Cat is up a tree!!! I do not mean a lil tree, My cat is about 30 to 40 feet in the air on this lil branch...here is the worst part, she has been there since Saturday. No thats not really the worst part, she has a baby kitten that needs her to come down. We have tried everything that we know, she was about 20 feet so we used a ladder to try to reach her with no luck, she went higher because she is so scared. I do not know what to do, I mean over two days with no food or water. Any suggestions will be most appreciated. Thanks

Have you called anyone to try and help her?
What about brought out food and water to try and entice her to come down?

Have you tried taking the kitten near the tree so she can hear it cry? I'm not sure what else to try except actually asking the fire department for help. Maybe animal rescue would have some suggestions.

Rajah, I have tried the Open can of Tuna, I called her for about oh I don't Know 1/2 the weekend. I do not know who to call. The ladder I borrowed was huge but she keeps going higher, I am really starting to get worried for her health. I thought Of taking the water hose and spraying near her just to give her something to drink but I am so scared that I may scare her even more...Ugh.

Call animal control... they should be able to help. I also like the kitten idea... that used to get our cat out from under the deck in a jiffy.

My insane dh does not want me to call the fire dept. Oh the shame.....whatever I say. The other bad part is that we can not get to her kitten, it is under a closed in deck with about a 5 inch opening, she only comes out with Emma. I do not mean to sound so dumb but what is animal rescue??

Most cities have an animal control dept. I wouldn't call the fire dept. they have better things to worry about. If animal control can't get her out maybe they can call a ladder truck to help.

Another night alone for Emma, Oh I hate it but the animal control does sound good...I wish I would have asked this yesterday so I could have tried that today.

Call animal control in the morning but don't be surprised if the fire department ends up being involved in this. Those fine men and women often rescue trapped or frightened animals.

Most fire departments today do not retrieve cats from trees. We used to years ago using heavy gloves and a burlap bag, but too many guys got scratched up around the face when the cat paniced.
The best thing to do is wait it out. When the cat gets hungry enough, it will find its way down.

Sorry but Doc is right. Reality is the cat and the kitten will probably die if someone doesn't help soon.

I have not seen the baby kitten yet but like I said she keeps it where we can not get to it. Thanks for all your care and concern..it really helped me to knowing that others cared and I was not just panicing over "some cat"!!:D ::D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

Excellent news -- now let's hear 3 more parts!
First, that the kitten is okay, too.
Second, that you're able to get both to the vet and checked out.
And third, that you bring both *inside* ASAP so they aren't in danger of having this, or worse, happen again.
