Mail by: August 24

1. Select groups. Each element should be embellished 1-2 different ways.
2. PM me with your DIS name, name and address.
3. Post your status on the Progress thread - which will be posted after the slots are filled. Check-ins are required to make sure we haven't lost anyone and that swappers are still able to fulfill their commitment. I will pm you if you do not check in. If you don’t respond within 48 hours of the pm, I will angel your spot. Just let me know if you’re going to be out of town during a check in and I’ll take care of that!
4. Check the progress thread for your status - it will be updated with ship info and received info.
5. PM me if you have problems and need to drop out or if an emergency happens (we all know things happen beyond our control sometimes), let me know so we can make arrangements for an angel or other help if needed.
6. HAVE FUN!!

Here are the elements to choose from (if you have another idea for an element, let me know and I will add it).

Please, no hand lettering on any items, use computer fonts, rub-ons, stamps, etc.

Embellished means using brads, eyelets, charms, ribbon, 3D stickers (matted stickers are okay too), specialty paper, embossing, stickles, etc.

Element Selection:

Photo Mats – 2PP to fit a 4x6 photo, double matted and embellished.
Topper – 1PP double matted and embellished OR TITLE LETTERS at least 1 ¼ inch with shadow. If you do the letters, please let me know what it spells. You can a traditional "topper" OR you can do a topper/signage piece (welded letters, etc.) It’s up to you!
Journaling Box: 1PP at least a 3x3 writing area, double matted and embellished with actual journal area placed on top of the two mats
Borders – 1 set PP (2 borders) double matted and embellished
Tag: 1 PP large tag 4.5-5 inches, 2 pp if smaller, double matted and embellished, include either ribbon/fiber or eyelet/brad in the hole. May include both...
Embellished Shapes/Squares: 4PP @ 1-1/2x1-1/2 or larger if you wish, double matted and embellished. These can be circles, squares, flowers, etc. be creative. If it is a shape that would not look right double matted please use your best judgment...Just make up for it in another way. Maybe make a few extra or throw in something extra.
Slide Mounts: 2PP be creative here please
File Folders or Matchbooks: 1 PP if medium size or lager, 2 pp if the smaller sized. Please make sure to enclose a blank page in the matchbook if this is the element you choose to do.
Library Pocket and Tag: 1PP embellished, no smaller than to hold 2x3 a tag that should have ribbon/fiber or eyelet in the hole
Shaker Box: 1PP be creative please
Paper Piecing: 1PP be creative please
License Plate: 1PP be creative please
Signage/Bookmark: 1PP 2x6, double matted and embellished
Song/Lyric/Poem: 1PP, double matted and embellished

Items in RED are items that are REQUIRED for each mini kit.

Packaging Instructions
Place your completed elements in a Ziploc bag with your DIS name and group number. Place all your baggies for a group in a GALLON size bag, and label with the same. Please use a gallon bag – even if your pieces are smaller and may not require it, the pieces you will be getting back may be bigger.

Postage:
Please include cash, check or stamps (No Click-it/ship-it postage). If you are in less than 4 groups, include $5.20 for the priority envelope. If you are in 4 or more groups, please include $10.95 for the medium box or $14.95 for the large box. I will be using Click-n-Ship to print postage online, so delivery confirmation will be free for those of you who use priority shipping. Any and all change will be returned.

A Final Note: This swap is a huge commitment of time and money for everyone involved as it takes a significant amount of both to create all of the pages and elements. Having said that, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE do not sign up for more than you can handle. It is not fair to me or the other participants to expend the time and money to make something for someone who does not reciprocate. We all want everyone to enjoy swapping but we also want you to think about what you are getting into when you sign up. The due date will not be extended.

I would like to thank Jennifer and Lisa...I am awaiting a package now from Hallmark Scrapbook also. I looked at that cart and had to have it...never even saw it! I have not been on the Cricut website in so long...I have to see what else is new! Anyway, I wanted when I saw it this morning, but only found it for $55...too much. I never herd of Hallmark Scrapbook, so I checked it out and of course ordered!! LOL That's the first cart I bought since March! Thanks guys!! LOL It will be great for any beach photos and Poly and Ohana!!

The only one that may not work for everyone is Snorkeling. You might want to change that to something like "swimming" instead? As for the page, I was waiting to see what the other themes were before I picked, so that I didn't duplicate. You can wait if you'd like.

Also a title for "That's Entertainment" which again can be kind of general, kids playing in the lobby, hubbys being silly, the lobby pianist, etc.

Element Selection:

Photo Mats – 2PP to fit a 4x6 photo, double matted and embellished.
Topper – 1PP double matted and embellished OR TITLE LETTERS at least 1 ¼ inch with shadow. If you do the letters, please let me know what it spells. You can a traditional "topper" OR you can do a topper/signage piece (welded letters, etc.) It’s up to you!
Journaling Box: 1PP at least a 3x3 writing area, double matted and embellished with actual journal area placed on top of the two mats
Borders – 1 set PP (2 borders) double matted and embellished
Tag: 1 PP large tag 4.5-5 inches, 2 pp if smaller, double matted and embellished, include either ribbon/fiber or eyelet/brad in the hole. May include both...

I can do it lots of ways, but I was thinking of either Day 1, Day 2, etc... and you could write your "menu" or restaurant on them. Or you could do a card for each family member and have them write their favorite food from the cruise on there (or favorite restaurant). We could even do a card for each restaurant, and you could journal something special about each one.

Just a thought. Let me know what you think, if there's a preference, or if you'd rather have something else! With just 3 of us, I could really customize it :) I can't decide which I would want - so many choices!

thanks! I actually had issues cutting out my title from Pack your bags :headache: hit the wrong button for my shadow, then the paper was too thick so it didn't cut all the way through, wasted 4 pieces of paper...got to love the learning curve!

I have this cute breakfast paper I bought awhile ago (yes, I admit I am a paper hoarder!:)). On the DCL cruises they do have a great character breakfast.
Or I could still keep the general cruise food theme.
Also, as it stands right now, "Thats Entertainment" is black/white and a sort of sepia color theme.

It's up to you, but Bon Appétit is in Group F, and you had Cruise Food in Group I (but, an FYI - Mommy2MRB is planning on this group being generic, since she's using them for a non-Dinsey cruise).

We just went on that cruise last month!
We had heard alot of negative things about the food and service, but everything was really nice, not DCL, but compared to the trip we took with them to Alaska (NCL) 100 percent better.
DO NOT eat at the Italian resturant, most disappointing and food was bad.
DO see the comdeiene (SP) Beau Irvine, he's a local and just great!

I broke down and bought the Creative Memories Traveler Cart. :goodvibes My mom wanted to do a deck 4/relax theme and we didn't have a deck chair so I needed a new cart.:rotfl: Plus is had a perfect title on it and lots of other cute stuff. I can't wait to get it!!!!

We just went on that cruise last month!
We had heard alot of negative things about the food and service, but everything was really nice, not DCL, but compared to the trip we took with them to Alaska (NCL) 100 percent better.
DO NOT eat at the Italian resturant, most disappointing and food was bad.
DO see the comdeiene (SP) Beau Irvine, he's a local and just great!

Does anyone else have trouble finding lined paper? I can find ledgers and things like that, and now (I guess with back to school?) I can find paper that looks like filler paper with the school pages. But I am having a hard time finding plain, lined paper. Creative Memories still makes white, I think, but I was hoping to find some other kinds. Of course, supplies where I live are limited. We have Michael's, Hobby Lobby, and one scrapbooking store that's local. I've looked for a stamp, but they all have borders. I just want the lines!

Any ideas?

For some of my sketch layouts in the past, I drew the lines. Using a ruler to keep them straight. They may not have been completely spaced evenly, but I don't remember any of them being horribly off.

I have also used paper that has different colored lines or stripes. Usually a color and white. I have even used paper that was meant to be diagonal and cut it to square with lines going horizontal.

I like it :) Maybe you could "bling" up the treasure chest, that's what I'm doing for my "treasure hunt" set to make it look like there is actually treasure in the chest KWIM.

I love what has been posted so far.

Checking in- Mom and are are working hard on these. I finished the Magic and Food groups. I did On deck and Ice Cream which turned out really cute. I will hopefully upload pictures of the 2 groups I have finished today. I have the title for General DCL put together and the Journal boxes cut, I am doing Out at Sea. I had the journal boxes done but was unhappy with them so started over and I like these much better.

No, not breakfast, just general, so that you dont have to limit the page to just that. I think Im going to use the general character paper with everything in black/white/red and "try" to make a couple of cricut cuts for the element.

The "O" on the title also has twine in it. The photo mats can be turned either way the flags are on a string so they aren't glued down you can just slide your photo under them. I really like how this set turned out.

There are beads on the photo mats but once again they can go either direction. The journal box is supposed to look like a mickey bar with a bite out of it. When you use a white pen on it it looks like ice cream. This set looks better in person. In fact I made my mom a set and my sister already used it!

I figured you could use it for on-deck ice cream or ice cream at dessert. When my sister ordered a mickey bar at dinner it came covered in sprinkles.

I have a question about my "Pirate" group (Group H) and I need some input! Here is what I have so far...

My husband and son both say that it needs more "Disney." So what do you think? I like it, but now that I look at it, they are right - there is nothing other than the title that ties it to DCL. I could add a pirate Mickey - he's my go-to guy. Any suggestions or ideas? Thanks for your advice :)

Thanks! That's what I thought, but then I thought I had better make sure! I thought I had the quart bags, but now that you mention it, I will make sure. They were loose in the drawer with a rubber band - which is DH's way of saying he tore the box.

Group K Ladies~ I am having a problem...
If any of you are old enough to remember the old "Thats Entertainment" series of specials that celebrated "Classic Hollywood" you might recall the song.
I was going to embellie with clef notes and "theater masks (Arthos/Pathos).
I have the notes but cannot find the masks anywhere.
My paper/theme is black/white/sepia and if I do see something which is usually a sticker its colorful and all wrong.
Will it be ok if I just stay with the notes?
I have checked online and at Ms and Js.

Update~ I have most of my titles in working status and thats usually the hardest for me so I am expecting to mail next week.

Group J- I went with a general theme and made it to match the Walt Disney Theater. It is very glittery. All the paper except the white is glitter paper and the "curtains" of the photo mat are pop dotted so you can slide a photo under it.
