Hello, a question for you all. We have a date night planned with the kids at the Sand Castle Club and us trying to find a fun restaurant. Somewhere we have not been before. We will be going out the Sunday before Christmas, staying at the Beach Club we wanted to go over to the Animal Kingdom Lodge to see their decorations and have a meal with the 3 kidlets. Having never been to this resort which do you recommend - Jiko or Boma and why? Your opinion is highly valued.

Boma is a buffet style dinner. Here is the MENU. (http://wdwig.com/menu/menu_bomadin.htm)

Jiko is a fancy sit-down restaurant. Here is the MENU. (http://wdwig.com/menu/menu_jiko.htm)

You will probably spend more money at Jiko, but it would be more romantic. They also have the largest African wine selection outside of Africa.

BTW, there is also a kids' club at the AKL. It's called Simba's Cubhouse. Here are PICTURES. (http://*********************/id239.htm)

With the kids: Boma
Without the kids: Jiko

My 5 yo DD loved Boma, but had trouble sitting still at Artists' Point (similar atmosphere to Jiko). If you can get your kids into Simba's Cubhouse, I think Jiko's better for couples. Boma's a bit of a madhouse (but YUMMY!)

my $0.02.

i have to agree. Jiko is without a doubt the better restaurant, but it really is for grownups. It's a leisurely, sophisticated dinner.
Boma is noisy, with lots going on and the kids can keep going up to check out the food stations.
