Hello, and welcome to my Disneymoon TR! :goodvibes This is my third TR and I love reliving all of the memories of our trips here almost as much as I love making them! If you’d like to take a glance at my previous TRs, the links are in my signature. Also, if you’d like to take a peek behind the scenes and see all of the planning that went into this trip, my PTR “Planning Our Happily Every After” can be found in my signature as well. I will warn you, though, I am a bit OCD when it comes to planning and it is loaded to the brim with both trip and wedding details!
So obviously since this is a honeymoon TR, you know that my DH (so strange to type that!) and I just got married! We had a beautiful ceremony and reception in our hometown of Atlanta, Georgia and woke up the next morning and made the drive to Disney where we honeymooned for nearly two weeks!

Ok, before I get too far, I should introduce myself for those who don’t know me. I am Courtney, a 20-something southern girl born and raised in Atlanta. Thankfully, my close promixity to Florida and the fact that my dad has lived there since I was 2 meant that I spent most spring and summer breaks in Disney. I have loved the parks, the movies and the characters since before I can remember and I love getting to relive my childhood with each trip!

My 30 year old hubby Miguel had never been to Disney when we met back in 2007, but I quickly changed that! He loves thrill rides and going with the flow – two things I do not, but somehow, our trips work out beautifully! I consider myself very lucky to have a Disney buddy and a husband who loves Disney just as much as I do.

http://i826.photobucket.com/albums/zz185/carrottop4888/Misc/8dc36641.jpg
After about a year of dating Miguel and I decided to take our first trip together and spent a few days at Disney while visiting my dad in Tampa. Miguel quickly fell in love, and my Disney love-affair was reunited in the worst way! We visited another time in March 2009 before Miguel proposed on Christmas day of that year. Soon after our engagement we made a trip in January 2010 and again right after Thanksgiving 2010. Disney seemed like the most logical place for two Disney-obsessed souls to go for their honeymoon, and we had an absolute blast on our fifth and most extravagant trip together!
http://i826.photobucket.com/albums/zz185/carrottop4888/Misc/8ec5eefe.png
Since this was our honeymoon, I wanted to go all out, so I booked us for 11 nights at the Polynesian and planned some fun extras like tours, spa treatments, a fireworks cruise and signature meals to make the trip a trip of a lifetime. This was, without a doubt, our most meticulously planned-out trip. I spent an entire year planning, pondering and generally over-thinking every moment of our trip. Yet somehow, we still managed to make cancellations, add ADRs and change the plans on a whim. So, even if you followed along with my PTR, there are still some surprises in store!
I feel so blessed to have been able to take this amazing trip with my amazing new husband, and now I am so ready to share it all with you! Thank you for joining in - readers new and old! :goodvibes
Up next: It’s FINALLY time to go to Disney!!! :woohoo:

ARRIVAL DAY - Pt. 1
On Sunday morning, Miguel and I woke up for the first time as husband and wife! What an amazing feeling! We were both still in awe of the wedding, the beauty of the evening and the fact that in just a few short hours, we would be in our favorite place in the world on our honeymoon!
I purposely scheduled us a late dinner that evening (8:00) so that we wouldn’t have to rush that morning. The plan was to be on the road by 11:00, since we had to be out of the hotel at that point anyway. I set the alarm for 9:00, and had no trouble getting up! I was still feeling a major adrenaline rush!
I got up and got ready for the day while Miguel snoozed a little while longer. Then, he got up and showered while I tidied up our room and I got all of our wedding weekend bags packed. Since we weren’t taking those suitcases with us to Disney, we needed someone to come by and pick them up, along with my dress and Miguel’s tux. Around 10:00, my dad stopped by. It was nice to see him before we left, and it was fun to talk about the wedding!
We spent the remainder of our time in our lovely suite just lounging around and soaking in our first morning as a married couple.
http://i826.photobucket.com/albums/zz185/carrottop4888/Honeymoon%20-%20Arrival%20Day/6a3155e8.jpg
Soon enough, the excitement got to be too much so we grabbed our bags headed out!
http://i826.photobucket.com/albums/zz185/carrottop4888/Honeymoon%20-%20Arrival%20Day/f791db0e.jpg
The St. Regis is such a beautiful hotel, and I just had to take more pictures!
http://i826.photobucket.com/albums/zz185/carrottop4888/Honeymoon%20-%20Arrival%20Day/783dd874.jpg

http://i826.photobucket.com/albums/zz185/carrottop4888/Honeymoon%20-%20Arrival%20Day/1f886488.jpg
We made it out of the St. Regis right on time at 11:00, and soon after made our first stop for the day – to fill up the gas tank!
http://i826.photobucket.com/albums/zz185/carrottop4888/Honeymoon%20-%20Arrival%20Day/ee5be34e.jpg
Then it was on to the open road! We made it through downtown Atlanta with ease (which is pretty surprising, since there is always traffic) and pretty soon we were passing the airport. It’s always fun to spot the planes landing and taking off. I like to think of the ride down to Orlando as a series of small destinations, and in just over an hour, we made it to our first: Interstate 475, which bypasses Macon.
http://i826.photobucket.com/albums/zz185/carrottop4888/Honeymoon%20-%20Arrival%20Day/f641f0b1.jpg
By this point, Miguel was pretty tired, so he snoozed for a bit. It’s hard work being the passenger! LOL
http://i826.photobucket.com/albums/zz185/carrottop4888/Honeymoon%20-%20Arrival%20Day/e63e8cd8.jpg
Meanwhile, I tried not to get too distracted by my new bling!
http://i826.photobucket.com/albums/zz185/carrottop4888/Honeymoon%20-%20Arrival%20Day/8a1cdb80.jpg
Somewhere after Macon, my grandmother called and we spent over an hour talking about the wedding. We were all on cloud nine, and we just couldn’t help but talk about it! It really helped to pass the time!
Our next, mini-destination: Perry, Georgia, the home of the GA state fair grounds.
http://i826.photobucket.com/albums/zz185/carrottop4888/Honeymoon%20-%20Arrival%20Day/1a7b57f4.jpg
Finally, Miguel woke up!
http://i826.photobucket.com/albums/zz185/carrottop4888/Honeymoon%20-%20Arrival%20Day/88f4de5f.jpg
Around 2:30, we made it to the half-way point of our trip: Valdosta!

I decided to stop for some gas in hopes of not needing to fill up before Disney. It was nice to stretch our legs a bit, too.

It wasn’t too long before we had made it to Florida!
http://i826.photobucket.com/albums/zz185/carrottop4888/Honeymoon%20-%20Arrival%20Day/9f5d9d36.jpg
And then to Gainesville!
http://i826.photobucket.com/albums/zz185/carrottop4888/Honeymoon%20-%20Arrival%20Day/1a15f434.jpg
And then Ocala! Now we were really getting excited! We only had about an hour and a half left on our journey!
http://i826.photobucket.com/albums/zz185/carrottop4888/Honeymoon%20-%20Arrival%20Day/e62169c4.jpg
It’s always so exciting to see the sign for the Turnpike. I consider that to be the final, mini-destination before the big destination!
http://i826.photobucket.com/albums/zz185/carrottop4888/Honeymoon%20-%20Arrival%20Day/3c080783.jpg
Of course, the Turnpike also means tolls! $2.50 to be exact!
http://i826.photobucket.com/albums/zz185/carrottop4888/Honeymoon%20-%20Arrival%20Day/bb463bbd.jpg
Even though I had hoped to not have to stop for more gas, I figured it was a good idea to go ahead and head to another gas station so we would have a full tank for driving in Disney, so we stopped at one of the Turnpike’s service stations and filled up. Someone noticed my Bride tee and told me congratulations!
http://i826.photobucket.com/albums/zz185/carrottop4888/Honeymoon%20-%20Arrival%20Day/0dd9fa78.jpg

http://i826.photobucket.com/albums/zz185/carrottop4888/Honeymoon%20-%20Arrival%20Day/b30595f8.jpg
And finally, after 7 hours in the car we saw the most beautiful sign of all! We had made it! After more than a year of planning, it was finally time for our honeymoon to begin!

Woo hoo! So glad you're here, Jennifer! :woohoo:
As for my hair, I normally just use mouse and hair spray. My favorite mouse is Paul Mitchell in the purple bottle (although I don't think that's what I had on this trip). It holds really well, though. :thumbsup2

Are you getting used to calling Miguel your husband? I know it is wierd at first, but you will get used to it quick and it's so awesome :)
I am right there with you about wanting enough gas in the car so you don't have to stop later on. I dislike when my tank goes under 1/4 of a tank when I know I have a bunch of driving to do!

It's definitely taking some getting used to! The hardest thing right now is the new last name. I've switched it over at work now, and socially, but legally it's still my maiden name (our certified copies just came in so hopefully I can make it over to the SS office soon) so I feel like I can't sign anything with my new last name now. I kind of feel like I don't even have a last name at the moment! :lmao:

We were very lucky in that we actually got a good amount of sleep the night of the wedding. We were back at our hotel a little after 11:00 and asleep by 1:00 or so, so we got a full 8 hours, which is way more than I get on a regular night! :thumbsup2

By this point, Miguel was pretty tired, so he snoozed for a bit. It’s hard work being the passenger! LOL

Haha, very carefully! I hate to say, but I took so many pictures while driving on this trip. Pretty much all of them are one's that I got (except for the Disney sign, Miguel decided to take over there). I'll blame it on the fact that Miguel wasn't awake to talk to me! :lmao:

ARRIVAL DAY – Pt. 2
When I last left off, Miguel and I had just laid our eyes on this beautiful sight and we left the real world and entered the world of fantasy and magic for 12 days! Bye-bye real world! Hello Disney World!
http://i826.photobucket.com/albums/zz185/carrottop4888/Honeymoon%20-%20Arrival%20Day/1c607c7a.jpg
Mundane things like road signs and buses seem much more exciting when they’re in Disney, and we’re always so happy to see them for the first time!
http://i826.photobucket.com/albums/zz185/carrottop4888/Honeymoon%20-%20Arrival%20Day/ace45505.jpg
We followed those lovely signs until we reached the entrance to the MK parking area!
http://i826.photobucket.com/albums/zz185/carrottop4888/Honeymoon%20-%20Arrival%20Day/40c69536.jpg
This was our first time staying at an MK area resort and I was so excited to go through the parking booth to get there! I got over in the far right hand lane, told them we were checking in at the Poly, and off we went! I was a little worried about getting to the Poly, since we had gotten a little turned around before when we came over for dinner on our November trip, and also when we drove to the GF for dinner there once, but luckily, it was super easy to find our resort, and we were entering our tropical paradise in no time!
http://i826.photobucket.com/albums/zz185/carrottop4888/Honeymoon%20-%20Arrival%20Day/3faf9ef5.jpg
http://i826.photobucket.com/albums/zz185/carrottop4888/Honeymoon%20-%20Arrival%20Day/2a75529f.jpg
After a quick stop at the security booth to get my parking pass, we easily navigated the Poly parking lot, parked the car, and got ready to head into the GCH for the first time!
http://i826.photobucket.com/albums/zz185/carrottop4888/Honeymoon%20-%20Arrival%20Day/82c9f339.jpg
As soon as we approached the entrance to the GCH, I knew without a doubt that we had picked the perfect resort for our honeymoon. I instantly felt transported away into the tropics. The entrance to the Poly is so beautiful!
http://i826.photobucket.com/albums/zz185/carrottop4888/Honeymoon%20-%20Arrival%20Day/3a695289.jpg

http://i826.photobucket.com/albums/zz185/carrottop4888/Honeymoon%20-%20Arrival%20Day/6d2c3849.jpg
Once we had taken in the beauty that is the GCH, it was time for the moment of truth! Time to check in! In an effort to save money, I booked us in a Garden View room and had kept my fingers crossed from some pixie dust that would get us an upgrade. I also had requested a specific longhouse, Tokelau, after some great recommendations here. Normally Miguel just kind of wanders around when I check in, but when we’re trying for an upgrade, I always make him come to the desk with me! LOL. It did work for us at AKL, though, so I was hoping it would here, too!
The nice CM checking us in asked if we were celebrating anything special, and I of course told her it was our honeymoon. She got so excited and made a big fuss out of it. She even printed my KTTW with my new last name, and made me sign it for the first time! Then, she opened up a drawer, and I could tell she was going for the buttons! If you read along with my PTR, then you know that after some reading here, I decided we had to have the Just Married buttons since they seem to encourage more congratulations and pixie dust (all honeymooners used to get them, but now they are reserved for couples getting married on Disney property only, and everyone else gets Happily Ever After buttons). I had actually ordered the Just Married buttons on Ebay just a week before our trip, since I was fully expecting to get the Happily Ever After ones. Well, to my surprise, the CM pulled out the Just Married buttons and handed them over to us! Even though we didn’t need them, I was so excited to get them since I knew how elusive they are. I think she actually realized her mistake, because she reached back into the drawer and got some Happily Ever After ones for us as well!
http://i826.photobucket.com/albums/zz185/carrottop4888/Honeymoon%20-%20Arrival%20Day/55ff8cf0.jpg
She also let another CM know that we were there celebrating our marriage, and he disappeared into a back room. I was secretly hoping that he was arranging for an upgrade, but he eventually came out with two to-go boxes filled with flowers. It turned out to be real flower leis (instead of the fake ones they give everyone checking in), which they give to honeymooners. I’ll have a picture of them once we get into the room!
Ok, finally time to find out about our room! The CM pulled out the map and circled a longhouse right next to the GCH – Rarotonga, so I knew then that we hadn’t gotten our request of Tokelau. It also seemed from the picture that this particular longhouse didn’t have any MK views, but I kept my hopes up. She gave us some directions, and off we went.
We actually got a little turned around looking for Rarotonga, and we eventually realized that we had exited out of the wrong door at the GCH. So, back in we went and then finally we found it!
http://i826.photobucket.com/albums/zz185/carrottop4888/Honeymoon%20-%20Arrival%20Day/c6dbb00f.jpg
Rarotonga is literally steps from the GCH. In fact, I am pretty sure it is the closest longhouse to it. It is also just steps from the Volcano pool, the quiet pool, Captain Cooks and the parking lot. It ended up being the perfect location, since we utilized all of these things frequently. In the end, I was pleased that we didn’t get out LH request, because I just don’t think we would have been as happy at another. We will definitely request Rarotonga when and if we return to the Poly!
We made our way up to the third floor, and to our room! The first thing I did was to look out the window. This was our view!
http://i826.photobucket.com/albums/zz185/carrottop4888/Honeymoon%20-%20Arrival%20Day/d7b058db.jpg
So sadly, no view of the castle, but the view ended up being perfect for us. I think for a Garden View, a view of the quiet pool was not bad at all. And, we later found out that we could see Wishes from our balcony! (Well, kind of the top half of Wishes, but it’s better than nothing!) We actually ended up seeing at least some part of the show every single night we were there.
Here are our lei pictures that I promised! Sorry the one of me is so blurry!

I finished up taking some pictures while Miguel slept and then I went out on the balcony to call my family and let then know that we had made it. When I called me dad, he told me that he had been calling the Poly all week trying to get us upgraded, but nothing was available. After I thanked him many times, I assured him that we would be perfectly fine in our current location, and that we loved it so far!
Apparently, Miguel wasn’t too tired because he woke up soon after I started unpacking. He was still tired enough to lay there and watched while I did all the work, though! Haha.
http://i826.photobucket.com/albums/zz185/carrottop4888/Honeymoon%20-%20Arrival%20Day/1b022623.jpg
I didn’t take too long for me to get the suitcases unpacked, since I had put all of our park clothes in Ziplock bags. I just put all the bags in a drawer, and then we each had a separate drawer for shorts, and one for bathing suits. It worked out really well! I put all of our hanging clothes, my bags and our shoes in one section of the closet, and used the other side of the closet to store our suitcases.
http://i826.photobucket.com/albums/zz185/carrottop4888/Honeymoon%20-%20Arrival%20Day/5e5d6c69.jpg
After unpacking, we only had about 30 minutes or so until our dinner at ‘Ohana, so I freshened up a bit, and we both got dressed in our best tropical gear! We were excited for our first evening of our honeymoon!

This was such an exciting post to me and it made me completely jealous! I remember riding the boat back from a day at the Magic Kingdom when I was little and seeing the Poly all lit up at night. I swore up and down that I would honeymoon there when I grew up, but it just isn't in our budget. Maybe I'll at least talk the fiance into popping over for dinner.
Speaking of, I love the earrings that you wore to Ohana. My ears are stretched so I can only wear plugs. Since I can't wear normal earrings anymore, I constantly find myself "oohing" and "ahhing" over them.
Can't wait to read more.

You should definitely go over to the Poly one night for dinner! You really are transported away over there. It is a lovely place! :cloud9:
Even though it may not have the best view, it does sound like your room had the best location!
The location really was great. We loved Rarotonga! It's strange because that's never a longhouse that I hear about much here, but I really don't know how you could get a better location. And the view wasn't too bad! It was nice to be able to see at least some of Wishes! :thumbsup2
How sweet of your dad to try and get you guys an upgrade!!!!!! Too bad it didn't work out, but sweet nonetheless!
We had Ressies for dinner at Ohana but ended up skipping it (as we had gotten into a small fight beforehand and hadn't made up yet!) so it is on my list for next trip as a MUST do! WE have done b'fast there twice before and enjoyed it, but dinner always sounds so yummy!
As for Miguel sitting there watching you unpack...welcome to marriage!!! LOL! Just kidding, but it does sound like something my DH will do...watch me do while he sits!
It was very sweet of him! :cloud9: You must do 'Ohana for dinner! It is our absolute favorite! It's great if you can get an ADR around Wishes, too. :thumbsup2

I am loving your TR thus far. Thanks for sharing your honeymoon with us. DH and I were trying to decide between a honeymoon in Disney or a honeymoon cruise and were persuaded by non Disney people to do the cruise (not disney). We had a great time but we have always wished we had done the Disneymoon instead. :rotfl: We have gone for the last 6 years in a row now and it is the only place (other than short beach trips) that we vacation as a family. Nothing like it. :goodvibes

ARRIVAL DAY – Pt. 3
After getting settled into our room at the Poly and changing out of our travel clothes and in to our “island gear” Miguel and I were ready to head out for our first meal at Disney: ‘Ohana! Miguel and I first fell in love with ‘Ohana after eating there for the first time on our January 2010 engagement celebration trip, and from the very beginning of my planning I knew that I wanted our first night at Disney to consist of dinner there followed by Wishes on the Poly beach!
It was on our way to dinner that we realized just what a great location Rarotonga was. Since we got a bit turned around getting to our room, I don’t think we were aware just how close we were to everything, but it literally took about 5 steps to get from our longhouse to the GCH. We quickly made our way up the stairs and over to the ‘Ohana check-in podium. We were handed our buzzer, and thankfully only had to wait about 5 minutes before it went off!
http://i826.photobucket.com/albums/zz185/carrottop4888/Honeymoon%20-%20Arrival%20Day/0666f6ac.jpg
On a side note – they have now moved the check-in podium to over by the stairs instead of by the bar, and I think it really helps. The check-in/waiting area seems much less crowded now!
As we were led to our table, we got the usual spill about the meaning of ‘Ohana and how much food we would be eating. We were very happy finally reach our destination at a table close to a window! We have been very lucky to get great tables at ‘Ohaha . This was our view.
http://i826.photobucket.com/albums/zz185/carrottop4888/Honeymoon%20-%20Arrival%20Day/41a16d3e.jpg
We couldn’t wait to get started on the bread! I have to limit myself, though. Can’t fill up too quickly!
http://i826.photobucket.com/albums/zz185/carrottop4888/Honeymoon%20-%20Arrival%20Day/3933970a.jpg
Before we could really get settled in, the entertainment lady (does anyone know her name) started her act right in front of our table.
3http://i826.photobucket.com/albums/zz185/carrottop4888/Honeymoon%20-%20Arrival%20Day/0d1d79b4.jpg
Man there were a lot of kids there! It kind of surprised us because it was so late and we had never seen so many, but our table was definitely in front of the action! It was cute to watch the kids, but that lady is really annoying. I hope I’m not the only one that feels that way. :confused3
Finally, cousin came over and we of course had to order some drinks. Miguel got his usual Lapu Lapu, but I wanted to try something different, as the Lapu is a little too strong for me since I don’t drink very often. I decided to try the Strawberry Daiquiri. The waiter looked at me like “are you sure”. In fact, he even asked “like, with alcohol???” Once I proved that I am able to have a real Daiquiri, he brought over our beverages.
http://i826.photobucket.com/albums/zz185/carrottop4888/Honeymoon%20-%20Arrival%20Day/75e01026.jpg
Oh my goodness, that Daiquiri was amazing! It started quite the trend for me on the honeymoon, and it became my go-to drink during the trip. Nothing was as good as the one at ‘Ohana’s, though! So, if you like that kind of drink, definitely try one!
It didn’t’ take long for our salad to arrive, either! This is always so tasty!
http://i826.photobucket.com/albums/zz185/carrottop4888/Honeymoon%20-%20Arrival%20Day/818bd6db.jpg
Yummy potstickers and chicken wings (well, yummy if you ask Miguel, I don’t care for the wings).
http://i826.photobucket.com/albums/zz185/carrottop4888/Honeymoon%20-%20Arrival%20Day/9d0528f8.jpg
Noodles and broccoli.
http://i826.photobucket.com/albums/zz185/carrottop4888/Honeymoon%20-%20Arrival%20Day/1ab5f649.jpg
Finally it was time for the good stuff! I am always on the brink of being stuffed when the meat finally starts coming around, though!
http://i826.photobucket.com/albums/zz185/carrottop4888/Honeymoon%20-%20Arrival%20Day/a7a41987.jpg
Sometime during the meat delivery, the lady started up her act again, and this time she was passing out leis to all of the kids. She was doing so right near our table, and at one point one flew out of her hand and landed on Miguel. She told him that he might as well have it, and gave him an extra one for “this 16 year old girl you have with you”. She actually sounded really angry when she said it, like she really thought I was some teenage and Miguel was just a dirty old man! I must have looked really young that night!
Oh well, at least we got some more leis to add to our collection!
http://i826.photobucket.com/albums/zz185/carrottop4888/Honeymoon%20-%20Arrival%20Day/8af58ce8.jpg
By the time the famous bread pudding arrived, we were both so full that even looking at food was making us sick. Yet somehow, I still managed to eat a few bites! It was amazing as always!
http://i826.photobucket.com/albums/zz185/carrottop4888/Honeymoon%20-%20Arrival%20Day/7d1d5513.jpg
After we had stuffed ourselves silly, we paid our bill and then spent some time just exploring the beauty of the GHC.

Around 9:45 we decided to make our way out to the pool area so that we could get our spot for Wishes.
http://i826.photobucket.com/albums/zz185/carrottop4888/Honeymoon%20-%20Arrival%20Day/cd4ee4f7.jpg
We ended up getting a couple towels and lying them on the “curb” so that we could put our feet in the sand, but not actually have to be in the sand. LOL.

The view from the Poly beach is absolutely beautiful at night. The lights from the GF twinkle in the distance, and the castle glows in front of you. It’s breathtaking and definitely romantic! While we waited for Wishes to start, we just soaked up the atmosphere and talked about how excited we were to finally be there – to finally be married!
Soon enough, Wishes started! The music was piped in and everyone on the beach went silent. With the exception of two pictures, I just enjoyed the show. To prove I was there, here are my two (terrible!) pictures.
http://i826.photobucket.com/albums/zz185/carrottop4888/Honeymoon%20-%20Arrival%20Day/2c5e7ddc.jpg
http://i826.photobucket.com/albums/zz185/carrottop4888/Honeymoon%20-%20Arrival%20Day/0194502d.jpg
The view of Wishes from the Poly beach can be summed up in one word: Amazing. This is definitely my new favorite spot to see the show. You really get a whole new perspective seeing it from a distance. I noticed things that I had never seen before while looking up on Main Street, like fireworks in the shapes of stars and hearts. I hope I’m not the only one who hadn’t noticed them before! LOL
After the show was over, we brushed the sand off of our feet and returned our towels. Before we went back to our room, we made a quick stop at Captain Cooks to buy our refillable mugs (which we LOVED, by the way. We will get them every time now!) and then it was off to bed! We had a big day the next day: our first full day at Disney!
Up Next: Breakfast at Crystal Palace!

I love 'Ohana! I definitely think we'll have to book it again for our next trip, and try getting a spot on the beach to watch the fireworks.
That's so funny about everybody thinking you're a youngin'! I work on a college campus, and I run into it all the time with people asking what year I am and what my major is. I'm just like, Um...I've worked here 4 years. haha.

Ugh, how annoying that the waiter and the entertainment lady thought you were underage. I get that all the time, and most of the time I just laugh it up, but it really did bother me when it happened at Narcoossee's.
Your first night sounds a lot like what I hope my first night to be, except replace leaving our rooms steps away from the GHC to leaving our rooms at POP, and eating at Kona instead of Ohana's. ;) I was already looking forward to watching Wishes from the Poly Beach, but you have just made me even more excited (if that's possible!). I'm hoping it will be romantic for us too.

Wow, first of all, how rude of the entertainer lady (idk what to call her either! lol!). You are youngish looking, but not underage imo! And Miguel doesn't look old either! Is there an age difference at all? I have just assumed you were both around the same age :) And if you aren't close in age, it's certainly not enough of a difference to where a cm should have made him out to be robbing the cradle! Sheesh!
But, other than that it sounds like your first night was amazing! Great food, great company and great fireworks to cap it off :lovestruc

The good thing about not checking the DIS for a while is that I get to read TWO great updates on your TR!
Reading about your Poly arrival really reminded me about all the great things about that resort. I think I am finally over my room experience and can go back to loving the place again!
So that singing lady is just obnoxious. When we were there in May, I couldn't help but get the impression that she thinks she's 'famous' and those kids should be honored to work with her. She was being so demanding when teaching them the dance, it was getting annoying listening to her correct them over and over when we were just trying to enjoy our dinner. I like the guy entertainer much better!

I love watching Wishes from the beach of the Poly, it's a much more relaxed atmosphere. Perfect way to end your arrival day!

How rude of that singing lady to say that! :headache: I've been to 'Ohanas about 15 times and she is ALWAYS there, I never get the guy. Her voice grates on me and the way she keeps talking over and over on the microphone about the kids or whatever. We ask for a table around the side of the restaurant when we check in and we've been pretty lucky not being right next to her so the noise from the restaurant kind of drowns her out. I would love 'Ohanas even more (if that's possible :) ) if they would just play nice Polynesian music and have a designated area where the kids can do their things instead of all around the restaurant.
Anyways, off my soap box now, what a perfect first evening at WDW! I always love arrival day/night when you feel like you have tons of time left and are just so excited to be there :cloud9:.

:confused3 I don't know why but I have a classic trend of being called young at Disney too... I know I look younger than I am but it always seems to be worse at Disney!
When I first turned 21 I was staying at the Boardwalk with my parents and went downstairs to get a cup of coffee one morning. The lady working asked if I was even old enough to be drinking coffee
The ME driver that trip was also very surprised to hear that I was 21... he thought I didn't even look old enough to drive :headache:
My last two trips I've had experiences ordering alcohol in World Showcase. Both times I've gotten drinks in the French Pavilion the bartender asks to see my I.D. then exclaimed "24! But that is my age too. You look so little!" And once in Japan when we were there with my parents and ordered a bottle of Plum Wine. She asked to see my I.D. and said something along those lines too "24? That's my age too! I would not have believed it!"
I guess they're just so use to dealing with younger people? It certainly gets old after a while though...
And don't worry, I never noticed the fireworks make shapes until we took a Wishes Cruise last December. DBF and I were sitting in the back of the boat when I exclaimed "Hey! Those fireworks make Christmas Presents!" :flower3: Needless to say I was laughed at. A lot.

How rude of the entertainment lady to say that! I have the same problem at Disney. When we were there for my college graduation, I kept getting handed children's menus! That's just me though. ;) Can't contain the snark monster.

How weird that you got such strange comments from the CMs there. Between the daiquiri and then the 16 yr old you must have looked really young! I think you should take it as a great complement! :goodvibes Btw, did cousin card you when you ordered the drink?
What a romantic night watching Wishes! Did they pump out the music to the beach?

sounds like a lovely first evening :goodvibes - nice to stay 'local' after the long drive there!
That is strange about the entertainer and server making comments about your age?! :confused3 Ohana was one of the few places we got ID-ed this trip (joked we must be looking old now ).. the server told us every single soft drink and soda that was available.. then I said "can I have a Lapu Lapu please?" :cutie:
Looking forward to reading about the next day!

Courtney, what a perfect first night!! I LOVE the Poly-- wish I could get Zach to agree to stay there!

Great update! I'm sorry about the waiter making the alcohol comment and that entertainment lady!
Wishes looks so amazing from the poly beach and very romantic!
The Poly beach is a great place to watch Wishes! It is definitely very romantic!
I'm just like, Um...I've worked here 4 years. haha.
I've never had people comment on me looking younger than I am, so it kind of shocked me! :lmao:
Ugh, how annoying that the waiter and the entertainment lady thought you were underage. I get that all the time, and most of the time I just laugh it up, but it really did bother me when it happened at Narcoossee's.
Your first night sounds a lot like what I hope my first night to be, except replace leaving our rooms steps away from the GHC to leaving our rooms at POP, and eating at Kona instead of Ohana's. ;) I was already looking forward to watching Wishes from the Poly Beach, but you have just made me even more excited (if that's possible!). I'm hoping it will be romantic for us too.
It's never really happened to me before, but it is kind of irritating. :headache:
I think you will love your first night! We will definitely be spending more time on the Poly beach in the future - whether we're staying there or not. It's such a great place to relax and watch Wishes. :thumbsup2
That food looks soooo good! Nom nom nom
I'm glad you didn't let that CMs comment get to you. I would have chimed up and said something to her. Put her in her place! Especially since she's annoying. IMO, though! :)
I absolutely loved watching Wishes from the Poly beach back in February. It is definitely romantic.
What a PERFECT way to start your honeymoon.
'Ohana is always so yummy! I've already started craving it! And that woman is so annoying! I wish they would tone her down a bit.
The food from O'hana looks great!! and Beautiful pics of the Poly!!
Thank you! We always find the food at 'Ohana to be very tasty! :thumbsup2
That's what really got me - I can see how I might look younger, but I don't think Miguel looks very old. He's a few years older than me, but not enough for it to be creepy! :lmao:

What a lovely first night!!! :goodvibes I make the 'Ohana recipe bread pudding several times a year at home - it's amazing!!! But I've never actually had it at 'Ohana! :rotfl: It's on the to-do list though! Sounds like an amazing viewing area for Wishes! :goodvibes Can't wait to read more!
I should make the 'Ohana bread pudding sometime! It would be nice to be able to have it when I wasn't so stuffed from all of the food there! :lmao:
That is a lot of food!! But it looks like very delicious food. :thumbsup2
I love the dress you wore this night, it's very pretty. Sounds like it was a perfect way to spend your first honeymoon evening. :lovestruc
I love watching Wishes from the Poly, it's a nice way to spend the night, see the fireworks and not have to worry about the Magic Kingdom crowds.
Thank you! It was a perfect way to start the honeymoon - nice and relaxing and romantic. :cloud9:
I'm glad you are finally feeling better about the Poly! I actually thought about you guys when we were checking in. I was hoping that we wouldn't end up with a dirty room like you!
I had no idea there was a man entertainer, too! I've never seen him before!
I love watching Wishes from the beach of the Poly, it's a much more relaxed atmosphere. Perfect way to end your arrival day!
I can't believe people kept thinking you were a teenager. :confused3 I would've thought the wedding bands would have been a hint that you weren't a kid.
Yeah, you would have thought the rings would have given it away! I guess we should have worn our Just Married buttons, but I thought it might clash with my dress! :lmao:
I never even knew there was a man - we've never gotten him either, but I sure hope we do next time! I agree that they should just do nice music, or maybe even have some sort of cut-off for the "entertainment" - like from 5-8 they do the kid stuff and then the rest of the night it's a little more adult friendly. :confused3
Wow! I cannot believe how the "entertainment lady" talked to you. I can feel your pain though, I am constantly getting mistaken for a teenager. Sometimes I don't know if I should feel complimented or offended by it :lmao: All things aside, I'm glad you had a nice meal at O'hanas - it's our new favorite as well!
I'm so glad I'm not the only one who apparently looks younger than I am! It sounds like it happens to a lot of us. I guess that will work well for us as we age, at least!

DAY 1 – Pt. 1
Our first full day at Disney started off bright and early. I set my alarm for 6:30 and didn’t have any trouble waking up shortly thereafter! I quickly got ready and got our daily ziplocks out of the drawer (I just love how simple this method is)! By the time I had my park bag packed, Miguel had showerd and gotten dressed and we were ready to go! We followed right along with our running theme of being right on time and we left our room at 7:27 – 3 mintues before my planned 7:30
http://i826.photobucket.com/albums/zz185/carrottop4888/Honeymoon%20-%20Day%201/c3a6e4a1.jpg
If you can't tell - we were really excited!
http://i826.photobucket.com/albums/zz185/carrottop4888/Honeymoon%20-%20Day%201/47fd8e9f.jpg
In to the GCH we went!
http://i826.photobucket.com/albums/zz185/carrottop4888/Honeymoon%20-%20Day%201/34fb0d54.jpg
Since this was our first time taking the monorail over to the MK, I wasn’t sure exactly how much time we would need to make it to the park in plenty of time for our 8:05 ADR at Crystal Palace, while still leaving some time for empty park pictures!
Just as we approached the Poly’s monorail platform, a train pulled away, but luckily another was only about 5 minutes behind it! We climbed aboard and enjoyed the quick and easy ride over to the Magic Kingdom.
http://i826.photobucket.com/albums/zz185/carrottop4888/Honeymoon%20-%20Day%201/9d60f77d.jpg
http://i826.photobucket.com/albums/zz185/carrottop4888/Honeymoon%20-%20Day%201/481c1ecc.jpg
The park entrance was already pretty crowded, which surprised me since it was still over an hour away from rope drop. There was a CM standing out directing the guests with reservations, so we followed his instructions and entered through the side entrance with plenty of time to snap some pictures before we needed to check in at CP.
http://i826.photobucket.com/albums/zz185/carrottop4888/Honeymoon%20-%20Day%201/af68c8af.jpg

http://i826.photobucket.com/albums/zz185/carrottop4888/Honeymoon%20-%20Day%201/985a811d.jpg
I was happy to see the PP photographers were all ready out since I had pre-ordered the CD for the first time and was determined to get my money’s worth! We stopped for a few shots and were told congratulations many times thanks to our Just Married buttons!

http://i826.photobucket.com/albums/zz185/carrottop4888/Honeymoon%20-%20Day%201/905ba22c.jpg
We wondered down Main Street and turned the corner to find that the CP entrance was just as crowded as the park entrance. We already knew that it was going to be a high-crowd week! Miguel stayed behind while I went to check in.

http://i826.photobucket.com/albums/zz185/carrottop4888/Honeymoon%20-%20Day%201/7dd10de6.jpg
Luckily, it only took about 10 minutes before our buzzer was going off and my name was called. In to CP we went and we were led to our table that was decorated for our celebration.

http://i826.photobucket.com/albums/zz185/carrottop4888/Honeymoon%20-%20Day%201/090673ac.jpg
Since we’ve only ever eaten lunch here, we were very excited to try the breakfast. I was especially excited to the famous puffed French toast. First though, we needed to visit with some old friends!
http://i826.photobucket.com/albums/zz185/carrottop4888/Honeymoon%20-%20Day%201/ad002398.jpg

http://i826.photobucket.com/albums/zz185/carrottop4888/Honeymoon%20-%20Day%201/66aef768.jpg
Pooh was so cute – when he saw our Just Married buttons he stood with his arms in front of his chest as to not make Miguel jealous! When Eyeore came by, he broke out of his sad shell and celebrated our honeymoon by “raising the roof”! I wish I had of caught that on camera. It was so cute!
Finally, it was time to make our way to the buffet!
http://i826.photobucket.com/albums/zz185/carrottop4888/Honeymoon%20-%20Day%201/b1651243.jpg
Is it just me, or are the plates at CP really small? They seemed like appetizer plates to me. With so many yummy foods calling my name, I decided to remedy the situation by just taking two plates! I figured that would be easier than having to go back to the buffet and I don’t like piling my food on top of each other. From the left going clockwise I had the vegetable fritatta, raspberry crumb cake, Mickey waffle, sausage, bacon and a biscuit with gravy.
http://i826.photobucket.com/albums/zz185/carrottop4888/Honeymoon%20-%20Day%201/3034dcd1.jpg
Plate number two had two pieces of the puffed French toast, breakfast pizza, strawberry yogurt and the potato casserole.
http://i826.photobucket.com/albums/zz185/carrottop4888/Honeymoon%20-%20Day%201/40938046.jpg
Miguel had no problem with pilling his up, though! From what I can tell, he had the potatoes, breakfast pizza, a piece of toast, regular eggs, vegetable frittata, bacon, sausage, and a strawberry.
http://i826.photobucket.com/albums/zz185/carrottop4888/Honeymoon%20-%20Day%201/61cf705e.jpg
We both really enjoyed our food. To me, the standouts were definitely the puffed French toast, the raspberry crumb cake and the potato casserole. The gravy for the buscuit was really good, too! There wasn’t a single item that I didn’t like.
About half-way through our meal Piglet and Tigger came over!

Piglet was just as sweet as Pooh and Eeyore and made a big fuss over our buttons. Tigger was pretty boring, though. I think this Tigger was just having an off day, because he had almost made it to our table when the little parade started and when it was over he just decided to skip over an entire section of tables until a CM finally reminded him that he had other parties to visit.
All in all, we really enjoyed our breakfast at CP. All of the food was really yummy, our server was sweet and attentive and nearly all of the character interactions were great. I’m not sure if we prefer breakfast or lunch at CP since they are both excellent options in their own way, buy I do know that we will definitely be back for breakfast!

I jsut spewed soda all over my computer screen!!! You plate (s) VS Miguel's plates!!!! LOL!!!! TOTALLy me and my DH!!!
And it looks like O'hana AND CP (bfast) are on my list for next trip!!! We did CP for dinner and enjoyed it, but it looks WAY better than CM for b'fast (which we have done twice)!
I was hoping you had posted something today...I started back to work after my 10wk maternity leave (I work 2, 12 hour shifts, Sat and Sun) so I was looking forward to coming home and reading something other than patient charts, and you didn't dissapoint!

We have never been to the CP, or many other table service restaurants. I don't like to take the time and DH is too cheap. We are usually counter service all the way but we may have to try CP for breakfast. The food looks so good.

Breakfast at CP looked great. I've heard so many positive things about the puffed French toast...and it looked delicious in your pictures!
I thought the Eyeore and Miguel picture was hilarious. I don't think I've seen Eyeore put his ears on somebody's head before. :thumbsup2

All caught up!!! You are having a great first day so far!!! I hear you about being perceived as young. Firstly, I have JUST (at 33) stopped getting carded for R rated movies. Secondly, you would not believe how rude people were when I was pregnant (with my first, at 24, especially). People would GAPE at dh and I and ALWAYS look for a wedding ring. The best was when I was 9 months pg with my 3rd. We were at sam's club and I had my 2 nieces (11 and 9 at the time) with us. Dh had gone off, so I was pushing a 2 year old in the cart, and my 4 year old and 2 nieces were walking next to the cart. It was about to pop, I was so huge. 3 sets of people stopped and stared and one actually pointed. I laughed out loud when I realized I looked like a young mom with 4 kids and 1 on the way. I just smiled, waved, and went on my way! :lmao:
You are both cuties, by the way. I can't wait to read about the rest of your trip!!!

I just went back and read your wedding recap. Wow! What a wonderful (and gorgeous!) wedding!! It literally gave me chills when you talked about walking to the ceremony, right before it was about to start. I'm sure it's a moment you want to savor and last awhile, but at the same time you want to sprint down the aisle. And I hear you about the father/daughter dance! I love my father, but I'm almost considering taking out dancing all together at my reception so I wouldn't have to deal with that. All the people staring and women getting emotional, no thanks! :)
Can't wait for the next TR update! :goodvibes

Day 1 – Pt. 2
When we left CP, we were expecting to get a bit of a head start on the crowds, but I couldn’t believe how many had already poured in to the MK!
http://i826.photobucket.com/albums/zz185/carrottop4888/Honeymoon%20-%20Day%201/6b3f7b31.jpg
That was ok, though. We were just so happy to finally be on our honeymoon! The first day of vacation really is the best!
http://i826.photobucket.com/albums/zz185/carrottop4888/Honeymoon%20-%20Day%201/16410d06.jpg
Thankfully though, it seemed like the majority of the crowd were headed to Fantasyland, so once we made it through the hub it was easy to make our way to Tomorrowland to grab our traditional first-of-the-morning Space Mountain FPs.
http://i826.photobucket.com/albums/zz185/carrottop4888/Honeymoon%20-%20Day%201/0719998b.jpg
http://i826.photobucket.com/albums/zz185/carrottop4888/Honeymoon%20-%20Day%201/4e3ab900.jpg
http://i826.photobucket.com/albums/zz185/carrottop4888/Honeymoon%20-%20Day%201/48d152af.jpg
http://i826.photobucket.com/albums/zz185/carrottop4888/Honeymoon%20-%20Day%201/966d621d.jpg
While in Tomorrowland, Miguel decided that he wanted to take a spin around the Speedway since it is always so crowded. I am not sure what the appeal is for him for this ride, but keeping with my vow to veer off the plan if need be, I said ok. Once he saw that the wait time was already 20 minutes, though, he relented that the original plan of BTMRR was a better idea. :thumbsup2
On the way to Frontierland, we stopped for some pictures with the castle!
http://i826.photobucket.com/albums/zz185/carrottop4888/Honeymoon%20-%20Day%201/8725d137.jpg
http://i826.photobucket.com/albums/zz185/carrottop4888/Honeymoon%20-%20Day%201/328bd119.jpg
We then crossed through the hub and made it to Liberty Square. Believe it or not, but I have never noticed the Liberty Bell before. Naturally, we had to stop for a picture!
http://i826.photobucket.com/albums/zz185/carrottop4888/Honeymoon%20-%20Day%201/4acf80be.jpg
We decided to take the walkway over to the back of Frontierland. On the way, we passed by Miguel’s favorite spot – the Shooting Arcade – and noticed that it was closed.
http://i826.photobucket.com/albums/zz185/carrottop4888/Honeymoon%20-%20Day%201/ab12535d.jpg
I told Miguel to make a sad face since his favorite attraction wasn’t open – this is what I got.
http://i826.photobucket.com/albums/zz185/carrottop4888/Honeymoon%20-%20Day%201/98645374.jpg
Secretly, I was kind of happy that it was closed. :rolleyes1 If you've read my previous TRs, then you know that Miguel could easily spend an hour here!
After Miguel "grieved" over the Shoorting Arcade, we continued to make our way down the walkway. Since it was still so early in the morning, there wasn't too many people over there yet, and the weather was still comfortable. It was a lovely walk with some beautiful scenery!

http://i826.photobucket.com/albums/zz185/carrottop4888/Honeymoon%20-%20Day%201/992e0441.jpg
One day I want to go to Tom Sawyer Island to look for the paintbrushes. Has anyone every found them?
Finally, it was time for BTMRR! The posted wait time was 10 minutes I believe, but it was really a walk-on.
http://i826.photobucket.com/albums/zz185/carrottop4888/Honeymoon%20-%20Day%201/aacbe96d.jpg

http://i826.photobucket.com/albums/zz185/carrottop4888/Honeymoon%20-%20Day%201/8ced1265.jpg
Afterwards, I thought it would be a good idea to go over to the Haunted Mansion while we waited for our FP window to open so we could get passes for Splash, but Miguel had another idea. He wanted to ride Splash right then! Normally I only ride water rides at the end of the day, but because there was only a 5 minute wait and it was already really hot, I gave in and off we went!
http://i826.photobucket.com/albums/zz185/carrottop4888/Honeymoon%20-%20Day%201/f682a183.jpg

http://i826.photobucket.com/albums/zz185/carrottop4888/Honeymoon%20-%20Day%201/0893157a.jpg
While in line, I realized that there was no way that my camera would fit in my purse and I started to panic about it getting soaked. Miguel then whipped out a ziplock bag and said we could put it in there. What a great idea! Why hadn’t I thought of this? I’m not sure if it was intentional or not, since it was actually the bag that his clothes for the day were packed in, but it worked out really well! Our camera and phones stayed completely dry and we only got a little wet. We had so much fun that we decided to load up on a couple more Fast Passes.

Wow, there were already lots of people there!
Miguel looks so excited to be at MK!
Carrying a ziplock bag is a great idea. We had done it for Kali River Rapid, but for some reason it had never occurred to us that you could get really wet on Splash Mountain as well. A little wet, sure, but nothing much. We got lucky that we didn't get wet at all, but next time I'm making sure I have something to protect my stuff!
Looks like you had a very good first morning so far, but I'm afraid of what's coming next!

I've never been to TSI either but my camp counselor from when I was in middle school found one and her photo of one of the paintbrushes is actually in one of the DW guidebooks!
Wow! That's a crowd all right! Summer is busy in WDW, though.

It was so crowded for being early! Miguel and Mike think alike, he always brings ziplocs with him any time he will be on water rides, so he can store his phone, wallet and camera! I mock him mercilessly for it :rotfl2:
And poor Miguel, lines at the speedway and no shooting! Poor guy can't catch a break. We had gone on the speedway once, and I have to say that I don't get the appeal either..but you are right, it seems like a lot of people want to wait in line to drive a car around in a circle!:rotfl:

:rotfl:
It was great to see Miguel had a Ziploc bag for your electronics on Splash! I'm sure the ride wouldn't have been as fun if you had to worry about your items getting wet the whole time.

We were both so happy to be there! I love that picture of Miguel. :cloud9:
We will always take a ziplock now! I can't believe I didn't think of it sooner!
Ohhh I can't wait to see pictures of the new queue at Haunted Mansion!
Tell me more about these Tom Sawyer Island paint brushes...
Apparently, there are these special brushes on TSI and if you find one, you get a special fast pass. I've heard you have to get there really early to find them, though. Maybe one day! :goodvibes
I've never been to TSI either but my camp counselor from when I was in middle school found one and her photo of one of the paintbrushes is actually in one of the DW guidebooks!

I had forgotten just how busy Disney during the summer was (it's been years since I'd been) but we were quickly reminded! Thankfully we still didn't do too much waiting in line - maybe a little more than usual, but nothing unbearable. :thumbsup2

It was packed that day! We thought for sure we'd have an hour or two before the crowds poured it, but apparently not!
I don't understand the speedway either. Well, maybe for little kids, but adults? I have no idea why Miguel wanted to ride it so badly. :confused3 But then again, I haven't really figured out why he likes to pay $1 to shoot a fake gun at little red dots either. :lmao:

Ask away! We've stayed at both POFQ and POR. I would highly recommend POFQ - it has always been a favorite of mine. I stayed there a lot when I was younger and it was just plain old Port Orleans. I think it would especially be good if it's an adults-only trip (fun!). It has a really romantic vibe, especially at night! It's so peaceful and quaint. The size is great, too. I think you would like a smaller size since you guys normally do deluxe, right? I find that most mods are too big. I don't like to have to walk a lot at my resort when I'm walking in the parks all day! I can't say enough about POFQ, really. In my opinion, you can't go wrong there! :thumbsup2

The year we found one of the paint brushes we were on the first raft over to Tom Sawyer Island. The CM told us about them on the ride over. My 3 grandsons had a blast looking for them. An older couple spotted one of the 5 paint brushes hidden on the island and pointed it out to us. So, we casually walked by and let the boys "find" it. They were thrilled and it was so nice of that couple to let the boys find the paint brush. We got a fast pass to BTMR to use any time we wanted. We were there at a very slow time, so we really didn't need it. The best part was just running all over the island to try and find the paint brush. It was really cool!

DAY 1 - Pt. 3
When I last left off, we had just finished up an fun ride on Splash Mountain, and were headed to Liberty Square to visit all of the happy haunts at the Haunted Mansion!

I ended up having to drag Miguel away from the "games" so we could actually go inside!
HM was fun as always and I was surprised to find that there was a new feature added towards the end of the ride, too. I won’t give it away for those who haven’t ridden yet!
When we left HM, I remembered reading about the kitchen items store that was near-by and persuaded Miguel to pop in for a minute. Thankfully with the heat, it didn’t take much to convince him to go in any store on this trip!

http://i826.photobucket.com/albums/zz185/carrottop4888/Honeymoon%20-%20Day%201/7ce82741.jpg
Since I wanted to do more souvie buying than normal on this trip, I figured a kitchen store would be the perfect place to get started. I find that I have a hard time spending money on souvineers because I can’t find a use for them. But, I love to cook and I love all things kitchen-related, so I knew that I could find something useful in this store. And I did! I hate drinking without a straw, so I got a cute pack of reusable straws and I am always looking for a bag clip, so I got a set of those, too!

http://i826.photobucket.com/albums/zz185/carrottop4888/Honeymoon%20-%20Day%201/10e66218.jpg
After our shopping, we headed over to Adventureland to check out the wait times for Pirates, which thankfully was another was a walk on! It was here that we ran in to them…you know who. The Brazillian tour groups!
While we have spotted them during every Disney trip we’ve been on, these were definitely the worst behaved. They just kept screaming for no reason, and no one was making them stop. Probably because there was only one adult chaperone to about 100 kids. That just doesn’t make sense.
Lucky us, we were smushed right in the middle of them. Now, we didn’t do that intentionally, but when we were walking in to the line, a group ran past us and the other portion of the group hudled behind us and we were trapped! Thankfully, a kind CM noticed that we didn’t belong and pulled us out of the group so that we could board a separate, much quiter boat.
We always like browsing through the shop after exiting POTC. There are so many neat things in there!

http://i826.photobucket.com/albums/zz185/carrottop4888/Honeymoon%20-%20Day%201/11a4fafa.jpg
Soon enough, the Brazillians poured in, so we decided to get out of Adventureland! It seemed like a good time to head back to Tomorrowland to use our Space Mountain FP’s. Miguel decided to take us the long way to Tomorrowland, taking us through the very croweded Fantasyland. Probably not the best idea - but hey, I was going with the flow!
http://i826.photobucket.com/albums/zz185/carrottop4888/Honeymoon%20-%20Day%201/d2fb5796.jpg
We had almost made it to our destination when a CM noticed our Just Married buttons and decided to have a little photoshoot of his own. It was fun at first, but he went on and on and on telling us to stand here, no there, turn this way, no that way. By the end we were tired, hot and embarrassed. At least we got a few cute pictures out of it
http://i826.photobucket.com/albums/zz185/carrottop4888/Honeymoon%20-%20Day%201/087238b0.jpg
http://i826.photobucket.com/albums/zz185/carrottop4888/Honeymoon%20-%20Day%201/ad258125.jpg
We finally made it to Space Mountain, but when we got there, we were told the ride was temporarily down. Back across the park we went to use our Splash Mountain FPs, but when we got there, we were informed that that mountain was closed, too!
By this point, we were tired of criss-crossing the park and were quickly roasting in the hot sun. So, we decided to forgo the FPs and just head on back to the Poly.
Once we got back to the Poly, I was hungry for some lunch so I headed down to Captain Cooks for some food to take back to the room. After remembering reading about it here on the DIS, I decided on the Aloha pork sandwich with the Polynesian chips. It was a very good choice! The sandwich was very tasty and it was huge! The homemade chips were nice and crispy and had a really good flavor.

That stinks both Space and Splash were closed..talk about bad timing!
That's funny about your mini photoshoot. DF and I wouldn't been dying of embarrassment. You two were good sports :thumbsup2

I too want to spend more than usual on souvenir for this trip. I figure it's our honeymoon, plus we got money as gifts, so we might as well spend it at Disney! I also want to use those gifts to experience a few extras, like the mini golf. :wizard:
I LOVE homemade chips. Yummy! popcorn::
Ugh, going all the way across the park twice to find the mountains closed, that sucks. :headache: I think it's in times like these that the Lines application for Smartphones would be useful. DH actually just got a smartphone, but without a data plan, so no Lines for us.

I'm so glad they pulled you out of the tour group so you could ride a quieter boat. Nice CMs there! :thumbsup2
Criss crossing the park in the heat is never fun, I think it was a good idea to head back for some rest and relaxation at the Poly. :thumbsup2

I had no idea there was a kitchen store in MK! I love looking at all the stuff they have in the World of Disney store though! It's so much fun to have Mickey stuff in the kitchen!
That really stinks that both Mountains were down!! No fun!:sad2:
That BBQ sandwich looked really good!!

I really like the picture of you and Miguel were you are just about to kiss and you can see part of the castle in the background, very fairy tale like and it was shot at a great angle. Can't wait to hear more! I hope you guys are enjoying married life!

Great update, as always, Courtney! Auuuugh, tour groups! They should hire paid chaperones to watch those kids in no more than groups of five. The numbers in which the congregate are ridiculous! I hope we avoid them in August!
Love those bag clips-- I've never been in that store before! Definitely will have to pop in!

I have been reading about that Aloha Pork Sandwich...I am definitely trying that on my next trip!
I cannot imagine being mushed in between a large tour group in line like that -- especially pirates where it's so echo-y!

I enjoyed the new addition to HM, as well, it was cute.
Oh no! I can't believe both Mountains were closed! Especially since you had FPs for the two. That was a bummer, but it was nice to see you two got to relax and eat a tasty lunch instead.
I'm glad I've never seen the Kitchen Store before! I would spend way too much in there. :rotfl: I might have to search for those bag clips, though, they looked really cute!:thumbsup2

I love that kitchen store! Stumbled across it on our last trip when it was too COLD to stay outside :lmao: I think your DH is getting really use to you snapping Trip Report pictures---he is like a pro TR model now! ha!
My DH had the pulled pork sand. from Captain Cooks, and really liked it. Can't wait to hear about your next adventure :goodvibes

Aww, your little photo shoot was so cute! :lovestruc I agree though, when they make you do weird poses, it's a little embarrassing! On PP photographer did that to us on our Disneymoon, and I felt so stupid! :rotfl: But at least you get some cute pictures out of it! :thumbsup2

Hi Courtney,
Sounded like a fun day in Magic Kingdom - loved how you described the Cast Member 'rescuing' you two from the sea of Brazilians! Nice that they noticed :goodvibes we saw a few groups while we were there but we're getting good at making sure we get to an attraction before they do or choosing a different ride to go on :rolleyes1 hehe
I love all the Disney cookware - our kitchen is probably the most Disney room in our house, I have a lot of the classic Mickey range! :cutie:

I am glad that you are enjoying the Poly. I just think it is so romantic. Have you watched Wishes from the beach yet?
The Poly is definitely romantic! We loved it there! Yes, we watched Wishes there our first night. It's our new favorite spot to see the show! So peaceful and romantic, and a great view, too! :goodvibes

I'm just like you Courtney - I hate spending money on souvenirs that will never get used. Currently the only ones I have spent any money on are a rare couple of t-shirts, a travel mug and (my favorite of all favorites) a Camera strap :thumbsup2

Hi Everyone!
I'd like to take break from my regularly scheduled updating to point out my shiny new ticker!!! :woohoo: Yes, we've already got our next trip to Disney in the works! I normally don't mention anything about my next trip until I finish up a TR, but sine I know this TR is going to be kind of long and because the new trip is now less than 6 months away, I couldn't wait to put up a ticker! I will of course be doing a PTR, but I'll wait until this one is finished up since I discovered during my honeymoon PTR/November TR that I don't like having multiple reports to update. This is going to be a bit of a different Disney trip for us (you might notice my ticker says "Disney like it used to be" ;) ), so it should mean lots of exciting new planning topics, and I hope you will join in on the PTR when the time comes! :goodvibes
I was planning on getting an update up tonight, but I spent the last hour on the phone with Disney, so I'm feeling a bit behind. I promise to be back tomorrow to post an update and catch up on your reports! I hope everyone has had a great weekend!
