update! Love it.
Um, did Joaquin pass out in the lazy river? Because he looks just that relaxed. :thumbsup2 Nice.
However, my daughter had the complete opposite reaction as him in the wave pool. She too had her goggles and life vest on, but once that alarm sounded, it was like - "get me the heck out of here!!!" and high tailed it back to safer ground. It was funny watching her little legs move that fast. She would not have enjoyed being tossed around by the big wave. Maybe it's a girl vs. boy thing. Speaking of the big wave....I saw more than my share of lady parts at our Typhoon Lagoon day. Hold on to your tops ladies!
Classic Crush N Gusher pic. I bet you were amused with that for a while.
I want to hang out with your crew. :thumbsup2

Right! It is the kind of song that sticks in your head for endless periods of time.
Classic update! Love it.

He didn't, but he totally looks that way, doesn't he? He did fall asleep in the lazy river on his first trip though. :rotfl:

Maybe it is a boy/girl thing. Joaquin loved it. Well, he loved it until he got water up his nose. He had a little moment after that. Oh yeah, and scary lady parts! I know. :scared1:

I was amused for QUITE some time. It also didn't help that I almost snorted my drink out of my nose when I first viewed the picture.
I want to hang out with your crew. :thumbsup2
Come on board anytime! We are always looking for more fun people!

I'm just warning you guys in advance, there will not be as many pictures in this update. Just didn't get the opportunity to take too many pics. You will find out why very soon.
So we got back to the hotel after having a great morning at Typhoon Lagoon. Jason and I were really hoping that Joaquin would take a nap at this point. You think that worked out?
Nope.
On top of Joaquin not napping, our plans of chillaxin' for the night were crushed, because Chris wanted to go to the Animal Kingdom. You see, Riley is used to going to the Animal Kingdom on her second full day, and Riley hadn't been yet and was asking. I'm not going to lie, because I was sunburned, I was really feeling like just relaxing, but I felt like I couldn't say no.
Jason and I headed out with Joaquin at about 3:45ish. We took a bus and Chris and Sara drove. I received a text from Chris saying:
"The race is on!"
Who do you think won that? Not Jason and I! Must I remind you, we were staying at a deluxe resort. I love Disney, truly I do. But combine a deluxe resort with going to the Animal Kingdom, and you'll be waiting for a while.
Joaquin was running around with the "wittle" pink fan, because he wanted to "dwy" the mud. :lmao: At least it kept him entertained until the bus came.

Joaquin was being pretty silly on the bus and we all had a good time.
http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/tt359/daniellevoss/WDW%20July%202011/DSCN0192.jpg
Can you tell how much of a daddy's boy he is?
http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/tt359/daniellevoss/WDW%20July%202011/DSCN0193.jpg
His entertaining himself didn't last too long. I pulled my phone out because Chris texted "we're here.....you're not!" Of course, Joaquin sees my phone and says "can I pway angwy birds?"
Yes, you can play angry birds.
And dig for gold apparently.....
http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/tt359/daniellevoss/WDW%20July%202011/DSCN0194.jpg
Angry birds is a very very serious game.
See?

http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/tt359/daniellevoss/WDW%20July%202011/DSCN0196.jpg
And I don't know what Wicket did, but suddenly Joaquin was eating him!!!
http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/tt359/daniellevoss/WDW%20July%202011/DSCN0197.jpg
We finally arrived at the Animal Kingdom and I realized that I didn't have any sunscreen. Really dumb move when you're sunburned. I made sure to get some right away. The fact that it cost like $15 hurt a big. But I'm not risking my skin. No sir.
We all met up at the Oasis and our first stop was the safari. Lo and behold, who would we find at the safari?
BRAZILIANS!!!!
http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/tt359/daniellevoss/WDW%20July%202011/DSCN0198.jpg
http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/tt359/daniellevoss/WDW%20July%202011/DSCN0199.jpg
The kids were clearly having a very serious conversation about something.
http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/tt359/daniellevoss/WDW%20July%202011/DSCN0200.jpg
The wait time was only about 10 minutes. When we got to the loading dock, the cast member took the wait time card from a guy who had it. He then started drilling her about what he is getting for helping Disney with this, because he did work, and he kept going on and on and on about it!!!!! He was such a jerk.
And guess who ended up in our safari truck?
The jerk. :headache:
I didn't get to take many pictures, because I was trying to hang on to Joaquin so he didn't fall off the seat.
Joaquin was not thrilled. He was already wilting in the heat. And also talking about being "hungwy".
http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/tt359/daniellevoss/WDW%20July%202011/DSCN0201.jpg
Our poor driver had such a hard time on her hands. A family on the truck kept on letting their kid stand up, he stood up on their laps, etc. She kept asking that everyone remain seated and that kids sit on the seats. I have to add, this kid was like 8 years old. They kept doing it over and over and over again. The driver was getting so irritated and she kept pointing out that it wasn't safe to do that. I felt bad for her. She then said that if they didn't listen, she would drive the truck all the way through and that wouldn't be fair for other guests.
Well, remember we had the jerk in our truck? He was behind us and was like "she better not do that, I paid enough money to be here, I'll sue, blah blah blah."
I think we just all need to get over ourselves a little, you know?
Anywho, there was one funny part. When you go over the bridge that teeters and totters, the driver said "we have to be careful, this bridge is only put together with duct tape."
So we toss back and forth, and Riley looks at me and says:
"That was some slippery duct tape!" :rotfl:
Followed by:
"Minnie (her little Minnie figure) said that she heard danger!"
After our safari we decided we were hungry. Poor Joaquin was wilting and he kept saying he was hot and sad. I knew we had to eat indoors, which is hard to find at Animal Kingdom. Chris and Sara wanted Yak and Yeti. I was okay with that, but it's outside and Joaquin would not eat if he was so hot. We finally agreed that the boys would get the food and that Sara and I would head over to Pizzafari for seats.
We scoped out seats and I got Joaquin some macaroni and cheese. He was pretty happy with it.
http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/tt359/daniellevoss/WDW%20July%202011/DSCN0202.jpg
When the boys arrived, it had started raining. They had good timing. Chris and I had honey chicken, Jason sweet and sour chicken, Sara fried rice and an egg roll, and Riley chicken nuggets.
My food.
http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/tt359/daniellevoss/WDW%20July%202011/DSCN0203.jpg
While we were eating it started POURING! Now everyone should have been thanking me for my insight to eat inside.
While we're eating, Joaquin looks at the wall behind me with all of the animal drawings, very seriously looks at me and says:
"Tee tee, that Tigger is wooking at me......"
He wasn't too thrilled about the tiger on the wall that seemed to be eyeing him. ;)
We waited out the storm. And caught this guy sleeping.
http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/tt359/daniellevoss/WDW%20July%202011/DSCN0204.jpg
We waited until it lightened up and headed out. We didn't have ponchos. Jason and I passed the main store up front and headed in because it started pouring again. We figured to get Joaquin a poncho and to cover the stroller with it. People were standing in the stores, blocking us from getting in. Seriously people! Don't you see we're heading in?!
I pushed my way through, bought Joaquin a poncho and a small Nemo. Jason and I figured that us getting wet wouldn't be a big deal because we were going back to the hotel. So we put Joaquin in the stroller and covered him up. It worked like a charm. He stayed bone dry and so did our bags under the stroller.
Jason and I got soaked! Completely soaked. It was actually kind of fun at that point. As we're walking, we keep hearing Joaquin say:
"Daddy, my feet are getting wet!"
Suck it up dude!!! You're dry everywhere else!
We got to our stop and a bus came quickly after that. Now we were freezing because we were soaked on a frigid bus. We made it back to the hotel and packed it in for the night. The rain wasn't letting up after that. I changed and grabbed the mugs while Jason bathed Joaquin. I went on a wild goose chase after this. I figured I would get a DVD to watch. I wasn't sure where they were rented though, so I stopped in the sundries store to ask. The CM that I asked had bad hearing and didn't understand me. The other cast member piped in and said to go to the front desk. I could tell the the older CM had not heard me, because he says "oh yeah, you have to go to the front desk to rent a room...." Thanks man! :rolleyes1
So down to the front desk I go. They tell me I have to go to the community center, which he says is outside by the pool. So I start walking outside the main Contemporary building to the pool. I see a bellman and I ask him just to make sure. He says that the community hall is in Bay Lake Tower.
:headache::headache:
I could not believe that so many cast members had no idea what I was talking about. I felt so stupid at that point and still hadn't filled our mugs! I gave up. I filled the mugs and went back to our room.
What am I treated to upon walking into the room? Jason help Joaquin off the potty, wiping his little tushie, and Joaquin saying:
"And don't touch my junk!!!!" :lmao:
Joaquin kid-isms -
"Aw gweat!"
"Aw coconuts."
"Tee Tee that Tigger is wooking at me....."
"The scuba diver smashed up Nemo!"
"And don't touch my junk!"
Riley kid-isms -
"That was some slippery duct tape!"
"Minnie said that she heard danger!"
"Trying new things is better than trying new foods."
Up Next: Wicket goes home...
