Clicking noise in my ear? Does anybody....

have any experience with this, or any idea what causes it?

It's just a clicking deep inside my right ear. It's not been a constant thing, just periodically and when it happens, it stays for a day or two, clicking away.

I was going to say: TMJ (temporal mandibular joint) problem. But the article that Dan refers to doesn't even mention that. The article seems to have some good ideas.

Wow! Thanks Dan! It definitely fits the muscle twitching theory, because swallowing has nothing to do with it.

I hope it goes away on it's own, because I'm sure not going to have a needle in my ear muscles! YIKES! (I might have to go for the drugs;) :p ) Probably need to be calmed down anyway, LOL.

Thanks to minnie for your input--I do have some symptoms of TMJ, but they don't seem to be related. :D
