Welcome to yet another MeMom and Brooklynnsmommy trip report. This trip was our annual summer trip to Disney World. We had lots of pixie dust throughout the trip and made a ton of great memories. For those of you who have joined us in our past reports, we are glad that you have become our "crazy internet" friends. For those of you just joining us, we are excited to share our trip with you all. So let's get this trip report started, on to the introductions!

Where: Pop Century

When: July 1st - July 7th

Who:

Me - Jill - 29 year old mom to my beautiful sweet girls. I am the assistant director at a private preschool and love my job most days. On the days I don't love it so much I just remind myself it pays for my Disney addiction and trudge through. I love spending time with my family at my happy place. I love watching my girls immersed in the pixie dust and magic truly believing in every fairy, princess, and mouse. My favorite ride is Toy Story Mania and I love the chocolate croissants from the Main Street Bakery.

John - my DH - Not a Disney lover. He tolerates the trips, but is okay to stay behind and work when we head out on girls only trips. He is incredibly smart and works hard and long hours to provide for me and the girls. His favorite rides are Haunted Mansion and Pirates of the Caribbean. This trip he was very excited about eating at Ohana. He is a big fan of the giant cinnamon rolls at the Main Street Bakery.

http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f286/missjill5/Disney%20Summer%202011/Intro/IMG_3377.jpg

MeMom - my mom and Disney enabler - She loves spending time with her family especially her granddaughters. In the real world, she is a 2nd grade teacher who wouldn't talk to a stranger. At Disney she is a 20 year old who will strike up a conversation with people on a bus, in line, or anywhere else. She loves the zebra domes at Animal Kingdom Lodge and would one day love to retire and work at Animal Kingdom in the education department. She hates being in pictures and so I will go ahead and apologize now for posting the following picture.

http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f286/missjill5/Disney%20Summer%202011/Intro/IMG_2200.jpg

And the stars of all of our reports: My girls Brooklynn and Bellarie

http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f286/missjill5/Disney%20Summer%202011/Intro/IMG_1915.jpg

Brooklynn is my almost five year old. She will be starting Kindergarten in just a few weeks. She loves the thrill rides, Big Thunder, Test Track and as of this trip Space Mountain. If it goes fast she wants to ride it multiple times. She is a super sweet big sister and a sassy little diva. She loves the tie dyed cheesecake at Pop, Itzakadoozies, and the same cinnamon rolls as her daddy. This trip was her 15th.

http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f286/missjill5/Disney%20Summer%202011/Intro/272223_2013861338908_1015041877_2242186_513561_o.j pg

http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f286/missjill5/Disney%20Summer%202011/Intro/IMG_2190.jpg

Bellarie is my tiny two year old. She is super sweet, but also super stubborn. She speaks in precious "toddlerese" still, which is where the title of this report came from. She loves to ride the "hosies" and did so at least 6 times this trip. She conquered her first height restriction ride this trip. She loves the characters from a distance. We made great progress with her hesitation over the course of this trip. She loves frozen lemonade and pretzels. This was her 8th trip.

http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f286/missjill5/Disney%20Summer%202011/Intro/IMG_2195.jpg

http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f286/missjill5/Disney%20Summer%202011/Intro/IMG_2173.jpg

So that is the group and I'm sure MeMom will be on at 3:30 in the morning tomorrow to add her thoughts and get this report officially rolling.

She hates being in pictures and so I will go ahead and apologize now for posting the following picture.

You owe me way more than an apology for that picture!
A couple million dollars, maybe.
Or triplets. :dance3:

As much as I try to fluff out the hair in WDW, it goes flat by the time I get to the bus stop. :headache: The saving grace for that picture is that it had Bella in it.

Remind me to accidentally step on your camera next time I see you. ;)

So that is the group and I'm sure MeMom will be on at 3:30 in the morning tomorrow to add her thoughts and get this report officially rolling.

I would have been on at 3:30, but since you called at 10:06, I decided to go for an evening DIS viewing instead of waiting until morning.

Now that I have seen that picture of myself, though, I am afraid to sleep for fear that I may have nightmares. :scared1:

Great pic of John and the skewer! Did it live up to his expectations?

Brooklynnsmommy, I thought your favorite was a cherry turnover?

My favorite would be anything from the Main St. bakery. :lmao:

My husband, who is working from home today, rang me earlier and said "hun, Toby's received a post-card from Mickey Mouse - actually FROM America" - with a very puzzled tone to his voice!!!

I haven't seen it yet, nor has Toby (he's in nursery, I'm at work!) but a HUGE HUGE HUGE thank you to MeMom and Jill for doing something so kind, generous and thoughtful for me and my little boy all the way over the pond! THANK YOU!!! You really are special friends! :lovestruc

I can't wait to get home now, and see what Toby thinks to his post-card!!!!

You have posted more than enough unflattering pictures of me over the past 14 trip reports, that I get 1 picture a report to intro you.

I'm in!

Love the picture of memom.

Brooklynn has been to Disney more times than I have and live only 2.5 hrs away. I'm jealous! :lmao: Don't worry....i'm working on catching up to her.

The girls look beautiful as always!

I'm along for another ride with you guys. Love your TR's.

She has gone quite a few times and is now a pint size tour guide. If we lived that close our trips would be many many more! We always say if we were just 8 hours away we would be able to make more trips much easier.

Staying up late has its benefits because I am here right at the start!! Can't wait to read all about it!:goodvibes

I was determined to get it started so after I put the girls to bed I started working on it. I was up way past my bedtime. :)

What great pictures!! Your girls are just gorgeous!!!

Can't wait for more!!

Thanks! I'm pretty partial to them. Hopefully we will get this report really rolling soon. MeMom and Brooklynn will be leaving in 13 weeks on the next adventure.

Did I really, truly, FOR REAL, make the 1st page?!?!

Wonderful start Jill! The pic of MeMom made me SMILE! Woman, you are beautiful inside and out!

Brooklynn has always been a picture poser. She did that one all by herself on the last day. Bella is a pretty smiley girl which just makes me smile.

And I got first page. Awesome!

Hopefully, we will get our fist update up soon.

I'm here!! :goodvibes

Oh my goodness, Jill, these two pictures are what it's all about!!! :lovestruc

Yep, it is! When I took both of those pictures I immediately knew thye would be their intro pictures.

Great start! Your girls are beautiful and can I also say they have the most awesome names! :thumbsup2

Thank you on both counts. Brooklynn is just a name I always loved and my mom's middle name is Lynn so she that is why we spelled it that way. Bellarie is actually Isabella Marie, but when Brooklynn was 2 and we decided on her name she called her Bellarie and it has just stuck.

The girls have gotten so big. Can't wait to hear more. We canceled are Aug trip so I have to live thru everyones trip reports.

They are growing like weeds. So sorry to hear about your trip. It is hard to do the responsible hing sometimes. I am sad to have to be a responsible adult in October and not go but excited for Brooklynn to get a special trip with her MeMom.

I am looking forward to more Disney shopping, shows and rides. Plus don't forget early morning walks to the food court at Pop.popcorn::

Early morning walks? What are you talking about? ;)

Wow--I am amazed at the number of trips your girls have already taken to the World!! What a great way to measure their growth through pictures at your happy place:goodvibes:cool1:

Most people are a little shocked when I tell them how many trips the girls have taken. Brooklynn was 11 months old on her first trip and Bellarie was 3 and a half months old.

I'm here! I just love that picture of Brooklynn on Dumbo :goodvibes

She is pretty sassy!

Hi! Those pics of Brooklynn and Bella are adorable! They have taken an impressive number of trips to WDW. We're only a few hours away and you've had more trips than us!

Oh - and the picture of the skewer from Ohana just made me hungry!!!

It was a lot of fun to sort through the pictures and pick the perfect intro ones. John was very excited about the Ohana meal and it did not dissappoint.

Jill, Great start and introductions for all of your new "crazy internet friends!" The pictures of the girls are wonderful! Those two of them close up are perfectly frame worthly. Maybe side by sides for Memom instead of triplets? ;)

Memom- You intro picture is ideal for your - it's all about the grandbabies! You are lovely, though. I take tons of pictures and my sil would always try to get out of them. Finally, she just started to smile-- can Jill hope the same?

I'm here, I'm here!!! :)

So in trip news, I decided to hold off on the Labor Day trip. I got a bonus @ work and I'm using that to redecorate my deck & bathroom. The deck will be Beach Club inspired, and I'm copying MeMom's idea with an AKL Giraffe bathroom. So that's where that money is going. :) I'll for sure post pictures when I'm done!!

And Brook - my birthday is Feb 10th, so I am thinking I'll go that week. However....if you're there the last week of February, it would be fun to be there at the same time, and maybe meet up for a meal or two. Hmmm....I haven't booked it yet, because I'm still deciding on do I want to stay DVC, or another resort?? I'd like to stay in all eventually. What moderate is the best one, in your opinions???

I wondered that, too! :lmao: And would you have to put three quarters into the fountain all at the same time to ensure triplets?

I don't know MeMom and her magical quarters and fountain combo could probably make me have triplets.

My husband, who is working from home today, rang me earlier and said "hun, Toby's received a post-card from Mickey Mouse - actually FROM America" - with a very puzzled tone to his voice!!!

Congrats on booking the next trip!:cheer2:

Debby

Framed side by side pictures I can handle! Sounds like a much better idea than triplets! Booking the flights definitely helped eased the pain of returning to the real world.

I'm here! I can't believe you are already on page 3.

Glad you are here! You and Jeremy will be making a guest appearance on Day 2 which means we'll see your picture in September! :rotfl:

Wait for me!!!! I'm finally here!!! :cool1:

Less than 12 hours after it started and already on page 3...

We'll hold the bus long enough for you to jump on. We'll be updating soon.

I am here!!! Checking in from facebook...now to go back and start reading! yiipppyyyyy!!!! I loves me some trip reporting from Jill and Memom!! :cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1:

I don't usually put it on facebook but last time several people lost us as we transitioned from one report to the next so I thought that might help.

Bringing little bits of the World to your home sounds like an excellent way to spend your money and make the Magic last between trips. I have been contemplating changing the girls bathroom to a Pop Century theme. Still debating. I have stayed at Riverside, French Quarter, and caribbean Beach and liked the,m all for various reasons. If I had to choose I would probably say French Quarter is my favorite moderate.

I'm here for the report(rather than lurking:rolleyes:). I totally know what you mean Jill about working in a pre-school. I am an early years practitioner and love working with young children, but some days are really hard and there seems to be more and more paperwork everyday:confused3. Looking forward to this report and your girlies are super sweet as always princess:princess:

So glad you are not going to lurk this time. There are days that I just want to walk out the door and not come back for sure, but there are too many rewarding moments that make it all worth it.

Oh oh oh!!! Count me in!!! I just love your TR's!

Glad you made it over!

I think I would be scared. :lmao:

I am very scared!

I told MeMom no quarters for me when we were over there last week.

Dis time is definitely limited when you have real world duties - job, kids, etc. Even if you don't post much we know you check in when you can. Your trip is creeping closer and closer. I can't wait to see how Seth does on his first trip.

Wow, I sure am late to the party. Ah well, I made it and that's what's important.

I thought Jill's defense of having one pic of MeMom against so very many of herself is a sound one so I'm taking her side. Sorry MeMom. Although I DON'T agree that there have been several unflattering ones of Jill, I think you look great in all of them.

Speaking of pics I absolutely ADORE that pic of Brooklyn at the Dumbo ride. What a sweetie. I just want to pic her up and squeeze her tight. How jealous am I that she's been to Disney 15 times in her not quite 5 years with, what...two more trips in the works for 2011? So, so green with envy.

How many times has Bella been in her two years of life? I *might* have her beat. :rotfl:

So glad you've started. Can't wait for more!

As much as I try to fluff out the hair in WDW, it goes flat by the time I get to the bus stop. :headache: The saving grace for that picture is that it had Bella in it.

MeMom -- Next time you visit WDW, I will GLADLY trade you hair! I have the exact opposite problem! I try to make my hair flatter & for some reason, it just poofs up with the glorious Florida humidity! :headache:

I've been researching hair products on the DIS -- but this trip especially frightens me as my hair grows extra poofy whenever I'm pregnant! Yikes! It will make for one interesting TR once I return from WDW in September! :lmao: :lmao:

I am going to go under the assumption that Jill got everybody up to this point this morning when she had to leave for work. If she or I missed you, WELCOME! Make yourself at home here, chime in whenever, and let us get to know you better. We appreciate every one of our DIS friends, and it won't be good without all of you here.

Caren- that pic of you and Bella is great. So much love and nose pinching...

Blazing hot here, too. 110 heat index the past two days, I believe. Today is supposed to be normal.

Maybe we can get the video of Bella talking on the safari and go ahead and put it up early.

The party has just started, so you're not late. You know it'll last about 5 months, anyway!

If there is a word stronger than hate when it comes to me in pictures, that's how I feel about them. I have never taken a good picture. Ever.

Bella knows her way around Disney World now. You should have seen her after we checked in at Pop and tried to go to the front to move the car to our parking lot. She was heading straight to Everything Pop saying, "Eat!" She knew where the food was, man, and she was not having any part of heading out the front door. :rotfl:

Look back in the intro. I think Jill said it was maybe her eighth trip? I can't remember, but something close to that.

Looking forward to hearing all about your summer Disney trip! I'm glad I made it over before you officially start the report. I can relate as 'Ohana is one of our favorites as well. Poly was not as crowded as it has been in the past, in my opinion. Traffic getting out of there was a breeze, too. We were surprised.

Bella was pretty cute in that big Speedway car. Brooklynn thinks that is a cool ride, of course. She loves all the rides these days.

I'm super excited to follow your new trip report! I can pretty much assure you there are no axe murderers amongst us, though, so I think you are relatively safe. I hope our trips will overlap sometime so we can meet you - and them - in person.

Five pages? I really thought I'd make first....silly me. I'm totally in! Loved seeing all the pics on Facebook and so excited for this new report!

Next time Jill starts a report, I'll have her call you first and you can sneak in before anyone else. :)

Only the next time she starts a report will be when we get back in January, and you'll be too busy having fun in Disney World to care about our silly trip report. :upsidedow

I'm here and so excited to hear all about your trip! The pictures of the girls in the first post are just fabulous

Me too!

I agree about the cute pictures of the girls.

I'm going to have to beg Jill for triplets since my boys are never gonna give me grandkids. Drew doesn't need kids for like twenty years, and Trent is looking for perfection in a girl, and it ain't gonna happen, so I've given up on him.

Less than 24 hours since you started & here I am on page 5!

Going back to read the first page now! Excited to hear more!!!

Glad to have you here. This TR is just a baby right now. Brand new with lots of fun yet to come.

Jill was looking through pictures while we were on the trip, and those were two of her very favorites.

MeMom -- Next time you visit WDW, I will GLADLY trade you hair! I have the exact opposite problem! I try to make my hair flatter & for some reason, it just poofs up with the glorious Florida humidity!

My hair is baby fine, and there's not much of it. I have to poof it to make it look like I have some. As you can see, it doesn't do much good.

Jill, you do have some darling girls. Maybe one day our trips will over lap and Bella and Ty will hit it off since they both turned 2 in April! They are growing up on us!

MeMom, you look just fine in pictures but I am the exact same way. I only recently would even take a picture but when Ty came along I wanted to have some of me and him so he could look back and remember his Nonnie!
Don't give up on Trent yet! You know Sarah is single and we don't live that far from Nashville. She's not perfect but she is a hardworker, loyal and pretty good young lady if I do say so myself. (plus I think they have either texted or FB a bit) She said she would come with me to the next Nashville meet, so there ya go! LOl Plus I think we may be hitting up Orlando in the fall so I may get to make a Disney meet after all.

Ty says thanks again to Mickey and his special friends for the card. We keep it on the frig and he will ask for it a couple of times a day and name everyone one off and say DISNEY! It is so cute. I wish I could take him back sooner but it will most likely be Dec. 2012.

Well, if I lose 50 pounds, maybe I'll have a picture made willingly, but ever since my knee troubles started and I can't walk right, I've just given up on exercise. I need to swim, but I'm too scary to do that anywhere but a private pool, which I do not have. I'll figure out something, though, and get a few pounds off.

I think it is funny that Kay got lost on our spring trip and couldn't find her way around Pop, because it seems to simple to us,
and I could have sent a 4 year old out to lead her back to the room.

I'm here and ready to tag along! This will help with my wait til October! So sad that I will miss y'all this October! :sad1: Can't wait to hear all about the pixie dustpixiedust: and the girls accomplishments! :cheer2:

We much prefer flying, but driving will do when it's the only way to get there. If we lived a couple of hours closer, it would be dangerous.

Long weekends are fun, but they leave you wanting more. You get a good taste of Disneyness, and then it is time to come home.

Trent wants a 100% guarantee that his marriage will not end in divorce. I don't know that that is possible. I guess he'll be a lonely old man. Tanya wanted him to give her a ring on their one year anniversary, and when he didn't, she saw that as him not being committed. They decided it would be best for her to go back to Florida and just be friends. I think she will be happier down there, anyway, because all of her friends are there, and she has a better job there than she did here.

We are glad Ty likes his card. Mickey mail is always a day brightener.

Before we get on the road to this summer's Disney fun, I'll share a few pictures of the weekend before. Brooklynn had her dance recital, so Trent and I rode down for the evening.

Jill, Trent, Brooklynn, and I went to the school early,

http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f286/missjill5/Disney%20Summer%202011/disneysummmmer002.jpg

and Bella stayed back at the house to finish napping. John came later and brought his parents and Bella. Brooklynn also had some friends from school that came to see her, so she had quite a little fan club.

Pre-trip days were busy. I went to Alabama on Thursday morning. Jill and I went to pick up the van at lunchtime. In the evening, we took the girls to gymnastics.

Bella sitting on her mat listening to instructions.

It probably has another official gymnastics name.

Sleeping Bella later in the evening.

http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f286/missjill5/Disney%20Summer%202011/disneysummmmer027.jpg

I never did go to sleep, because I wanted to be able to sleep in the car. Jill and John got a few hours - maybe three - but we hit the road very early in the morning.

http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f286/missjill5/Disney%20Summer%202011/disneysummmmer028.jpg

You may recognize Lola Cow from last October's trip. She got to go on this trip, but she mostly stayed in the room. Patriotic Mickey went along to decorate my Pop window.

The trip itself was uneventful. Jill took the first round of driving. I went in and out of sleep through the dark hours, and when it began to get light, I was up for good. I was in the very back of the van, and Jill had the music going, so I guess my snoring didn't signifcantly impair her ability to concentrate on the road.

Morning found us at the Florida Welcome Center.

Or maybe Minnie.
Sort of.

:wave2: Hi everyone. I love all of the intro pictures, the one of the girls on the elephant statue is adorable.
I work in a First School (age 3 to 9) and we break up for our 6 week summer holiday next Friday, so I will have lots of DIS time :cool1:

We take the 'girls on elephants' picture every time we get off the train at Rafiki's.

You'll be getting a break about the time we start back up here. I have camp next week, then the next week I'll have to go to work in my room a day or two. Make yourself at home here, and join in the conversation any time. :goodvibes

Bella was going along just to watch while Brooklynn was in class, but of course she was bored. The waiting area is really not very comfortable, and it can get crowded with so many classes in and out. It's so much better now that both of them are occupied in their classes. Bella's is about fifteen minutes shorter than Brooklynn's, so she doesn't have to wait long at all now.

You should take a trip to the Welcome Center just to get your brochures and juice. Oh, and a picture by the sign :thumbsup2 - although I would like it better if the governor's name wasn't plastered up there. We didn't really come to see him. ;)

Let's just go back to the Kidani pool now and have a conversation in person, want to? :) The problem with vacations early in the summer is that they are over and done with and then there's a long stretch until school starts. Next year, we're going in June, because they are threatening to start school here on July 25th. :sad2:

I'm probably not a social bee in WDW, but I will talk to strangers in Disney World, if the need arises. Maybe if we are standing in line with first-timers or something, and we hear them voicing questions or concerns, we will help them out.

Brooklynn and I will be there in October. We plan to see you guys before the MNSSHP on the 16th, for sure.

We purposely drove through the night so that they would sleep a lot. It's torture for Bella to be in a car seat. Brooklynn understands what we are doing, and she's satisfied to watch movies and color and read. Bella doesn't really understand, and she's not one to sit still for long, so it's miserable for her. We are flying again in December, so it will be much nicer for everyone.

I was so thrilled when I saw the welcome sign on the FB pics....it feels like WDW isn't as far away.
Love the brochures and juice! Get's me super excitted everytime!
Can you believe I may 'drive down' in September just because I don't want to miss the Welcome Center.
It has been a tradition all my life and I am sad to let it go.
Tell me there is a stand in the airport for brochures and I can live with that. :rotfl:

Before you think I'm totaly nuts...I know that flying would be so much better.

I think I just have a sentimental attachment to it.
I drove down every spring with my parents from the snowy North.
The Welcome Center was where I always got to change into my shorts, there were palmtrees (palmettos?? inside CP joke), warm weather and the fresh juice.
Pure Bliss as a child. :cloud9:

My kids thought I was crazy for getting as excitted about "some brochures & juice" as Disney but I know they now look forward to it . ;)

Wow you ladies move fast! A day late and I'm already behind 8 pages and a whole update! I'm here though and can't wait to hear all about your trip

And CreightonsMomma, I'm in the same boat as you. I grew up 30 minutes from Disneyland and I maybe went a grand total of 3 times, then (of course) my family and I move out to Pennsylvania where we are many miles away from any Disney Park! :rotfl2: My luck right?

The girls are very lucky to be such experienced Disney travelers :thumbsup2 when I have kids I hope to take them many times as well.

The girls will be able to breeze through the College Program someday! ;)

We are glad to have you along on this voyage, pirate friend!

Okay, Bella's incredulous little voice exclaiming over the mingos in the watah is too precious!!!

Yeay for a dance recital and a drive down to Disney! I agree, that cloud is definitely sporting Mickey ears. No doubt about it!

My aunt and uncle are visiting from Australia right now -- today we are headed to the mall because they need to go to a Disney store. Apparently, it is genetic. :lmao:

Have fun with your visiting family. A Disney Store trip will be just magical. :wizard:

That video is just about the cutest thing ever!!! :goodvibes

I wish I had had the camera on her at the time.

Yay for the first update!! I LOVE the video of Bella. She is so adorable! It reminds me of Blake when he was 2. He is speaking much better now but still says some very cute things.;) Brooklyn is adorable at her recital and Bella is so cute at gymnastics. I agree that flying is much better than driving to WDW. I experienced the drive the last time and it was not fun. :sad2:
I just wanted to tell you that we are getting even closer to buying DVC. I want to start with a few points and then buy into the Grand Floridian DVC when it starts selling. I am so excited!!! We will see.. At least Jason is seriously talking about it now. That is a major improvement!

Yay for serious talk about DVC! :dance3: Keep us posted. You know you would love it!

Yeah, driving is not as good as flying. It used to be my preferred method, but flying a few times in a row spoiled me!

You are about to go on an awesome trip! Will you be putting pictures on Facebook?

We don't want to see him either, I wish you would take him back to TN with you :sad2:

I went to junior high school with Charlie Crist at Riviera. He was in my square dancing group in P.E. I don't know how he turned out as a square dancer, but how did he do as governor?

I whole heartedly AGREE with you!

On a lighter note, that video is so cute! I can't wait for my little one to start talking more! :)

It will come, and then there will be days that you wished they'd never learned to talk.

Brooklynn has an even bigger fan club than she thinks...she has all of us too!
She looked so pretty in her outfit for the recital.
I'm glad she had a good time doing it, make up and all! :goodvibes

I see the Mickey ears in the clouds too! Very cool! :thumbsup2

:cloud9:

My kids thought I was crazy for getting as excitted about "some brochures & juice" as Disney but I know they now look forward to it . ;)

I adore the girls little outfits!

Sorry to hear it didn't work out with Trent & Tanya.

I would so go for flying if I had to drive as far as you do!!! We can send you a gallon of orange juice and a box of brochures and you can pretend. :rotfl: What is the flight time for you from there, anyway?

It was pretty much Trent's doing. Tanya wanted to be here and be with him, but he just was too tired from his job to put anything into a relationship. If they can remain friends, then that will be good. Like I said, I don't think he's ever going to find his 'perfect' person, so I have given up on even hoping that there will be grandkids from him. I think it is sad, though, that he will never know the joy of being a parent.

The video is adorable....I love toddler speak, but Owen is really starting to come out of it. He's sounding more like a kid than toddler...I find that a little bittersweet.

I totally see ears on that cloud! :cloud9:

I'm scared you'll be on page 50 by the time I get back and I'll never keep up! :rotfl2:

And from 3 to 4 is really going to be a growing year. I always thought that about mine - at 3, they were still babies, but at 4, they were certainly not!

You have a glorious time on your vacation!

You should take a trip to the Welcome Center just to get your brochures and juice. Oh, and a picture by the sign :thumbsup2 - although I would like it better if the governor's name wasn't plastered up there. We didn't really come to see him. ;)

Why do they bother to put the names on there? Does anyone visiting really care? I always wonder that when we are leaving Jacksonville's airport. It says, "Welcome to Jacksonville" and right below it says "Mayor John Payton". To me it always looks like it is a sign welcoming the mayor - "Welcome back to Jacksonville, mayor!":lmao:

I might need to take a trip to the Welcome Center :thumbsup2 I don't think it's far and as a stay at home mom, I'm always looking for different places to go with the girls.

Loved the video of Bella - so so cute :cutie:

And isn't it great to capture some of it, especially when before we know it they're talking in 'proper' sentences? Daisy has just had her 2nd birthday and is well into toddler speak too, but it's quite a task to turn the camera on her without her noticing :rolleyes1

Oh my gosh that video was SO STINKING CUTE!!

I had to play it twice because my kids demanded to know what was so funny when I cracked up at the end of it.

I played it again and they went around the house chanting "What in the whuld?" over and over again.

I expect I'll have to play it again for them today since they liked it so much.

Too fun!! :thumbsup2

Oh my sweet nibblets!!!! That video is adorable!!!!!! What in the wuhld!!!! I have watched it 5 times now and Bella just warms my heart!!!

I am still kicking myself for not taking video of Brooklynn and Hollie when we had our Cupcake meet!!!! The sweet little southern accents that were coming out of the mouths of those two!!!

I'm here!

After a very difficult year (that ended with the death of a beloved family member) I need some light at the end of my dark, dark tunnel! So, in August my friend and I are taking her 4 year old daughter to Pop for 3 nights! It's her 4th birthday, and this is the first time I'm going with a small child, so I'm so beside myself I don't even know how to plan this! (So I need to backtrack and read your TRs!)

Then, in October, David and I will be headed to Disney from the 1-8th! (If everything works out for this one)

So the girl i'm taking, she's gonna be 4, since you have experience, was Brooklynn able to ride things like Soarin and BTMR at 4? I measured her and I thought she was at least 40" but I may have measured her wrong, I did in a hurry because she started asking questions and its a surprise! (She's never been to WDW!)

Anyway, can't wait to read more and catch up with my old friends!

Must be cool to drive across that border and get some OJ. Maybe someday we'll make that long drive.

It would be way long for you. Maybe you could fly to Atlanta and then drive across the FL state line. Atlanta to Orlando isn't awful.

Or you could road trip it and stop to see all of your southern DIS friends along the way. :)

Funny story :goodvibes I would take him back in a hot minute if it would get our current governor out! I can't wait until the next election!

I didn't know how much people liked him or didn't, but I thought it was pretty cool that he 'made it big'. The first time I saw him with white hair, it was so wierd, because I remembered him with dark wavy hair.

It says, "Welcome to Jacksonville" and right below it says "Mayor John Payton". To me it always looks like it is a sign welcoming the mayor - "Welcome back to Jacksonville, mayor!":lmao:

To me, it takes away from the fun of the sign. People want to see the FLORIDA part of the sign, showing they have arrived in The Sunshine State. I don't like somebody's name up there, no matter who they are. Seems a little conceited to me.

There are so many fun places to go in Florida. I'd love to go back and visit St. Augustine. I want to take the girls to the beach, which we're planning to do next summer. I want to go back over to St. Pete, too.

All too soon Bella will be talking like a big girl. Then I'll start bugging Jill for another baby. ;)

Bella doesn't much like to get her picture made. Sometimes she'll cheese it up, but sometimes she's just not into cooperating for a picture.

I love that she says 'mingos' right before the guide does. Those are her friends. I never did see a mingo with the Mickey ears this time. Maybe they're only out during F&G?

I got a laugh out of your kids walking around the house saying that, so they returned the smiles to us. :goodvibes

I bet the conversation at the Hollie and Brooklynn table was worth taping. We'll get them together again. I'm sure there will be another Atlanta DIS meet when we get too Disney homesick and need a Disney Store run.

I thought several times about texting you, but I didn't want to bother you if you were just needing a break from Disney people and Disney things. I am so sorry to hear about your loss. Feel free to share it with us, if you want to. I'm sorry I wasn't there to support you and encourage you during that time.

I hope you and David get to go in October.

The best advice we would give for going with a four year old is to make rope drops and then swim and nap/rest in the afternoon. You can go through Fantasyland in one hour without pushing it and be on your way to another land as it starts getting crowded. If you want to ask specific questions about our routine and what we have found best in maximizing time, we'll be glad to share.

We're so glad you're back with us. :)

I am having a hard time sleeping and have a constant anxious feeling for no reason. :sad2: It will be here before I know it. I am going shopping tonight for last minute things, Winnie the Pooh tomorrow, Dollywood Splash Country Saturday, Harry Potter Sunday and I work Monday and we leave for our friends' house in Lexington, KY Monday night.
We are leaving from there early Tuesday morning. I am tired just writing my plans.:rotfl: We will have fun. It has been several years since we have been to Hawaii and I look forward to going back. So glad our favorite high school grad soon to be college girl is here. :)

Aww, I'm glad to be here :thumbsup2

I need all of my DIS friends to keep my mom in your thoughts and prayers. She's going in for major surgery tomorrow morning. We found out a few weeks ago that she has endometrial cancer, so she has to have a hysterectomy. Her doctor said that she'll be fine, and the surgery should take care of it. She'll be in the hospital until Sunday or Monday, and then she'll be home from work for about 6 weeks. I also have my college orientation tomorrow, which is really bad timing but there's nothing I can do about it. Luckily my school is 10 minutes from the hospital, so I can drop her off and then go to orientation, and then go back to visit after. I'll keep you updated as much as I can tomorrow!

Your family is adorable! My kids wish everyday was spent in Disney! I am happy to see another mom dress her children "matchy matchy"!! Sometimes I feel like I am the only crazy one, lol!

I love your Florida welcome sign Memom. We drove for the first time as our own little family last year and I was sooo excited to make it to the florida welcome station. I remembered the juice with fond memories from childhood trips! I am hoping for a much better florida welcome this upcoming trip because that past one did not go quite as planned for us.
We ended up Stuck in the parking lot, we snapped a belt and the airconditioner compressor seized, we ended up with a tow truck ride the rest of the way. Dh, me, ds 3, dd 20 months and dbd 10 weeks, lol. I could have cried, well, maybe I did, right there at the welcome station, in my orange juice. You can imagine the ride in style we had as we pull up to the CBR in our beautiful flatbed tow truck and another family was getting out of a limo....Good times, Good times!:rotfl::rotfl: That is a memory I will never forget!

I am looking forward to this trip reprt! IT will get me through the 70 days left until we head out on the road to enjoy our disney trip! Thanks so much for posting!

If I could I would have a 'Mingo' in my backyard...they are so pretty to watch!

I hope there are more Bella videos to come...cause she is so cute! :)

I think we will fly from Syracuse NY (cheaper) and a direct flight is about 2 to 3 hrs. :woohoo:
One stop flights that I have been looking at are about 5hrs.
The one that is the most apealing leaves at 6am and arrives at 11am.

Even with the short 3 hr drive to Syracuse, flying sounds soooo much better than looking at a 24hr drive.
That's not including our overnight stay in a hotel somewhere in the Carolinas.

I havn't flown down to Florida since I was about 15yrs old.
I bet the airport has changed alot.

Nicole786 I want to give you a hug.
I'm so sorry for your loss of a loved one. (For a minute I was worried it was David).
I'm glad you are back and have some trips in the works.
I always looked forward to your creative tees. Are you making some for the little girl?

Our guys shake their heads at us
(they look like this :sad2:, only they're not round or blue)
when we come up with some Disney reference in every situation.

:rotfl: That reminds me, Charles and I went to the aquarium today, and there is a window where you can check out the care unit. There was a surgery going on today on something (not sure what since it was all covered up), and my first thought was, "this is kinda like Rafiki's Planet Watch." I kept that to myself, though, because I KNEW I would get that look from Charles!

I am so very far behind and am glad I saw the link to this new beauty of a TR. I've been working my tail off in real life, dealing with stresses of different sorts and then in a Disney depression after realizing we can't take an October trip. Yes, I did pout and cry. :sad2:

But I decided a 13th Birthday Trip for Morghan in May 2012 will be lots of fun so we are rescheduling. And I missed my Dis friends like crazy so here I am!

Tonight I plan to get all caught up. It looks great so far! :goodvibes

Trent teases Jill about the matching clothes. He knows why she does it in WDW - in case one gets lost she doesn't have to think about what she was wearing - but he still agrravates her about it.

Too funny about being towed in to CBR!

We'll certainly try to help you through these 70 days. :goodvibes

If I could I would have a 'Mingo' in my backyard...they are so pretty to watch!

I hope there are more Bella videos to come...cause she is so cute!

I think we will fly from Syracuse NY (cheaper) and a direct flight is about 2 to 3 hrs.

Take Care, Lana

Have you ever watched the mingos over at Animal Kingdom Lodge? They are fun to watch, but they can get loud. And sometimes they slap the crud out of each other banging heads. I mean they smack hard!

If you get to MCO at 11, you'll still have a lot of Disney day left. We like the early flights. We get down there, get some lunch in the food court and take it out by the kiddie pool and let the girls run around. It's so nice finally being there and sitting under those palm trees in the breeze.

MCO is a very pretty airport, by the way.

Thanks for sharing your secret moment with us, though. ;)

I'm late, I'm late
for a very important date. :yay:

I am so very far behind and am glad I saw the link to this new beauty of a TR. I've been working my tail off in real life, dealing with stresses of different sorts and then in a Disney depression after realizing we can't take an October trip. Yes, I did pout and cry. :sad2:

But I decided a 13th Birthday Trip for Morghan in May 2012 will be lots of fun so we are rescheduling. And I missed my Dis friends like crazy so here I am!

Tonight I plan to get all caught up. It looks great so far! :goodvibes

You better not abandon your DIS friends!!!
We'll help keep you going until May. ::yes::
And a 13th birthday trip will be so very special!

Jeesh! Lose internet for a few days and get 10 pages behind :sad2:

Sounds like departure went smoothly!

I am glad your house is back to normal.

The trip down was uneventful, which is a good thing. :)

Help? Why would anyone want to have help getting out of the magic??? We need to help more people get in! :wizard:
Our guys shake their heads at us
(they look like this :sad2:, only they're not round or blue)
when we come up with some Disney reference in every situation.

Disney references today:
While I was running, a neighbor walked by with her Tinker Bell shirt on.
Disney reference on the radio while driving into work.
On the field trip to the roller rink, 2 Disney songs, Hawaiian Rollercoaster ride and a song from Tarzan.

Another Disney reference on the drive home- the afternoon drive team on
the radio has a Disneyphile so it does come up often.

:goodvibes:hug: Good thought for you during orientation and your mom. Confident that this procedure will take care of everything and your mom will recover quickly.:goodvibes

I will keep her in my prayers for sure!! I am sure everything will go great.

I'll be keeping your mom in my thoughts, best wishes to her

 Your in all my family's prayers. I know exactly what your going through. Two years ago my sister had brain surgery to remove a brain tumor. By the grace of God the surgeon removed 99% of the tumor and DSis is cancer free. I wish whatever angel was watching over my sister in the OR will watch over your mom :littleangel:

Tink9721 - we will all have you close in thought and prayer. Thank heavens there are smart doctors out there who know just what to do! I am glad for people who are so much smarter than I could ever dream of being who know just how to fix people up. I have faith that your mom will be up and running quickly.

Let us know how your orientation goes, too. We'll be thinking of you tomorrow.

:goodvibes:hug: Good thought for you during orientation and your mom. Confident that this procedure will take care of everything and your mom will recover quickly.:goodvibes

Thank you from both of us! We really appreciate all of the support. I love my DIS friends :grouphug:

MeMom, I'll text you tomorrow and let you know how the surgery goes. I'm not sure when I'll get a chance to get on the DIS. Probably tomorrow night or some time on Saturday.

My mom said the only good thing about this is that she gets to spend 6 weeks at home with me :) It's a good thing this is happening during the summer because my mom's gonna need me at home, especially the first couple weeks. She should be fine by the time school starts.

Orientation definitely isn't where I want to be tomorrow, but there's nothing I can do about it. I signed up for that day before I even knew about the surgery. I'll do my best to enjoy it. I have to pick my classes tomorrow too and my mom's looking forward to hearing about it when I go visit. There wouldn't be anything I could do if I was at the hospital anyway, but I'd just feel better if I was there. The hospital is supposed to call my cell phone and leave me a message after the surgery, so I'll check that during lunch or whenever I get a chance.

PirateLass, I'm so glad your sister is healthy! :) This is something we've had to deal with a lot. We lost my aunt to cancer last year, after she had already survived lung cancer once and breast cancer twice. My grandma is a breast cancer survivor. My mom is also a breast cancer survivor. She had it about 6 years ago, and the doctor thinks that the cause of the endometrial cancer was the antibiotics she had to take to prevent the breast cancer from coming back :sad2:

Thank you all again for your support!

PirateLass - Good to hear the positive outcome for your sister. A cousin of mine had brain surgery for a tumor when he was two. He's now about 25.

That's awesome to hear! One thing we are worried about with DSis is her relapsing because childhood cancer has a tenancy to show up again. But seeing your cousin has gone 23 years without any trouble has given me faith my sister will be just as lucky.

You go, DIS friend! :cheer2:

A teacher friend called yesterday to ask when I was going to school to work on my room. I told her it would have to be after church camp. When I hung up, those blasted school thoughts started coming into my head, so I fought them off by thinking only of how I was going to do my bulletin boards. I decided for sure I am going to do Nemo. The outside bulletin board will have my brand new (just bought at the Living Seas gift shop) Crush and a Nemo borrowed from Brooklynn. It will say Second Grade is Totally Awesome. One of my inside bulletin boards will have Mr. Ray and some friends saying There's So Much to Explore. Bruce will be on my Math board, and I'll use some kind of 'Math Shark' or 'Sharpening Math Skills' statement, yet to be decided.

Thank you from both of us! We really appreciate all of the support. I love my DIS friends :grouphug:

I'm not close with this cousin's family, and they don't live here, but as far as I have ever known, I don't think he has had any issues. He went to college and is working and all is well from what I know. We will have faith that your sister just had a one time setback and it's all smooth sailing for her from here on out! :thumbsup2

We made a stop at the Ocala Walmart to get some fresh fruit and a box fan. I love having a fan running in a room, especially at night. I love that the mods and deluxes have ceiling fans. Since we were driving, I decided to invest fifteen bucks in a box fan to have at Pop, and it was so worth it. Even if a room is cool enough, I still like stirring air better than stagnant air. When we fly again, I'll have to do without, but since I had the option, I was glad to have it.

The skies were a little dark as we neared Orlando.

We checked into our off-site room and headed straight to Downtown Disney.

These are the best Disney pictures I could get from the back seat of the car as we drove in.

When we got to DTD, I had to take a picture of this.

Aren't you glad this guy

http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f286/missjill5/Disney%20Summer%202011/disneysummmmer063.jpg

did what he did?

If he had been satisfied to sit on the bench watching his daughters spin in circles on the merry-go-round, we would not even know each other today. But, he wanted to play with them, and because he did, we are here reading this and sharing each others' lives. Pretty good case for saying that what we do can really have a big effect on others, huh?

I love your Nemo bulletin board idea...if only I didn't teach 11th graders...well, I could get away with it in Jan. or so. After they get to know me and realize how difficult the course is. If I started with Nemo, they might think the course was going to be a breeze...

Great tour of DTD. Sorry you didn't go in Basin. I go in and spend 30 minutes aimlessly walking around and leave without anything. I really need to decide what I want before I go!

The new legos looks awesome. Is the tourise family still there too, or did they take it away?

My DD4 loves these! Right now we just have Simba and Bambi, but I have a feeling our collection will grow. When we were there last March we went on a search for Bambi. DH and I made the mistake of not letting her buy it immediately, telling her to wait and see if there was anything else she wanted during the trip. Well, it came down to our last afternoon and she decided that's what she wanted and then baby Bambi was nowhere to be found in MK. We ended up taking the monorail to the Contemporary and found Bambi there. :thumbsup2

Wow! You really do everything in DTD. Some of those stores I've missed and have seen for the first time. Earl of Sandwich looks so good as always. I think I've mentally taken a note of that place (MUST DO!) The Lego sculptures are so cool. I hope the Maleficent dragon and Prince Phillip one is still there so I may take a picture next to it. One of my favorite scenes from any Disney movie :goodvibes That fountain is so cool. I don't think I've seen anything so complex-

wow, I got some catchin' up to do, eh?

Going back to bookmark and read!
Okay, all caught up!
Those girls are just so adorable. I told my DDs to read about how many trips they've taken and how old they are. They said, "that's like 3 or 4 trips a YEAR!!!" They thought they had gone a lot (7 times). HA!

LOVE Bella's cute voice on that video! It keeps running through my head - "what in the whuld?"

I think I have a picture of the flower pot fountain too. I wish they'd come install it on my patio!

We always stop at the Florida welcome sign for a picture on our drives down too. That juice tastes so good - just b/c it means I'm finally in FL!

Wigd - poor Hunter. And poor Hunter's family!

MeMom - I love your school Nemo theme ideas!!! My DD just finished 2nd grade. I loved her teacher, but if she could have you or Wigd, that would be the end-all beat-all!!!

Okay - I'm now caught up and will be vigilant about staying on top of this. Carry on.

I would love to have a real Mr. Ray's Lagoon in my room. :goodvibes Wonder how hard it would be to upkeep a ray tank?

That's why we didn't go in Basin - because I knew we didn't have enough time for me to browse. It's not exactly John's favorite kind of store. I never got back to DTD for the rest of the trip, either. I stayed with the girls one evening so Jill and John could go down there, but I never got back myself.

I really should get a do-over, shouldn't I? ;)

The tourist family is there with some Disney additions, as I have seen in other pictures, but I didn't get to it to take a picture of it.

Oh I could spend days just at DTD. :). Love it!

We had Earl this trip as well. Yummmmmoooooo! I get the one with basil, mozzarella, tomato & balsamic. I'm salivating just writing that! :)

I never feel like I spend enough time in Downtown Disney.
Or World Showcase.
Or Animal Kingdom.

I really need to go to Disney World more often. :)

Joining in for this one! I hope I can keep up this time. Since it's summer vacation, I have lots more time.

The girls are so cute!
Love the Lego sculptures and the fountain.

Yay for more DIS time! My summer is coming to an end shortly.

It was very cool to get to see the Lego sculptures. They are pretty amazing. It would be kind of fun to have a job where you get paid to put Legos together.

That video of Bella was just too cute:love: Great start to the trip! Earl looks delish as always!!! What's your favorite one to get? Loved your bulletin board idea! You are so creative~! I think I would like to be an adoptive child of yours! If you'll have more that is! :yay: Looking forward to reading about your first day!!!!

My very favorite is the Holiday Sandwich that they have during Thanksgiving and Christmas, but on that good Earl bread, I have never had a sandwich I didn't like.

If you read any of our past reports, you'll learn that I want to be Mrs. Walton and have a bunch of kids, so I'll be glad to add you to my crew. :thumbsup2

Lovely photo's. DTD is a good place to spend some relaxing Disney time. What is it with kids and walls!! Frazer, who is going on 10 still can't walk past a wall without climbing on it:). Great pictures of Walt. Thank goodness he did what he did .:yay:

I guess it makes kids feel big and maybe a little daring. Brooklynn loves to walk on curbs or rocks or whatever, and of course Bella is right behind her these days.

Oh boo the rain clouds!! I hope they went away!

That fountain/waterfall thing you took a picture of is so neat! I love how it's all flower pots.

Earl is so good! A definitely must-do at DTD!

I just love that picture you posted of Walt. His smile is contagious. And I think so many people forget where it all began.

The Toy Story and Snow White lego displays are amazing!! I hope they're still there when we go next year.

I think a trip through One Man's Dream should be a requirement before going into any of the parks. :) People get caught up in the fun, and I'm glad for that, but it's nice to be appreciative of how it all started.

I bet those statues will be there for a long, long time.

:thumbsup2

Those babies are so cute. I'm glad you found your Bambi. It could have been a disaster if you hadn't.

Those legos statues are amazing!!! So awesome. I can't wait to see them.
Love Earl! Sandwiches look good as usual. We go every trip.
Can't wait for more.
Anyone going to Winnie the Pooh today? We have tickets for 2 pm!!

No Pooh for me. I baked brownies and that tie-dyed cake this morning. I ran another load of food up to the camp and then came back to buy some more groceries. I got a whole bunch of ice cream and popsicles. I'm pretty set now. Just gotta get salad and shredded lettuce Sunday afternoon.

Hope you like the movie. It looks very sweet on the commercials.

Well maybe, but still it's cool. And the baby plush disney characters are just adorable. I must find that muffin mold. Mickey muffins :smickey:-

And the stage in DTD brings back so many memories. I got to perform on it in February with my school chorus, very fun. I was glad to see you stopped to watch, most ignore this stage (:() -

Can't wait to read more! :mickeyjum

That was fun that you got to perform, and during a cooler month, too - that's good.

I should have gotten the Mickey mold. I always end up with a regret or two, and that is one of mine from this trip.

Is that flower pot fountain new? How pretty!!

I love that photo of Walt. I'm so grateful for all he created. :goodvibes

No, the fountain has been there a while. Jill makes fun of me for saying how much I like it every time I pass it and for taking a picture of it every time, too. ;)

That video is adorable. She says it so clear too. :0)

She really does talk very well for a young two year old. She's fun to be around. She has a really sweet personality.

Skimming through the old TR I found the new link. I'm only 12 pages behind! Dear Lord, ladies! You've managed to accumulate 12 pages of TR and loyal readers! I love it!

Checking into POP at 6:00 a.m.!!:scared1: I honestly don't even get up at Disney at 6:00 a.m. Like Brookelizabeth aka Brook, I'm not a rope drop person. I hope that check in went smoothly for all of you.

Way to go on the intro Jill! I love the pictures of Brook and Bella, and the fact that you recognize the stars of the TR!:cutie:

We are definitely rope drop people. We do try to have a day or two, though, that we don't do a rope drop.

Those Lego statues are incredible. Downtown Disney is such a fun place. I never spend as much time there as I'd like to.

Me, either. You really could make a day of it. Maybe take an afternoon boat ride over to POR/POFQ to eat and walk around, then back for some evening entertainment in DTD.

Love all the merchandise pictures!

Little Miss Matched....new store?

Yes, that whole area where the Pooh store was has been redone.

 I have never seen the low walls in DTD without little kids walking on them! I guess they are really tempting!

Is that Fun Finds store new? I don't remember seeing it before! It looks really cute! I love wandering around DTD :goodvibes

Yeah, Fun Finds is up there in that same Pooh section, too.

We all enjoyed the mingo video last night while eating at a frozen yogurt bar. Jen was with us too...:goodvibes
That Bella is so darn cute and we I loved listening to her talk!
Both girls are just show stoppers!

I would so love to make one of those flower pot fountains here at home but we just aren't here enough to get that project completed.

Big news here, Hunter just cut his first tooth. He's just a bit grumpy...

Tell Marc he can come and do a practice fountain at my house before he does it perfectly at yours. :goodvibes

I saw Hunter chewing his fingers on a FB picture this morning and said that very thing about him teething.

Glad you enjoyed the silly Bella video. She's a sweet one.

The new Lego structures are adorable. It is great that they are Disney themed. I especially like the Snow White pictures.

I wish I was eating at Earl of Sandwich now.

Maybe you'll get a spring Flower and Garden trip to see all the new things going on in WDW.

wow, I got some catchin' up to do, eh?

Carry on.

Don't you think 4 trips a year is a good number? :)
One for every season sounds good to me.

Your girls have cruise experience, though, and we don't have that.

If I had a Disney kid in my room, I'd probably be a bad teacher. I'd just want to sit and talk Disney all day. :upsidedow

Poor Hunter :(

I love the flowerpot fountain. It's so beautiful.

My kids love DTD so much they asked me SEVERAL times it we were going to that "park". When it finally clicked in that it wasn't a park but an outside mall they were overjoyed and DD tried to elect a promise from DH that on our next trip we go there every day. :rotfl2: Not surprisingly, he didn't go for it.

We've begun to copy you MeMom by having Disney themed parties and Disney inspired cuisine here at home to help us get through the time between Disney trips.

Our latest addiction are chocolate dipped strawberries. In January, I refused to let them use a snack credit on one at the parks :rolleyes1 because I didn't think it was a very good value for a credit so when strawberry season rolled around here last month I made good on a promise to make them at home. In fact, we're having them for dessert tonight!! YUM!!

I've also made magic cookie bars here at home and DD brought home a kid's Princess and the Frog cookbook from DHS so we've done a thing or two from it and plan to attempt several more before they go back to school in September.

How did Brooklyn do getting up so early the next day to switch resorts?

Love that picture and  him!! YES, very, very glad.

I have watched that video of Bella's mingos atleast 6 times!!! TOO cute! I love how after saying "what in the wuhld" she says again "mingos in the watah" kind of laughing like it's just soooo darn ridiculous that those mingos are there! :rotfl:

Spring '12 sounds good to me! :) let's make a plan as it gets closer!

I think Jill is going to go to WDW with John's family in February or March, so maybe we could do St. Louis in April or May. You do whatever you want for a fall meet, too, though. I know there are a lot of DISers that are near there.

Make sure you take a picture of the cake. I want to see how it came out. Also, the water feature at Downtown Disney is one of my favorites.

I did. I did it in a long cake pan and swirled five colors. It's pretty cute. I'll get the picture up after while.

Disney themed parties are fun! :cool1:

The strawberries in the park are huge and so good. They are a bit expensive, though, I agree.

Because she knew we were going to Pop and because we had gotten to bed early the night before, Brooklynn did fine. Every afternoon when she would take a nap at Pop, she woke up thinking it was the next day. She would wake up from a deep sleep and we'd be going to dinner or to a park, and she'd tell us we hadn't had breakfast.

Update on Christine's mom and her surgery - she sent me a message that she was back at the hospital after her college orientation and all is well with her mom. :)

Thanks MeMom!

The surgery went very well and my mom's doing fine! I got there at about 3:30, which was earlier than I thought. Orientation was supposed to go until 4:00 but the last 2 and a half hours were just for class registration, and they let people go when they were done, so I got out a little after 3:00. Anyway, my mom looked pretty good, but she was still a little groggy from the anesthesia. She said she was feeling better than she thought she would. They have her on a morphine drip, so she's not in a lot of pain. The nurse asked what her pain level was on a scale from 1-10 (10 being the highest) and she said 3, so that's not too bad. She was just really tired. She was starting to fall asleep mid-sentence when I left. I'm going back to visit tomorrow for a few hours. She's either coming home Sunday or Monday. We're both hoping for Sunday! She's gonna go nuts if she's in the hospital too long!

Thanks again to all of my wonderful DIS friends :grouphug:

Walt and his brother Roy are some of my biggest idols. They have brought happiness to so many people, even well past their life times.
I just wish they knew more about cigarettes back then and how they were more dangerous to your health than most people thought. Maybe then Walt would have been around for a little while longer.:sad2:

Such happiness. :goodvibes Good first stop at EOS :thumbsup2 I have always gone for the Hawaiian bbq but think I actually might change it up in October. Christine-glad to hear that your mom's surgery went well and she is recovering nicely!:goodvibes

Love the DTD pictures! I have a fountain picture somewhere... I also have a picture of the tourist lego family, I think... They are definitely still there but changed up a bit. I loved all the new Lego sculptures and the design of the Lego store now. Much easier to deal with now for we frequent Lego store shoppers.

I did get to eat some Earl on this trip (Ellie doesn't like it:scared1: so we buy her a hot dog from the stand outside). We got drenched on our DTD afternoon so we didn't get to do much shopping. Unfortunately we never made it back this trip either. I think that means I get a do over too, right??;)

Absolutely love the tie dye cake! I will have to try that.
Before I even read your ideas, I had planned on doing some Nemo in my classroom this year too. Last year I had Toy Story outside my room (Rounding up a great class) and the kids all decorated cowboy hats. This year another teacher gave me some under the sea name plates and border so I was going to do Nemo! Great minds think alike!

Chicago is the place to be this summer! I am going on Sunday with some people from school for a conference. We won't have much time but I am excited to see what I can!!

The cake looks delicious!!! Can I convince you to come down to Georgia and bake Chelsea's b-day cake for tomorrow? She wants a round red velvet -- hopefully it is easier than last year's round cake was for me to do.

If he had been satisfied to sit on the bench watching his daughters spin in circles on the merry-go-round, we would not even know each other today. But, he wanted to play with them, and because he did, we are here reading this and sharing each others' lives. Pretty good case for saying that what we do can really have a big effect on others, huh?

the cake looks cute! we are celebrating my nephews 5th birthday while we are in canada and that would be a cute cake to make!

i like that the legos are disney themed now!

I thought the muffin mold was an ice mold! I have been wanting an ice mold to make mickey mouse shaped ice cubes for Caleb's mickey Mouse Birthday party! There is probably going to be a big disneyshopping.com order for me before September! :-)

The Lego statues were very cool. There are so many of them now.

That cake would be a great birthday cake - maybe specifically for a boy make the colors a little bolder. Show us if you end up making it.

I have regretted not getting that mold. I could have made Mickey cakes for camp.

The tie dye cheesecake turned out great.

It was just a regular white cake. I may have to make a tie-dyed cheesecake for camp this week, too. The kids would like that!

Love that cake! I am so making that with my girls at church. I'm suddenly inspired to do a lesson on Noah!

Have fun, and show us your results. :goodvibes

:rotfl2: The report grew an extra page while I was reading it and I was all confused...You can tell I've just finished work and am now officially on holidays!

I love the Mickey flower pot fountain! You should put that in your collage MeMom!:) And I also want to Mickey muffin tray and those cute wooden plates! Sounds like a very enjoyable evening at DTD! That hotel pool is huge!

I'm glad to hear that all o our Dis-friends' families are doing ok. You'll all be in my thoughts and prayers:hug:

Wish me luck...I'm now going to line up for Harry Potter....Winnie the Pooh is on Tuesday with my neice and nephews in Indiana! :goodvibes

It's definitely going in my collage. I actually finally sent some pictures to be prints, and the machine messed them all up, so I'll have to get a chance to do them again. That collage will get done one of these days!

Have fun at Winnie the Pooh. I will admit, I have never seen one Harry Potter movie.

I'll take some of that tie dye cake Actually, we found out a couple of days ago that some people from our church are gonna bring some food over for a few days starting on Tuesday :) That'll give my mom a day to get settled before people start coming over. I can't cook much more than pasta so we'll appreciate it :rotfl:

Thanks again to all of my wonderful DIS friends

So glad your mom is doing well. Sometimes, though, after a day or two of being brave and strong, it catches up with a person, so tell her to take it real easy and not do too much even if she feels good. Soreness moves around in your body, it seems like, so what might not hurt today could be hurting tomorrow.

If you ever get interested in trying out some new things, try a website called All Recipes. They have great recipes and reviews. People who have made the items will add their opinions or tell how they changed the recipe. I like to look through it now and then for new ideas.

I'm so glad to hear everything's good. :thumbsup2 I'll continue to keep her in my prayers!

I know she appreciates how many DIS friends were and are thinking of her family this week. :)

That cake is almost too pretty to eat...almost;)

Walt and his brother Roy are some of my biggest idols. They have brought happiness to so many people, even well past their life times.
I just wish they knew more about cigarettes back then and how they were more dangerous to your health than most people thought. Maybe then Walt would have been around for a little while longer.:sad2:

DSis has a pair of pink cheetah headband ears, you can borrow them if you would like :thumbsup2 I prefer the original ears myself. Except for the little elastic chin strap on them. Those annoy me.

Christine Glad to hear your mom is doing fine and there was no complications with the anesthesia or the surgery! Hope she rehabilitates just fine :)

I was pleased with the cake. I thought it was pretty. I showed my boys, but they weren't too excited. Boys don't use the word 'pretty' too much.

It is sad that Walt's life ended too soon due to cigarettes.

I am here... way late but only had a few pages to catch up on! I need to watch the video now at home though!

Are you still on your Vegas trip? What was the most fun about it?

Love the video of Bella!!! So cute!! Those crazy mingos in the water!! Neat (to me) that you stopped in Ocala. We have a home (it was my Grandparents) in Belleview. Right down the road. It is rented out as the location doesn't hold much appeal to any of us... That first step onto Disney property is just bliss. Such happiness. :goodvibes Good first stop at EOS :thumbsup2 I have always gone for the Hawaiian bbq but think I actually might change it up in October. Or not. :rotfl2: I may buy those muffin pans...I have the ice cube trays...I figure if I decide not to bake then I can have really big ice cubes to go along with my little ones:rotfl2:
Can't wait for your first day and your move to your Pop home :goodvibes

Tracy

Can you imagine? Mingos and water???

You could make ice cubes made out of punch for a punch bowl whenever you have a party that requires a punch bowl. You'd have big floating Mickey heads to keep the punch cold but not water it down. :thumbsup2

I like the Hawaiian BBQ at Earl's, too, but I have to tell them to go easy on the sauce. It's a little too much for me.

Ellie doesn't even like grilled cheese or PBJ from Earl? Wowser! She's the frist person I have ever heard of not liking Earl. Buuut, I may need to try her hot dog stand, because I have not had a dog from there. :thumbsup2

Do-overs for everyone! :dance3: I would meet you in DTD this afternoon to get started ont hat, but there's the little matter of camp starting. Plus I have no money for a plane ticket.

We'll get back to DTD eventually. I hope to carve out a little time for it in October, though it won't be much. There's already too much little girl fun to pack into our few days.

Show me how your Nemo stuff comes out. I got some blow up fish yesterday and made a couple of jellyfish with styrofoam balls, paint, streamers, and ribbon. I was telling Wigd by text that I really want to put the bottom of a boat on my ceiling! :goodvibes

Your cake looks yummy! The girls and I made rainbow cupcakes for St. Patrick's day that turned out really neat, but making layered cupcakes was a bit tedious. I like the idea of a cake much better!

Yes, I think a cake would be a lot quicker than individual cupcakes, but you know how kids do love cupcakes.

Love Love Love the video, it is absolutely too stinking adorable. Those girls are just too precious and adorable.

Tink9721 - I'm glad your mom is doing alright! I'll think good thoughts for both of you over the next several weeks.

I sure miss my girls. After being with them every day on a trip, it is hard to not have them around.

MeMom -- Loved the Downtown Disney update!!!! EoS is soooo yummy! I can't wait until September to have another Hawaiian BBQ sandwich!!! :lovestruc

The girls are sooo adorable! I love their matching outfits!!! And of course that video was sooo stinkin cute!!!! I watched it over & over :thumbsup2

I feel the same way -- I love DTD and WS but don't feel like we're ever there long enough!

---------------------------------------------------------------------

Please let her know all of your DIS friends are thinking of her!!!

So glad you liked the video. I am glad I just happened to be taping at the time and caught it.

I don't know if there is ever enough time to devote to World Showcase - with all the shopping, museums and displays, rides, movies, etc. - I could spend days and days just going though the countries and doing and seeing every little thing.

The Cake looks yummy! Can't wait for another update! :)

I will try to do one this afternoon before I leave for camp, but no promises. Jill may be ready to put up some of her arrival day pictures, if she has time today.

So glad you tried the cake recipe. It looks very cool!

I love strolling around DTD. And you've put an item on my shopping list with those wood (or maybe they are plastic made to look like wood) plates.

Love EoS but also want to try Wolfgang Puck Express. Decisions, decisions.

I think they were really wood, but don't hold me to that. I think I did pick up a plate at some point.

WPE is good, too. Maybe get a little of each and share with family and friends?

Yeay for Earl and DtD! All those new Lego creations are very cool! Love the Maleficent dragon!

The cake looks delicious!!! Can I convince you to come down to Georgia and bake Chelsea's b-day cake for tomorrow? She wants a round red velvet -- hopefully it is easier than last year's round cake was for me to do.

You know you will make the perfect birthday cake for Chelsea. I told her Happy Birthday on Facebook a little earlier. I am sure she is snoozing away right now, though. :)

Yum, yum!!! Did I miss the recipe? Would you mind posting it MeMom? My kids would LOVE it. :)

No recipe for the cake. I used a boxed white cake and divided it into five bowls. I colored it, swirled it, and baked it. I put foil on the top from the beginning so it wouldn't brown and baked it at 325 instead of 350. I think it turned out to be very pretty.

I can't believe how big the girls are getting, they are growing up way too fast. Super cute as always.

I always say I am going to bring down a small fan when I travel, I have to have the sound of a fan going to help me sleep well. I was thinking of just buying one of the small clip ones and clipping it to the headboard of my bed next trip.

Can't wait to hear how the rest of the trip unfolds. :thumbsup2

I actually did think of that, because with SW allowing both Brooklynn and I to have two suitcases, I would have room for a small fan. It would have to be middle-sized, though, not just the teeny tiny ones. There should be plenty of room for one of those. I know that having the box fan sure did help me on this trip! ::yes::

I was thinking that if we fly Southwest I could fit a medium sized fan myself. I actually have one in my cubicle at work so I could probably just bring that and it would work well. I'm going to add that to my packing list ASAP so I don't forget about it when it comes time to take out those suitcases.

That is a great view from Pop. I'll have to make a note so I can request it next time. I'd love to stay at Art of Animation (is that what it's called?), but the prices are astronomical for a value! I'll just walk over from Pop until they bring the price down or offer discounts.

I am so impressed with how you checked into Pop and got to MK for an 8:10 AdR. It is a struggle for us to get to RD! The last 2 trips we were always between 5-10 minutes after. Still low crowds, but I'm going to have to rededicate ourselves to getting there at actual RD.

We had a very similar view when we were at Pop for our one night in March! Except it was raining most of the time...

Question.

Is what's going up across the lake a new resort or a new part of Pop?

Love the new AP design.

Ok I knew when I looked at the other report & there were no posts since 7/15 that a new TR was started!! Now I have to catch up...

I checked in and was like 8 or 9 pages behind but I ran to catch up! Love the video and downtown disney. I went to little mismatched in NYC and a pair of socks was like $12 so I walked out...lol. Hope its more reasonable in DTD though I have doubts. Glad you got such an early morning start and your room at POP! yaa!

Thank you for sharing the first moments at POP!

It's very excitting to walk in and know your trip is ahead of you.
I always feel sorry for the ones leaving...they look so sad.

Glad that Judy could get you two rooms together and they were ready too! :thumbsup2

I love to walk into a fresh & clean room...that hasn't been "lived in" yet.
You had a nice location.

I really hope we get a Lady & the Tramp building this time. :wizard:

Yummy desserts you are serving tonight at camp! Lucky kids!
Wish I lived closer...I could wash some dishes for a taste.
How many kids do you have to feed at camp?

Ok all caught up-phew!!

Love the pics of the girls in the introduction.:thumbsup2

I do see Mickey ears in the clouds.

I also bring a fan with me. I cannot sleep without one now. Well I guess if I was tired enough I might. I make sure I have enough room in my suitcase for it.

Great job on the tie-dyed cake MeMom. It is making me hungry!!

That is great that your rooms were ready so early!!:thumbsup2

That is so funny about Bella wanting to go eat when you checked in.:rotfl: That girl knows where the food is.

Sorry to hear about Trent & Tanya. I thought they had a great thing going. You never know he could find his love when he least expects it. Don't give up on him yet.

Oh, I totally know what you mean about the Pop feeling! :goodvibes
A part of the reason we're going back there again is because I saw pictures from your TR's and realized how much I missed the place! (And I'm sure my mom is very happy because I saved her a couple hundreds by switching from POR.. :rolleyes1 )

I need the help of my "crazy internet friends". My cousins are going to Disney next month for their first trip. It will be Kristianna, Joe, and their two kids Annabella (5yrs) and Gabe (14 months).

I am going to send Bella a special package with things for her first trip. What things should I include?? I'm making a trip to DTD later this week (oh the joys of living close to Disney :goodvibes ) to pick some things up so any suggestions are welcome for both Bella and Gabe.

Thanks Much!!!!!

Had to play catch-up!

This is Black Pearl, our guide wherever we go.

http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f286/missjill5/Disney%20Summer%202011/disneysummmmer082.jpg

She tells us where to go and how long it will take to get there, and she recalculates a lot. ;)

Mine is named Priscilla and has a very snooty, accented voice because it's usually really, really hard for me to ignore. She also recalculates a lot and I swear she sounds annoyed when she says "recalculating"!

I'm SO excited to see what the new resort at Pop looks like when I'm there in January! Last time I was there, it was still untouched, so I can't wait to see how far along they are in a little under six months from now!

Black Pearl, huh? ... If only my parents had named their GPSes... though we yell at the thing most of the time so it doesn't deserve a name :sad2: But they do recalculate a lot don't they? And love how they pronounce certain things... "Bu-wenna Vista!" Hahaha

That was great you had a nice check-in lady and she even switched your rooms up for you. (: I've read most of the time, they either mess up the view you may have reserved for or be "I'm sorry, can't do that." I will have to look for Judy if I ever stay at Pop Century :thumbsup2

Oh, and definitely get as much fun as Donald is, out of that AP! ::yes::

Your room looks great and you can walk out every morning to see the construction of "Art of Animation". It looks like where you took the picture is in either the Finding Nemo or Little Mermaid section...

Can't wait to read about your ADR at Crystal Palace (Awesome Character Meals there! (: (: (: (: )! :mickeyjum

Judy checked us in.

http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f286/missjill5/Disney%20Summer%202011/disneysummmmer087.jpg

She told us they had us in two separate buildings, but she fixed that right away.

Nice Judy. :)

Judy checked me once too!!!!! Judy from Brooklyn!!! She worked a room change for me too!!!!

Nice Judy!!::yes::

A picture of my good friend, Donald, on my AP.

Notice he is not scowling.
He is so happy about all the fun I am going to have with this pass.

I can't wait to get a happy Donald AP!!! :cool1:

Black Pearl says it like this - 'Buu-wenna Vista'.

Our GPS's name is Steve, I loved when we use to drive around California and Steve would try to pronounce all of the Spanish city names. Basically if it started with "San" you knew he was going to fumble it up. :lmao:

She told us they had us in two separate buildings, but she fixed that right away.

Nice Judy. :)

I love Disney CM's! Its amazing how even early in the morning they can put on a smile and spread some pixie dust :wizard: But it' is probably easier to be a morning person in Disney World ;) I know it is for me!

I cannot express to you how much I love this place and how much I love the first moments of a trip. I suspect most of you know, though, and feel the same.

The first day is always the best. You are just happy to finally be there and still have everything to look forward too :)

Black Pearl! What a great name! Ours is called "Madge"...it's short for Magellan ;) She's not so good with directions either...the last time I was on my way home from Indiana she "recalculated" and tried to send me to Kentucky! She also sent me on a dirt road into a cornfield recently!

Tink 9721I'm so glad your DMom made it through the surgery well and I wish her a speedy recovery.

Thank you!

I'm not letting her do anything but relax for a while  I'm taking care of the house work, the dog, the cats, etc. She hasn't done much but lie on the couch and watch tv or read since she's been home. She's been up walking around the house a little. She can walk with no problem, it's just getting up and down that hurts. She gets tired easily, but said she's really not in any pain unless she bumps the incision.

I should definitely look at that website!

I know she appreciates how many DIS friends were and are thinking of her family this week. :)

You had/have lots of people thinking of you this week.

I definitely appreciate it! It feels so good to have so many people thinking about us :goodvibes

Oh, I meant to comment on the fan earlier -- Charles and I have to have a fan going when we are sleeping as well! It does make all the difference in the world!

Hurray for your rooms being ready! You really must have been there at the crack of dawn since you had a CP ressie at 8:10.

Yes, just looking at your pictures made me remember the feeling of walking into a Disney hotel -- sights, sounds, and smells included! :thumbsup2

Hello! I am mostly a TR lurker but I have read nearly every one of your fine TRs!

I cannot believe you made it to an 8:00ADR with switching hotels and checking in/dropped off luggage! That is amazing with 2 smallish kids!

Can't wait for MK!! :)
